We investigate the structural dynamics of the incommensurately modulated phase of Sn 2P 2Se 6 by means of time-resolved X-ray diffraction following excitation by an optical pump. Tracking the incommensurable distortion in the time domain enables us to identify the transport effects leading to a complete disappearance of the incommensurate phase over the course of 100 ns. These observations suggest that a thin surface layer of the high-temperature phase forms quickly after photo-excitation and then propagates into the material with a constant velocity of 3.7 m/s. Complementary static structural measurements reveal previously unreported higher-order satellite reflection in the incommensurate phase. These higher-order reflections are attributed to cubic vibrational terms in the Hamiltonian.

The aim of this work is studying of double-phase rhythm characteristics of pulse pressure (PP) at untreated patients AH. The absent of night reduce of PP can be the consequent of night incommensurable change of systolic and diastolic pressure at night in comparison with day change. It was revealed two types of incommensurable double-phase rhythm of pulse pressure ( PP) on the basis of database analysis: Type 1 - with night increase of SHP (type 1a with night decrease DBP, type 1b with gap of increase DBP from SBP at night). Type 2 - with decrease of SBP and DBP at night. Ratio of daily index SBP and DBP ≥ 0,70 provide for decrease PP at night in comparison of day hours with probability ≥ 96 %. Accepting k = 0,70 as bench mark allow us to insert quantitative characteristics of double-phase rhythm of pulse pressure (PP), without using the traditional measure scale of daily index, the usage opportunity of which by BP demands more precise definition The presence of incommensurable daily rhythm of BP was associated with more expressed abnormalities from the point of target organs even with normal daily rhythm of SHP. Thus, I he estimation of proportionality of daily rhythm of SHP and DBP against their daily index is very important additional characteristic of daily profile of HP, allowing to identify patients in dipper and non-dipper groups, whose target organs condition can't be explained by the character of double-phase rhythm of SHP.

A forced nonlinear oscillator can exhibit complex transient spectra even in the absence of chaotic phenomena. Series of evenly spaced lines appear in spectrograms of the numerically computed oscillations. They can be explained by means of a simple model describing the dynamics of the energy exchange between the external oscillating force and the nonlinear system. The resulting amplitude and phase modulations are shown to produce the spectral line structures. Frequencies incommensurable with other present frequencies can be generated by the nonlinear system.

Abstract. We consider particle motion in nonautonomous 1 degree of freedom Hamiltonian systems for which H(p,q,t) depends on N periodic functions of t with incommensurable frequencies. It is shown that in near-integrable systems of this type, phase space is partitioned into nonintersecting regular and chaotic regions. In this respect there is no different between the N = 1 (periodic time dependence) and the N = 2, 3, ... (quasi-periodic time dependence) problems. An important consequence of this phase space structure is that the mechanism that leads to fractal properties of chaotic trajectories in systems with N = 1 also applies to the larger class of problems treated here. Implications of the results presented to studies of ray dynamics in two-dimensional incompressible fluid flows are discussed.

В работе проводится исследование на асимптотическую устойчивость точек покоя дробного осциллятора Ван дер ПоляДуффинга. Дробный осциллятор Ван дер Поля Дуффинга представляет собой колебательную систему двух дифференциальных уравнений с производными дробных порядков в смысле ГерасимоваКапуто. Порядки дробных производных характеризуют свойства среды (эффекты памяти), в которой происходит колебательный процесс и могут быть одинаковыми (соизмеримыми) или разными (несоизмеримыми). С помощью теорем для соизмеримой и несоизмеримой систем на конкретных примерах исследуется асимптотическая устойчивость точек покоя дробного осциллятора Ван дер ПоляДуффинга. Результаты исследований были подтверждены с помощью построения соответствующих осциллограмм и фазовых траекторий A study is conducted on the asymptotic stability of the rest points of the fractional oscillator Van der PolDuffing. The fractional van der PolDuffing oscillator is an oscillatory system of two differential equations with fractional order derivatives in the sense of GerasimovCaputo. The orders of fractional derivatives characterize the properties of the medium (memory effects) in which the oscillatory process takes place and can be the same (commensurate) or different (incommensurable). Using theorems for commensurable and incommensurable systems, the asymptotic stability of the rest points of the fractional van der PolDuffing oscillator is investigated with concrete examples. The results of the studies were confirmed by constructing the appropriate waveforms and phase trajectories.

В работе с помощью качественного анализа были исследованы на устойчивость точки покоя дробного осциллятора ФитцХью-Нагумо в соизмеримом и несоизмеримом случаях. Для соответвующей точки покоя, с помощью численного метода теории конечно-разностных схем, была построена фазовая траектория. Показано, что точки покоя могут быть как асимптотически устойчивыми, что соответствуют устойчивым фокусам, так и являться асимптотически неустойчивыми (неустойчивыми фокусами), причем для них фазовые таректории, как правило, выходят на предельный цикл. In this paper, using the qualitative analysis, we studied the stability of the point of rest of the fractional oscillator FitzHugh-Nagumo in commensurate and incommensurable cases. For the corresponding point of rest, using the numerical method of the theory of finite difference schemes, phase trajectories were constructed. It is shown that quiescent points can be both asymptotically stable, which correspond to stable focus, and are asymptotically unstable (unstable focus), and for them the phase trajectories usually go to the limit cycle.

Cette thèse porte sur l’étude des propriétés spectroscopiques de U⁴⁺ dans ThBr₄. – les premières expériences d’absorption, d’émission (inconnue pour U⁴⁺) ainsi que des mesures de dichroïsme circulaire magnétique (DCM) effectuées à 4K sur des monocristaux de ThBr₄ : U⁴⁺ ont conduit à plusieurs résultats surprenants : largeur inhabituelle de certaines raies d’absorption, forme anormale de certaines autres, déplacement continu des longueurs d’onde des raies de fluorescence associées à l’excitation sélective des bandes d’absorption, signaux dichroïques complexes. Devant l’incompréhension apparente de ces résultats, on a cherché à vérifier si la structure cristalline de ThBr₄, qui était seulement connue à température ambiante, était bien la même à 4K. – la spectroscopie Raman a permis de mettre en évidence une transition de phase displacive à Tc = 95K. – la diffraction des rayons X et de neutrons sur poudre à basse température a confirmé l’existence d’une modification structurale qui en première approximation pouvait s’interpréter comme un triplement de maille le long de l’axe quaternaire c̅. – la diffraction de neutrons, sur monocristaux, a fait apparaître qu’entre 4K et 95K le cristal présente une structure modulée incommensurable avec un vecteur d’onde de modulation dirigé le long de l’axe c̅. Q̅s = 0. 0310 +̠ 0. 005 c̅x. – la diffusion élastique et inélastique de neutrons a permis de comprendre la dynamique de la transition de phase. La symétrie unique de site D₂d n’est pas conservée. L’interprétation complète du changement de symétrie du site de l’ion U⁴⁺ est reliée à l’introduction d’une phase locale ϕ₁. La symétrie varie continument d’une symétrie D₂d (ϕ₁ = 0) à une symétrie « extrême » D₂ (ϕ₁ = π/2). Les résultats d’excitation sélective et de DCM ont permis d’identifier systématiquement les niveaux d’énergie appartenant à U⁴⁺ en symétrie D₂d (ou D₂ extrême). Un jeu de valeurs de paramètres de champ cristallin pour les deux symétries a été proposé. En conclusion, cette étude a permis de donner une interprétation complète des propriétés optiques d’un ion placé dans une structure modulée incommensurable
This thesis is concerned with the study of the spectroscopic properties of U⁴⁺ in ThBr₄. – The complete visible and infrared absorption (emission) spectra of U⁴⁺ as doping ion in pure ThBr₄, as well as the magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) measurements have been examined. At liquid – He temperature the absorption spectra consist of broad absorption bands with two edge singularities. The apparently continuous character of fluorescence lines in selective excitation experiments, and the MCD profiles suggest the existence of a continuous distribution of U⁴⁺ sites in the host crystal. – Raman scattering results indicate the existence of a displacive phase transition at Tc = 95K. – X-ray and neutron powder diffraction data show additional lines which could be indexed approximately by a tripling of the unit cell along the c̅ axis. – Single-crystal neutron diffraction measurements indicate that below Tc, ThBr₄ has a displacively modulated structure, with a modulation wave vector q̅s given by: q̅s = 0. 0310 +̠ 0. 005 c̅x. – Inelastic neutron scattering leads us to understand the dynamics of the phase transition. The unique D₂d site symmetry for Th⁴⁺ (U⁴⁺) is not preserved. The complete interpretation of the change in the symmetry site of the U⁴⁺ ion may be described in terms of a local phase angle ϕ₁. The site symmetry varies continuously from D₂d (ϕ₁ = 0) to a limiting D₂ (ϕ₁ = π/2) symmetry. A parametric analysis of the U⁴⁺ energy levels in D₂d and limiting D₂ sites has been presented. In conclusion this study led us to give a complete interpretation of the optical properties of an ion embedded in an incommensurate structure

Apres une presentation des proprietes generales des systemes incommensurables, rappel des problemes particuliers poses par la phase incommensurable de ba::(2)nanb::(5)o::(15). Etude experimentale par microscopie electronique, entre la temperature ambiante et 350c. Le comportement observe peut etre explique en considerant que vers 230c, la phase incommensurable est constituee d'un melange de deux phases metastables. En utilisant l'effet de memoire, ces phases ont pu etre stabilisees et les auteurs ont ainsi obtenu des precisions sur leurs structures. Cet effet de memoire est interprete par la presence de defauts qui interagissent avec la modulation modifiant les stabilites relatives des deux phases. Etude de ce dernier point en creant des defauts par irradiation par des electrons (2 mev)

In layered crystals of the AIIIBIIICVI2 family the presence of wide temperature ranges is indicated, in which on the primitive translation of the lattice of the initial phase superlattices with periods of 5–15 nm are superimposed. At that, the neutron-diffraction patterns show the presence of superstructural reflections: both reflections that are multiple of the initial translation of the lattice and incommensurable superstructural ones. Our research showed that layered crystals of the TlInS2 family are crystallized with the formation of both incommensurable and commensurate (of the initial translation) superlattices and could be used for the generation of Terahertz radiation.

We have studied Multi-Photon Ionization (MPI) in Krypton using a field made up of two sub-picosecond laser pulses, one the second harmonic of the other, as a function of phase shift between the two pulses. Recent previous experiments have used either two pulses of incommensurate frequencies, or pulses that were in the "long-pulse" regime1 where ponderomotive effects dominate the final kinetic energies of ejected photoelectrons. The sub-picosecond pulses of this experiment allow us to identify laser induced resonances during the ionization process2 and hence specific ionization pathways. The variation of the total electric field in time and the amplitude of the peak electric field is phase dependent.

Recently, in an analytical approach based on incommensurate spectral decomposition, Banerjee et al.1 showed that an AM pulse, upon transmission across a linear, nondispersive/ nonlinear, dispersive interface, appeared to indicate the formation of collinear AM and narrowband FM "channels," each with distinctive phase velocities. This indicated that these modulations would spatially separate after some characteristic distance. The above work was based on a nonlinear Klein-Gordon (NKG) system in which the interface was linear/ nondispersive on one side and nonlinear/ dispersive on the other. In this paper, we assume a nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) system in which the core is assumed to have a Sellmeier-type material dispersion and an n2-type quadratic refractive index nonlinearity. The cladding is made similarly nonlinear but nondispersive for simplicity. By numerical simulations that accommodate exact soliton pulses, the nature of the reflected soliton pulses is examined for variable angles of incidence and for dispersion and nonlinearity parameters. We report here the formation of self-phase modulations on the low-amplitude regions of the propagating pulse, as well as possible phase modulation (resembling the narrowband FM channel analytically derived in Ref. 1) in portions of the reflected pulse. The propagation velocities and amplitudes of the modulations and the carrier are also numerically estimated and are compared with available theory. The case of discrete, incommensurate sidebands is also tested.

Impulsive stimulated scattering (ISS) is an entirely time-domain form of vibrational and quasielastic light scattering carried out on the femtosecond-picosecond-nanosecond time scales to complement conventional coherent and incoherent scattering spectroscopy in the THz-GHz-MHz frequency regimes. ISS permits direct observation of coherently vibrating species at various stages of vibrational distortion. This offers unique possibilities for measurement of vibrational dynamics, characterization of vibrationally distorted species, and observation of vibrationally induced rearrangements.1 Impulsive stimulated Brillouin and Raman scattering (ISBS, ISRS) have been used to excite coherent acoustic and optic phonons in crystals and to measure directly the dynamics of phonon-driven structural phase transitions in inorganic, organic, and incommensurate crystals. Femtosecond time-resolved observations of THz-frequency optic phonon oscillations and rapid (~1-ps) vibrational dephasing have been carried out through ISRS in inorganic crystals and in organic crystals with phonon-driven bimolecular reactions. Acoustic and orientational motions have been examined in viscoelastic fluids near liquid-glass transitions, liquid crystals, and simple fluids. ISRS measurement of vibrational population lifetimes ( T 1 ) and time-resolved absorption spectroscopy of coherently vibrating molecules and crystals are discussed. Finally, the ubiquitous occurrence of ISRS with ultrashort pulses is explained.1
