The Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP) is a share ownership program implemented in the company, this ESOP program aims to serve as a reward for employees who have good performance where the criteria for receiving this ESOP have been determined by each company, United States of America. is the first country to implement this ESOP program, with various benefits for employees through this share ownership program, the ESOP itself began to be implemented by certain companies in Indonesia regulated by PSAK No. 53 which according to PSAK, payments by companies to employees are not only in the form of monetary value but can be in the form of share options that can be used as opportunities by companies that aim to increase employee motivation, performance and loyalty to the company which will ultimately have an impact on the value of the company itself. In Indonesia, company management has its own rules in the process of implementing the ESOP, one of which is to use the vesting method, this method contains that every employee who receives the option right is prohibited from selling his shares unless requested by the company or an employee has retired. From the results of statistical tests whether the variable current ratio (X1) and Price Book Value (X2) have an effect if the company carries out the ESOP program but the results show that if a company implements the ESOP, it has no effect on the current ratio or price book value, but the existence of ESOP can strengthen these ratios. Variable current ratio, price book value and return on assets have an effect on the ESOP only 33%.

We present an exploratory case study obtained from a three months project with close university/company interaction, both with the head office in Oslo Norway and the Delhi office. Fact assessment showed that pollution levels are high and rising, with significant expected increase in asthma, cardiac diseases and mortality in the winter months. The results show that the employees compare home office environment with the Delhi office, and compare the company actions plans with other companies’ problem solving initiatives. Cost considerations were not important in the development of the response plan but in the implementation phase (specific decisions) and the results further shows that the characteristics of the internal process are important. We present a company response plan to a real-life situation, and this plan could be used by other companies as well. From the company perspective, the paper points towards a challenging issue of similar or dissimilar handling of local employees versus expatriates. Destination characteristics such as air pollution have attained limited focus in expatriate research, and a major contribution of this paper is to present facts and possible solutions as well as comments on future research needs.</p>

Along with the rapid development of technology in the industrial world, the need for electrical energy is also increasing. PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Sumbawa is a state-owned company (BUMN) that helps provide and deal with various electricity problems in the surrounding area. Steps taken by this company in maintaining the safety and comfort of using electrical energy is to carry out regular checks at the customer's home. However, this step is deemed ineffective because the customer may not be at home during the checking. In addition, checking manually can also cause errors when recording the KWH meter, so that this can cause losses to the customer and the company. Therefore, PT. PLN (Persero) introduced a new system, namely the Automatic MeterReading (AMR) system. With this system, companies can read KWH meters remotely and automatically so that there are no more errors in recording KWH meters. However, the use of the system must be balanced with a good communication network. Several areas in Sumbawa still have difficulties in accessing the communication network, causing several disturbances to occur in the system. With the existence of various previous problems, a research was conducted to observe the types of disturbances as well as efforts to prevent and deal with disturbances in the KWH Meter system at PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Sumbawa uses the Fishbone and PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) methods.

The article discusses the main directions, results and problems of preserving Chinese ancient books over the past 15 years, starting from 2007, when the first nationwide comprehensive Chinese Ancient Books Preservation Plan came into force. This plan has been implemented over three Five-Year Plan periods — the 11th (2006-2010), the 12th (2011-2015) and the 13th (2016-2020) — in the following areas: search and registration, restoration and storage, digitalization, editing, personnel education, promotion, and Guidelines on Promoting Ancient Books in a New Era were released in 2022. At present, search and registration of ancient books in Chinese has been basically completed: the whole volume of extant Chinese textual culture is about 500 thousand books, with the total number of individual books approaching 3 million in 30 million volumes. Along with the general results in the main areas, the article highlights the activity of individual large institutions (National Library of China, Zhonghua Book Company, Fudan University Library, etc.), expert assessments (Zhang Zhiqing, Deputy Director of the National Library of China, Gu Qing, editor-in-chief of Zhonghua Book Company and others), as well as the personal experience of modern users and participants of textual culture. Particular attention is paid to the current state of digitalization, and to the largest and most representative databases of ancient books (Database of Chinese Classic Ancient Books of NLC, Chinese Classic Ancient Books Database published by Zhonghua Book Company, Airusheng platform, Diaolong database, etc.).

Streszczenie:
Purpose This paper aims to present a history of the marketing of hope chests in the USA, focusing in particular on one very successful sales promotion, the Lane Company’s Girl Graduate Plan. The Girl Graduate Plan is placed within its historical context to better understand the socioeconomic forces that contributed to its success for a considerable period but ultimately led to decreased demand for the product. Design/methodology/approach The history of the marketing of hope or marriage chests draws upon primary sources located in the Lane Company Collection at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. Secondary sources and images of advertising culled from Google image searches provided additional insight into the operation of the company’s Girl Graduate Plan. Findings While the Lane Company benefitted in the form of increased sales, profit and brand awareness and loyalty from prevailing socio-economic trends, which supported the success of its Girl Graduate Plan, including targeting the youth market, this promotion ultimately fell victim to the company’s failure to stay abreast of social changes related to the role of women in society. Research limitations/implications Like all historical research, this research is dependent upon the historical sources that are accessible. The authors combined documents available from the Virginia Historical Society archives with online searches, but other data sources may well exist. Practical implications This history investigates how one manufacturer, a leader in the North American industry, collaborated with furniture dealers to promote their products to young women who were about to become the primary decision makers for the purchase of home furnishings. As such, it provides an historical example of the power of successful collaboration with channel partners. It also provides an example of innovation within an already crowded market. Social implications The hope chest as an object of material culture can be found in many cultures worldwide. It has variously represented a woman’s coming of age, the love relationship between a couple and a family’s social status. It has also served as a woman’s store of wealth. This history details how changing social values influenced the popularity of the hope chest tradition in the USA. Originality/value The history of the marketing of hope chests is an area that has not been seriously considered in consumption histories or in histories of marketing practices to date, in spite of the continuing sentimental appeal for many consumers.

This thesis deals with takeovers in the Czech environment according to the Insolvency Act No. 182/2006 Coll., which passed an amendment to the 1. 1. 2008. There are methods of resolving insolvency of the debtor and principles of insolvency proceedings which should be followed during the insolvency process. Work distinguishes friendly and hostile takeover. The theoretical part provides an overview of possible ways of takeover, the reasons that motivate new owners to think about a possible takeover and globally applicable defense strategies. Another theoretical starting point is consideration of the reorganization of the company, which may be conducted by both the debtor and of the creditor(s). The practical part describes the hostile takeover of SAZKA from its history, through description of the key moments of crisis to insolvency proceedings which resulted in the bankruptcy of the debtor. Subsequent hostile takeover was directed by PPF and KKCG, which bought up commitment wagers and therefore became important creditors (controlling the betting and lottery activities) and later winner of the tender for the sale of the entire company. This case is a textbook example of takeover of the company, which had fallen into financial distress. The battle for the largest lottery company in the country was very hard, long and eventually resulted in a very profitable business, which fell into the arms of a single owner.

Streszczenie:
My thesis is a business plan about my own retail company. Founded in 2007, Interieur Mediterran acts as a pure online retailer. The business success of the past two years motivated me to think about a growth strategy for Interieur Mediterran. This business plan will help to evaluate different strategies. In the course of this thesis the opening of a stationary store will be highlighted and financially analysed. The document is supposed to be used as a basis for future presentations of the business idea to investors. The business plan will be structured in best practice. Typical parts will be covered, like presentation of the business idea, a market overview, market segmentation, target group selection, selection of a proper location (retailer specific), internal company analysis, external analysis, strategy selection, company organization, logistics, marketing tactics and a final financial analysis in order to proof the profitability of the business. For data evaluation I used mainly sources in the internet and historic data from my ecommerce sales. A very important source of information was an online survey I conducted among my existing customers. From 800 customers 254 customers replied to the survey. In order to meet the requirements of a thesis I will also present theoretical backgrounds in some of the chapters.

AbstractCOVID-19 disrupted existing processes and accelerated the rethinking of healthcare spaces, functions, and model of care, stressing the ineffectiveness of the territorial health network in the Italian National Health System (NHS). Within the framework of European Recovery Plan (Next Generation EU), Italy’s Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR) allocated €15.63 Bn in the Mission 6 “Health” to strengthen proximity networks, facilities, and telemedicine for territorial healthcare. Aware of the importance that the physical built environment plays in the process of care delivery and health promotion and prevention, €3 Bn has been allocated to the planning, design, and construction of two new low-care typologies in a vision of person-centered healthcare: the Community Home (Casa della Comunità-CdC), and the Community Hospital (Ospedale di Comunità-OdC). It has been estimated that 795 new CdCs and 381 new OdCs will completed before 2026 as novel buildings or renovation of existing healthcare facilities. Although in European context several best practices are present in terms of integration of healthcare architectures into the urban context (Spanish Health Centers or Swedish Primary Care Centers), the Italian experience is generally outdated, with some regional exceptions; there is the need to understand the architectural characteristics of such new typologies. Therefore, the aim of the paper is to shed light on the spatial, functional, technological, and organizational needs and requirements of CdC and OdCs and to map the different regional requirements in a systematic and structured framework. The methods adopted in the study include a review of national and regional guidelines, data collection from National agency for regional health services (AGENAS) databases, and comparison matrix development of the different requirements in Italian regions. The results will highlight technological and architectural implications of territorial health centers implementation.

AbstractA history of systemic injustices and a lack of transparency have influenced public perceptions of domestic adoption. This book aims to introduce more empirical evidence into the debate by exploring the value of open adoption, as practised in Australia, as a route to permanence for abused and neglected children in out-of-home care who cannot safely return to their birth families. International evidence about the outcomes of adoption and foster care is discussed. The chapter introduces the Barnardos Australia Find-a-Family programme which has been finding adoptive homes since 1986 for non-Aboriginal children in care who are identified as ‘hard to place’. Regular post-adoption face-to-face contact with birth family members is an integral part of the adoption plan. The methodology for evaluating the outcomes for 210 children placed through the programme included case and court file analysis, a follow-up survey and interviews with adoptive parents and adult adoptees.

In April 1974, Admiral was absorbed into Rockwell International’s growing empire. The Vietnam War contractor was, according to the New York Times, on a “debt-financed acquisition binge that lasted almost a decade” as it spread its reach into aircraft, defense, aerospace, electronics, and appliances. Admiral, meanwhile, was still churning out televisions, radios, and home appliances at factories across the Midwest. Productive as it was, the little company couldn’t afford the massive capital outlays required to modernize, market, and survive in the increasingly brutal electronics and appliance businesses. Accustomed to the massive revenues and fat profits of big government contracts, Rockwell International trimmed employment at the plant, investing $25 million to automate the chest-freezer line. In 1975 Rockwell added a 60,000-square-foot microwave oven facility, and in 1978 it spent $12 million to retool the top-mount refrigerator line and erect the “Blue Goose,” a massive machine the length of a football field that spat out finished metal cabinets. In earlier times, investment meant more jobs. Under Rockwell’s rigorous ethic of scientific management, it usually meant fewer. Admiral accounted for about an eighth of Rockwell’s revenues. “We weren’t even peanuts to Rockwell,” Michael Patrick said. It was a new era for Appliance City. One afternoon in the mid-1970s, Dave Bevard was let out of work an hour and a half early. Production workers were instructed to gather in the vast parking lot across the street from the factory. Under a circus tent, a Rockwell representative and the Admiral plant manager told workers about the importance of the B-1 bomber to the nation’s defense, to Rockwell’s future, and, consequently, to Galesburg jobs. By this time Rockwell had production of the B-1 in over forty states, making itself the model practitioner of militaryindustrial growth. The plan was to use its nonmilitary production facilities in a lobbying campaign to maintain one of the most lucrative military contracts in history—around $10 billion at the time. Workers signed premade postcards for their congressman and went home early that day.

Streszczenie:
Television was the key popular medium of the second half of the twentieth century in the UK, and Beckett’s work was consistently aired by BBC, the British non-commercial TV broadcaster that had already featured his work on radio since the mid-1950s. But Beckett’s work also appeared on Independent Television (ITV), the commercially-funded British television channel set up in 1955 to rival BBC. The commercial ABC TV company made the series The Present Stage for ITV in 1966. In its feature announcing the series, the TV Times listings magazine asked “Do you really enjoy the modern play like Look Back in Anger or Waiting for Godot? A new 13-week series, The Present Stage, starts next Sunday and is designed to help you enjoy and understand modern plays.” The series was based on a popular book by John Kershaw, and alongside Beckett’s drama it dealt with plays by the dramatists Arnold Wesker, Max Frisch, Eugene Ionesco and Harold Pinter, each of which were landmarks in London theatre at the time. The series was broadcast on Sundays, following a home improvement programme, and this chapter asks what it meant for the ITV channel to screen a programme about Beckett’s drama amongst televised church services and home decor advice. The chapter places Beckett’s drama in the context of dynamic instability in British culture, when the categories of the popular and the elite were being contested, to argue that ITV’s programme contributed to a cultural revolution.

Abstract I returned to my parents’ home on Cross Street and my hometown many times in the years after Dad died. Mom changed the arrangements she had made at home to care for Dad while he was ill. She sorted through and disposed of most of his clothing and other personal items. She otherwise kept the house very much as it was before he died. Over the years she bought some furniture or carpet when old items wore out and rearranged things in ways that suited her. It seemed very much the same place to me nearly twenty-five years later when she left it for a retirement home. Men I visited, I easily remembered Dad in the various rooms of the house or out in the yard. I saw him napping after a hard day’s work, sitting before the television watching the Mite Sox or Cubs, eating at the kitchen or dining room table, sitting and listening while company chattered away or I played the piano, or joking with my friends. Occasionally, I told my children something about the grandfather they never met when we returned there together or as I remembered incidents in particular places.

One of the most difficult tasks for family companies is ensuring a smooth transition of power from one generation to the next. However, many family companies lack a clear plan for the future of the company. How a company prepares for the future is through succession planning. This chapter expands our knowledge of this challenging topic by investigating how successors employ succession narratives inside family businesses to justify their claims to power. The success and survival of family companies, which account for a sizable portion of GDP and employment opportunities in the modern economy, is a pressing concern. The findings illustrate the unique qualities of family companies, which make them vulnerable to the experiences and challenges that might threaten their continuity, especially during succession. In addition, family-run businesses typically have a longer-term focus, with decisions made within the family and the company being relatively stable so long as the founder remains at the helm. This study aids in expanding our understanding of family businesses and, more specifically, the challenges that arise during the transition from one generation to the next. This chapter can be helpful to family-owned and operated businesses by providing lessons learned on how to ensure organizational sustainability and develop a successful succession plan

Abstract Leadership Huddle Board is a simple agile tool used to maintain a satisfied level of alignment between top management from one side and employees working across different departments at the other side. Pharaonic Petroleum Company (where I worked for at these times) succeeded in 2020 to launch this amazing agility approach. Working from home derived us to search for better flexible ways that maintain level of employees' engagement as it was regardless of the sudden change of working style. According to the Ministerial Decree, 50% of actual work force is the maximum capacity allowed to work. Workers who have chronic diseases or females who own children below 12 years were allowed as well to work from home. Leadership Huddle Board is just one board/slide/page/frame discussed weekly in one hour between leaders and their subordinates. It represents Key actions of departments associated with their priorities, accountable person, due dates and the status of actions using traffic lights coding. This board covers key important dates, pressing/emerging issues, blockers/support required, successes, key matrices and critical dashboards. HR always has a strategic role especially when it comes to aligning workers on one goal and yearly objectives. We had succeeded to push department's heads to arrange for a weekly huddle board where both two types of workers (physical and virtual ones) meet together to discuss, update, raise issues and plan the way forward to contribute to the success story of Pharaonic Petroleum Company.

Abstract COVID-19 pandemic shifted the conventional working paradigms, forcing an accelerated adaptability to remote working, ensuring the wellbeing of the employees without sacrificing the effectiveness, in compliance to 100% HSE. To overcome this challenge, Drilling Real Time Operations Center (RTOC) transformed the conventional Monitoring Onsite Hub into a full virtual collaborative remote center operated from each individual's place. This paper describes how RTOC successfully, continued to support drilling operations off-site through secure portal during work-from-home period. RTOC ensured to have the sufficient connectivity resources and security protocols to access the IT company environment and execute the tasks at the same productivity level, as operating from the hub. The platform design involved virtual machine remoting in an integrated communication environment, in synergy with the conventional ways of communication. Several data access points were developed to ensure an unstoppable link between operational teams and the data deliverables. To grantee productivity, KPIs were established and closely monitored, e.g. active rigs count, connectivity issues, software support, real-time drilling performance reporting, engineering computations, with continuous quality audits. Despite several challenges at start due to change in the nature of the work, RTOC successfully overcame the difficulties by having proper procedures and infrastructure in place. The virtual collaborative environment allowed the team to operate the center remotely and meet the targets for deliverables. Defining a clear communication protocol created efficiency when addressing data aggregation problems. As a result, RTOC was able to maintain the resolution time for data aggregation issues and continue to produce drilling performance reports within time. RTOC launched a mobile application for drilling real-time monitoring to support user mobility prior to the mandate of work-from-home policy. RTOC continued to support drilling operations during work-from-home period by providing real-time computations for drilling operations, doing real-time interactions for drilling events and introducing data analytics platform for users to analyze drilling performance. In summary, systematic implementation of the workflows and following clear chain of command have proven to be effective in ensuring business continuity of RTOC. Building trust and respect helped boost the morale and productivity of the team while ensuring their safety and wellbeing. The pandemic has been, indeed, a tough period for the world but the shift of working lifestyle was indeed a unique experience. It broadened the horizon for RTOC to develop advanced collaboration tools and upgrade the infrastructure to be future-ready for higher mobility. This novelty can also be adopted as standard procedure for Emergency Response Plan.

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 is a global crisis that imposes travel restrictions, quarantines, and suspensions of much of its daily activities. The pandemic changed the real interest rates and the balance in the economy, made it difficult and almost impossible to financially forecast and plan the activities of organizations, increased the level of uncertainty in the economies of each country. This topic identifies possible and observed problems that have arisen in an unhealthy social environment and their impact on social resources (people), which integrate institutions, organizations and networks to perform actions of common benefit, through the challenge to transform their overall approach and model of business and social life management. The problems caused by the health crisis are identified and solved in progress, without prior preparation and without high expectations as a reflection on social units. During a pandemic, the prevention of human health, on the one hand, and ensuring business continuity, on the other, require adaptability and rapid solutions, adequate responses in unforeseen and unpredictable environments, related to effective transformations to reorganize the work regime, to engage, motivate and attract people in an online environment, but also keep the relationship with them alive. The so-called “new normal” causes changes in a person’s daily life, both as an individual and in society. Among the urgent new challenges is the question: “Does working from home contribute to higher productivity and wider development of one’s potential, and in this sense does the contribution to the development of the respective sector increase or is the “home office “perceived” as a constraint and demotivation?” The topic discusses and develops the idea of changing approaches to human capital, in order to feel safe and productive in the new job, which helps us in the process of overcoming the difficulties associated with an unhealthy Environment. Faced with a catastrophic decline in all elements of social capital, a positive start must be developed and a formula found for one’s own satisfaction, both for ourselves and for those with whom we are virtually connected. Investments in the changing work profiles, as well as in the change in the required qualities and competencies of the employees, corresponding to the new normality, should be seen as levers for convincing and effective support of the skills of the workforce and as a long-term advantage. Innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge are the basis for increasing the competitiveness of any company and its growth. Social capital helps the management of each company to actively respond to changes in the market in which they operate, to understand and meet customer needs in the most adequate way. Therefore, companies should be able to use their social capital in the most effective way to stimulate all their activities and, through the digitalization of processes and accumulation of new knowledge, to be able to meet various market challenges. While all companies strive to survive in a pandemic, the pressure of the pandemic has created an opportunity to use innovations and integrate capital management into e-business, forcing them to prioritize their processes and activities towards innovative flexible solutions.
