The article provides information about different types of dietary fats and promotes consumption of healthy fats in moderation as part of a balanced diet. The prevalence of fat-free products in grocery stores may give some health-conscious consumers the perception that all dietary fats are unhealthy. However, fats are absolutely vital for proper physiological functioning, and it is imperative that fats are included in a healthy diet. Fats are classified as saturated, monounsaturated, or polyunsaturated. Both types of unsaturated fats, when consumed in moderation, can help lower cholesterol and decrease the risk of heart disease, especially when they replace saturated and trans fats. We provide tips for selecting healthier fats, along with a guide for consuming appropriate portions of fat.

Streszczenie:
In fact, the relationship of health and sociology, social relations, etc., has been started to be analyzed recently in Lithuania. Recently, public health research is focused on innovative fields as health quality, efficiency of health services, solidarity and integrity of activity, introduction of health policy elements in all fields of social and economic activity. Aging society, social, economic changes, penetration of market elements in the sphere of health services change the nature of interaction between public health condition and integral environment that influences it. These circumstances also alter the assumptions of health policy effectiveness. The latter must be based on information of scientific research. Unfortunately, there has been carried out small number of research of similar direction in Lithuania. Hereby, we seek to explore systematically and assess the differences of the main health and social factors, and the impact of their interactions on public health condition and the emerging social structures of health. The research analyzed the subjectively assessed health condition, morbidity, prevailing health problems and mental health conditions. These aspects were examined in different fields of influence of social factors as well as in their integral interaction.

Brush seals are found in aircraft engines, compressors, steam turbines, and power generators. Their design enables excellent sealing while mitigating any adverse rotor dynamics. Brush seals rely heavily on a pressure differential across their bristle pack to force the bristles to press against the rotor. This phenomenon, commonly referred to as “blow-down,” enables brush seals to seal tightly at a variety of operating conditions and transient events. The phenomenon of blow-down is rather complex. There are frictional forces between each bristle and between the bristle tips and rotor, fluid flow through the bristle pack and beneath the bristle tips, dynamic excitation of individual fibers, and even dynamic excitation of the bristle pack as a whole. These factors are also functions of operating temperature, operating pressure, and rotor speed, thus making them extremely difficult to model for reliability and life predictions. To develop a better understanding of the physics behind blow-down as well as gain further insight into the general behavior of brush seals under different operating conditions, a brush seal incorporating fiber Bragg grating sensors was fabricated and experimentally tested at GE Global Research. Fiber Bragg grating technology and brush seal technology form a synergistic relationship. The fiber Bragg grating sensor cables can be inserted within the heart of a brush seal bristle pack to interrogate the seal’s health and operating environment without limiting or interfering with the sealing capability of the brush seal. As a consequence, thermal profiles and strain levels within a brush seal can be measured directly. Multifunctional fiber Bragg grating sensors are a platform for integral turbomachinery health prognostics. In this work, a Kevlar fiber brush seal was augmented with a series of fiber Bragg grating sensors designed to measure the thermal and the dynamic strain response of the seal. A series of tests were then performed to validate the proposed concept of using fiber Bragg grating sensors to interrogate the seal. The results of the experimental work performed indicate that the local thermal transients, bristle pack dynamics, and static strain can all be extracted using fiber Bragg grating sensors.

Streszczenie:
Population aging has been occurring progressively and in Brazil there is an accelerating growth curve. According to the World Health Organization, dementia is one of the greatest public health challenges of the current generation, in which the Alzheimer's disease subtype accounts for the majority of diagnosed cases. In this context, this study aimed to describe the construction of an educational manual to support family caregivers of elderly people diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. This is a descriptive, methodological study. Initially, a bibliographic survey was carried out on the subject in the following databases: CINAHL, SCOPUS/ Elsevier and Pubmed-Medline; using the descriptors “elderly”, “Alzheimer” and “caregiver”. The educational manual was developed on the Figma platform, structured on the basis of the aspects that emerged from the bibliographic survey, considering aspects of language, illustration and layout/design. A group of researchers specializing in the subject was selected for convenience to support the construction of the educational manual. The contents chosen for the educational manual were: What is Alzheimer's disease (AD)?; What causes Alzheimer's disease (AD); The stages of Alzheimer's disease (AD); The symptoms of Alzheimer's disease (AD); How to deal with behavioral changes in Alzheimer's disease (AD); Tips on hygiene, bathing, eating, the environment, cognitive and memory activities; Bibliographical references. The aim of this study was achieved, since the manual entitled “Caring for elderly people with Alzheimer's disease (AD)” was created by selecting content from the main sources on the subject. The limitations of this study are that the subject is not exhausted by the topics covered; however, too much content could make the educational material long and tiring, which is why it was decided to cover the main topics on the subject.

The importance of independent recreational practice for student-athletes is increasing in today’s environment. Therefore, it’s appropriate to prepare relevant recommendations for students undergoing heavy physical loads. The study was mainly aimed at the elaboration of the content of the Health Code for athlete students to render it as a component and method of implementing a self-health system. The theoretical and empirical methods applied during the implementation of the study were as follows: theoretic-comparative analysis, summarisation of relevant data from scientific-methodological publications on physiology, physical culture and sports, oriental medicine, observations, tests, mathematical statistics methods. The study used systemic and axiological approaches of a general scientific level of methodology. The Student-Athlete Health Code consists of recommendations for selecting the means of restoring performance and improving the functional state of the student-athlete body during an educational and training day. This is a set of personal health improvement rules prepared on the basis of modern scientifically reasoned data on hygiene and valeology. The Code’s programme material includes paramedical signs of the optimal functional condition and premorbid status; the authors’ recommendations on wellness devices, health monitoring tests and immune resistance; a brief description of wellness techniques, methods and recipes; express methods of reflexology and minimisation of fatigue and immunity stimulation; illustrative wellness informative tips and recommended literature. The solutions were tested in the educational and training process of students at the Russian State University of Physical Culture, Sport, Youth and Tourism, where 91.57 % of respondents mentioned benefits in their personal health after having followed the recommendations presented in the Health Code.

Streszczenie:
Introduction: The neurological hammer has been a fundamental tool in neurological assessment for over a century. However, its history and evolution are still little known. Objective: This study aims to investigate the history and evolution of the neurological hammer, based on an integrative review of the literature. Methods: A Integrative review was conducted in the Scielo, PubMed, and Cambridge Core databases using the keywords “neurological hammer”, “history of neurology”, and “clinical neurology”. Were analyzed seven articles, and selected one book with historical content to compose the review, published between 1998 and 2021. The analysis included the materials used in the construction of the hammer, its use, and the changes that occurred over time. The aim of this study was to investigate the history and evolution of the neurological hammer. Results: The neurological hammer was invented by Ernst L.O. Oppenheim in 1888, with the aim of creating a softer tool to test reflexes in animals. The original instrument was made of wood and had a soft rubber end. Over the years, the hammer has evolved into a variety of shapes. New materials were introduced in its construction, such as metal, plastic, and harder rubber. In addition, the shape of the hammer’s tip also changed, with the introduction of triangular tips, star-shaped tips, and pin-shaped tips. Conclusion: The history and evolution of the neurological hammer is an important part of the history of medicine and the evolution of diagnostic tools. Knowledge of the evolution of the neurological hammer can help to better understand the origin and development of modern medical practice. In addition, the integrative review presented here can contribute to improving the construction and usage of the neurological hammer in neurological assessments, for the benefit of the patient’s health.

This handbook is the culmination of the NORDGREEN project, which develops and implements smart planning and management solutions for well-designed, high-quality green spaces that promote health and well-being. Researchers and practitioners worked alongside one another in six Nordic cities: Aarhus (Denmark), Espoo and Ii (Finland), Stavanger (Norway), and Täby and Vilhelmina (Sweden). Together, the researchers and practitioners applied methods including GIS data analysis, statistical analysis, PPGIS surveys and analysis, policy document analysis, interviews, and evidence-based design models. The handbook uses an innovative framework based on the multi-disciplinary approach of the project, using epidemiological studies, environmental psychology, policy and management, and citizen participation. These fields of study and their respective methodologies are divided into the four so-called NORD components—NUMBERING, OBSERVING, REGULATING, and DESIGNING—which, accompanied by a BACKGROUND section reviewing the evidence linking green space and human health, form the bulk of the handbook. Some key take-away messages from these chapters include: There is a fairly broad consensus that access to, and use of, natural and green areas have a positive influence on people’s health and well-being. Both perceived and objective indicators for access to green space and for health are needed for making a more comprehensive evaluation for how people’s health is influenced by green space. Citizens’ experiential, local knowledge is a vital component of urban planning, and PPGIS can offer practitioners the opportunity to gather map-based experiential knowledge to provide insights for planning, designing, and managing green spaces. Alignment, both vertically across the political, tactical, and operational levels, as well as horizontally across departments, is critical for municipal organisations to foster health-promoting green spaces. Evidence-based design models can provide important categories and qualities for diagnosing the gaps in existing green spaces and designing green spaces with different scales and scopes that respond to the various health and well-being needs of different people. Based on the research and lessons learned from the six case study cities, the handbook provides practitioners with a TOOLBOX of adaptable methods, models, and guidelines for delivering health-promoting green spaces to consider in their own contexts. By reading this handbook, planners and policymakers can expect to gain (1) a background on the evidence linking green spaces and health, practical tools for planning, designing, and managing green spaces, (2) tips from researchers regarding the challenges of using various methods, models, and guidelines for delivering health-promoting green space, and (3) inspiration on some success stories emerging from the Nordic Region in this area of study. The handbook covers a wide range of health and urban green space topics. Landscape architects will find evidence-based design models for enhancing existing green space design processes. Planners will find methods and guidelines for identifying, collecting, and analysing both qualitative and quantitative green space and health data from statistical databases, national citizen surveys, and map-based participatory surveys. And all practitioners will find guidelines for achieving programmatic alignment in their work for delivering health-promoting green space.

An autoclave is a machine used in labs to sterilize items by applying heat and pressure to kill pathogens like bacteria and viruses. It uses saturated steam to destroy contaminants, making it useful in various fields including dentistry and microbiology. Autoclaves have evolved from basic steam sterilizers to advanced versions. They work by removing air, pumping in steam under pressure, and maintaining a high temperature to sterilize items. Safety precautions include proper training, not overcrowding, and using autoclavable materials. Not everything can be autoclaved; materials like glass, metals, and certain plastics are suitable, while flammable or toxic substances are not. Proper usage and maintenance are vital to prevent accidents.

Streszczenie:
In communities heavily affected by trauma, trauma-informed approaches (TIAs) are essential to minimize unintended consequences and harm associated with receiving clinical, social, and other support services. The visibility of traumatic events continues to increase. In turn, public health teams must build capacity and integrate TIAs into public health research and practice, particularly for communities managing multiple health inequities. Community-engaged approaches have become increasingly common in public health to address health inequity. Community-engaged research (CEnR) is a TIA that public health researchers use to serve traumatized individuals and communities meaningfully and respectfully. CEnR is often intended to address health disparities and inequities, and public health program developers can use similar engagement strategies. Community-engaged public health teams usually include partners from community, research, and other professions, and they often work in minoritized and vulnerable communities. In CEnR and program design, the team can use the principles of TIAs to guide the development and decision-making processes; they can also use feedback during the process to enhance the community benefit of the research and programs being offered. The team can benefit from training to understand and use TIAs to support their work. Finally, community-engaged public health teams can enhance CEnR by building upon the scientific literature about TIAs to extract strategies and practices to extend their impacts on the people they serve and their own organizations.

The main challenges innovation faces in the water, sanitation, and solid waste sector in Latin America and the Caribbean can be split into three categories: governance efforts; sector innovation ecosystem (research, development, and innovation), and water, sanitation, and solid waste utilities. In this line, it is key to acquire knowledge of international experiences to enrich the analysis and thematic discussion on the issue. The III (III) is an NGO that was established in 2011 to promote the development and implementation of innovation addressing global challenges such as transportation, climate change, health, agriculture, aquaculture, and desertification. To this end, The III established innovation ecosystems that connect relevant players with the fields they wish to promote, and created innovation opportunities, always acting objectively and impartially. Over the years, as the III gained experience, it formed a methodology that can be adjusted to and implemented in other sectors and fields to enhance their potential and address existing obstructions. Such methodology can be adopted by NGOs, countries, and regions according to the barriers their ecosystem experiences. Hence, a strategy that one ecosystem chooses may be different from the strategy that suits another. Yet, while the innovation clusters and ecosystems may vary, a common, organizing operational outline can be found in all. The methodology includes tools that were designed to match the development of innovation ecosystems facing new challenges and opportunities. This document opens with a presentation of the positive potential of forming and operating innovation ecosystems and the global trends that make them even more important (section I). The five fields of operation that promote innovation ecosystems are thus presented, each followed by practical examples of relevant tools: (1) market education; (2) social capital creation; (3) access to knowledge; (4) open innovation facilitation; and (5) internationalization in section, alongside practical tools to develop each layer, and the motivation for choosing each, which can assist in selecting from the extensive toolbox (Section II). Finally, some practical tips to start with the right foot are described (Section III).

Rapid technological innovation is reshaping the UK food system in many ways. FSA needs to stay abreast of these changes and develop regulatory responses to ensure novel technologies do not compromise food safety and public health. This report presents a rapid evidence assessment of the emerging technologies considered most likely to have a material impact on the UK food system and food safety over the coming decade. Six technology fields were identified and their implications for industry, consumers, food safety and the regulatory framework explored. These fields are: Food Production and Processing (indoor farming, 3D food printing, food side and byproduct use, novel non-thermal processing, and novel pesticides); Novel Sources of Protein, such as insects (for human consumption, and animal feedstock); Synthetic Biology (including lab-grown meat and proteins); Genomics Applications along the value chain (for food safety applications, and personal “nutrigenomics”); Novel Packaging (active, smart, biodegradable, edible, and reusable solutions); and, Digital Technologies in the food sector (supporting analysis, decision making and traceability). The report identifies priority areas for regulatory engagement, and three major areas of emerging technology that are likely to have broad impact across the entire food industry. These areas are synthetic biology, novel food packaging technologies, and digital technologies. FSA will need to take a proactive approach to regulation, based on frequent monitoring and rapid feedback, to manage the challenges these technologies present, and balance increasing technological push and commercial pressures with broader human health and sustainability requirements. It is recommended FSA consider expanding in-house expertise and long-term ties with experts in relevant fields to support policymaking. Recognising the convergence of increasingly sophisticated science and technology applications, alongside wider systemic risks to the environment, human health and society, it is recommended that FSA adopt a complex systems perspective to future food safety regulation, including its wider impact on public health. Finally, the increasing pace of technological

Streszczenie:
The Nordic Rural Youth Panel has synthesized a report outlining 40 actionable recommendations for making rural areas in the Nordic region more attractive for young people. This paper addresses the ongoing trend of young people moving to cities, highlighting the need for better public transportation, a variety of housing options, and education that connects to local job markets in rural areas. The panel wants to change the common view that success and a good life can only be found in cities, showing instead that rural areas have a lot to offer. The report expands on several key areas: - Transportation: Young people in rural areas need easy and affordable access to public transit and various local travel options to support a fair transition to green transport. - Housing: There's a need for affordable and diverse housing, ensuring young people have good options for both renting and buying that meet their needs, and are linked to local services and community activities. - Education and employment: Young people need access to education at all levels in rural areas, with clear paths from education to local jobs, including options for remote work. - Health and recreation: There should be safe spaces for discussions about mental and physical health, as well as access to places for sports and other activities. - Community and social life: Funding is needed for public spaces and activities that bring people together, helping to create strong community ties. - Inclusion: Policies and discussions need to be accessible and relevant to young people, using their language and platforms to ensure they can actively participate and feel valued. Developed with input from 25 young people across the whole Nordic region, the panel’s recommendations provide a direct and valuable perspective for policymakers. It serves as a guide for creating appealing, dynamic, and sustainable rural communities, ensuring young people are at the centre of these efforts.
