Streszczenie:
Abstract Since 2019, National Weather Service (NWS) offices have been able to issue 360-character Wireless Emergency Alert (“WEA360”) messages for tornadoes. NWS is now considering changing from a “deterministic” to a “probabilistic” warning paradigm. That change could possibly influence how WEA360 messages for tornado are issued in the future. Recent experimental studies have found that probabilistic hazard information (PHI) forecast graphics improve consumers’ risk perception for tornadoes, but findings from these studies concerning whether PHI forecast graphics improve people’s protective action decision-making are mixed. The present study therefore investigated how mock PHI-enhanced WEA360 messages might influence people’s risk perception and protective action decision-making. Analysis of qualitative data gathered from a combination of questionnaire and focus group interview methods conducted in collaboration with 31 community members in Denver, Colorado, indicated that inclusion of PHI forecast graphics within WEA360 messages elicited high levels of understanding and message believability but did not consistently lead to appropriate precautionary intent. Because warning response is a complex social phenomenon, PHI may not significantly improve protective action decision-making if PHI forecast graphics are eventually presented to consumers via the Wireless Emergency Alerts system. Factors that PHI stakeholders should consider before the adoption of PHI-enhanced WEA360 messages for consumers are discussed. Significance Statement This study examines how consumers respond to and talk about mock WEA360 messages for tornadoes that contain embedded PHI forecast graphics. As NWS considers moving to a probabilistic warning paradigm, stakeholders will need to determine how PHI forecast graphics might be communicated directly to consumers, if at all. Our findings suggest that combining WEA360 messages with PHI forecast graphics creates challenges and complexities related to consumers’ assessment of personal risk and protective action decision-making. Overall, the study suggests that any future PHI-enhanced WEA360 messages provided directly to consumers, if at all, must avoid discrepancies (even subtle) between the level of risk represented by the PHI forecast graphic and the protective action guidance included in the text of the messages.

The scientific task, which is solved in the research, is the cognitive display of the state of the national security system with a complex hierarchical structure. As a rule, images are created individually taking into account a specific application field and interpreted by an expert (a group of experts) based on accumulated knowledge. Cognitive mapping is designed to support decision making by an expert (group of experts), monitoring and managing in real time. The object of research is the system of ensuring national security. The subject of the research is the functioning of the national security system. The research developed a method of visualization of the states of the national security system. An overview of the methods of visual graphic presentation of information about the state of multidimensional objects and systems was carried out. The novelties of the proposed method are: ‒ creation of a visual, multi-level and interconnected description of the national security system; ‒ increasing the efficiency of decision making while assessing the state of the national security system; ‒ solving the problem of falling into global and local extremes while assessing the state of the national security system; ‒ combination of graphic and numerical display of controlled state parameters of the national security system; ‒ avoiding the problem of loops while visualizing the state of the national security system in real time. The specified method should be implemented in specialized software, which is used to analyze the state of the national security system and make management decisions.

Abstract Background: Decision aids can increase patient involvement in decision-making about health care. The study goal was to develop and test a decision aid for use by clinicians in discussion options for changing smoking behavior before and after elective surgery. Methods: In formative work, a decision aid was designed to facilitate patient–clinician discussion regarding three options: continue smoking, attempt a period of temporary abstinence, and attempt to quit smoking for good. A randomized, two-group pilot study was then conducted in smokers evaluated in preparation for elective surgery in a preoperative clinic to test the hypothesis that the decision aid would improve measures of decisional quality compared with usual care. Results: The final decision aid consisted of three laminated cards. The front of each card included a colorful graphic describing each choice; the reverse including two to three pros and cons for each decision, a simple graphic illustrating the effects of smoking on the body, and a motivational phrase. In the randomized trial of 130 patients, the decision aid significantly (P < 0.05) improved measures of decisional quality and patient involvement in decision making (Cohen’s d effect sizes of 0.76 and 1.20 for the Decisional Conflict Scale and Observing PatienT involvement In decisiON-making scale, respectively). However, the decision aid did not affect any aspect of perioperative smoking behavior, including the distribution of or adherence to choices. Conclusions: Although the use of a decision aid to facilitate clinician–patient discussions regarding tobacco use around the time of surgery substantially improved measures of decisional quality, it alone did not change perioperative tobacco use behavior.

Social identity recently has become one of the actual subjects of scientific research in social psychology, social cognitive psychology. Social identity reflects conscious and unconscious feelings of a person’s belonging to certain communities, is the context for decision-making in situations of choice. The novelty of the study lies in the analysis of little-conscious aspects of identity, namely the subjective significance of communities to which a person belongs by the fact of his birth or main activity, as well as subjective inclusion in such a community. The author has developed a procedure of graphic representation of social identity based on the techniques used in projective drawing methods. The test person is asked to draw himself and five communities (family, occupation group, locality and country of residence, all people of the world) with the help of circles. This experimental procedure was conducted in nine age groups, starting with 6-7 year olds and ending with working adults. A total of 282 people participated in the experiment. The data (21 indicators) were subjected to factor analysis by the method of principal components. The following results were obtained: for each age group the average sizes of images of self and proposed social communities were revealed, using Student’s t-criterion the conclusions about significant differences in the sizes of images of the country and territory of residence for age groups were obtained. Discussion of results and conclusions. Factor analysis by the principal component method revealed four factors of social identity, which were labeled as: multiple, hierarchical, egocentric, and diffuse social identity. The proposed types of social identity were described, their psychological interpretation was given, and criteria for identification by graphic representation were proposed. The results of the study can be used in pedagogical practice, practice of psychological and pedagogical counseling.

11061 Background: Methods used to visualize and present comparative effectiveness research (CER) impact patient (pt) and caregiver (CG) understanding and ultimately treatment decisions. Evidence-based approaches to optimize DV and comprehension in PC are lacking. We studied the presentation and DV of CER with key stakeholders aiming to overcome health disparity/inequity barriers related to understanding of CER DV. Methods: A panel representing pt and advocate, industry, and health care provider viewpoints provided qualitative feedback on multiple CER DV methods and generated a survey for US PC pts and CGs. Respondents were identified by a market research agency (buzzback, n=192) or a pt advocacy group (ZERO Prostate Cancer, n=58). Respondents first reported on comfort with and understanding of scientific data on PC using a Likert scale, then evaluated a randomly assigned graphic (1 of 2 versions each depicting the same information) for each of 4 topics. For efficacy and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) data, figures showed superiority of treatment over placebo; for safety, figures positively or negatively represented outcomes. For quality of life (QoL), overall QoL and specific QoL domains were illustrated. For each graphic, respondents first suggested their own key takeaway, then selected the best from 4 options, and reason for selection. Graphics were then assessed side by side with better key takeaway selected to create an overall story. Results: Respondents (pts, n=199; CGs, n=51) enrolled between Aug and Sep 2023; 54% were non-White; 52% had an annual income <$75,000/yr; 45% had no college degree. Some respondents reported being uncomfortable/neutral toward PC scientific data (26%) or found data difficult to understand (35%) or overwhelming (29%). >70% identified correct takeaways for Efficacy and PSA. Figures with numerical data showing a difference between treatment groups (Efficacy, PSA) more effectively communicated key takeaways than those without (Safety, QoL). Figures representing pts without toxicity (positive reporting) versus pts with toxicity (negative reporting) were better understood (62% vs 37%) and communicated (67% vs 33%). Respondents (~55-60%) chose the correct key takeaway for QoL figures, not containing quantitative data, and were divided as to which version best communicated the key takeaway. There were no consistent, robust patterns of differences in accuracy of interpretation based on respondent characteristics, especially for top performing Efficacy and PSA graphics. Conclusions: This is one of the first prospective multistakeholder studies in PC to explore comprehension and preferences from a diverse group of pts and CGs. Figures showing a difference between treatments were more accurately interpreted than those conveying parity. We provide a benchmark for best practices for CER DV for pts and CGs to assist in their education and optimize shared decision-making.

The article discusses the problem of visualization of complex multiparameter systems, defined by datasets on their structure, functional structure, and activity in the form of complex graphs and transition of traditional representation of the data acquired by graph mining to a compact image built by pictographic methods. In these situations, we propose using the Unified Graphic Visualization of Activity (UGVA) method for data concentration and structuring. The UGVA method allows coding in an anthropomorphic image of elements of graphs with data on structural and functional features of systems and overlaying these images with the data on the system’s activity using coloring and artifacts. The image can be composed in different ways: it can include the zone of integral evaluation parameters, segmented data axes of five types, and four types of symmetry. We describe the method of creating UGVA images, which consists of 13 stages: the parametric model is represented as a structural image that is converted to a basic image that is then detailed into the particular image by defining geometric parameters of the primitives and to the individualized image with the data about a particular object. We show how the individualized image can be overlaid with the operative data as color coding and artifacts and describe the principles of interpreting UGVA images. This allows solving tasks of evaluation, comparison, and monitoring of complex multiparameter systems by showing the decision-maker an anthropomorphic image instead of the graph. We describe a case study of using the UGVA method for visualization of data about an educational process: curricula and graduate students, including the data mined from the university’s learning management system at the Siberian Federal University for students majoring in “informatics and computing”. The case study demonstrates all stages of image synthesis and examples of their interpretation for situation assessment, monitoring, and comparison of students and curricula. It allowed for finding problematic moments in learning for individual students and their entire group by analyzing the development of their competence profiles and formulating recommendations for further learning. The effectiveness of the resulting images is compared to the other approaches: elastic maps and Chernoff faces. We discuss using graph mining to generate learning problems in order to lessen the workload of gathering raw data for the UGVA method and provide general recommendations for using the UGVA method based on our experience of supporting decision making.

Results. Theoretical aspects of the essence of the concept of sports management, the specifics of chess as a sport, it is argued that chess is a specific type, which is carried out in the form of intellectual martial arts and belongs to the fifth group of sports: abstract games. The system of chess training should consist of physical, technical, tactical, psychological, informational, and intellectual training. The development of chess is closely linked to the development of IT technologies, which makes learning chess more convenient and more effective. A personal computer with installed chess information retrieval systems, programs, electronic databases and Internet resources has the functions of an artificial assistant coach. After studying the essence of the concept of sports management, it was found that it is both a field of human knowledge, and the field of management decision-making, and the category of people united in an economically competitive system for managing a sports organization. Sports management in the context of globalization is aimed at team sports work, requires athletes to coordinate actions and cooperation and is implemented depending on the differential problems of sport.

Background: The main objective was to determine whether the administration of chemotherapy (CT) during the month before intensive care unit (ICU) admission of medical patients with cancer influences the survival rate. The design was a single-institution observational cohort study in an ICU of a tertiary university hospital. Methods: Our cohort included 248 oncology patients admitted to the ICU from 2005 to 2014 due to nonsurgical problems. Seventy-six (30.6%) patients had received CT in the month before admission (CT group) and 172 did not receive CT (control group). The main outcome measures were ICU, hospital, 30-day, 90-day, and 1-year mortalities. We performed survival analysis using the Kaplan-Meier estimator, comparing both groups using the log-rank test, and multivariate analysis using Cox regression adjusted for gender, age, maximum Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA), and delta maximum SOFA to calculate the hazard ratios (HRs) and their respective 95% confidence intervals. This association was also evaluated by a graphic representation of survival. Results: The CT group presented an ICU mortality rate of 27.6% versus 25.5% in the control group. The multivariate analysis adjusted for age, sex, and delta maximum SOFA showed significant differences between the groups (HR: 2.12; P = .009). The hospital mortality rate was 55.3% in the CT group compared to 45.4% in the control group (adjusted HR: 1.81; P = .003). At 30 days, the mortality rate was 56.6% in the CT group compared to 46.5% in the control group (adjusted HR: 1.69; P = .008). Mortality at 90 days was 65.8% in the CT group versus 59.9% in the control group (adjusted HR: 1.47; P = .03). One-year mortality was also higher in the CT group (79% vs 72.7%, adjusted HR: 1.44; P = .02). Conclusion: The administration of CT in the month before ICU admission in patients with cancer was associated with higher mortality in the ICU, in the hospital, and 30 and 90 days after admission when adjusted for the increase in organ failure measured by delta maximum SOFA. We provide useful new information for decision-making about ICU management of patients with cancer.

Abstract Background Hemodynamic response to successful extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (eCPR) is not uniform. Pulse pressure (PP) as a correlate for myocardial damage or recovery from it, might be a valuable tool to estimate the outcome of these patients. Methods We report retrospective data of a single-centre registry of eCPR patients, treated at the Interdisciplinary Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Medical Centre, University of Freiburg, Germany, between 01/2017 and 01/2020. The association between PP of the first 10 days after eCPR and hospital survival was investigated. Moreover, patients were divided into three groups according to their PP [low (0–9 mmHg), mid (10–29 mmHg) and high (≥ 30 mmHg)] at each time point. Results One hundred forty-three patients (age 63 years, 74.1% male, 40% OHCA, average low flow time 49 min) were analysed. Overall hospital survival rate was 28%. A low PP both early after eCPR (after 1, 3, 6 and 12 h) and after day 1 to day 8 was associated with reduced hospital survival. At each time point (1 h to day 5) the classification of patients into a low, mid and high PP group was able to categorize the patients for a low (5–20%), moderate (20–40%) and high (50–70%) survival rate. A multivariable analysis showed that the mean PP of the first 24 h was an independent predictor for survival (p = 0.008). Conclusion In this analysis, PP occurred to be a valuable parameter to estimate survival and maybe support clinical decision making in the further course of patients after eCPR. Graphic abstract

The aim of the work is to study the Ukrainian market for biorevitalization products with the subsequent formation of an information array, which can be used to improve the system for supplying target consumers and for correct strategic marketing decision-making. Materials and methods. Data obtained from 2020 edition of the State Register of 3rd Class Medical Devices (Injection Implants for Soft Tissues), as well as from the State Register of Medicines of Ukraine, the information retrieval system Compendium Online, the database “Regulatory and Directive Documents of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine”, publications in scientific and practical journals connected to the research topic, were used as the main material for the study. The following research methods were employed: content analysis, comparative, analytical, graphic, and marketing research methods. Results. Biorevitalization affects the internal course of metabolic processes in the deep layers of the dermis, thereby accelerating the production of collagen and elastin at the expense of the body resources. Based on the analysis of information sources about the means used in the biorevitalization procedure, two assortment groups were formed: medical devices and cosmetics. An intragroup analysis of the assortment and corporate structure of the studied market segments was carried out, and the availability of the procedure based on various drugs was studied. Conclusions. The pharmacotherapeutic basis of biorevitalization was studied for all spectra of aesthetic problems, which are solved using this procedure under consideration. The established list of preparations for biorevitalization made it possible to divide them into two assortment groups. The most numerous (101 preparations – 96.20 %) is cosmetics group, including one-component (35.25 %) and combined (60.95 %) preparations. The second group embraces medical devices; it consists of 4 preparations (3.80 %). The analysis of brand structure of the studied market segment showed that the leading manufacturers here are Russian companies (21.9 % of the total amount of all preparations is imported from this country). Domestic manufacturers are represented by only one company, Yuria-Pharm, which produces, respectively, 1 drug in three different concentrations. Based on the study of the average cost of the procedure in beauty salons of Zaporizhzhia and the coefficient of accessibility of the procedure based on the varieties of drugs for biorevitalization, it was found that the procedure using Juviderm Volift, RRS® HA SKIN RELAX WITH BoNtA 568® and JUVEDERM® VOLIFT RETOUCH is more affordable for consumers; the least availability is characteristic of the procedure with RRS® HYALIFT® 35.

Aim of the work is to study of the domestic market of vitamin and mineral complexes for pregnant women with the subsequent formation of an information array for making rational decisions on the formation of the pharmacy range of this group of products and information support for women during pregnancy. Materials and methods. The State Register of Medicinal Products of Ukraine, the Compendium Online Directory of Medicinal Products, Internet resources on drug search in Ukrainian pharmacies GeoApteka and Tabletki.ua, Internet resources of online pharmacies, wholesale offers of vitamin and mineral complexes for pregnant women for pharmacies according to the “Apteka” software package were used as research material. The marketing method, monitoring methods, logical generalization, grouping, and graphic were used in the work. Results. Based on the analysis of information sources about vitamin and mineral complexes for pregnant women, two assortment groups were formed: 99 % of the segment is represented by special food products and 1 % – by medicines. We studied the corporate structure of the market, as well as analyzed the socio-economic accessibility for consumers – pregnant women. Conclusions. The Ukrainian pharmaceutical market of vitamin and mineral complexes for pregnant women is dominated by generic multicomponent drugs of foreign production, which have medium availability for the consumer. This situation creates the preconditions for the development of own production of proper quality, which will increase their availability and reduce the economic burden on the consumer – a pregnant woman. The information support of women before the beginning of pregnancy planning and during childbirth is in satisfactory condition. This is primarily due to the need for a woman to see a doctor during pregnancy planning and constant monitoring during pregnancy. On the other hand, pharmaceutical care is not able to compensate for the lack of information on vitamin and mineral complexes for pregnant women due to the peculiarity of the woman’s condition – pregnancy, which requires medical supervision.

Methodology of this research was conducted in two stages, from which the first one included creating three different graphic design solutions combined with three shape categories, and three variations of added value, for the same food packaging. The second part of the research covered an online questionnaire, in which a group of 50 people participated. This questionnaire focused on three variables: graphic design of the packaging, packaging shape and it’s added value. These variables were evaluated using the Likert scale. Through the questionnaire, participants were asked to answer general questions about the impact of the packaging visual appearance and added value, on their decision-making process when buying a product, as well as to choose the most appealing packaging between the given options. The research results showed that customers preferred non-standard packaging shapes and simple graphic design, as well as packaging with added value. The results of this research prove that the aesthetics of packaging has an impact on the customer's perception of a product, which means that packaging plays an important role in product marketing.

310 Background: Our practice is a community-based multidisciplinary oncology-hematology outpatient clinic located in Northeastern Brazil serving a population of three million. Hospitalizations are frequent events for treatment of complications and for palliative care. Patients are distributed in several different units across five hospitals. A team of oncologists, hematologists and other clinicians is organized in daily shifts for ambulatory consults and hospital visits. The group meets every Monday morning in rounds for case discussion and planning. The number of patients, physicians and hospitals involved poses a communication challenge. Methods: In order to improve communication and quality of care, we created a internet application (Teamwork) which provides a patient table sorted by hospital, room number, assistant physician, last visiting doctor, diagnosis and treatment plan. This information is easily accessible from any internet connected computer, tablet or smartphone with a friendly graphic interface. The doctor who admits or consults with the patient is responsible for daily updates. All the multidisciplinary teams may consult and add information. Results: Data from our program between March 2011 and June 2012 demonstrated that on average 7 physicians visited a mean of 21.8 patients daily in 5 different hospitals. With the use of the online application (Teamwork) improvements in quality of care were noticed, including: 1) Admitted patient information was rapidly available for the team, anywhere; 2) Doctors could immediately identify the physician responsible for the most recent visit, improving communication, optimizing time and reducing uneccessary phone calls to make decisions; 3) Doctors out of town could obtain updated information about their patients and contribute to their care; 4) Statistical information was readily available, providing data for improvement of team organization. Conclusions: The use of a simple online database, easily accessible and updatable represents a major step forward in the quality of care as measured by enhanced communication among providers, making it possible to assist patients in several hospitals, in a large city, with minimal communication stress.

The aim of this applied research is to focus on real-life application of multiple attribute decision making (MADM) methods and their adaptation in a way which can be acceptable for business practice. The study will apply the group decision making methods on a Balanced Scorecard (BSC) as a type of performance measurement and strategic decision making. The study is mainly concerned with multiple criteria decomposition method of analytic network process (ANP) method, WINGS technique and entropy. This group of methods had been already applied in several business domains. However, majority of the implementation was only presented as an example how it could work in practice, but they were not investigated from the perspective of how much information they could provide to the management. In this paper, proposed methods will be used to determine which criteria are most important for the company within the Balanced Scorecard and results of all methods will be compared. The aim of this study is, by utilizing group MADM approach, to discover the areas of the BSC which must be improved so that a total performance increases.

The demands of society are constantly evolving, imposing significant pressures on business organizations within the context of sustainable development policy. As a result, organizations have begun to move towards promoting information disclosure through integrated reporting, transitioning from sustainability reports to financial reports. Simultaneously, decisions made to address specific problems are no longer the sole responsibility of a single individual. Challenges now revolve around group decision-making with the aim of achieving a consensus solution. To comprehend the landscape of integrated reporting and group decision-making in the scientific literature concerning sustainable development, a bibliometric review was conducted across major scientific databases from 2008 to 2023. The analysis utilized Bibliometrix, based on the R language, and Biblioshiny for graphic generation. The results indicate a quantitative increase in publications addressing integrated reporting and group decision-making in the context of sustainable development. However, a thematic isolation among existing studies was evident, pointing to an opportunity for future research to bridge the gap and establish more robust connections between the subjects. Credit risk analysis is a core research issue in the field of financial risk management. This paper first investigates the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) as a method of measuring index weights for group decision-making (GDM). AHP for group decision-making (AHP-GDM) is then researched and applied, taking into full account the cognitive levels of different experts. Second, the concept of grey relational degree is introduced into the ideal solution of the technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS). This concept fully considers the relative closeness of grey relational degree between alternatives and the ?ideal? solution in order to strengthen their relationship. The AHP-GDM method overcomes the problem of subjectivity in measuring index weights, and the revised TOPSIS (R-TOPSIS) method heightens the effectiveness of assessment results. An illustrative case using data from Chinese listed commercial banks shows that the R-TOPSIS method is more effective than both TOPSIS and grey relational analysis (GRA) in credit risk evaluation. The two improved multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods are also applied to empirical research regarding the credit risk analysis of Chinese urban commercial banks. The results indicate the validity and effectiveness of both methods.

Contemporary landscape planning challenges require an increasingly diverse ensemble of voices, including regional stakeholders, physical scientists, social scientists, and technical experts, to provide insight into a landscape’s past trends, current uses, and desired future. To impactfully integrate these disparate components, stakeholder-driven research must include clear lines of communication, share data transparently, and slowly develop trust. Alternative future scenario representations aim to generate conversations through discourse, evoke scenario-based stakeholder input, and ensure stakeholder-based revisions to research models. The current literature lacks a metric for gauging effectiveness and a framework for optimal evaluation for future scenario representations. We have developed and applied a metric for a ranked set of compelling scenario representations using stakeholder input from an active research project. Researchers surveyed stakeholders through a case study in Idaho’s Magic Valley to gauge the effectiveness of each representational approach. To improve future stakeholder-driven geodesign projects and gaps in the research literature, this project provides a ranking of graphic strategies based on the stakeholder survey. Additionally, we provide examples and evaluate graphic representation strategies that can stimulate meaningful conversations, create common understandings, and translate research processes and findings to a variety of audiences. The results of this study intend to provide landscape architects, landscape planners, and geodesign specialists with a framework for evaluating compelling future scenario representations for a stakeholder group.

Priority vectors in the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) are commonly estimated as constant values calculated by the pairwise comparison ratios elicited from an expert. For multiple experts, or panel data, or other data with varied characteristics of measurements, the priority vectors can be built as functions of the auxiliary predictors. For example, in multi-person decision making, the priorities can be obtained in regression modeling by the demographic and socio-economic properties. Then the priorities can be predicted for individual respondents, profiled by each predictor, forecasted in time, studied by the predictor importance, and estimated by the characteristic of significance, fit and quality well-known in regression modeling. Numerical results show that the suggested approaches reveal useful features of priority behavior, that can noticeably extend the AHP abilities and applications for numerous multiple-criteria decision making problems. The considered methods are useful for segmentation of the respondents and finding optimum managerial solutions specific for each segment. It can help to decision makers to focus on the respondents’ individual features and to increase customer satisfaction, their retention and loyalty to the promoted brands or products.

Abstract In emergency decision making (EDM), it is necessary to generate an effective alternative quickly. Case-based reasoning (CBR) has been applied to EDM; however, choosing the most suitable case from a set of similar cases after case retrieval remains challenging. This study proposes a dynamic method based on case retrieval and group decision making (GDM), called dynamic case-based reasoning group decision making (CBRGDM), for emergency alternative generation. In the proposed method, first, similar historical cases are identified through case similarity measurement. Then, evaluation information provided by group decision makers for similar cases is aggregated based on regret theory, and comprehensive perceived utilities for the similar cases are obtained. Finally, the most suitable historical case is obtained from the case similarities and the comprehensive perceived utilities for similar historical cases. The method is then applied to an example of a gas explosion in a coal company in China. The results show that the proposed method is feasible and effective in EDM. The advantages of the proposed method are verified based on comparisons with existing methods. In particular, dynamic CBRGDM can adjust the emergency alternative according to changing emergencies. The results of application of dynamic CBRGDM to a gas explosion and comparison with existing methods verify its feasibility and practicability.

This paper proposes an optimized hybrid process of the Analytic Hierarchy Process with the Simple Additive Weighting method for hotel decision-making. This study is important as many sectors including tourism are striving in the post-pandemic era. The proposed hypothesis is proven through a study case of hotel selection which included four factors for the criteria in decision-making, namely price, facilities, class, and location. The supported literature review on the topic described both methods are still widely used for the decision-making process. This study critically analyzed the importance of the selected factors. The superiority of this approach is to measure the validity by considering the depreciated value. To validate our findings, a group of sampling is done by performing the hybrid methods. Calculated results revealed the proposed methods achieve the decision-making process, the hybrid AHP – SAW model was found to be an effective method for assessing the hotel selection process.

The degree of complexity in forest management has increased in the last few decades, not only due to the inclusion of specific new issues (e.g., climate change, social protection, etc.), but also because these new, as well as classic, issues have to be dealt with in a context characterised by multiple conflicting criteria that are evaluated by different stakeholders. Nowadays, the multicriteria issue enjoys a relatively sound tradition in forest management. However, the consideration of several stakeholders, which requires the formulation of management models within a collective decision-making setting, is not that advanced. This paper aims to provide a critical overview of forestry case studies that have been published in primary journals and that deal with multiple criteria and several stakeholders. Based on this overview, some highlights of the most promising methods were obtained, and recommendations for the fruitful use of these combined methodologies for dealing with numerous types of forest management problems are provided.

With the rise of group decision-making and the increasingly complex decision-making environment, preference modeling for decision makers has become more and more important, and many preference modeling methods have emerged. Based on the fuzzy theory, researchers have proposed a large number of preference models to express the subjective uncertainty of decision makers. These methods based on fuzzy theory are collectively referred to as fuzzy preference modeling methods. The fuzzy sets preference model is the first practice of fuzzy theory used in the field of preference modeling, and it is still widely used by researchers until now. Subsequently, based on fuzzy theory, the researchers also proposed linguistic term sets and cloud model. These methods have different representation domains, and are applicable to different decision-making environment. In this paper we give a review of classical fuzzy preference modeling methods and its latest extensions and variants. After the presentation of comparative analyses on the existing methods, we figure out some current challenges and possible future development directions in the field of fuzzy preference modeling.

Considering some complex multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problems, in which decision environment is dynamic, there are various interdependences among criteria, and plans (systematized alternatives) consisting of multiple time sequential interdependent actions, cannot be well handled by means of the existing MCDM methods, therefore, we develop a systematic decision making (SDM) as an improvement and supplement of the classic MCDM in this paper. The SDM is for prescribing methods of evaluating and selecting the most favourite plan (a system) from a group of feasible ones concerning influences of time-varying criteria system under dynamic external environment. Through detailed analysis, we separate a SDM problem into multi-period MCDM subproblems, and then a plan can be a combination of time sequential strategies in which each strategy (a subset of actions) is a feasible decision choice of corresponding MCDM sub-problem. After clarifying variety of interdependences, interactions and interrelationships in the SDM problems, such as criteria-interdependences, action-interdependences, interactions between criteria and criteria system, interactions between actions and strategies, interactions between strategies and plans, interactions between internal environment (criteria system) and external environment, feedbacks from external environment to the corresponding MCDM sub-problems, and interrelationships among MCDM sub-problems and so on, we transform the SDM into multi-period interrelated MCDM model which can be dealt with more easily by using multiple optimization models. At the end of the paper, three typical properties of the SDM are proposed and most of the existing MCDM models are pointed out as special cases of the SDM.

In this paper, an expert classification method is proposed to solve the problem. First, the CatBoost classification algorithm is improved by integrating the 2-tuple linguistic, which can effectively extract the features of samples. Second, the framework of the expert classification is designed. The flow combines the expert resume collection, expert classification, and database update. The field of sorting issues is an active research topic in the multiple criteria decision aid (MCDA). This study extended one of the sorting methods, FLOWSORT, for solving multiple criteria group decision-making problems. Due to the complexity of real-world multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) issues, analyzing different opinions from a group of decision makers needs to ensure appropriate decision making. The group decision-making methods collect preferences of the decision makers and present the best preferences using mathematical equations. The best–worst method (BWM) is one of the recently introduced MCDM methods that requires fewer pairwise comparisons to obtain the criteria weights than the other MCDM methods. In this research, we develop a novel approach to group decision-making problems based on the BWM called G-BWM. This approach helps us to analyze the preferences of decision makers to carry out democratic decision making using the BWM structure. In order to assess the applicability of the proposed methodology and represent its novelty, two numerical examples from the literature with the application to supply chain management (SCM) (i.e., green supplier selection and supplier development/segmentation) are examined and discussed. The results demonstrate the performance of our proposed G-BWM for group decision making in terms of a large number of decision makers, ease of use and achieving democratic decisions in the decision-making process.

An atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk calculator was used to generate a personalized RC&DA that displayed absolute 10-year risk information as an icon array graphic. Patient perceptions of utility of the RC&DA, preferences for decision-making, and uncertainty with risk reduction decisions were measured with a semi-structured interview. Results: Patients reported that the RC&DA was easy to understand and knowledge gained was useful to modify their ASCVD risk. Patients used the RC&DA to make decisions and reported low uncertainty with those decisions. Conclusions: Our findings demonstrate the feasibility of, and positive patient experiences related to using, an RC&DA to facilitate shared decision-making between physicians and patients in an outpatient primary care setting.

AbstractThe aim of this paper is to develop some aggregation operators for multiple-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) with hesitant fuzzy linguistic information. First, the relationship between uncertain linguistic variable and hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set (HFLTS) is discussed. Some operations and aggregation operators for HFLTSs are developed. Second, based on the hesitant fuzzy linguistic weighted arithmetic averaging operator and the hesitant fuzzy linguistic hybrid averaging operator, an approach to MAGDM problem with hesitant fuzzy linguistic information is proposed. Finally, a practical application of the developed approach to supplier selection in a supply chain and a comparative analysis with other methods are presented.

Multi-criteria decision support has long been treated in a single-decision maker framework . It seems that a decision made by a single decision-maker does not reflect reality . There are multi-criteria group decision support methods in the literature . In order to find a collective aggregation method fulfilling good properties , we have in this work , used the median and the quadratic mean to make the Extension of ELECTRE II (EE-II) to the group decision . We have made numerical applications and we have obtained interesting results .

Streszczenie:
The absence of feedback on the quality of decision making complicates the efficacy of methods designed to represent probabilistic information, especially in dynamic decision environments. The present study investigated the effects of changes in task information reliability on the performance of multi-cue judgment across conditions where the reliability of stimulus information was presented as a feedforward information source to enhance performance. Significant decrements in judgment performance were found across discrete changes in the reliability of source information. A Graphic format for presentation of reliability information produced high task performance under high and medium information reliability conditions, whereas an Animated presentation of reliability information produced high task performance under high and low reliability conditions. The results are evaluated in the context of work settings that call for dynamic decision making skills where the absence of immediate feedback is a constraint on performance.

Streszczenie:
Multiple Criteria Decision Making methods, such as TOPSIS, have become very popular in recent years and are frequently applied to solve many real-life situations. However, the increasing complexity of the decision problems analysed makes it less feasible to consider all the relevant aspects of the problems by a single decision maker. As a result, many real-life problems are discussed by a group of decision makers. In such a group each decision maker can specialize in a different field and has his/her own unique characteristics, such as knowledge, skills, experience, personality, etc. This implies that each decision maker should have a different degree of influence on the final decision, i.e., the weights of decision makers should be different. The aim of this paper is to extend the fuzzy TOPSIS method to group decision making. The proposed approach uses TOPSIS twice. The first time it is used to determine the weights of decision makers which are then used to calculate the aggregated decision matrix for all the group decision matrices provided by the decision makers. Based on this aggregated matrix, the extended TOPSIS is used again, to rank the alternatives and to select the best one. A numerical example illustrates the proposed approach.

Streszczenie:
In the current era of patient empowerment and precision medicine, access to timely information is critical to decision-making. Unfortunately, we currently lack patient-specific, real-time data about clinical presentation, risk of thrombotic or hemorrhagic events, key risk factors, and adverse outcomes in patients with venous thromboembolism (VTE). Accordingly, the Registro Informatizado Enfermedad TromboEmbólica (RIETE) investigators developed a tool to provide an open-source, real-time graphic representation of VTE-related data derived from over 90 000 patients with confirmed VTE. This information is intended to facilitate discussion in the informed decision-making process. The current article describes the aims, rationale, methods, and ongoing and future efforts of the real-time VTE infographics developed by the RIETE registry collaborators.

Streszczenie:
The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and PROMETHEE have gained increasing attention in the field of construction management as techniques for the analysis of complex situations and as decision support for decision makers. However, these two methods in themselves or their potential applications to problems of construction management are not sufficiently defined in the existing literature. The environment of group decision-making bring even more challenges. This paper consolidates and critically discusses the current knowledge on the application of AHP and PROMETHEE methods in the light of the specifics of the construction industry. A systematic literature review was used to select the contributions indexed in the databases Scopus and Web of Science. The findings indicate that the studies deal with broad topics and different aspects in different phases of civil engineering projects. This paper provides a useful reference work for researchers and practitioners interested in the application of AHP and PROMEETHEE as tools for group decision-making in civil engineering.
