Objective: experimental study of the influence of neuropeptides on the psychoemotional state of white male rats exposed to “social” stress. Materials and methods. A study of the psychomodulatory effect of neuropeptides (Semax, Selank, ACTH(6-9)-Pro-Gly-Pro, Pro-Gly-Pro, Pro-Gly-Pro-Leu) under conditions of experimental “social” stress was performed on white non-linear male rats. The studied neuropeptides were synthesized at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute”. The study of the effect of neuropeptides on the behavior of male white rats was carried out on the model of “social” stress, the methodological reception of which is the constant residence of animals under conditions of sensory contact in order to form aggressive and submissive types of behavior. The effect of neuropeptides on the psychoemotional state of white rats under conditions of “social” stress was assessed on the basis of studying the behavior of animals in the tests “Elevated сruciform maze” and “Porsolt”. The “Elevated cruciform maze” test makes it possible to study the behavior of animals under conditions of variable stress (with a free choice of comfortable conditions) and allows assessing: the level of anxiety of the animal; symptoms of neurological deficiency. The test “Porsolt” provides an assessment of changes in the motor activity of animals and allows you to study the severity of the depressive state. Results. It was found that the effect of “social” stress on the behavior of male rats contributed to an increase in situational anxiety and the appearance of depressive-like behavioral reactions. It has been proven that the introduction of neuropeptides (Semax, Selank, ACTH(6-9)-Pro-Gly-Pro, Pro-Gly-Pro, Pro-Gly-Pro-Leu) helps to reduce increased anxiety in animals, both with aggressive and submissive types of behavior under conditions of “social” stress thereby providing a psychomodulatory effect. Conclusion. This study expands the understanding of the regulatory role of neuropeptides in the body, demonstrating the possibility of their influence on the psychoemotional state.

Streszczenie:
Abstract OBJECTIVES: Currently there is no standard treatment option for AML patients not fit for intensive chemotherapy. Further clinical challenges include poorer prognosis associated with advanced age. AML treatments among this population have not been directly compared in clinical trials. Furthermore, naïve comparisons of results across multiple trials are subject to bias related to not accounting for within-trial differences from control. Standard (unadjusted) ITC accounts for within-trial efficacy of treatment versus control, providing a valid and robust approach to compare effectiveness between trials. Additionally, simulated treatment comparison (STC) applies ITC methodology and adjusts for differences in population baseline characteristics. Previous ITC and STC of overall survival (OS) demonstrated superiority of combination glasdegib and low-dose ARA-C (GLAS+LDAC) over azacitidine (AZA) or decitabine (DEC). This present study applied ITC and STC of clinical response outcomes between GLAS+LDAC and AZA or DEC among older AML patients unfit for intensive chemotherapy. METHODS: Clinical outcomes for complete remission (CR) and CR plus CR with incomplete blood count recovery (CR+CRi) were indirectly compared between Phase II trial (n=116) GLAS+LDAC individual patient data (IPD) and published Phase III AZA results (n=488), and then between GLAS+LDAC IPD and published Phase III DEC results (n=457). Based on the Decision Support Unit STC guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, GLAS+LDAC IPD regression (which modelled response) was separately adjusted for AZA and DEC patient baseline characteristics. Stepwise models adjusted for key patient covariates and full models adjusted for all patient covariates mutually available between trials including age, sex, having denovo AML or not, bone marrow blast percentage, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status, cytogenetic risk factors, and hemoglobin level. Between trials, CR and CR+CRi were indirectly compared by standard ITC and STC using risk ratios (RR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). RESULTS: Naïve comparisons of CR [GLAS+LDAC (17.95%), AZA (19.50%), and DEC (15.70%)] and CR+CRi [GLAS+LDAC (24.36%), AZA (27.80%), and DEC (25.62%)] favored AZA. However, based on each of the three modelling techniques (standard ITC, STC full covariate adjustment, STC stepwise adjustment), GLAS+LDAC showed superiority over AZA. Compared with AZA, standard ITC estimated that GLAS+LDAC patients were over seven and four times as likely to reach CR [RR=7.67 (1.02, 57.87)] and CR+CRi [RR=4.33 (1.02, 18.29)], respectively. Using STC full covariate adjustment, GLAS+LDAC patients compared with AZA were over nine times as likely to reach CR [RR=9.63 (0.81, 113.95)] and over four times as likely to reach CR+CRi [RR=4.45 (1.01, 19.59)]. In the stepwise STC approach, GLAS+LDAC versus AZA similarly improved the likelihood of CR [RR=8.76 (1.13, 68.21)] and CR+CRi [RR=4.42 (1.04, 18.87)]. Comparing GLAS+LDAC to DEC, standard (unadjusted) ITC found numeric but not statistically significant improvement in CR [RR=3.43 (0.44, 27.00)] and CR+CRi [RR=1.94 (0.45, 8.43)]. STC methods for GLAS+LDAC versus DEC yielded trends similar to ITC. Non-significant trends in numeric favor of GLAS+LDAC were found using both full covariate adjustment [CR, RR=4.31 (0.36, 52.32); CR+Cri, RR=2.00 (0.46, 8.73)] and stepwise adjustment [CR, RR=3.41 (0.28, 41.94); CR+CRi, RR=1.97 (0.45, 8.65)]. CONCLUSIONS: In the absence of clinical trials directly testing less intensive AML treatments, indirect comparison methods apply statistically robust techniques versus naïve comparisons to measure comparative effectiveness. Regarding the likelihood of response to treatment, GLAS+LDAC showed improvement over AZA or DEC. As previously found when comparing OS, both ITC and STC estimated GLAS+LDAC superiority over AZA for both CR and CR+CRi. For GLAS+LDAC versus DEC, ITC and STC found numerical improvement in CR and CR+CRi; however, these treatments were not statistically significant for each of the two response outcomes. Figure 1. Field experiments were carried out in the seasons 2000/2001 and 2001/2002 in Plant Protection Institute, Sooenicowice Branch to assess the influence of foliar fertilizers such as Ekolist PK 1, Ekolist Mg, Mikrosol Z and Urea on healthiness of winter wheat. Foliar fertilizers were mixed with fungicides. The fungicides were applied at full or half recommended doses. The effect of the disease on wheat leaves was evaluated three times in each vegetation season. Remaining green leaf area (GLA) of leaves was also determined. GLA of the leaves F-1 was not significantly different for each combination with different fertilization and different levels of chemical treatment. The application of foliar fertilizer only had no effect on green leaf area (GLA). The results indicate that foliar fertilization of all experimental plots improved leaf condition and therefore halted the development of wheat leaf diseases. The increases of 1000 grain mass and yield was high for each plot where a fertilizer and a full or half dose of a fungicide was applied. Foliar fertilizing with no chemical control had no proven effect on studied parameters.

Streszczenie:
Abstract BACKGROUND: Older AML patients are often NIC and face poorer prognoses. Among less intensive AML treatments, GLAS+LDAC showed improved efficacy vs LDAC alone in a Phase II randomized controlled trial (RCT). Recently, a phase I/II single arm study of VEN+LDAC showed longer overall survival (OS) in naive comparison to GLAS+LDAC. However, naïve comparisons across trials do not account for within-trial efficacy differences from control or different population characteristics. In the absence of clinical trials comparing GLAS+LDAC vs VEN+LDAC, ITC is a more robust approach, and simulated treatment comparison (STC) adjusts for between-trial differences in patient baseline characteristics. In this study, GLAS+LDAC and VEN+LDAC were indirectly compared for survival efficacy using both ITC and STC. METHODS: Median OS and proportion of patients alive at 12 months (12-month OS) were compared for GLAS+LDAC vs VEN+LDAC using individual patient-level data (IPD) for GLAS+LDAC (n=116) and published results for VEN+LDAC (n=61). As the VEN+LDAC study lacked a control group, ITC and STC methods followed the unanchored, single-arm comparison as guided by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence Decision Support Unit. Mean differences (MD) in median OS (months) between treatments were estimated using a modified Bucher ITC approach with 95% confidence intervals (CI). For 12-month OS, significance tests for MDs between treatments were conducted in Stata (MD with 95% CI). While ITC did not adjust for patient characteristics, using STC, GLAS+LDAC IPD were adjusted for VEN+LDAC patient baseline covariates. Full models included mutually reported covariates between trials, adjusting for GLAS+LDAC patients being older, having less denovo AML, higher bone marrow blasts, worse ECOG performance status, poorer cytogenetic risk, and more males compared to VEN+LDAC patients. STC models were estimated both with and without proportional hazards (PH) assumptions, and the best fitting models were applied. RESULTS: In the naive comparison, GLAS+LDAC had shorter median OS (8.3 months) vs VEN+LDAC (11.4 months). Similarly, 12-month OS was lower for GLAS+LDAC (39.4%) vs VEN+LDAC (45.9%). ITC found non-significant differences between GLAS+LDAC and VEN+LDAC for median OS [MD=-3.09 (-9.34, 3.17)] and 12-month OS [MD=-0.07 (-0.23, 0.10)], with numeric trends favoring VEN+LDAC (as shown in the Table). With full STC adjustment, PH models showed numeric but not statistical superiority of GLAS+LDAC vs VEN+LDAC for median OS [e.g., Gompertz-derived MD=0.60 (-4.43, 5.62)]. In contrast, full covariate models without the PH assumption estimated numeric but not statistical superiority of VEN+LDAC [e.g., lognormal-derived MD=-0.50 (-5.52, 4.51)]. Stepwise model results reflected full covariate adjustments: PH models numerically favored GLAS+LDAC over VEN+LDAC by about one month [e.g., exponential-derived MD=0.89 (-4.13, 5.90)]. Among models relaxing the PH assumption, the gamma estimate numerically favored GLAS+LDAC over VEN+LDAC [MD=0.39 (-4.63, 5.41)]. For 12-month OS, with all STC approaches, differences between GLAS+LDAC and VEN+LDAC were not statistically significant. After full covariate adjustment, slight numeric improvement with GLAS+LDAC vs VEN+LDAC was found for PH models [e.g., Gompertz-derived MD=0.04 (-0.13, 0.21)] and non-PH models [e.g., lognormal-derived MD=0.01 (-0.16, 0.17)]. Stepwise covariate models generated highly similar results (data not shown). CONCLUSIONS: Although GLAS+LDAC and VEN+LDAC have not been directly compared in a clinical trial, ITC and STC approaches found no difference between the two treatments comparing median OS and 12-month OS. Moreover, indirect approaches may introduce less bias than naïve comparisons, as methods can include statistical testing of differences and adjusting for population baseline differences. Standard ITC, which account for within-trial improvements from placebo could not be performed due to the single-arm design of the VEN+LDAC study. Furthermore, single-arm, open-label trials such as the VEN+LDAC study may overestimate treatment effectiveness, and GLAS+LDAC estimates originated from a robustly conducted RCT. As there was no evidence of statistical differences between treatments, health care stakeholders should continue to prioritize RCT evidence generation and minimize inferences from naïve comparisons. Streszczenie:
Abstract Objectives Skeletal muscle (SkM) regeneration post injury is reliant on SkM-specific stem cells (muscle progenitor cells [MPCs]) and a well-orchestrated myogenic program. The regenerative process is impaired with advancing age, potentiating pathological SkM remodeling (infiltration of fat and fibrotic tissues). We have previously demonstrated that the nutritionally non-essential amino acids serine (Ser) and glycine (Gly) are required for early stages of SkM regeneration (MPC proliferation). However, Ser and Gly availability (SkM and circulating) declines with aging. The objective was to test the hypothesis that reduced endogenous Ser/Gly during regeneration promotes pathological SkM remodeling in aged animals. Methods Old mice (∼20 months of age) were given a Ser/Gly depleted diet (SGdep) or an isonitrogenous, isoenergetic diet containing Ser/Gly (SGcont) for 4 weeks followed by notexin-induced injury to the tibialis anterior (TA) SkM. At 28 days post injury the TA was harvested and histological analysis of SkM morphology (H&E and immunofluorescence [IF]) and gene expression analyses (qPCR) were completed. Results Old mice receiving the SGdep diet had a shift toward reduced myofiber size and enhanced adipocyte infiltration in the SkM. Adipocyte infiltration was confirmed with IF of perilipin-1, an adipocyte marker. Uninjured mice on the SGdep diet did not demonstrate altered SkM morphology. Gene expression analysis of differentially expressed genes underlying SkM remodeling (reduced myofiber size and increased fat infiltration) with SGdep is ongoing. Conclusions Reduced Ser and Gly availability following injury instigates SkM remodeling in old mice, which could explain in part age-related impairments in SkM regeneration. This research underscores the essentiality of Ser and Gly for the SkM regenerative process particularly with advancing age. Streszczenie:
This is an interdisciplinary, mixed-method thesis that explores contemporary curation as a means to creatively activate heritage collections and places. The central case study is Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute (BMI), in Ballarat, Australia, where practice and action-led research was undertaken by the curator over the three-year period 2016–2019. Creative connections between five interlinked areas are critically examined: heritage; curatorial practice, by which heritage sites, collections and experiences are managed; historic cultural organisations; their city contexts; and the ways in which such cultural work is valued. The framework for analysis encompasses museology, critical heritage, and approaches to cultural value. Contemporary urban Mechanics’ Institutes (MIs) are placed in the museum context both through historic parallels and their contemporary positioning in the GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives and museums) industry sector. This is in order to ask how heritage collections, and the organisations that house and present them, can creatively connect with the publics they serve with greater connectivity and relevance. Exhibitions and events held at BMI within Ballarat city are treated as case studies. Together with qualitative interviews with staff in the Ballarat GLAM sector and urban MIs, insights derived illuminate the role and challenges of such cultural organisations in the twenty-first century. It is argued that, when employing the practice and energy of the curator, creative activations have the potential to open new points of entry to, and provide alternative perspectives upon, heritage places and collections. This is achieved through arts practice, organisational thinking, and bringing to life the links between past, present and future. In this process, new and dynamic measures of value can be explored and create dialogic encounters between people, heritage and ideas.

Developing 3D digital models of artefacts, monuments, excavations and historic landscapes as part of digital documentation is becoming common in the field of heritage management, virtual tourism, immersive Due to the present pandemic situation with restricted social distancing; gallery, library, archive, and museum (GLAM) industries are facing an incremental burden on both their income and visitor traffic, which is affecting their survival. As a way out, we can see some GLAM institutes are trying to expand their collections on digital platforms for showcasing and promoting virtual visits. Numerous online portals and repositories are evolving for archiving, sharing, and trading 3D models are also evolving to support this digital vibe. This chapter explains the basics of photogrammetry and its development workflow, including data acquisition (photo shooting), data processing and a few post-processing tools. visualisation and scientific research. Such 3D reconstruction or 3D data acquisition form a laser scanning process involves high costs, manual labour and substantial expertise. On the other hand, Image-based 3D modelling photogrammetry software offers a comparatively inexpensive alternative and can handle the task with ease. Besides, documenting heritage artefacts with free and open-source software (FOSS) in supporting photogrammetry is getting popular for quality data production.

Abstract I saw Einstein for the last time in December 1954. As he had not been well, he had for some weeks been absent from the Institute, where he normally spent a few hours each morning. Since I was about to take a term’s leave from Princeton, I called Helen Dukas and asked her to be kind enough to give my best wishes to Professor Einstein. She suggested I come to the house for a brief visit and a cup of tea. I was, of course, glad to accept. After I arrived, I went upstairs and knocked at the door of Einstein’s study. There was his gentle ‘Come.’ As I entered, he was seated in his arm chair, a blanket over his knees, a pad on the blanket. He was working. He put his pad aside at once and greeted me. We spent a pleasant half hour or so; I do not recall what was discussed. Then I told him I should not stay any longer. We shook hands, and I said goodbye. I walked to the door of the study, not more than four or five steps away. I turned around as I opened the door. I saw him in his chair, his pad back on his lap, a pencil in his hand, oblivious to his surroundings.

Populizam krizu vidi kao krizu političkog personala i rešenje traži u jačanju legitimiteta kroz smenu etabliranih stranaka i političara i masovnu podršku novim političkim elitama i novim vođama.

The collections of galleries, libraries, archives and museums (GLAM) are still scattered in the work units at LIPI. To manage these collections, adequate human resources, both quantitative and qualitative, are needed. When this research was conducted, there was a socialization activity to collaborate the GLAM management among work units at LIPI. This study aims to determine human resources available in developing GLAM at LIPI. The research method used was qualitative research. Analysis of data in qualitative research was carried out narratively. The research results show that human resources for gallery/museum exhibition at LIPI have been managed by the Center for the Utilization and Innovation of Science and Technology (PPII)-LIPI in collaboration with third parties since 2020. There were 49 librarians (37 expert librarians and 12 skilled librarians), while the number of archivists was 141 (one hundred and forty-one) people (83 Expert Archivists and 58 Skilled Archivists). The collaboration of PPII-LIPI with third parties has carried out human resources for museum management at LIPI since 2020. To improve the quality, human resources managing GLAM at LIPI need to be continuously improved, both through formal and non-formal education. The number of librarians and archivists are sufficient, but they must improve their abilities, considering that the GLAM institution at LIPI will just be developed. Of course, this GLAM is still perceived as a new institution by librarians and archivists at LIPI. It is recommended that during the development of the GLAM, gallery and museum management can be carried out by LIPI employees who have competence in galleries and museums.
