Abstract Late 16th- and early 17th-century Italian theatrical works (with or without music) based on the Book of Judith are perceived as associated with women, who acted as their performers (in female monasteries), dedicatees, or patrons. Abstract L’ipotesi. di massimizzazione della ricchezza sostiene che una transazione o qualche altra modifica nell’uso o nella proprietà delle risorse dev’essere giudicata positivamente se in conseguenza di essa aumenta la ricchezza della collettività.Quest’ipotesi è stata sottoposta a numerose critiche, la prima delle quali, in ordine logico, è che essa attribuisce un ruolo eccessivo alla capacità delle persone di compiere scelte razionali, non distinguendo tra le valutazioni «ex-ante» e quelle «ex-post».Un’obiezione più seria è che le scelte sono vincolate dalla distribuzione della ricchezza.
