Streszczenie:
To investigate the influence of combustion modifiers on the curing of glycidyl azide polymer spherical propellants (GAPSPs), the curing process of the GAPSPs was explored using an isothermal rheological measurement method. The parameters of cure kinetics were solved to further establish a kinetic model for the curing reaction of GAPSPs. The results showed that the curing process of GAPSPs under isothermal conditions conformed to the Kamal and LSK (Lu–Shim–Kim) models. The model data indicated significant agreement with the experimental data. The influence of four kinds of combustion performance modifiers on the curing process was explored and the results demonstrated that lead phthalate had a catalytic effect on the curing reaction of GAPSPs, whilst oxides of lead and copper, and copper adipate had no influence on the curing reaction.

Streszczenie:
Introduction. The Global Antiphospholipid Syndrome Score (GAPSS) is a tool proposed to quantify the risk of clinical manifestations associated with antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) and certain cardiovascular risk factors.Objective. To validate GAPSS in a cohort of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus in Russia.Material and methods. 115 patients with SLE were included in the study, including 51 (44%) patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), 14 (12%) – SLE with aPL, and 50 (44%) – SLE.Results. There was a history of thrombosis in 58 (50%) patients with 115, of them 14 (24%) had arterial thrombosis, 29 (50%) – venous, 15 (26%) – combined. Pregnancy against the background of the disease occurred in 43 women included in the study. Of them, 29 (67%) had obstetric pathology. Patients with thrombosis and obstetric pathology had a GAPSS score of 7.17±5.64, versus 4.48±4.55 without these manifestations (p=0.0003). There was a significant association between GAPSS levels and thrombosis – patients with thrombosis had a GAPSS of 7.31±5.70, those without thrombosis – 4.00±4.81 (p=0.001). GAPPS values were higher in arterial thrombosis compared to venous thrombosis (10.40±25.30 versus 5.82±5.28; p=0.01). GAPSS levels ≥6 and ≥10 were analyzed to select GAPSS values at which a high risk of recurrent thrombosis and/or obstetric pathology could be indicated. All GAPSS levels had a significant association with clinical manifestations of APS. The quality of GAPSS by ROC analysis showed an area under the curve (AUC) for GAPSS of 0.697.Conclusion. GAPSS can be used to assess the risk of recurrence or development of thrombosis and/or obstetric pathology in patients with SLE in the Russian Federation. The GAPSS ≥6 values should be used to stratify patients with SLE into high risk group for recurrence of vascular complications. Further prospective follow-up is needed to confirm the value of GAPSS.

A new multimodal particle swarm optimization algorithm based on greedy algorithm (GAPSO) is proposed in this paper. A ring topology is employed in each niche instead of a fully connected topology in GAPSO. More importantly, GAPSO does not depend on any niching parameter, which improves its effectiveness and efficiency greatly. A range of standard test functions are employed to test this proposed algorithm's performance. Experimental results demonstrate that GAPSO performs as well as existed optimization algorithms, and needs smaller number of evaluations to locate all the global optima for simple problems. For complex problems, GAPSO can achieve better and more consistent performance, and can locate more global optima than SPSO, ANPSO and rpso, which makes it possible to be widely used in the real world.

Stratification of patients into groups of high and low risk of adverse outcome is necessary for timely and early prevention of the disease, as well as the selection of adequate therapy. Objective: to validate the global risk scale for the development of clinical manifestations of antiphospholipid syndrome (GAPSS) in a cohort of patients with primary antiphospholipid syndrome (PAPS).Material and methods. The study included 64 patients with PAPS. Data on clinical manifestations, traditional cardiovascular risk factors, and antiphospholipid antibody profile were collected. GAPSS values were calculated for each patient by summing the scores corresponding to risk factors as follows: 3 points – for hyperlipidemia; 1 point – for arterial hypertension; 5 points – for antibodies to cardiolipin (aCL) IgG/IgM; 4 points – for antibodies to â2-glycoprotein 1 (anti-â2GP1) IgG/IgM and 3 points – for antibodies to the phosphatidylserine-prothrombin complex (aPS/PT) IgG/IgM.Results and discussion. GAPSS indicators were comparable in women and men with PAPS – 12.0 [9.0; 13.0] points. GAPSS values did not differ in patients with thrombosis and obstetric pathology: in thrombosis they were 10.0±4.46 (range 0.0–14.0) points, in obstetric pathology – 9.26±5.08 (range 0.0–14.0) points. The localization of thrombosis did not affect the GAPSS values, which reached 9.23±5.21 points in arterial thrombosis, 10.44±4.01 points in venous thrombosis, and 10.33±4.18 points in combined ones. Patients with recurrent thrombosis had higher GAPSS scores compared to patients without relapse: 8.19±5.25 points versus 11.00±3.65 points (p=0.01). There were no significant differences in GAPSS scores in obstetric pathology at different gestational ages.GAPSS values ≥6 showed a higher risk of thrombosis recurrence: odds ratio 5.23 (95% CI 1.34–20.37). GAPSS scores ≥6 demonstrated the highest accuracy, with sensitivity and specificity of 72% and 66%, respectively. According to ROC analysis, the AUC value for GAPSS was 0.675 (95% CI 0.542–0.808; p=0.01).Conclusion. The use of GAPSS makes it possible to identify patients at increased risk of recurrent thrombosis. GAPSS scores ≥6 have high sensitivity (72%) and specificity (66%), which can be used to stratify patients with PAPS into high and low risk groups for recurrent thrombosis.

This paper presents a Genetic Algorithm for Production Systems Optimization (GAPSO). The GAPSO finds an ordering of Condition Elements (CEs) in the rules of a Production System (PS) that results in a (near) optimal PS with respect to execution time. Finding such an ordering can be difficult since there is often a large number of ways to order CEs in the rules of a PS. Additionally, existing heuristics to order CEs in many cases conflict with each other. The GAPSO is applicable to PSs in general and no assumptions are made about the matching algorithm or the interpreter that executes the PS. The results of applying the GAPSO to some example PSs are presented. In all examples, the GAPSO found an optimal ordering of CEs in a small number of iterations.

Objective This study aimed to assess prospectively the role of anti-ß2-glycoprotein I domain I antibody (aß2GPI-DI) and the Global Antiphospholipid Syndrome Score (GAPSS) in identifying antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) patients at higher risk of a new event. Methods Thrombotic APS patients were followed from May 2013 to July 2017. At baseline, we measured lupus anticoagulant, IgG/IgM anticardiolipin, anti-ß2-glycoprotein I, antiphosphatidylserine-prothrombin (aPS/PT) and IgG aß2GPI-DI, and calculated GAPSS for each patient. Results A total of 44 patients (age 43 ± 10 years, 89% female, 73% primary APS) were followed for 39 months (range 9–46 months). Four new thromboses occurred, two of them after vitamin K antagonist interruption. Recurrent patients presented higher GAPSS (median 20) and were triple and aß2GPI-DI positive; non-recurrent patients had lower GAPSS (median 10.5, range 0–20) and lower ratio of triple (33%) and aß2GPI-DI positivities (38%). aß2GPI-DI was associated with higher GAPSS (median 19 vs. 7, p < 0.001; Pearson correlation 0.82, p < 0.001) and had a greater proportion of triple (83% vs. 4%, p < 0.001) and aPS/PT positivity (94% vs. 50%, p = 0.002). Conclusion Our data show a significant correlation between a validated risk score such as GAPSS and the novel antiphospholipid antibody aß2GPI-DI. Future studies are needed. However, one could speculate a role of aß2GPI-DI as a risk-stratifying tool for thrombotic events in APS.

AbstractThis paper presents characteristics of model-based optimization methods utilized within the Generalized Self-Adapting Particle Swarm Optimization (GA– PSO) – a hybrid global optimization framework proposed by the authors. GAPSO has been designed as a generalization of a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm on the foundations of a large degree of independence of individual particles. GAPSO serves as a platform for studying optimization algorithms in the context of the following research hypothesis: (1) it is possible to improve the performance of an optimization algorithm through utilization of more function samples than standard PSO sample-based memory, (2) combining specialized sampling methods (i.e. PSO, Differential Evolution, model-based optimization) will result in a better algorithm performance than using each of them separately. The inclusion of model-based enhancements resulted in the necessity of extending the GAPSO framework by means of an external samples memory - this enhanced model is referred to as M-GAPSO in the paper. We investigate the features of two model-based optimizers: one utilizing a quadratic function and the other one utilizing a polynomial function. We analyze the conditions under which those model-based approaches provide an effective sampling strategy. Proposed model-based optimizers are evaluated on the functions from the COCO BBOB benchmark set.

To improve the seeding motor control performance of electric-driven seeding (EDS), a genetic particle swarm optimization (GAPSO)-optimized fuzzy PID control strategy for electric-driven seeding was designed. Since the parameters of the fuzzy controller were difficult to determine, two quantization factors were applied to the input of the fuzzy controller, and three scaling factors were introduced into the output of fuzzy controller. Genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) were combined into GAPSO by a genetic screening method. GAPSO was introduced to optimize the initial values of the two quantization factors, three scaling factors, and three characteristic functions before updating. The simulation results showed that the maximum overshoot of the GAPSO-based fuzzy PID controller system was 0.071%, settling time was 0.408 s, and steady-state error was 3.0693 × 10−5, which indicated the excellent control performance of the proposed strategy. Results of the field experiment showed that the EDS had better performance than the ground wheel chain sprocket seeding (GCSS). With a seeder operating speed of 6km/h, the average qualified index (Iq) was 95.83%, the average multiple index (Imult) was 1.11%, the average missing index (Imiss) was 3.23%, and the average precision index (Ip) was 14.64%. The research results provide a reference for the parameter tuning mode of the fuzzy PID controller for EDS.

Redundancy-allocation problem i.e. RAP is among the reliability optimization problems which make use of non-linear programming method to improve the reliability of complex system. The objective of this research paper is reliability optimization through the application of Genetic Algorithm i.e. GA and Hybrid Genetic & Particle Swarm Optimization (H-GAPSO) on a RAP. Certain shortcomings have been seen when results are obtained by application of single algorithms. In order to get rid of these shortcomings, HGA-PSO is introduced where attractive properties of GA and PSO are combined. This hybrid method makes use of iterative process of GA after obtaining initial best population from PSO. Comparative Analysis of results of GA and H-GAPSO is done with respect to reliability and computation (CPU) time and it is observed that H-GAPSO improved system reliability up to maximum by 63.10%. MATLprogramming has been used for computation of results from GA and HGA-PSO algorithms.

This study aimed to screen for thyroid dysfunction using Raman spectroscopy combined with an improved support vector machine (SVM). In spectral analysis, in order to further improve the classification accuracy of the SVM algorithm model, a genetic particle swarm optimization algorithm based on partial least squares is proposed to optimize support vector machine (PLS-GAPSO-SVM). In order to evaluate the performance of the algorithm, five optimization algorithms are used: grid search-based SVM (Grid-SVM), particle swarm optimization algorithm-based SVM (PSO-SVM), genetic algorithm-based SVM (GA-SVM), artificial fish coupled uniform design algorithm-based SVM (AFUD-SVM), and simulated annealing particle swarm optimization algorithm-based SVM (SAPSO-SVM). In this experiment, serum samples from 95 patients with confirmed thyroid dysfunction and 90 serum samples from normal thyroid function were used for Raman spectroscopy. The experimental results show that the GAPSO-SVM algorithm has a high average diagnostic accuracy of 95.08% and has high sensitivity and specificity (91.67%, 97.96%). Compared with the traditional optimization algorithm, the algorithm has high diagnostic accuracy, short execution time, and good reliability. It can be seen that Raman spectroscopy combined with GAPSO-SVM diagnostic algorithm has enormous potential in noninvasive screening of thyroid dysfunction.

The waste mine water is produced in the process of coal mining, which is the main cause of mine flood and environmental pollution. Therefore, economic treatment and efficient reuse of mine water is one of the main research directions in the mining area at present. It is an urgent problem to use an intelligent algorithm to realize optimal allocation and economic reuse of mine water. In order to solve this problem, this paper first designs a reuse mathematical model according to the mine water treatment system, which includes the mine water reuse rate, the reuse cost at different stages and the operational efficiency of the whole mine water treatment system. Then, a hybrid optimization algorithm, GAPSO, was proposed by combining genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO), and adaptive improvement (TSA-GAPSO) was carried out for the two optimization stages. Finally, simulation analysis and actual data detection of the mine water reuse model are carried out by using four algorithms, respectively. The results show that the hybrid improved algorithm has better convergence speed and precision in solving the mine water scheduling problem. TSA-GAPSO algorithm has the best effect and is superior to the other three algorithms. The cost of mine water reuse is reduced by 9.09%, and the treatment efficiency of the whole system is improved by 5.81%, which proves the practicability and superiority of the algorithm.

Most of the microscopic traffic simulation programs used today incorporate car-following and lane-change models to simulate driving behaviour across a given area. The main goal of this study has been to develop an automatic calibration process for the parameters of driving behaviour models using metaheuristic algorithms. Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and a combination of GA and PSO (i.e. hybrid GAPSO and hybrid PSOGA) were used during the optimization stage. In order to verify our proposed methodology, a suitable study area with high bus volume on-ramp from the O-1 Highway in Istanbul has been modelled in VISSIM. Traffic data have been gathered through detectors. The calibration procedure has been coded using MATLAB and implemented via the VISSIM-MATLAB COM interface. Using the proposed methodology, the results of the calibrated model showed that hybrid GAPSO and hybrid PSOGA techniques outperformed the GA-only and PSO-only techniques during the calibration process. Thus, both are recommended for use in the calibration of microsimulation traffic models, rather than GA-only and PSO-only techniques.

This study discusses hardware-software partitioning, which is useful for system-on-chip (SoC) applications. Hardware-software partitioning attempts to obtain the lowest execution time by combining a hardware processor system and a field programmable gate array on the SoC platform in embedded system applications. A three-level hybrid algorithm called GAGAPSO is proposed in this study. The algorithm consists of two successive genetic algorithms (GAs) and one particle swarm optimization (PSO). The drawbacks of these two algorithms are GA has low convergence speed and PSO has premature convergence because of low diversity. These algorithms are combined in this study to achieve high-capacity global convergence and enhanced search efficiency. In this study, three algorithms are developed, namely, GA, GAPSO and GAGAPSO using MATLAB. These algorithms are evaluated on the basis of the number of nodes and the minimum cost that can be achieved. The number of nodes varies from 10 to 1000 nodes. The minimum cost and the number of iterations to achieve the minimum cost are recorded. Results show that GAGAPSO can converge faster than GA and GAPSO. Furthermore, GAGAPSO can achieve the lowest cost for all nodes.

This paper presents an optimization of the radiation and absorption characteristics of modified Yagi-Uda (YU) nanoantenna arrays. Four geometries of antennas are considered: conventional YU fed by voltage source and transmission line, and YU with a loop element fed by voltage source and transmission line. The numerical electromagnetic simulations of these nanoantennas were made by the method of moments (MoM). The optimization method used is the adaptive fuzzy GAPSO, which consists of hybridization between genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO), with a fuzzy system employed to adapt the inertial weight ω and the acceleration coefficients C1 and C2 of PSO. The optimized results show that the modified YU nanoantennas present better characteristics of gain, directivity, and radiation efficiency than the conventional YU antenna.

Objective: To investigate possible differences in levels of ovarian reserve between antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) asymptomatic carriers and antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) patients, by measuring the levels of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH). Methods: We enrolled 69 premenopausal women divided in 2 groups: a) patients with APS, either primary (PAPS) or secondary (SAPS), according to the Sydney classification criteria; b) asymptomatic aPL carriers. Aged-matched premenopausal healthy donors (HDs) were also recruited. Complete aPL testing was performed and AMH levels were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: Among the 69 patients included in the study, 22 were diagnosed with PAPS, 13 with SAPS, and 14 patients were asymptomatic aPL carriers. No differences in AMH levels were observed among the three groups [mean AMH: PAPS 3.09 ng/ml ± 1.9 (range 1.02 − 7.1); SAPS 3.1 ng/ml ± 2.2 (range 1.1 − 7.6); aPL carriers 2.2 ng/ml ± 5.4 (range 1 − 6.3)] and between patients/aPL carriers and HDs [mean AMH 2.82 ng/ml ± 2.9 (range 1 − 6.9)]. Any correlation between the global APS score (GAPSS) and AMH levels failed to be found (rho = 0.31; p = 0.073). Conclusion: With the limitations of the current study, as observed in women with APS, we confirm that ovarian reserve, assessed with AMH levels, is not reduced in premenopausal women with isolated aPL positivity. Moreover, when granulating the aPL profile in terms of risk assessment, using the GAPSS, no impact on fertility was observed.

Streszczenie:
In recent years, several countries have proposed targets for carbon neutrality in energy, and the transformation of energy systems has become a research hotspot. As a system capable of coupling multi-energy, achieving high penetrations of renewable energy, and improving energy efficiency, the integrated energy system will take on more responsibility under the carbon neutrality target. This paper uses GAPSO (which combines genetic algorithm with particle swarm optimisation algorithm, has a faster iteration speed, and avoids local optimisation) to solve the Pareto frontier set considering the system operation costs and carbon emission. The system operation costs are described using Latin hypercube sampling (LHS) to predict the stochastic output of the renewable energy source and a penalty function based on the predicted mean vote (PMV) model to describe the thermal comfort of the user, which is solved using the genetic algorithm (GA) algorithm. The carbon emission is calculated using the carbon accounting method.

Streszczenie:
A new metaheuristic method, the BAT algorithm based on the echolocation behaviour of bats is proposed in this paper for optimal design of Power System Stabilizers (PSSs) in a multimachine environment. The PSSs parameter tuning problem is converted to an optimization problem which is solved by the BAT search Algorithm. An eigenvalues based objective function involving the damping factor, and the damping ratio of the lightly damped electromechanical modes is considered for the PSSs design problem. The performance of the proposed BAT based PSSs (BATPSS) has been compared with Genetic Algorithm (GA) based PSSs (GAPSS) and the Conventional PSSs (CPSS) under various operating conditions and disturbances. The results of the proposed BATPSS are demonstrated through time domain analysis, eigenvalues and performance indices. Moreover, the results are presented to demonstrate the robustness of the proposed algorithm over the GA and conventional one.

Streszczenie:
Solving winner determination problem in multiunit double auction has become an important E-business task. The main issue in double auction is to improve the reward in order to match the ideal prices and quantity and make the best profit for sellers and buyers according to their bids and predefined quantities. There are many algorithms introduced for solving winner in multiunit double auction. Conventional algorithms can find the optimal solution but they take a long time, particularly when they are applied to large dataset. Nowadays, some evolutionary algorithms, such as particle swarm optimization and genetic algorithm, were proposed and have been applied. In order to improve the speed of evolutionary algorithms convergence, we will propose a new kind of hybrid evolutionary algorithm that combines genetic algorithm (GA) with particle swarm optimization (PSO) to solve winner determination problem in multiunit double auction; we will refer to this algorithm as AUC-GAPSO.

Streszczenie:
In this paper, a new formula of Power System Stabilizer (PSS) was adopted. The design of PSS and Excitation system (an Exciter) parameters is formulated as an optimization problem. A continuous genetic algorithm (GA) is employed for searching optimized parameters. A multi-objective function includes the deviation in the oscillatory rotor speed of the generator is minimized in time-domain to improve the stability performance of the system. The design is performed using linearized models of a real thermal power system, Al-Zara Thermal Power Station in Syria, at four operating conditions and large perturbation. A cubic Hermite interpolation technique is employed to determine the smoothest possible curve that passes through its data set obtained by the GA. The effectiveness and robustness of the designed stabilizer is investigated and compared with conventional PSS. The simulation results show that the GA stabilizer (GAPSS + GAExciter) are able to provide better damping over a wide operating range with large perturbation and improve the overall systems’ performance.

Background:Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is a rare autoimmune disorder that mainly affects young individuals. Due to the potentially devasting effects of some of its clinical manifestations, such as ischemic stroke and thrombotic microangiopathy, APS can have a deep negative impact on the quality of life (QoL) of the affected patients due to damage accrual (2).To capture the full consequences of the disease, including both thrombotic and extra-criteria APS specific features, the antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) damage index (DIAPS), a 37-item score, was conceived. Objectives:The aim of this study was to validate the DIAPS in a cohort of antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) positive subjects, comparing it to the risk stratification score for the development of clinical manifestations of APS (Global APS Score -GAPSS) and QoL questionnaires filled out by APS patients. Methods:This retrospective study included a total of 84 consecutive persistent aPL positive patients who attended the San Giovanni Bosco Hospital (Turin, Italy). Patients were then divided based on their diagnosis in 3 groups: primary APS (PAPS), secondary APS (SAPS) and aPL positive patients without clinical manifestations of APS, according to Miyakis criteria (1). Demographic, clinical and laboratory characteristics, were retrieved from electronic medical records and are summarized in Table 1. DIAPS was calculated as previously reported by adding together all points corresponding to the clinical manifestations of the patients (3).Results:A total of consecutive 84 patients were enrolled in the study: 39 primary APS patients (PAPS), 28 secondary APS patients (SAPS) and 17 aPL positive patients without APS-related clinical manifestations. APS patients had significantly higher levels of DIAPS when compared to aPL asymptomatic patients (mean DIAPS 2.6 ±1.8 vs. 1.5 ±1.9, respectively; p<0.05). Moreover, SAPS patients had significantly higher levels of DIAPS when compared to PAPS patients (mean DIAPS 3.1 ±1.9 vs. 2.2 ±1.7, respectively; p<0.05). When comparing GAPSS and DIAPS levels in all the patients, we found a significantly positive correlation between these two scores (mean GAPSS 11.9 ±5.2 and mean DIAPS 2.4 ±1.9; Pearson 0.241; p<0.05). Finally, when applying the SF-12 score to our cohort, the mean physical component score and mental component score were lower than the average population (39.3 ±11.3 and 42.3 ±8, respectively) and we observed a negative correlation trend between DIAPS and both PCS and MCS (Pearson -0.133 and -0.183).Conclusion:The DIAPS might be a valid score system for the assessment of APS-related damage and QoL.References:[1]Miyakis S, Lockshin MD, et al. Streszczenie:
BackgroundCardiovascular diseases (CVDs) represent one of the most life-threatening conditions that can affect SLE patients. Assessing the potential CVD risk of these patients is still a challenge and an important aspect in the clinical practice. Recently the QRISK3 score has attempted to encompass for SLE augmented thrombotic risk by adding items (such as corticosteroid use) that are missing in traditional CVD risk scores.ObjectivesTo apply and compare the QRISK3 and the adjusted Global AntiPhospholipid Syndrome Score (aGAPSS), a validated score to assess CVD and overall thrombotic risk in aPL positive patients, in a cohort of SLE patients with and without a concomitant diagnosis of APS.Methods25-85 years old patients attending San Giovanni Bosco Hospital (Turin) during a period of 6 months (Sep 2019 – Feb 2020) with a confirmed diagnosis of SLE (2019 ACR/EULAR classification criteria) and/or a diagnosis of SAPS (Sidney criteria) were included in the study. QRISK3 has been calculated using the official online calculator (https://qrisk.org/). aGAPSS has been calculated using the validated point values based on aPL profile and independent risk factors: aCL=5, aβ2GPI=4, LA=4, aPS/PT=3, hyperlipidemia=3, hypertension=1.ResultsThe analysis included a cohort of 142 SLE patients: 34 SAPS (23.9%) and 108 SLE patients without APS (76.1%), with a mean age of 48±12.9 (SAPS=51.6±12.8/SLE without APS=46.9±12.8). Table 1 summarizes patients characteristics. When focusing on cerebrovascular/coronary events, we found a statistical significance with respect to aGAPSS (pt with event =10.1±6.2 vs pt without event=5.8±6.1; p=0.007), but not QRISK3. Also, a significant association was observed between the occurrence of these events and high risk aGAPSS: p=0.03 for aGAPSS≥8, p=0.01 for aGAPSS ≥9, p=0.008 for aGAPSS ≥10. Moreover, the aGAPSS but not the QRISK3 resulted to strongly correlate with the occurrence of any thrombotic event, both at the uni- and multivariate analysis (univariate: pt with event =8.17±7.1 vs pt without event= 5.41±5.6; p=0.012 / multivariate: p=0.009). The same was observed for gender: male gender resulted to correlate with the occurrence of any thrombotic event at both uni- and multivariate analysis (p=0.017 and p=0.03, respectively). Finally, when focusing on aPL profile, regardless the diagnosis, we found a statistical significance only with respect to aGAPSS (aPL+ =9.6±6.3 vs aPL- = 4.1±5.1; p<0.001).Table 1.Demographic and clinical features of the patients included in the study.ConclusionBy encompassing factors that can contribute to CVD development in complex/autoimmune diseases, QRISK3 has been shown to be more accurate than traditional risk score in predicting SLE patients CVD risk. Nonetheless, the results of this analysis showed how the aGAPSS still seems to be the most valuable tool for this purpose when facing SLE patients. Moreover, the significance observed when focusing on patients’ aPL profile, suggests that adding this item to the QRISK3 could be a useful strategy to improve the management.References[1]Hippisley-Cox J, Coupland C, Brindle P. Background:Antiphospholipid antibody (aPL) specificities are increasing, however the best accuracy for predicting the clinical manifestations of the diseases is still under debate. Objectives:To evaluate the clinical accuracy of aPL specificities both individually and/or in combination, to identify a panel of tests that may provide the best accuracy for predicting clinical manifestations of antiphospholipid syndrome (APS).Methods:We chart-reviewed patients that presented at San Giovanni Bosco Hospital in the last 5 years who tested persistently positive for at least one aPL[1]. Inclusion criteria comprehended: a)Primary APS(PAPS); b) Secondary APS(SAPS), c)aPL positive asymptomatic and d)Patients with clinical manifestations of APS and either inconsistent previous LA positivity and/or low-medium titers aPL(suspect APS).Results:A total of 122 patients were included in the study 38 PAPS, 31 SAPS, 23 aPL positive asymptomatic and 30 low titers APS patients). Table1 resumes the main clinical and laboratory characteristics of the patients included in the study. All patients were tested for five aPL: criteria aPL, anti-phosphatidylserine/prothrombin(aPS/PT) and anti-Beta2Glycoprotein I Domain I(β2GPI-D1).Among the single aPL positivity, β2GPI-D1 showed the best accuracy in predicting the clinical manifestations of APS (AUC 0.639,CI95% 0.539–0.74,p=0.011). Similarly, when investigating the possible combinations of aPL panels, the positivity for aPS/PT IgG/IgM and/or β2GPI-D1 showed the best accuracy in predicting the clinical manifestations of APS (AUC 0.698, CI95%0.604 –0.793, p<0.001) while triple criteria aPL IgG positivity had the best accuracy for predicting recurrences (AUC 0.720, CI95% 0.569–0.871, p=0.012). Results of the ROC curves are illustrated in Figure 1.Figure 1.When considering aPL asymptomatic patients and APS patients (both PAPS and SAPS), the only two aPL combinations that showed a statistically significant association with the APS group were aPS/PT IgG/IgM and/or β2GPI-D1 (OR 4.86,CI95%1.76-13.3,p<0.05) and Global APS Score >11 (OR 2.87, CI95% 1.08-7.6, p<0.05). Interestingly, also adding the patients with suspect APS to the equation, the combination of aPS/PT IgG/IgM and/or β2GPI-D1 remained statistically significant (OR 2.5,CI95%1.02-7.05 p<0.05).Conclusion:Combining anti-β2GPI D1 and aPS/PT improves the diagnostic power of aPL testing and might improve in risk stratification in patients with aPL positivity.References:[1] Miyakis S et al. Streszczenie:
The main purpose of using the hybrid evolutionary algorithm is to reach optimal values and achieve goals that traditional methods cannot reach and because there are different evolutionary computations, each of them has different advantages and capabilities. Therefore, researchers integrate more than one algorithm into a hybrid form to increase the ability of these algorithms to perform evolutionary computation when working alone. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for hybrid genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) with fuzzy logic control (FLC) approach for function optimization. Fuzzy logic is applied to switch dynamically between evolutionary algorithms, in an attempt to improve the algorithm performance. The HEF hybrid evolutionary algorithms are compared to GA, PSO, GAPSO, and PSOGA. The comparison uses a variety of measurement functions. In addition to strongly convex functions, these functions can be uniformly distributed or not, and are valuable for evaluating our approach. Iterations of 500, 1000, and 1500 were used for each function. The HEF algorithm’s efficiency was tested on four functions. The new algorithm is often the best solution, HEF accounted for 75 % of all the tests. This method is superior to conventional methods in terms of efficiency

The second social group most affected by HIV in New Zealand is that of the migrant African communities. As is the case in many resource-rich countries, the number of new HIV diagnoses assumed to have occurred through heterosexual sex has now caught up with those new diagnoses assumed to have occurred through men who have sex with men (MSM). While there is good behavioural surveillance of HIV-related knowledge, attitudes and behaviour (KAB) in New Zealand's MSM population (the GAPSS Surveys), there is very little data available on African migrant communities to provide an evidence base with which informed decisions can be made regarding HIV primary and secondary prevention interventions within these communities. The Mayisha I and II Projects in the UK have been successful in developing community based research collaborations that have resulted in valuable HIV-related KAB data being obtained from their migrant African communities. Such a model of working is now being developed within New Zealand. This paper reviews the UK Mayisha models and how such behavioural surveillance data is being utilised by HIV prevention stakeholders in the UK. It then describes how the model is being modified and developed within the New Zealand context.

Streszczenie:
Abstract In order to effectively reduce the energy consumption of urban rail trains during station-to-station operation, an energy-saving optimisation method for train operating curves is proposed by introducing a genetic algorithm (GA) into a particle swarm algorithm (PSO).Firstly, under the premise of considering the train characteristic parameters and the speed limit conditions of the line, the energy consumption model is established with the constraints such as speed limit, running time and running distance; secondly, the particle swarm algorithm is improved by using inertia weights and learning factor, and the cross-variance operator of genetic algorithm is introduced to verify that the improved algorithm improves convergence speed, global optimization ability and local search ability. The speed-distance operation curve that uses the least amount of energy between stations is then derived by solving the energy-saving operation energy consumption model of the train using the GAPSO algorithm. According to the simulation results, the approach can successfully cut operational energy consumption by 11.46% while still ensuring punctual arrival and exact stopping, which offers a workable solution for the best-case scenario design of energy-saving train operation curves.

Wave compensation technology is crucial to the safety of the ship operation and the accurate placement of load. Its compensation efficiency and the gentle change of the rope tension are particularly important. In this paper, we adopt permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) as the actuator to construct the basic wave compensation system. Firstly, the motion model of ship and load under wave action is established, and the fractional-order PID (FOPID) controller for the position loop of the PMSM is introduced. Then, the parameters of FOPID are optimized by genetic algorithm-particle swarm optimization (GAPSO) algorithm, which is based on genetic algorithms (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithms for better compensation performance. The wave synchronization strategy is used to simulate the load, when it needs to be taken into the water. The non-linear dynamic equations of the rope are solved by Lagrange mechanics and the heave displacement is obtained by time series prediction algorithm. Finally, the effect of wave compensation and wave synchronization strategy are verified on MATLAB/Simulink. The results show that after the compensation, the crane load can follow the set height value very well, the compensation efficiency can reach more than 94%, and the wave synchronization strategy significantly reduces the change of the rope tension.

Through bringing nutrient-rich subsurface water to the surface, the artificial upwelling technology is applied to increase the primary marine productivity which could be assessed by Chlorophyll a concentration. Chlorophyll a concentration may vary with different water physical properties. Therefore, it is necessary to study the relationship between Chlorophyll a concentration and other water physical parameters. To ensure the accuracy of predicting the concentration of Chlorophyll a, we develop several models based on wavelet neural network (WNN). In this study, we build up a three-layer basic wavelet neural network followed by three improved wavelet neural networks, which are namely genetic algorithm-based wavelet neural network (GA-WNN), particle swarm optimization-based wavelet neural network (PSO-WNN), and genetic algorithm & particle swarm optimization-based wavelet neural network (GAPSO-WNN). The experimental data were collected from Qiandao Lake, China. The performances of the proposed models are compared based on four evaluation parameters, i.e., R-square, root mean square error (RMSE), mean of error (ME), and distance (D). The modeling results show that the wavelet neural network can achieve a certain extent of accuracy in modeling the relationships between Chlorophyll a concentration and the five input parameters (salinity, depth, temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen).

The Electronic and optical properties of zirconium dichalcogenides (ZrS2,ZrSe2, andZrTe2),have been explored via ab-initio methods based on the density functionaltheory (DFT) within the frame of generalized gradient approximation (GGA) and a couplingtechnique between the plane wave (PW) and the pseudo-potential (PP) approaches. Theobtained results showed that ZrS2 and ZrSe2 are semiconducting materials with energy gapsof 1.15 eV and 0.3 eV respectively from the valence band maximum located at G point andthe conduction band minimum located at L point, while ZrTe2 showed a metallic characterwith a density of states at the Fermi level of about 0.8 states/eV. Based on a Kramers–Kroniganalysis of the reflectivity, we have obtained the spectral dependence of the real andimaginary parts of the complex dielectric function (ε1 and ε2, respectively) and the refractiveindex (n). The collected data were used for the calculation of absorption coefficient, reflectivity index, conductivity, and electron energy loss function of ZrS2, ZrSe2, and ZrTe2 forradiation up to 20 eV. All three chalcogenides were found to be good absorbers of ultravioletradiation. The reflectivity of ZrS2 is low in the visible and near-ultraviolet region butincreases sharply for higher photon energies and approaches 96% at ~18.5 eV. The R(ω) spectrum of ZrTe2, on the other hand, is non-selective and remains above 50% over a widerange of energies from infrared to ultraviolet which suggeststhe potential application of thismaterial as an effective solar reflector. On the other hand, the refractive indices of ZrS2, ZrSe2,and ZrTe2 in the visible range are high. The optical spectra show moderate anisotropy concerning the electric field polarization of the incident light.

Antiphospholipid antibodies (aPLs) are a heterogenous group of auto‑ antibodies that interact with phospholipids (PL), phospholipid‑protein complexes and phospholipid‑binding proteins. aPLs are pathogenic and associated with the development of thrombosis and pregnancy pathology. The detection of aPLs as a diagnostic indicator is included in the criteria for antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) SLISS 2012. Also, aPLs is found in patients with other autoimmune, infectious diseases and cancer, in 10–12 % of elderly and 1–5 % healthy young people, but do not lead to the development of thrombosis and/or miscarriage. Simultaneous detection of aPLs with different tests indicate bad prognosis and a higher risk of clinical manifestation of APS. Triple positivity for classical markers of disease is found in patients with oncoming thrombosis. Another concept is the Global APS Score (GAPSS) that also takes into account the aPL profile as well as conventional cardiovascular risk factor and also some autoantibodies found in systemic disease. Currently, enzyme‑linked immunosorbent analysis (ELISA) are most widely used test for detection of aPLs. The advantage of new methods for detecting aPLs is to improve the parameters of sorption of antigens, automation, multiplex approach. Thus, new techniques can serve as a tool for the detection of aPLs and contribute to improving the quality of diagnosis of autoimmune diseases.

Streszczenie:
Train operation strategy optimization is a multi-objective optimization problem affected by multiple conditions and parameters, and it is difficult to solve it by using general optimization methods. In this paper, the parallel structure and double-population strategy are used to improve the general optimization algorithm. One population evolves by genetic algorithm (GA), and the other population evolves by particle swarm optimization (PSO). In order to make these two populations complement each other, an immigrant strategy is proposed, which can give full play to the overall advantages of parallel structure. In addition, GA and PSO is also improved, respectively. For GA, its convergence speed is improved by adjusting the selection pressure adaptively based on the current iteration number. Elite retention strategy (ERS) is introduced into GA, so that the best individual in each iteration can be saved and enter the next iteration process. In addition, the opposition-based learning (OBL) can produce the opposition population to maintain the diversity of the population and avoid the algorithm falling into local convergence as much as possible. For PSO, linear decreasing inertia weight (LDIW) is presented to better balance the global search ability and local search ability. Both MATLAB simulation results and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation results show that the proposed double-population genetic particle swarm optimization (DP-GAPSO) algorithm can solve the train operation strategy optimization problem quickly and effectively.

<span lang="EN-US">Device-to-device (D2D) communication has grown into notoriety as a critical component of the internet of things (IoT). One of the primary limitations of IoT devices is restricted battery source. D2D communication is the direct contact between the participating devices that improves the data rate and delivers the data quickly by consuming less battery. An energy-efficient communication method is required to enhance the communication lifetime of the network by reducing the node energy dissipation. The clustering-based D2D communication method is maximally acceptable to boom the durability of a network. The oscillating spider monkey optimization (OSMO) and oscillating particle swarm optimization (OPSO) algorithms are used in this study to improve the selection of cluster heads (CHs) and routing paths for D2D communication. The CHs and D2D communication paths are selected depending on the parameters such as energy consumption, distance, end-to-end delay, link quality and hop count. A simulation environment is designed to evaluate and test the performance of the OSMO-OPSO algorithm with existing D2D communication algorithms (such as the GAPSO-H algorithm, adaptive resource-aware split-learning (ARES), bio-inspired cluster-based routing scheme (Bi-CRS), and European society for medical oncology (ESMO) algorithm). The results proved that the proposed technique outperformed with respect to traditional routing strategies regarding latency, packet delivery, energy efficiency, and network lifetime.</span>

ObjectivesTo assess whether the Glasgow Admission Prediction Score (GAPS) is correlated with hospital length of stay, 6-month hospital readmission and 6-month all-cause mortality. This study represents a 6-month follow-up of patients who were included in an external validation of the GAPS’ ability to predict admission at the point of triage.SettingSampling was conducted between February and May 2016 at two separate emergency departments (EDs) in Sheffield and Glasgow.ParticipantsData were collected prospectively at triage for consecutive adult patients who presented to the ED within sampling times. Any patients who avoided formal triage were excluded from the study. In total, 1420 patients were recruited.Primary outcomesGAPS was calculated following triage and did not influence patient management. Length of hospital stay, hospital readmission and mortality against GAPS were modelled using survival analysis at 6 months.ResultsOf the 1420 patients recruited, 39.6% of these patients were initially admitted to hospital. At 6 months, 30.6% of patients had been readmitted and 5.6% of patients had died. For those admitted at first presentation, the chance of being discharged fell by 4.3% (95% CI 3.2% to 5.3%) per GAPS point increase. Cox regression indicated a 9.2% (95% CI 7.3% to 11.1%) increase in the chance of 6-month hospital readmission per point increase in GAPS. An association between GAPS and 6-month mortality was demonstrated, with a hazard increase of 9.0% (95% CI 6.9% to 11.2%) for every point increase in GAPS.ConclusionA higher GAPS is associated with increased hospital length of stay, 6-month hospital readmission and 6-month all-cause mortality. While GAPS’s primary application may be to predict admission and support clinical decision making, GAPS may provide valuable insight into inpatient resource allocation and bed planning.

Background:Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) have a substantially increased risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE). An individual VTE risk assessment is important to ensure that all patients are assessed and given adequate thromboprophylaxis. Objectives:We conducted this study to develop a risk score for VTE in patients with SLE.Methods:Patients with SLE who participated in the Chinese SLE Treatment and Research group were enrolled in this study. Patient baseline information and clinical laboratory indicators were obtained, and VTE events were recorded every 3-6 months during follow-up visits. The risk prediction model was created and internally validated using the bootstrap methods, and a scoring system was established (Figure 1).Figure 1.Flow chart of study design. Results:Out of 4,502 patients included in this study, 135 had a VTE event. After univariate analysis and Lasso regression, the following 11 variables were identified and included in the risk prediction model: male sex, age, BMI ≥25 kg/m2, hyperlipidemia, hypoalbuminemia, hsCRP>3 mg/L, renal involvement, nervous system involvement, anti-β2-glycoprotein I antibody positivity, lupus anticoagulant positivity, and no use of hydroxychloroquine. The AUC for the SLE-VTE score (Table 1) was 0.947 (95% CI, 0.9249-0.9694). The SLE-VTE score’s sensitivity and specificity with the optimal cutoff value of 13 were 0.919 and 0.881, respectively. The SLE-VTE score was superior to the GAPSS system in predicting the risk of VTE in patients with SLE (AUC= 0.947 vs. 0.680, P< 0.001; integrated discrimination improvement (IDI)= 0.6652, P< 0.001; net reclassification improvement (NRI)= 0.6652, P< 0.001).Table 1.Final multivariable analysis for venous thromboembolism risk in patients with SLE β coefficientsOdds ratio* (95% CI)P-valuePoints in scoring systemMale0.6211.86(0.953-3.503)0.0612Age at study entry(≥50)0.8372.308(1.339-3.915)0.0023BMI02(kg/m20.7922.209(1.333-3.627)0.0023Hyperlipemia0.8382.313(1.246-4.166)0.0063Hypoalbuminemia2.1638.697(5.185-14.794)< 0.0017hsCRP>3 mg/L1.4524.272(2.618-6.968)< 0.0015Anti β2GPI1.0132.754(1.543-4.853)0.0013LA1.5594.752(2.799-8.072)< 0.0015Nervous system2.38210.832(6.163-18.998)< 0.0018Lupus nephritis0.8352.305(1.414-3.756)0.0013No use of hydroxychloroquine1.7715.876(3.722-9.401)< 0.0016BMI: body mass index; hsCRP: Hypersensitive c-reactive protein; ACL: anticardiolipin, antiβ2GPI: anti-β2-glycoprotein I, LA: lupus anticoagulantm;Values in bold are statistically significant at p <0.05.Conclusion:Various factors are related to the occurrence of VTE in patients with SLE. The rapid growth in Indian economy for the next decade is expected to be sphere headed by the startup revolutiondriven by private enterprises. The growth that was witnessed in the last decade could also be largely attributed to MSME. MSME Businesses contributed more than 40% of the growth story of Indian economy. The almost double digit GDP growth achieved between the years 2003-2007 is a result of services and manufacturingsectors, taking off in a big way supported by the startup culture. The startup culture has started showing promising signal of significant contribution in Indian GDP. Particularly in the last three years the starts up fever has gripped this country and have the potential to catapult it into the planned path of economic supremacy. Angel investors, venture capitalist and private equity players in India and from the West have taken a keen interest in funding this technologically and financially viable option on a larger scale. However there exist gapsat the bottom of the pyramid where these technocrats are struggling to raise pre-seed capital which is essential to develop and test their prototype to prove their commercial viability. There exist a big gap between the demand and supply in terms of fund availability. This gap can be easily bridged with the help of popularly emerging option known as crowd funding. Crowd funding has become one of the most talked about avenues for financing of startup pre -seed capital requirement in the past. It has become very popular in the matured economies of the West, particularly in USA, where Web based platforms are emerged as reliable intermediary to bring suppliers and seekers of funds together. It has already begin in India and has provoked a healthy debate and discussion initiated by SEBI to its discussion paper. In this backdrop, crowd funding is an acceptable fund viable option for the pre-seed capital required in IT startups. This discussion proves the importance of crowd funding under regulatory framework and it has made the study not only relevant but also contemporary.
