Pełny tekst źródłaWith improvements in actuation technology and sensory systems, it is becoming increasingly feasible to create powered exoskeletal garments that can assist with the movement of human limbs. This class of robotics referred to as human-machine interfaces will one day be used for the rehabilitation of paralysed, damaged or weak upper and lower extremities. The focus of this project was the development of an exoskeletal interface for the rehabilitation of the hands. A novel sensor was designed for use in such a device. The sensor uses simple optical mechanisms centred on a spring to measure force and position simultaneously. In addition, the sensor introduces an elastic element between the actuator and its corresponding hand joint. This will allow series elastic actuation (SEA) to improve control and safely of the system. The Hand Rehabilitation Device requires multiple actuators. To stay within volume and weight constraints, it is therefore imperative to reduce the size, mass and efficiency of each actuator without losing power. A method was devised that allows small efficient actuating subunits to work together and produce a combined collective output. This work summation method was successfully implemented with Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) based actuators. The actuation, sensory, control system and human-machine interface concepts proposed were evaluated together using a single-joint electromechanical harness. This experimental setup was used with volunteer subjects to assess the potentials of a full-hand device to be used for therapy, assessment and function of the hand. The Rehabilitation Glove aims to bring significant new benefits for improving hand function, an important aspect of human independence. Furthermore, the developments in this project may one day be used for other parts of the body helping bring human-machine interface technology into the fields of rehabilitation and therapy.

This essay presents a proposal on methodology over the mathematical object Exponential Function which enables the development of interpretative and creative skills with potential meaning to the students starting from a didactic sequence structured on the light of The Theory of Didactic Situations from Guy Brousseau and, from the Records of Semiotic Representation of Duval, providing interactions among the students, the teacher and the environment of cooperative learning where the students feel free to express their own ideas as well as to suggest their own approaches. The methodology presented has been developed according to the students first knowledge, valuing their different ways of registering, which have such an important role during the teaching and learning processes. The proposal has been applied to the students from the first year of high school of Colégio Estadual José de Anchieta Ensino Fundamental e Médio, located in a town called Dois Vizinhos –Paraná. In order to the development of the research the methodological tool Didactic Engineering Artigue which consists in a methodology developed only to the research with didactic situations. The main goal has been reached at first, which was to work on the conceptual part of the Exponential Function, the relation of dependence and its main characteristic so that the variable part is in the exponent. Moreover with no imposition but starting from suitable didactic situations, the students were able to realize that they could solve the problems which involve the exponential function and furthermore create new problems (according to their universe) modeled by this kind of function. Its believed that the methodology based on the theory of didactic situations, analysis of students registers, observation on mistakes and obstacles as well as reflections over the aspects of the didactic contract are of fundamental importance to the teaching practice and determinant during the teaching-learning process.

The population of aged persons is increasing. Due to the joints, muscles and physical fitness of human’s body will gradually degenerate as the age increases, the demand for walking-aid device, therefore, is gradually increasing. Even though the two-function wheeled walker with sitting device has been on the market, its main function is still for walking and not used as wheelchair. The attached sitting device is only for sitting to take a rest. On the other hand, most the wheelchairs are heavy and take up large space while folded, and therefore are not convenient to carry. In case of going outside and needs to bring both walker and wheelchair, it is obvious that requires spend more money to purchase, take up more space and inconvenient to carry. This study presents a novel mechanism design for a foldable walking-aid device with functions of walker and wheelchair. It uses a four-bar linkage to execute the transformation between walker and wheelchair, which results in a lower back height of walker than that of wheelchair. The foldable mechanism applies a Watt-II type six-bar linkage to design, which will take up less space and become a straight column standing on the floor after folded for conveniently carrying outside. This novel design has constructed via Solidworks software and performed the interference check and kinematic simulations via the functions provided by Solidworks to confirm its correctness of design. This study has completed a scaled model of this novel mechanism to perform its operation. The preliminary result has confirmed its feasibility.

The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the synthesis of CF3-terminated alkanephosphonic acid molecules with different chain lengths and the self-assembled monolayers(SAMs) formed by these molecules on Al substrate. SAMs of CH3-terminated alkanephosphonic acids with different chain lengths were also formed for comparison. Mixed monolayers formed from these two components were prepared. The surface structures and properties were characterized by using ellipsometry, reflection absorption IR (RAIR), contact angle and photoelectron spectrometer (AC-2). In the second part, similar monolayers as well as mixed monolayers were formed on ITO substrate. The surface properties were investigated by contact angle, photoelectron spectrometer, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. A linear correlation between the ITO work function and the composition of the adsorbing solutions was observed. In the third part, organic light-emitting devices were fabricated with SAM-modified ITO as the anode substrate. The I-V curves, current density, and the luminous efficiency were analyzed to elucidate the charge balance situation in the devices. The performance of the devices with a configuration of ITO-SAM/HTL/Alq3/LiF/Al showed that, with molecules of same terminal functional group as modifier, the current density decreased with increasing chain length, whereas the luminous efficiency increased with increasing chain length. On the other hand, with mixed monolayer as modifier, the current density depends on the work function and thus the injection barriers. The luminous efficiency exhibits a maximum with ITO modified with 1:1 ratio of fluorinated and protiated hexanephosphonic acid as anode, suggesting a more balanced hole/electron carriers under the specific condition.
