Google Drive-based reference management has just existed for easy access to referrals in mangrove ecosystem studies. Google Drive is a popular and widely used file storage and sharing platform. We can store, organize, and share various documents and files using Google Drive, including reference documents, scientific journals, and other essential mangrove resources. Cloud-based Google Drive allows easy access and efficient collaboration between individuals or groups in managing or researching mangroves. This service activity aims to create a mangrove reference database based on several topics using Google Drive so that mangrove observers can easily access it. Reference searches were carried out on the websites googlescholar.com and sciencedirect.com. The activity obtained 580 references from national and international scientific articles and mangrove e-books. The sorting results folder includes mangrove e-books, mangrove ecotourism, mangrove carbon emissions, mangrove litter production, mangrove carbon stocks, and mangrove economic valuations. AbstractMartin Folkes (1690–1754) was Newton's protégé, an English antiquary, mathematician, numismatist and astronomer who would in the latter part of his career become simultaneously president of the Royal Society and of the Society of Antiquaries. Folkes took a Grand Tour from March 1733 to September 1735, recording the Italian leg of his journey from Padua to Rome in his journal. This paper examines Folkes's travel diary to analyse his Freemasonry, his intellectual development as a Newtonian and his scientific peregrination. It shows how, in this latter area, how he used metrology to understand not only the aesthetics but also the engineering principles of antique buildings and artefacts, as well as their context and place in the Italian landscape. Using Folkes's diary, his account book of his journey in the Norwich archives, and his correspondence with other natural philosophers such as Francesco Algarotti (1712–1764), Anders Celsius (1701–1744) and Abbé Antonio Schinella Conti (1667–1749), this paper will also demonstrate to what extent Folkes's journey established his reputation as an international broker of Newtonianism, as well as the overall primacy of English scientific instrumentation to Italian virtuosi.

NATS member Edrie Means Weekly has been a pedagogue and performing artist of both opera and musical theatre for over 35 years. In this article, Edrie discusses the audition process at the Kennedy City and in New York City resulting in her being cast as a standby for five Broadway stars in the 2011 revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Follies starring Bernadette Peters. Four of the five roles have large solo songs including the iconic songs “Broadway Baby” and “I’m Still Here”. The four songs were each written in a different musical style ranging from classical to full out traditional belt. As a vocal pedagogue, she discusses the styles of each song and the Vocal Stylisms or effects she added for emotion and expression to enhance the style. Edrie also includes one of her own vocal exercises she developed for herself back in the late 1980s to create laryngeal flexibility as she performed professionally in opera and musical theatre. She includes a couple of stretches useful for singers and dancers which were provided by Follies Broadway choreographer Warren Carlyle. Edrie talks about track cards and being a swing and discusses her preparation to build stamina to sing and dance a seven-minute tap song. Edrie Means Weekly’s article provides advice for those preparing for singing multiple styles in one show.

The import of proteins into peroxisomes possesses many unusual features such as the ability to import folded proteins, and a surprising diversity of targeting signals with differing affinities that can be recognized by the same receptor. As understanding of the structure and function of many components of the protein import machinery has grown, an increasingly complex network of factors affecting each step of the import pathway has emerged. Structural studies have revealed the presence of additional interactions between cargo proteins and the PEX5 receptor that affect import potential, with a subtle network of cargo-induced conformational changes in PEX5 being involved in the import process. Biochemical studies have also indicated an interdependence of receptor–cargo import with release of unloaded receptor from the peroxisome. Here, we provide an update on recent literature concerning mechanisms of protein import into peroxisomes.

The folate receptor-α (FR-α) is overexpressed in many epithelial cancers, including ovary, uterus, kidneys, breast, lung, colon and prostate carcinomas, but shows limited expression in normal tissues such as kidneys, salivary glands, choroid plexus and placenta. FR-α has therefore emerged as a promising target for the delivery of therapeutic and imaging agents to FR-positive tumors. A series of folate-based PET (positron emission tomography) radiopharmaceuticals have been developed for the selective targeting of FR-positive malignancies. This review provides an overview on the research progress made so far regarding the design, radiosynthesis and the utility of the folate-derived PET radioconjugates for targeting FR-positive tumors. For the most part, results from folate radioconjugates labeled with fluorine-18 (t1/2 = 109.8 min) and gallium-68 (t1/2 = 67.7 min) have been presented but folates labeled with “exotic” and new PET radionuclides such as copper-64 (t1/2 = 12.7 h), terbium-152 (t1/2 = 17.5 h), scandium-44 (t1/2 = 3.97 h), cobalt-55 (t1/2 = 17.5 h) and zirconium-89 (t1/2 = 78.4 h) are also discussed. For tumor imaging, none of the reported PET radiolabeled folates reported to date has made the complete bench-to-bedside journey except [18F]AzaFol, which made it to patients with metastatic ovarian and lung cancers in a multicenter first-in-human trial. In the near future, however, we expect more clinical trials with folate-based PET radiopharmaceuticals given the increasing clinical interest in imaging and the treatment of FR-related malignancies.

<p class="apa">This study used the story of <em>Sadako and the thousand paper cranes </em>by Coerr (1977) to discover similarities between the events of August 1945 in Hiroshima and the events of August 1990 in Kuwait. The participants in a children’s literature class at Kuwait University folded paper cranes and wrote in their journals to answer two questions: (1) what is the importance of the story of Sadako, the Japanese girl, in introducing the issue of Kuwaiti prisoners of war? and (2) what are the educational values that Kuwaiti students can extract from Sadako’s story? Three techniques were used, with a special focus on the participants’ remarks and their impressions of those remarks in written form. The researcher counted nine values that the participants mentioned while they folded the paper crane and five values after they realized the crane’s meaning. Several recommendations, suggestions, and remarks are also proposed.</p>

Along this reflection paper, we confront our former understandings of research as women teachers-researchers who intend to take the Epistemologies of the South as ways of being feeling-thinking-doing English language teacher education and research. A personal, academic, and collective journey has intersected and driven us into the decolonial turn to research ELT. Moreover, in this paper, we will share our uncertainties and struggles in an overt attempt to question our personal fine-grained colonial paradigms to find possible ways to demonumentalize research. Our research methodologies are intended to overcome a Western rationality of knowledge production that ingrains the ways through which our knowledge, research, and pedagogical practices are to be constructed. Walking the paths of decoloniality, we have moved from universal to more pluriversal understandings; we have constructed, co-constructed, valued and rescued situated knowledges emerging from our experience in our Global South. In the process, we have lived a mobilization of visions and pathways that destabilize and relocate our practices with a deep relation to that sense of locality that is ours. The aim of the following paper is to socialize how, through our research projects, we have envisioned inter-epistemic relational methodologies, hybrid, and testimonial narratives to portray ways to research English language teacher education with a decolonial spirit.

This article is an introduction to materials from the Archive of the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a typewritten article “O pervom trude neopytnoy pisatel’nitsy” (On the first work of an inexperienced writer), found in the personal archive of E. P. Privalova and previously never published. The year the text was written, 1975, was established presumably based on the date on the folder in which the other works of the author were kept. The article provides brief background information on the author of the article — researcher of the history of Russian children’s literature, E. P. Privalova; it gives a review of the contents of the folder with archival files — articles about A. L. Schlözer and I. A. Teils, published in different years in the “XVIII vek” (18 th century) collections. The article by E. P. Privalova is dedicated to the study of a novel by M. Gladkova “15-ti dnevnoe puteshestvie, 15-tiletneyu pisannoe, v ugozhdenie roditelyu i posvyashchaemoe 15-ti letnemu drugu. 1810-go goda avgusta mesyatsa” (A 15-day journey, written by a 15-year-old girl, to please her parent and dedicated to her 15-year-old friend. 1810th year of August) (St. Petersburg, 1810). The introduction analyzes the main theses of E. P. Privalova’s article — the alleged authorship of M. Gladkova and literary connections of her text with such works as “Pis’ma russkogo puteshestvennika” (Letters of the Russian Traveler) by N. M. Karamzin and “Puteshestvie iz Peterburga v Moskvu” (Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow) by A. N. Radishchev, published in the last third of the 18th century.

A few puzzling features in the text of Figaro have been discussed for a very long time within the vast literature on this opera. Nevertheless there is little in the libretto that Lorenzo Da Ponte based on Beaumarchais's revolutionary play La Folle Journée, ou Le Mariage de Figaro, and in the music that Mozart then provided for it, which is really problematical. After all, almost the entirety of Mozart's long autograph score has come down to us, even though today Acts 1 and 2 are divided geographically from Acts 3 and 4 - the first two acts being in the Deutsche Staatsbibliothek, Berlin (DDR), and the last two (which left the Berlin library in World War II) being at present in the Biblioteka Jagiellońska at Kraków in Poland. (The whole autograph is fortunately accessible today.) It would seem that the only portions that have not come down to us in Mozart's handwriting are a couple of passages for recitative, and some of the supplementary wind parts for the last act's finale; we have these merely in the handwriting of copyists, included inter alia in scores made for early performances, or for sale in Vienna and other cities. Several of these copyists' scores will shortly be discussed here.

This study is conducted in the context of a Spanish Business School, applied to different Master degree programme. The objective is focused on the identification of which generic skills are needed and developed in a Final master thesis (FMT). Therefore, this study is double folded. On the one hand we use a survey to ask the students which generic skills they consider that should be needed and developed in their FMT, and on the other, we explore the elaboration process as well as validation process of tools to gather information and evidences in order to assess the final results of the FMT being submitted by the students at the end of their learning journey. Specifically, this paper develops the preliminary results approach to the identification of the competencies from the student’s perspective.

: The failure of protein to correctly fold into its functional and unique three dimensional form leads to misfolded or partially folded protein. When these rogue proteins and polypeptides escape the quality control mechanism within the body, they result in aberrant aggregation of proteins into characteristic amyloid fibrils. This is the main cause for the number of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s diseases. This review aims to summarise the underlying mechanisms of protein folding, misfolding and aggregation. It also highlights the recent technologies for the structural characterisation and detection of amyloid fibrils in addition to the various factors responsible for the aggregate formation and the strategies to combat the aggregation process. Besides, the journey from origin to the current scenario of protein aggregation is also concisely discussed.

Der Fluchtweg und dessen Erzählung ist ein noch wenig erforschtes Feld. Basierend auf problemzentrierten Interviews mit Geflüchteten und teilnehmenden Beobachtungen von Asylberatungen geht der Beitrag der Untersuchung von Fluchtnarrationen und den Thematisierungen des Fluchtweges in der sozialpädagogischen Beratung nach. Die Analysen geben nicht nur Aufschluss darüber, was bzw. wie über ‚die Flucht‘ berichtet wird, sondern offenbaren darüber hinaus, dass sozialpädagogische Berater:innen, ebenso wie weitere Akteur:innen, an diesen Narrationen beteiligt sind. Theoretisch durch den von Bruno Latour herausgearbeiteten Begriff der Zirkulation gerahmt, folgen wir den Verschiebungen der Fluchtnarrationen, die nicht nur zwischen Professionellen und Adressat:innen zirkulieren; vielmehr treten auch verschiedene nicht-menschliche Akteure, Institutionen sowie die untersuchenden Wissenschaftler:innen selbst als Akteur:innen in Erscheinung, welche die Bedeutung der migration journeys bearbeiten, übersetzen und verändern. Die Ergebnisse werden im Hinblick auf die Reflexion der eigenen Eingebundenheit von Forschenden in solchen Zirkulationsprozessen sowie bezüglich der Relevanz einer Weiterführung solcher Untersuchungen diskutiert.

Materialistic quest concerning the school of Lokayata or Charvaka in Hindu philosophy, is the pursuit of worldly desires, pleasures, and happiness, without regard for spiritual or ethical values. (Chattropadhyaya) According to Buddhism, these desires or cravings are the forbearers of dukkha. This signifies that the Attachment to earthly substances, abstract or concrete, binds him like a chain to the worldly sorrows whereas the same attachment to the divinity leads him to the ultimate liberation of his soul, which is called Moksha. It is the ultimate goal of human life which sets one free from the cycle of death, rebirth and the law of cause and effect. The Palace of Illusion is a contemporary retelling of the Mahabharata by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni which centres on the protagonist Draupadi. The story presents her life journey, from her childhood to her demise. Her humanness is established with the combination of her virtues as well as follies. Her persistent quest for earthly self-identity and materialistic pleasure turns out to be a mirage at the time of her final time whereas her attachment to Krishna leads her to spiritual liberation. The paper aims to highlight Draupadi’s materialistic quest and its consequences concerning her attachment to Krishna that transcendences her spirit and sets her free from all the earthly agony.

The Estonian Folklore Archives of the Estonian Literary Museum hold a valuable collection of Livonian ethnography and folklore – Oskar Loorits’ collection of Livonian folklore. Oskar Loorits started his journey to Livonians and the Livonian language in 1920, when he participated in a Livonian expedition in Courland as an assistant to Lauri Kettunen, professor of Finnic languages at the University of Tartu. His great interest in Livonians and the Livonian language, Livonian ethnography and folklore developed during this expedition. The Livonian folklore collection is valuable material concerned with the Livonian language and culture. The materials were mostly collected in the 1920s from 12 Livonian villages. The article provides an overview of the collection that physically consists of folders and file boxes in quarter format. The materials include both Livonian folklore texts and their translations. An important component part is the Livonian ethnographic dictionary. In 2013, the digitalization of materials started. The entire physical collection and its partially digitized materials are available to anyone interested.

Abstract: Alma Karlin is considered the most famous female Austrian travel writer of the 1920s and 1930s. On her typewriter 'Erika', she documented her eight-anda-half-year global journey before returning home to Cilli/Celje in present-day Slovenia. This article considers Alma Karlin's autobiography Ein Mensch wird and excerpts from the first volume of her travel trilogy Einsame Weltreise as examples of her self-perception as a solitary female traveller. The analysis takes into consideration Annegret Pelz's work on the relationship between travel literature and female autobiographical writing together with Bernd Stiegler's discussion of 'room travel', to argue that the act of travelling within oneself and the physical act of travel adhere to similar principles and possess a similar status in the identity household of the agents. Karlin's writing affords insights into her experiences that are partly personal and partly political; they have to do with gender, disability and citizenship. Her dissatisfaction with her Yugoslav passport, for example, allows us to consider to what degree Karlin's travels and identity were impaired in light of her new-found status as a 'Slav'. Alma Karlin gilt als die berühmteste deutschsprachige Reiseschriftstellerin der 1920er und 1930er Jahre. Mit ihrer Schreibmaschine 'Erika' dokumentierte sie ihre achteinhalbjährige Weltreise, bevor sie nach Cilli/Celje im heutigen Slowenien zurückkehrte. Der vorliegende Artikel betrachtet Alma Karlins Autobiographie Ein Mensch wird und Auszüge aus dem ersten Band ihrer Reisetrilogie Einsame Weltreise als Beispiele für ihre Selbstwahrnehmung als allein reisende Frau. Die Analyse berücksichtigt Annegret Pelz' Arbeit über Reiseliteratur als weibliches autobiographisches Schreiben sowie Bernd Stieglers Diskussion über 'Zimmerreisen', um zu argumentieren, dass Reisen im eigenen Selbst und der physische Akt des reisenden Ausgriffs im Raum ähnlichen Prinzipien folgen und eine parallele Bedeutung für den Identitätshaushalt der Betroffenen haben. Karlins Texte, ihre Auseinandersetzungen mit Geschlecht, Behinderung und Staatszugehörigkeit ermöglichen Einsichten sowohl privater wie politischer Natur. Ihre Abneigung gegen den ihr nach 1918 verordneten jugoslawischen Pass gibt einen Eindruck davon, wie stark Karlins Reisetätigkeit und ihr Selbstverständnis von der aufgezwungenen Identität als 'Slawin' beeinträchtigt waren.

Sarah came to UCL as a mature MSc student in 2011, before commencing a PhD in financial decisionmaking under my supervision in 2012. Enthusiastic would be a most appropriate word with which to describe Sarah. On hearing new talks, or learning new concepts, she would be wide–eyed and always seeking ways to integrate the material into her own research. Before her premature death from cancer in 2016, Sarah had given me access to her Dropbox folder, so that I could continue our research, especially with a view to publishing a paper she had been working on for some time (look out for it!). A file labelled ‘Ode on a Brain’, dated November 2012, caught my eye. I think it provides a nice example of that enthusiasm and wonder with which she met psychological research. That wonder at the beginning of a PhD journey might resonate with others. Meanwhile, Sarah’s enthusiasm and energy is much missed at UCL.

<p><em>Learning media is an important element in the learning process. Innovative learning certainly greatly affects students interest and motivation in learning. One of the learning media that can be used is leaflet. Leaflet is printed media in the form of sheets (folded), equipped with picture and contains a summary of material related to a subject. This research is a research that aims to examine the results of the analysis of the use of leaflet in the learning process from the result of various tests that have been carried out previosly. This research is also used to find out how the influence of the use of the leaflet media on student learning outcomes. This research was conducted using a meta-analysis method, riviewing library sources such as articles, theses and related journals. Based on the results of the analysis of the research that has been done by the researcher, it shows that this leaflet-based learning media has a high effect on increasing students understanding and activity in learning. The increase in student learning activities also has an impact outcomes in the learning process.</em></p>

Deciphering of the molecular mechanism of the “unfolded protein response” (UPR) provides a wonderful example of how serendipity can shape scientific discovery. Secretory and membrane proteins begin their journey to the cell surface in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Before leaving the organelle, proteins are quality-controlled, and only properly folded proteins are transported onwards. The UPR detects an insufficiency in the protein-folding capacity in the ER and in the ways of a finely tuned homeostat adjusts organelle abundance according to need. If the protein-folding defect in the ER cannot be corrected, the UPR switches from a cell-protective to a cell-destructive mode and activates apoptosis in metazoan cells. Such life or death decisions position the UPR in the center of numerous pathologies, including viral infection, protein-folding diseases, diabetes, and cancer. The UPR proved to be a rich field for serendipitous discovery because the molecular machines that transmit information about insufficient protein folding and activate appropriate gene expression programs function in unusual, unprecedented ways. A key regulatory switch in the UPR, for example, is a cytoplasmic, nonconventional mRNA spicing reaction, initiated by a bifunctional transmembrane kinase/endoribonuclease.

AimsThriving on the pressure of “publish or perish” experienced by academicians, the industry of predatory publishers with dubious quality has mushroomed and gained their notoriety. The battle of uncovering predatory publishers, including Beall's list, has proven to be tough given the huge monetary gain generated by the predatory publishers. It may be difficult for an inexperienced junior researcher to identify those predatory publishers’ soliciting emails, which may disguise as a reputable journal's article-commissioning process. To date, there is a limited systematic approach to identify such emails. Hence, this research is aimed to describe the common features of soliciting emails from publishers which appeared to be predatory.MethodThis self-study involved reviewing the content of emails in the spam folder of authors, a team of junior researchers in psychiatry, for a month. Emails included in this study were soliciting emails relevant to publications and the following were reviewed: types of solicitation, sentences used, strategies used, and information available in the public domain of their webpages. Informative types of emails were excluded.ResultThe solicitation could include: 1) request for a manuscript to be published a journal article, 2) request for a thesis to be published as a book, 3) request to write for a book chapter, 4) invitation to be an editorial member or a reviewer with the offer of free publishing, 5) invitation to be a speaker for a conference, and 6) proofreading services. The publisher may cite a published article of the author from another journal, which was the source where they identified the author's email. Common strategies used for solicitation included: 1) promising a fast-tracked and guaranteed publication, 2) using compliments that appeared to be inappropriate, 3) repetitive emails, and 4) using argumentum ad passiones to induce guilt. The common features of the webpages of those publishers included: 1) open access publishing as the only option, 2) extensive list of indexing services excluding well-established indexing agencies, and 3) the publisher has a huge collection of journals in different disciplines.ConclusionIt is hoped that these findings will help junior researchers in psychiatry to stay vigilant to avoid falling into the trap of predatory publishers, which may result in financial loss and loss of work to plagiarism. Total eradication of those predatory soliciting emails is unlikely despite the advancement of spam filtering technology, which necessitates a more united effort from different stakeholders to come out with a probable solution.

The Great Orbital Run was a solitary run/artwork that took place over nine days around the inside boundary of the M25 London Orbital. The journey was mapped through a stream of photographs and GPS coordinates relayed live from a mobile phone to a web interface and shown as a projected artwork at the University of Greenwich, London. It was later re-configured as the M25 in 4000 images, a unique concertina bookwork/sculpture produced from digital data into tangible, printed paper form. Cut, folded, and constructed by hand, it makes visible the mass of images that embody the running activity and the terrain it represents. This essay considers this artwork and its status as a document and artist’s book, reflecting on (1) the original running activity, (2) the mapping of the boundary of Greater London, (3) the performance of technology in relaying the run, and (4) the transformation of digital images into material form. The document is considered in relation to the run as a performance and in relation to its performative potential. This is extended to the documentary properties of the artists’ book as ‘a form of three-dimensional representation’ that, through its ‘agency’, aligns itself with spatial practice.

Organised data is easy to use but the rapid developments in the field of bioimaging, with improvements in instrumentation, detectors, software and experimental techniques, have resulted in an explosion of the volumes of data being generated, making well-organised data an elusive goal. This guide offers a handful of recommendations for bioimage depositors, analysts and microscope and software developers, whose implementation would contribute towards better organised data in preparation for archival. Based on our experience archiving large image datasets in EMPIAR, the BioImage Archive and BioStudies, we propose a number of strategies that we believe would improve the usability (clarity, orderliness, learnability, navigability, self-documentation, coherence and consistency of identifiers, accessibility, succinctness) of future data depositions more useful to the bioimaging community (data authors and analysts, researchers, clinicians, funders, collaborators, industry partners, hardware/software producers, journals, archive developers as well as interested but non-specialist users of bioimaging data). The recommendations that may also find use in other data-intensive disciplines. To facilitate the process of analysing data organisation, we present bandbox, a Python package that provides users with an assessment of their data by flagging potential issues, such as redundant directories or invalid characters in file or folder names, that should be addressed before archival. We offer these recommendations as a starting point and hope to engender more substantial conversations across and between the various data-rich communities.

The rapidly growing interest in the application of nanoscience in the future design of radiopharmaceuticals and the development of nanosized radiopharmaceuticals in the late 2000′s, resulted in the creation of a Coordinated Research Project (CRP) by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in 2014. This CRP entitled ‘Nanosized delivery systems for radiopharmaceuticals’ involved a team of expert scientist from various member states. This team of scientists worked on a number of cutting-edge areas of nanoscience with a focus on developing well-defined, highly effective and site-specific delivery systems of radiopharmaceuticals. Specifically, focus areas of various teams of scientists comprised of the development of nanoparticles (NPs) based on metals, polymers, and gels, and their conjugation/encapsulation or decoration with various tumor avid ligands such as peptides, folates, and small molecule phytochemicals. The research and development efforts also comprised of developing optimum radiolabeling methods of various nano vectors using diagnostic and therapeutic radionuclides including Tc-99m, Ga-68, Lu-177 and Au-198. Concerted efforts of teams of scientists within this CRP has resulted in the development of various protocols and guidelines on delivery systems of nanoradiopharmaceuticals, training of numerous graduate students/post-doctoral fellows and publications in peer reviewed journals while establishing numerous productive scientific networks in various participating member states. Some of the innovative nanoconstructs were chosen for further preclinical applications—all aimed at ultimate clinical translation for treating human cancer patients. This review article summarizes outcomes of this major international scientific endeavor.

Ever the trickster, Tagaro appears and multiplies, disappears and reappears, across landscapes past and present in Vanuatu. His ancient adventures, deeds, and follies are deeply inscribed into the northern islands—on Maewo, Ambae, and Pentecost, especially—in rocks, caves, trees, and the shape of hills. In recent decades, Tagaro has journeyed more widely, by way of the conversations and texts of ni-Vanuatu religious scholars and early ethnologists, for the most part within the context of the Melanesian Mission of the Anglican Church. Like all good travelers, he always returns from his journeys transformed, carrying all of the burdens that are implicated in the engagement with otherness that journeying entails. For the Sia Raga of Pentecost Island (Taylor 2008), such fraught Oceanic crossings have split Tagaro into a seemingly contradictory figure. For some he is a benevolent God, for others a maniacal, murderous, axe-wielding foreigner. This radical ambivalence calls to mind Marshall Sahlins' description of those stranger-kings, so prevalent in the histories of neighboring Fiji and beyond, powerful figures who arrive from beyond society and who rule through acting beyond it morally, but in doing so are eventually encompassed by the people, “to the extent that their sovereignty is always problematical and their lives are often at risk” (1981b: 111). It also suggests the Deus absconditus of European Christian historiography: a largely unknown but always potentially dangerous “hidden God” that lies beyond human understanding of the covenant. In this paper I explore the troubled histories of Tagaro for what they tell us of changing local engagements with that ostensibly “Other” stranger, Christianity's God Almighty, and of the dynamics of sacred power within the continuing legacy of colonialism's culture. In doing so it demonstrates the ongoing vitality of indigenous Gods, ancestors, and culture heroes to the people of the Pacific region and beyond, and more especially their importance to understanding and negotiating social, political, and religious relations of power.

Globally, many academic e-books are available in user-friendly forms like PDF and HTML that can be accessed on laptops, iPads, and smartphones, even though some e-books require a special e-book reader. However, university students find it difficult to access e-books because some of the university libraries have few computers that hold the downloaded e-books, which are stored in a folder, and little effort has been made as a result; there is low usage of e-books. The project’s goal was to investigate how e-book applications work and how students at Kabale University can access e-books via mobile phone or tablet. The objectives of the project were to investigate the existing e-books application, design and develop the e-books application, and test and validate the developed application that enables students at Kabale University to access e-books simultaneously. The literature review helped me read a number of pieces of literature about e-book applications. They were information sources about the E-books application such as the internet, books, journals, and newspapers, among others. The use of existing information from the library helped to develop a model to predict the E-book application and testing of the application using Android smartphones. It was concluded that the implementation of the e-book’s application was done using Android to enable users to access the books on their mobile phones or tablets. The study recommends that the administrator of the system should be taken through the tasks in order to be able to upload books ready for the application

Romanians who had been influenced by ancient myths and Christianity for a long time fabricated tales of destinies, awe, hopes and yearnings. Time spent with God is Kairos and time of humans is Chronos. Kairos goes with humane subjective perspective with intentions in divine category on opportune and critical timing. Opportunity of freedom did not come easily. For that they obeyed the quests of troubled neighbors and accomplished missions. In “Ileana Simziana” the youngest daughter made journey to prove her mettle for his father. She fulfilled her mission by bring the baptism bowl of remote monastery. Kairos as a moment of liberating intentions occurred when their prayers and curses fulfilled by nuns. The most touching storey is “Făt-frumos, prince charming from the tear”. After the advent of christianity in Romania the birth tale of Făt-frumos relied on Virgin Mary and Jesus. In this tale queen prayed with tears in her eyes everyday. The moment of birth of Făt-frumos is the time of liberation and unconditional divine love.
Kairos is the opportune moment of love permitted by God but also returning to Chronus by violating the divine prohibitions. Men made a blunder by his own follies or by following another’s ill-advised advice and they turned back to Chronus abandoning Kairos. In “Youth without age and life without death” Făt-frumos accomplished his ambition to be young forever and to be immortal. His longing to see his parents made him to leave to his own kingdom. But the castle was ruined and his parents died long time ago. He found eternal youth and immortality at Kairos. At Chronus he turned into old man with grey hair and beard. When Thanatos appeared and pulled his arm he got stiffened to death and turned into dust. His desire to turn to Chronus from Kairos of eternal youth and immortality made him die a humane death.

In this paper, we proposed a disease classification method for brain images using CNN. The research dataset collects images of normal, blastoma, meningioma, adenoma, and glioblastoma by brain tumor disease from journals such as NEJM and AuntMinnie and files them in Exam_Brain.Zip. As a result of CNN processing the images for each file folder in the Exam_Brain.zip file 10 times, the AUC was found to be 0.8825. As a result of the experiment, the brain disease classification accuracy of brain magnetic resonance imaging was found to be 88.25%. These results indicate that the results of this study can be used to classify other diseases once the data set is established, and can also be used to classify objects in other industries.This study has the following limitations. A challenge in automatically classifying diseases is the vastness and integrity of the data sets. If the data is not prepared, the accuracy of classification will be problematic. Additionally, in the medical field, a doctor's decision-making (diagnosis) is not limited to image data but is made based on comprehensive data, and there is a limitation in that medical decisions cannot be made by machines without the intervention of a doctor. Determining the decision threshold in AI decision-making problems is also an important limitation. This is because setting reference points for sensitivity and specificity is not the domain of AI experts, but the domain of experts in the field. Therefore, field medical staff must participate in the process of developing AI in medical settings. Future research tasks include developing applications that improve performance by developing the input stage of the program, and continuing research in connection with medical big data servers.

Industrial company PT. Berlina Tbk. currently engaged in manufacturing processing of plastic pellets into plastic packaging products. From the data the author has obtained for 1 month from 21 August to 22 September 2022, the production process at PT. Berlina Tbk. has a bottle product defect in 500 ml plastic packaging quality. From 21 August to 22 September 2023, this production resulted in 6,421 (2%) defects from the total machine production of 287,897 (100%) 500 ml plastic bottles. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by conducting field research activities (field research), observations, and interviews and by studying books, journals, literature, and other references related to this research. The analysis used in this study is the FTA analysis (Fault Tree Analysis) and the FMEA method (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis). From the research to overcome and reduce the three most significant types of defects using the FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) method, it was found that the causes were influenced by several elements, such as workforce, machines, and materials. With the discovery of the most extensive defect, the researcher has made a proposal based on the RPN (Risk Priority Number), which is then analyzed using the FMEA (Failure Mode And Effect Analysis) method, namely the submission for dirty material defects by checking in the storage room for raw materials, then the type of dirty oil defect by checking on the compressor air section so that during the blowing process it avoids dirty oil. The proposal from the last researcher is a type of folded defect to periodically check the cutting temperature to see if there is a shorted thermocouple.

Objective – To assess how the increase in number of electronic journals available to academic scholars has changed their information-seeking or consulting behaviour, with respect to 1) the amount and diversity of sources they read; 2) strategies they use to keep up-to-date in their fields; 3) use of personalized information services; 4) determining the value and relevance of articles; and 5) personal management of scientific information. This study is a follow-up to an earlier quantitative study (Borrego, Anglada, Barrios, & Comellas, 2007) in the same setting.
Design – Qualitative, using an open-ended questionnaire, followed by personal interviews of a small group of the respondents.
Setting – Universities that are members of the Consortium of Academic Libraries of Catalonia (CBUC), which is made up of the eight public Catalan universities and the National Library of Catalonia, Spain.
Subjects – One hundred thirty-seven scholars from the member universities of diverse ages and disciplines. Eleven of these academics were selected for personal interviews.
Methods – The authors used a two-staged approach to gather comments from researchers on their use of electronic journals. First, an open-ended, self-administered questionnaire (with some pre-testing done) was sent by e-mail to some 490 academics who had provided e-mail addresses in the quantitative study; 137 were returned and analyzed. Personal interviews were then conducted with 11 scholars who had given the most detailed answers in the questionnaire. Their ages ranged from 28 to 67; each was from a different discipline, and from six of the universities.
Informed consent sheets (describing the study and guaranteeing anonymity) were given to the 11 interviewees. Personal interviews were conducted in the subjects’ offices by one of the authors, and lasted between 45-60 minutes. In the interview stage, the authors wanted to examine: use and assessment of the library, access to electronic information, and impact of e-resources on information behaviour. Subjects were also asked to provide three suggestions on improving access to scientific information.
Main Results – The amount of reading and number of electronic journals and other sources consulted among the scholars who participated in this study has increased. Three-quarters of survey respondents consult more journals and read more articles. The scholars reported that they are grateful for the increase in electronic information and its enhanced ease of access, and are not overwhelmed by it. Their reading has become more discriminatory, though, with many reporting “skimming” much of what they read to save time. Scholars keep up-to-date in three main ways: web browsing of journal issues, library database searches, and TOC e-mail alerts. More than 90% of survey respondents reported conducting database searches. Google and Google Scholar were often mentioned ahead of specific library database names. In determining value and relevance of an article, its author and abstract are key for scholars. In addition, personal information management techniques used by scholars were all over the board. The three main methods were use of print or electronic folders, reference management software, and no system. Many of the academics felt their information management systems were “rudimentary” (p. 225).
The request for suggestions and comments on the questionnaire was not answered by “most of the sample” (p. 226). Those who did respond to this request asked for more library resources. The main complaint expressed by scholars concerned the difficulty and complexity of finding journal article content using the Library website (e.g., varying databases, difficulty of interpreting what journal electronic and print holdings are available). Because of this, a number of scholars used Google to find library-subscribed content.
Conclusion – By having greater and easier access to e-journals, scholars accessing the CBUC read more articles from more disciplines. Scholars would prefer a simpler library interface to search for online content. Due to the complexity of finding article content, they use web search tools like Google and Google Scholar to get to what they need faster. The authors of this study believe research should be conducted on the use of the Consortium’s metasearch tool to reduce the complexity. Research should also be conducted on value-added features of search interfaces for particular disciplines.

Abstract As we are living in a world governed by technology, the society becomes step by step more digitalized. The IT sector is now rooted both in our personal and professional lives, removing physical boundaries. Given these facts, the aim of this paper is to present an analysis of how strategic agility works hand in hand within the IT industry. Strategic agility represents a trigger for growth in this industry, contributing to its expansion and strategic business direction as part of the business environment. Thus, the objectives of the current paper are three-folded, namely: (1) what does strategic agility stands for in the IT industry; (2) how strategic agility is achieved within IT sector (3) which business areas of IT companies are impacted by strategic agility. In the journey of covering all these points, we will use mixed research methodology. The qualitative research contributes to a deeper understanding of the role strategic agility plays in the IT business. This section of the paper screens the targeted concepts of the research, acknowledging the challenges and opportunities triggered by strategic agility. The quantitative research method represented by a survey highlights through primary collected data a real case analysis of the IT industry. Various stakeholders operating in this industry bring their input to the development of this scientific paper, their opinion being sketched with the support of structured set of opened and closed questions. The findings of this research are collected and analyzed to mirror the significance of strategic agility as part of the IT industry. The paper aims to cover all the listed objectives, raising awareness of how technology is a vital strategic pillar of the business environment. Such results enhance our capacity of future value creation, enabling new opportunities for growth and innovation.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine what students at G and K universities recognize and make meaning of after appreciating literary works, and to show the performance results.
Methods For this purpose, this study used students' writing assignments conducted at two universities as analysis data. As a method of statistically analyzing text data, KH-coder 3 (Folder), a corpus research method, was used to conduct K University assignments such as ‘extracted word correspondence analysis, extracted word multidimensional scaling method, hierarchical cluster analysis, network analysis, and self-organizing instruction method.’ was used to present statistical results intuitively, focusing on typical cases by type. As for the analysis method of G University's project, we presented the results of the task analysis through three methods: ‘correspondence analysis, network analysis, and hierarchical cluster analysis’, and presented some conclusions focusing on typical cases by type.
Results First, through texts, students at K University remember their somewhat turbulent times and learn about where their foundation came from, how they lived in relationships with their family and friends. It showed that they had come. It had the effect of soothing the wounded heart of the present through the experience of writing down past memories and memories. Second, as a result of student responses at G University, there was a tendency to interpret the story as a story about an immature boy, Namu, experiencing loss, accepting the loss and growing, and also interpreting loss as the basis for growth. Additionally, students responded that they understood the two characters as complementary and aimed for a relationship of growth. Third, while watching the character's growth process, students projected their inner self and showed a journey to self-understanding. And, he said that he applied the characters' motifs of innocence, love, and memories to his own life and felt comfort. In addition, positive writing responses were shown regarding the importance of nature and life.
Conclusions In this study, we applied literary writing teaching and learning activities that can promote self-growth and found the results to be meaningful in literary education.

This is a small exploratory attempt at discovering perceptions of Indian women through Romanian eyes. This will be done through the medium of Indian literature written in English and through the personal experience of the author. We all have our collections of cultural stereotypes through which we look at the world: our own as well as others’. One of the starting points in this cultural journey is the sheer difference in size between the two spaces and the incredible variety of people who inhabit India. Our classical lenses or, at the other end, our Bollywood goggles, distort our perceptions of the realities of present-day Indian women. The author will compare her constructed images of modern Indian women as they appear mainly in Anuradha Roy’s The Folded Earth, with her own experience of real women that she had actually met either in Romania or in India. In today’s complex world, in what is called more often and with more valid arguments the Asian century, it is relevant and worthwhile to have such an exercise of cultural and gender exploration in order to better understand ourselves.

Zusammenfassung Hintergrund Die COVID-19-Pandemie („coronavirus disease 2019“) hat die Bedeutung von Real World Data (RWD) im klinischen Alltag unterstrichen und die fatalen Folgen von längst existierenden Problemen wie Lücken in der Primärdatenerfassung, Hürden bei der Auswertung von Patientendaten sowie erschwertem Patientendatenaustausch zwischen verschiedenen Einrichtungen nochmal deutlich gemacht. Darüber hinaus haben Entwicklungen weg von einem paternalistischen hin zu einem partnerschaftlichen Modell der Arzt-Patienten-Beziehung sowie die zunehmende Digitalisierung unser Verständnis von Gesundheitsversorgung geprägt, das Thema der Patientenautonomie und Selbstwirksamkeit in den Vordergrund gebracht und den Bedarf an innovativen, patientenzentrierten Lösungsansätzen verdeutlicht. Methoden Wir nutzen die „patient journey“ als theoretisches Konstrukt, entlang dessen wir die Sammlung von verschiedenen Typen von RWD, ihre Bedeutung und Umgang damit beschreiben. Schlussfolgerung Die Abbildung der „patient journey“ in Verbindung mit der Nutzung eines einheitlichen Datenstandards kann zur Erfassung von Primärdaten im Gesundheitswesen führen, die von allen medizinischen Behandlungseinrichtungen genutzt werden können. Dies wird den Austausch von Daten zwischen Einrichtungen erleichtern. Darüber hinaus könnte die fortlaufende Auswertung von patientenberichteten Ereignissen als Standard in der klinischen Routine die Patientenautonomie stärken und die Behandlung optimieren. Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass der Behandlungserfolg, das Gesamtüberleben und das Wohlbefinden der Patienten durch die Schaffung einer gemeinsamen Datensprache und eines ganzheitlichen, menschenzentrierten Ansatzes verbessert werden können.

The discovery of penicillin by Alexander Fleming marked a new era for modern medicine, allowing not only the treatment of infectious diseases, but also the safe performance of life-saving interventions, like surgery and chemotherapy. Unfortunately, resistance against penicillin, as well as more complex β-lactam antibiotics, has rapidly emerged since the introduction of these drugs in the clinic, and is largely driven by a single type of extra-cytoplasmic proteins, hydrolytic enzymes called β-lactamases. While the structures, biochemistry and epidemiology of these resistance determinants have been extensively characterized, their biogenesis, a complex process including multiple steps and involving several fundamental biochemical pathways, is rarely discussed. In this review, we provide a comprehensive overview of the journey of β-lactamases, from the moment they exit the ribosomal channel until they reach their final cellular destination as folded and active enzymes.

Although high-performance (HP) coaches’ learning journeys are idiosyncratic and winding, most of these coaches share the characteristic of having rich experiences as athletes. Studies on the career transition of HP athletes to sports coaches reveal a sharp disagreement between these incoming coaches with their practice field experience and national governing bodies responsible for coach education programs about what is needed to be certified. This article presents a tailored initiative to support an HP athlete (Dan) in his process of “becoming” a certified HP coach in the Canadian context. This unique project took shape from a collaborative effort to combine elements of two opposing views on learning: off-the-job versus workplace learning. The article provides details on (a) the coaching context, (b) the main supportive others, and (c) the tools used to document the coaching topics that emerged from Dan’s coaching practice, as well as the learning material used, discussed, and created. When all the above content and materials were carefully organized and placed into folders, a unique “emerging curriculum” was formed and presented to the members of an evaluation committee who agreed that Dan met the HP coach certification criteria.

In addition to the canonical double helix form, DNA is known to be extrapolated into several other secondary structural patterns involving themselves in inter- and intramolecular type hydrogen bonding. The secondary structures of nucleic acids go through several stages of multiple, complex, and interconvertible heterogeneous conformations. The journey of DNA through these conformers has significant importance and has been monitored thoroughly to establish qualitative and quantitative information about the transition between the unfolded, folded, misfolded, and partially folded states. During this structural interconversion, there always exist specific populations of intermediates, which are short-lived or sometimes even do not accumulate within a heterogeneous population and are challenging to characterize using conventional ensemble techniques. The single-molecule FRET(sm-FRET) microspectroscopic method has the advantages to overcome these limitations and monitors biological phenomena transpiring at a measurable high rate and balanced stochastically over time. Thus, tracing the time trajectory of a particular molecule enables direct measurement of the rate constant of each transition step, including the intermediates that are hidden in the ensemble level due to their low concentrations. This review is focused on the advantages of the employment of single-molecule Forster’s resonance energy transfer (sm-FRET), which is worthwhile to access the dynamic architecture and structural transition of various secondary structures that DNA adopts, without letting the donor of one molecule to cross-talk with the acceptor of any other. We have emphasized the studies performed to explore the states of folding and unfolding of several nucleic acid secondary structures, for example, the DNA hairpin, Holliday junction, G-quadruplex, and i-motif.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between mobile self-efficacy and personal information management (PIM) practices through mobile phones and smartphones, and additionally, to explore the challenges of using a smart device for PIM.Design/methodology/approachThis study followed Preferred Reporting Items for the Systematic Review and Meta-analysis (PRISMA) guidelines to achieve the objectives. A comprehensive search strategy, inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria were formulated in light of PRISMA guidelines. The data were collected from different scholarly repositories, databases and core journals of PIM. The studies were included after four steps, i.e. identification, screening, eligibility and inclusion of studies.FindingsFindings revealed that there was a positive relationship between mobile self-efficacy and PIM via mobile phones. People used two techniques for finding and re-finding information via mobile phones/smartphones. These techniques include browsing and searching information. People send information, share with others and save in draft folders to emails in mobile phones/smartphones for keeping information for future use. They organize their personal information in folders and use different applications such as Evernote, Google Calendar, alarm and organizer. They uninstall and update mobile applications with new versions, clear phone call history and backup personal information to desktop devices and cloud services to maintain personal information. PIM via mobile phone/smartphone challenges were also identified. These challenges were classified as information related challenges, technical challenges, mobile phone adaptability challenges and miscellaneous challenges.Originality/valueThis study will help library professionals and decision makers to devise information literacy instruction programs according to the users' needs. The results of this study will also open new horizons for system designers to devise mobile-based PIM tools according to users' needs.

ZusammenfassungSeit 10 Jahren erfasst und verfolgt das Endoprothesenregister Deutschland (EPRD) endoprothetische Eingriffe an Hüft- und Kniegelenk. Trotz der Freiwilligkeit des Registers konnten so bereits mehr als 2 Mio. Operationen in Deutschland erfasst werden. Das EPRD zählt somit als drittgrößtes Register der Welt. Die hochgranulare Klassifikation der EPRD-Produktdatenbank, in der mittlerweile mehr als 70.000 Artikel hinterlegt sind, soll zum internationalen Standard erhoben werden. Die Verknüpfung von Fällen mit spezifischen Implantatdaten sowie Routinedaten der Krankenkassen ermöglicht valide Standzeitanalysen. Auf dieser Basis erhalten Kliniken, Hersteller, aber auch die Fachöffentlichkeit spezifische Ergebnisse, die zur Verbesserung der Qualität in der Endoprothetik beitragen. Zunehmend internationale Wahrnehmung erhält das Register auch durch Publikationen in „peer-reviewed journals“. Ein Antragsverfahren ermöglicht zudem den Zugriff auf EPRD-Daten für „Dritte“. Darüber hinaus hat das EPRD ein Frühwarnsystem etabliert, um Auffälligkeiten zu detektieren. Softwaregestützt meldet das EPRD mögliche Fälle von Implantat-Mismatch an die betreffenden Kliniken. Die EPRD-Erfassung wird im Rahmen eines Probebetriebs im Jahr 2023 um Patientenbefragungen zur Zufriedenheit, sog. PROMs, ergänzt. Auch die Erfassung des Operateurs wird perspektivisch folgen.

The main guide that is revealed from the very first verse is the female deity Mnemosine, mother of the Muses, which plays a purely saving function because the initiates can find salvation exclusively by quenching their thirst at her fount. The text provides instructions to explore the Underworld, in order to help the initiate to liberate himself from the cycle of reincarnations, which is the doom of those people who had not been introduced into the Orphic-Pythagorean mysteries.

Much as we might like to think of the academy as an enlightened domain of pure knowledge creation, it is inextricably linked to financial and corporate influences. The business of academic publishing is a complex ecosystem of actors, processes, expectations, and perversions. Many of us have encountered—indeed, have reinforced—such entanglements. Very often our academic success depends on learning the rules of engagement and then following them. We research, we write, we publish; we review, we critique, we edit. We make our textual submissions and pay our subscription fees, whether directly to a journal or indirectly through our participation in the institutions, organizations, and libraries to which we are connected. But this system, when we start to unpack it, can present some pretty nefarious effects. Research papers published in for-profit journals are not easily and freely accessible to those outside of institutional life. Yet these papers are generally produced by people with access to public funding, either from research councils or educational institutions. By paying for journal articles that sit behind paywalls, we are effectively transferring tax revenue into the pockets of private corporations. Of course, for those who can’t or don’t want to pay, there are semi- and non-legal options, but even ‘free’ access to PDFs comes with costs (often folded back into commercial publishers’ fee structures).
