Pełny tekst źródłaA 4-mm cooled tip catheter was compared to an 8-mm tip catheter to cavotricuspid isthmus(CTI) ablation. This prospective study enrolled 52 patients with typical atrial flutter to ablation with a closed cooled-tip catheter(group1) or an 8-mm tip catheter. Radiofrequency(RF) applications were performed to achieve complete CTI block wich was achieved in 51 patients. No significant differences were found in the procedure parameters. CTI ablation with an irrigated tip catheter versus an 8-mm tip catheter was equally effective and satisfactorily safe for ablation of typical atrial flutter.

Pełny tekst źródłaThe development of hybrid mobile applications has increased rapidly in the last decade. Considering the diversity in how big companies starts to invest in frameworks that supports hybrid application development (cross-platform framework), the necessity of contemporary studies in this subject increase. Facebook and Google are two well-known companies that have developed React-Native and Flutter, respectively. These cross-platform frameworks are continuously developing, and differences occur in their technologies which makes new studies even more appropriate. The purpose of this study is to investigate which of these two frameworks contribute the most for the developer’s productivity considering the lack of studies in this specific subject. Specifically, a case study has been conducted where the research questions were answered. The two research questions were divided into three sub questions, respectively where each question was given criteria to follow in the case study and each framework were assigned points if the associated criterion for each question were met. In the end of the study a mean value was assigned to each framework. The results showed that there are small differences in terms of its contribution for the developer’s productivity.

Pełny tekst źródłaToday we see an increased trend around the interest in application development, and in our society there are over three billion smartphone users. Hybrid application development is something companies can no longer overlook because the benefits weigh heavily. The benefits with hybrid applications include the fact that it uses a multi-platform code base. This in turn leads to a significant saving of time and resources during the development process. The two hybrid frameworks chosen for a comparative purpose are Apache Cordova and Flutter, and the purpose is to identify which framework performs the best out of a performance perspective. The question answered in the study is: What framework for creating a hybrid application between Apache Cordova and Flutter, is recommended out of a performance perspective? The study measures performance-related variables, these are execution speed, start-up time, CPU, RAM and battery usage. The study does this by creating two functionally identical applications in each framework. Data collection takes place via Android Profiler, Logcat and own implemented code. The result shows measurements in each performance-related variable. Not only does the overall results show that Flutter is the faster performing framework but also the framework with a higher use of resources.

Pełny tekst źródłaThis study investigates the siku of Argentina, Peru, Bolivia and Venezuela; and the shakuhachi of Japan and their effect on Western classical flute repertoire. By exploring the histories, construction of the flutes, and the role each flute has in its society, a better understanding of these flutes and the cultural aesthetic in which they work will be achieved thus creating a higher level of authenticity when performing these pieces. The pieces being surveyed are Flute 3.2.4. by Adriana Verdie and Nesting of Cranes by Wil Offermans. Notes on technique of what the author found useful when playing these pieces are found at the end of each chapter.

Pełny tekst źródłaThe purpose of the present study is to gain insight into what influencesstudents´ choice of flute and continued participation in Swedish community music schools. Research on community music schools as well as the factors influencinginstrument choice among children and youths are presented in the background section. Positivism was applied as a theoretical lens for the present study. A total of 97 participants ranging from 7 to 22 years of age, filled out a cross sectional websurvey. The result has been analyzed with a univariate analysis where one variable is studied at a time. The results revealed that instrument trial days and knowing someone who plays flute were the most important factors determining the student´ perference for flute playing. Furthermore, the results revealed that students requested more frequent oportunities to play with others in bands or orchestras. In the discussion, five themes are raised: gender and instrument selection, importance of social contexts, the characteristics of the instrument, the impact of role models and the importance of the teacher.

Pełny tekst źródłaThe aim of this study is to make visible how parents experience their involvement in their kid’s flute playing. The study is a qualitative study with pragmatism as its theoretical framework. In this study four half structured interviews with parents whose kids play the flute was used as basis for the analysis. This study also used a quantitative method in the form of a survey that was used to examine the field and for inspiration for the interview questions. The survey was directed to parents whose kids play the flute and was answered by 64 parents. The result of this study shows that parents experience their involvement in their kid’s flute playing by being involved in different ways for example by showing interest and to solve their kid’s problems that arise when the kid is playing the flute. The result also shows that parents experience challenges in their involvement with their kids playing the flute mostly because of their limited musical knowledge but also because of lack of time and energy. The conclusion of this study is that parents experience their involvement in their kid’s flute playing as variated but that the parent’s attitude and perception of music and the fact that their kids are playing the flute is throughout positive.

Pełny tekst źródłaThe purpose of this study is to map the occurrence of physical ailments among flute teachers in Swedish community schools of music and art, as well as their knowledge of, their use of and their teaching in ergonomics and injury prevention. The questions raised are how commonly occurring physical ailments are among flute teachers, whether or not they have received adequate knowledge in ergonomics for the profession they practice, if they work with preventive measures against physical ailments and to what extent they include ergonomics in their teaching. The study is a quantitative survey in the form of a web questionnaire. The results show that 49 % of the surveyed flute teachers suffer from physical ailments, which they connect to flute playing. The problems are mainly located in the shoulders, the neck and the back. 60 % of the flute teachers work with preventive measures against physical ailments, of which the most common everyday actions are regular breaks during flute practice and physical exercise on a regular basis. The most common ergonomic factors that teachers communicate to their pupils are practice routines, body posture, instrumental grip, stretching and relaxation exercises and the importance of physical training. The results also show that many flute teachers would want or need better knowledge of ergonomics, because music education generally prepares musicians poorly for the physical challenges of the professional life. In the concluding discussion is emphasized that healthcare needs to be better informed of musicians’ injuries for these to be prevented and cured, and music teachers’ working conditions require attention to minimize the number of injuries.

Abstract The target of this study is focused on the unexpected learning achievements for the students who join the wirral community wind band or straight flute group in Wunlin Elementary school besides of their regular learning processes. During 2007 to 2010, I took up the position of the chief of Student business department. For this reason, I had chances to participate in the operation of the groups and observe them directly, such as competitions, practicing, yearly achievement publication,School anniversary concerts, performances of the community festival celebrations or performance of student recruitment. Base on the data of directly observation and analysis of the reflection, from the side of alumnus to review the conclusion of observing, what is the resource of the potential curriculum in the art mass organizations? What is the content? How to effect? Every student has a chance to learn each other in the groups. When finding the shorts by observing the others, they can collect their thoughts and increase their will and motive to practice with the others. They are willing to learn and realize their target. This is the result of inspiring each other in the groups. A school is a planned place of intensive learning. It’s impossible to give the whole knowledge and experiments in one time, especially for the different students. How to collect suitable materials to students? As this reason, the ways to provide choices of Multi-dimensional mass organizations and a suitable Multi-dimensional development, explore their potentials, help them to establish their self-confidence and self-approval, and increase the extra velum are very important. Key words: potential curriculum, Association dynamics, Multi-dimensional intelligence, the operation of the groups

Pełny tekst źródłaIn this master’s thesis, we studied how the historically informed performance (HIP) movement has impacted the way flutists have approached Baroque repertoire since 1960. We analyzed recordings from five flute players with Sonic Visualiser. We used this software to generate graphical data to objectively support our observations on tempo, articulation, dynamics, and vibrato. By comparing recordings made on baroque and modern instruments, we found that in the past 20 years, flutists who are performing this repertoire on the modern flute started integrating performance practice from the baroque players in their own performance of early music. To contextualize the performance practices, we synthesized a few baroque sources to verify the extent to which flutists have respected these indications. Through the process of this research, we observed that the HIP movement has changed the definition of an authentic performance of early music and that it has modified the way modern flutists perform Baroque music.
