Self expression is no longer conveyed by arts and literature. In the world of digitization and software-led products, one needs another way of expressing themselves. That need to automate a workflow or that idea to create new business are only expressible through software - that you would then need to hire a professional developer to first listen to your needs then express them on your behalf in the form of software. No, not that; I need this way instead of this way; you as the customer would say to your developer until you arrive at what you need. Or if you are a developer yourself, cutting time away from your coding job to build your own stuff is a cut of your personal time outside of coding already; unless you are building your own business. Both, customers to software, need to be able to express themselves in software and with minimal knowledge and time. Enter the world of Low-Code software development. This paper discusses key impacts coming with this trend

AbstractMany interventional radiologists express concern about communicating their practice needs to their radiology department chairs. As a result, they may have difficulty getting support for hiring of additional physicians and staff, capital investments in equipment, and marketing of IR services. Some perceive that chairs have a preference for diagnostic radiology initiatives over interventional and want to know why. More importantly, they want to know how to approach their chair and succeed in their advocacy for IR. The key to success is understanding the perspective of the chair and the pressures and demands they face. That understanding allows the IR to propose their initiatives in a form that helps address some of the chair's needs and thus eases their path to success.

Abstract: In the real world, we enjoy showing off our art collections through images and films to express our personalities and interact with others in the neighborhood. However, there aren’t many methods in the NFT community outside updating the profile image for us to show others how much we love our collections. Adding any NFT to your camera is quite simple with this project. This merely needs an OpenSea connection to access the associated material because of the compatibility with web3. And whether it is 3D or 2D, a superb AR experience will be created based on the NFT. The NFT can be used as a background if it’s a JPEG. However, if the 3D model is set up, you may control it by moving your body.

Logic models feature prominently in intervention research yet there is increasing debate about their ability to express how interventions work in the real-world. ‘Real-world’ logic models are a new proposition which express complex interventions in context. They are designed to help researchers strike a balance between context-sensitivity and scalability. This article explores the utility of real-world logic models in a trial involving a complex intervention called ‘Your Care Needs You’, designed to improve hospital-home transitions for UK older patients. The approach is found to usefully capture, refine and express important learning about intervention-implementation-context dynamics. The findings imply the need for intervention researchers to think creatively about how to implement interventions in diverse and sometimes challenging environments and to develop understanding of how complex interventions adapt on implementation to produce outcomes. The possibility of assessing the wider social and policy context within intervention research is also posed.

Streszczenie:
Motion-based hand gesture is an important scheme to allow users to invoke commands on their smartphones in an eyes-free manner. However, the existing scheme is facing some problems. On the one hand, the expression ability of one single gesture is limited. As a result, a gesture set consisting of multiple gestures is typically adopted to represent different commands. Users must memorize all gestures in order to make interaction successfully. On the other hand, the design of gestures needs to be complicated to express diverse intensions. However, complex gestures are difficult to learn and remember. In addition, complex gestures set a high recognition barrier to smart APPs. This leads to an imbalance problem. Different gestures have different recognition accuracy levels, which may result in instability of recognition precision in practical applications. To address these problems, this paper proposes a novel scheme using binary motion gestures. Only two simple gestures are required to express bit “0” and “1,” and rich information can be expressed through the permutation and combination of the two binary gestures. Firstly, four kinds of candidate binary gestures are evaluated for eyes-free interactions. Then, an online signal cutting and merging algorithm is designed to split accelerometer signals sequence into multiple separate gesture signal segments. Next, five algorithms, including Dynamic Time Warping (DTW), Naive Bayes, Decision Tree, Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BLSTM) Network, are adopted to recognize these segments of knock gestures. The BLSTM achieves the top performance in terms of both recognition accuracy and recognition imbalance. Finally, an Android application is developed to illustrate the usability of the proposed binary gestures. As binary gestures are much simpler than traditional hand gestures, they are more efficient and user-friendly. Our scheme eliminates the imbalance problem and achieves high recognition accuracy.

Our Science and scientific explorations are integral components in the process of research and development. Therefore, keeping abreast of recent scientific knowledge and development is an imper proceativess of a professional scientist. Scientific literature such as publications are among the most popular ways to update and up-skill one’s knowledge in a particular area. One can either become a consumer of scientific publication as a reader or s/he could also contribute to the body of literature through academic publications in quality peer-reviewed journals. Having contributed to academic writing as an author is like your passport to your scientific community, not only to share your knowledge but also to gain professional recognition. Your contribution to publication also helps disseminate your new and foremost findings or techniques among scientific and academic communities. In order to be an accomplished scientist, one needs to have good scientific writing skills and be able to express the scientific knowledge effectively and efficiently to the scientific/academic community. Before you start writing, it is important that you should be aware of the main goals of your publication. Your research should answer the relevant questions of the involved field and should arouse interest in the readers. Furthermore, the researcher should also know whether the research and findings of the work are publishable at the given point or not. If the answers are ticked off positively, then the researcher can start preparing the manuscript. Most research papers are based upon the IMRaD format. The word IMRaD stands for the initial letters of the words Introduction (I), Methods (M), Results (R), and Discussion (D). The Introduction describes the scope and purpose of the research in the light of recent information on the existing research; the Methods explain how the analysis was done; the Results section reports your audience to know what the investigation showed; and the Discussion section should explain the significance of the new information provided by your study and suggestions for future studies. . The IMRaD structure has been followed by a progressively increasing number of academic journals and has been the basis for most researches. It is a very effective approach as it facilitates the literature review and lets the readers understand the research more logically.Good scientific writing with the methodical approach is not the only criteria for getting published in scientific journals. For publishing in a particular journal, it's very important to follow the author guidelines. Every journal has a particular format of writing and it is expected that the particular journal is going to publish the articles in the same particular format. This is very important for the journal to be consistent in all the publications. In addition, writing a good research article can seem challenging at first, however, if a researcher plans it properly, the challenge becomes interesting. Your research may conclude with meaningful answers to the unanswered questions in a particular scientific field and serve as a stimulus for further studies in the future. Well-written papers get published more frequently and can easily attract the attention of the readers. They are highly read, recommended as well as cited. Reviewers are more willing to review a well written research article and give favorable comments to improve the quality of the study. The authors should make every effort to implement the proper use of correct grammar. Poor language quality, including errors in grammar, spelling mistakes, typographical errors could delay the publication or lead to outright rejection of the paper.Ultimately, the readers of your scientific manuscript are your primary examiners. They are going to examine the details of all the appropriate components of your study: purpose, background and rationale, strategies, results|, discussion and conclusions. . The elements of good scientific publishing must certainly be clear, precise, and logical. Finally, scientific work is incomplete until the results are disseminated to the larger community. Thus, effective scientific writing will create information exchange, to improve knowledge progress, ideas and improve your colleague's future work.

Abstract Theatre as an institution and form of contemporary art encourages freedom and creativity, attracts free spirits and visions and it should be a physical and spiritual space in which you can find and express your identity at the same time. If in the state system decisions on the budget are taken at a political level and those on the repertoire have to take into account a whole organizational scheme and a large audience, in the independent space, tolerance, acceptance of differences, encouragement of minorities of any kind to express themselves through art, as long as there are talent and ideas that can be transposed in a scenic way, the debate of the taboo subjects for the society should be a priority. Even if financially the independent artists are working on truly desirable projects and with funding that sometimes comes from the state, the constraints that are reflected on the final product are not as large as in the state system, there is no repertoire to be respected. Of course, the productions in the independent environment have to attract audiences, but performances and experiments are getting faster to the public. In Romania, political theatre, community theatre, the theatre that militates for important causes needs courageous artists, artists who use their imagination, their creativity, their critical voice for causes that few believe in. The intimacy that independent spaces can offer to the artists and to the public to create a bond and to reveal their existential fears, aesthetical and ethical principles to which they adhere, makes these spaces a fertile ground for original artistic projects such as Giuvlipen.

Introduction The link between school education and art therapy is supported by the fact that it comes to supplement the common school education activities of children with special educational requirements with a dual purpose: to complete and fix their specific content; to train and practice as much as possible the students’ minds and critical thinking through artistic means. Objectives Prevention of absenteeism and school dropout of the child with special educational requirements through art therapy. Methods In art therapy, the most used methods specific to the fields of visual arts are: drawing, painting, icon, modeling on the wheel, but other techniques can be used. Children are the ones who choose their work materials and activities from the offer that the art therapist makes. From the offer of materials, the beneficiary prefers to paint porcelain objects and letters. He was challenged to identify letters after which he painted them. Results Increasing the feeling of social utility, self-confidence. Improving school situation. Reducing school dropout and literacy. The beneficiary has an interest in letters and numbers and their writing. Form words quickly, easily identifying letters. Create your own games by comparing numbers. Make puzzles with letters and numbers. Art education helps the beneficiary to more easily express their emotions, perceptions, desires and way of thinking. Learning numbers and letters becomes a fun activity when using colors. Conclusions The child needs education through art, because without it there is an imbalance in the fundamental purpose of man, that of developing harmoniously and multilaterally. Disclosure No significant relationships.

If someone becomes seriously ill, has a child with a disability, has a serious accident… a lot of organization is needed to arrange all medical care and necessary support for that person (and often for the family as well). People testify; you are overwhelmed by your illness, you do what needs to be done, you go into survival mode… This survival mode is a major force in making sure people can arrange everything that needs to be arranged, but it also results in disregarding important questions such as 'what do I really want now?', 'how do I feel good in this situation?', 'how do I survive in the long term?'. Fortunately, in such moments there are often other people like family and friends, who think of the “small bearers of luck in life”: which music can be played in their room, which friend can join them at a treatment, which cake is to be taken to the rehabilitation centre, how can the parents recharge their own batteries so they can keep on going? ... Important human gestures, close ones and relatives who stay involved, fight for what's important, don't let go, are as important as good medical care and support. People who call on Lus feel the need for a strong(er) "back-up group" or "loop (lus)" of family and friends, because they want to build a good and happy life, not just survive... Lus-groups meet this requirement. Volunteers ensure that a Lus-meeting is guided so that subjects/themes that really matter are discussed. Concerns are talked about and plans are made to engage, also in fun things. All participants assess in what way(s) the central person’s talents/interests/wishes stay at the center of the gatherings. They discuss problems, celebrate/share successes and express gratitude. Great and small, genuine concerns are shared so that people can lead a meaningful life again. Having conversations that really matter, making choices based on this knowledge, those are the strengths of our groups. Over time we see that people in Lus-groups slowly regain control of their own lives again and reciprocity grows back: the central person takes on the hosting, he helps an other, .... People have been meeting in Lus-groups in Flanders for 20 years. At this time there are 120 active groups. This way, 700 people are involved in the lives of others and we form a web of caring Flemish citizens. As a result of the expertise we built in our Lus-groups, we designed a model that highlights the 4 key elements of every lus-group. In the workshop we want to discuss those 4 themes. Through small excercises and testimonials we want to let the participants feel the Lus-vibe!

Sally Duensing previously worked at the Exploratorium in San Francisco and is now based in London where she carries out research on science communication. In this interview, she tells about her experience as an evaluator of the Decide project, one of the most successful discussion games ever designed. Years after its creation, Decide is still used nearly all over the world. Its main strong point is that it allows to grasp the standpoint of the others and, at the same time, to express your own standpoint in a mutual exchange of experience; in addition, the interface and the game rules allow to overcome any cultural and age gaps. However, sometimes the public expects a debate with an expert rather than a dialogue among peers, whereas on other occasions the debate was inhibited especially by the presence of a scientist. In museums, discussion games often clash with the needs of members of the public, who generally have limited time. However they can still be useful to the museum activities when the results of the discussions are used to program other activities: it is a way to gather valuable information on the public’s orientations which is often underrated.

Streszczenie:
Background: In Australia, women with metastatic breast cancer are not systematically made aware of or helped to access supportive care resources. Finding resources tailored to their needs can be challenging as they spread across several healthcare and advocacy organizations. Furthermore, resources assume varying levels of knowledge about the disease and its treatments, are fragmented and are dispersed across multiple organizations. Aim: The aim of our study was to codesign a signpost resource to direct women to key supportive care organizations that provide relevant, timely and comprehensive support for them; ensure women are made aware of and know how to access support they need, as and when they need it; and ensure that health professionals are aware of the resource, support its use, and distribute it to women. Methods: Using a codesign framework, initial development of the resource was guided by consumer representation on the study Steering Group. The resource was then presented to women living with metastatic breast cancer, and their advice obtained about its relevance and functionality during semistructured interviews. Purposive sampling based on age, time since diagnosis and geographical location (metro/regional), was used to obtain a variety of perspectives. Open-ended questions explored what the resource should contain, look like, and how it could best be introduced and distributed. An iterative descriptive analytical approach was applied. Results: Seven women aged 40-61 years were interviewed. Time since their metastatic breast cancer diagnosis ranged from 5 months to 19 years. Women told us about their preferences for style, content and format for the resource. They also guided discussion about how best to promote the resources in a way that both informed health professionals but also empowered women to find and express a need for support. As a result, 2 videos were produced. In the first 3-minute video for health professionals, consumers powerfully convey messages about the impact of their diagnosis, their need for support and how important it is for health professionals to “value and believe there are emotional, social and material aspects of coping with the disease” (this video will be shared in the presentation). In the second 4-minute video, consumers endorse the need for information and support, and women and consumers watching the video are introduced to the services provided by supportive care organizations profiled on the resource. Conclusion: Resources created and tailored by consumers for consumers are powerful and important. Consumer-led interventions that demonstrate to health professionals the importance of supportive care as a cornerstone of excellent cancer care may have a considerable impact but require empirical testing.

Purpose: The aim of the study is to ascertain the relationship between undergraduate nursing students' age and their level of assertive behaviour. Assertiveness is communicating and expressing your thoughts, feelings, and opinions in a way that makes your views and needs clearly understood by others, without putting down their thoughts, feelings, or opinions. Assertiveness is the ability to express our thoughts and feelings openly in an Honest, Appropriate, Respectful and Direct way. Methodology: The participants were students of 2nd - 5th levels at the Department of Nursing, University of Port Harcourt with a total of 205 participants. The study was a cross sectional descriptive survey design with an adapted structured questionnaire using Rathus Assertiveness schedule instrument with a four point Likert scale of strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree and Strongly Disagree. All statistical analysis was performed using statistical package for social Science (SPSS). Findings: The findings revealed an increased in assertiveness level with students in the 5lh and 4th levels of study being more assertive than the lower levels of study. Age and gender of students did not have any influence on their assertive behaviour. Chi-square Test of independence was the inferential statistics used to test the hypotheses on whether significant relationships existed between student nurses’ level of assertiveness and their age, gender and year of study with the level of significant 0-05. Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: The study recommended that all Nurses should be exposed to assertiveness training so that they can mentor/coach students and it also recommended that assertive behaviour should be included in the curriculum of nursing programme.

Background: The purpose of the present study was to elucidate the experiences of long-term oxygen therapy (LTOT) patients with a portable oxygen unit and to describe the patients’ self-assessed health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Methods: The study employed a prospective cross-sectional design. Data collection entailed two questionnaires, namely the MedTech20 (patients’ experience of the medical device in four areas) and EQ-5D (HRQoL). The informants consisted of patients (n = 148) treated with such a medical device and that were registered in Skåne University Hospital’s database, Medusa. Results: In the domain Sense of security the informant felt the equipment reliable and safe to use and expressed a sense of control for the user. Regarding Social participation, the responses did not indicate the device to facilitate leisure activities, movement outside the homes, traveling or everyday tasks to a larger extent. The respondents did express a reduced sense of compromised integrity, with a minor effect on Intimacy. With regards to Convenience, the responses indicated the product to provide Adaptability to personal needs. Overall, a strongly affected HRQoL (Your current health condition, EQ-VAS Md = 50 (IQR 36–70)) with strong correlation with EQ-5D was seen. Conclusions: Informants experienced the portable oxygen unit as reliable and safe to use while giving a sense of control over the disease itself. A minor impact on social participation was reported, except for a reduced sense of compromised integrity. The patients also reported a strongly reduced HRQoL.

According to the results of the analysis of reference books and periodicals, different approaches to the definition of the term "patriotism" have been identified. Particular attention must be paid to the formation of a patriotic feelings in the emotional and sensual sphere, because human emotions and feelings most clearly express the spiritual needs and aspirations of man, his attitude to reality. Stages of education of patriotism of the person, which are formed from preschool age to adolescence, structure of patriotism are determined. It is determined that it is necessary to distinguish between varieties of patriotism: ethnic, territorial, state. he content of patriotic education, most researchers see in the formation of such civic and patriotic qualities, such as: civil-patriotic self-awareness, worldview and belief; high civil responsibility while performing professional duties; social activity in everyday life and activities; knowledge of the history and culture of your country; love for the Fatherland and readiness to protect it.The tasks of patriotic education are successfully solved in the event that the educational process is carried out systematically and comprehensively, if this activity includes both subjects and objects of patriotic education; coordination of educational actions of all categories of educators is ensured, individual qualities and peculiarities of pupils are taken into account, conditions under which the process of patriotic education is taking place, various forms and methods are used.

BackgroundGenerating information that people living with a rheumatic and musculoskeletal disease (RMD) find useful while making decisions about their treatment requires identifying and understanding educational needs and interests directly expressed from people living with RMD.ObjectivesTo identify what types of information US adults with RMD perceive as important to know about their disease and how they express and prioritize such information.MethodsUsing nominal group technique, focus groups of participants (pts) with RMD generated sets of rank-order educational items which were then aggregated across groups into themes. Based on nominal group results, a survey with the final 28 items was administered online, along with a question about desired functions of a smartphone app for RMD, to members of the ArthritisPower registry in January 2022.ResultsSix nominal groups (n=47) yielded 28 unique items for the online survey of educational priorities. To date, a total of 570 pts completed the survey, of whom 85.4% were female, 89.5% white, mean age of 59.6 (SD 11.2) years. Rheumatoid arthritis (52.5%), osteoarthritis (16.0%), psoriatic arthritis (12.5%), and axial spondyloarthritis (7.5%) were the most common RMDs. Knowing how to tell when a medication is not working, how RMD affects other medical conditions, understanding the results of tests used to monitor their RMD, available treatment options and possible side effects, and how life will change as an RMD progresses were each items that > 75% of pts considered extremely important (Table 1). Top functions pts listed as useful for a smartphone app included being able to participate in research, view lab results, record symptoms or flares, share how they are doing with their provider, and get educational information about their disease (Table 2).Table 1.Top Education Topics Adults with Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Disease Consider Extremely Important (N=570).Itemn (%)Knowing when the medication is not working505 (88.6)Knowing how a rheumatologic condition can affect your other health conditions or medical issues481 (84.4)Understanding the results of tests used to monitor your condition471 (82.6)Knowing the side effects of available drugs, and how the drugs interact with each other461 (80.9)Finding the right rheumatologist453 (79.5)Having realistic expectations of the effectiveness of the medications445 (78.1)Knowing how the disease will progress, even if the news is bad439 (77.0)Knowing the available medications and treatments for your rheumatologic condition437 (76.7)Knowing how long it takes drugs to work436 (76.5)Understanding how your life will change as your disease progresses434 (76.1)Table 2.Desired Smartphone App Functions Rated By Adults with Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Disease (N=570).App Functionn (%)Participate in patient-centered research299 (52.5)View my lab results283 (49.7)Record my symptoms (e.g. pain, fatigue) or disease flares to track my health over time278 (48.8)Record my symptoms and share how I am doing with my rheumatology provider to know if I am meeting my treatment goals230 (40.4)Get educational information about my disease225 (39.5)Keep track of the medications prescribed by doctor200 (35.1)Schedule and keep track of my medical appointments, rheumatology and other199 (34.9)Track the vaccines I get (i.e. vaccination record)188 (33.0)Help me improve some of my health habits (e.g. sleep, diet, exercise)187 (32.8)Keep track of my use of over-the-counter, complementary or alternative therapies (herbs, tinctures, acupuncture, massage, stretching, etc.)174 (30.5)Get support for my disease from trained patients with my same health condition (i.e. ‘peer coaching’)144 (25.3)ConclusionPeople with RMD prioritized information about medications and prognosis in educational materials, providing guidance for the development of educational tools. Honourable Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, his excellency Mr Ahsan Iqbal, the President, Pakistan Society of Development Economists, discussants, Dr Ashfaque Hasan Khan and Dr Rehana Siddiqui, Dr Durr-e-Nayab, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, let me say at the outset that it is a great privilege for me to be here and to be given this opportunity to deliver the Quaid-i-Azam Lecture. I regard this as a signal honour and I feel particularly privileged coming from India being able to speak in honour of the Quaid-i-Azam, the founder of this country. I want to express my gratitude for this particular privilege which I have been given. I also want to acknowledge the very warm sentiments expressed by his Excellency the Minister. I certainly believe that in this day and age we have to look forward, we have to look at the future and I think we have to erase some of the problems, demolish some of the barriers and the hindrances that have prevented South Asian cooperation in the past. So Sir, your words in that context are certainly appreciated and I would say that we have to put them into effect by ushering in a new future for this region. I want to mention that when I had the privilege of accepting the Nobel peace prize on behalf of Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2007 along with Mr Al Gore, in my acceptance speech I used a Sanskrit phrase which is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and that means the universe is one family. Now if the universe is one family, may I submit that, we particularly in Pakistan and India are really the core of that family. I believe the future lies in our ability to develop a model of economic growth and development that serves as an example for the rest of the world. Let me at the very outset say that we have been somewhat negligent and perhaps short sighted in emulating what has been established as a form of development in other parts of the world and I will say a little more about this as I move on. Let me start by referring to the definition of sustainable development which essentially comes out of the work of the Brundtland Commission that was completed in 1987 and it’s a very simple definition. It defines sustainable development as that form of development which allows the current generation to meet their own needs without compromising on the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. So, therefore, it essentially takes into account the issue of intergenerational equity. Whatever we do today should not be selfishly oriented by which we might meet more than our needs today

Greetings to all ENT Fellows! When I became a member of the Board of Trustees during the Presidency of Dr. Cesar Anthony Yabut in 2012, I surmised how concerned and dedicated the Board was in supporting and funding researches of fellows-- whether they were descriptive, analytical, surgical innovations and instrumentations -- through the PSO-HNS research committee. Amendments to the research paper contest guidelines were made to give way to the advent of information technology in synchronization with the electronic journal management system of the Philippine Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (PJOHNS). Online review and corrections were implemented to maximize time and efforts of the judges and the authors. This was given emphasis during the administration of Dr. Wilfredo Batol in 2013. Well, these are all done for academic excellence. Under Dr. Howard Enriquez’ administration in 2014, research still remained one of the priorities of PSO-HNS. Each and every paper submitted passed through the eye of the needle of the editorial board of PJOHNS. It may be a lot of hard work and effort for the researchers, judges and editors but it is worth the hard work. PERSEVERANCE is the key! Just choose a “worth-knowing” topic and write a “worth-publishing” paper. If it is rejected, just try again. Be patient with the corrections and revisions-- in the end, the fruit of your labor is a sweet success. An ORL-HNS specialist should be equipped with this trait to really cope with the ever changing needs of our society whether it is surgically or research oriented as evidenced by our very own PJOHNS. It is with great pride and honor that I render a message in our prestigious journal. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude and congratulations to my colleague, Dr. Joey Lapena, and the same is true for the editorial staff and members for their never ending dedication and hard work in making a journal that is equally competitive and accepted in the 21st Century.

Congratulations to all of you and ASORC on your 25th Anniversary. It is great to be able to be here with you at this historic time. I want to express my appreciation to organizers of this conference, ASORC and each of you here. I want to thank Trevor Hawkins for inviting me, and also to acknowledge Bert Biggs who gave me the opportunity to be involved with the Journal during the past few years.I also want to thank you for the honor of being able to share a few thoughts with you about rehabilitation counseling. It is particularly pleasing to me to be here, in that this presentation is on the eve, as some of you may know, of my leaving Australia, having been here for three years. It has been a wonderful time both personally and professionally — an opportunity not many have to practice their profession in a different country and culture — albeit not one that was totally foreign in that you all use English.I want to share a few thoughts today related to the rehabilitation and rehabilitation counseling profession and think a bit about what I see as happening as we stand on the brink of a new millennium. It is not new thinking nor particularly original, borrowing as I have from many sources, though I must take full responsibility for what I say. Also, I should emphasize that it is not offered as advice but rather a reinforcement of what many of you already know. As an educator and university professor, I do get stuck in one mode sometimes overemphasizing what I consider important. My remarks are based on my obviously American background but hopefully tempered with some of my experiences and observations here in Australia.

Homeopathic diagnosis and treatment of malaria in Kenya Martien Brands and Suzanne van Berkel Centre for integrative medicine, Amsterdam ; School for Homeopathy, Amersfoort Introduction. Homeopathy has been practiced since many years in Kenya, often by experienced and well trained practitioners, in several primary care clinics. But no systematic data collection has yet been made. We have chosen, after a feasibility study in 2012, some clinics to participate in this recording of daily practice data. We request the practitioners to record the data as used for therapeutic prescription in the practice, and to assess the effect of homeopathic prescriptions with disease-oriented and patient-oriented data. With these data it will be plausible to do further studies which involve the modification of treatment for research purposes. So this recording does not involve any change for the practitioners in their current way of delivery of care; it is rather a mirror of their activity so as to get an insight in their work. Relevance: Malaria has been selected for its impact on the health of large populations, both in the acute, short and recurrent, long-term form. The homeopathic treatment may be an option when other treatments are not available for reasons of safety (pregnant women) or affordability (price of conventional malaria drugs) or logistic reasons (access from remote villages). With the purpose of giving the population access to affordable health care, with a treatment that has been used a long time but has been investigated in only a few controlled studies. One study, under the supervision or the first author, has been done in Ghana showing comparable effects of homeopathy and the standard treatment at that time, chloroquine (van Erp and Brands 1996). As policies have changed since then, it is logical to compare in next studies homeopathy with the current antiparasitical treatments. In Kenya this is artemisine. Aim: to record homeopathic practice data in Kenya. And thereby to provide the relevance for further pragmatic, randomized studies. Rationale for personalized, immune-stimulatory treatment. For treating malaria we have two options: to attack the microorganism or reinforce the immune system; homeopathy falls within the latter approach. Recent studies show effects of several homeopathic medicines on the immune-function in both plant, animal and human models (cf reviews of Bellavite et al 2006, 2007, and the Health Technology Assessment by Börnhoft and Matthiesen 2011). This state of the art shows the relevance of testing the effects of immune–targeting homeopathic drugs in a parasitical disease, where resistance development to microbial metabolism-targeting antiparasitical drugs is an important barrier for many people to acquire a better health status. To influence the immune system, two conditions need to be met - the stimulus needs to match the state of the immune system itself, which has specific changes in its composing messengers that express in clinical symptoms Therefore, low concentrations of active agents are appropriate to interact with the minute concentrations of most immune agents. They function within a complex system which features non-linear relationships between stimulus and response (cf. Plsek and Greenhalgh 2001). - the stimulus is highly specific, i.e. it matches with the peculiarities of the individual patient. Recent simultaneous measurement of many agents, both on the level of genomics, proteomics and metabolomics (van der Greef 2005) show the changes in patterns of markers rather than in single markers; this confirms interindividual biochemical differences which are reflected in interpatient variation as assessed in homeopathic diagnosis. Methods: First, a qualitative study of 50 cases has been done from the period of december 2013-january 2014. The data of symptoms (both classical malária plus the typical symptoms following homeopathic case taking) and the prescription strategies were coded and analysed with SPSS (Statistical Programme for Social Sciences). The latter includes: the choice of remedies, potencies, frequency and duration. Second, an quantitative, open registration is done for patients arriving with malária to the clinics in the period of march until june 2014. The acute episodes of malaria are recorded; the recording therefore will include the data as in table 1: 1. classical malaria symptoms 2. individual symptoms 3. if required the ‘profile of sensitivity’ is further assesed by the features on three levels: mental, general and local features 4. parasite counts before and after treatment 5. the scores on the Oridl (previously the Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital Outcome score, GHHOS) by two questions re. the main complaint and the overall impact of the treatment on well-being The feasability of this recording was assessed taking into account the following items re: the quality of delivery of care - the experience and training of the practitioners involved, - the properness and privacy of the consultation rooms, - the quality and storage of the medicines administered, - the quality of the laboratory equipment for: parasite counts and eventual co morbidity (typhoid fever; amebiasis and other parasites) - the accessibility of care regarding the fees asked from patients Inclusion of - all patients from five years and older, presenting symptoms suggesting malaria and with positive parasitology, at the clinics for homeopathic treatment. - also in combination with other infectious disease, if malaria is confirmed at first consultation Exclusion of - all patients with feverish illnesses but with parasitologically confirmed absence of malaria infection. - patients with any symptoms of cerebral malaria, they are referred as usual to a nearby hospital for intensive care. Protocol of the recording: 1. extraction from the clinical files of the data, recorded in Excel data base 2. data: demographic, clinical, laboratory, quality of life (Oridl) 3. drop out recording for followup 4. statistical analysis after coding of all data with SPSS. Non-parametric tests for symptom reduction and quality of life (Oridl). As this is a naturalistic recording with no change in treatment policies from the usual care, no ethical clearance was required. The data in this study are however required to obtain ethical clearance for a future randomized pragmatic study. We know that there are many studies, many interpretations of the coronavirus, many scientists and politicians who are studying the coronavirus and its consequences in the aftermath of the pandemic. The Holy See has also set up a task force dedicated to this study: “To embrace hope, to embrace the human family.” On 20th March, 2020, Pope Francis asked the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development (DSSUI) to create a Commission, in collaboration with other Dicasteries of the Roman Curia and other institutions, to express the Church's concern and love for the entire human family in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially through the analysis and reflection on the socio-economic and cultural challenges of the future and the proposal of guidelines to address them. In 2020 Anne Case, the Professor of Economics and Publics Affairs at Princeton University, and Angus Deaton, winner of the 2015 Nobel Prize in economics, the Professor of Economics and International Affairs at Princeton University and Presidential Professor of Economics at the University of Southern California, have published their highly important book Death of Despair and the Future of Capitalism. Death of despair from suicide, drug overdose, and alcoholism are rising dramatically in the Western European countries and in the United States of America. In 2018, there were 158,000 deaths of despair in the US, the same number as in 2017. Deaths of despair is called by Anne Case and Angus Deaton the despair epidemic. Long before the arrival of COVID-19, the lives of European and Americans had been disintegrating with deaths from suicide, drug overdose and alcoholic liver disease rising year on year. The despair epidemic and the COVID epidemic make a challenge for American and European capitalism. “COVID is a worldwide pandemic, affecting rich and poor countries, while deaths of despair, although not exclusively American, are much more serious in the US than in other rich countries.” Why is capitalism failing so many? What’s the economy got to do with it? Could the reason for this phenomenon be hidden in a fragmented approach to the human person? Could it be that Capitalism does not pay attention to the true reality of the human person, who is at once, in his or her existence a unity of physiological (material), mental, and spiritual reality not fragmented? The human person whom an economy and indeed any business seeks to serve, is not only the exteriority but also the interiority at once. The person remains the subject of both experiences given from interior and from exterior. A concentration on both kinds of experience which in fact constitute the integral experience of the human person is called for. The same discernment is given by economist Anne Case and Nobel Prize winner Angus Deaton in their statement that “capitalism is an immensely powerful force for progress and for good, but it needs to serve people and not have people serve it.” The world is experiencing a catastrophe, thus according to Prof. Case and Prof. Deaton capitalism needs to be better monitored and regulated. Why is lack of religiosity and the decline in churchgoing a problem? One answer is that, over long enough periods of time, religiosity responses to the social and economic environment. In poor countries around the world, especially in Asia and Africa, almost everyone identifies as very religious, but religiosity is lower in richer industrialized countries, particularly in Western Europe. The argument ̶ the secularization hypothesis ̶ is that as education spreads, as incomes rise, and as the state takes over many functions of the church, people turn away from religion. Put crudely, people need religion more in more hostile environments. This would fit the American states, where those with lower incomes and less supportive state governments have a higher fraction of religious people. It would also explain why it is true that, while more religious people do better than less religious people on many outcomes ̶ they are happier, less likely to commit crimes, less likely to abuse drugs and alcohol, and less likely to smoke ̶ more religious places ̶ including US states ̶ do worse on the same outcomes. Religion helps people do better, and they espouse religion in part because their local environment is difficult. When religiosity falls over time, it is the people side of this story that applies, and people lose the benefits that religion brings. The mission families are grateful to Kiko Argüello and Carmen Hernández for the Neocatechumenal Way they have brought, which is an inestimable gift. According to the iniciators of the Way true communion goes further than any notion of time, place and danger. The mission families experienced this communion with power during this time of pandemic isolation. The growing apostolic faith is the concrete answer to the problems of our life in this time of Covid-19. The prophetic words of Pope Paul VI are realized particularly in the mission of the Catholic Church in times of Covid-19 within the Neocatechumenal Way. Saint Paul VI, in the audience to the Neocatechumenal Communities on 8th May, 1974, said: “We greet the group of priests and lay people who represent the movement of the Neocatechumenal Communities - here we see post-conciliar fruits! - gathered in Rome from many dioceses throughout Italy and other countries. […] How great is the joy, how great is the hope, which you give us with your presence and with your activity! […] To live and foster this re-awakening is what you call a kind of ‘post baptism’, which can renew in our contemporary Christian communities the effects of maturity and depth which were achieved in the early Church during the period of preparation for Baptism. You do this afterwards. `Before' or `after' is secondary, I would say. The fact is that you aim at the authenticity, fullness, coherence and sincerity of Christian life. And this is a very great merit which, I repeat, consoles us enormously.”

It is a great honour for an accountant to be invited to deliver the Students' Society 1984 Jubilee Lecture. When the Financial Times defined an actuary as “someone who found accountancy too exciting”, I realized that accountancy might be a suitable subject for this Jubilee Lecture. I note that the Institute of Accountants and Actuaries in Glasgow played a pioneering role in the evolution of the accountancy profession in Scotland during the latter half of the last century. So the paths of the actuarial and accountancy professions have met, and indeed crossed, on a number of issues, and we have a great deal in common, most of all perhaps a belief in the power of presenting an argument through numbers. Like you, we have members in practice and in commercial employment, we form professional opinions which we express in reports and we are concerned with problems of measurement; also we each have our own procedures, assumptions, jargon and rules, all of which are confusing to the uninitiated.

Learning is the process that constructs knowledge and intends the enrichment of pupils with knowledge in the correct form. Learning a foreign language is important because in addition to the fact that gains knowledge, the fact that it is a subject that also requires vocabulary study that can be of different meanings. One of the rubrics of thinking about the^^^^ text meaning in a foreign language is reading session. Reading is an activity that brings a lot of benefits in children improvement. While reading a text it is connected to critical thinking developed skills, on the other hand, it includes a multitude of complex abilities. Teachers aim at improving pupils’ results, and technology is the means by which helps accomplishing this aim. Manifesting their competences during lesson hours teachers should gain the competences in order to make pupils more capable and prepared in nowadays technological environments. Furthermore, using technology during lesson hours make the job easier for the teacher and more manageable. Technology often is considered a distraction and may defocus the pupils from the lesson hour but during these lessons pupils feel more involved and wants to participate and contribute actively. There are different means and applications that are considered effective and are of great importance during lesson hours. Some of them are smart boards, projectors, computers, tablets and applications like those on the web or those that can be downloaded. The usage of technology in all its forms can convert boring traditional classrooms in interactive and interesting ones. Based on different styles of learning, fitting to their style accordingly can make easier for pupils to learn. These new means of learning can diversify your learning mode. During technological learning hours there is a higher frequency of collaboration between pupils that makes the process more dynamic. Tasks that can be realized by using technology are of multi-tasking dimension and this can trigger in the pupil the curiosity to learn more from their teachers and peers. In addition to that it can make possible the creation of small groups of pupils where more technologically advanced pupils can help and guide less experienced pupils. The variety of activities of educational technology that is available today offers students a wide range of choices from which they can choose the right ones for their learning needs. It helps develop the right abilities, skills and knowledge in order to develop their knowledge in a certain field. Vital to students’ academic success are certain elements interconnected like communication between peers, teachers and parents. Technology usage during lesson hours in your classrooms creates at the same time space for students to have an active role during their learning process. Students can become more competent and responsible to be independent in their learning by giving their impressions and opinions, participating in group work during their learning in smart boards or pc-s or during learning through applications and online classrooms giving each individual space and support to learn and use technological means effectively, creatively without problems while using them and learning from them. Learning through technology can make access to information very easy, faster as a process, and funny ways to practice what is learned. It can bring pupils different information that they have to categorize and select from the broad array of information that often can be not correct and pupils have to work on it and get what’s correct. New technological means Technology will undoubtedly continue to evolve, and it’s important to adjust your classroom style to align with its advancements. It enables students to explore new subjects and deepen their understanding of difficult concepts, particularly in the process of analysis. By using technology inside and outside the classroom, students can possess the century skills in digitalization and knowledge necessary for future occupations. The purpose of the study is to help develop reading comprehension by using technological aids and to determine some teaching apps and techniques focused on reading comprehension and the stimulation of critical thinking that can be manifested in writing and affects intellectual development of students forming intellectual and cooperative individuals. There are different activities that can be used in order to be effective as a teacher during lesson hours. One activity is creating digital content showed on smart boards related to the knowledge they are learning that is a great way for students to display their individual creativity abilities as well as productive learning. Like any other organized project, the process of creating content is expected to be more effective when pupils are capable to express themselves in ways that highlight and accommodate their personal strengths and learning styles as well as communication type. Pupils already spend most of the time on social media that occupies most of their time and the creative idea of intertwining its use into our classroom lessons that is one of the most innovative methods used in technology, in the classroom through combining students to curriculum, classroom resources, and one another. Incorporating diverse stuff like videos, photos, and audio material in different presentations, slideshows or digital presentations by incorporating music or explanations so using different elements of teaching simultaneously. The usage of slideshows and digital presentations and playing music or a video for background and context while presenting what’s meant to learn, or inviting virtual guest speakers to engage with your class via programs designed for conference calls, such as Skype and Google Hangouts are all creative and funny digital ways to affect in engagement with lessons. Learning to encourage and support students working at their own pace and providing with the useful information. In the case a pupil finishes an assignment earlier, rather than being stuck waiting for other pupils to catch up or class to finish, pupils can develop and enhance their learning by visiting a learning digital material and watch videos, playing learning-task-based activities or games, or exploring other digital online activities related to their field of study. There are also other popular, useful, and no-cost tools for teachers searching for new ways to use technology in the classroom like taking digital field trips. Applications like Google Streetview and other similar apps allow pupils to virtually and in interesting way explore parks, forests, and even national and international landmarks from the comfort of your own classroom. Teachers can use also google calendar in order to plan in a scheduled way what can be done by developing a shared online calendar for all classroom pupils through Google Calendar or a similar program for posting important dates and update to recent information. The research method that was used is the quantitative and qualitative research method such as interview with teachers of 9-th grade and 8-th grade in Vore Albania, online and by observing 9-th grade pupils’ learning during digital learning classes. The questionnaires were done from students and teachers from different schools with different achievements. Despite the challenges and concerns, it’s important to note the benefits of technology in education, including increased collaboration and communication, improved quality of education, and engaging lessons that help spark imagination and a search for knowledge in students. A contribution in this study are these suggestions regarding the applications and techniques that encourage critical thinking and, in particular, apps that will have a result and the various recommendations from teachers who succeeded in teaching in classes with difficulties in reading. Streszczenie:
Subject area The case “Corporate Governance Failure at Ricoh India: Rebuilding Lost Trust” discusses the series of events post disclosure of falsification of the accounts and violation of accounting principles, leading to a loss of INR 11.23bn for the company, eroding over 75 per cent of its market cap (Financial Express, 2016). The case provides an opportunity for students to understand the key components of corporate governance structure and consequences of poor corporate governance. The case highlights the responsibility of the board of directors, audit committee and external auditors and discusses the changes required in the corporate governance structure necessary to ensure that such incidents do not take place. The case also delves into the classic dilemma of degree of control that needs to be exercised by the parent over its subsidiaries and freedom of independence given to the subsidiary board, which is a constant challenge all multinationals face. Such a dilemma often leads to the challenge of creating appropriate corporate governance structures for numerous subsidiaries. Study level/applicability The case is intended for MBA courses on corporate governance, business ethics and also for the strategic management courses in the context of multinational corporations. The case can be used to develop an understanding of the essential of corporate governance with special focus on the role of the board of directors, audit committee and external auditors. The case highlights the consequences and cost of poor corporate governance. The case can also be used for highlighting governance challenges in the parent subsidiary relationship for multinational corporations. The case can be used for executive training purposes on corporate governance and leadership with special focus on business ethics. Case overview This case presents the challenges faced by the newly appointed Chairman Noboru Akahane of Ricoh India. In July 2016, Ricoh India, the Indian arm of Japanese firm Ricoh, admitted that the company’s accounts had been falsified and accounting principles violated, leading to a loss of INR 11.23 bn for the financial year 2016. The minority shareholders were agitating against the board of directors of Ricoh India and were also holding the parent company responsible for not safeguarding their interest. Over a period of 18 months, Ricoh India had been in the eye of a storm that involved delayed reporting of financials, auditor red flags regarding accounting irregularities, a forensic audit, suspension of top officials and a police complaint lodged by Ricoh India against its own officials. Akahane needed to ensure continuity of Ricoh India’s business and also act quickly and decisively to manage the crisis and ensure that these incidents did not recur in the future. Expected learning outcomes The case provides an opportunity for students to understand the key components of corporate governance structure and consequences of poor corporate governance. More specifically, the case addresses the following objectives: provide an overview of corporate governance structure; highlight the role of board of directors, audit committee and external auditors; appreciate the rationale behind mandatory auditor rotation; appreciate the consequences of poor corporate structure; explore the interrelationship between sustainability reporting and transparency in financial disclosures of a corporation; understand management and governance of subsidiaries by multinational companies; and understand the response to a crisis situation. It was established that the main factors that contributed to the growth of express delivery services demand in Ukraine are the development of the Internet in Ukraine and the increase of its users, the decrease in the free time of Ukrainians, the desire to optimize it, and the growth of retail trade. The main companies that provide express delivery services include "Nova Poshta", "Ukrposhta", Meest, Justin, Delivery Auto, Epicenter, and Kasta. It was determined that the most famous brand is the "Nova Poshta" company, which also has the largest number of points of contact with consumers, although Justin company fulfills orders the fastest. The results of office research indicate that the most optimal ratio in terms of price-quality indicators is typical for the company "Ukrposhta" and Justin. In the express delivery market, the biggest threat to postal operators is re-tail trade networks, which are actively developing their delivery of goods. At the same time, services focused on new market segments also appear. Domestic services and delivery services were signifi-cantly affected by the full-scale war. However, the express delivery market quickly recovered from the shock and partially recovered. The impact of the war on the work of some domestic services and delivery services - Bolt Food, Glovo, Liki24, "Nova Poshta", and Meest Express delivery services - was analyzed. The formation of competitive advantages of operators in the market of express deliv-ery services can be ensured by their comprehensive use of tools of the marketing complex, and the formation of co-branding departments. The article presents the features of the toolset of the mar-keting complex of companies in the service sector. When developing strategies for the development of services and delivery services, the latter must take into account the needs and behavior of con-sumers. Therefore, it is important to provide information for the marketing activities of companies. New information technologies, including Big Data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning tech-nologies open up significant opportunities for its improvement. They allow you to collect the neces-sary information for the development of tools for the marketing complex of the express delivery company, adapted to the needs of individual market segments.

Active shooters, tornadoes, fires, floods, and power outages are concerns for every new student entering college. New students enter college with a variety of academic and nonacademic anxieties. Students express concerns of their study skills, as well as their ability to manage financial and social responsibilities, but seldom does a new student worry about personal safety or disasters. The first few minutes of an emergency can mean the difference between life and death. Candlelight vigils showing incredible sorrow among college students may become more frequent as active shooter incidents continue to increase in frequency and will undoubtedly occur again. The question is: What do new students need to know about emergency preparedness and how do you inform them? Information overload combined with new student mindset of invincibility makes emergency preparedness a tough topic to communicate effectively to new students. University officials owe it to new students to try.

Chapman’s Love Languages hypothesis claims that (1) people vary in the ways they prefer to receive and express affection and (2) romantic partners who communicate their feelings congruent with their partner’s preferences experience greater relationship quality. The author proposes five distinct preferences and tendencies for expressing love, including: Acts of Service, Physical Touch, Words of Affirmation, Quality Time and Gifts. In the present study partners (N = 100 heterosexual couples) completed measures assessing their preferences and behavioral tendencies for a) expressions of love and b) reception of signs of affection, for each of the five proposed “love languages”. Relationship satisfaction, sexual satisfaction and empathy were also assessed. The degree of the within-couple mismatch was calculated separately for each individual based on the discrepancies between the person’s felt (preferred) and their partner’s expressed love language. The joint mismatch indicator was a sum of discrepancies across the five love languages. Matching on love languages was associated with both relationship and sexual satisfaction. In particular, people who expressed their affection in the way their partners preferred to receive it, experienced greater satisfaction with their relationships and were more sexually satisfied compared to those who met their partner’s needs to lesser extent. Empathy was expected to be a critical factor for better understanding of and responding to the partner’s needs. Results provided some support for this hypothesis among male but not female participants.

Advance care planning is an opportunity for patients to express their priorities for future care. NHS England has outlined a commitment to end-of-life care, advocating a shift towards more patient-centred care. The NHS is encouraging the workforce to engage patients in conversations about what is important to them, shifting the focus from ‘what is wrong with you’ to ‘what matters to you’. Traditionally, this was seen as the doctor's role but this conversation can and should happen with the wider skilled medical workforce. The key to advance care planning is to have these conversations early on when patients have the capacity to discuss their preferences for care. Advance care planning can occur in any setting where the patient is comfortable to have the conversation, be that at home, in the GP surgery, in hospital or another setting. Patients with advance care plans are more likely to have their wishes respected, have fewer unwanted interventions, experience reduced transitions between care settings and are more likely to die in their preferred place of death. Healthcare professionals have a duty to offer advance care planning to patients nearing the last phase of life so that care can be delivered to honour individual needs at the end of life.

Streszczenie:
Valuating the position of a controlled object using indicators which are management and control tools is widely used in many areas of the economy. Usually such indicators are based on internal data, however, as the volume of available open information grows, algorithms for valuation of the position of certain control objects and on open structured data are appearing. The disadvantage of these models is their narrow specialization and binding only to structured, and sometimes strictly official data, which, as a rule, have a rare publication frequency. This does not allow you to track the change in the position of the object at different times. The authors have proposed a concept for constructing a universal complex indicator (UCI) for express valuation of the position of a controlled object in various types of activity: banking, educational, industrial, etc. Another difference in the construction of the UCI is that the concept presented in the article assumes, as a reference point, to take into account the requirements of regulatory authorities, while in most Russian and foreign studies, indicators are built for the needs of investors. It is also proposed to use, along with structured and unstructured data, tracking the dynamics of changes in the position of the control object. To determine the UCI values on the basis of various econometric models and methods, the components that characterize the requirements of the control bodies to the control object are calculated; using them the UCI value is determined from the truth table. The concept proposed was tested to build an express valuation of the financial position of 108 banks for the period from 1 January 2018 to 1 February 2020. In accordance with the requirements of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the values of the three UCI components were obtained, and the value was calculated for each bank. The predictive ability of the constructed model, tested on three banks of the test sample, was confirmed by the consistency of the express valuation with their actual position in March 2020.

Streszczenie:
The operating theatre in a hospital is a highly critical and complex area which requires high hygienic standards. A certain code of conduct must be followed at all times to maintain a pedagogical model of excellence. There is indeed a very narrow margin for errors and critical incidents are waiting to happen with any lapses in the standard of care. The core idea of possessing certain etiquettes and mannerisms is therefore quintessential for excellence and safety in patient care and a good outcome. We as anesthetists play a pivotal role in maintaining the requisite standards. Let us revisit these sequentially to better equip ourselves in our temple of work- The Operating Theatre (OT) Basic house rules mandate entering the OT in a well laundered clean two piece scrub suit, cap, disposable mask and proper footwear to minimize cross infection. The scrub suit is made up of cotton with a high weave density that minimizes the risk of bacterial strike- through. These should be changed immediately if soiled or contaminated. Long sleeves are not allowed and bare below elbows must be strictly followed in all clinical areas. Proper footwear has ridged rubber soles to make it antistatic and anti skid to prevent slip and falls. (1) Our next portal of contact is the patient which has to be impactful! This is a game changing opportunity and one must make the most of it! Through each and every step of anesthesia, one must be courteous, empathetic, reassuring and communicate adequately with the patient. (2) This would set the patient at ease and half the battle will be won! Vigilance with multitasking must be reflected at every step with positive communication. Dutt-Gupta et al have shown that negative communication during intravenous cannulation is known to have increased analgesic requirements in one study. (3) Leave apart the humour, sattire, sarcasm but the best surgeon – anesthetist relationship actually is a symbiotic one which thrives on professionalism, punctuality, discipline, mutual respect and assertiveness. We all do possess technical skills with great dexterity but one must possess non technical skills which sets us apart from others. Arrive before time for performing the blocks. One must turn their penchant off for people pleasing and maintain integrity at all times. Strong work ethics is a must for success. Mistakes do happen and one must apologize and explain them. Perfect documentation of all events in the OT is essential as the law is very clear about it, if it is not mentioned in the anesthetic chart-it has not happened! In the recently concluded FIFA world cup 2018, the Croatian team taught us lessons for a lifetime. They did an unmitigated display of non-technical skills which are equally important for our working in theatre. These nontechnical skills are none other than task management, team work, situation awareness and decision making. Flin et al in their excellent article on Anesthetists’ and non-technical skills have pointed out that deficiencies in these can contribute to medical error and adverse events.(4) Ghodki et al has demonstrated these non-technical skills with day to day examples in her editorial on soft skills for anesthetists.(5) Quality Communication Quality communication should be the key element of the OT milieu. Gawande et al documents 43% of adverse events to be due to communication failure. Lingard et al has noted 30% of adverse events due to lack of standardization and team integration. Reluctance to interrupt, fear of embarrassment, and concern of being misjudged or inability to verbalize thoughts are the most common causes of communication failure. The challenge is to overcome the barriers and speak up. (6) Two challenge rule of advocacy and curiosity practiced in aviation has been strongly recommended in OT and critical care setting as well. While advocacy means deliberate practice to express your concern without being offensive, curiosity is to understand others point of view. The bottom-line of effective communication is to give clear precise instructions and ensure that the loop is closed and correct action executed. Non verbal clues like facial expressions, body language and above all the ability to listen to others make a whole lot of difference. (7) Infection Control Another important area which definitely needs our valuable contribution is infection control. Practice your 5 moments of hand hygiene religiously. Use personal protection equipment (PPE) and sterile aseptic precautions while doing any invasive procedures like central neuraxial blockade (CNB) and central venous cannulation. There has been a lot of apathy regarding the use of face masks while performing CNB’s. An observational study found that most cases of meningitis after CNB were due to Streptococcus, a commensal in the respiratory tract. Let’s see what the CDC (Centre for Disease Control and prevention) has to say in this respect; facemasks should always be used when injecting any material or inserting a catheter into the epidural or subdural space, aseptic technique and other safe injection practices should always be followed for all spinal injection procedures. Excellent protection from an appropriate mask lasts for ∼15 minutes. A proper large, soft, pleated, pliable mask (as opposed to a cloth mask) remains a good bacterial filter for up to 8 hrs. It is prudent to change mask after each procedure. The correct segregation of healthcare waste on site is vital and we as anesthetists have our share of responsibility too! As a matter of fact during my training in England, I learnt by observing my seniors and consultants to dispose the sharps after use myself into the sharps can. Any contaminated or infectious disposables should be discarded in the yellow bag for further disposal. Black bag is meant only for non contaminated packaging, tissues, and disposable cups. (1) Mobile Menace The only word which comes to mind when I think of smartphones is menace. However, these have become an integral part of the healthcare sector responsible for innovation, teaching and education, data entry and many others. It’s difficult to dissociate smartphones but we can try to minimize its use in the OT. Apart of being a significant source of nosocomial infections due to handling of mobiles by healthcare professionals by contaminated hands, they are a potent source of distraction. Although anesthetists are trained in multitasking while maintaining situational awareness, it may sometimes result in lack of concentration. Sterile cockpit rules followed in aviation industry apply to OT environment as well. To prevent interference with medical equipment a safe 1m rule is followed although most of the equipments are not affected due to electromagnetic radiation. It would be a good idea to store mobiles in plastic bag to prevent cross contamination. Restricted use of mobiles is highly recommended with regulation of ring tones. (8) Needless to mention that use of unparliamentary language is strictly prohibited as it can lead to dire consequences. With the use of smartphones, use of social media has become inevitable with a variety of websites and groups on facebook where patient information is shared for discussion and knowledge sharing. It is our singular responsibility to obtain patient’s consent, hide PID (Patient Identifiable Data) to protect security and privacy and maintain confidentiality all the time. “Unnecessary noise is the most cruel absence of care which can be inflicted either on sick or on well.” —Florence Nightingale, 1859 Specifically within hospitals, average noise levels of 45 dBA or less are recommended. Both National Institute for Occupational safety and Health and Occupational safety and Health Administration guidelines agree that the peak level for impulsive noise (characterized by a steep rise in the sound level to a high peak followed by a rapid decay) should not exceed 140 dBA. (9) The most common source of noise is loud chatter and music followed by arranging metal instruments, suction apparatus, monitor alarms, air warming units, various mobile ringtones. The most commonly reported short term healthcare consequences are distraction leading to serious communication gaps, negative impact on anesthetist and surgeon performance, increased chances of surgical site infection especially when junior surgical staff is closing the wound with music playing in background. Thus, noise prevention is a collective responsibility to be shared by entire staff in OT for an error free surgery. Strict adherence to sterile cockpit rules during surgery as well anesthetic critical moments like induction, extubation and administering CNB’s and regional blocks. (9) What you do has far more impact that what you say!- Stephen Covey. Anesthetist being the team leader, MUST WALK THE TALK! The team members don’t listen to what you say but follow what you do. The future is definitely bright for anesthetists with the introduction of non-technical skills in undergraduate curriculum. Neurolinguistic programming and simulation training will further enhance our situational awareness and response to crisis moments. Acknowledgment: I owe this editorial to all the members of TAS (The Anaesthetist Society) and especially Dr Shiv Kumar Singh whose posts and discussions have given me ideas galore and inspired me to think laterally and compose them

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of the importance and performance of early childhood teachers' resilience and to seek improvement measures. Methods teachers working at kindergartens and daycare centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. For the col-lected data, IPA analysis was conducted to verify the difference in the importance and performance of early child-hood teachers' resilience, and to verify future improvements. Results As a result of IPA analysis by sub-factor of resilience, self-regulation ability was analyzed as a factor to be mainly improved. As a result of the analysis by detailed items, in self-regulation ability, “control of emotions,” “not getting caught up in my emotions,” “overcoming temptation or disturbance when something needs to be done,” “attempting to fully understand the cause in a problem situation,” in interpersonal skills, “finding the appro-priate phrase or word for what you want to express,” “getting love and attention from people around you,” “thinking that people who meet me like me,” “believe that they can control the problems that happen to me,” “thinking that various conditions in my life are satisfactory,” and “satisfied with my life” were the items to invest heavily in. Conclusions These results suggest that in order to strengthen the resilience of early childhood teachers, it is first necessary to develop the ability to control, check, and adjust the current mind or behavior.

Communication about life-threatening disease and palliative care is essential but often experienced as difficult by those concerned and has mainly been studied in terms of its verbal components. Despite the fundamentality of nonverbal communication, its dimensions in care, especially in the communication by patients and their significant others, has not been as extensively examined. Drawing on a secondary qualitative content analysis of data from 23 interviews—15 with patients in specialized palliative home care in Sweden and 8 with their significant others—this study aims at understanding and characterizing how patients verbally express experiences of conveying nonverbal cues about life-threatening disease and its consequences and how their significant others express perceiving these cues. Patients expressed experiences of nonverbal communication in the form of cues conveying meaning about their disease and its consequences, often beyond their control. Whether and how the patients reinforced these cues verbally, depended on individual needs, care for others, and evaluations of relationships. Significant others acknowledged the presence of nonverbal cues and tried to interpret their meaning. Both patients and significant others emphasized the importance of nonverbal cues and actively related to how cues in the form of bodily appearance, aids, objects and acts, serve communicative functions about disease and its consequences. These dimensions of nonverbal communication are characterized as: body talk, extension talk and action talk. This study contributes to an international knowledge base on the complexities of nonverbal communicative aspects in these dimensions and how it affects patients and significant others. Professionals should be aware that dimensions of care, such as prescribed aids, from the patients’ perspective can be perceived as nonverbal cues that might “speak of” disease progression.

The purpose of this paper is to present the main data about the health care sector depends on how it is financed and thus the choice of an appropriate model healthcare system. The article shows a comparative analysis of health care systems in European countries of the OECD. Based on the literature, the general characteristics of Beveridge and Bismarck systems are presented. The evolution of the health care system in the world arises from a different history, conditions for economic development, diversity, under State policy, geographical location and cultural. Every country in the world takes part in the financing of health care, which is 20-80% of the expenditure on health. According to t. Szumlicza you must distinguish between concepts: "model" and "standard". The "formula" is understood in the context of the broader concept of "model of the health system". As the author of finding "patterns express different real concept of health policy while the term" pattern "prejudge the specific choice of health policy, which is a reference to the health care system". The World Health Organisation defines the term "health system" as a system covering all organizations, investment and institutions whose concept is to create actions on improved health. According to the Organization's objectives is the basis for the operation of the system of health protection, which targets focus on: constant improving population health, meeting the demand needs of health services, where the recipient is you as a consumer. On the other hand, the term "health care" defined by the WHO as a program of benefits in accordance with medical knowledge necessary to promote and maintain health by sharing individuals and entire populations. C. Wlodarczyk stresses that for the proper definition of the concept of health system you must extract the three spheres of the impact of health policy: health, administrative institutions and finance health and traditional public health activities. Many definitions that appear in the literature points to the narrower scope of the definition of the concept of "health care system" than those WHO suggested.. Author B. McPake and colleagues present the thesis that the health system consists of payers, healthcare providers and regulatory bodies together with relationships that occur between them. These relationships are presented for four health system functions: regulatory, financial, allocation of resources and the provision of services. C. Bailey and S. Poździoch describe that the health system is a whole, consisting of a variety of elements, the associated affinity, between which there are relationships. S. Poździoch is used for the definition of the system: "organized and coordinated team actions, whose aim is the realization of benefits and services and awareness campaign-therapeutic and rehabilitation aimed at protection and improvement of the health status of the individual and the collective ". The fact is the large role played by the State in the health system.

The article is devoted to the consideration of the basics of the development of written Russian speech at the initial stage of training in the process of working on a presentation. The presentation is based on the imitation of the model. Therefore, the statements play an important role in training, education, intellectual and speech development. The basis of the presentation is work with the word, sentence, text, plan for this text, retelling. In order for students to correctly and consistently express the necessary material in writing, the teacher needs to offer students types of work that would contribute to this. You also need to work on spelling and grammar. All this is taken into account when developing a detailed lesson plan. The main aspects of the methodological system of work on the development of written language are investigated. The characteristic of various types of presentation is given: detailed, close to the text; compressed; selective; according to the amended plan. The methodical system of work on the presentation according to the finished and collectively drawn up plan under the guidance of a teacher is presented. At the initial stage of training in the development of written Russian speech, an important place is given to a detailed, close to the text presentation, then selective and concise are introduced. At the same time, the methodology includes writing the presentation according to the finished plan and the collective drafted plan under the guidance of a teacher. These types of work must be combined throughout the training. Writing a statement on the finished plan includes answers to the questions of the plan in several sentences. The main mechanism aimed at developing writing skills for such a presentation is the reliance on retelling in parts of monosyllabic sentences with a logically consistent utterance. Writing the statement according to the finished plan contributes to the formation of such skills as the correct interpretation of the questions of the plan, which allows you to correctly construct the answer; as well as skillfully establishing a logical connection between parts of the text and the correct separation of paragraphs. Self-preparation of a plan for presentation involves dividing the story into main parts, including a logically consistent presentation of events. This work can be realized by repeatedly reading excerpts from the story, defining the topic of each part, highlighting the introduction and the final part by means of a schematic fixation. Work on the distribution of headings according to the content of the story prepares the students for the preparation of the plan. The results of the slice gave reason to believe that without appropriate preparation, approaching the required level of writing is impossible.

This article considers the conflict of the comical and the rational in the dialogues of the short-short film serial entitled “Tu mourras moins bête” (“You will die less stupid”) produced on the basis of comics of a French artist and caricaturist Marion Montaigne and broadcast by the French-German company ARTE. In the framework of the study we define a short-short film as a comic microfilm text whose structure includes a thesis and an argumentation sentence with an unexpected ending. This meets the specificity of the present popular scientific discourse both to inform and influence the viewer, thus making the interpretation easier.Analyzing the comical in popular scientific discourse, we rely on its conceptualization by the French philosopher Henri Bergson proposed in his essay “Laughter”. He considers the comic as the phenomenon appropriate only to the humans. Defined as the formula of laughter and a way of semiotization of funny aspects, the comical is used to express emotions which reinforce the impression the viewer receives from the information in the text. It is argued that due to frequent usage of the comical (typical of everyday speech) the author manages to convey both the rational and the emotional information in popular scientific discourse.A video sequence provides a good example of the two trends’ interaction in popular scientific discourse. The rational verbal description which already contains the main information needs to be demonstrated as the part of argumentation. In the film it is the borderline symptoms (manifestations) which are discussed and one of them “anger / impulsivity” is demonstrated in a comical form. The dialogue demonstrates the above symptoms of the character’s behavior with his/her usage of slang and vulgar language to make the situation funny and to add a stronger argumentative force to it.Another characteristic form of presenting knowledge in argumentation is realized by means of nonsense which makes the conflict of the rational and the comical possible. A necessary condition for it is the creation of two worlds (planes): one is real and rational, the other is fictional and irrational. Absurdity is supposed to play a game with the viewer in which audio and video sequence shows the absurdity of the naïve worldview in order to get home the knowledge more effectively.

Abstract Background Early childhood is an important period of language development, especially oral development. The language stimulation received by children during this period will form the continuity of their subsequent language development, and correspondingly affect the development of children's thinking, communication and cognitive ability. The language stimulation received by children during this period will form the continuity of their subsequent language development, and correspondingly affect the development of children's thinking, communication and cognitive ability. From the perspective of children's language learning psychology, they have a lot of expectations for the guiding role of teachers. However, the actual situation shows that in children's language learning activities, the role of teachers' promoters is seriously lacking, which is manifested in Teachers' low awareness of language purpose, lack of awareness of guiding communication, lack of support for children's experience and emotion, lack of demonstration and guidance and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the changes of teachers' leadership role on children's language, emotion and behavior. Participants and methods 100 preschool teachers from 15 kindergartens in Anyang City, Henan Province were observed, analyzed and interviewed by means of questionnaire and in-depth interview. According to the first-hand data collected by questionnaire survey and in-depth interview, the corresponding index system is established to study the correlation between children's language learning psychology and the effectiveness of teacher guidance and its impact on children's emotion. Results This study found that the fundamental reason for the lack of “guidance” in Teachers' language representation is that kindergarten teachers lack an accurate and profound understanding of the meaning of “guidance” and do not pay enough attention to teachers' professional language., And lack of enough motivation to improve their language literacy. At the same time, we analyzed the correlation between children's emotional regulation ability and healthy behavior. The results show that through the investigation of the impact of emotional behavior, there is a significant positive correlation between teachers' guidance and their emotional regulation ability (P < 0.01), indicating that the higher the degree of guidance, the stronger the teachers' emotional regulation ability. Emotional regulation. At the same time, the study found that the process of cognitive reappraisal is similar to epiphany problem solving. Both of them need children to re understand the problem situation in order to better explain the event. Epiphany refers to the sudden emergence of new ideas and new ideas due to an opportunity when a problem can't be solved. The representation transformation theory of insight believes that the solution of insight problem requires individuals to change the inappropriate initial representation of the problem, and establish a new and appropriate problem representation through the reconstruction of the problem, so as to solve the problem. Epiphany is a core component of the creative process. From the perspective of cognitive psychology, Epiphany involves the reconstruction of problem situation, and cognitive reconstruction is the essential feature of epiphany. There are three main factors in cognitive reconstruction: distraction refocusing, cognitive reappraisal and constructive refocusing. Distraction refocusing refers to individuals thinking about other things, preferably positive things, without keeping in touch with emotional stimuli or events; Cognitive reappraisal refers to the change of emotion by changing the evaluation of events or situations that trigger individual emotion; Constructive refocusing refers to trying to change, redefine or explain the factual characteristics of an event, such as what behavior we choose? What has happened? What can you learn from it? Instead of explaining the situation. As one of the three factors of cognitive reconstruction, cognitive reappraisal has the characteristics of creative reconstruction. Conclusion In view of the above problems, we propose an effective expression of teachers' “guidance” based on “children's position”: pay attention to children's learning needs and speech level, and guide children to express their emotions completely and accurately; Pave the way for communication and guide children to express freely and easily in aesthetic experience; Improve the mother tongue quality of kindergarten teachers and guide children to express love in the family. Preschool teachers' guidance on children's language development includes respect and care for children, mastering the law of mother tongue learning, and the value orientation of aesthetics, pleasure, motivation and communication. It can be seen that preschool teachers' guiding language is not a simple skill, but the external embodiment of internal emotion and language accumulation. This is the natural externalization of rich mother tongue literacy. Therefore, to fulfill the guiding responsibility of children's language development, preschool teachers should not only study the law of children's language learning, pay attention to children's learning and aesthetic psychology, and pay attention to the professional requirements of teachers' language, but also pay attention to improving their mother tongue literacy and reflecting on their own teaching language.

The article is devoted to the strategy of development of the modern urban environment through the approaches of architectural design. It includes an analysis of the existing urban environment, identification of common problems in terms of information expediency, versatility and practicality, in order to form the right vector of action in overcoming the spatial and architectural shortcomings. The results of numerous studies indicate that in terms of thematic focus, the topic needs regular and systematic analysis to identify current population requirements for urban areas, in terms of appropriate organization and design of the architectural environment. The aim of this article is to consider architectural design as the next step in the development of architecture as art, in an urban environment with regular information and communication changes. The modern urban environment provides a wide range of conditions for creative activity, which forms new directions in science, art, culture, etc. Architectural design is just that new in art, which allows not only to use traditional means of architecture and design, but also to use such new ones as interactive architecture, interactive design, solving functional and aesthetic problems. In the design, based on the principles of environmental approach, changes the attitude to the objects of design and architecture, so - "their creation is no longer the end result of design, because they are considered not as authentic forms, but as means of providing optimal living conditions". The role of architectural design in the modern city and its practical application in a complex urban space is given. It is outlined that in addition to professional knowledge of designing an "architectural object" you need a set of knowledge of designing "architecture of the environment", which will help to consider the city as a spatial form and process, as a holistic formation and as pulsating changing matter, as physical space and mental organism. The conclusions of the article show that the types and forms of traditional organization of dynamically modified subject-spatial complexes, all changing realities of life require a more active and, most importantly, timely response of specialists in "environmental architecture" to human and societal demands. And such a reaction can be architectural design, which is based on a long-term method of working with space, which allows to formulate the general patterns of the model of artistic development and perception of subject-spatial environment – as a whole ecologically appropriate area. Architectural design is focused on the complex design of both large environmental systems and various architectural objects from the standpoint of the widest possible coverage of human interactions with nature, with the subject-spatial and socio-cultural environment. The issue of harmonization of the environment, which has not only a formal integrity, but also able to emotionally express the meaning and nature of lifestyle, is key in architectural design.

Understanding your user's daily life and interests is essential in providing insights that can be leveraged to define new design opportunities. However, when designing for older adults, this can be challenging because, users may find it complicated to express themselves; designers may have difficulties to take their perspective and empathize with them. This paper introduces the Leisure Time Canvas, an empathy toolkit designed to facilitate older users to share stories about their activities and hobbies, to elicit their perspectives, desires and needs, and thereby inspire the design process. We report on the design of the canvas and its explorative use with six older adults and reflect on the resulting stories and design implications. This canvas aims to facilitate interaction between designers and user groups that may be difficult to empathize with or experience challenges in verbalizing their needs.

Abstract Evidence shows that queer refugees in Germany neither have equal access to the health system, information, HIV-Testing and treatment, nor are they involved in HIV-Prevention. The community-based participatory health approach provides a valuable tool for building capacity and enabling queer refugees to create knowledge and develop appropriate prevention tools for their communities. “Your health, your rights” (2017-2018) is a 2-year community-based participatory health project, which aims to improve the involvement of queer refugees in HIV-Prevention, as well as to create appropriate prevention media in collaborative way. It is conducted by the National AIDS Organization in collaboration with partners from different immigrant organisations, queer refugees and AIDS service organisations - all based in Berlin. The components of the project include a multilingual participatory need assessment workshop, a series of capacity-building methodological workshops, a community-led art-based project and a participatory evaluation. 12 queer refuges choose to take part in the project and have been supported to document their lived experiences using community and concept mapping. Key topics and needs connected to sexual health have been jointly identified. Based on these results and in the framework of an art-based workshop participants created a design of multilingual website for queer refugees which delivers helpful information in appropriate way (www.queerrefugeeswelcome.de). The involvement of queer refugees in HIV-Prevention is possible, if it is enabled. The usage of participatory visual methods has opened up ways of participation of even highly traumatised refugees who otherwise are not able to verbally express their thoughts and enabled the communication between participants who don’t share the same language. Key messages The resources of queer refugees are identified and mobilised and community building processes are supported. The participants improved their competencies (empowerment). Service providers are able to tailor their services better to the needs of queer refugees.
