The article presents the results of the approbation of the electronic textbook, which was created as a means of developing pre-service specialists’ subject competence. The authors note that the e-textbook is an e-learning publication with a systematic presentation of learning content that corresponds to the educational program, includes digital objects of various formats and provides interaction. The advantages of electronic textbooks, features of development and use of Electrical Engineering electronic textbooks for vocational education were substantiated. The expediency of using an electronic book for the formation of pre-service specialists’ subject competence in the electrical field of vocational training has been presented. The levels of formation of subject competence were determined, and the efficiency of using the e-learning tool, which increased the level of student’s academic achievements, was proved. It was emphasized that the introduction of the developed Electrical Engineering electronic textbook gave grounds to state that the material offered in the book motivated the students to study and allowed them to solve learning problems successfully.

Textbooks must meet the criteria for appropriate textbooks that have been set by BSNP, so that the teaching materials in them are quality teaching materials. The purpose of this study was to analyze the Arabic language textbook for class VIII that was published by Erlangga whether the textbooks have met BSNP standards and has met the quality of textbooks based on aspects of material, presentation, language and graphics. This type of research was content analysis research, which aimed to analyze more deeply the content of Arabic textbooks for the class VIII in Madrasah Tsanawiyah. The approach used in this research was a qualitative approach. The method used was the study of documentation and literature study. According the results of this study, Arabic textbooks for class VIII published by Erlangga are books that were not fully in accordance with BSNP standards and meet the quality of teaching materials based on material, presentation, linguistic, and graphic aspects. Based on the study, it could be concluded that this Arabic book was worthy of being used as a handbook based on its advantages. A prominent weakness of this book was from the aspect of graphic presentation.

Phrasal verbs (PVs) are one of the most notoriously puzzling aspects of English language instruction. Despite their difficulty and idiosyncrasies, they are of high relevance for ESL/EFL learners because mastery of PVs is often equated with language proficiency. Different from prior researches, this content analysis study seeks to identify the PVs used in the Malaysian upper secondary school textbooks and the frequency count of each PV in each textbook using a corpus linguistic approach. The most frequently PVs in each textbook were compared to the list provided by Biber et al (1999)’s Longman Grammar of Spoken and Written English corpus. Findings from this study revealed that the selection and presentation of these combinations in the secondary school textbooks used in Malaysia depended more on authors’ intuition rather than on empirical findings and pedagogical principles. There were no clear explanations of Phrasal Verbs in both textbooks that were analysed. Despite the large number of PVs in the corpus, their presentation in the textbooks was far from satisfactory with some being over-repeated at the expense of some others. This paper makes a few suggestions to further improve the present treatment of PVs in the textbooks used at upper secondary schools in Malaysia. It is suggested that accurate definitions and appropriate selection and presentation of PVs should be considered. Rather than relying on intuition, Malaysian textbook writers must consider integrating the use of corpus into their selection of PVs to be presented to students.

The textbook is an integral component of the ELT classroom. They need to be evaluated periodically, as the needs of learners change according to time, context, and approaches to identify their strengths and weakness. The aim of this research is to evaluate High School English textbooks at schools in Afghanistan. The textbooks include ELT books: ‘English for Afghanistan: for grades 10-12’ designed by the Ministry of Education of Afghanistan. For this purpose, the researcher used McDonough Shaw’s (2003) model. Both the external and the internal evaluation criteria are applied to the textbooks. The findings indicate that the textbooks are designed for local purposes, which reflect Afghan religious and cultural values. The study also indicated that the textbooks are based on communicative language teaching which includes different situations for teaching the topics. However, the textbooks also had some drawbacks. The listening skill, which is the main component of the CLT approach, is completely neglected; the grammar activities are brought in the deductive approach, and the textbooks are gender-biased. Overall, the textbooks are up to date and meet the learners’ needs and wants, and can achieve the objectives made for each unit. However, the findings of the research can be more useful for teachers, syllabus designers, materials developers, methodology experts, and test designers in revising the textbooks.

This study investigated the degree to which maker competencies can be cultivated by learning the dietary life units of fifth and sixth practical arts textbooks, including areas for improvement in cultivating maker competencies in dietary education. The study analyzed six maker competency groups (integrated thinking, collaboration, making mind, human-centered, problem discovery, and making practice) and their sub-competencies as they appear in these units. The analysis yielded the following results. First, in the dietary life units of the practical arts textbook based on the 2015 revised practical arts curriculum, both the integrated thinking competency group and the making practice competency were found in 100% and 54.8% of the 5th-grade textbooks and 54.2% and 61.9% of the 6th-grade textbooks, respectively. The making mind competency group was present in 50% of 5th-grade textbooks and 37.5% of 6th-grade textbooks, while the collaboration competency group appeared in 33.3% of 5th-grade textbooks and 50.0% of 6th-grade textbooks. The problem discovery competency group featured in 50% of the 5th-grade textbooks but was entirely absent in the 6th-grade textbooks. Furthermore, the human-centered competency group was not reflected in either the 5th or 6th grade textbooks. Second, the integrated thinking competency group featured prominently in the achievement criteria units focused on theoretical learning, such as [6Practiacl Arts 02-01], [6Practiacl Arts 02-04], and [6Practiacl Arts 02-09]. Furthermore, the making practice and making mind competency groups were predominantly reflected in the achievement criteria units involving food making, such as [6Practiacl Arts 02-02] and [6Practiacl Arts 02-10]. In addition, the sharing and communication capabilities of the collaboration competency group were also reflected across most units. In conclusion, the study found that by learning the dietary life units of the practical arts textbook according to the 2015 revised practical arts curriculum, students successfully cultivated five of the six maker competency groups, excluding the human-centered competency group.

The article outlines the problems and prospects of using QR‑codes in modern textbooks of the New Ukrainian School. The analysis of the modern scientific researches devoted to problems of the modern textbook in the context of the use of QR‑codes is generalized. Prospects for the integration of modern information and communication technologies on the example of QR‑codes with the traditional presentation of educational material in the textbook are considered. It was found that the use of this technology has certain advantages for improving the quality of learning, individualization of learning and will extend the overall impact on traditional teaching literature in the context of solving a number of issues (maximum information on the minimum space of the textbook page, use of activity approach to learning, etc.). Psychological and pedagogical conditions of effective use of QR‑codes in modern textbooks of the New Ukrainian school are singled out.

The purpose of this article is to summarize the flow and textbook reorganization of Gyeongsang National University's writing curriculum and provide a reference point for the direction of future university writing textbooks by examining the characteristics of the recently published curriculum and the newly published textbooks. Despite the abundance of the literature addressing culture incorporation in English language teaching and learning, the study of the implicit, as well as the explicit, cultural representations in EFL textbooks’ linguistic content formulates an essential part with a consensus on its significant importance. Since 2012, a new EFL textbooks series written by foreign authors has been adopted in Iraq; this series does not seem to have gained a lot of quality research about the hidden curriculum, particularly related to its cultural content. This study investigates culture integration in the content of “English for Iraq” textbook series currently used in the intermediate schools in Iraq, aiming at detecting both any potential acculturation, and the kind of culture, (surface or deep) emphasized in the written texts and the visuals of the textbooks’ content. A qualitative research method is employed based on a descriptive content analysis. Findings show that the textbooks encompass sharp difference in the frequency occurrences of the cultural representations, resulting to the dominance of both the source (Iraqi local cultural) culture, and the two cultural dimensions, products and persons. This imbalanced representation drives the textbooks to be source-culture-based textbooks with least probability of acculturation, and be prevailed with surface culture materials focusing on items like Folks, Fairs, Festivals, and Food, which turn the textbooks to look like tourist’s guide books. The textbooks then follow a traditional approach for integrating culture in their content. The proposed article discusses approaches to the study of linear algebra topics studied at the engineering faculties of Vyatka State University. The analysis of some textbooks and textbooks in mathematics for higher educational institutions has been carried out, as a result of which approaches in the sequence of studying some topics of linear algebra have been identified. The article suggests another sequence of studying topics based on the need for the appearance of a particular term. The advantages and disadvantages that appeared during the testing of such a sequence in the study of mathematics at the Faculty of electrical engineering are described. The article provides several examples of test questions to assess the level of assimilation of the material. The materials of the article can be useful for teachers working at engineering faculties. В предлагаемой статье рассмотрены подходы к изучению тем линейной алгебры, изучаемых на инженерных факультетах Вятского государственного университета. Проведен анализ некоторых учебников и учебных пособий по математике для высших учебных заведений, в результате которого выделены подходы в последовательности изучения некоторых тем линейной алгебры. В статье предложена еще одна последовательность изучения тем, основанная на необходимости появления того или иного термина. Описаны достоинства и недостатки, появившиеся в ходе апробации такой последовательности при изучении математики на электротехническом факультете. This study explores the socio-material network associated with elementary school teachers’ invention unit textbooks through the lens of Actor-Network Theory. Using a qualitative case study method, the research process involved basic research, interviewer selection, data collection, data analysis, and a summary of the results. The subjects were selected through purposive sampling, and the interview questions covered six areas: class focus, class community, media use, teacher experiences, curriculum restructuring, and class environment creation. Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) verification and content validity verification were conducted. The data comprised transcribed interviews, which were analyzed via open coding and visualized as an Actor-Network Map. The results of this study are as follows. First, the study analyzed elementary school teachers' research on invention unit textbooks through an actor-network theoretical perspective, visualizing results through an Actor-Network Map. In the spaces of prescription and spaces of negotiation, various actors, including teachers who were the Obligatory Passage Point (OPP), were forming a network called “Textbook Research.” Second, based on the Actor-Network Map, the study analyzed the unique characteristics and significance of elementary school teachers’ research on invention unit textbooks. Actors were found to occasionally strengthen or weaken the cohesion of the network “Textbook Research” while also attracting other actors into the network. This study confirms that research on invention unit textbooks is not solely a measure of teacher competency but a complex web of relationships involving various non-human substances such as humans, objects, technologies, and institutions. In addition, it highlights the need for a more comprehensive understanding of invention education by examining the research on invention unit textbooks using various theories.

ArgumentThis paper discusses one aspect of the context in which atomic physics developed in Japan between 1905 and 1931. It argues that during this period, there was a social context in which atomic physics was valued as a study of the electron and was thus relevant to electrical engineering. To demonstrate this, I first show that after the Russo-Japanese War, electrical engineering was deemed a valuable and viable field of research in Japan. Second, I show that physicists wrote textbooks and popular accounts about the electron, covering topics from both atomic physics and electrical engineering and presenting the former as relevant to the latter. Finally, as an example of how atomic physics partially emerged from this context, I discuss the group of Kujirai Tsunetarō, an electrical engineer who worked in the physics department of the Institute for Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN). From Kujirai's group, Nishina Yoshio started his career and became the most important Japanese atomic and nuclear physicist of the 1930s.

The aim with this study was to analyse and explore how physical sciences, engineering science and technology subjects (technical electrical technology, technical civil technology, technical mechanical technology) can contribute to the alignment of the technical sciences curriculum. We used document analysis to collect data. An analysis of the curriculum and assessment policy statements (CAPS) for technical sciences, physical sciences, electrical technology, civil technology, mechanical technology, and textbooks for engineering science was done. The findings of the study suggest that the technical science curriculum is a replica of the physical science curriculum. We recommend that the technical sciences curriculum be reviewed such that relevant scientific concepts can be used to bridge the gaps identified in the curriculum. The implications are that a new, aligned technical sciences curriculum that is relevant for technology subjects must be developed.

The purpose of this study is to compare and discuss how well the publisher, ChatGPT, and NMT have preserved 'naturalness' in translating TOEIC textbooks. In order to engage in such a discussion, we compared and analyzed all the translations in the beginner-level TOEIC textbook's explanation booklet provided by Company H. These were classified into four categories for analysis: firstly, 'violation of naturalness' due to excessive use of foreign language, secondly, 'violation of naturalness' due to indiscriminate use of passive/active voice, thirdly, 'violation of naturalness' due to abbreviated translation, and fourthly, 'violation of naturalness' due to literal translation of vocabulary. The analysis results revealed that none of the three types of translations perfectly preserved 'naturalness.' In particular, Company H's textbook translations required a slightly more learner-oriented naturalness than ChatGPT or machine translations.

This study aimed to examine the subject of liberal arts Korean textbooks for international college students studying in Korean universities, focusing on culture of college life, and to explore future tasks. Based on previous studies, the culture of college life were classified into seven categories. In addition, as a result of analyzing textbooks for three types of academic Korean learners based on this, it was found that the contents of the 'interpersonal relationships' category need to be supplemented first. Second, it is necessary to select and arrange culture of college life items to be reflected in the textbook in consideration of the appropriateness and diversity of the subject, and the needs of learners. Finally, it is necessary to consider how to integrate culture of college life into textbooks, and not simply provide information on the system or explain and deliver related manual.

The purpose of this study was to explore how mathematical reasoning, one of the most important topics in school mathematics, is implemented in elementary school mathematics textbook. To this end, this study analyzed the type of reasoning, level of cognitive demands, and structural characteristics of mathematical reasoning tasks provided in the elementary school mathematics textbooks. As a result of this study, it was revealed that the mathematics textbooks had the strength of providing sufficient tasks dealing with pattern recognition type, but were deficient in providing tasks dealing with multiple types of mathematical reasoning, such as making a conjecture, investigating a conjecture, developing a justification, finding a counterexample, and evaluating an argument. Regarding the level of cognitive demands of mathematical reasoning tasks, the mathematics textbooks provided sufficient tasks of procedures with connections, but insufficiently provided tasks of doing mathematics requiring complex thinking. In relation with the structural characteristics of mathematical reasoning, the mathematical reasoning tasks in the mathematics textbooks embodied only the aspects of pattern recognition-making a conjecture and pattern recognition-developing a justification, but were insufficient in embodying the structural flow of mathematical reasoning. In addition, this study suggested that elementary school mathematics textbooks need to provide a wealth of tasks dealing with multiple types of mathematical reasoning, tasks of doing mathematics, and tasks reflecting the structural characteristics of mathematical reasoning.

Electrical engineering education textbooks usually restrict the linking between theory and practical work in power quality problems, such as voltage sag/swell. This paper presents a mathematic model of the power signal and digital signal processing tools, such as Kalman filter and wavelet transform, for analysis and detection of voltage sag/swell. Aiming at education and teaching in electrical power quality courses, M files for Kalman filter and wavelet transform in the Matlab program are introduced to record and track the waveform distortion with harmonics, voltage sag or a pulse, which allow students to simulate the effect of voltage sag and to see immediately the advantages and limitations of these two techniques for power quality problems.

The article describes Tesla’s inventions in physics. Tesla’s engineering spirit is compared to M. Faraday’s and A. A. Michelson’s spirit of discovery in electromagnetism. Tesla’s unfinished investigative journey, from great experiments in electrical technology and radio technology to the physical theories he derived from them, are examined historically and scientifically. Several discoveries and individual experiments are described that were signifcant in the subsequent development of accelerator technology, as well as Tesla’s monopole antenna for high power and long-range electromagnetic waves, in which the principle of Tesla’s transformer is applied. Within the framework of classical electromagnetic theory, calculations and modern analysis of the system for the study of Tesla’s model of the long-distance wireless transmission of electromagnetic energy or information are presented, demonstrating the scientific basis for Tesla’s ideas. The coverage of Tesla’s inventions and contributions in the physics and electrical engineering curricula at the University of Zagreb is reviewed, especially in textbooks and other works by Ivan Supek, Vatroslav Lopašić and Tomo Bosanac. An interpretation is offered of Tesla’s interest in Goethe’s poetry, which provided an impetus for his inventions and desire for knowledge.

The history of Mahan is historically important in relation to the identity of today's Republic of Korea and the Korean people. Nevertheless, the lack of relevant materials and the resulting indifference are treated lightly in textbooks. Textbooks dealing with Mahan alone do not exist, but are described as part of Samhan. The first Korean history textbook published immediately after independence devoted a significant portion to history of Mahan. During the 3rd Curriculum period, the amount of description of the history of Mahan increased significantly. However. Most of the content was copied directly from the Sanguozhi dongyizhuan. In addition, as the introduction of related archaeological materials was reduced, both the quantity and quality of the content deteriorated. In order to normalize the description of the history of Mahan in history textbooks in the future, it is necessary to properly recognize the problems and their causes and correct them. In particular, the status and existence of Mahan as a regional history should actively reflect recent research results and be written in content that everyone can accept.

This study examines ESL textbooks of English language of grade 9th and 10th of Punjab model schools in Pakistan. In order to achieve the goals of research, the qualitative method was used and applied Paul Elder’s Critical Thinking Model (2008) on the text books of grades 9 and 10. The collected data was analyzed qualitatively. Activities mentioned in the textbooks of grades 9 and 10 of Punjab textbook board were extracted and analyzed in the light of Paul and Elder’s CT model. ESL teachers’ interviews regarding the said textbooks serve as an insight into the role of critical thinking among learners. Mention the period of analysis. There relevance exists between the exercises given in English textbooks with the model of critical thinking prosed by Paul and Elder. However, the teachers of Government schools are unaware of the critical thinking perspective and some sessions of critical thinking training need to be offered to the English school teachers of Government schools. The results of the study have significant implications for material developers. The study recommends that the Government of Punjab may provide a training program to the teachers who may get some sort of training and implement on the students the best of teaching practices in Pakistan. In the same context, the analysis of interviews shows that teachers have been playing a passive role in the promotion of CT in the teaching process. Hence, there is a need to organize some training sessions to make them aware of the basic concept and importance of CT in Pakistan.

Textbooks based on the teaching and learning process should be relevant to any students including students with disability, there are a lot of textbooks that are not suitable enough to provide accessible material. The goal of this study was to evaluate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) concepts in 2 online modules on UDL that were taught over one semester alongside English as a Foreign Language (EFL) lectures. The module is divided into 10 chapters that each discuss one of five categories of exploratory texts. To clarify the ULD concepts used in the curriculum, this research applied Textbook analysis using the Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST 2018) design framework. The results demonstrate that more ULD concepts, which notably provide multiple means of engagement, representation, and action & expression, can be used to provide better accommodation for blind students to support inclusion in educational materials. In addition, a strong desire to use the UDL concepts in their future teaching is encouraged through university modules. There is a discussion of restrictions and repercussions.

Two approaches to rationality characterize the understanding of management accounting and control: one descriptive, based on empirical research and allowing for a variety of versions of rationality; the other normative, explained to undergraduate students through voluminous textbooks on management accounting and control and based predominantly on the idea of formal rationality. Whereas the descriptive approach is often presented as a contrast to the normative approach, the normative approach seems largely independent of empirical research or new management methods. It is suggested that the teachings of management accounting and control be based on insights from academic research prevalent within the descriptive approach to rationality. This paper explores the ways to improve efficiency of bilingual education in electrical information courses. Based on the bilingual education practice of Electric Circuits and Data Communications and Networking, a questionnaire was done to illustrate the current problems of bilingual education in our college. After analyzing the factors, the paper argues that bilingual teachers’ training is necessary; bilingual textbooks have to be introduced; dual language immersion works well and autonomous learning platform needs to be developed. The integration of those strategies with information technology contributes to the improvement of bilingual education.

Current English Language Teaching (ELT) textbooks have largely adopted the communicative approach by using authentic materials to foster EFL students’ communicative competence. However, the communicative status of Saudi high school English textbooks has been underexplored. One way to assess the authenticity of Saudi EFL textbooks is by considering their use of a frequent linguistic item known as lexical bundles. Thus, the present study investigated whether the lexical bundles in communicative Saudi high school textbooks are representative of conversational English. This comparative corpus study used a lexical bundle approach to compare the ten most frequent lexical bundles in the textbooks to those in an English reference corpus. Results show that three and four-word lexical bundles are less frequent in the textbooks compared to the reference corpus and that there is considerable variation in the structural and functional patterns of the bundles in the two corpora. Pedagogical implications are discussed in light of the findings.

The aim of this paper is to propose measures to refine activities in Korean language textbook learning, making them suitable for learner-participatory instruction. Firstly, the foundations and orientations of learner-participatory method were examined, through which the problem awareness present in major learner-participatory learning models was identified. Based on this, the essential core principles of learning innovation proposed by these major learnerparticipatory learning models in response to their respective problem awareness were extracted. Lastly, by incorporating these identified problem awareness and innovative ideas through the approach of 'drawing upon,' guidelines were formulated to refine textbook activities from the perspective of implementing learner-participatory instruction. The practical implementation of refining activities in Korean language textbooks using these guidelines is illustrated.

This study set out to evaluate three English as an additional language (EAL) textbooks used by junior high schools in the Ho West District of Ghana. It adopted a critical literacy framing and employed purposive sampling to select five junior high schools in the Ho West District. It utilised a modified version of Bloom’s (1956) taxonomy of cognitive dimensions and Cummins’ (1999) CALP, respectively, to evaluate the language contents of the three EFA textbooks: Book 1, Book 2, and Book 3. The three evaluated areas were: thinking skills; integration of various school subjects; and critical language awareness. Two of the findings of this study are worth mentioning. First, of the six cognitive dimensions of a modified version of Bloom’s taxonomy that are graded in degrees of cognitive complexity (e.g., from lower-order thinking skills to higher-order thinking skills), knowledge, as the first lower-order cognitive skill, was the most foregrounded in all the three textbooks. It was followed by understanding as the second lower-order cognitive skill. Second, all the three textbooks incorporated elements of other school subjects in their language contents in line with CALP. By contrast, all the three textbooks did not foster or develop critical language awareness. Overall, the three textbooks foregrounded lower-order thinking skills over higher-order thinking skills such as analysis, inventive thinking (synthesis), and evaluation.

Textbooks writing must consider the theories put forward by experts who are competent in their field. In this study, the researcher examined textbooks for Islamic junior high school (Madrasah Tsanawiyyah) with guidelines of the research on the theory put forward by Muhammad Ali Al-Khuli. The purpose of this study was to find out whether the mufrodat and tarkib material presented in textbooks was in accordance with the theory presented by Muhammad Ali Al-Khuli. This type of research was library research. The data sources were textbooks and supporting sources such as books, articles, and documents related to the research. Meanwhile, content analysis was used in analyzing the data. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there were still presentations of mufrodat and tarkib that were not in accordance with the theory of linguists. This could affect the process of acquiring a second language for students. If the presentation of the material were not in accordance with the expert's explanation, the acceptance of the material would be less than optimal. It was expected that there would be improvements to the books that are already in circulation. For the printing of the next edition, the editor would be expected to check thoroughly before the book is printed and distributed.

The purpose of this paper is to understand technique teaching methods and textbook literature by comparing and analyzing the beginner piano techniques of Piano Adventure, Piano Academia, Magic Finger Piano, which are domestic and foreign piano textbooks using a parallel reading approach. For the study, based on three references piano teaching strategies for 21st century teachers, successful piano teaching methods, and general theory of piano pedagogy, the study categorizes 10 techniques within the beginner learning goals. Next, the beginner techniques for each textbook are analyzed into the 10 types above. As a result, it was found that 7-8 techniques were evenly distributed through the three characteristic techniques icons, and that other techniques were classified as additional techniques and intermediate techniques. Accordingly, though detailed comparison and analysis, similar techniques are grouped and supplementary and characteristic techniques are selected. It will expand the range of technique education and textbook selection for domestic piano teachers and students who rely on Bayer.

This study aims to analyse the incorporation of multicultural education (ME) elements in the content and objectives of “Standard Korean”, a textbook series for primary students in the 2017 Korean curriculum. The criteria for content analysis of ME include rules/etiquette; intercultural understanding; utilisation of culture as a tool; Korean culture-centred; and others. The textbook strongly emphasises the understanding of the cultural background of Korea as a key content element. Activity analysis was conducted based on three criteria derived from content analysis: comprehension, experiential learning, and internalisation. The activities predominantly leaned towards a comprehensive aspect. To better address the cognitive development levels of the learners, including communication and experiential activities should be further incorporated. The reflective aspects of ME in “Standard Korean” appear to fall short of adopting a predominantly intercultural perspective overall. Korean language textbooks should evolve into customized resources capable of accommodating the diverse cultures of a variety of learners.

Włodzimierz Zygmunt Tarło-Maziński was the first commander of the radiotelegraphy unit of the Polish First Corps. He was a graduate of engineering courses at the Pavel Military School and the Officer Electrotechnical School of Electrotechnology in Petersburg (1915). He held the following positions: headmaster of the school in the Russian army’s radiotelegraphy units, lecturer of electrical and radio engineering at officer courses at the Western Front staff, and corps commander of the radiotelegraphy unit. In 1917 he was appointed military radioengineer. At that time he published textbooks in Russian: Records on Radiotelegraphy (1915) and Elementary Radiotelegraphy (1917), which were later published in Polish as Elementary Radiotelegraphy and Radiotelephony with a Brief Course in Electrical Engineering (Elementarna radiotelegrafia i radiotelefonia z pobieżnym kursem elektrotechniki, 1917) and Principles of Radiotelegraphy (Zasady radiotelegrafii, 1919). These were the first Polish publications on military radiotelegraphy. In the autumn of 1917, he became a member of the Polish Armed Forces that were formed in Russia, where as second lieutenant he became the first commander of the radiotelegraphy unit and the commander of the radiotelegraphy school at the Polish First Corps staff. The article provides a behind-the-scenes description of his insubordination to the orders of the commander of the Polish First Corps, basing on the archives of the Independent Radiotelegraphy Group and the Officer’s Adjudication Court.

Generalized functions, in particular the Heaviside unit step H( t) and the Dirac delta impulse δ( t), are valuable teaching tools in many contexts of electric circuits. However, engineering undergraduate courses and textbooks normally cover only an introduction to these functions along with their basic properties, without tackling the rigorous mathematical framework of the theory of distributions. In this work, the Heaviside function is used to represent a square wave signal f( t), and the Dirac function appears when the derivative is calculated. The steps for obtaining f ′( t) compare a graphical method with analytical procedures that employ the chain rule. The topic is further extended with the presentation of a theorem and a proposed corollary related to the study of the chain rule applied to general functions involving H( t) and δ( t). Thus, the work provides an appropriate mathematical support for the intuitive graphical method of analysis, which is very familiar in engineering practice.

The article examines the life and work of mathematician and educator A.P. Kiselev, whose textbooks were used in Russia for more than 50 years. Based on an analysis of Kiselev’s works, the key pedagogical features of his textbooks are identified, including rigorous presentation of material, scientific style, and a variety of practical exercises. Kiselev was among the first to introduce elements of mathematical analysis into secondary school mathematics curriculum. Kiselev’s textbooks defined the structure and content of school courses in arithmetic, algebra and geometry for many decades, and contributed to the systematization and unification of mathematical knowledge in secondary education. The author succeeded in combining fundamental mathematical knowledge with accessible presentation. His books embodied the principles of intra-subject (between arithmetic, algebra and geometry) and inter-subject (between teaching of mathematics, physics and drafting) continuity. A.P. Kiselev’s textbooks were in demand not only in the USSR, but also in other countries.

This investigation aims to decode the implicit ideologies in the chosen images and their function to support the process of getting an education in the Primary English Textbook (SNC2020) of grades (1-3) from the academic year (2021-22). This is qualitative research, data collected from the Primary English Textbook (SNC-2020) of grades (1-3). The latent qualitative content analysis under Multimodal Critical Discourse Analysis (MCDA) by (Machin & Mayer, 2012) decodes the illustrations. The findings reveal various Pakistani Cultural and Ethical themes and ideologies such as Studious Attitude at Home and Culture, Sharing and Creative Art, Assisting Elders with a Good Attitude, Pakistani Family Culture, Good and Bad Manners, Intellectual Mother and Ethical Education of a Child, Conversation Manner and Costume Culture, Home Culture and Intellectual Activities and Scheduled Routine of a Child. Moreover, the children are displayed in a proper posture while studying, and this teaches them the manner to sit and study. The children are involved in the creative art of making the card, and they write on it. This gives them the idea to enjoy along with studying. Thus, the socio-linguistic assessment is used to design an instructor’s training program and aid curriculum designers in improving the shortcomings in the textbooks.

This study aims to understand the current experiences of secondary school social studies teachers in teaching lessons related to social minorities, and to explore ways to improve the way social minorities are addressed in the curriculum, textbooks, and lessons. To achieve these goals, I conducted a survey and interviews. 66 secondary school social studies teachers nationwide participated in the survey and 5 in the interviews. Based on the results of the survey and interviews, the current secondary school social studies teachers are teaching “dry” classes that rely on textbooks and avoid controversy as much as possible due to their caution towards students who belong to social minorities and students who have negative attitudes towards social minorities. The implications of the findings are discussed in terms of the social studies curriculum and textbooks as follows. First, in terms of the social studies curriculum, it is suggested that more detailed guidelines for teaching about social minorities should be provided. Secondly, I suggest that the way in which social studies textbooks address ‘values issues’ needs to be reviewed and revised.

Plagiarism is an act of literature fraud, which is presenting others’ work or ideas without giving credit to the original work. All published and unpublished written documents are under the cover of this definition. Plagiarism, which increased significantly over the last few years, is a concerning issue for students, academicians, and professionals. Due to this, there are several plagiarism detection tools or software available to detect plagiarism in different languages. Unfortunately, negligible work has been done and no plagiarism detection software available in the Bengali language where Bengali is one of the most spoken languages in the world. In this paper, we have proposed a plagiarism detection tool for the Bengali language that mainly focuses on the educational and newspaper domain. We have collected 82 textbooks from the National Curriculum of Textbooks (NCTB), Bangladesh, scrapped all articles from 12 reputed newspapers and compiled our corpus with more than 10 million sentences. The proposed method on Bengali text corpus shows an accuracy rate of 97.31%

The available learning media still need to be improved and still limited in the learning process, especially in science subjects, because they only use textbooks and occasionally do simple practices. This study aimed to prove the effectiveness of the Serli E-Module based on Android (Seroid E-Module) on electricity subject to the learning outcomes of sixth-grade elementary school students. This research is conducted in two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The research design used in this study was the control group pre-test and post-test design. The subjects in this study were 35 students of sixth-grade elementary school. The instrument used is a test instrument, namely multiple choice questions tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used the conditional test, namely the normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the paired sample t-test assisted by SPSS For Windows 25. The results of this study show that the use of Seroid E-Modules in electricity material is effectively used on student learning outcomes. So, it can be concluded that the Seroid E-Module on electricity material can be used to improve the learning outcomes of class VI elementary school students.

Speech act of greeting is crucial in daily life, but Korean language learners often encounter difficulties due to the strong cultural characteristics reflected in the speech act of greeting. This study examines the characteristics of speech act of greeting, taking into account the elements of context of situation, and investigates how it is taught in Korean language education through the curriculum and textbooks. The variables of the context of situation that are typically observed in speech act of greeting include the characteristics of the 'setting' where the conversation takes place and the 'participants' involved, which can be further divided into the 'relationship between the speaker and the listener' and the 'relationship of meeting '. This study explores the role of these variables in speech act of greeting. By examining the position of the speech act of greeting within the Korean language education framework, focusing on the 'International Korean Standard Curriculum' and the 'Korean Standard Curriculum,' it is revealed that the speech act of greeting is presented in the first-level overarching goal, aimed at educating learners across different levels, incorporating the content of both the 'Functions and Tasks Area' and the 'Cultural Area.' However, the cultural area of speech act of greeting in the currently used textbooks, developed by the National Institute of the Korean Language, varies significantly depending on the textbook. Moreover, since it is primarily introduced at the beginner level, it may not fully align with the content prescribed in the curriculum.

This article was motivated by the problem of muhadatsah learning that there was no compatibility between the material and the student's environment. It made the students felt difficult to practice the material learned. Muhadatsah is the material to practice student conversation in Arabic. The purpose of this study was to develop a muhadatsah textbook based on contextual teaching and learning. The data of this study were obtained from interviews with muhadatsah teachers, field observations and questionnaires to experts. This book was suitable for teaching conversation and in accordance with the results of product evaluations from experts and product experiment results from students. The results of the product evaluation from the material expert were 93%, from Arabic Language expert were 94% and from design expert were 91%. The product trial results from the students were 88%. The development of muhadatsah textbooks based on contextual teaching and learning had a significant effect on improve speaking skills, improving student learning outcomes and making students more active in learning. Hence, this paper suggested the teacher and institution in solving the problems in Arabic learning especially muhadatsah.

The purpose of this study was to examine the teaching-learning aspects and problems of Korean temporal Adverbs in Synonymous Relation. 방금, 조금 전, 아까, 예전에’ and ‘금방, 조금후, 이따가, 나중에, which are treated as lexical groups of Synonymous Relation are frequently used as basic vocabulary, but actually, discrimination education for these vocabulary words has not been properly conducted. This study investigated teaching-learning aspects for students, textbooks and teachers. As a result of research, Students had difficulty distinguishing between “조금 전에-아까” and “조금 후에-이따가”. Most Korean textbooks simply present only the individual meanings and English translation information, and Teachers also lacked educational experience and knowledge of educational methods for temporal Adverbs in the classroom. In the future, The results of this study can be used as a reference for the education of temporal Adverbs and the method of presenting synonyms when producing Korean textbooks and educational materials.

This year marks 85 years of the National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” (National Research University "MPEI”). The department of engineering drawing was the first among other departments in the MEI, for which it is also the anniversary year. The organizer and the first head of this department from 1930 to 1962 was Eugeniy A. Glazunov - a prominent scientist and educator, engineer and organizer, who celebrates 125 years. At the beginning of 1930 the Department of Electrical Engineering Higher Technical School, which earlier E.A. Glazunov graduated, has been transformed into the Moscow Higher School of Energy, which became soon the Moscow Energy Institute. Eugeniy Glazunov was appointed to the head of the department of descriptive geometry and drawing in MPEI. (Some time this department was called "Technical graphics"). His name is undeservedly rarely mentioned in textbooks and other literature in applied geometry and graphics. But Eugeniy Glazunov was very authoritative in the circle geometry and graphics, and among the heads of departments he was one of the initiators and leaders of the Moscow seminar on descriptive geometry, who published his works, and the head of the department, who generously shared teaching materials with his related institution. But E.A. Glazunov had relatively few publications compared with present time. But there were very capital works. One of them was written in conjunction with the N.F. Chetverukhin and is called "Axonometry." But it was not only an outstanding organizer and teacher, but also a magnitude engineer — designer and practitioner in the field of electrical engineering. He was a team-mate, who developed and marketed the first installation, substation and network of well-known Russian electrification plan — the plan for electrification. Based on his experience and under his leadership tasks on the engineering drawing based on electrical products and parts were improved, and drawing ceased to be exclusively machine-building. His merits in the development of engineering education and his geometry and graphic component were so significant that he was awarded the title of professorship of Higher Attestation Commission without doctoral dissertation. He was also one of the highest awards of that time, the Order of Lenin (1951).

Many textbooks describe a balanced three-phase circuit by a single-phase equivalent representation. Confusion may arise amongst students regarding per-unit values of line-to-line voltages and phase voltages and, therefore, about the magnitudes of currents and powers. This paper proposes that students must first be taught symmetrical components based on power invariance transformation. A balanced three-phase circuit is to be described only in terms of positive sequence components. In the authors' experience, students understand this approach better and make fewer errors in per-unit calculation than when they use the single-phase equivalent representation.

This study examines the trends in writing-related educational research for foreign students and discusses the results. To achieve this, a comprehensive review of 95 papers published from 2001 to August in 2023 was conducted. Various data analysis techniques were employed, including frequency analysis, centrality analysis, and topic modeling, to extract valuable insights. The keywords obtained from the frequency analysis were “university” (190 times), “purpose” (168 times), “competence” (151 times), “academic” (146 times), “target” (143 times), “course” (139 times), “study abroad” (136 times), “analysis” (129 times), “content” (124 times), and “textbook” (117 times). The result of centrality analysis showed the similar words. The topics extracted through topic modeling were “selection of textbooks suitable for student ability,” “strengthening writing skills using reading materials,” “writing education through cultural understanding,” “utilization of self-reflection and narrative writing,” and “academic writing for academic purposes.” Based on these results, research trends were analyzed and their implications were discussed.
