Lake Kerinci is one of the 15 national priority lakes. In general, residents in this area carry out agricultural or plantation activities without applying conservation principles, resulting in a decrease in the carrying capacity of the Catchment Area (DTA). In addition, DTA Lake Kerinci has also experienced an increase in population, thus encouraging land-use changes. This study aims to analyze land-use changes in DTA Lake Kerinci. Analysis of land-use change analysis uses Landsat imagery 5 TM for 2009 and Landsat imagery 8 OLI-TIRS for 2019 using the guided classification method (Maximum Likelihood Classification/MLC). The accuracy of the image interpretation results is carried out through the Kappa accuracy test. Interpretation of land-use imagery and classification have relatively high accuracy with a kappa value of 78.67% (good) on land use in 2009, 83.30% (almost perfect) on land use in 2019, with an average Kappa Accuracy (KA) of 79.63%. Land-use changes in Lake Kerinci DTA for the 2009-2019 period experienced a significant increase in the area of dry agricultural land by 13% or 13,151.05 ha and a decrease in primary forest area by 6.76% or 6,834.13 ha.

The lake ice phenology variations are vital for the land–surface–water cycle. Qinghai Lake is experiencing amplified warming under climate change. Based on the MODIS imagery, the spatio-temporal dynamics of the ice phenology of Qinghai Lake were analyzed using machine learning during the 2000/2001 to 2019/2020 ice season, and cloud gap-filling procedures were applied to reconstruct the result. The results showed that the overall accuracy of the water–ice classification by random forest and cloud gap-filling procedures was 98.36% and 92.56%, respectively. The annual spatial distribution of the freeze-up and break-up dates ranged primarily from DOY 330 to 397 and from DOY 70 to 116. Meanwhile, the decrease rates of freeze-up duration (DFU), full ice cover duration (DFI), and ice cover duration (DI) were 0.37, 0.34, and 0.13 days/yr., respectively, and the duration was shortened by 7.4, 6.8, and 2.6 days over the past 20 years. The increased rate of break-up duration (DBU) was 0.58 days/yr. and the duration was lengthened by 11.6 days. Furthermore, the increase in temperature resulted in an increase in precipitation after two years; the increase in precipitation resulted in the increase in DBU and decrease in DFU in corresponding years, and decreased DI and DFI after one year.

Dryland ecosystems are fragile to climate change due to harsh environmental conditions. Climate change affects vegetation growth primarily by altering some key bio-temperature thresholds. Key bio-temperatures are closely related to vegetation growth, and slight changes could produce substantial effects on ecosystem structure and function. Therefore, this study selected the number of days with daily mean temperature above 0 °C (DT0), 5 °C (DT5), 10 °C (DT10), 20 °C (DT20), the start of growing season (SGS), the end of growing season (EGS), and the length of growing season (LGS) as bio-temperature indicators to analyze the response of vegetation dynamics to climate change in the Great Lakes Region of Central Asia (GLRCA) for the period 1982–2014. On the regional scale, DT0, DT5, DT10, and DT20 exhibited an overall increasing trend. Spatially, most of the study area showed that the negative correlation between DT0, DT5, DT10, DT20 with the annual Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) increased with increasing bio-temperature thresholds. In particular, more than 88.3% of the study area showed a negative correlation between annual NDVI and DT20, as increased DT20 exacerbated ecosystem drought. Moreover, SGS exhibited a significantly advanced trend at a rate of −0.261 days/year for the regional scale, while EGS experienced a significantly delayed trend at a rate of 0.164 days/year. Because of changes in SGS and EGS, LGS across the GLRCA was extended at a rate of 0.425 days/year, which was mainly attributed to advanced SGS. In addition, our study revealed that about 53.6% of the study area showed a negative correlation between annual NDVI and LGS, especially in the north, indicating a negative effect of climate warming on vegetation growth in the drylands. Overall, the results of this study will help predict the response of vegetation to future climate change in the GLRCA, and support decision-making for implementing effective ecosystem management in arid and semi-arid regions.

Differential thermal analyses (DTA) and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA) of seston, sediments, and sediment trap material from Lake Ontario were generally similar to each other but were strikingly different from those of the green alga Chlorella pyrenoidosa. Coinciding with the principal weight loss of carbohydrate material, the main exothermic reaction for all lake samples began at 200–250 °C and peaked at 345–355 °C. Trap samples varied over the season and samples from the deep traps (178 m) had exotherms which were broader with less energy content than from traps near the bottom of the metalimnion. This trend continued into the sediments. Compounds likely to be found in sediments (cellulose, chitin, and humic substances) were also analysed. The calcium carbonate endotherm which begins near 675 °C distinguishes this compound from the total "ash" content. DTA and TGA can be used to detect changes in composition of lake organic matter during the sediment-forming process.

Differential thermal analyses (DTA) and freeze viability tests were conducted to investigate the biophysics of freezing in floral buds of `Danka' black (Ribes nigrutn L.) and `Red Lake' red currants [Ribe.s sativum (Rchb.) Syrne] sampled from Nov. 1989 through Mar. 1990. Scanning electron microscopy was also used to determine the relationship between floral morphology and the freezing characteristics of the buds. Floral buds had multiple abrupt low-temperature exotherms (LTEs) and one or two broad LTEs in DTA tests. Abrupt LTEs from DTA were associated with apparent injury to the inflorescence in viability tests. The number of LTEs did not correspond to the number of racemes or flowers per bud, indicating that several flowers froze simultaneously. DTA experiments conducted in Dec. 1990 revealed that the broad exotherm detected between - 14 and - 20C in `Danka' samples resulted from freezing of supercooled water in the outer nonliving region of the periderm of cane tissue attached to the bud.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran Quality of Life (Kualitas hidup) pada pasien dengan ulkus kaki diabetes melitus (Diabetic Foot Ulcer / DFU) di Bali.Metode : Desain deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik sampel direkrut menggunakan convenience sampling yang melibatkan pasien dengan ulkus kaki diabetes melitus (Diabetic Foot Ulcer / DFU) dengan total sampel yang melibatkan 201 orang responden. yang dilakukan di ruangan department rawat jalan bedah Rumah Sakit Wangaya serta klinik perawatan luka di Bali Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner Diabetic Foot Ulcer Scale-Short Form (DFS-SF) dan Independent t-test digunakan untuk memahami gambaran kualitas hidup antara perempuan dan laki-laki dengan DFU. Penelitian ini sudah mendapatkan ijin etik oleh komite etik Universitas Udayana.Hasil : Karakteristik responden perempuan (n= 103; 51.2%), dan laki-laki (n= 98; 48.8%). Kualitas hidup sebagian besar memiliki kualitas hidup rendah yang buruk yaitu (<50)(n=133; 66.2%), dan kualitas hidup yang lebih baik yaitu (> 50)[n=68; 33.8%]. Skor rata-rata kualitas hidup pada pasien dengan DFU 42.4±15.5.Kesimpulan: Laki-laki dan perempuan pada pasien dengan ulkus kaki diabetes melitus menunjukkan kualitas hidup perempuan lebih rendah daripada laki-laki dengan diabetes melitus (DFU). Keluarga diharapkan tetap memotivasi dan mendukung pasien agar dapat berpartisipasi dalam aktivitas keagamaan atau kegiatan positif lainnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah didapat, Pasien dengan ulkus kaki diabetes melitus, baik laki-laki maupun perempuan merupakan suatu hal yang perlu kita perhatikan. Quality of life mostly has a low quality of life that is poor (<50) [n = 133; 66.2%], and a better quality of life (> 50) [n = 68; 33.8%]. The mean score of quality of life was 42.4±15.5. Conclusion: Male and female patients with diabetes mellitus foot ulcers show a lower quality of life for women than men with diabetes mellitus (DFU). Families are expected to continue to motivate and support patients to participate in religious activities or other positive activities.Keywords: diabetic foot ulcer, gender, and quality of life

(1) Proses persiapan meliputi koordinasi tim bersama mitra pengguna guna menghasilkan konsep dan rancangan patung landscafe, serta persiapan bahan dan peralatan. (2) Melaksanakan kegiatan proses pembuatan patung landscape. Yakni merumuskan konsep kegiatan, melaksanakan proses pembuatan rancangan gambar desain, pembuatan elemen-ellmen visual pendukung, menentukan bentuk, mewujudkan rancangan menjadi bentuk patung landscape di lokasi desa wisata. (3) Analisis hasil kreasi seni patung. Kegiatan menghasilkan satu set seni patung landscape didisplay di bumi perkemahan Selorejo Lestari. Patung tersebut berbentuk sosok figur seorang Laki-laki dewasa bersama anaknya sedang berdiri di atas pedestal, dengan membawa setangkai ranting pohon jeruk.

Der Baikalsee ist ein ideales Klimaarchiv für die Mitte Eurasiens. In dieser Arbeit wurde gesteinsmagnetische und paleomagnetische Analysen an hemipelagischen Sequenzen von vier Lokationen analysiert. Die Kerne erreichen ein Alter von maximal 300 ky. In Kombination mit TEM, XRD, XRF und geochemischen Analysen zeigt die gesteinsmagnetische Studie, dass detritischer Magnetit das magnetische Signal der glazialen Sedimente dominiert. Die magnetischen Signale der interglazialen Sedimente wurden durch diagenetische Prozesse verändert. Mittels HIRM können Hämatit und Goethit quantifiziert werden. Diese Methode eignet sich, den detritischen Eintrag in den Baikalsee abzuschätzen. Relative Paleointensitäten des Erdmagnetfeldes ergaben reproduizerbare Muster, welche in Korrelation mit gutdatierten Referenzproben die Ableitung eines alternativen Altersmodells für die Datierung der Baikalsedimente ermöglichten. Bei Anwendung des paleomagnetischen Altersmodells beobachtet man, dass die Abkühlung im Baikalgebiet und im Oberflächenwasser des Nordatlantiks wie sie aus den δ18 O-Werten planktonischer Foraminiferen abgeleitet werden kann, zeitgleich ist. Wird das aus benthischen δ18 O-Werten abgeleitete Altermdodell auf den Baikalsee angewandt, ergibt sich eine deutliche Zeitverschiebung. Das benthische Altersmodell repräsentiert die globale Veränderung des Eisvolumens, welche später als die Vänderung der Oberflächenwassertemperatur auftritt. Die Kompilation paleomagnetischer Kurven ergab eine neue relative Paleointensitätskurve “Baikal 200”. Mittels Korngrössenanalyse des Detritus konnten drei Faziestypen mit unterschiedlicher Sedimentationsdynamik unterschieden werden: 1) Glaziale Peroiden werden durch hohe Tongehalte infolge von Windeintrag und durch grobe Sandfraktion mittels Transport durch lokale Winde über das Eis charakterisiert. Dieser Faziestyp deutet auf arides Klima. 2) Während der Glazial/Interglazial-Übergänge steigt die Siltfraktion an. Dies deutet auf erhöhte Feuchtigkeit und damit verbunden erhöhte Sedimentdynamik. Windtransport und in den Schnee der Eisdecke eingetragener Staub sind die vorherrschenden Prozesse, welche den Silt in hemipelagischer Position zur Ablagerung bringen. 3) Während des klimatischen Optimum des Eeemian werden Grösse und Quantität des Silts minimal, was auf eine geschlossene Vegetationsdecke im Hinterland deutet.
Lake Baikal provides an excellent climatic archive for Central Eurasia as global climatic variations are continuously depicted in its sediments. We performed continuous rock magnetic and paleomagnetic analyses on hemipelagic sequences retrieved from 4 underwater highs reaching back 300 ka. The rock magnetic study combined with TEM, XRD, XRF and geochemical analyses evidenced that a magnetite of detrital origin dominates the magnetic signal in glacial sediments whereas interglacial sediments are affected by early diagenesis. HIRM roughly quantifies the hematite and goethite contributions and remains the best proxy for estimating the detrital input in Lake Baikal. Relative paleointensity records of the earth′s magnetic field show a reproducible pattern, which allows for correlation with well-dated reference curves and thus provides an alternative age model for Lake Baikal sediments. Using the paleomagnetic age model we observed that cooling in the Lake Baikal region and cooling of the sea surface water in the North Atlantic, as recorded in planktonic foraminifera δ18 O, are coeval. On the other hand, benthic δ18 O curves record mainly the global ice volume change, which occurs later than the sea surface temperature change. This proves that a dating bias results from an age model based on the correlation of Lake Baikal sedimentary records with benthic δ18 O curves. The compilation of paleomagnetic curves provides a new relative paleointensity curve, “Baikal 200”. With a laser-assisted grain size analysis of the detrital input, three facies types, reflecting different sedimentary dynamics can be distinguished. (1) Glacial periods are characterised by a high clay content mostly due to wind activity and by occurrence of a coarse fraction (sand) transported over the ice by local winds. This fraction gives evidence for aridity in the hinterland. (2) At glacial/interglacial transitions, the quantity of silt increases as the moisture increases, reflecting increased sedimentary dynamics. Wind transport and snow trapping are the dominant process bringing silt to a hemipelagic site (3) During the climatic optimum of the Eemian, the silt size and quantity are minimal due to blanketing of the detrital sources by the vegetal cover.

Cette recherche doctorale repose sur l’analyse des collections archéologiques de la nécropole de Koban, découvertes par Ernest Chantre, actuellement conservées au musée d'archéologie nationale de Saint-Germain en Laye et au musée des Confluences à Lyon. La nécropole de Koban située dans le Nord Caucase fût découverte par Ernest Chantre en 1881. Le site de Koban a donné son nom à l’une des cultures du Bronze récent et du premier âge du Fer du Nord Caucase. Cette thèse porte sur l’ensemble des objets mis au jour à Koban, publiés et non publiés. Par une analyse systématique innovante, cette recherche a permis d’élaborer une classification typologique. Ces données ont été comparées avec du matériel provenant d’autres régions du Caucase. Cetteanalyse des objets a notamment permis de comprendre l’environnement culturel de la nécropole de Koban soulignant ainsi des influences d’autres régions du Caucase – Colchis and Shida Kartli. L’une des composantes majeures de cette recherche est la reconstruction des assemblages funéraires de Koban, qui montrent des aspects inconnus à ce jour. De nouvelles datations radiocarbones réalisées sur la tombe 9 nous ont également permis de réexaminer de façon extensive la chronologie de la nécropole de Koban
This work examines Ernest Chantre’s archaeological collections from the Koban necropolis, stored at the National Archaeological Museum of France, at Saint-Germain-en-Laye and the Confluences Museum in Lyon. The Koban necropolis, which was excavated by Chantre in 1881, is located in the North Caucasus. It has given its name to one of the Late Bronze and Early Iron Age cultures of the Caucasus.This dissertation brings to light Koban objects, both published and unpublished, and organizes themin a systematic fashion. Typological classification of each group of objects is examined andpresented. These data are then compared with materials from other parts of the Caucasus. The focus of the research determines the cultural environment of the Koban necropolis in the Caucasus region, as objects from this site reflect certain characteristic features of different regions of the Caucasus such as Colchis and Shida Kartli.One of the main components of this dissertation is the reconstruction of Koban funeral assemblages.These are presented differently here than has previously been done. Along with presenting the assemblages, radiocarbon data is also presented from grave no. 9, which enables us to re-examine, to an extent, the chronology of Koban necropolis

Ce double objectif se retrouve aujourd'hui dans des espaces protégés qui se veulent,depuis 1970, intégrateurs. Une première étude (2006-2008) au sein d'un Parc Naturel Régional avait révélé l'existence d'une tension entre l'objectif de protection et celui de développement touristique : les touristes y étaient perçus comme une menace, et les gestionnaires se consacraient plus volontiers à la protection. Dans cette thèse, nous avons voulu prolong er la réflexion à partir de trois espaces : le Parc National du Lake District (Royaume-Uni), l'Espace Naturel de Doñana(Espagne) et le Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon (France). Notre enjeu est de vérifier si la même tension entre protection environnementale et développement touristique y est sensible, dans quelle mesure, et pour quelles raisons cette tension se manifeste (ou non) .Après une analyse de contenu mettant en lumière la façon plutôt sévère dont le tourisme est traité dans les discours, l'étude de l'aménagement des espaces, du système d'acteurs en présence et des chiffres du tourisme montrent une rupture totale entre les espaces protégés, leurs gestionnaires et les touristes dont les pratiques ne sont pas comprises ni acceptées. L'étude de facteurs culturels et historiques permettant d'explique rune telle tension révèle la forte influence de l'ancienneté du tourisme dans le lieu, de l'ancrage artistique, de l'histoire politique, religieuse et économique sur la définition de la nature et l'acceptation du tourisme dans chaque espace
During the 19 th century, the first protected areas in the Western world were created and had two missions to fulfil : environmental protection and promoting opportunities for enjoyment in order to welcome tourists. Since 1970 newly created protected areas have followed this double goal. The first 'Parc Naturel Régional' we studied from 2006 to 2008 had such goals but the relationship between the environmental protection goal and the tourism development goal was very tense. Tourists were seen as a threat, and managers had rather focusing on environmental protection. This thesis deals with three protected areas : the Lake District National Park (UK), the 'Espacio Natural de Doñana' (Spain) and the 'Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon' (France). What is at stake is the discovery of whether or not the tension is real between environmental protection and tourism in these areas. We aim at understanding in what way this tension can be felt and the reasons why these areas experience this tension (or not). After a content analysis showing that words used by managers were quite severe about tourists, we study the way the area is spatially ordered ,the relationships between actors, and statistics in tourism, revealing a total breaking off between the protected area, managers and tourists, whose practices are not understood nor accepted. The study of cultural and historical factors that can explain this tension shows a strong influence of the history of tourism,artistic heritage, political and economical history on the way nature is defined and the way tourism is accepted in each area

This thesis explores the embalming ritual of the Egyptian Late Period through Ptolemaic era (664 – 30 BC). Using an interdisciplinary approach, I incorporate primary and secondary texts, Egyptian funerary art and archaeological remains into my study. I utilize these lines of evidence to reconstruct the embalming ritual to the degree possible and analyze the ways in which its various stages were believed to fulfill the ultimate goal of this rite: preservation of the physical body and eternal life for the deceased. I focus particularly on the archaeological material and explore the visibility of religious practice in the archaeological record. I identify key changes and developments in the embalming ritual from the Late Period through the Ptolemaic Period in order to highlight religious significance placed on embalming during this time period. Funerary art, literature, and archaeological material of the Late through Greco-Roman Periods illustrate an increased focus on the integrity of the corpse as well as the manifestation of decay, the liquid \(rDw\). I examine these ancient sources in order to better understand the nature and development of body-centered funerary practices during this period of Egyptian history.

Narrow Tilting Vehicles offer an opportunity to reduce both traffic congestion and carbon emissions by having a small road footprint, low weight, and a small frontal area. Their narrow width requires that they tilt into corners to maintain stability; this may be achieved by means of an automated tilting system. Automated tilt control systems can be classed as Steering Tilt Control (STC) in which active control of the front wheel steer angle is used to maintain stability, Direct Tilt Control (DTC) in which some form of actuator is used to exert a moment between the tilting part(s) of the vehicle and a non-tilting base, or a combination of the two (SDTC). Combined SDTC systems have the potential to offer improved performance as, unlike STC systems, they are effective at low speeds whilst offering superior transient roll stability to DTC systems. However, alterations to the front wheel steer angle made by STC and SDTC systems may result in unwanted deviations from the driver’s intended path. This paper uses multi-body simulations of a three-wheeled Narrow Tilting Vehicle performing an emergency lane change manoeuvre to show that the path followed by a SDTC equipped vehicle in response to a given series of steer inputs differs significantly from that followed by a DTC equipped vehicle. It is also shown that by using a revised series of steer inputs, a vehicle equipped with SDTC is able to successfully follow a similar path to one equipped with DTC, and that the roll stability of the vehicle is not unduly compromised. Finally, the influence of higher DTC system gains on the SDTC system is considered. It is shown that the result is a small improvement in the vehicle’s path following response at the expense of a small reduction in vehicle roll stability.

It is widely acknowledged that a company’s ability to aquire market share, and hence its profitability, is very closely linked to the speed with which it can produce a new design. Indeed, a study by the U.K. Department of Trade and Industry has shown that the critical factor which determines profitability is the timely delivery of the new product. Late entry to market or high production costs dramatically reduce profits whilst an overrun on development cost has little significant effect. This paper describes a method which aims to assist the designer in producing higher performance turbomachinery designs more quickly by accelerating the process by which they are produced. The adopted approach combines an enhanced version of the ‘Signposting’ design process management methodology [1] with industry-standard analysis codes and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). It has been specifically configured to enable process-wide iteration, near instantaneous generation of guidance data for the designer and fully automatic data handling. A successful laboratory experiment based on the design of a large High Pressure Steam Turbine is described and this leads on to current work which incorporates the extension of the proven concept to a full industrial application for the design of Aeroengine Compressors with Rolls-Royce plc.

Abstract Injectors with intelligent well completions are installed in a geologically complex reservoir setting to inject fluid into multiple zones. For effective reservoir management, it is imperative to know the injection profile along the wellbore and to detect injection defects. Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) fiber installed along the length of the well provides high spatial resolution and high frequency temperature data. This paper presents a methodology to estimate zonal-level fluid injection volumes using these DTS measurements. When cold fluid is injected into a hotter reservoir, the region near the wellbore cools down. When injection ceases, the wellbore region slowly warms back to the far field geothermal temperature. The proposed methodology models heat transfer in the radial direction during this warmback period using 1-D energy equations. The model is tuned to DTS data from the warm-back using regression techniques applied independently at each depth. Only the middle time region (MTR) of the warmback is considered for the model since, at early times, we have thermal effects from adiabatic expansion and, at late times, the 1-D modeling assumption is no longer valid. This approach is analogous to the MTR concept often used in pressure transient analysis. Model parameters at each depth are related directly to the volume of fluid injected in the corresponding zone and their relative values can be used to allocate injected fluid volumes. The conventional use of the warm-back model looks at the relative rate that individual zones warm up during a shut-in following cooler water injection to estimate the relative volume of fluid injected into that particular zone. This conventional methodology considers all the data points from warm-back to fit the model. The improved method presented in this paper acknowledges that the early time region (ETR) and late time region (LTR) are not really addressed in the model. Rather it carves out the information by modeling the middle time region (MTR). An alternate approach presented looks at the asymptotic behavior of the middle-time warm-back to infer the cumulative injection volume in each zone. A few test cases are presented comparing the results of the various methodologies and the insights we gain from this analysis. Injection logging is an expensive, conventional method for injection profiling. With the help of fiber technologies and methodologies presented in the paper, we can achieve an accurate understanding of injection profiling without the need for logging. Additionally, we show a methodology where subsequent analysis of warmback at two or more shut-in times gives insight into the injection profile when the original geotherm is disturbed by prior injection or not well known.

Polydiacetylenes are a very promising class of polymers for both photonic and electronic applications1-3 because of their highly conjugated structures. We, recently, have discovered the possibility of depositing a permanent holographic grating of information, made of polydiacetylene on a glass substrate. A novel technique for obtaining high quality thin films of a polydiacetylene derivative of 2-methyl-4-nitroaniline (PDAMNA) using photodeposition from monomer solutions onto UV transparent substrates was discovered by members of our group a few years back4. This compound was one of several asymmetric diacetylenes that were first studied extensively for their optical and electronic properties by Garito and co-workers in the late 1970s; however, their investigations did not include behavior in solutions5,6. PDAMNA films can be obtained readily from solutions of DAMNA in 1,2-dichloroethane by irradiation with UV light through a quartz or glass window, which serves as the substrate. This simple straightforward process yields transparent films with thickness on the order of 1μm7. To obtain PDAMNA thin films, a solution of DAMNA in 1,2-dichloroethane is placed inside a chamber shown in figure 1. DAMNA monomer strong absorption at 366nm. A hand-held 15W UV lamp placed directly in front of the substrate ( approximate radiation intensity of 800 μW/cm2 at 6 in.), a film of approximately 0.6 μm thickness is obtained after 24 hours of exposure.

Résumé: Ateliers d’artistes, appartements et villas de collectionneurs, pavillons, scénographies et musées : l’exposition est un fil rouge de l’œuvre de Le Corbusier. Le rapport que l’homme entretient à l’œuvre d’art et les modalités de ce rapport sont des éléments fondateurs de son architecture et occupent une position primordiale dans sa vision de la ville. De la ziggourat du Musée mondial en 1929, jusqu’aux projets des années 1960 comme le Centre d’Art international à Erlenbach ou le Musée du XXe siècle pour Nanterre, les musées sont des pièces incontournables des ses grands plans d’urbanisme. Les projets de musées et de pavillons d’exposition entre 1929 et 1965 et les concepts des différentes expositions qu’il organise évoluent en parallèle de sa manière d’envisager le rapport à l’œuvre, que ce soit celui de l’artiste, du spectateur initié ou du novice. Les esquisses préparatoires des différents projets de musées et de pavillons retracent cette évolution. La critique du projet du Mundaneum par Karel Teige assume un rôle clé dans la transformation décisive du concept du musée qui a lieu entre le Musée Mondial en 1929 et le projet de Le Corbusier pour le Musée à croissance illimitée en 1930. C’est un changement séminal qui est décisif pour les projets futurs. Art influences his vision of society as a whole, and museums are central to his major urban plans, from the ziggurat of the Musée Mondial in Geneva, to the museums in Ahmadabad, Tokyo or Chandigarh, to projects he realized in the late 1960s, such as the Museum of the 20th Century in Nanterre. The evolution of museum design between 1929 and 1965 and of the concepts Le Corbusier developed for the different exhibitions of his own œuvre are in keeping with his way of understanding the relationship to works of art, whether by the artist, a knowledgeable public or those encountering art for the first time. The sketches for the different museums and pavilions retrace this evolution. Karel Teige’s critique of the Mundaneum project assumes a key role in the transformation of the museum concept that occurred between the Musée Mondial of 1929 and Le Corbusier’s first designs for a Museum with Unlimited Growth in 1930. The architecture and the place for art in society are no longer determined by the use of a form but through a functional mechanism.
