The use of digital technologies in developing the four language skills in English classrooms has not been sufficiently researched. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of digital technology and digital literacy in teaching and learning English. This study aims to firstly investigate the applications of digital technology and the level of digital literacy in learning and teaching English. Secondly, to measure the significant differences between EFL teachers and students in their usage of technology and digital literacies in English classrooms. Two questionnaires were distributed to 150 students and 40 teachers. The data were analyzed descriptively using SPSS 23.0. The findings show that students’ use of digital technology was the highest in learning vocabularies and lowest in reading skills, while teachers’ highest use was for general teaching practices and lowest for reading skills. Participants have high digital literacies. The findings supported the null hypotheses related to the significant difference between usage of digital technology for language pedagogy. These findings offer implications for policymakers towards designing plans to integrate digital technologies in the language classrooms of marginalized societies such as B40 in Malaysia.

PurposeDespite the growing importance of digital innovation conceptualized as innovative digital solutions that enable digital transformation of businesses across industries, empirical study of factors related to digital innovation is still scant, creating a knowledge gap. To fill this gap, this paper aims to examine the effect of digital orientation and digital capability on digital innovation, and also the mediating effect of digital innovation on the link between organizational performance and digital orientation as well as digital capability.Design/methodology/approachThis study tests a new conceptual framework using a survey data of 105 small to medium-sized IT firms in Malaysia and employing structural equation model (SEM) analysis from partial least square (PLS) approach.FindingsThe results show that digital orientation and digital capability have positive effect on digital innovation and also that digital innovation mediates the effect of technology orientation and digital capability on financial and non-financial performance.Practical implicationsThe findings encourage the firms to take the opportunity of emerging digital technologies and digitalization trend in industries by being committed toward embracing new digital technologies and upgrading their digital capabilities to become innovation leaders and also to boost firms’ performance.Originality/valueThis study is one of the first studies that explain how emerging digital technologies can be leveraged to create innovative digital products and services and subsequently boost their business performance. It also fills the literature gaps related to driving factors of digital innovation and mediating role of digital innovation on the link between its driving factors and performance.

A robotic platform is being developed for the use of attachments that perform technological operations of fertilization and irrigation on the basis of the principle of "precision farming". The control system of the robotic irrigation complex is being improved.

Abstract In this survey paper, we describe the state of the field of research on teaching mathematics with technology with an emphasis on the secondary school phase. We synthesize themes, questions, results and perspectives emphasized in the articles that appear in this issue alongside the relevant foundations of these ideas within the key journal articles, handbooks and conference papers. Our aim is to give an overview of the field that provides opportunities for readers to gain deeper insights into theoretical, methodological, practical and societal challenges that concern teaching mathematics with technology in its broadest sense. Although this collection of articles was developed prior to the global coronavirus pandemic, we have taken the opportunity to survey the contributing authors to provide some country perspectives on the impact the pandemic has had on mathematics teaching with technology in the period January–July 2020. We conclude the survey paper by identifying some areas for future research in this increasingly relevant topic.

Despite the fact that activities of authorized persons in during urgent investigative actions are episodic, the absence of responsibility for successful completion of investigation is unacceptable. In this case, law enforcement agencies are fulfilling a single socially important goal, and this should be realized by the relevant officials. Regarding the dynamics of accumulation of information during the investigation of a crime, it should be noted that during urgent investigative actions, an initial array of evidentiary information is formed, which is the result of transformation of initial background knowledge of relevant official regarding what happened under the influence of information obtained by investigative and operational means. The Criminal Procedure Law contains requirements both for the mechanical accumulation of a certain amount of evidence highlighting certain circumstances included in the subject of proof, and for their compliance with strictly established requirements. We are talking about the reliability, sufficiency, relevance and admissibility of evidence, which actually determine the possibility of ultimately using this information in deciding whether a person is guilty or innocent of committing a crime. The required amount of evidence that meets the requirements of reliability and sufficiency ensures the reliability of the evidence base in a criminal case. The evidence obtained should be assessed in the aggregate on the basis of the inner conviction of the person carrying out urgent investigative actions. Their use in the production of further investigation, in the course of court proceedings, depends on how procedurally correct evidence will be collected by the bodies of inquiry during the production of urgent investigative actions.

Today's digital technologies have become essential tools in daily living. The young generation nowadays is very savvy in using digital technologies. It is essential to instill digital citizenship skills in preparing those who are also technology users for a digital society today. However, not all of them have undergone formal training to survive in a challenging environment in a digital world. Thus, this study aims to examine students' attitudes and digital behaviour, particularly in rural schools, including how youth self-evaluate their perceptions of digital technologies, digital competencies, and attitudes towards digital technologies. Data were collected using survey questionnaires, with 210 valid responses. The study results revealed a statistically significant association between attitude toward digital use and digital competence dimensions, including technological, communication, and cognitive. Accessibility dimension in cyber-ethics was also statistically significantly associated with attitudes toward digital use among male students. To summarize, specific concerns and emphasis on youth digital technology usage and education must ensure that they are not left behind and vulnerable to cybercrime while fostering a responsible e-society with excellent digital citizenship characteristics.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the key features of the effective application of digital twin’s technology in aviation technology. In the theoretical part of the article, the authors define the purpose of developing a digital double, which is to provide replacement or significant reduction of expensive full-scale stands and flight tests through the use of precision and certified computational physical and mathematical models. The structural composition of the technologies included in the concept of the digital double is given. The research part analyzes the use of digital twin’s technology within the unique digital environment of a «Virtual high-tech enterprise», combining a unique practice-oriented training of specialists with the possibility of organizing joint work on projects of information technology improvements. The results of the study consider the components of the 3D CAE platform used by specialists to solve many problems in the field of engineering analysis and the creation of digital twins.

В последние десятилетия быстрыми темпами возрастает роль креативных индустрий в мире (показатель - удельный вес креативных индустрий в мировом ВВП). В настоящее время доля креативных индустрий равняется около 3% от мирового ВВП. В статье делается вывод о том, что в большинстве стран мира творческая индустрия признана "спасательным кругом", инструментом развития человеческого капитала и решения городских проблем. Бизнес-идеи творческих людей способствуют росту культурного разнообразия и экономической стабильности. The article deals with creative industries, which are the sphere of economy uniting entrepreneurs and enterprises, whose production is based on creative intellectual property. The role of creative industries in the world has been growing rapidly in recent decades (the share of creative industries in world GDP is an indicator). Currently, the share of creative industries is about 3% of world GDP. The work concludes that most countries in the world have recognized creative industries as a "lifeline" - a tool for the development of human capital and solving urban problems. Business ideas of creative people contribute to the growth of cultural diversity and economic stability.

In this article, it is explored how digital transformation is reshaping existing conceptions of technology adoption in the workplace and, as part of this, why the adoption of enterprise technology often lags behind consumer technology. The effect of business intractability towards technological advancement is examined. Also, the inability to quickly disseminate new information about technological changes puts additional stress on adoption by employees. This article then continues into suggestions to improve adoption of technology based on changes in the workplace in attitude and culture, promoting digital literacy and the establishment of new programs to facilitate them.

Streszczenie:
This article explores alternative teaching methods that promote proportional reasoning in Mexican students aged fourteen to fifteen using digital technology. To this end, a sequence of didactic activities has been designed to give meaning to the concepts of ratio and proportion in their different representations from the approach of linear functions. For the design of the tasks, elements of the theory of Realistic Mathematics Education and the Didactics of Cuevas-Pluvinage were used, coinciding with several didactic points. The proposed learning objectives and activities have been organized through a hypothetical learning trajectory. The analysis and detailed evaluation of the responses allowed us to identify: the didactic advantages of the design, the learning difficulties, and the vital role played by technology in the learning process.
