Streszczenie:
The article examines the contribution of John Maynard Keynes to the study of the psychological motives of economic behavior. The origins of the analysis of the psychological motives in economics before Keynes are reviewed. The relative importance of rational and irrational motives of economic behavior in the Keynesian theory is analyzed. It is shown that Keynes's analysis of the behavior of the economic agents under uncertainty and the lack of information contributed to the elaboration of the bounded rationality theory by Simon. The article also describes the input of Keynes to the formation of a new «Keynesian» model of human behavior, which implies the importance of expectations, taking into account the psychological and social factors of economic behavior. The main psychological tendencies in the actions of the consumers and investors described by Keynes (the basic psychological law, liquidity preference, the influence of the «market psychology» on the investor's decisions) and their relevance nowadays are examined. The article shows further development of the ideas of Keynes in the Akerlof and Shiller's theory of animal spirits and in the financial instability hypothesis of Minsky. It also gives a description of a confidence multiplier, introduced by Akerlof and Shiller, and shows how the cosumers' confidence can be measured nowadays. Besides, the article stresses that the study of the psychological motives of economic behavior, undertaken by Keynes, contributed to the development of such new disciplines at the interface between the economy and psychology as the economic psychology and behavioral economics.

Streszczenie:
The goal of this study is to outline how environmental communication methods helped KFC Medan reduce food waste. This study adopts a descriptive methodology and qualitative research techniques. On the basis of primary and secondary data, data sources are chosen. The key informant chosen for this study was HR KFC in the regions of North Sumatera and Aceh. According to the study's findings, 1) There are supporting and inhibiting factors in the environmental communication process at KFC Medan, but all of them can be properly overcome based on specific mechanisms from the leadership to KFC, and 2) There are communicators, environmental communication messages, environmental communication media, and communicants who play a role in the process. The environmental communication strategy that has been carried out by KFC Medan includes 4 components that play a role, namely communicators, environmental communication messages, environmental communication media, and communicants. In addition, there are several factors in it, namely supporting factors and inhibiting factors during the environmental communication process at KFC Medan. However, everything can be overcome properly based on certain mechanisms from the leadership to the employees at KFC Medan. However, KFC Medan does not mind if the food that has been ordered by cosumers or customers is not finished or still left. Because according to KFC Medan, it is the consumer's right to finish food or not to finish the food that has been ordered by the consumers. Advice for researchers to KFC Medan to also provide education related to food waste to consumers, so that environmental communication related to food waste is not limited to leaders and employees and every consumer can be involved in it. The researcher's suggestion for other researchers who will continue similar research is expected to contribute to conducting research in restaurants and make restaurants or food companies that initially only carry out environmental communication strategies related to food waste limited to leaders and employees, can be applied by restaurants or food companies to consumers as well.

Debate on Indonesia’s sugar polisy was stimulated by the sharp increase in the sugar retail price after the implementation of import regulatory policy regim based on the Trade and Industrial Ministry Decree No. 643/MPP/Kep/9/2002.23 September 2002 revised with the Trade and Industrial Ministry Decree No. 527/MPP/Kep/9/2004/and followed by Ministry of Trade Decree No. 19/M-DAG/PER/4/2006 tanggal 19 April 2006.UsIng the annual data for the period of 1998-2004,this study examines the “reasonable sugar retail price “in Indonesia using two approaches i.e (1) import parity and (2) production cost and distribution ; and based on those reasonable sugar retail prices, this study try to analize the efficiency of the “system tataniaga gula “in Indonesia. The results show that because of the government policy intervension, sugar retail price paid by the sugar cosumer in Indonesia is higher than if no government intervention ( free Trade). It is about 43.07 % and 3.43.% higher based on the first and second approach, respectively, moreover , due to the various, government policies related to tariff and import regulation, cosumer lost for about Rp. 3.8 – Rp 6.2 Trillion a year, but producer get benefit for about Rp.3.2 – Rp 5.2 Trilion ayear. Hence, The dead weight loss due to the”system tataniaga gula “is about Rp. 06- 10 trillion a year.

The production process of the agro-food industry is aimed to ensure consumer’s solvency and satisfaction. As a result, these industries are accelerating their pace and rate of production by resorting to the intensive use of natural resources, especially water and energy. This production rate is accompanied by an increase in the volume of wastewater. According to the normative and legal requirements governing the protection of environment, this wastewater requires characterization in order to guide the choice of their treatment system and recovery. This paper focuses on the physicochemical characteristics of sugar agro-food industry wastewater (Cosumar-Morocco) in order to guide the choice of their appropriate treatment, allowing the reduction of their impacts and nuisances on the marine receiving environment or their reuse. The results obtained, following a follow-up of 4 months (March, April, May and June 2015), revealed that the industrial wastewater of Cosumar is relatively warm and basic with average values of temperature and pH respectively equal to 42, 71 ° C (± 2.61) and 9.38 (± 1.64). These liquid effluents also exhibit a high charge of oxidable matter (average COD=4801.33 mg.l-1 (±2342.66), organic matter (BOD5=3959.01 mg.l-1 ±2293.65), and particulate matter (average solids content = 275, 5mg.l-1±143.25). Moreover, the raw wastewater presents a strong mineralization, which is justified by an Electrical Conductivity of 6828.33 μs.cm-1 (±1704.44) and a Sulphate content of 94.33 mg.l-1 (± 31.66). The average concentrations of Kjeldahl Nitrogen and total Phosphorus are 6.5 mg.l-1 (± 2.54) and 0.67 mg.l-1 (±0.562) respectively. The COD/BOD5 ratio is 1.21, indicating the biodegradability of the wastewater produced, through which the biological treatment can be recommended.

Watersheds of the Cosumnes, American, Bear and Yuba (CABY) Rivers in the Sierra Nevada, California, are managed with a complex network of reservoirs, dams, hydropower plants and water conveyances. While water transfers are based on priorities among competing demands, hydropower generation is licensed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and regulated by federal and state laws and multi-party agreements. This paper presents an integrated river basin management (IRBM) model for the CABY region, built to evaluate management and regional climate change scenarios using the Water Evaluation and Planning (WEAP) system. We simulated potential impacts of climate warming on hydrology and hydropower production by imposing a fixed increase of temperature (+2, 4 and 6°C) over weekly historical (1981–2000) climate, with all other climate variables unchanged. Results demonstrate that climate warming will reduce hydropower generation if operational rules remain unchanged, making the case for climate change induced hydrological change as a foreseeable future condition to be included in the FERC licensing process. IRBM tools such as the CABY model presented here are useful in deliberating the same.

Streszczenie:
Abstract The aim of this research is to understand the role played by social media influencers in consumers’ decision-making processes concerning hotels. To achieve this general objective, the following specific aims were defined: (1) to understand the profile of the micro-influencers that share user generated content (UGC) about hotels and the main networks within which they operate; to this end, a study was made by means of interviews to ascertain the profiles of 16 unpaid micro-influencers who share content about Portuguese hotels, and (2) to adopt the information acceptance model (IACM) put forward by Erkan and Evans (2016), to examine the influence of electronic word of mouth (eWOM) in social media on cosumer's behaviour intention in hotel industry, based on the profile of 166 consumers who follow these micro-influencers. Findings suggest that micro-influencers play a significant role in terms of influencing consumer purchase decision-making in the hospitality area; about 79% of surveyed consumers who follow micro-influencers’ content feel their choice is influenced and consider that the contents shared enable consumers to form an idea of what their stay will be like, due to some of the micro-influencers’ characteristics. The adoption of the IACM model demonstrates that the credibility of eWOM information positively affects the usefulness of the information. However, the quality of eWOM information, needs of eWOM information, and attitudes toward eWOM have a medium effect on the usefulness of eWOM information, but also in the attitudes toward eWOM and usefulness of eWOM in the adoption of eWOM information. The followers’ behavioural intentions are strongly explained by their attitudes toward eWOM information and adoption of eWOM information.

Streszczenie:
Rancho Murieta is an exclusive 1,400 ha (3,500 acre) master-planned golf-course-oriented community and is located approximately 39 km (24 miles) southeast of Sacramento, the capital of California. The community located along the banks of the Cosumnes River, one of the last pristine rivers in California, is situated in the great Central Valley of California which enjoys a Mediterranean-like semi-arid climate. The community has a present population of 3,500 people and is projected to have an ultimate population of 15,600. The Rancho Murieta Community Services District provides wastewater collection treatment and disposal services, among others within the community. In the early 1980s, the District obtained 55 ha (135 acres) of land for a wastewater treatment facility from the original developer of the community. Despite the immediate proximity of the plant to the Cosumnes River, the District was not allowed to discharge any plant effluent to the river. In favor of preserving the pristine qualities of the river, a “zero discharge” was required. Therefore, the District had to provide for some form of reuse of its effluent, a land disposal alternative. After considerable study, a plan was developed to integrate the community's two proposed championship golf courses into a comprehensive wastewater reclamation program. In addition to significantly decreasing the demand for treated domestic water within the community, a comprehensive program to irrigate the golf courses with reclaimed wastewater would also significantly lower the summertime demand for water from the river, thereby providing increased flows to downstream agricultural users along the river, a true “win-win” situation for all parties concerned. In order to provide treatment to an acceptable level for irrigation of golf courses surrounded by dwellings, it was decided that a tertiary treatment plant would be designed to meet California's wastewater reclamation requirements. The current treatment plant was constructed in three phases. California has very strict standards for effluent reuse and they are described in Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations. Use of reclaimed wastewater for most golf courses requires oxidation, coagulation, filtration and disinfection. The effluent has to meet a 2 NTU turbidity and 2.2 MPN/100 coliform standard. To comply with these standards, the District developed a unique treatment process that has allowed the District to be in full compliance since start-up without a single violation of the plant's discharge requirements. The initial treatment process consists of oxidation ponds. Mechanical aerators are located on the ponds to ensure that sufficient oxygen is provided at all times for treatment and most importantly for odor control. The pond effluent is discharged into two large reservoirs. These two reservoirs are sized to store wastewater for up to 150 days during periods of non-irrigation. When irrigation can be performed on the golf course, the tertiary treatment process is activated. It consists of dissolved air flotation for algae removal, filtration for polishing, and disinfection. Treatment design parameters, effluent quality results and capital and operating costs are presented.

Boranan rice is a traditional and typical food from the Lamongan city and can only found in the Lamongan area. Boranan rice, consisting of rice, spices, side dishes, and peanut crips; which is a type of cracker made from rice flour with seasoned and fried. One of special side dish from Boranan Rice is smoked Sili Fish. Sili Fish is a tropical river fish that usually used to ornamental fish and also cosumed by Lamongan people. The purpose of this study was to identify the type of Sili Fish that used as a complement to boranan rice and to describe the history of Sili Fish that used for side dishes of boranan rice. The research was conducted using interviews and direct field observations. The type of Sili fish used in the side dish of boranan rice is Macrognathus aculeatus (Order: Synbranchiformes, Family: Matacembelidae). Sili fish is used as a typical side dish of boran rice because no community has yet processed sili fish as food, so that the Lamongan people, especially those who sell boran rice, take advantage of the presence of sili fish which is found in the Bengawan Solo river by making it a special side dish in boran rice.

Critical groundwater overdraft is one of the greatest water issues of our time. In California, decades of overdraft have resulted in the passage of the 2014 Sustainable Groundwater Management Act, which requires critically overdrafted groundwater basins to create groundwater sustainability plans for future groundwater management. Many managers are using managed aquifer recharge (MAR) in their overall sustainability portfolio, in an attempt to balance groundwater use. Soil maps have been used in the past to determine viability of managed aquifer recharge sites. However, soil maps do not account for the high permeability pathways that exist in the subsurface, which have the potential to provide high efficiency recharge to the water table. This paper emphasizes the utility of creating data dense fine resolution geostatistical models and generating many realizations of the subsurface, which can then be used for analysis to understand the variability in recharge potential for specific recharge sites. These geostatistical realizations were investigated using connectivity metrics to evaluate the spread of highly conductive pathways throughout the subsurface. Connectivity analyses of high conductivity pathways show confidence that the study site- three vineyards located in the floodplain between the Cosumnes River and Deer Creek in Elk Grove, CA - has the potential to provide efficient recharge to the water table. These connectivity analyses can be completed prior to running computationally expensive and time intensive groundwater models and can be used as a way to understand variance between realizations of these geostatistical models.

The development of Industrial Zones in Vietnam will put pressure on water resources at local as well as national scale, due to the large amounts of water consumed and discharged to environment. This study, via water mass balance, provides analyses and assessments on water demand and wastewater generated in each trading groups (industrial sectors) of the Long Thanh Industrial Zone and the Nhon Trach III Industrial Zone phase 2, Dong Nai – the province with the most industrial zones in Vietnam. According to the water mass balance calculation results, the water demand of industrial sectors depends on their manufacturing characteristics. Of which, Textile and Garment are the sectors with the highest demand, as well as highest water loss rate and highest amount of wateswater dischared. Meanwhile, Electronic and Construction Materials cosume the least amount of water. Machinery sector has the lowest amount of water loss. The wastewater/supply water ratio of the Long Thanh Industrial Zone is always 1,1 (for Textile) to 1,5 (for Machinery) times higher than the Nhon Trach III Industrial Zone phase 2, while the wastewater/supply water ratio of the Nhon Trach III Industrial Zone phase 2 is always less than 80%.

Streszczenie:
Abstract Widespread groundwater overdraft in alluvial aquifer systems like the Central Valley (CV) in California, USA, has increased interest in managed aquifer recharge (MAR). Like most clastic sedimentary basins, recharge to the productive semi-confined CV aquifer system remains a challenge due to the presence of nearly ubiquitous, multiple confining units (silt and clay) that limit recharge pathways. Previous studies suggest the presence of interconnected networks of coarse-texture sand and gravel deposits that bypass regional confining units over a small fraction of the CV near the American and Cosumnes rivers. Here, variably saturated infiltration and recharge processes were simulated across a domain that includes high-resolution representation of the heterogeneous alluvial geologic architecture in this area. Results show that recharge potential is highly dependent on subsurface geologic architecture, with a nearly 2 order-of-magnitude range of recharge across the domain. Where interconnected coarse-texture recharge pathways occur, results show that these features can (1) accommodate rapid, high-volume MAR and (2) propagate widespread and rapid pressure responses over multi-kilometer distances in the semi-confined aquifer system. For all MAR simulations, results show that the majority of MAR is accommodated by filling unsaturated-zone (UZ) pore volume. Results also show that coarse-texture UZ facies (where present) accommodate the majority of MAR volume during early time, but fine-texture facies ultimately accommodate the majority of the total MAR volume, even for coarse-dominated sites. These findings highlight the large variability of MAR potential across the landscape and demonstrate the importance of fine-texture facies for accommodating MAR in alluvial aquifer systems.

The minerals in the tailings, subject to the action of water and atmospheric oxygen, can generate Acid Mine Drainage (AMD). The latter is considered the most important environmental issue facing the mining industry. Its environmental impacts include the destruction of the flora and fauna in infected rivers and contamination of groundwater. The abandoned mine site Kettara, located about 32 km northwest of Marrakech (Morocco), chosen as a pilot site for this study, more than 3 million tons of tailings stored at ground level without any concern for their environmental consequences. These solid residues, with high concentrations of heavy metals (As, Pb, Fe, Cu ...), produce leachate very acidic (pH <2.9) may contaminate the water resources of the region. To mitigate the DMA phenomenon in this mining site, different protocols have been proposed using candy sludge (Mud Pulp Sweets: MPS), rich in carbonates from the Moroccan Sugar Company Unit (COSUMAR) and red clays (Clays: CLY) of the city of Safi. Physicochemical characterization and mineralogical of these two materials was performed an provided promising results regarding the effectiveness of the use of alkaline materials in the stabilization of tailings Kettara. Indeed, these starting materials are provided with a net neutralizing power which is of the order of 878.5 kg CaCO3 / t for MPS and 299 kg CaCO3 / t for CLY. The valuation of MPS and CLY, as a main component of an alkaline amendment, is likely to significantly reduce the effects of DMA in this semiarid climate mine.

This paper investigates the topological evolution of the Casablanca Stock Exchange (СSE) from the perspective of the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Cross-correlations between the daily closing prices of the Moroccan most active shares (MADEX) index stocks from March 1, 2016 to February 18, 2022 were used to compute the minimum spanning tree (MST) maps. In addition to the whole sample, the analysis also uses three sub-periods to investigate the topological evolution before, during, and after the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic in Morocco. The findings show that, compared to other periods, the mean correlation coefficient increased remarkably through the crisis period; inversely, the mean distance decreased in the same period. The MST and its related tree length support the evidence of the star-like structure, the shrinkage of the MST in times of market turbulence, and an expansion in the recovery period. Besides, the CSE network was less clustered and homogeneous before and after the crisis than in the crisis period, where the banking sector held a key role. The degree and betweenness centrality analysis showed that Itissalat Al-Maghrib and Auto Hall were the most prominent stocks before the crisis. On the other hand, Attijariwafa Bank, Banque Populaire, and Cosumar were the leading stocks during and after the crisis. Indeed, the results of this study can be used to assist policymakers and investors in incorporating subjective judgment into the portfolio optimization problem during extreme events.

Abstract. In California, it is essential to understand the evolution of water resources in response to a changing climate to sustain its economy and agriculture and to build resilient communities. Although extreme conditions have characterized the historical hydroclimate of California, climate change will likely intensify hydroclimatic extremes by the end of the century (EoC). However, few studies have investigated the impacts of EoC extremes on watershed hydrology. We use cutting-edge global climate and integrated hydrologic models to simulate EoC extremes and their effects on the water-energy balance. We assess the impacts of projected driest, median, and wettest water years under Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 8.5 on the hydrodynamics of the Cosumnes River basin. Substantial changes to annual average temperature (>+2.5 ∘C) and precipitation (>+38 %) will characterize the EoC extreme water years compared to their historical counterparts. A shift in the dominant form of precipitation, mostly in the form of rain, is projected to fall earlier. These changes reduce snowpack by more than 90 %, increase peak surface water and groundwater storages up to 75 % and 23 %, respectively, and drive the timing of peak storage to occur earlier in the year. Because EoC temperatures and soil moisture are high, both potential and actual evapotranspiration (ET) increase. The latter, along with the lack of snowmelt in the warm EoC, causes surface water and groundwater storages to significantly decrease in summer, with groundwater showing the highest rates of decrease. These changes result in more ephemeral EoC streams with more focused flow and increased storage in the mainstem of the river network during the summer.
