Streszczenie:
ABSTRACT Background: Dry eye syndrome is a high incidence multifactorial tear condition. The use of contact lense have been reported that it would have a high risk to get dry eye syndrome for people who often use contact lense. To see the relationship between contact lens use and the severity of dry eye syndrome in class XI SMA N Telanaipura District, Jambi City January-March 2021. Methods: This study is an observational analytic study with a cross sectional approach with a simple random sampling technique. Results: Through the OSDI questionnaire and Schirmer, it was found that the moderate degree had the MOST number. Through the fisher test, the relationship between dry eye syndrome severity and gender based on the OSDI questionnaire p-value = 0.001, contact lens replacement time = 0.016, contact lens use period = 0.019, purpose of wearing contact lenses = 0.158. Based on Schirmer, the correlation between dry eye syndrome severity and gender p-value = 0.054, contact lens replacement time = 0.223, contact lens use period = 0.368, intended contact lens wear = 0.740. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the use of contact lenses with the severity of dry eye syndrome in senior high school students class XI Telanaipura District, Jambi City from January to March 2021 based on the OSDI questionnaire. Keyword: Dry Eye Syndrome, contact lenses, OSDI questionnaire, Schirmer's test. Melalui uji fisherdidapat hubungan derajat keparahan dry eye syndrome dengan jenis kelamin berdasarkan kuisioner OSDI p-value = 0,001, waktu penggantian lensa kontak= 0,016, masa penggunaan lensa kontak = 0,019, tujuan pemakaian lensa kontak = 0,158. Berdasarkan schirmer, didapat hubungan derajat keparahan dry eye syndrome dengan jenis kelamin p-value = 0,054, waktu penggantian lensa kontak = 0,223, masa penggunaan lensa kontak = 0,368, tujuan pemakaian lensa kontak = 0,740. Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara penggunaan lensa kontak dengan derajat keparahan dry eye syndrome siswa kelas XI SMA N Kecamatan Telanaipura, Kota Jambi Januari-Maret 2021 berdasarkan kuisioner OSDI. Streszczenie:
Rapid diagnosis and screening of diseases have become increasingly important in predictive and preventive medicine as they improve patient treatment strategies and reduce cost as well as burden on our healthcare system. In this regard, wearable devices are emerging as effective and reliable point-of-care diagnostics that can allow users to monitor their health at home. These wrist-worn, head-mounted, smart-textile, or smart-patches devices can offer valuable information on the conditions of patients as a non-invasive form of monitoring. However, they are significantly limited in monitoring physiological signals and biomechanics, and, mostly, rely on the physical attributes. Recently, developed wearable devices utilize body fluids, such as sweat, saliva, or skin interstitial fluid, and electrochemical interactions to allow continuous physiological condition and disease monitoring for users. Among them, tear fluid has been widely utilized in the investigation of ocular diseases, diabetes, and even cancers, because of its easy accessibility, lower complexity, and minimal invasiveness. By determining the concentration change of analytes within the tear fluid, it would be possible to identify disease progression and allow patient-oriented therapies. Considering the emerging trend of tear-based biosensing technology, this review article aims to focus on an overview of the tear fluid as a detection medium for certain diseases, such as ocular disorders, diabetes, and cancer. In addition, the rise and application of minimally invasive detection and monitoring via integrated contact lens biosensors will also be addressed, in regards to their practicality and current developmental progress.

The use of contact lenses an alternative to eyeglasses. Lensa tools contacts could be supporting the appeal and appearance of a person to be more stylish and different. In the opinion of one ophthalmologist in dr Soetomo there are 50% of patients with eye disorders contact lens contaminated by amoebas and 1% of patients experienced a severe disorder that causes permanent blindness. The use of contact lenses require secure the right under the guidelines. The aim of research to study the behavior of adolescent users of contact lenses (soft contact lens) in the eye health care in SMK N 3 of Blitar. The study population were students of class XI and the sample studied class XI students who wear contact lenses, using purposive sampling technique. The collection of data by means of a checklist and interview. The results showed as much as 37.1% to behave according to the SOP by 45.7% in the use of contact lenses, but 62.9% showed no behavior according to SOP in the cleaning of contact lenses. This is due to adolescents do not get used to the consultation eye health workers. Recommendations of this study are expected to educational institutions in collaboration with health care providers in improving the UKS program for health promotion in particular about the behavior in the use and cleaning of contact lenses in accordance with the SOP.

Streszczenie:
World is threatened by different variants of Coronavirus to an extent that life has been jeopardized in all services including eye care facility. Contact lenses which are one of the preferred modes of vision correction are not an exception to COVID-19 infection. Recently there is confusion among practitioners and patients regarding the safety of contact lens use during COVID-19. This review article summarizes the current recommendations and findings regarding contact lens use during COVID-19. Though eye health professionals and contact lens users are at risk to contract Coronavirus, with proper care, maintenance and disinfection techniques, it would be safe to continue wearing contact lenses. There is currently no strong evidence to suggest that contact lenses are not safe to wear during COVID 19 times. Eye care practitioners responsible for contact lens application must wear special surgical masks, protective glasses or visors and disposable waterproof gloves. Regarding soft contact lenses, preferably daily disposable lenses should be used from the sterile packages. Similarly for rigid gas permeable lenses, lenses made up of fluoropolymer contained in sealed packages must be motivated for the individuals. Since the infected hands can bring the virus to the eyes, contact lens users should avoid touching the nose, mouth and eye unnecessarily. Contact lens after each use must be disinfected with hydrogen peroxide solutions with a special catalyst container. In the case of eye redness and Flu like symptoms, contact lens trial and wearing practices should be suspended or postpone till the condition becomes normal. To minimize the contact time between the patient and examiner soft copy of the instruction sheet, teleconsultation should be motivated. Though the eye is an unlikely site for Coronavirus infection, eye doctors should warn the contact lens wearers to follow scrupulous contact lens hygiene rules.
