It is of great significance to strengthen college students' practice ability. Practice training will effectively combine theory and practice which will help college students better understand and adapt the society. Practice ability cultivating is also the goal of college talent education. In this paper, it started with the connotation of practice ability and analyzed the current main problems existing in practice ability cultivating in applied colleges. According to the practice of practice ability cultivation in South China Business College, it puts forward several suggestions: Based on the motivation of talent cultivation, it is concluded that the tutors and students should realize the importance of practice ability, applied colleges should work hard at attracting high-level qualified faculty, establish the standard of practice teaching system, and set up a college-enterprise bridge by establishing a college-enterprise cooperation committee.

It is an unavoidable requirement of higher education to thoroughly refine the scientific concept of development and explore the innovative and entrepreneurial education of college students. Wide and effective creative and business literacy training for college students is an important means to reduce the fierce competition for jobs and an effective way to further build an innovative country. The purpose of this paper is to conduct an in-depth study on effective strategies to optimize creative and business literacy training for college students in the context of Internet+. This paper examines how to optimize college students’ creative and business literacy training in the context of Internet+, explains the related concepts and development status of college students’ creative and business literacy training, and discusses the value and practical significance of college students’ creative and business literacy training as well as the current innovation of college students in China. Opportunities, challenges, and problems are encountered in entrepreneurship. Survey experiments were conducted. The results show that more than 83.6% of graduates have some idea about creative and business literacy training, but the satisfaction of college students with the current creative and business literacy training is only 58.2%. Finally, this article suggests five points for optimizing college students.

Private educational institutions in China have a relatively short history of development, and the main force of the faculty is junior faculty. In recent years, Yunnan College of Business Management has developed rapidly, but the problem of junior faculty turnover has become an important factor that limits its long-term development. Based on the case study of Yunnan College of Business Management, this article analyzes the main reasons for the faculty turnover in private colleges and universities, focusing on the needs of junior faculty in terms of further training, salary, social security identity and sense of belonging, and proposes corresponding countermeasures for stabilizing the teaching workforce and promoting the sustainable development of private colleges and universities. It is also suggested for the sustainable development of private colleges and universities.

Over the last three decades, most community colleges have broadened their economic development role to include contracting with employers to train current or prospective employees in job and academic skills. This article describes the main contours of the community college's involvement in contract training, explains how this involvement arose, and analyzes its impact on the community college. This analysis is based both on national data on the general prevalence and form of contract training and on case studies of the forms it takes in twenty community colleges in five states servicing five quite different industries. Contract training is sometimes quite elaborate, as in the case of the entry-level training of skilled workers in auto manufacturing, auto repair, and construction. Here the training often involves multiyear apprenticeships, combining both classroom and on-the-job training, with labor unions exercising a major role. But contract training often is much briefer and dominated by the wishes of companies. The origins of contract training lie in a combination both of business pressure and of initiative by community colleges and government bodies pursuing interests and values of their own. Contract training has broadly affected community colleges in such areas as enrollments, revenues, external relations, governance, internal relations, curriculum and pedagogy, and institutional mission. It has brought more students, revenues, and political clout, but also greater business involvement in community college governance and possibly a major redefinition of institutional mission away from education (especially transfer education) toward training.

Community colleges play an important role in assisting local business and industry by providing a variety of training programs for employees, including short-term programs. These contract training programs often receive public subsidies as an economic development incentive, and despite their popularity, relatively little is known about their structure, frequency of offerings, and challenges that face them. The purpose for conducting the current study was to profile and inventory these community college contract training offices. A survey was administered to a sample of 250 contract training administrators. Findings include a description of who these administrators report to, the experiences that prepared them for their positions, the typical number of programs they offer each year, how they recruit business participation, and the challenges they report facing the most frequently. These findings are important to policy makers, administrators, and scholars as they create a baseline understanding of how these programs are embedded in and represent their colleges.

The fifth generation mobile communication (5G) technology is characterized by its large bandwidth, ultra-high reliability, ultra-low delay and large-scale Internet of things. College Students’ innovation and entrepreneurship education is the main theme of modern higher education and an important way to promote the transformation and development of local colleges. The quality of business plan and roadshows is one of the important means of financing for start-ups. Improving the ability of college students to write high- quality business plans and develop roadshows is not only conducive to the scientific evaluation and assessment of students’ ability, but also helps to stimulate the enthusiasm of college students for innovation and entrepreneurship, and cultivate their ability of innovation and entrepreneurship. Combined with the characteristics of contemporary college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship education, this project analyzes the problems existing in college students’ business plan writing and roadshow at this stage, and puts forward the establishment of an innovation and entrepreneurship ability training system based on the rapid development of business plan and roadshow, so as to promote the improvement of College Students’ innovation and entrepreneurship ability and provide a strong guarantee for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education in Colleges and universities.

In order to test the efficiency of colleges and universities to carry out innovation and entrepreneurship education and cultivate the innovative talent system required by economic and social development and change, this paper proposes to combine the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method based on the analytic hierarchy process. First, gather the students’ ideas, then create a set of measures for each measure, count the weight and significance of each measure, and create a set of criteria for the assessment of the educational process of innovation and entrepreneurship. Census of colleges and universities’ innovation and business measurement model based on student perceptions and determining the weight of each measurement scale will help students understand what is more important in evaluating college and universities’ innovation and business education. Other metrics include innovation and training market, it needs approach, design industry analysis examines business, opportunities for school-to-business engagement, innovation, business education, training, entrepreneurship, and platform information. Therefore, in order to improve the innovation and business education of colleges and universities, it is necessary to carefully establish school management, faculty, classes, activities, innovation, business platform, business education environment, support, advocacy mechanism, and so on. We will improve the teaching of innovation and entrepreneurship and focus on training faculty of innovation and business education and focus on strengthening the innovation and entrepreneurship information platform, innovation, and entrepreneurship incubation base.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to identify the strategies required in improving industrial training programs between local businesses and Technical colleges in Enugu State in Nigeria. Approach/Methodology/Design: Three Research questions and hypotheses guided the study. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study was 125 students from Government Technical College Enugu and Government Technical College in Nsukka, 23 owners of local businesses in Enugu state, 35 teachers from Government Technical College Enugu and Government Technical College in Nsukka and 10 co-coordinators from the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Enugu State. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The reliability co-efficiency of the instrument was found to be 0.83. Data collected were analyzed using mean for the research questions, while the null hypotheses were tested using Independent sample t-test at 0.05 level of significance. Findings: Based on the findings, recommendations were made among which are; Local businesses should liaise with technical colleges to fashion out a suitable industrial training program that will improve students’ experience. More funds should be provided by Government to improve the industrial training program. Practical Implications: The study will contribute positively to the understanding of industrial training program in technical colleges. Originality/value: This study innovates by suggesting strategies to improve the industrial training program between local businesses and technical colleges.

This study reports on the pedagogical challenges of Economics teachers with Postgraduate Certificate (PGCE): Further Education and Training (FET) phase teaching N-level 4 economics in Technical and Vocational Education and Training colleges. The study investigated the pedagogical challenges experienced by economics teachers during the teaching and learning of N-Level 4 economics in one college at Motheo Technical and Vocational Education and Training College. The seven categories of teacher knowledge by Shulman's (1987), underpinned this study. In addition, the pedagogical challenges of Business Studies in secondary schools by Kimotho (2016) serve as a lens to understand the economics teachers’ challenges in a Technical, Vocational Education, and Training college. This qualitative research approach used an exploratory case study research design, and selected two economics teachers purposefully and their students who were observed in two different classrooms and later interviewed individually. The findings revealed that the economics teachers displayed five pedagogical challenges associated with content knowledge (CK), curriculum knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge (PCK), knowledge of students, and the interaction with students. Based on the study’s limitation, there is a need to identify the educational implications on economics teachers’ pedagogical challenges when teaching economics to N-Level 4 students.

The establishment of teaching and scientific literacy training for business administration majors in universities is not only related to the implementation quality and level of teaching for business administration majors in universities, but also has an important impact on the training of applied talents in China. Cultivating high-level and high-quality innovative talents is an important mission shouldered by colleges and universities, and it is also an urgent need of the development of the times. This paper draws lessons from the advanced educational idea of results-oriented education, and discusses how to improve the teaching quality, students’ professional skills and students’ adaptation to the future working environment through OBE (Outcome-Based Education) teaching mode, so as to find out a teaching mode that is more suitable for improving the professional core competence of college business administration students.

The purpose of this study is to examine the overall level of job satisfaction of the academicians who work for business colleges operating in Kuwait and to identify whether demographics affect the level of job satisfaction.During the period between December 2016 and March 2017, a short-form Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) was distributed to 240 academicians working for eight Kuwaiti business colleges including: Arab Open University (AOU), American University of Kuwait (AUK), Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), Australian College of Kuwait (ACK), Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), Box Hill College (BHC), Kuwait University (KU) and the American University in Middle East (AUME). A total of 141questionnaires were returned; resulting in 59% usable response rate.The study showed that academicians in business colleges operating in Kuwait are relatively job satisfied and their characteristics impact the level of their satisfaction. However, the most significant characteristics that affect the level of their job satisfaction were income, nationality and gender.The outcome of this study can be used by policy makers to develop recruitment and promotion policies. This would assist in achieving high levels of job satisfaction and will have positive effect on the academic process and the higher education system at large. This is the first study that used MSQ to explore job satisfaction among academicians who work for eight business colleges in Kuwait. The outcome of the study is expected to help decision makers in enhancing the level of the academicians' job satisfaction.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to conceptualize, validate and confirm a structural equation modeling (SEM) hypothesized model of strategic leadership practices of Malaysian vocational college educational leaders.Design/methodology/approachThe study used a quantitative survey approach. The data were collected from 500 educational leaders of 65 Malaysian vocational colleges throughout Malaysia using a five-point strategic leadership scale. The gender composition of the sample was almost equivalent. The study embarked on descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis and full-fledged SEM for the data analyses.FindingsThe findings revealed that the Malaysian vocational college educational leaders had high tendency and inclination of practicing strategic leadership at their workplace. Besides, there was also evidence that the educational leaders of the Malaysian vocational college exhibited high levels or degree of strategic leadership practices. The responses to the survey items were consistent with seven distinct practices of strategic leadership such as strategic orientation, strategic alignment, strategic intervention, restlessness, absorptive capacity, adaptive capacity and leadership wisdom. The use of SEM procedures had confirmed that the hypothesized model of strategic leadership practices for Malaysian vocational college educational leaders was empirically valid and reliable.Practical implicationsThe findings highlighted the importance of planning and development of a specific-context training program for Malaysian vocational college educational leaders in strategic leadership. The training was considered fundamental in pursuit of effective leadership and positive institutional outcomes for such colleges in Malaysia.Originality/valueThe study had successfully formulated, tested and validated a model of strategic leadership practices for Malaysian vocational college educational leaders. The model was believed to be the first of its kind in the Malaysian vocational education context.

This paper describes the efforts of one College of Business in the Midwestern United States to prepare its faculty to operate in a technologically advanced environment in which both faculty and students use laptop computers in the classroom. This paper details the process the College went through to design and implement the training program and discusses the challenges and accomplishments of the program.

Since 1994 South African further education and training (FET) has undergone significant and fundamental changes. These changes include the transfer of colleges between state departments, curriculum revision, forced mergers and a shift in the student population. As a result of the growing interest in, and funding of, vocationally aligned education, education and training excellence models have permeated into the management portfolio of South Africa's FET. FET colleges (FETCs) have been faced with the emerging excellence discourses in the higher education and business sectors, as well as funding and accreditation linked motivators. How FETC managers have chosen to incorporate, or not to incorporate, centres of excellence (CoEs) into their organizational structures indicates both the difference in the application of CoE models to the sector compared with the higher education and business sectors and the way FETCs are managed in their volatile environment. This paper uses data initially gathered for a funded project aimed at identifying excellence indicators applicable to the FET sector, and a comparative content analysis of related publications and telephone interviews with senior staff responsible for innovation. The authors argue that higher education or business excellence models cannot be applied to the further education and training college environment; models need to be adapted to suit this specific type of environment.

Under the background of the Internet era, the further development of e-commerce and foreign trade economy has been promoted. Simultaneously, higher requirements have been put forward for colleges and universities to carry out the training of e-commerce English talents. To meet the needs of e-commerce English talent training in the construction of the market economy, college English teachers need to carry out English teaching work from the perspective of cross-border e-commerce. This involves improving the English teaching system and enhancing the quality of English teaching from the perspectives of training objectives, curriculum design, practical teaching, and so on. Ultimately, these may effectively enhance the English expression and business communication abilities of Business English majors, thus supplying high-quality English talents for the innovative development of China’s cross-border e-commerce industry. Given this, this article combines existing experience and theory and delves into a thorough exploration, by first analyzing the demand for talent development in English from the perspective of cross-border e-commerce, then dissecting the current issues in the training of business English talents, and finally proposing specific teaching strategies to benefit teachers.

In the context of the combination of industry and education, the construction of industrial colleges in vocational colleges can drive the scientific development of specialty settings in colleges and universities, and promote the way for colleges to expand students’ practical teaching under the teaching of theoretical knowledge, and it is also an effective way for students to stimulate their learning enthusiasm and innovation enthusiasm. Colleges and universities can increase the direction and characteristics of specialist settings in colleges while enhancing instructors’ professional level through school-business collaboration, and growing measures of talent training in colleges and universities plays a significant guiding role. The way to set up industrial colleges in vocational colleges reflects the development characteristics of talent training mode in the new era, and it is also an effective way to meet the practical training of students and the actual needs of society. It is a new school running mode of transforming productivity, cooperation, and mutual benefit, which is very worthy of promotion and development. This paper analyzes the problems existing in the construction of industrial colleges in vocational colleges in China and finds out the corresponding solutions. A path method of industrial college construction in vocational colleges based on the cluster analysis algorithm is proposed. The validity of this model is verified by experiments, which lays a foundation for the construction of industrial colleges in vocational colleges.

Indonesia is one of developing countries that has been severely affected by Covid-19, especially in economics. This causes Businesses in Indonesia to sluggish, especially micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME’s). Audience of this activity is community of young entrepreneurs called Studepreneur. Studepreneur consist of college students who have business in varous sectors, such as culinary, fashion, plant cultivation, fish cultivation, etc. Initially Studepreneurs were entrepreneurship to fill their spare time, but during this pandemic this entrepreneurial activity also supports the cost of living, especially the education fee. Lack of entreperenurial competences is a challenge for Studepreneurs to maintain and improve their business performance during pandemic. The purpose of this service activity is to give knowledge and insight of entrepreneurial competencies to support their business sustainability. The method used in this cativity is training dan interactive discussion. 11 member of Studepreneurs are join this training. Pre test and Post Test are used to evaluate the training. The evaluation results show that 100% audience more understand entrepreneurial competencies after the training.

Sustainable development in the field of entrepreneurship in the business community, students need to be developed so that after graduating students can still run their businesses to develop and sustainably. Indonesian and Malaysian students after graduating from college on average look for work and do not continue their business. This research was conducted to obtain a model of developing entrepreneurship training through a Project Based Learning approach based on contextual business problems, applying a real planned business. make a profit, create jobs, reduce unemployment and poverty in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative research method with a simulation observation research strategy. Observations were made on business groups, where each group consisted of 4-5 students from Duta Bangsa University and Malaysian University students. This research was conducted for 4 months divided into 2 stages. The first stage of the research is to identify and map the fields of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with the prerequisites of entrepreneurial competence possessed by students, this stage is carried out using a qualitative descriptive method. The second stage is to build an entrepreneurship training development model based on a business plan with a Project Based Learning approach. The results of the research are mapping student entrepreneurship and obtaining an entrepreneurship training development model.

Six Sigma is widely proven in practice and research shows high success in its application in various corporate organizations, hospitals, education, factories, airlines and universities. Universities need to contribute in improving the quality of lecturers and students in producing excellent quality performance. Each individual student and lecturer is required to produce excellent quality in serving his work, both on campus, work units and the community. One method used to provide solutions to improve organizational internal process standards that aims to minimize mismatches in work processes and results is the Six Sigma method. This study explores the area of computer apprehension among College of Business Administration students at a Midwestern university. The fear of computer usage has been termed Cyberphobia, Computer Apprehension, Computerphobia, Computer Anxiety, Computer Vertigo and Terminal Anxiety The authors have coined the word: Compustress. A review of the literature revealed that little has been published on this subject A variety of anecdotal data are provided by a number of authors. These brief data are explored. It was noted that business students may experience terminal shock when they are appraised of the widespread use of computers in their field. Data were collected from College of Business Administration majors on level of computer apprehension, number of hours of computer usage and number of hours of computer training. Results indicate that the higher the number of hours of computer usage and training, the lower the compute apprehension.

In Chinese colleges, teachers’ teaching level and proficiency in business knowledge are an important part of maintaining the knowledge system of colleges and universities. Therefore, in order to improve the teaching level of Chinese colleges and improve the knowledge reserve of college students, we should spare no effort to develop and improve the professional level of each teacher. The research on teacher training mode based on the development of teachers’ teaching ability is of great significance to the development of colleges and the improvement of teaching quality. The new generation of artificial intelligence plays a pivotal role in the training of college teachers. This paper randomly selects 897 undergraduate teachers from 10 private colleges in a certain region of China who participate in higher teacher training for research. It mainly studies the application effect of several typical artificial intelligence technologies in evaluating higher teacher education and training. Specifically, the paper uses artificial intelligence as a carrier to predict the performance indicators of the three main modules involved in higher teacher education and training. The prediction results of several artificial intelligence techniques show that the support vector machine method based on immune algorithm optimization corresponds to the largest coefficient of determination and the smallest root mean square error. Therefore, it predicts the best. Furthermore, the comparison results between the predicted data and the measured data show that the artificial intelligence technology has a better prediction effect on the three module indicators. At the same time, there is a good exponential function relationship between the prediction data corresponding to the two main modules of organization and personnel.

The target of the training participants as previously planned was 30 students and students around the township in relation in one way or another, then the students who participated in this training numbered 27 students. The figures show that this training/ socialization activity can be said that the target participants reached 90% can be said to be successful/successful.

PM College as one the reputable vocational college provides educational services for students and training services for industry employees. PM College has a focus to provide customer satisfaction. PM College’s customers consist of industries mainly from manufacturing businesses. To guarantee the educational process, PM College has been applying the quality management system based on ISO 9001:2008. The current challenge of the PM College is to apply the latest ISO 9001: 2015 which is a revision of the previous version standard. ISO 9001: 2015 has some changes made as a form of adjustment. The institution feels the need to make improvements to the current quality management system to provide the satisfaction to customers, both from the industry and university students and to compete with the other polytechnic as well. This paper proposes an approach to prepare and analyze the organization in fulfilling the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. Several data processing and analysis were conducted to identify clauses’ fulfillment between activity and document of the organization in meeting the ISO 9001:2015. The results of data processing and analysis show that PM College needs to make improvements in business processes and has not met ten clause requirements of ISO 9001:2015. Several adjustments were proposed to the business process and ten clauses to assist PM College in preparing the ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) theory emphasizes the mutually integrated and symbiotic relations between language and disciplinary knowledge. Based on this perspective, this study analyses the “Double Focus” teaching mode implementation that combined business knowledge with English language skills. This is implemented in a Business English course at higher vocational college to enable talent cultivation focus to shift to the internalization of business knowledge while continuing to improve English proficiency. The “Double Focus” teaching strategy adapted authentic business tasks simulation and practice from actual Foreign Reception Training Course like airport pick-up task via a plan, do, check, action (PDCA) approach. This study found that the integrative element promoted better association between language and business knowledge, raise awareness of using English in situational contexts and foster effective internalization of content knowledge among students. The problem of “deficient critical thinking ability” in foreign language majors has long plagued professionals in college foreign language teaching. Skill-based language courses that constitute the majority of the English curriculum are the root. However, Business English major can effectively overcome the problem because of its advantages in integrating language-skill training into business-knowledge learning. Teachers of Business English skill courses should convert teaching philosophy and methods, and transform the skill-based courses into knowledge- and critical-thinking-oriented training courses. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to survey the status of information security awareness among college students in order to develop effective information security awareness training (ISAT). Design/methodology/approach – Based on a review of the literature and theoretical standpoints as well as the National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-50 report, the author developed a questionnaire to investigate the attitudes toward information security awareness of undergraduate and graduate students in a business college at a mid-sized university in New England. Based on that survey and the previous literature, suggestions for more effective ISAT are provided. Findings – College students understand the importance and the need for ISAT but many of them do not participate in it. However, security topics that are not commonly covered by any installed (or built-in) programs or web sites have a significant relationship with information security awareness. It seems that students learned security concepts piecemeal from variety of sources. Practical implications – Universities can assess their ISAT for students based on the findings of this study. Originality/value – If any universities want to improve their current ISAT, or establish it, the findings of this study offer some guidelines.

In this study, we examine whether there is a significant difference in small business owner characteristics in business-friendly states in the U.S. versus in less friendly states. In the survey that we employ, business-friendliness has four components. These are the ease of hire, ease of start, training/networking programs, and regulations. The owner characteristics including “position in the firm”, “previous entrepreneurial experience”, “gender”, “age”, “political view”, “education level”, and “race” are also included in the survey. Our results for “overall business friendliness” show that, in business-friendly states, there are more female owners and experienced owners when compared to the other states. In these states, there are more conservatives but fewer liberals and independents. Also, in these states, we are seeing more technical college and high school graduates and fewer community college graduates and master’s graduates. Finally, in these states, we see fewer Asian or Hispanic owners when compared to the other states.

The article is devoted to the consideration of the issue of studying under the Entrepreneurship program in Russian colleges, the issues of the specifics of teaching this profession, the need to master unique professional competencies are raised. The article analyzes the current state of secondary vocational education and the ways of its development in the field of entrepreneurship, describes the problems of entrepreneurship education in colleges in Russia, identifies ways to overcome crisis situations in the development of secondary vocational education on the example of the Synergy University for entrepreneurship training programs. The article takes into account the experience of the federal innovation platform operating on the basis of the Synergy University, which implements a project called “Model of the innovative system of continuous entrepreneurial education in higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation”. Entrepreneurship education in college is associated with a number of features: entrepreneurship is a professional activity with its inherent labor functions; to engage in entrepreneurship, it is necessary to register on a voluntary basis; professional interests often include personal, family, consumer and other interests; entrepreneurial activity is associated with risk and uncertainty; in the process of learning entrepreneurship, it is often necessary to be guided by rational motives and logic; students of entrepreneurship must have professional aptitude to do their business. These features should be taken into account in the forms of entrepreneurship education in college, therefore, classical forms of education are not very mundane when teaching entrepreneurship. The article analyzes the existing forms of education and suggests ways to improve entrepreneurship education, namely, the inclusion of more practical disciplines in the curricula, attracting practical teachers in the field of entrepreneurship for training; also increasing the motivation of the teaching staff, including by increasing wages and introducing intangible incentives; conducting practical classes and practices on entrepreneurship in business incubators and business centers. All this should improve the quality of entrepreneurship education in college.

This paper proposes that business CAT be introduced as the reform of a course in Chinese universities. Firstly, the authors describe the conceptual framework and design of business CAT course and textbook, the newly developed “Computer-Aided Business Translation Teaching System (Business CAT), with a focus on learner translation training and teacher management platforms. Secondly, the authors discuss the constructed “Business English-Chinese Parallel Corpus” that supports the system. Finally, the authors show that business CAT contributes positively to the improvement of college students’ CAT competence and development of CAT education in China.

The article describes the organization of preparing college students of specialties 09.02.03 “Programming in computer systems” and 09.02.07 “Information systems and programming” for the demonstration exam on the WorldSkills competence R71 “IT software solutions for business on the 1C:Enterprise 8 platform”. The results of the demonstration examination on the competence R71, held in 2018, are presented. An analytical assessment of the number of colleges in the Russian Federation, which are expected to be included in the demonstration exam in future two to five years, is given. Some of the tasks that colleges have to solve as part of preparing students for the demonstration exam on the competence of R71 are considered, and solutions to these problems are proposed. The curriculum is considered as one of the main documents of the planning of the educational process and its significance in the training of future specialists of information technology specialties is analyzed.

Purpose – The purpose of this research is to explore the effect of internship experience on final-year pre-service teachers (PSTs) studying for a Bachelor of Education in Abu Dhabi. The UAE is undergoing a period of rapid education reform with a strong emphasis on use of student-centered learning strategies in the classroom. Teacher-training colleges, such as the one in which this research took place, have had to customize their programs to prepare and train teachers who can effectively implement this new approach. Design/methodology/approach – Semi-structured interviews were conducted with ten PSTs to explore the usefulness of the college science courses during their internship experience, and the challenges they faced during their internship. We also looked at how these experiences have influenced their confidence levels and the type of science teachers they want to be in the future. Findings – Results have shown that PSTs have variable opinions on the usefulness of the college courses. A perceived lack of emphasis placed by mentor teachers upon science may have long-term effects on the PSTs’ eventual use of teaching strategies. It was also shown that some of the PSTs still lacked confidence in science teaching. Practical implications – This research may provide national guidelines for teacher-training colleges in the UAE or in countries undergoing educational reform and moving towards student-centered approaches to learning. Originality/value – Research studies on the effect of internship on PSTs have been conducted in different countries but such studies have great novelty in the UAE.

Digital learning has become one of the constituent elements of higher education in many countries. E-learning platforms provides remarkable opportunities to creatively overcome many problems of traditional learning approaches. Nevertheless, E-learning is not flawless, where there are many educational and technical difficulties of implementing online learning in higher education, especially when higher education stands on applied learning. The current study aims to explore undergraduates’ attitudes towards E-learning in applied colleges. It also seeks to expose the most central educational and technical challenges of e-learning. Moreover, it drives to define the educational and technical requirements for ensuring quality e-learning. the research sample consisted of 1650 undergraduates and 37 interviewees who are drawn from five applied colleges in Kuwait (the College of Basic Education, the College of Technological Studies, the College of Business Studies, the College of Health Science, and the College of Nursing). The research design is based on mixed methods (questionnaire and focus groups). The findings revealed that students held neutral attitudes towards e-learning, while the educational and technical challenges are high concerns. Educational challenges and requirements highlighted several themes including instructional support, progress valuation, self-study skills, attention span, interactivity, and class size. Meanwhile, the technical challenges include poor internet connectivity, IT support, LMS interface, training courses. Then, the findings are discussed to draw recommendations and implications.

The article presents the results of a study of the effects of using innovative technology for teaching students in a professional college-based team. The possibilities of integrating vocational training in college and the resource of employers in the field of creative industries are revealed. Universal effects have been identified, such as the increased involvement of students in social projects and their willingness to participate in the economic development of the region, aimed at meeting the staffing needs of the labor market. The duality of these effects is shown: training graduates of vocational schools who are able to work in a team, organize their business and manage it at all stages of the business, and on the other hand, providing employers (investors) request with personnel who possess a number of competencies and are ready to take a place in any position in the world of work.

Training is an important source of development of work force in an organization whether its business, educational or sports related organization. The current research activity is an effort to study the impact of trainings on job performance of teachers in public sector colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The study is purely quantitative in nature and conducted in Malakand Division, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Probability sampling technique has been adopted for sampling specifically stratified random sampling while a structured questioner based on Likert five category scales has been utilized to collect information from the selected samples. Besides, the data has been analysed in tabular form including frequency and percentage against each category of opinion. In addition, chi-square test has applied to in order to check association among variables. The process of data analysis has done through computer-based software (SPSS). Findings of the study reveal that training significantly affects performance of teachers at college level. In this regard, numerous indicators have been discussed and analysed and the results indicate that trainings play a positive role in learning and enhancing their capacity to perform job and reduce job related stress and anxiety.
