The Greek civilization is considered one of the most important and oldest civilizations of the ancient world because of the human, intellectual and cultural data it provided that contributed to the advancement of ancient societies and civilizations, especially those that later came under the control of the Greeks in Asia Minor, Egypt, Mesopotamia and others. Greek architecture enjoyed a uniqueness and identity that is unparalleled, as the ancient Greeks made their capital (Athens) a radiant center of thought, philosophy and culture to suit those human values until that architecture became a special feature of the beauty of construction and formation and what it possesses of sculptural supplements, murals and others The current research dealt with those bright stations of Greek architecture and on three scientific topics. The first topic included the study of civilization and architecture, and the city and civilization arose that distinguished the Greeks from others. Studying the architecture of the Greek temples in the early periods, including the Temple of (Apollo), the Temple of (Parthenon) and others. As for the civil architecture, the researcher classified it into the architecture of palaces, including the study of the well-known (Knossos) palace, the architecture of houses, and theaters. As for the third topic, the researcher dealt with the study of Greek architecture and the civilizations of the ancient world, especially after the conquest of Alexander the Great to many vast areas within the Nile Valley and the Mesopotamian Valley up to Persia. Abstract“Civilization” is surely among those concepts that are the most widely used in world political discourse but taken least seriously by contemporary social science. We argue for jettisoning this concept’s Huntingtonian baggage, which has led scholarship into a dead end, and developing a new body of theory on a different foundation, one grounded strongly in recent nonprimordial theories of identity and micro-level research into how ordinary people actually understand the civilizational appeals made by their elites. In what we believe to be the first systematic survey-based study of individual-level civilizational identification, we establish proof-of-concept by asking a question: What influences individuals’ primary identification of their own country with particular civilizational alternatives offered up by their elites? Pooling survey data gathered in Russia from 2013–2014, we confirm that civilizational identity reflects the influence of situational considerations and social construction processes. Whether individuals see Russia as part of purported “European,” “Eurasian,” or “Asian” civilizations depends heavily on gendered and nongendered socialization during the USSR period and factors as contingent as perceived economic performance. Results also confirm our expectation that Huntingtonian concepts fit poorly with real-world patterns of civilizational identification.

The article uses case studies of Joseph Beuys to show that the ethical perfectiorism developed by Karol Wojtyła is an adequate response to anti-civilizational actions, and that Beuys' actions as a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf were precisely anti-civilizational in nature. In addition, the influence of the concept of “marching through institutions” was pointed out, which strongly influences civilizational struggles in societies – especially democratic ones. On this basis, it was shown that perfectiorism is one of the key concepts that can play a key role in civilization struggles on the ground of institutions.

AbstractThis article examines the interrelationship and interactions between the notions of Son of Heaven and Son of God with respect to sacral kingship in Inner and East Asia by first uncovering a previously unnoticed synthesis of the two in ancient Inner Asia. The author argues that the Chinese belief of “heaven” and related political and religious concepts may share a common origin with parallel notions in Altaic cultures, possibly intertwined with Indo-European elements. Nevertheless, by studying theophoric names, which existed in all major Old World civilizations except early China, he demonstrates the distinctness of Chinese civilization, as well as the extensive pre-Islamic Iranic influences in East Asia.

Streszczenie:
The article considers the Russian civilization as a socio-cultural community that includes different civilizational formations, the fact that determines its heterogeneous nature. An indicator of the heterogeneity of a society is its social structure, with civilisational rifts present - such an opposition of individual structural elements that has a civilizational character. In modern Russia, three civilizational rifts can be recorded. The first of them is based on the existence in the country of different levels of technical and technological development and, accordingly, of the nature and content of laborur of the population. The second rift is due to the material differentiation of the society: from the standard of living (on the threshold and beyond the poverty threshold) to the possession of multibillion fortunes, that leads to a deep difference in the quality of life of the population, that is an attributive feature of various civilizations. The third rift is related to the historically uneven development of the regions. Along with the regions that have entered or are already at the informational stage of development (they are in minority), most of the regions are at the industrial stage, and in some regions, a pre-industrial agrarian society with stable traditional values still prevails. Accordingly, informational, industrial and traditional subcivilizations coexist in the vastness of Russia. Property relations are considered among the significant factors of civilizational development. Property relations are first of all economic and juridical (legal) relations. Property as a social relation carries the historically stipulated content of the moral norms, justice, individual and social benefit. Property is embodied not only in legal forms, but also in customs, cultural patterns, habits, types of thinking and behavioral models. In Russia, the property right of an individual has always been oriented towards "internal justice", correlated in the public and individual consciousness with the prevailing ideas of the proper. Whereas in Western civilization there has been entrenched the priority of public relations based on the protected by law private interest of an individual. The reorientation of property relations in Russia to the Western model, including in the memory of our contemporaries, has not been a success due to the traditionally strong etacratic influences, the dominance of the “power-property” relationship.

Environmental determinism is often used to explain past social collapses and to predict the future of modern human societies. We assess the availability of natural resources and the resulting carrying capacity (a basic concept of environmental determinism) through a toy model based on Hurst–Kolmogorov dynamics. We also highlight the role of social cohesion, and we evaluate it from an entropic viewpoint. Furthermore, we make the case that, when it comes to the demise of civilizations, while environmental influences may be in the mix, social dynamics is the main driver behind their decline and eventual collapse. We examine several prehistorical and historical cases of civilization collapse, the most characteristic being that of the Minoan civilization, whose disappearance c. 1100 BC has fostered several causative hypotheses. In general, we note that these hypotheses are based on catastrophic environmental causes, which nevertheless occurred a few hundred years before the collapse of Minoans. Specifically, around 1500 BC, Minoans managed to overpass many environmental adversities. As we have not found justified reasons based on the environmental determinism for when the collapse occurred (around 1100 BC), we hypothesize a possible transformation of the Minoans’ social structure as the cause of the collapse.

Colonialism has impacted on Islamic Law as well as Islamic civilization. Islam has a dissonant relationship with modernity in that it agrees with central aspects of this epochal phenomenon and parts ways with others. The compatibility issues were raised by the Muslim thinkers. Many Muslim scholars have contributed to give an original understanding of message of Islam detached from sectarian influences. Traditions are considered to be the vehicle for the transference of factors to modernity with a strong role in determining power and culture of a civilization. Thus, they pave the way for the power tools of a civilization. The theories of Muslim scholars from Asia and Egypt are discussed to elaborate the Muslim understanding of facing the challenges of modernity. The contemporary scholars’ views are also added with an analysis of their observation on compatibility of Islam with modern era challenges and the criticism on it due to their modernity conception.

The author of the article notes the obvious contradiction of our time, which consists in the fact that the rapid development of technology is combined with an increase in political tension, escalation of violence, and an eschatological feeling of extreme depletion of environmental and civilizational resources. This testifies to the crisis state of civilization, which can be more accurately described as a crisis of man himself. Based on the principle of the interdependence of anthropology and culture, the author proposes to include in the orbit of theological understanding not only the social and humanitarian sphere of civilization life, but also natural science, as well as the technosphere. The article proposes a variant of the classification of traditions and methods of broadcasting their content, which makes it possible to look at science as part of a cultural tradition that builds relationships with a spiritual tradition as a core one. But, first of all, the structuring of traditions in society makes it possible to clearly see their hierarchy and mutual influences. Especially valuable is the isolation of the spiritual tradition and the separation of the religious from it. This provides a key to understanding many processes in the history of civilization - in the sphere of religious life, in culture, in socio-political processes. Traditions such as religious, cultural and social build their own relationships with spiritual tradition. The forms of these relations create a multidimensional characteristic of the state of society in a given historical period.

Music plays an important role in social integration, often providing the vehicle for how one culture reinterprets itself in another. However, as in the case of the Ionian Islands, a peoples’ ability to incorporate outside influences and produce local culture may find itself at odds with the more nationalistic purposes of the state. The Ionian Islands came to be part of the Greek state without enduring the yoke of occupation by the Ottoman Empire or suffering in the wars that preceded the Greek free state. Therefore, the Ionian culture, in particular its popular music, has been made obscure by political elites who defined Greece as the benevolent opposite of its enemies, as the center of civilization and therefore without cultural influences – a definition that Ionian music, influenced by Italian settlers, did not meet.

This study examined the interaction of religion and politics in Bangladesh in light of the hypothesis that the nature of the particular process of Islamization of the state of Bangladesh, leading to its present semi-Islamic status, has been a function of three independent variables: the specific nature of Islam in the society; the configuration of political interests; and the international environment. The study found that the semi-Islamic status of the state in Bangladesh achieved under military rule is a consequence more of the manipulation of Islam by the military for the sake of legitimacy and of the influence of the Middle East, particularly the flow of remittances, rather than changes in the value orientation of the people of Bangladesh.

This thesis engages with Taiwanese history by offering a reading of Hou Hsiaohsien???s A City of Sadness (1989), making reference to the film???s historical dimensions, cultural representations and gender issues in the period 1945 to 1949. In addition, Hou???s cinematography is detailed with comparison to Yasujiro Ozu and the influences of Japanese colonisation. Hou???s immense contribution to Taiwanese film consists principally in a Taiwanese trilogy that traces Taiwan???s history in the 20th century. In The Puppet Master (1993) Hou details the era of Japanese colonisation from 1895 to the restoration of Taiwan by the Kuomintang in 1945. Later, A City of Sadness focuses on the fate of the Lin family from 1945 to 1949, which epitomises people???s life in Taiwan during the initial stages of Kuomintang domination. Finally, Good Men, Good Women (1995) highlights two different eras in Taiwan: the political movement in the 1950s and the pop culture in the 1990s. The thesis uses illustrations from all three films to explore Hou???s historical, cultural and gender representations. In order to understand Hou???s ideology and beliefs in greater depth, I also review his autobiographical film, A Time to Live, and A Time to Die (1985). This thesis examines Taiwan???s indigenous culture and the impact of Japanese and Chinese cultural practices in A City of Sadness through the post-colonial theories of Perry Anderson, Homi Bhabha, and Chris Berry. I draw on their theories of cultural hegemony and my empiricism to investigate Hou???s representation of the political situation in Taiwan. Finally, the thesis evaluates gender issues in A City of Sadness, with reference to Julia Kristeva???s notion of ???feminine time??? and the debate between Emilie Yeh and Mizou concerning ???whether women can really enter history???. In evaluating A City of Sadness I argue that Hou Hsiao-hsien???s use of a family???s microhistory to parallel the national macro-history of the February 28th Incident opens an important historical window through which the audience may re-encounter and reflect on Taiwan???s past, and think positively about its future.

The legend of Shambhala incorporated in the Tibetan Canon, has been one of the favourite motives of Tibetan Buddhism throughout the centuries. High lamas and laity alike venerated the legend connecting their innermost aspirations with it. For some it represents a mystical millennial country revealing itself only to the chosen ones, while others perceive it as a symbol of the hidden treasures of the mind. This way or the other, the legend of Shambhala remains a living belief for many. The present hardships of Tibet made the legend with its leitmotif of future victory of Buddhism, especially viable.
When the legend reached the West in the beginning of this century, it inspired many westerners including political leaders, and acquired diverse and innovative interpretations.
Conveying the ever cherished human dream of a better world beyond ours, the legend of Shambhala proved to be a ubiquitous symbol surpassing its original Buddhist framework.

The field of rhetoric has recently begun to position the Sophists as an integral part of the history of the discipline. Sophistic influence has been acknowledged in other fields as well, particularly philosophy and literary theory; however, Sophistic influence on political theory has been virtually ignored. This thesis examines the epistemology of the Sophists within the context of the debates of ancient Greece, and illustrates the connections between Sophistic thought and the ideology behind the structuring of the American federal government. Specific connections are made between the epistemology of the Sophists and that expressed in The Federalist, as well as that of earlier political theorists Thomas Hobbes and John Locke.

The Tang dynasty (618-907) is often referred to as a golden age of Buddhism in China. This research, concentrated on the first half of the dynasty (618-755), shows that Buddhism's impact on Tang aristocratic society has been overestimated. Looking at models of the familial and social order that one can extract from the Tang Code as well as from some literary works of the period, the picture emerging is that Tang society was a highly stratified one, and based on Confucian values. Buddhism, in order to establish and maintain itself in China, had to compromise with those values. However, its efforts to conciliate its doctrine with some Confucian precepts did not suffice to prevent its decline. Ultimately, Confucian values were reaffirmed as the sole basis of Chinese society, and remained so until the end of the Qing dynasty, in 1911.

The present thesis, entitled "Indian Muslim Perceptions of the West during the Eighteenth century", deals with Muslim images of the West at the turn of the eighteenth century as they were formulated in the minds of Indian Muslim intellectuals. It examines the modalities of experience and categories of knowledge of the West as they were perceived by Muslim scholars who had come into contact with the contemporary West. The main purpose of the present enquiry is to analyze the origins and the nature of such perceptions as were articulated in their writings. With the expansion of British political power in the sub-continent in the late eighteenth century Britain came to be identified with Europe as a whole in the minds of our intellectuals. The Indian intelligentsia's experience of the contemporary Western civilization became in fact its experience of the British society and culture. Extensive quotations from the writings of the authors under consideration are often used to illustrate the principal arguments in this essay. The thesis is based on relatively unexplored source-material which comprises Persian manuscripts in the Bodleian Library in Oxford and the British Library in London. Our writers' perceptions of the Western civilization concentrate on various aspects of European and, particularly, British culture such as social life, religion, political ideas and institutions and scientific and technological developments. The present study also attempts to assess the impact of an alien culture on various socio-economic levels in Indian society, especially since Muslims had largely lost a centralised political control over India. The declining Muslim intelligentsia accepted uncritically the impact of the new and powerful culture but the new knowledge presented in their writings was not significantly implemented in their society; rather, the indigenous society was overwhelmed by the new culture that was imposed upon it and gave in to it and its attraction.

AbstractThe design of the hotel’s interiors can help guests enhance their experience. Hotel interior design also directly affects the profitability and success of hotels in the hospitality industry. Therefore, it is considered important to maintain a high level of interior design of hotels in order to provide a destination of choice that satisfies guests and offers them unique amenities and experiences, while at the same time ensuring economic efficiency for the owners. The aim of this research is to develop a comprehensive pre-approach to tourists’ preferences for hotel furniture in Greece. The research was conducted by using convenience sampling of 340 tourists of hotel accommodation in various tourist areas in Greece. The results showed that, respondents’ satisfaction is influenced both by the hotel's decoration and the configuration of the rooms, while the existence of new technologies plays an important role for them, which positively influences their choice. There is a strong tendency to prefer wood as the main material of furniture construction, while most tourists claim that they wish to have elements of Greek culture and civilization in the furniture of Greek hotels. The research is expected to contribute further to the existing literature on this topic. Furthermore, the results can be particularly useful to hotel owners who wish to incorporate green practices in their hotels, or to use eco-friendly and smart furniture in their hotel equipment.

Streszczenie:
The article, from the standpoint of the «memetic» and «network» paradigms, examines the factors, mechanisms and socio-ecological consequences of information and communication influences. The phenomenon and mechanisms of information infection, the role of meme-viral influences in the processes of socio-cultural evolution are analyzed. The prospects for the development of effective research and socio-performative methods and technologies based on the joint use of the principle of viral information and communication influences and the «network» approach are studied. The ways of determining the intensity of «information infection» of the social space and the degree of «cognitive damage» of the population are discussed. It is shown that important socio-ecological problems of an information civilization are: the problem of uncontrollable side effects of information and communication influences and a tendency to the loss of human-centeredness (dehumanization) of network forms of social organization and control over them by a person.

The issue of improving people's livelihoods has been a primary concern of democratic governments. People's livelihoods can be analyzed not only from the perspective of income obtained, but also from the perspective of the conditions it has, access to quality services. Although material conditions dictate the ability of people to turn resources into good living conditions and are those that allow us to estimate a person's ability to have a better standard of living, yet only with his own efforts, he could not create a living. decent. In order to develop harmoniously, people still need to benefit from the goods and achievements of civilization, those that governments make available to them: access to quality health services, education and training, technical and scientific progress, services in the field of service, etc., without which the free development of the human personality would not be achieved. In this context, the subject in question is current and of major importance. The purpose of the paper is to analyze the contribution that public services have to raising the living standards of citizens. As research methods in the paper were used: analytical method; synthesis method; comparative method, method of document analysis and statistical data, etc.

The article addresses the issues of stress manifestation in the framework of carrying out professional duties of district police officers. An analysis of scientific work on the formation, manifestation and neutralisation of stress has been carried out. Particular attention was paid to the theoretical analysis of symptoms of stresses influencing the execution of professional tasks. The main stress agents most strongly influencing the activity of police officers, and most usually contributing to stress manifestation, have been listed. The article draws on various theoretical approaches, concepts and principles, reflecting the methodological basis of the work. The psychological specificity of stress and its dependence on both external influences and the personal assessment of the situation and activity as a whole have been studied. A key aspect of the work is the research carried out to identify the causes of stress in employees and possible preventive measures to neutralise them. Occupational stress has been shown to be directly related to the activity itself. It was noted that the intensity of the developing adaptation response in humans depends on the personal significance of the influencing factor rather than on the stress agent itself. Such an individual attribute as stress resistance was addressed; this personal trait determines the level of efficiency of overcoming a stressful situation, which can be considered as a multicomponent phenomenon enabling the avoidance of negative consequences for both the psychological and physical health of district police officers.

With the development of the worldwide Internet, the security of private data in the online space has become an increasing concern. On the one hand, users post a lot of information about themselves; on the other hand, they are very concerned about the safety of this information. Thereby a privacy paradox emerges: the difference between attitudes to information privacy and actual user behaviour. This article examines different approaches to the interpretation of this phenomenon. The authors of the article identify the motives for using social media. A study was conducted to define the relation between these motives and the attitude of young people with regards to confidentiality, which directly influences the confidentiality paradox occurrence. The survey method and a statistical method for studying relationships and a correlation analysis were used to solve the problem. The authors found that offline privacy is important among most young people, yet more than half of those asked considered online security to be very important as well. Positive and negative correlations were found between reasons for using social media and users’ privacy behaviour. The results of the study identified a correlation between active and passive users’ security settings and motivations for using social media. The authors conclude that users are aware of the high vulnerability of personal data on the Internet, however, may consciously sacrifice their security for the benefits that influence their motives for using social media: online identity, fear of missing out, convenience, sharing, information consumption and communication.

The philosophy of history needs the availability of basic components, namely: historical material (cognitive), historical thought (historical mentality represented by sense and historical awareness), and a balanced academic method (organized and precise) in order for the rational philosophical vision to emerge from comprehensive study of a civilizational nature for which laws (theories) can be formulated. ), with realistic evidence and evidence, called the philosophy of history! . Al-Yaqubi (third century AH / ninth century AD) showed comprehensive analysis with his sense and historical awareness, and through his historical criticism and his renewal of the method of historical recording, he distinguished himself from those who preceded him and those who followed him with his book entitled “The Problem of People of Their Time and What Predominates in Every Age,” thus revealing the beginning of For the idea of the philosophy of history, where he laid the foundations for the theory of the problem (imitation, imitation) as one of the engines of the wheel of history, a factor influencing the spirituality of the era, the natures of the members of society, and an important and vital part in the formation of human civilizations . The law of problematization, in its philosophical theory, requires AlYaqoubi to reveal the characteristics of each caliph in his policies, interests, and social behaviors, which applies to those with power, influence, prestige, and authority, and as a symbol and role model for society (an elite group), in a collective imitation of their behaviors (at all times and places) by individuals. Human societies. Accordingly, Al-Yaqubi assumed that rulers have a fundamental role in preserving states and societies, and developing civilizations. They can either reform or corrupt them at all levels of civilization, and therefore the problem changes according to the trends of the elite symbols !

The article provides a theoretical analysis of the problem of psychological safety in the flight operation of highly automated aircraft based on interdisciplinary research. Scientific and technological advances in high-risk occupations aim to improve the reliability of the functioning of ergative systems, of which the human operator is the most important element. However, the problem of occupational safety for professionals in extreme situations cannot be regarded as solved. The article covers findings regarding the application of modern digital solutions such as virtual reality and augmented reality, providing an example of a formal investigation into an aircraft accident due to human error. An urgent task of aviation psychology consists of studying psychological aspects of the positive and negative influences of augmented reality on flight activity, since besides obvious options of increasing the professional reliability of a pilot, there is a risk of emergence of a psychological dependence on such a technology, and the consequent occurrence of blunders in piloting and navigation strategies. The authors conclude that the issue of safety in the flying profession shall be solved through the joint effort of all sciences of human factors. Modern digital solutions are only an essential prerequisite for ensuring the occupational safety of pilots. All stages of professionalisation of flight staff, starting with the professional selection of applicants, should be accompanied by predictive methods aimed at diagnosing and developing the individual’s ability to use the possibilities of the real and virtual world productively and synchronously in their work.

Streszczenie:
The article subjects to observation some coordinates of Chisinau’s musical life over the course of about a hundred years after the annexation of Bessarabia to the Russian Empire. The sources that served as documentary support for achieving this goal are: historical, literary, and scientific writings, sketches, notes, travel memoirs of some people, passing through our lands, testimonies little known or more difficult to reach the reader. From the synthesis of the most eloquent data and information, inserted in the reference sources, we try to outline a general picture of music in the administrative center of Moldavia on the left bank of the Prut during the years 1812- 1918. The view, resulting from the reconstruction of the musical landscape in the researched urban environment, offers a rich palette of events. Following the chronology of the presence of music in society, we highlight its main forms of expression, including folk music, music of boyar salons (fashionable), religious music, military music, concert activities, musical-theatrical performances. Through the prism of the musical components recorded within the specified time interval, we identify different styles, influences, artistic tastes, as well as the share of music in the urban society. We also draw attention to the social functions that music fulfilled in the Chisinau cultural environment at that time. The undertaken radiography leads us to the finding that European music is beginning to gain more and more ground for assertion in the cultural life of Chisinau with a wider openness to Western civilization and the assimilation of new artistic forms of manifestation.
