Pełny tekst źródłaIn this doctoral research, we are interested exclusively in the means and partners of entrepreneurs with social, motor or sensory disabilities, based on the theory of effectuation. This thesis is structured in two parts of four and six chapters respectively. Part I sets the framework for the research : presentation of new research on entrepreneurs with motor or sensory disabilities, theoretical framework, research methodology and positioning and issues. Part II presents six research works.Three research works focus on homeless youth successively in France, the United States and in comparison through a life story of a young dreamer, informal entrepreneurship and training. Three research studies consider entrepreneurs with motor or sensory disabilities through their characteristics, their ecosystem and the particular case of the professional integration of two masseur-physiotherapists.In conclusion, we discuss the results from a global point of view, mobilize the critical approach in entrepreneurship, propose general contributions and present research limits.This research has several limitations. First, it focuses on the experiences of entrepreneurs with social, motor, or sensory disabilities based solely on their representations of those experiences. The data collected is based on a retrospective story told by the informants themselves. The informants' speeches and their actions cannot be compared, except during the field survey. Furthermore, the people who accompany the informants from a personal, associative or professional point of view are not interviewed. The views are therefore not crossed or discussed. Only one angle of analysis is privileged, which creates grey areas

Pełny tekst źródłaThe goal of this thesis is to understand how the mechanisms of influence work in leadership relationships, and what their effects are within the different organizational actors. The basic proposition is that leadership can be considered a mutual influence process, which has an impact on the identity of the individuals involved. Following the premises of critical management studies, a theoretical framework is developed that conceives of leadership as a power relationship and as a space for identity formation. The empirical component of this work is made up of two case studies in two Colombian organizations, in each one of which the narrative identity of the leaders, the influence tactics that they use, the reaction that these tactics produce in their followers, and the possibility of the existence of reciprocal influence relationships was identified. Based on the results, one can formulate five theoretical verifications about the influence processes in the studied cases: 1. In leadership, influence is produced as a result of the coherence between the discourse and the action. ; 2. There is a relationship between the leader’s narrative identity, the power strategy and the influence tactics: 3. The influence tactics used by leaders are banal and diverse; 4. They make up an identifiable pattern, and 5. The follower reacts in a coherent way to the influence tactics exerted over him. The results of this research champion for the expansion of the limits of the leadership field, for the development of research work that has an interpretative and critical interest, and for a new appreciation of the role of the collaborator in organizational life

Indeed, the entrepreneurial potential of women is obvious and this doctorate thesis focuses on this potential in the Cameroonian context. The literature on female entrepreneurship offers works mainly focused on the emergence of firms while writings dealing with development are rare. Yet, despite difficulties linked to access to resources, women entrepreneurs in Cameroon have succeeded. It has appeared both useful and necessary to “exhibit” these cases with the caution ensured by the scientific protocol of the “case study” method. So, our work aims at understanding how and why Cameroonian women entrepreneurs succeed in moving from a “small business” to a more ambitious business. In this regard, in-depth and comparative studies of three enterprises selected by homogenization in the service sector were conducted. The methodological framework thus chosen is supported by the concept of Business Model for the presentation of cases under analysis and by the convention theory for their understanding

Pełny tekst źródłaHow decision makers identify and formulate strategic issues has been widely neglected in both managerial cognition and decision making literature. There is much empirical and theoretical evidence however, that managers must represent their environment as a first step in the decision making process. Issue formulation is a part of this cognitive work of constructing a representation. As the manager deals continually with multiple issues among which he allocates limited cognitive resources, we propose that the formulation of strategic issues should be analysed at the more general level of the agenda-building process. The decision makers' agenda entails all the issues that he is considering at the same time. Since the agenda is defined as a representation, its formulation can be studied in terms of content (what it is about) and of structure (how it is structured). In this research we propose a conceptual and methodological framework to study the process of senior managers' agenda structuration. A panel of 4 senior managers has been used and followed during a one year period in order to understand how they build their agenda. The agenda of another manager at a lower hierarchical level has also been analysed so as to evidence the other managers' agenda's specificities. Cognitive mapping has been used to graphically represent the content and structure of the agenda studied. The results of the synchronic analysis allow to answer to the first research question i ("what are the structural characteristics of the managerial agenda ?"). The diachronic analysis i helps answering to the second question ("how does this structure evolve ?"). At least, both i parts are synthesised into a model of agenda building's structuration and the results are i compared to existing research

After an analysis of an existing theory over woman entrepreneurship and a study two experimental cases, it has been properly proved to study the women entrepreneur process in Senegal in considering both the individual and collective sides. The purpose of this research is to understand, describe, and explain the process of women entrepreneurship in Senegal by putting the stress on the representation that women are having on their entrepreneur activities in their specific domains. To achieve this objective, we have chosen an interpretative approach which rests on the empirical theory with a typical quality-inductive approach and the case study strategy. Therefore, even though we have used additional data to complete it, they are considered as primary data obtained from the study of ten (1o) cases of individual entrepreneurs and eight (8) other women associations gathering in collective entrepreneur activities. At the end of the analysis we have managed to implement the characteristics of woman entrepreneurship’s and is actors regarding the Senegalese context. In the last part of our analysis, the thesis proposes an empirical and detailed theory, of the woman entrepreneurship process with environmental and personal variables

The economists highlight two kinds of analysis for observe "entrepreneur". For the firsts, the entrepreneur is the economic dynamic engine. For the others, the entrepreneur is a social construction of capitalism. The entrepreneur takes its investements opportunities from his environment which is constructed by the initiatives of other entrepreneurs, the State, consumers, employees. In an industrial economy under restructuration, where the large enterprise (and the large factory) dominates social activities and norms, what is the place of small business and of the entrepreneur ? what are the good factors which may boost entrepreneurship ? The small business is indissociable to the profile of his creator, and the creator appears and asserts himself in the local economic milieu. Reviewing the case of Dunkirk, we demonstrate that economic dynamic is spurred by the political willingness. Then the density of relations between local economic actors form a special area of entrepreneurship

On the managerial level, the production of knowledge on the network will make it possible to discard the bad reputation of the term of “personal relation” and to develop a better interpersonal and inter-organizational connection for Vietnamese entrepreneurs. These, nuclei of an emerging dynamic private sector, are still dispersed in an individual functioning. On the academic level, the thesis exploits an expanded view towards the social nature of the entrepreneur’s economic activity.The four case studies specify the role of social groups in the entrepreneur network and their transformation into stakeholders. Pełny tekst źródłaSince the end of 1980s, Sustainable Development (SD) has been made the object of much attention, driving the different actors of society to change their behaviors. Various institutional and private initiatives were introduced favoring the implementation of the concept. It was the case for example in Quebec, where the government introduced in 2004 a Plan de développement durable, followed by a the Sustainable Development Act in 2006. Various studies focused on the manner in which companies react to different pressures to widen their spheres of responsibility, but some key issues remain little studied in the literature. This is particularly the case for companies that display passive and negative behavior in the field of the integration of the integration of SD, and Small and Medium-Sized Entreprises (SMEs) in particular. SMEs offer a fertile ground for exploration because of their importance and economic weight, and their historically commitment to the environmental aspects of the SD. The objective of this qualitative study is to produce a portrait of the practices and the discourses of companies, in particular SMEs, in the field of the SD. More specifically, this research aims to analyze the stance of Quebec companies towards SD and of the public policies on this matter, as well as the perceptions of the SMEs which are less committed in this area and the justifications provided. To this end, a content analysis To this end, a content analysis of 69 submissions presented by the business community during the public consultation on the Plan de développement durable du Québec in 2005 was conducted, followed by a case study in nine manufacturing SMEs based on 33 interviews. The results allow to highlight the fact that enterprises adopt and justify passives positions to towards the implementation of SD are assumed and justified by the enterprises. In addition, the inactive behaviors in the field of SD seem just as legitimate as the increasing pressures and the prevailing views favoring the adoption of the SD. This calls into question the findings of recent studies, which adopt an optimistic view on the business engagement in SD, particularly among SMEs. Pełny tekst źródłaLa sphère familiale et l’entrepreneuriat sont interreliés et complémentaires. Cependant les exigences élevées de part et d’autre brisent l’harmonie. Les enjeux de conciliation entrepreneuriat-vie familiale sont particulièrement importants pour les femmes. Par ailleurs, la littérature sur la conciliation travail-famille (CTF) a documenté les répercussions du conflit entre ces deux sphères ainsi que les moyens pour pallier ces défis. Cependant, la plupart des recherches portent sur les personnes en emploi. Cette recherche qualitative vise à identifier les stratégies de CTF utilisées par les femmes entrepreneures de la Capitale-Nationale, à comprendre les facteurs influençant leur choix de stratégies et à analyser les effets de ces dernières. L’analyse de contenu et le développement de cas individuels ont permis de répertorier dix-neuf (19) stratégies et de les catégoriser selon la typologie de Neal et Hammer (2007) : comportementales, cognitives et affectives. Selon l’analyse, il n’y aurait pas de stratégie parfaite. Cependant, certaines caractéristiques chez les entrepreneures, leur sphère famille et leur entreprise peuvent être des facilitateurs ou des contraintes lors du choix et de la mise en place des stratégies de CTF. Our research is committed to highlight via a qualitative exploratory study of four Lebanese SMEs if these companies are aware of the ESG performance criteria, underline the role of managers, stakeholders, and the adoption of ESG standards in promoting responsible practices. Lebanese SMEs are often neophytes’ grounds for CSR. Their main challenges include improving their economic and financial performance and especially their survival. The ESG commitment of Lebanese SMEs is mainly justified by the manager’s beliefs and values, the improvement of economic and financial performance and sometimes by the adoption of ESG standards. There are many brakes especially the lack of financial resources mainly due to economic and political crisis

We are interested in the information system risk management, for whom the literature underlines the lack of involvement of top-managers.We approach the concern under the view of the decision of top executives for ISS, through four theoretical streams: the models of the managerial perceptions of IS risks, the risks perception in psychology, the institutional theory and the theory about symbolic adoption of the innovations. The aim is to make intelligible the influences on the symbolic adoption of such ISS approach. We use a qualitative method organized around 17 case studies in companies with varied activities. Our results highlight the relevance to study the ISS according to an individual perspective of risk management. On one hand, the characteristics of the psychological evaluation of the risks enlighten the biases for the management of the information system risk. On the other hand, the study of these biases brings a new perspective on the understanding of the investment of the top executives for the ISS. In particular, we underline the insensitivity of the top managers in the exposure of the risk, a preference to approach the risks under a threats point of view. We expose the influences which contribute to adopt a technical and not managerial ISS such as suggests by the Research. Finally, our analysis brings to the foreground perspectives to extend the comprehension of a reactive ISS, defame by ISS’ academics

It shows how the change is initiated by the liberalization of energy markets and fuelled by a change in the way executive committees and high civil servants perceive the firms and their organizational form (part I). The dynamics of the energy industry depend on those caracterizing the bureaucratic field and the European Commission. Firms concentrate and compete with one another, with the supervision of the bureaucratic field and the European commission (part II). The – partial and differenciated - estrangement of the energy industry from the bureaucratic field goes together with a rapprochement in a financial environment and the European field of energy via a internationlization of the firms (part III).
