Streszczenie:
The article focuses on the Amazonian young natives’ conceptions of cultural traditions. It looks at the way young Manchineri, Apurinã and Cashinahua living in the Acre state, Brazil, ‘operate’ with what they call their cultural traditions and what is its role in their everyday lives. The data used for the analysis consists principally of interview material, but fieldwork methods also involved participant observation, video recordings, photographs and drawings made by these young people. The analysis applies the category of the sacred, as it explains the symbolic limits set in different societies. The results show that corporeal and spatial distinctions of young Indians’ cultural traditions provide the prime means for categorizing behaviour, and for creating and maintaining a traditional system of values as a viable resource for adjusting themselves to the demands of the changing social circumstances. Young Amazonian Indians operate with the dynamism of ‘tradition’, continuously recreating and reinterpreting their indigenous traditions. They have learnt this already in their relation to nature, and presently continue in the relation with the state and non-Indians. For a young native person, ‘tradition’ offers a social and cultural space amid a dominant society. However, tradition represents rather temporal transformations than the state of being.

The cashinahua group of the pano family, is found in Brazil and Peru. The present work gives an overview of the group and the cashinahua language with particular emphasis on the latter. In the first section I provide a certain amount of ethnographic, ethnological, and ethnolinguistic information. More particularly, i study the conceptualization of those four categories which determine the socio-cultural structure of the group: "kuin", "bemakia" and "kayabi" I go on to illustrate the difficulty of translating these terms into other non-cashinahua languages. As far as linguistics itself is concerned, I demonstrate the morphophonology as well as the consonantal and vocalic phonological systems, paying attention to the two most frequent phenomena: elision and nasalization. The syllable and the accent are also examined. With respect to morphology, i examine the nominal, the verbal, and their respective affixes with respect to syntax; I look at the basic structures of minimal and simple sentences, and the active and the attributive voice. The linguistic elements analyzed here were collected from the cashinahua in Brazil between 1988 and 1989

Abstract: The exact sciences are responsible for most of the research being carried out regarding climate changes. The object of this study is to give an anthropological point-of-view to the subject. The main question is: how are the climate changes perceived and lived by the people of the region of high Juruá? Extreme climate events such as unexpected rain and great floods are ingrained in the memory of these forest dwellers. Such memories are transmitted throughout generations. This allows the flooding stories in high Juruá to remain vivid. The climate is very important for the people who live in the forest, as it is a knowledge related to the world and life practical needs. To account for such knowledge, observations from rubber tappers, farmers, and Huni Kuin and Ashaninka people were collected concerning their understanding of the climate and its variations, seasons and forecasts. The result was different ways of looking at the climate changes within their respective outlooks. These groups have developed an understanding about the environment and the climate throughout generations. It is thought that it is part of the anthropology's duty to demonstrate such understanding, making the traditional knowledge about nature visible. Such duty is important, as this is a theme of local and global relevance. It is hoped that this study will be able to contribute to what can be called climate anthropology
