This paper presents a new physical [Formula: see text] (SBT) memristor-based chaotic circuit. The equilibrium point and the stability of the chaotic circuit are analyzed theoretically. This circuit system exhibits multiple dynamics such as stable point, periodic cycle and chaos by means of Lyapunov exponents spectra, bifurcation diagrams, Poincaré maps and phase portraits, when the initial state or the circuit parameter changes. Specially, the circuit system exhibits coexisting multi-dynamics. This study provides insightful guidance for the design and analysis of physical memristor-based circuits.

DC–DC converters are widely used. They are a typical class of strongly nonlinear time-varying systems that show rich nonlinear phenomena under certain working conditions. Therefore, an in-depth study of their nonlinear phenomena, characteristics, and generation mechanism is of great practical significance for gaining a deep understanding of this kind of switching converter, revealing the essence of these nonlinear phenomena and then optimizing the design of this kind of converter. Based on the fact that most of the inductance and capacitance are fractional-order, the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of the fractional-order (FO) DCM buck–boost converter are researched in this paper. The main research work and achievements of this paper include: (1) using the predictor–corrector method of fractional calculus, which is not limited by fractional order and can directly calculate the accurate values of the inductance current and capacitor voltage of the fractional converter; the predictor–corrector model of the FO converter is established. (2) The bifurcation diagrams are obtained based on this model, and the period-doubling bifurcation and chaotic behavior of the FO buck–boost converter are analyzed. (3) The phase diagrams are obtained and verified to the point that period-doubling bifurcation occurs; then, some conclusions are drawn. The results show that under certain operating and parameters conditions, the FO buck–boost converter will appear as a bifurcation and chaotic nonlinear phenomenon. Under the condition of the same circuit parameters, the stability parameter domains of the integer-order buck–boost converter and the FO buck–boost converter are different. Compared with the integer-order converter, the parameter stability region of the FO buck–boost converter is bigger. The FO buck–boost converter is more accurate at describing the nonlinear dynamic characteristics. Furthermore, the predictor–corrector method can also be applied to other FO power converters and provides theoretical guidance for converter parameter optimization and controller design.

In the paper, a fourth-order SBT-memristor-based chaotic system described by the flux-controlled model is investigated. The stability of the chaotic system is analyzed, and the effects of initial conditions and circuit parameters on the SBT-memristor-based chaotic circuit are discussed by mathematical methods of Lyapunov exponents spectra, bifurcation diagrams, phase orbits and Poincaré maps. Through simulations, it is observed that the dynamical characteristics vary with initial states and circuit parameters. Complex dynamical behaviors such as stable points, period cycles and chaos can be found in the SBT-memristor-based system. It is also found that the system exhibits multistability, which is closely dependent on the initial state of the SBT memristor. This study provides insightful guidance for the design and analysis of memristor-based circuits towards potential real applications.

Top-tensioned riser (TTR) is one of the most frequently used pieces of equipment in offshore petroleum engineering. At present, the research of its vortex-induced vibration (VIV) is mainly focused on numerical simulation with few analytical approaches. In this paper, the nonlinear dynamic equation of VIV about TTR is developed by introducing the third-order variable lift coefficient hydrodynamic model. The amplitude-frequency response equation under 1:1 primary resonance excitation is deduced based on the single mode discrete results. The nonlinear dynamic responses characteristics of the TTR vibration under the excitation of vortex-induced resonance are discussed. Bifurcation theory is used to study the singularity of the analytical solution of the riser system. The hysteresis and solitary solutions from the results of singularity analysis are found. Such results can provide guidance for the design and optimization of riser structural parameters.

The stochastic P-bifurcation behavior of tri-stability in a fractional-order van der Pol system with time-delay feedback under additive Gaussian white noise excitation is investigated. Firstly, according to the equivalent principle, the fractional derivative and the time-delay term can be equivalent to a linear combination of damping and restoring forces, so the original system can be simplified into an equivalent integer-order system. Secondly, the stationary probability density function of the system amplitude is obtained by the stochastic averaging, and based on the singularity theory, the critical parameters for stochastic P-bifurcation of the system are found. Finally, the properties of stationary probability density function curves of the system amplitude are qualitatively analyzed by choosing corresponding parameters in each sub-region divided by the transition set curves. The consistence between numerical results obtained by Monte-Carlo simulation and analytical solutions has verified the accuracy of the theoretical analysis. The method used in this paper has a direct guidance in the design of fractional-order controller to adjust the dynamic behavior of the system.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the initial mixing of wastewater discharged from submerged outfall diffusers and the influence of port configurations on wastewater distribution based on computational results. Design/methodology/approach – Marine wastewater discharges from multiport diffusers are investigated by numerically solving three-dimensional and uncompressible two-phase flow fields. A mixture model simulates this flow and the standard k-e model to resolve flow turbulence; inter-phase interactions were described in terms of relative slip velocity between phases. Computations were performed for two values of the port spacings s/H with different current Froude numbers F. Findings – Computational results compared well with previous laboratory measurements. Numerical results reveal that for both the closely spaced (s/H=0.21) and widely spaced (s/H=3.0) ports, the normalized dilution Sn becomes independent of F; further, the length of the near field xn and the spreading layer thickness hn are functions of F. For the closely spaced ports, the wastewater discharge behaves like a line plume, the Coanda effect is obvious, quasi-bifurcation is present, horseshoe structures of the jets in the planes are rapidly produced and then squashed and elongated, and the jet trajectories based on maximum velocity precede those based on maximum concentration. For the widely spaced ports, the wastewater discharge behaves like a point plume, the Coanda effect is not obvious, bifurcation is present, horseshoe structures of the jets in the planes are gradually produced and become ellipses, and the jet trajectories based on maximum velocity are similar to those based on maximum concentration. Originality/value – Semi-empirical equations are presented to predict major near field characteristics. These provide guidance for designing multiport diffusers and assessing environmental impact.

Piecewise non-smooth model of three-degree-of-freedom rolling bearing system with fault in outer Ring is established by the method of the nonlinear theory. The Neimark-Sacker bifurcation of bearing system is first studied in this paper. The switching matrixes of system are obtained at the switching boundaries, and theNeimark-Sacker bifurcation of non-smooth bearing system is analyzed by combining the switching matrixes with the Floquet theory for smooth systems. The numerical method is used to further reveal the Neimark-Sacker bifurcation of bearing system through establishing the Poincare mapping on the collision plane. When the rotating frequency is increased to reach the critical bifurcation point, a pair of complex conjugate Floquet multipliers is on the unit circle and others into a unit circle , and the Neimark-Sacker bifurcation appears.The study of bifurcation of the fault bearing system provides reliable basis for the design and fault diagnosis and provides theoretical guidance and technical support for the actual design in the safe and stable operation of large high-speed rotating machinery.

A modified high-temperature superconducting maglev model is studied in this paper, mainly considering the influence of time delay on the dynamic properties of the system. For the original model without time delay, there are periodic equilibrium points. We investigate its stability and Hopf bifurcation and study the bifurcation properties by using the center manifold theorem and the normal form theory. For the delayed model, we mainly study the co-dimension two bifurcations (Bautin and Hopf–Hopf bifurcations) of the system. Specifically, we prove the existence of Bautin bifurcation and calculate the normal form of Hopf–Hopf bifurcation through the bifurcation theory of functional differential equations. Finally, we numerically simulate the abundant dynamic phenomena of the system. The two-parameter bifurcation diagram in the delayed model is given directly. Based on this, some nontrivial phenomena of the system, such as periodic coexistence and multistability, are well presented. Compared with the original ordinary differential equation system, the introduction of time delay makes the system appear chaotic behavior, and with the increase in delay, the variation law between displacement and velocity becomes more complex, which provides further insights into the dynamics of the high-temperature superconducting maglev model.

Abstract Purpose In vitro blood flow studies in carotid artery bifurcation models may contribute to understanding the influence of hemodynamics on carotid artery disease. However, the design of in vitro blood flow studies involves many steps and selection of imaging techniques, model materials, model design, and flow visualization parameters. Therefore, an overview of the possibilities and guidance for the design process is beneficial for researchers with less experience in flow studies. Methods A systematic search to in vitro flow studies in carotid artery bifurcation models aiming at quantification and detailed flow visualization of blood flow dynamics results in inclusion of 42 articles. Results Four categories of imaging techniques are distinguished: MRI, optical particle image velocimetry (PIV), ultrasound and miscellaneous techniques. Parameters for flow visualization are categorized into velocity, flow, shear-related, turbulent/disordered flow and other parameters. Model materials and design characteristics vary between study type. Conclusions A simplified three-step design process is proposed for better fitting and adequate match with the pertinent research question at hand and as guidance for less experienced flow study researchers. The three consecutive selection steps are: flow parameters, image modality, and model materials and designs. Model materials depend on the chosen imaging technique, whereas choice of flow parameters is independent from imaging technique and is therefore only determined by the goal of the study.

Aim To investigate the characteristics of coronary artery bifurcation type (parallel or perpendicular type) using three-dimensional (3D) optical coherence tomography (OCT), and determine the feasibility, reproducibility, assessment time and correlation with bifurcation angles measured by 3D quantitative coronary angiography (QCA). Methods and results We evaluated 60 lesions at the coronary bifurcation that were treated by main vessel (MV) stenting with kissing balloon inflation (KBI) under OCT/optical frequency domain imaging (OFDI) guidance. Inter- and intra-observer agreement regarding the assessment of 3D bifurcation types were 0.88 and 0.94, respectively. The assessment times of 3D-OCT bifurcation type with OCT and OFDI were within about 30 seconds. 3D-OCT bifurcation types showed the greatest correlation with the distal bifurcation angle assessed by 3D-QCA among the three bifurcation angles (distal bifurcation angle, proximal bifurcation angle and main vessel angle), and the optimal cut-off distal bifurcation angle to predict a perpendicular type bifurcation, as determined by ROC analysis, was 51.0° (AUC 0.773, sensitivity 0.80, specificity 0.67). Based on this cut-off value for the distal bifurcation angle (51°), the diagnostic accuracy for perpendicular type bifurcation in cases with a BA ≥ 51° (n = 34) was 70.6% (24/34) and that of the parallel type bifurcation in cases of BA < 51° (n = 26) was 76.9% (20/26). Conclusion Performing 3D-OCT for assessment of coronary artery bifurcation type is feasible and simple, and can be done in a short time with high reproducibility.

Bifurcation tailoring is a method developed to design control laws modifying the bifurcation diagram of a nonlinear dynamical system to a desired one. In its original formulation, this method does not account for the possible presence of constraints on state and/or manipulated inputs. In this paper, a novel formulation of the bifurcation tailoring method overcoming this limitation is presented. In accordance with the proposed approach, a feedforward control law generating an optimal bifurcation diagram is computed by constrained minimization of an objective functional. Then, a feedback control system enforcing stability of the computed equilibrium branch is designed. In this context, bifurcation analysis is exploited to select feedback controller parameters ensuring desired output behavior and, at the same time, preventing the occurrence of multistability. The method is numerically validated on the problem of tailoring the bifurcation diagram of an exothermic chemical reactor.

Aiming at the puncture and drainage of clinical intracranial hematoma, we proposed an adaptive bifurcation algorithm based on the hematoma point cloud and optimized the design of the drainage tube. Firstly, based on the CT data of intracranial hematoma patients, a three-dimensional hematoma model was established, the point cloud on the surface of the hematoma was extracted and simplified, and the location of the main drainage tube was located by using the long-axis extraction algorithm. Secondly, the Eight Diagrams algorithm was used to identify the internal point cloud of hematoma, and the positions of multiple absorption points were determined by the K-means clustering algorithm. The locations of the bifurcation points of the main drainage tubes were calculated by the numerical method, and the telescopic lengths and directions of multiple subdrainage tubes were obtained. Finally, connect the main tube and the subtube, design an adaptive bifurcation drainage tube model, and apply it to intracranial hematoma puncture and drainage surgery. The algorithm can accurately determine the puncture point, puncture path, number, and location of subdrainage tubes according to the geometric characteristics of hematoma, achieve a uniform and accurate dose adjustment and drainage of intracranial hematoma, and accelerate the dissolution and drainage speed. The application of an adaptive bifurcation drainage tube can significantly reduce the risk of intracerebral hemorrhage, intracranial infection, and other complications, which has certain guiding significance and application value in clinical practice.

Purpose This paper aims presents topology optimization of microfluidic channels with reverse flow. Design/methodology/approach A circular chamber with an inlet and an outlet are chosen as an initial design domain. The energy dissipation is chosen as an objective function. The incompressible Navier–Stokes equation is applied for simulating the fluidic motion in channels. An artificial friction force which is proportional to the flow velocity is substituted into the Navier–Stokes equation for controlling the design variable. Findings The effect of a bifurcation angle between the inlet and the outlet on a topological structure is analyzed. The flow velocity, pressure and design variable for every bifurcation angle are obtained. Originality/value This work is instructive to the design of a microfluidic system.

A novel homing guidance law against maneuvering targets based on the deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) is proposed. The proposed guidance law directly maps the engagement state information to the acceleration of the interceptor, which is an end-to-end guidance policy. Firstly, the kinematic model of the interception process is described as a Markov decision process (MDP) that is applied to the deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithm. Then, an environment of training, state, action, and network structure is reasonably designed. Only the measurements of line-of-sight (LOS) angles and LOS rotational rates are used as state inputs, which can greatly simplify the problem of state estimation. Then, considering the LOS rotational rate and zero-effort-miss (ZEM), the Gaussian reward and terminal reward are designed to build a complete training and testing simulation environment. DDPG is used to deal with the RL problem to obtain a guidance law. Finally, the proposed RL guidance law’s performance has been validated using numerical simulation examples. The proposed RL guidance law demonstrated improved performance compared to the classical true proportional navigation (TPN) method and the RL guidance policy using deep-Q-network (DQN).

Following a similar trend from the 1990's, IC package design is experiencing a sea change. As a refresher, the 1990's is when the ball grid array (BGA) came along, introducing a whole new set of design tool requirements. The mechanical design tools used for the previous generation of lead frame styled packages were no longer capable of supporting the new design requirements of the BGA. In short, the BGA introduced multi-layer routable organic and ceramic substrates and new possibilities for stacking (and embedding) multi-die, requiring designers to abandon their mechanical design tools and look at new solutions for doing package design. On top of that, IO's were switching faster than ever, requiring engineers to look at new ways of electrically characterizing these designs. As a result, a couple of EDA companies stepped up and adapted their printed circuit board (PCB) layout and analysis tools for that generation of BGA-based advanced packaging. Problem (more or less) solved! Fast forward to today and we see a very similar trend. Now being introduced at a rapid pace, are new advanced IC packaging solutions that have a lot more silicon content, wafer stacking and, in some cases, chips being packaged directly at the wafer-level at traditional IC foundries, skipping the traditional OSAT model of the past. Make no mistake, this is a significant change to the status quo of BGA package design tools of the past. The PCB-like flows that were established for BGA design are likely not the path forward for technologies like, 2.5D/3D IC and fan-out wafer-level packaging (FOWLP). Instead, in all likelihood IC design tools and flows will need to be slightly adapted to support the next generation of package designs. Let's start with foundry-based FOWLP. In this case, induvial dice are placed on a chip-carrier with additional spacing between them. Molding is poured in the empty space and then an array of bumps (UBM) and the connectivity (RDL) are added. In foundry-based flows, these UBM and RDL layers require IC-styled routing/metal fill and mask generation from the layout tool. In addition, these masks must be verified with traditional IC DRC/LVS tools. It's clear that some kind of hybrid advanced packaging flow using some traditional IC tools in the flow is required to support this type of design. And in fact, if you look at the largest semiconductor foundries reference flow tools, you will find this to be true. This presentation further examines the design tool/flow requirement for FOWLP, 2.5D/3D IC and future multi-die packaging technologies.

Abstract. Recently, for modeling biological amplification processes, nonlinear amplifiers based on the supercritical Andronov–Hopf bifurcation have been widely analyzed analytically. For technical realizations, digital systems have become the most relevant systems in signal processing applications. The underlying continuous-time systems are transferred to the discrete-time domain using numerical integration methods. Within this contribution, effects on the qualitative behavior of the Andronov–Hopf bifurcation based systems concerning numerical integration methods are analyzed. It is shown exemplarily that explicit Runge–Kutta methods transform the truncated normalform equation of the Andronov–Hopf bifurcation into the normalform equation of the Neimark–Sacker bifurcation. Dependent on the order of the integration method, higher order terms are added during this transformation.A rescaled normalform equation of the Neimark–Sacker bifurcation is introduced that allows a parametric design of a discrete-time system which corresponds to the rescaled Andronov–Hopf system. This system approximates the characteristics of the rescaled Hopf-type amplifier for a large range of parameters. The natural frequency and the peak amplitude are preserved for every set of parameters. The Neimark–Sacker bifurcation based systems avoid large computational effort that would be caused by applying higher order integration methods to the continuous-time normalform equations.

During construction, the workload of excavation and concrete pouring can be significantly decreased according to optimized pipe structure, and the engineering quality can be improved. This paper presents an optimization mathematical model of underground reinforced concrete bifurcation pipe structure according to real working status of several common pipe structures from real cases. Then, an optimization design system was developed based on Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm. Furthermore, take the bifurcation pipe of one hydropower station as an example: optimization analysis was conducted, and accuracy and stability of the optimization design system were verified successfully.

The discrete logistic map is one of the most famous discrete chaotic maps which has widely spread applications. This paper investigates a set of four generalized logistic maps where the conventional map is a special case. The proposed maps have extra degrees of freedom which provide different chaotic characteristics and increase the design flexibility required for many applications such as quantitative financial modeling. Based on the maximum chaotic range of the output, the proposed maps can be classified as positive logistic map, mostly positive logistic map, negative logistic map, and mostly negative logistic map. Mathematical analysis for each generalized map includes bifurcation diagrams relative to all parameters, effective range of parameters, first bifurcation point, and the maximum Lyapunov exponent (MLE). Independent, vertical, and horizontal scales of the bifurcation diagram are discussed for each generalized map as well as a new bifurcation diagram related to one of the added parameters. A systematic procedure to design two-constraint logistic map is discussed and validated through four different examples.

The paper proposes a two-dimensional impact time control cooperative guidance law under constant velocity and a three-dimensional impact time control cooperative guidance law under time-varying velocity, which can both improve the penetration ability and combat effectiveness of multi-missile systems and adapt to the complex and variable future warfare. First, a more accurate time-to-go estimation method is proposed, and based on which a modified proportional navigational guidance (MPNG) law with impact time constraint is designed in this paper, which is also effective when the initial leading angle is zero. Second, adopting cooperative guidance architecture with centralized coordination, using the MPNG law as the local guidance, and the desired impact time as the coordination variables, a two-dimensional impact time control cooperative guidance law under constant velocity is designed. Finally, a method of solving the expression of velocity is derived, and the analytic function of velocity with respect to time is given, a three-dimensional impact time control cooperative guidance law under time-varying velocity based on desired impact time is designed. Numerical simulation results verify the feasibility and applicability of the methods.

Spiking and bursting observed in nerve membranes seem to be important when we investigate information representation model in the brain. Many topologically different bursting responses are observed in the mathematical models and their related bifurcation mechanisms have been clarified. In this paper, we propose a design method to generate bursting responses in FitzHugh–Nagumo model with a simple periodic external force based on bifurcation analysis. Some effective parameter perturbations for the amplitude of the external input are given from the two-parameter bifurcation diagram.

A nonlinear sliding mode based scheme is developed for lateral guidance of unmanned aerial vehicles. The guidance and control system is considered as an inner and outer loop design problem, the outer guidance loop generates commands for the inner control loop to follow. Control loop dynamics is considered during derivation of the guidance logic, along with saturation constraints on the guidance commands. A nonlinear sliding manifold is selected for guidance logic design, the guidance loop generates bank angle commands for the inner roll control loop to follow. The real twisting algorithm, a higher order sliding mode algorithm is used for guidance logic design. Existence of the sliding mode along with boundedness of the guidance command is proved to ensure that controls are not saturated for large track errors. The proposed logic also contains an element of anticipatory or feed-forward control, which enables tight tracking for sharply curving paths. Efficacy of the proposed method is verified by flight testing on a scaled YAK-54 unmanned aerial vehicle. Flight results demonstrate robustness and effectiveness of the proposed guidance scheme in the presence of disturbances.

Analytical expressions of the bifurcation boundaries exhibited by turret mooring systems (TMS), and expressions that define the morphogeneses occurring across boundaries are developed. These expressions provide the necessary means for evaluating the stability of a TMS around an equilibrium position, and constructing catastrophe sets in two or three-dimensional parametric design spaces. Sensitivity analyses of the bifurcation boundaries define the effect of any parameter or group of parameters on the dynamical behavior of the system. These expressions allow the designer to select appropriate values for TMS design parameters without resorting to trial and error. A four-line TMS is used to demonstrate this design methodology. The mathematical model consists of the nonlinear, fifth-order, low-speed, large-drift maneuvering equations. Mooring lines are modeled with submerged catenaries, and include nonlinear drag. External excitation consists of time-independent current, wind, and mean wave drift.

Aiming at the problem of the terminal guidance phase of hypersonic vehicles (HSV) under fault condition, and considering the existence of various uncertain parameters and actuator faults in the control system, a fault-tolerant integrated guidance and control design of a hypersonic vehicle based on the proximal policy optimization algorithm (PPO) is proposed. First, in view of the problem that the separate guidance and control loop design cannot make full use of the coupling relationship between the two, the relationship between the guidance loop and the control loop is considered and an integrated guidance and control system of HSV is established. Then, the integrated guidance and control problem is converted into a reinforcement learning model, the action space, state observation space, and reward function of the PPO agent are designed, and the network is initialized and designed. Simulations verify the feasibility of the proposed PPO-based IGC system.

DC/DC converters can exhibit highly nonlinear responses when their parameters are changed, such as bifurcation, quasi-periodic, and chaotic responses. In these cases, it is difficult to predict and control the converter's behavior. This paper explores the nonlinear behaviors of a DC/DC buck converter when its parameters are changed (Load, input voltage etc.). The phase plane and the bifurcation diagram are used to identify the various periodicities of the limit cycles. To address this, a solution based on the Gorilla troop optimizer (GTO) is proposed and simulated in MATLAB. Results demonstrate the use of a Aquila optimizer-based controller design can eliminate nonlinear phenomena in DC/DC converters and provide an efficient and cost-effective solution.

In this paper, based on Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion, the linear control term of washout filter-aided dynamic feedback controller is added to the Morris-Lecar (ML) system to stabilize the bifurcation. We deduce the linear control parameters according to the stability criterion, and the simulation results indicate that the controller is effective to stabilize ML model. In addition, electrical stimulation is selected as an output of the controller, thus it may provide theoretical guidance for clinical diagnosis and therapy of dynamical diseases.

The amount of satellite energy acquired has a direct impact on operational capacities of the satellite. As for practical high functional density microsatellites, solar tracking guidance design of solar panels plays an extremely important role. Targeted at stationary tracking problems incurred in a new system that utilizes panels mounted in the two-dimensional turntable to acquire energies to the greatest extent, a two-dimensional solar tracking stationary guidance method based on feature-based time series was proposed under the constraint of limited satellite attitude coupling control capability. By analyzing solar vector variation characteristics within an orbit period and solar vector changes within the whole life cycle, such a method could be adopted to establish a two-dimensional solar tracking guidance model based on the feature-based time series to realize automatic switching of feature-based time series and stationary guidance under the circumstance of different β angles and the maximum angular velocity control, which was applicable to near-earth orbits of all orbital inclination. It was employed to design a two-dimensional solar tracking stationary guidance system, and a mathematical simulation for guidance performance was carried out in diverse conditions under the background of in-orbit application. The simulation results show that the solar tracking accuracy of two-dimensional stationary guidance reaches 10∘ and below under the integrated constraints, which meet engineering application requirements.

For backward status of a missile guidance device monitoring methods, developed a set of ground monitoring system based on virtual instrument technology. The system meets the standard test of a certain type of missile guidance device, the data acquisition card and controller of PXI bus as the hardware platform, using LabVIEW as the software development platform, The acquisition of analog signal, video signal and serial communication set in one, it can detect the performance and parameters of the guidance device, and monitoring the flight trajectory of the missile qualitatively. A systematic method of determining the design parameter values of two-point mooring (TPM) systems is presented. The conclusions of nonlinear stability analysis of horizontal plane slow motion dynamics of TPM systems with hydrodynamic memory are used to guide selection of the design variables. Specifically, within the stable regions of bifurcation diagram, a set of parameter values is chosen systematically to examine the corresponding TPM system. Then, each TPM system is simulated and the results are evaluated in terms of given criteria such as tension level of the mooring line or offset of the moored vessel. The hydrodynamic memory effect due to the oscillatory motions of moored vessel is included in the formulation. The memory effect influences the stability properties of TPM systems and alters the design chart/bifurcation diagram and particularly the static loss and dynamic loss of stability. The significance of hydrodynamic memory on several TPM systems is illustrated by comparing the statistics of the simulations. The design approach implemented in this work shows that nonlinear stability theory can be used effectively in the actual design process of mooring systems to reduce dramatically the number of simulations required. It is also shown that the often inconclusive nonlinear time simulations can be guided by theoretical nonlinear stability analysis of system dynamics to produce improved design values of system parameters of TPM systems.

The implementation of guidance in two directions is carried out by discussing, conducting questions and answers, providing input and other activities. However, sometimes the guidance process carried out face-to-face experiences many obstacles so the coaching process does not run optimally and it is not as expected. The most common obstacle is when the supervisor is unable to attend the final assignment guidance. Communication barriers between students and supervisors also affect the success of the final assignment. Hence, it is necessary to develop a way to have the obstacles can overcome better. The method used to solve these problems using the system development life cycle method. The solution is currently using sms or online facilities such as email, social media, or the cloud from a third party. With this system, if face-to-face guidance activities are not possible, the process of preparing student final assignments can be carried out in order to be on time for the graduation of students in the institutions.

In order to meet the needs of high-precision guidance for intercepting hypersonic targets, a novel head-pursuit guidance law considering the dynamic characteristics of a missile control system and the target mobility is presented via combining a fast power reaching law with backstepping sliding mode control in this paper. Initially, a three-dimensional head-pursuit system model of the missile and target is established. Subsequently, the system model is decomposed into a pitch plane system and lateral plane system, the control system dynamics are equivalent to second-order systems, and finite-time disturbance observers are introduced to estimate the target accelerations. On the basis of the previous work, the head-pursuit guidance laws of the vertical system and the lateral system which can stabilize the closed-loop system are designed separately and strict proofs of the methods are given. Finally, simulations are carried out to verify the effectiveness of this head-pursuit guidance law.

This study aims to create a Holland-based career guidance and counseling module as a guide in designing career guidance and counseling for high school students in Gorontalo Province. This study uses research and development methods consisting of several steps: defining potentials and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, revision, and product testing. Referring to qualitative research, the data obtained came from expert validation questionnaires and product test questionnaires. This development study eventually created a Holland-based career guidance and counseling module. This module can be used by Guidance and counseling teachers as a career design guide because it has passed the expert validation test from guidance and counseling experts, language experts, and learning media design experts.

Considering the guidance problem of relative motion of missile target without the dynamic characteristics of missile autopilot in the interception planar, non-homogeneous disturbance observer is applied for finite-time estimation with respect to the target maneuvering affecting the guidance performance. Two guidance laws with finite-time convergence are designed by using a fast power rate reaching law and the prescribed sliding variable dynamics. The nonsingular terminal sliding mode surface is selected to improve dynamic characteristics of missile autopilot. Furthermore, the finite-time guidance law with dynamic delay characteristics is designed for the target maneuvering through adopting variable structure dynamic compensation. The simulation results demonstrate that, for different target maneuvering, the proposed guidance laws can restrain the sliding mode chattering problem effectively and make the missile hit the maneuvering target quickly and accurately with condition of corresponding assumptions.
