This research analyzes the determinants of bank profitability by investigating the internal factors that affect the profitability of Islamic banks and conventional banks. It then compares the results from the two types in order to understand how they differ from each other. As previous researchers focus on either Islamic or conventional banks, this research will analyze both by comparing how they are each influenced by profitability factors. Few researches have attempted to compare the profitability of Islamic and conventional banks using a relatively small sample. This research uses a fixed effect panel data analysis on a large sample of 68 banks (42 Islamic and 26 conventional banks) from 13 MENA countries, covering the period of 2006 until 2016. Using several variables, including bank size, equities to assets, loans to assets, deposits to assets, cash to assets and securities to assets, the results show that bank size, equities to assets and deposits to assets have a significant positive effect on Islamic banks’ profitability, while they have a significant negative effect on conventional banks’ profitability; loans to assets and cash to assets have no effect on bank profitability for either Islamic or conventional banks; and securities to assets has a significant negative effect on Islamic banks’ profitability, while it has a significant positive effect on conventional banks’ profitability. The results also show that bank size, equities to assets, deposits to assets and cash to assets contribute more to Islamic banks’ profitability compared to conventional banks, while loans to assets and securities to assets contribute more to conventional banks’ profitability compared to Islamic banks.

Current legislation requires banks to continuously monitor all financial transactions of their customers – both legal entities and individuals. However, despite penalties, in the form of multimillion fines and written warnings most Ukrainian banks do not meet the requirements of the National Bank of Ukraine for development, approval and implementation of internal documents on financial monitoring. The purpose of the article is to summarize the practical experience of the banks in compliance with the policy of risk control of the bank's clients in the financial monitoring system. The sample of this study is 75 Ukrainian banks. The internal documents of existing Ukrainian banks on issues of internal bank financial monitoring were analyzed. The components of the risk control policy of the bank's clients were selected and the information on the completeness of the risk control policy of the bank's clients in the existing banks of Ukraine was summarized. The completeness of the risk-control policy of the bank's clients is determined at thefollowing stages: grouping of components of the risk-control policy of the bank's clients; clustering of Ukrainian banks according to the level of completeness of the bank's clients risk control policy. The method of cluster analysis identified groups of banks for the level of full risk-control of their clients. The four clusters with certain asymmetric distributions in their banks were identified. According to the results of generalization of practical experience of banks in compliance with the risk control policy of the bank's clients in the financial monitoring system, namely internal documents of existing banks on internal financial monitoring, it was found that some banks did not have actually developed internal policies or rules on compliance with the requirements of risk control legislation in the field of financial monitoring.

Researching bank efficiency factors is very challenging. Bearing that in mind, this paper analyzes the financial performance and efficiency of banks in Serbia based on the fuzzy LMAWMARCOS method. The obtained empirical results show that the top five banks are, in order: Banca Intesa, OTP Banka Srbija, Komercijalna banka, Mobi Banka and NLB banka. Badly positioned banks include, in order: MIRABANK, API banka, Srpska banka, 3 BANKA and Addiko Bank. Among other things, the efficiency of banks in Serbia was significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. In order to improve the financial performance and efficiency of banks in Serbia in the future, it is necessary to manage resources (human capital, assets and capital), sales of banking products and profits as efficiently as possible. The digitization of the entire banking business also plays a significant role in this.

This study explores the impacts of bank's diversified operations on their loans, the threshold effect of bank's derivatives trading and the impacts on their financial behaviors are investigated. The results show that there are two separate regime effects for banks in large-sized and medium-sized, and three regime effects for banks in small to medium-sized. Derivatives trading not only make banks easier to diversify their credit risk exposure, but also alter their lending behaviors. As an example of large banks, when banks derivatives’ trading is more than US$61 billion, an increase in banks assets will associate with a corresponding increase in loans to SMEs. If trading in derivatives by the banks is less than the threshold value, the banks will make loans less available to SMEs when there is an increase in banks assets. In addition, when banks are less aggressive in derivatives trading, debt ratio, pre-tax earnings and the SME credit guarantee balance all have significantly positive associations with loans to SMEs.

It is sometimes argued that bigger is better. However, that is not always the case. Smaller, community banks are the lifeline of the towns that span the country. Community banks, where a customer is considered a ‘human being', understand their local target market better than their larger counterparts, where the customer is just a ‘number'. Moreover, the image of the larger banks has been considerably tarnished because of the recent economic downturn. This research can also help community banks compete with larger banks in niche service areas. In order to investigate whether the bank's customers 1) were satisfied with the bank's products and with the image of the bank 2) felt welcome and 3) had any concerns about the bank's (financial) position during difficult economic times, the author found that customer responses are mixed on these issues. Interesting implications and ideas for further research also emanate from the current study.

This article explores the awareness and satisfaction of Islamic bank customers in Malaysia with respect to the banks’ marketing practices and effectiveness which differentiate them from conventional banks. It explores the satisfaction of customers of Islamic banks through the customers’ perception of the quality of the banks’ products and services. This study was conducted in response to pessimistic feedbacks about Islamic banks’ business operations which are not only required to comply with conventional business laws, but also need to give up any business prospects that are against with Shariah (Islamic law). Thus, it is argued that the marketing and advertising strategies of Islamic Banks face restricting guidelines which makes competition with their conventional counterparts (conventional banks) harder. Nevertheless, Islamic banks are strengthening their position by creating greater acceptance of their products among Muslims and Non-Muslims. Based on the descriptive analysis conducted using the data collected from a questionnaire survey of 400 respondents, this study found that a majority of the respondents are already customers of Islamic banks but they are not fully conversant with the principles of Islamic banking. The findings suggest that Islamic banks have to pay greater attention to measuring their marketing effectiveness and customer satisfaction so as to remain relevant in the marketplace.

Why banks should be concerned about incorporating environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria in the lending process? What is the motivation? This study aims to find the motives for considering environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria in bank lending process. A primary survey has been conducted to know the current status and motivation for incorporating ESG factors in investment decisions. Sample comprised 30 private commercial banks (PCBs) operating in Bangladesh. Data collected were analyzed with graphs, descriptive statistics, and regression analysis. Findings of the study indicate that banks are mostly considering basic environmental, social and governance factors set by regulators qualitatively. They are lagging behind in considering the advanced ESG criteria needed for sustainable and efficient credit risk management. Based on motivation for incorporating ESG factors, it was found that banks pioneering in incorporating ESG factors in lending decisions are compensated through better financial performance. Findings of the study are expected to encourage practitioners and policy-makers to take more pragmatic steps to incorporate ESG risk factors quantitatively in lending decision-making process.

Using the CAMEL approach, we also investigate empirically further the financial determinants of banks’ performance regarding FHCs banks and independent banks respectively, and examine whether the financial determinants of banks’ performance differ before and after the financial crisis. Results show that ROA is strongly related to certain CAMEL ratios, such as the total capital ratio, loan loss reserve/gross loans, the burden ratio, and net interest income divided by total assets. Moreover, the positive significant capital adequacy ratio in the post-crisis period in our sample is mainly driven by subordinated banks. Finally, asset quality factor has explaining power for the pre-crisis and post-crisis periods, meaning prevention safety net built predominantly in refraining from external shocks.

In the article - “Assessment of the current state of service quality in Georgian banks” - the quality of customer service by banks “Alpha” and “Beta” is considered from 3 positions according to its individual components. As a rule, the bank's services are studied and evaluated by the bank's management, employees and customers. Each of them has its own evaluation criteria. For this reason, it is very difficult, often impossible, to compare and evaluate the results obtained. This especially applies to the criteria of the bank itself. The article evaluates the service quality of two Georgian banks - "Alpha" and "Beta" banks from the positions of clients and employees, using a 7-point scientific Likert scale. The calculation is carried out by assigning points to individual quality components, and then calculating the integral index of satisfaction based on them. The quality of customer service by the banks involved in the research is estimated as average. Irregularities exist in both banks, however, the service quality of Beta Bank is better than that of Alpha Bank. Businesses make investments in e-business and the technology that supports it. Applications for e-business, like supply chain management and customer relationship management, boost innovative product and service offers, strong customer relationships, and transaction efficiency and scope economies. Companies find it challenging to turn these advantages into revenues or economic value, though. Many enterprises that have started online have failed to generate profits. According to a 2001 AMR Research Inc. survey, businesses would continue to spend more on e- business even in a recession. At best, though, these investments have yielded a mediocre return. Conventional Banking To conduct standard banking functions including cash withdrawals, fund transfers, and account inquiries, clients must physically visit the bank's branch. However, clients using e-banking can complete these transactions 24/7 from the comfort of their homes or workplaces using desktops or laptops and electronic media. We call this banking—anytime, anyplace. Consumers don't need to wait in line, deal with tellers, deal with constrained banking hours—all they need to do is visit the bank's website to examine their account details and do transactions as needed. The Banking System in India Scheduled and non-scheduled banks were distinguished under the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. The Second Schedule of the RBI Act, 1934 lists scheduled banks, which include state co-ops, regional rural banks, and commercial banks (both foreign and Indian). The banks not listed in this schedule are considered non-scheduled. Three types of banks comprise India's organized banking system: co-ops, regional rural banks, and commercial banks. The Reserve Bank of India, the nation's highest monetary and financial body, is in charge of managing the banking sector. Banks for commerce, which have been in place for many years encourage urban savings and make them available to trading and industrial organizations for working capital needs. Commercial banks were divided into public sector banks, sometimes known as nationalized banks, and private sector banks after 1969.

Deposits are like the bloodline for banks as they determine banks' lending capacity and a country's economic savings. However, the existence of a dual banking system poses a challenge to Malaysian Islamic banks competing for deposits. Despite this problem, few investigations were done to comprehensively identify the factors that could help banks attract deposits, particularly for Islamic banks. The purpose of this paper is to fill this gap on deposits of 16 Islamic banks in Malaysia. Secondary data from the bank's annual reports and the Department of Statistics of Malaysia from 2015 to 2019 were analyzed, comprising Islamic Bank Deposits and seven predictors in an empirical model using STATA. The result shows a strong model fit with 92% R squared value that Return on Assets, bank concentration, and Business Enterprise Depositor affect Islamic Bank Deposits positively and significantly while Capital Adequacy Ratio showed negative and significant influence on the deposits. These factors are strongly effective to deposits, significant at 1% level. In contrast, Financing Deposit Ratio and Gross Domestic Product do not significantly influence Islamic deposits. Contrary to economic theory, this study found that an increase in inflation encourages customers to increase their saving deposits in Malaysian Islamic banks. The findings from this study are unique to Malaysian Islamic banks. They indicate important policy implications for Islamic banks practitioners, namely, to increase their focus on business enterprise customers, improve bank's market share and profitability in order to increase deposits while taking advantage of high inflationary period to attract more depositors.

Under the traditional bank credit model, due to financial control and risk considerations, the growth of commercial bank credit scale is limited. Banks often adopt short-term credit strategies and tend to issue guaranteed loans instead of credit loans. In recent years, the development of financial technology in commercial banks has broken the credit resource allocation model of the traditional financial system to a certain extent, which is of great significance for optimizing the credit structure of commercial banks. This paper first analyzes the path of the development of commercial bank financial technology on the adjustment of bank credit structure, and then selects the panel data of 91 commercial banks in China from 2017 to 2021, uses NLP (Natural Language Processing) to construct indicators to measure the level of bank financial technology. Taking commercial banks as the research object, this paper empirically studies the impact of financial technology on the credit structure of commercial banks in China and analyzes the relevant mechanisms. The study found that the increase of the level of financial technology of commercial banks can reduce the bank's non-performing loan ratio, promote the optimization of bank credit structure, increase the loan scale and proportion of credit loans, personal loans, medium and long-term loans. For large commercial banks and small and medium-sized banks, There is a significant difference in the degree of optimization of the credit structure. On the other hand, the adjustment of bank credit structure has brought more customers into the scope of loan business, which has promoted the continuous improvement of the bank's profitability.

Data for the study was collected from the audited annual reports of the eight banks. The study applied the discriminant (Z-score) technique and regression analysis to scrutinize the effect of Capital Adequacy, Assets Quality, Management Quality, Earnings Quality, And Liquidity Efficiency (CAMEL) variables on the bank's financial health conditions. The discriminant analysis revealed that 5 banks, i.e. (62.5%) of the banks investigated, may fall into distress status shortly if adequate measures are not applied. In comparison, only 3 banks (37.5%) are financially sound. The study reveals that CAMEL indicators significantly predict bank financial health in Nigeria. However, whilst capital adequacy (CA) and liquidity sufficiency are insignificant predictors of a bank's financial health, assets quality, management quality, and earnings quality significantly predict the bank ‘s financial health in Nigeria. The pivotal role of banks in Nigeria’s economy requires that the findings of this study should not be downplayed. Thus, bank managers should focus on managing their CAMEL indicators to avoid distress. Supervisory authorities should also intensify surveillance by conducting a CAMEL analysis of banks annually to reduce corporate failure incidences and positively reposition Nigeria's economy.

Banking institutions, nowadays, serve as intermediaries of funds to a variety of clients, including the micro enterprisers. This study analyzes and measures the performance of rural and thrift banks with microfinance operations in the Philippines, using combined measures of data envelopment analysis and traditional financial performance indicators. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) method is employed to measure the productive efficiency of these banks under the production approach. The variable returns to scale is also used, with the assumption that not all banks are operating at optimal scale over the long-run period. DEA findings reveal that sample banks performed below the production frontier. The average technical efficiency score of these banks is 66.09% and additional 33.91% is needed to reach the production frontier. Overall, thrift banks are found to be more productively efficient than rural banks as depository banks. The authors have also found a strong relationship between financial performance measures and bank's productive efficiency. For thrift banks, sustainability, ROE and ROA measures showed a statistically significant positive correlation to the banks' productive efficiency while a negative relationship was observed in rural banks. Lastly, the authors can suggest that both DEA's productive efficiency and financial performance measures are consistently and strongly correlated when evaluating the overall performance of banks with microfinance operations.

Studying the function of banks is crucial because their vigorous role in the economy seems to be a subject of immense importance. In the present study, we analyze and study the role of whole banks, commercial banks and specialized banks between 2002 and 2012 in Isfahan, based on the growth of value added approach in the industrial sector. In order to investigate this matter, we have estimated three extinction panels for the whole banking system, specialized banks and commercial banks in Eviews 9. Based on the results it can be argued that in the panels of whole banks and specialized banks, payment facilities have a positive and meaningful impact on the growth of value added in all three sectors of the economy, but in the panel of commercial banks, only banking facilities on a 10 percent level have a positive and meaningful impact on the growth of value added in the industrial sector. As a result, we can conclude that specializing the bank's activities can have a positive effect on the growth of value added in various sectors of the economy.

Introduction. Existing economic and managing ways to ensure the financial and economic security of banks in Ukraine are not always reliable tools, because its mostly relate to certain aspects of the bank's activities, rather than the bank as a whole open dynamic dynamic system. According to the system approach, the basis of security of such systems is the bank's compliance with stability and dynamic balance. In this case, the stability should be considered in three aspects – the stability of the trajectory of development, the stability of the attractor and structural stability. The purpose of the study is the theoretical justification and development of practical recommendations for the building an effective system of financial and economic security management of banks considering the risks in its activities. Method (methodology). The methodological basis of the study is a systematic approach, methods of analysis and synthesis, theoretical and logical generalisations and hypotheses, economic and mathematical methods. Results. It was justified the expediency of using an integrated model of financial and economic security management of banks, which is based on an effective risk management system and provides a systematic process of risk identification, measurement, monitoring, control, reporting and appropriate regulation at all organizational levels. The proposed integrated model should include such basic components as: assessment of the existing security potential of the bank; adaptive (stabilizing) mechanism; obtaining a synergistic effect. The building of an effective system for managing the financial and economic security of banks is impossible without high-quality diagnostics and constant monitoring of the security potential of banks. A summary indicator has been developed to assess the potential of financial security of banks assessment, which is calculated on the basis of risk and the available potential of the bank's strength. It is proposed to use early warning signals that consider the dynamics and variability of liquidity and performance of banks. Experimental testing of the proposed instruments was carried out according to the financial statements of banks. The article reveals the essence of financial and economic security of banks and identifies components of the mechanism of bank security management. Developed conceptual approaches involve the use of preventive methods to prevent threats to the security of banks.

This study focuses on checking for the existence and strength of the market discipline based on different ownership structures of the banks. First, this article determines if depositors react rationally to risk levels depending on the bank's ownership type, and second, if the strength of this responsiveness differs depending on the bank's ownership type. This study is based on 38 banks in the Indian banking sector. Empirical testing is carried out using panel data analysis and various proxies to assess the riskiness of the banks. The analysis shows that market discipline exists regardless of the kind of ownership. However, its strength varies across different ownership structures of the banks. These findings are crucial for the orderly functioning of the banking system so that the bank managers do not take advantage of the market perception based on their state ownership.

The research evaluates the activity of using digital banking in components of the marketing mix of Ukrainian banks, such as «product», «place», «promotion», and «price». The developed methodological approach is based on the analysis of traditional bank's marketing mix elements and their innovative components, mainly digital banking. It has been established that banks, offering a generally standard set of primary products, introduce product innovations quite unevenly. According to the «place» component of the marketing mix, it has been noted that the pace of traditional marketing replacement by banking innovations marketing is slow. Regarding the «promotion» component of the marketing mix, the distribution of the indicators of the bank's activity in the use of social networks is uneven. Facebook is more used than Instagram, and not all banks use YouTube's capabilities. Banks are market leaders that use social networks and the Internet most actively.

Minimal research to date has examined whether and how corruption and diversification influence the asset quality of Islamic banks from the agency perspective. The study aims to fill this research gap using a sample of 155 banks (28 Islamic banks and 127 conventional banks) in three Asian countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, and Pakistan) from 2006 to 2012. Estimation of the dynamic panel data model reveals that corruption negatively affects the asset quality of Islamic banks whereas conventional banks see no such effect. Corruption also proves to strengthen (weaken) any negative (positive) effect of diversification on the asset quality of Islamic banks, in particular. Furthermore, the modifying effect of corruption is particularly found in more corrupt countries (Indonesia and Pakistan) as opposed to a less corrupt country (Malaysia). Overall, results suggest that banks should engage in diversification moderately because diversification’s negative effect can overpower its positive effect. In addition, Islamic banks and particularly small ones should watch out for the negative effect of corruption because these banks’ asset quality is more influenced by corruption than other banks. Furthermore, it is crucial for policymakers to effectively control corruption to maximize the asset quality of banks for better financial stability of the banking sector. This is especially true for Islamic banks because they are more likely to incur higher agency costs as opposed to conventional banks.

This paper assesses the determinants of the lending of six commercial banks in Tanzania from 2015 to 2019 using a quantitative research design. The data were collected from Annual Reports of the six commercial banks. The results show that liquidity and capital adequacies have a significant relationship with lending, whereas interest rate and management efficiency have no statistically significant influence on lending. Thus, effective policies should be developed to ensure commercial banks grow and be able to advance more credit. Additionally, the banking sector needs to prioritize increasing the liquidity ratio to ultimately strengthen the bank's financial position. Furthermore, commercial banks should be more innovative in their lending since different sectors present different risk profiles. Lastly, Commercial banks management needs to employ capital growth strategies to enhance the banks’ capital conservation buffer that requires banks to build up extra buffers outside periods of stress.

Recent studies have shown that variables used to explain capital structure of non financial firms, such as size, profit, leverage, liquidity and risk, could also be helpful in understanding banks’ capital structure. This paper aims to evaluate the impact of bank-dimensional and environmental factors on bank’s capital adequacy ratio in South Eastern European (SEE) region. Size, profitability (ROA), leverage, liquidity, net interest margin (NIM), and risk are used as bank-dimensional explanatory variables in a feasible GLS regression model. On the other hand, economic growth rate, inflation, real interest rate, Eurozone stock market volatility index, deposit insurance coverage, and governance indicator are added to the original model to control for environmental factors. Annual data from 71 commercial banks belong to 10 different countries in SEE region for the period of 2007 – 2012 is used. This region mainly consists of the “transition economies” which are still experiencing the difficulties of turning into efficient market economies with high economic potentials. The results of our study show that among the bank dimensional explanatory variables size, ROA, leverage, liquidity, net interest margin and risk have statistically significant effects in determining CAR for the banks in the region. Among the environmental factors, economic growth rate, Eurozone stock market volatility index, deposit insurance coverage, and governance have statistically significant effects in determining CAR for the banks in the SEE region.

This paper investigates the challenges faced by Islamic banks in practicing Mudarabah financing under conventional regulatory regime by interviewing eleven Islamic bank managers from three selected banks. Thematic data analysis was employed to understand hindrances for Islamic banks in operating Mudarabah financing under conventional regulatory regime. Findings of the study have provided a number of major challenges that hinder Islamic banks performance in Tanzanian context. The challenges include irregularities of policies and regulations, non-supportive operational and technical structure, and missed perceptions of Mudarabah among the public. However, a new challenge of the impact of the central bank on Islamic banks was identified. It is expected that Tanzanian Islamic banking performance will enhance if the central bank introduces sharia regulations for Islamic banking, initiates the central sharia supervisory board, and harmonize country regulations with financial regulations regarding Islamic perspectives.

Regulators use on-site and off-‎site monitoring tools to assess a bank's financial stability. The CAMELS rating ‎system encourages transparency, evolution, and change in all financial ‎institutions. Furthermore, this method identifies the structural strengths and ‎weaknesses of financial organizations. This study conducts a comparative analysis ‎of Islamic and conventional banks in Qatar using the CAMELS rating scale from ‎‎2015 to 2020. AbstractA key observation of the endogenous money theory is that banks create deposits (money) by lending. This means that banks apparently face soft budget constraint in responding to demand for credit. However, there are several limiting factors, which can make the banks' money creation somewhat constrained, and can thus harden their budget constraint. Such factors include the need to preserve banks' profitability and the bank regulations (the capital and liquidity requirements). Previous literature on soft budget constraint (SBC) in banking mentioned government bailouts, central banks lender-of-last-resort policies, or the poorly informed depositors who over-finance banks, as reasons for the SBC for banks. Taking the endogenous money theory as a starting point, we use a different approach. We analyze whether the tools that aimed to keep the bank's budget constrain hard are appropriate for this purpose. Our analysis, as well as lessons from several recent bank crisis episodes suggest, that under current banking regulation SBC is an inherent feature of banking.

Macroeconomic factors can be said to have a relationship with the financial performance of banks, both conventional banks and Islamic banks. The condition of the banking sector in East Java is very vulnerable to economic shocks that occur. So it requires a very independent and good liquidity management. The existing banking sector is still very dependent on the policies made by the central bank and the government. Then if there is a financial difficulty caused by unfavorable macroeconomic conditions, then the bank's financial performance may also be disrupted. Based on the analysis of data that has been explained that macroeconomic factors such as GRDP, inflation rate, unemployment rate, BI Rate and exchange rate, which have a very large relationship to the performance of conventional banks and Islamic banks in East Java is the BI rate. The main objective of this paper is to give an overview of comparative financial performance of Islamic banks with conventional banks based on the CAMEL method. The main question would be answered to know there is difference in the performance of conventional banking and Islamic banking are analyzed by using the ratio CAMEL. To prove the hypothesis that there is no significant difference between the bank's financial performance Islamic and conventional banks (Ho) or there are significant differences between the financial performance of Islamic banks and conventional banks (Hi). Researchers used a parametric statistical technique, which consists of test data normality using the Kolmogorov Smirnov test and QQ plots, test of homogeneity using the F test (Levene's Test), and Independent Sample T-Test with significant value 5% confidence level (1 - α) = 95%. The results showed that the ratio of data CAMEL Islamic banks and conventional banks in normal distribution and homogeneous. Then it can be concluded that the variable CAR, NPL, and LDR between conventional banks and Islamic banks have significant differences, while the ROA and ROE of the two types of banking industry is not significantly different or relatively the same.

Streszczenie:
Banks as financial institutions need to maintain their performance in order to operate optimally. Moreover, Islamic banks must compete with conventional banks which are dominant and growing rapidly in Indonesia. This increasingly sharp and tight competition must be accompanied by good and orderly management in order to survive in the banking industry for a long time. One of the factors that must be considered by a bank in order to survive is the bank's financial performance. Comparison of the financial performance of conventional banks and Islamic banks is carried out using financial ratios in the form of the dependent variable ROA and the independent variables CAR, NPL/NPF, LDR/FDR taken from annual reports for the 2011-2020 periods. The analysis technique used panel regression. The result obtained is that there is a significant difference in the level of bank soundness between conventional banks and Islamic banks. Based on a comparison of financial ratio analysis, the financial performance of conventional banks is better in terms of the LDR/FDR ratio, while the financial performance of Islamic banks is better in terms of CAR and NPL/NPF ratios.
