The Ultimatum Game is a methodology of the Game Theory that intends to investigate the individuals cooperative behavior in situations of resources division. Studies have shown that half of the subjects don?t accept unfair division of resources, and prefer to bear a momentary cost to revenge the deceivers. However, people who have assertiveness impairment, such as social phobic individuals, could have some difficulties to reject unfair offer division resource, especially in situations that cause over anxiety, like being in the presence of an individual considered to be in a high hierarchical level. A negative perception about his own worth can also make the person thinks that he does not deserve a fair division. These individuals also have a strong desire to convey a positive impression to the others, which could cause them to be more generous in a resource division. The aim of this study was to verify, through the Ultimatum Game, if social anxiety individuals would accept more high confederate?s unfair offers that low confederate?s unfair offers; and if they would be more generous in goods division, in the same game, when compared to individuals without social anxiety. Ninety-five (95) college students participated in this study answering the Social Phobia Inventory, the Factorial Scale of Extroversion, socio-demographic questionnaire, situational anxiety scale and, finally, the Ultimatum Game in four rounds (1st and 3rd ? confederate representing high or low ranking using an unfair proposal; 2nd ? confederate without social status using fair proposal; 4th ? subject?s research proposes the offer). The results showed a significant negative correlation between social anxiety and haughtiness, and social anxiety and assertiveness, and a significant positive correlation between social anxiety and situational anxiety. There was no significant difference in situational anxiety due to the status for anxious individuals. Also we found no significant difference in the amount of donated goods, showing that generous behavior does not differ between groups. Finally, the social status did not influence the decision in response to the game for anxious individuals. These results corroborate to other studies that show the relationship between social anxiety and assertiveness, and social anxiety and negative self-perception capability and value (low haughtiness). As show the results of situational anxiety scale, the high status stimulus was not perceived as threatening to the individual, which may have affected his answer in the game. The results for the Ultimatum Game follow the same direction as the acceptance rate for unfair proposals (approximately 50%) in studies with non-clinical sample.

Pełny tekst źródłaThe global economic environment is marked by a huge set of competitive forces and streams of transformation. Thus, it is essential that organizations innovate. Despite witnessing a cultural change within organizations, the Portuguese framework has never been very valuable in innovation. Motivated by social, political and cultural circumstances, organizations and their managers have always viewed innovation as expensive and high risk. However, this is an old paradigm, today organizations see innovation as essential. In order to minimize the potential risk of an innovation that is not suited to the market or to mitigate the current expense of an innovation process, they adopted a more open paradigm, enhancing relations and interactions with the various economic agents. Through a case study to Altice, the present work aims to clarify how the integration of the customer in the innovation process is carried out. Based on this problem, several studies were carried out on customer integration as a fundamental part of the innovation process. However, those who evaluate and reveal the existing obstacles to customer integration in the innovation process are reduced. This study aims to assess what these barriers are and how Altice overcomes them. Although the present study is based on a single case study, it reveals, through a qualitative methodology, a solid connection to the client by the company, showing little friction in the innovation process.

Pełny tekst źródłaThe present work is a study carried out as part of an internship done at Altice Labs. The internship was done between October 2017 and May 2018. The research focuses on the organizational culture of Altice Labs and on the environment – whether it is conducive or not to innovation. In order to research these concepts in Altice Labs, a focus group (group interview) with six elements of Altice Labs (representing the different departments and functions in the company - from the technical part to the commercial part) was performed. After this interaction, a questionnaire was then made out, and distributed among 476 Altice Labs employees. The questionnaire was optional and 48 valid answers were obtained. In fact, the age of survey respondents leads to different perspectives on managers and whether or not they accept innovation, as the results of the chi-square test of association performed indicate. Therefore, younger Altice Labs employees prefer a different type of manager, more open to innovation. On the other hand, the company is seen as having an environment conducive to innovation, above what is expected for other companies in Portugal. There is, however, room for improvement. One of the measures would be to implement sources of extrinsic motivation (for example, monetary awards for the innovation produced). The literature tells us, however, that such a measure tends to reduce the output of innovation. Another measure that has been suggested is to act on the employees' intrinsic motivation - having it been suggested to recognize the most innovative collaborators with symbolic prizes (for example, certificates). This measure, according to the literature, does indeed have positive effects in terms of innovation and should therefore be implemented. Altice Labs has revealed itself as being a firm focused on innovation – with a lot of experience and with a record of success. This experience may indicate, as referred to above, a need to have financial prizes as a way to encourage the reaching of higher levels of innovation output, despite the literature suggesting the opposite. In Portugal there is a culture based on harmony and this desire to reward the best may indicate a change occurring towards a more meritocratic culture. Additionally, it is relevant to state that the success of the firm limits its innovation output, according to the focus group participants, as the firm focuses on what sells instead of on disruptive or more radical innovation. Finally, the firm has no problem in cannibalizing its products, as much as with other successful technological firms, they will launch new products even if they have other successful products in the market at that stage in time which will thus be superseded.

Following the conclusion of a master’s degree in Information Security and its final dissertation, Altice Portugal proposed the present project. It consisted in the integration of Microsoft cloud platforms security alerts – Azure and Office 365 – in the IBM QRadar, CyberSOC’s (Altice Portugal’s Security Operations Center) SIEM (Security Information Event Management) system. The first step was to study the technologies to use and its logs. With this, it was possible to define a series of different approaches to implement the final solution. Secondly, was the use of the Azure system’s potentialities and products, with great emphasis on its SIEM – Azure Sentinel – that turned out to be the brain of the operation, being responsible for the configuration and detection of incidents for which it would then emit an alert. The other Azure solutions were used with the intent of developing a solid, and fast pipeline for processing and then sending these alerts from Microsoft Azure to Altice’s intranet. One might say that the solution was, to a certain level, successfully enforced, considering that it allows the alerts to be viewed on the QRadar Console in an easy and comprehensive way, provided by a fast execution pipeline – an important aspect in this type of solutions. However, due to lack of time, it was not possible to develop correlation between the new alerts and the data sources previously configured in QRadar, that would allow to take advantage of more potential of a SIEM system beyond, the visualization of these alerts. Since this objective was not achieved, it is part of this project’s future work. This work allowed, therefore, CyberSOC to have an enhanced monitoring and analysis panorama and the possibility of exploring the capabilities of the Microsoft cloud and its computing resources, now in a safer way. The remaining document is written in Portuguese.

Pełny tekst źródłaWith the increasing digital transformation and the proliferation of digital devices, it is extremely important to create simple, intuitive, usable and appealing products and services that provide users a positive and enriching experience, allowing to build strategies that promote user loyalty. The need for following this reality and rhythm of change reveals special care on communication effort. Human-computer interaction is one of the stanchions of communication. User research, interaction design, and user experience (UX) are some of the tools that help developing products and services that enable users to achieve their goals successfully. For this reason, although there are still products with interaction problems, including users in the development process, understanding their needs, difficulties and expectations, makes it possible to create more consistent and pleasant interactions and not just better products and services, but also ones that are perceived as more personal to users, more of their own. The goal of user-centered design (UCD) is to create engaging and efficient experiences. To that end, there are several methodologies, methods and techniques that focus on understanding user behaviors and motivations. The purpose of this research is completing a survey of varied methodological approaches supported in UCD and UX methods and techniques, as well as elaborating an heuristic proposal (set of principles and guidelines based on empirical experience) supported on Service Design Thinking that can be validated in co -design in Altice Labs business ecosystem. As a result, a strategic vision is presented for the Service Fulfillment product, including personality definition. According to feedback gathered from stakeholders and the U&UX team, the implemented UX process brings value to the product as it allows developing a unified and coherent vision. It is useful and encourages alignment, sustaining a working model different from the traditional one. At the same time, it allows the creating guidelines for product evolution, so that it can provide the best experience to its users.

Gomes, Marta Raquel Lopes. Master's thesis, 2018. http://hdl.handle.net/10773/24462.
Pełny tekst źródłaNowadays, the effective communication of a brand, trough digital platforms, is a constant challenge to all the marketing professionals. After the rebranding, tools such as e-mail marketing, products’ microsites and social networks are essential platforms to continue all the process of digital communication. Thus, the present research aims to understand what is the image, that the clients/subscribers, have from the brand Altice Labs, and if the magazine InnovAction impact the recognition of the brand. Besides that, the current research, aims to understand how the company communicates its products after the rebranding from PT Inovação to Altice Labs. To answer this challenge, 7 products of the company were analysed, being InnovAction the focus of the research. The communication of the product trough the e-mail marketing platform, microsite and social networks were studied. The results obtained allowed the identification of a set of good practices to improve the product communication performance, of the brand Altice Labs. Despite Altice Labs rebranding, there is a clear recognition of the brand value by its clients and subscribers, being InnovAction an important asset. From the present study, it was concluded that the length of the campaign sent by e-mail marketing is crucial for the campaign results, and that it should be adjusted to the goal of the e-mail marketing. Events associated to the product are another factor identified as results’ influencer.

Master's thesis, 2021. http://hdl.handle.net/10773/32435.
Pełny tekst źródłaThe product to be explored in the scope of this dissertation: dashboards transversal module which has as its main function to streamline the monitoring and analysis of the network and services status that is performed by network operation central offices (NOC) operators. Although there is already a Design System conceived for a set of products (NOSSIS One) of which this module is part, and that it has derived from a complex and consolidated UX design process, the UX Writing area was not the target of any strategy, which is a problematic issue. In this sense, this dissertation aims to contribute to the development of a Design Language System, endowed with a set of principles, guidelines and best practices, supported by UX Writing methods and techniques, to be validated in the dashboards transversal module. For this purpose, a sample of participants with distinct profiles (stakeholders, customers and dashboard tool users) was assembled. These participants were interviewed through techniques based on hybrid development and validation strategies such as co-design and user-centered design. The effective contribution of this dissertation will then be the creation of a chapter of content style guide to be included in the design system already existing, containing guidelines capable of creating appealing visual narratives, which facilitate daily user experience of professionals from NOC centres in their work tasks, which are desired to be agile, thus overcoming the problematic mentioned above.

Silva, João Henrique. "Gamification for all em ambiente multi-tenant: o caso das plataformas Campus by fundação Altice e miOne". Master's thesis, 2021. http://hdl.handle.net/10773/31631.
Pełny tekst źródłaCampus is a multi-tenant technology that supports multiple platforms, characterized by enabling the creation and dynamization of online communities, among which is Campus by Fundação Altice and the miOne platform. Although they are part of the same technology, they have different objectives and target audiences. Despite offering a comprehensive set of utility tools and content, both face the challenge of growing their network of users and remain sustainable. Games, as hedonic systems, are intended for the pleasure of their players rather than having a concrete outcome of the use. Its game design process is focused on the user’s motivations and engagement and, due to its success, game components and techniques started to be used in contexts other than entertainment. This phenomenon is called gamification. Within the scope of this investigation, a dynamic gamification strategy was developed in the Campus multi-tenant environment in order to meet the specific needs of each platform and its respective online communities. For this, the development research methodology was applied, and the final result was evaluated through a convenience sample involving the target audience of the two platforms. The investigation process was guided through the different stages: analysis and assessment of the situation, design and realization of the model, implementation and evaluation. The application of the developed strategy was applied and evaluated through its integration in the Campus by Fundação Altice and miOne platforms, over several sessions, where five users of each platform were able to experience the different functionalities developed. It was found that the developed solution is capable of supporting different platforms, and that users followed the various stimulus of the implemented strategy with satisfaction and motivation.

Pełny tekst źródłaIntroduction: The importance of social responsibility in companies has increased in recent years and is currently one of their main strategic concerns. The Agenda2030 proposes 17 SDGs with the following dimensions: social, economic and environmental. For Altice Portugal, sustainability and social responsibility are the contribution of its business activities for the economic and social progress of the community, considering the impact on the environment and promoting stable relations with its stakeholders. Purpose: To evaluate the perception of Altice employees about Social Responsibility, in its internal and external dimension. Methods: Interviews were conducted with seven employees of the company Altice to collect their sociodemographic data and subsequently were applied six questions corresponding to the topic. The answers given to each question were grouped to allow a direct comparison to the statements made by each interviewee for each specific question. After analyzing each question, a synthesis of the existing agreement between employees was made. Results: Employees defined social responsibility guidelines at the strategic level, transmitting values in the community and promoting happiness and well-being as good CSR practices. Internally, they understand that health, formation and family are company goals, and externally, education, equality and culture. Everyone considered that the values are transmitted to them, and everyone recognized the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and their identification in their actions. There is a consensus on their benefit regarding the company-consumer relationship. Conclusion: Employees are aware of both internal and external social responsibility and are aware of the actions that Altice claims to practice in its Sustainability Report. Employees considered Altice Portugal to be a Socially Responsible company
