Streszczenie:
Upscaling sustainable intensification (SI) technologies is crucial to enhancing the resilience of fragile farming systems and vulnerable livelihoods of smallholder farmers. It is also critical to shape the future land-use and land-cover changes in a region. Zero-tillage potato cultivation (ZTPC), introduced as an SI intervention in parts of the Indian Sundarbans, has demonstrated promises of rapid upscaling, and thus, changes in the seasonal land-use pattern in the region. This study aims to understand the socioecological complexity of farming systems to comprehend how the nascent stage of ZTPC thrives at the farm level and what preconditions are necessary to upscale them. The objectives are to analyse the farm resource recycling pattern in ZTPC, and map and simulate its system’s complexity to strategize ZTPC upscaling in the region. The analysis of farm resource recycling data reveals that ZTPC stability hinges on managing trade-offs in resource allocations, specifically involving straw, organic manure, sweet water, and family labour. The decision to manage such trade-offs depends on farm type characterizations by their landholdings, distance from the homestead, pond, and cattle ownership, competing crops, and family composition. Using a semiquantitative systems model developed through fuzzy cognitive mapping, the study underscores the significance of effective training, input support, enterprise diversification by introducing livestock, timely tuber supply, access to critical irrigation, and capacity building of local institutions as the essential preconditions to sustain and upscale ZTPC. This research contributes a systems perspective to predict agricultural land use within technology transfer initiatives, providing insights into how farm- and extra-farm factors influence resource allocations for ZTPC. Public extension offices must understand the trade-offs associated with straw, organic matter, and harvested water and design differentiated supports for different farm types. The most compelling interventions to upscale ZTPC includes farm diversification by introducing livestock through institutional convergence, pragmatic agroforestry initiatives to enhance on-farm biomass and fuel production, building awareness and integrating alternative energy use to save straw and cow dung, building social capital to ensure access to sweet irrigation water, and developing and/or strengthening farmer collectives to ensure the supply of quality tuber and marketing of farm produce.

This study aims to investigate the effects of different solvents (isopropanol, benzene, and toluene) on the synthesis of carbon-modified TiO2/H-ZSM-5 composites. Carbon-modified TiO2/H-ZSM-5 composites were characterized by FTIR, XRD, and SEM. XRD analysis revealed that the TiO2 peaks at 2 = 25.3, 37.8, and 48.2° had distinct characteristics. FTIR analysis revealed that I-ZTC, B-ZTC, and T-ZTC had comparable absorption bands to ZSM-5 at 3464, 1639, 1222, 1097, and 545 cm-1, respectively. Additionally, the FTIR data revealed that I-ZTC, B-ZTC, and T-ZTC all display absorption bands around the wavenumber 450 cm-1, indicating the Ti-O bond's stretching vibration. Additionally, SEM-EDX analysis revealed that Ti was more evenly distributed on the surface of T-ZTC than on the surfaces of B-ZTC and I-ZTC. It was shown that the solvent's polarity has an effect on TiO2 dispersion. A less polar solvent disperses TiO2 more effectively. In terms of TiO2 dispersion, toluene was the preferable solvent for the production of carbon-modified TiO2/H-ZSM-5.

Streszczenie:
Composites of metal-organic frameworks and carbon materials have been suggested to be effective materials for the decomposition of chemical warfare agents. In this study, we synthesized UiO-66-NH2/zeolite-templated carbon (ZTC) composites for the adsorption and decomposition of the nerve agents sarin and soman. UiO-66-NH2/ZTC composites with good dispersion were prepared via a solvothermal method. Characterization studies showed that the composites had higher specific surface areas than pristine UiO-66-NH2, with broad pore size distributions centered at 1–2 nm. Owing to their porous nature, the UiO-66-NH2/ZTC composites could adsorb more water at 80% relative humidity. Among the UiO-66-NH2/ZTC composites, U0.8Z0.2 showed the best degradation performance. Characterization and gas adsorption studies revealed that beta-ZTC in U0.8Z0.2 provided additional adsorption and degradation sites for nerve agents. Among the investigated materials, including the pristine materials, U0.8Z0.2 also exhibited the best protection performance against the nerve agents. These results demonstrate that U0.8Z0.2 has the optimal composition for exploiting the degradation performance of pristine UiO-66-NH2 and the adsorption performance of pristine beta-ZTC.

Streszczenie:
The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is an innovative area of interest in modern mobility that is rapidly evolving while facing complex challenges. Traditional IoV networks are susceptible to intrusion threats, which can lead to data leakage and seizure of vehicle control by attackers, thereby endangering vehicle users’ privacy and personal safety. An Attribute and User Trust Score-based Zero Trust Access Control Model (AU-ZTAC) is proposed, combining the zero-trust and attribute-based access control models to meet network protection requirements while achieving fine-grained dynamic access control and incorporating trust evaluation in the access control process to better reflect users’ intent. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of trust assessment through the proposed model. A comparison with the classical schemes illustrates that AU-ZTAC allows for more flexible and fine-grained access control in complex access control environments while improving IoV security.

Purpose: This study reports the clinical effects of [Formula: see text]-shaped titanium cages (ReBorn Essence Z-Brace cages) and compares the clinical outcomes between [Formula: see text]-shaped titanium cages (ZTC group) and polyetheretherketone cages (PEEK cages, PK group) for the application in transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF). Methods: A retrospective and case control study with six patients using PEEK cages and four patients using ZTC was conducted. All patients underwent TLIF and had a 3-month follow-up. The Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and Visual Analog Scale (VAS) were selected to assess the pain of low back and neurological status. The intervertebral disc height (DH) and segmental angle (SA) were also measured to estimate the radiological changes. At the 3-month follow-up, the fusion and subsidence rates were evaluated. Results: There was no significant difference between the two groups regarding the ODI and VAS scores. At the 3-month follow-up, the subsidence rates were 42% and 0% for the PK and ZTC groups, respectively; the bony fusion rates were 67% and 100% for the PK and ZTC groups, respectively. Conclusion: The study has indicated that both PEEK and [Formula: see text]-shaped titanium cages can be effective options used to treat degenerative disc disease (DDD). Moreover, the higher fusion and lower subsidence rates have revealed that [Formula: see text]-shaped titanium cages may be a better choice compared to PEEK cages for lumbar reconstruction after TLIF.

This paper reports the adsorption ability of banana pith activated carbon, with ZnCl2 as the porogen, towards carbaryl (1-naphthyl- N-methylcarbamate) from aqueous solution. The pH-edge experiments revealed that carbaryl adsorption onto ZnCl2-treated banana pith activated carbon (ZTC) was a pH-dependent process with maximum adsorption occurring at pH 11. The adsorption isotherm obtained at pH 11 revealed that ZTC possessed a maximum adsorption capacity of 45.9 mg/g. The adsorption isotherms were well described by the Langmuir and Freundlich models. The kinetic data obtained at different initial carbaryl concentrations were modelled using pseudo-first- and -second-order models. Acetone successfully desorbed carbaryl with a 99.8% elution efficiency.

Streszczenie:
The zero temperature coefficient (ZTC) is investigated by three-dimensional numerical simulations in the Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (MOS) Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) with the ellipsoidal (EM) and conventional rectangular gate geometries (CM), considering the same channel widths (W), gate areas (Ag) and bias condition (BC). In this work an improved simple model which predicts the ZTC point taking into account only the mobility degradation factor (c) and threshold voltage (Vth) parameters as function of temperature is proposed in the linear and saturation operation regions. The analysis takes into account the temperature variations of the threshold voltage and the mobility degradation factor. Although simple, the model predictions present a good agreement with the numerical simulations results.

Bisphenol A is a remarkable chemical compound as it has many applications, mainly in the plastics industry, but it also has toxic effects on the environment and human health. This article presents a comparative study regarding the adsorption of BPA on Active carbon and zeolitic tuff, ZTC. In this paper, the characterization of the zeolitic tuff, adsorbent, was carried out from an elemental and mineralogical point of view, and it noted the pore size and elemental distribution, using SEM, EDAX, and XRD analysis. The pore size varies from 30 nm to 10 µm, the atomic ratio is Si/Al ≥ 4, and 80% of the mineralogical composition represents Ca Clinoptilolite zeolites and Ca Clinoptilolite zeolites ((Na1.32K1.28Ca1.72Mg0.52) (Al6.77Si29.23O72)(H2O)26.84). Moreover, a comparative study of the adsorption capacity of bisphenol A, using synthetic solutions on an activated carbon type—Norit GAC 830 W, GAC—as well as on Clinoptilolite-type zeolitic tuff—ZTC, was carried out. The experiments were carried out at a temperature of 20 °C, a pH of 4.11, 6.98, and 8.12, and the ionic strength was assured using 0.01 M and 0.1 M of KCl. The adsorption capacities of GAC and ZTC were 115 mg/g and 50 mg/g, respectively, at an 8.12 pH, and an ionic strength of 0 M. The Langmuir mathematical model best describes the adsorption equilibrium of BPA. The maximum adsorption capacity for both adsorbents increased with an increasing pH, and it decreased with increasing ionic strength.

Streszczenie:
In this paper a self-biased current reference based on Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) Zero Temperature Coefficient (ZTC) condition is proposed. It can be implemented in any Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) fabrication process and provides another alternative to design current references. In order to support the circuit design, ZTC condition is analyzed using a MOSFET model that is continuous from weak to strong inversion, showing that this condition always occurs from moderate to strong inversion in any CMOS process. The proposed topology was designed in a 180 nm process, operates with a supply voltage from 1.4V to 1.8 V and occupies around 0.010mm2 of silicon area. From circuit simulations our reference showed a temperature coefficient (TC) of 15 ppm/oC from -40 to +85oC, and a fabrication process sensitivity of σ/μ = 4.5% for the current reference, including average process and local mismatch variability analysis. The simulated power supply sensitivity is estimated around 1%/V.

The subject for this thesis is to dissect the enzymatic pathway allowing a non-canonical base 2-aminoadenine, or diaminopurine (Z) to replace adenine (A) in the genomes of a number of Siphoviridae bacteriophages. 2-aminoadenine and thymine (T) form the Z:T pair bound by fully saturated triple hydrogen bond. Together with the standard G:C pair they form ZTGC-DNA which is resistant to host’s restriction enzymes. I first focus on cyanophage S-2L, the originally-described bearer of 2-aminoadenine. I identify a DNA primase-polymerase, PrimPol, responsible for its replication, with surprisingly similar activity towards dATP and dZTP. This prompted the characterization of a dATP-specific triphosphatase, DatZ. Its activity and conservation between the phages of interest explains the mechanism behind adenine removal. Secondly, I find that PurZ of phage S-2L’s, a key enzyme in diaminopurine production, is not only an ATPase but also a dATPase. I identify a nucleotide pyrophosphatase, MazZ, as an essential component of the conserved Z biosynthetic pathway, that converts dGTP into dGMP, thus generating one of the substrates of PurZ. High resolution crystallographic structures of all 4 enzymes with their respective ligands explain the specificities observed in catalytic tests - or lack thereof. Finally, I characterized the structure of a Z-specific family A DNA polymerase, PolZ, found in a related vibriophage φVC8 but absent in S-2L. Its crystallographic structure in polymerase-exonuclease “coupled-open” and “coupled-close” states offers an explanation for the observed specificity
