Purpose This paper aims to formulate the most probable future scenario for the accommodation sharing sector within the next five to ten years. It addresses the following six thematic aspects: relevance, different forms of accommodation sharing, users, hosts, platforms, and finally, industry regulation. Design/methodology/approach This study identifies the most likely holistic future scenario by conducting a two-stage Delphi study involving 59 expert panelists. It addresses 33 projections for six thematic sections of the accommodation sharing industry: relevance, different forms of accommodation sharing, users, hosts, platforms, and finally, industry regulation. Findings The results indicate that the number of shared accommodations and users of home-sharing will increase. Moreover, the cost advantage is the predominant driver for users to engage in the accommodation sharing segment, and for the hosts, the generation of an extra income is the primary incentive. Finally, the regulation within this industry is expected to be more effective in the foreseeable future. Practical implications The results are critical, not only to advance our theoretical understanding and stimulate critical discussions on the long-term development of accommodation sharing but also to assist governments and policymakers who have an interest in developing and regulating this sector and developers seeking business opportunities. Originality/value While there is ample knowledge about the past and current development of accommodation sharing in tourism, little is understood about its potential future development and implications for consumers, the economy, and society. To date, no scientific research is available that develops scenarios about the future of accommodation sharing.

developing country, i.e., Thailand 2) to propose managerial guidelines to increase service capacity in the tourism accommodation sector in a remote area in a developing country that depends on the tourism industry for a large share of the national income. Methodology: A questionnaire was developed and distributed to 400 tourists to explore their expectations and satisfaction level in terms of the accommodation services they have experienced in a remote area. Mean, standard deviation, T-Test and F-Test were used to analyse the collected data. In-depth interviews were conducted with managers and staff in charge of managing and providing services in the accommodation. Main Findings: The study showed that tourists have low expectations, but high levels of satisfaction towards the five aspects of service quality in the tourism accommodation sector in a remote area. Implications/Applications: Thus, guidelines were developed to increase service capacity for accommodations, located in a remote area in Thailand and to enhance tourists’ experience to achieve the highest satisfaction levels. Five measures are described below. First, emphasize accountability and trustworthiness. For tourists’ benefits, legal measures should be set to control and manage accommodations that cannot correctly comply with the agreements or terms and conditions of advertisements or promotions. Second, focus on responding to tourists’ demands and their curiosity, staff should always accurately serve their needs. Also, inform and provide short and clear explanations to tourists when any changes occur after finalizing agreements with the tourist. Moreover, the service procedure should be convenient, fast, and simple. Third, increase tourists’ confidence towards accommodation services and staff by pursuing the following manners: honesty, well-mannered, gentle and friendly services with service-minded attitude. Fourth, because sympathy is another key success, encourage staff to show concern, kindness, and willingness to help and treat tourists equally. Finally, highlight the tangible assets such as providing a clean and attractive environment, both inside and outside of the accommodation. Increasing the accommodation’s sense of visibility through both offline and online advertisement and media is important.

This research examines the predictors of accommodation granting among adult workers with disabilities using data collected from 5,418 respondents to a Statistics Canada post 2006 census survey called the Participation and Activity Limitation Survey. Using a rational choice perspective that focuses on perceived utility (limited by social identity effects), I test a series of hypotheses about individual, organizational, and institutional variables that predict willingness to grant disability-related workplace accommodations. One key finding is that different predictors are significant for different types of accommodations, highlighting the need to avoid generalizing from one type of accommodation to another. Another important finding is that, as a category, individual variables directly related to disability explained a greater amount of variance in accommodation granting than other aspects of personal identity, organizational factors, or institutional variables. There was evidence that decision-making was influenced by stereotyping and the stigmatization of particular disability types. There was also evidence that occupational and industry-based logics of appropriateness are salient for the most commonly requested types of accommodations. Meanwhile institutional forces meant to act as behavioural controls, such as legislation and union protection, do not seem to be having the intended positive influence on accommodation provision in the workplace. The findings suggest that other forms of intervention, such as community education, may be required to encourage greater access to workplace accommodations.

Abstract This article focuses on the current trends in accommodation industry development in European countries through the study of satisfaction with tourists’ increasing demand for accommodation. The total number of tourist nights spent at accommodation establishments continues to increase. Nevertheless, the growth of this indicator is significantly different across both regions and accommodation activity types. Moreover, the decrease in the number of tourist nights spent due to the impact of crises and destructive factors also varies. Based on the results of a data analysis of the Eurostat online database, we found that the number of beds at the accommodation establishments is not a key factor that determines the number of tourist nights spent. This finding represents the importance for the development strategy of considering not only the capacity of accommodation establishments, but also the variety of accommodation activity types. The data analysis of some countries’ cases points out that even a less robust accommodation industry has opportunities to develop in a difficult and uncertain period. This study result has practical applications in an effective development strategy particularly in a time of crisis.

Objective: Digital micro-entrepreneurship in the tourism and hospitality industry is a novel phenomenon driven by accommodation sharing platforms like Airbnb. The purpose of the study is to explore the attributes, motivations, perceptions, benefits, and challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the peer-to-peer accommodation sector driven by the Airbnb Platform. Research Design & Methods: This study used a qualitative research design that followed inductive content analysis assisted by thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with twelve micro-entrepreneurs who provide peer-to-peer accommodations in Sri Lanka. Findings: Peer-to-Peer accommodation entrepreneurs were motivated mainly by the curiosity to try Airbnb, followed by monetary and social gains. Amidst several challenges, such as the uncleanliness of some guests and violation of house rules, peer-to-peer micro-entrepreneurs enjoy their role as hosts and are satisfied with the overall hosting experience. Implications & Recommendations: The study provided peer-to-peer accommodation hosts a sense of empowerment and an opportunity to make their voice heard, which is crucial in developing an impartial public debate to develop the right policies for the peer-to-peer accommodation sector in Sri Lanka. Contribution & Value Added: The study contributes to the existing body of knowledge on entrepreneurship in the informal sector by viewing Airbnb hosts as informal microentrepreneurs with distinct attributes, motives, perceptions, benefits and challenges while providing valuable insights for various stakeholders in the industry.

The characteristics of social media and its interactivity propelled it to become an eminent medium of marketing for most business organisations, including SMEs. However, SMEs in the hospitality and tourism industry, such as budget accommodations, hardly utilise social media as their marketing medium. Thus, this study investigates factors influencing budget accommodation owners in utilising social media as their marketing medium since digital promotion remains underexplored in SMEs. The current study adopts an expanded research model consisting of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT), where 300 respondents were selected and assessed using the convenience sampling technique. An analysis of Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) was employed to test the research model. Research analysis revealed that the exogenous constructs refer to the internal factor, while external and technology factors jointly explained 71.6% variance of the endogenous construct of social media acceptance. External and technological factors positively and significantly affect social media marketing acceptance among budget accommodation. However, internal factors show insignificant effects. The analysis of mediating effects illustrated that technological factors greatly mediate both internal and external factors on social media marketing acceptance among budget accommodation. In conclusion, the findings of this study provide useful insights into the perspectives of budget accommodation owners in social media marketing, which indirectly contributes to the development of the nation’s tourism industry and economic growth. Keywords: SMEs, budget accommodation, social media acceptance, TAM, IDT.

Currently, academics have given an intense interest in investigating the factors that promote the tourism industry as evidenced by the growing studies which investigate the impact of accommodation services as one of the main factors in the tourism industry. However, this investigated impact is missing in the Islamic tourism industry. For this reason, this paper is filling this gap by investigating the impact of accommodation entrepreneurship activities on Islamic tourism (Umrah pilgrimage) in Saudi Arabia. This paper applied a robust non-parametric approach of bootstrapped quantile regression to estimate the effect of accommodation entrepreneurship activities on Islamic tourism (Umrah pilgrimage) using a sample of the total Umrah pilgrims (Islamic tourists) as a proxy for Islamic tourism (Umrah pilgrimage) development and total accommodation entrepreneurship activities as an independent variable covering a period from 2010 until 2018. The findings demonstrated that accommodation entrepreneurship activities are promoting Islamic tourism (Umrah pilgrimage) industry in Saudi Arabia. The findings also indicated that accommodation entrepreneurship activities are one of the main factors that promote Islamic tourism (Umrah) in Saudi Arabia alongside Islamic life and belief, and religious loyalty.

As the most important manifestation of the activities of the life service industry, the reasonable layout of spatial agglomeration and dispersion of the accommodation and catering industry plays an important role in guiding the spatial structure of the urban industry and population. Applying the contour tree and location quotient index methods, based on points of interest (POI) data of the accommodation and catering industry in Beijing and on the identification of the spatial structure and cluster center of the accommodation and catering industry, we investigated the distribution and agglomeration characteristics of the urban accommodation and catering industry from the perspective of industrial spatial differentiation. The results show that: (1) the accommodation and catering industry in Beijing presents a polycentric agglomeration pattern in space, mainly distributed within a radius of 20 km from the city center and on a relatively large scale; areas beyond this distance contain isolated single cluster centers. (2) From the perspective of the industry, the cluster centers close to the core area of the city are characterized by the agglomeration of multiple advantageous industries, while those in the outer suburbs of the city are more prominent in a single industry. (3) From the perspective of the location quotient of cluster centers, the leisure catering industries are mainly located close to the urban centers. On the contrary, the cluster centers in the outer suburbs and counties are relatively small and dominated by restaurants and fast food industries. Commercial accommodation businesses are mainly distributed in the transportation hub centers and in entertainment and leisure areas.

This study aims to explore tourist’s satisfaction on the accommodation provided during their stay in Vlore (Albania) touristic structures, and if there are possible associations between different characteristics related to this service and tourists. Lack of studies on analyzing customer satisfaction in the industry of accommodation, especially for Vlore, have prompted us to undertake this study. The study results are important for local government, the accommodation industry, and is a source of information for whom is interested to improve their accommodation services, or to invest in accommodation industry located in Vlore, Albania. “Netnography” is used to collect data for our research purpose from the reviews in TripAdvisor website. Using descriptive and inferential statistics, this study concludes that 64.9 percent of the ratings are “very good” or “excellent,” regardless of the accommodation structure chosen. Accommodation structures should have a clear defined idea of what kind of tourist they want to attract in a certain period of the year, in order to offer the quality tourists expect. Furthermore, understanding of tourist satisfaction evaluation is important in implementing successful marketing campaigns.

This study aims to reflect the development of accommodation facilities in transport hub areas through the spatial distribution and agglomeration characteristics of the lodging industry in HSR station areas. HSR stations in Beijing, Tianjin, Nanjing, Jinan, Kunshan, and Xuzhou are selected. The Geodetector model is applied to analyze the pertinent driving factors. The findings indicate that: (1) The smaller the population size of the city, the closer the high agglomeration area of the accommodation industry in the HSR station area is to the HSR station. (2) The longer the HSR station is open, the stronger the agglomeration intensity of the accommodation industry is. (3) At HSR stations in various cities, the driving factors affecting the accommodation industry are heterogeneous. The interaction between the factors has a synergistic enhancement effect.

There is a lot of attention given to the determinants of guest satisfaction and consumer behavior in the tourism literature. While much extant literature uses a deductive approach for identifying guest satisfaction dimensions, we apply an inductive approach by utilizing large unstructured text data of 104,161 online reviews of Korean accommodation customers to frame which topics of interest guests find important. Using latent Dirichlet allocation, a generative, Bayesian, hierarchical statistical model, we extract and validate topics of interest in the dataset. The results corroborate extant literature in that dimensions, such as location and service quality, are important. However, we extend existing dimensions of importance by more precisely distinguishing aspects of location and service quality. Furthermore, by comparing the characteristics of the accommodations in terms of metropolitan versus rural and the type of accommodation, we reveal differences in topics of importance between different characteristics of the accommodations. Specifically, we find a higher importance for points of competition and points of uniqueness among the accommodation characteristics. This has implications for how managers can improve customer satisfaction and how researchers can more precisely measure customer satisfaction in the hospitality industry.

Bali is one of the most popular tourism destinations in the world with various forms of accommodation. Start from five star hotels until small lodgings built in each community residential unit. The strong custom and restrictions on tall buildings in Bali, making people look for various new alternatives to develop accommodation. The existence of local regulations that require the use of traditional Balinese ornamentation, requires accommodation owners to find adaptive accommodation development methods. However, with the development of the digital industry 4.0 specifically in contact with online advertising, there are no official rules in Bali that regulate it. This condition makes the demand for cheap accommodation in Bali seem unlimited. The promotion system no longer requires government legality. This phenomenon makes accommodations in remote places even can be accessed easily by all people in the world. The community then competes with each other to build cheap accommodations in their traditional homes. The government also cannot touch the spatial development caused by online media demand, due to the absence of regulations that limit it. This research tries to identify the bed bunk phenomenon that is built and operationalized through online promotion media, and has no legality. Data collection was carried out by direct observation of the object of study in Canggu village, district of North Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali Province. The findings of this study indicate that, bed bunk was born in Bali due to the high demand for backpacker tourists which is sufficient with wifi, table and bed facilities. The high cost of land in Bali encourages local people to build accommodations in their residential units. The maximum utilization of the interior (construction of 6-8 beds in one room) is the most preferred choice. This condition is due to vertical building restrictions that cannot exceed 15m and economic factors (get maximum income on narrow land). This finding is expected to be used as an evaluation material for spatial improvement in Bali which has an impact on congestion throughout the tourist area due to uncontrolled accommodation development.

Small accommodation businesses dominate the rural hospitality industry, producing simple or complex tourist products and services in order to be sustainable and competitive. In this paper, a two-stage data envelopment analysis (DEA) model was applied in a representative sample of 151 small accommodation businesses in non-coastal areas in the region of Central Macedonia in Greece. In the first stage, DEA-bootstrapping is applied to estimate point and interval efficiency ratios of accommodation businesses and identify the benchmark accommodations. The double bootstrapping truncated procedure of Simar and Wilson is implemented in the second stage to investigate the role of five business factors in terms of efficiency. The findings suggest that small accommodation businesses, although they are based in areas where tourist resources abound, are inefficient. Moreover, the results of the truncated regression method showed that the business’s size, the operating days, and the variety of activities (simple/complex) affect business’s inefficiency. On the contrary, the business’s age and their engagement in agriculture or not do not affect business’s efficiency. The results are important for rural entrepreneurs and policy makers, and they will also be useful for the adaptation of businesses to increase their efficiency.

This study deals with the contribution of visitor expenditure on West Papua’s regional economy. It accomplishes three objectives: (1) to estimate the economic contribution of domestic and inbound visitor expenditure; (2) to measure the economic contribution of tourist spending at various accommodation classes; and (3) to describe the use of local commodities and labor in the regional accommodation industry. To accomplish the first and second objectives, an input-output multiplier analysis was employed. As for the third objective, interviews were conducted with 35 representatives from regional accommodation establishments. Tourism is found to contribute greatly to the regional economy, as shown from the higher overall output multiplier for tourist expenditure as compared to the regional output multiplier. The output multiplier for inbound tourist expenditure is higher than the domestic tourist. Three-star accommodations are found to be the biggest contributor with outstanding inter-sectoral impact on fisheries; food, beverage, and tobacco manufacture; and agriculture. The qualitative analysis suggests the existence of a large leakage (±90%), mainly in produce and chemicals used in daily operations. Fisheries and wood furniture are the exception. Overall, the accommodation sector absorbs a considerable extent of local labor (73%), 23% of which are Indigenous Papuans.

Purpose Accommodation sharing is a major trend shaping the hospitality industry, and Airbnb is the most prominent sharing platform driving this growth. While price convenience is reported as one of the main strengths of Airbnb accommodations, only a few studies have examined price determinants. In particular, it is unclear whether hosts dynamically adjust prices for shared accommodation based on their experience with price management and on the level of market demand. The purpose of this paper is to fill this gap by suggesting and testing a comprehensive hedonic pricing model. Design/methodology/approach Data from all 1,056 Airbnb listings for accommodations available in the city of Verona, Italy on four booking dates in 2016 are collected and analysed through regression analysis. Findings The results highlight that price is significantly related to the level of the host’s accumulated experience and the level of market demand on a specific booking date. The findings provide support for the ability of hosts to dynamically adjust prices for their accommodations. Practical implications Drawing on the innovator’s dilemma theory, this study suggests some strategies that traditional hotels may adopt to react to the disruptive nature of Airbnb. Originality/value This is one of the few studies to address hosts’ pricing strategies and specifically consider price adjustments owing to variations in host experience and market demand.

This paper aims to establish the motivation factors behind the accommodation choices made by millennials for stays at short-term rental properties and small hotels amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, a topic that remains under-represented in the hospitality and tourism literature. Using data from a survey of 145 millennials who stayed at an Airbnb property and a small hotel in the past year, a non-parametric test was utilized to compare six motivation factors that affect millennials' accommodation choices, guided by the push-pull motivational framework. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test results showed that the millennials significantly considered price and reviews as their common pull motivations when making accommodation choices. Interestingly, motivation factors such as location, service quality, facilities and amenities, safety, and security do not appear to significantly influence the millennials' choices for either accommodation. This paper contributes to the limited pool of empirical research on short-term rental properties and addresses the challenges faced by the small hotel industry by focusing on millennials' accommodation choices.

Abstract Research on the accommodation sector attracts only a small fraction of contemporary tourism scholarship relating to sub-Saharan Africa. This paper contributes to this expanding literature on segmentation and the accommodation sector in South Africa. Specifically, it examines the establishment and making of the timeshare industry as a distinctive form of accommodation within the national tourism economy. The timeshare industry in South Africa is the largest and most mature in sub-Saharan Africa and among the most important in the developing world. The analysis uses a longitudinal perspective in order to interpret the emerging spatial organisation and evolving structural issues that impacted upon the development of the timeshare industry in its formative years from 1978 to 2002. The study addresses a knowledge gap around the minimal pursuit of historical research within the existing international literature about timeshare.

In today’s technologically driven and revolutionised era of digital communication, numerous people combine a complex collection of social media platforms and technology to connect them to the world and people around them. The online participation of consumers has forced companies to embrace social media marketing efforts. The continuous advancements in marketing mediums have a major influence on the success and growth of companies, particularly within the tourism and hospitality industry, as increasingly more travellers are using social media as a means of communicating and seeking information. The purpose of this research study was therefore to explore if users of social media as a promotional mix element could be clustered into different groups based on characteristics they possess. A web-based self-administered questionnaire was distributed to accommodation establishments located in the Western Cape province of South Africa and a total of 361 useable responses were received. A four-step cluster analysis was performed in order to identify similar groups of respondents in their use of social media as a promotional mix element. The findings presented four distinct users of social media in the accommodation industry based on six variables identified from the literature.

This research project focussed on the topic of superstitions which is widely prevalent but under-explored. Specifically, this study examined the effects of demographical variables (namely, gender, age, education, income, and religion) on 18 superstitious behaviours. An online survey was distributed using two non-probability sampling techniques: snowballing and voluntary response sampling. The data collection was done through known contacts and on a social media platform within online communities. The survey was open to participants who were at least 18 years old and fitted the other criterion of being guests at hotels, hostels, Airbnb, etc. A total of 126 usable responses was collected and analysed. Descriptive statistics and MANOVA results indicated that demographical variables did not have much effect on superstitious behaviours. Furthermore, the extent of superstitious behavioural displays was also not varied among respondents with different demographical profiles. In a challenging business landscape, it is relevant and important for the accommodation industry to have heightened awareness about guests’ superstitions. Such knowledge can aid the operators in exhibiting extra cultural sensitivity and gracious respect towards their guests, generating more satisfaction and building loyalty.

The government and hotel management carry out various potential businesses for the accommodation service business. In the midst of intense industry competition, the accommodation service business seeks to develop the right marketing mix by finding and understanding tourists' desires, so as to encourage tourists' decisions to stay. Tourists have different preferences for the attributes of accommodation service businesses. One of the things that are trending for tourists is choosing attractive, safe and comfortable accommodation, returning to nature, avoiding large crowds during the Covid-19 pandemic. The alternative presented by accommodation service entrepreneurs is glamping. Glamping is a contemporary phenomenon as an alternative accommodation for tourists. This glamorous camping (glamping) concept presents an alternative in camping, but still provides a sense of security and comfort in enjoying the natural atmosphere (Monita, 2019, Ferdian, 2020). Candi Kuning Tourism Village has succeeded in showing the readiness of glamping management in accepting tourists with health protocols according to the government’s rule. The revival of Bali tourism is also marked by the stretching of the increase in glamping occupancy in Candi Kuning Tourism Village, Baturiti District, Tabanan Regency. This proves the success of glamping management in a new normal era tourism, based on Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0.

Internships are one of the efforts of the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) to encourage employees to observe various dynamics of actual conditions and make multiple adjustments to take proactive steps to support the national industry. Cultural differences in the two types of institutions can be obstacles that cause uncertainty and anxiety. This study aims to determine the communication accommodation made by interns and the barriers experienced in the communication accommodation process. This study employed Communication Accommodation Theory (CAT) which refers to the four stages of the Giles model and Anxiety Uncertainty Management (AUM). It used is a qualitative interpretive approach with a case study method and data collection techniques with in-depth interviews. The study found that the interns accommodated convergence, divergence, and a little excessive accommodation to adjust their communication style to PT X employees. Communication accommodation aims at the intercultural adjustment process to form a mutual understanding between the individuals involved, create a feeling of comfort, lower communication barriers, and reduce uncertainty in interacting to achieve effective communication.

Recognizing that the pricing strategy of the newly emerging online shared accommodation industry would be different from that of the traditional hotel industry, this study attempted to identify the variables that are the main determinants of the peer-to-peer tourist accommodation price. Using a data set of Airbnb accommodation listings for Toronto, the study established a relationship between room pricing and various listing variables and identified a reduced number of listing attributes that influence the room price significantly. Focusing on a reduced number of important variables, Airbnb hosts can not only increase average profit but would also give tourists a better rental experience. Along with traditional multiple regressions approach, the study also applied two different approaches and found that the analysis of hedonic pricing using nonlinear and nonparametric approaches is quite promising.

Purpose Economic production analysis can provide critical perspectives on an industry’s performance. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factor input intensity of hospitality and related industries, namely, accommodation, food service and amusement, gaming and recreation (AFAGR), compared to other service industries. Design/methodology/approach This paper compared AFAGR with other industries categorized as services by the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). The NAICS code of up to four digits was used to collect data (US Census Bureau). Findings Results of this paper confirm extant literature that food service is more labor-intensive than other service industries; however, this was not true of accommodation and AGR industries. Similarly, while food service industry was relatively less intermediate input intensive than other service industries, accommodation and AGR were not. There were no significant differences between hospitality and other service industries (AFAGR) in their capital intensity. Another important finding was that while accommodation had constant results to scale, AGR had increasing returns to scale and food service industry was found to have decreasing returns to scale. Research limitations/implications This investigation only looked at the four-digit NAICS-coded industries. International differences could also be investigated in the future. Practical implications Based on theoretical arguments, high labor intensity together with low intermediate input in food service industry suggests that efficiencies could be gained in these businesses. This may also be evident by the decreasing returns to scale that this paper found for the food service industry. These comparisons could guide additional research about the causes, consequences and potential sources of improvement of efficiency of economic productivity in AFAGR. Managers in AFAGR would find it valuable to understand how they might be able to enhance economic output, particularly in the context of the role of labor. Furthermore, any changes in one economic input would have implications on other inputs and possibly on productivity. Social implications Any future recalibration of input intensity in hospitality industries could have both social and economic consequence. Originality/value This paper enhances our understanding of how hospitality industries use economic factors of production. Labor in AFAGR is viewed as a given. This study suggests that food service industry may need to reevaluate its labor productivity, the way it is measured and how it might affect efficiencies. Such understanding could better inform the sources and causes of economic efficiencies in AFAGR industries. Until now, this understanding has mostly been based on relatively scarce comparative systematic analysis.

This study investigates the brand loyalty of consumers in the online booking platform industry. The Mabalingwe Nature Reserve served as a case study, while the Moolla and Bisschoff brand loyalty model was used to measure brand loyalty across twelve antecedents. This study aimed to, firstly, validate the model for use in online booking platforms, secondly, to measure the reliability of the data, and finally, to measure brand loyalty across twelve antecedents in online booking platforms. Online questionnaires were distributed via an online link by the booking managers of the game reserve, and 131 responses were captured; this represented a statistically adequate sample as per the KMO measure (.741). The descriptive statistics, using a 5-point Likert scale, showed that Brand trust (4.03) and Customer satisfaction (3.96) are the most important brand loyalty antecedents, while Culture (2.34) is the least important brand loyalty antecedent in an online booking platform. Exploratory factor analysis validated the questionnaire for online booking platforms, while Cronbach’s alpha coefficient (.701) indicated that the reliability of the data is acceptable. Regarding latent variable identification, Brand quality and Brand relationship are two most important factors, respectively, explaining variance of 13.1% and 8.7%. The study culminated in a model to measure and manage brand loyalty of online booking platforms. This model can be operationalized for use by managers, researchers, and academia.
