O trabalho aqui apresentado tem como objetivo demonstrar o sucesso de um paciente submetido a cirurgia de estabilização ventral através de parafusos e cimento ósseo. Clinicamente a cadela se apresentava tetraparética e com quadro progressivo de piora, com dor, comprometimento respiratório e cegueira, o que fez a decisão cirúrgica ser de extrema importância, pois há grande chance de óbito nesses casos. A instabilidade é mais comum em cães de raças pequenas, mas há relatos em cães de porte grande ou até mesmo em gatos (raro). As formas podem ser congênitas ou adquiridas e os animais acometidos podem apresentar sinais clínicos agudos ou crônicos, desde tetraparesia ambulatória leve com dor até alterações respiratórias graves. O diagnóstico é obtido pela associação dos exames físico, neurológico e de imagem como radiografia, tomografia computadorizada e ressonância magnética. A possibilidade de tratamento depende de alguns fatores, mas pode ser conservativo ou, como no relato descrito, cirúrgico, o qual tem duas formas de abordagem, a ventral e a dorsal. O presente relato trata de um canino, fêmea da raça poodle que foi acompanhada clinicamente por dois anos após a cirurgia, sem que houvesse recidiva dos sinais clínicos ou prejuízo do quadro neurológico.

Fusarium semitectum is a pathogenic fungus causing fruit rot of banana fruits. Biological control agents have been used as an alternative to control postharvest diseases. The objective of this study was to test antagonistic potential of mycobiota of banana fruits (Musa cuminata cultivar Lampung) against F. semitectum BIO 91055. The tested fungi were isolated from healthy banana cultivar Lampung collected from Gembrong market located in Bogor using serial dilution method, followed by pour plate method. Test of antagonism activity was carried out using dual culture method. Seventeen fungal isolates were isolated, they consisted of 14 filamentous fungal isolates and 3 yeast isolates. Four filamentous fungal isolates inhibited the growth of F. semitectum BIO 91055 more than 70%, they were Aspergillus niger, Cercosporella sp., Plectosphaerella sp., and Trichoderma hamatum. Three isolates (Cercosporella sp., Plectosphaerella sp., and Trichoderma hamatum) did not cause any diseases of banana fruits and they were considered as potential biocontrol agents.

Abstrak: Pada era sekarang ini, berbagai pihak tengah mengalami kendala dikarenakan menghadapi pandemi COVID-19. Peraturan pemerintah memberlakukan physical distancing untuk semua pelajar, mahasiswa dan pekerja diharuskan tinggal dirumah.Pada SD Negeri Pedurungan Kidul 02 Semarang pun harus mematuhi peraturan yang berlaku selama pandemi berlangsung. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan munculnya beberapa kesulitan pekerjaan yang harus dilaksanakan secara online. Salah satu nya dalam bidang pendidikan, seorang guru harus dapat melaksanakan aktivitas mengajar secara online. Hal ini dapat dianggap sebagai hambatan besar bagi seorang guru yang buta teknologi. Sehingga penyampaian dan evaluasi materi tidak dapat tersampaikan dengan baik. Dari permasalahan diatas, maka beberapa guru membutuhkan skill tambahan mengenai pemanfaatan teknologi untuk membantu pelaksanaan pengajaran online. Pelaksanaan sosialiasasi ini difokuskan untuk pelaksanaan evaluasi dengan media online menggunakan aplikasi google form, google sites, google Lens, google ekspedisi AR dan VR. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini telah mendapatkan respon positif dari peserta. Hail ini dapat dilihat dari hasil kuisioner yang didapatkan pra test dan post test untuk setiap pertanyaan peserta pelatihan dan pendampingan PKM mengalami peningkatan yakni dari 28,58% ke 91,55% untuk pertanyaan Ya. Dengan demikian pelatihan ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengenai penggunaan dan pemanfaatan fitur Google.Abstract: In the current era, various parties are experiencing problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Government regulations impose physical distancing for all students. Students and workers are required to stay at home. At SD Negeri Pedurungan Kidul 02 Semarang, they must comply with the regulations that apply during the pandemic. This has resulted in the emergence of several difficulties for work that must be carried out online. One of them is in education, and a teacher must be able to carry out teaching activities online. This can be considered a major obstacle for a technology-blind teacher so that the delivery and evaluation of the material cannot be conveyed properly. Some teachers need additional skills regarding the use of technology to help implement online teaching from the above problems. The implementation of this socialization is focused on conducting evaluations with online media using the google form application, google sites, google Lens, google expedition AR and VR. The implementation of this activity has received a positive response from the participants. This result can be seen from the questionnaire results obtained by the pre-test and post-test for each PKM training and mentoring participant question, which has increased from 28.58% to 91.55% for Yes questions. Thus this training can increase the ability to use and utilize Google's features.

AbstrakPengolahan citra dalam dunia medis sudah banyak dikembangkan. Satu tahapan yang penting dalam pengolahan citra ini yaitu segmentasi. Ketepatan dalam menentukan diagnosis suatu penyakit ditentukan oleh ketepatan tahap segmentasi.Penelitian ini menggunakan citra dental panoramic radiograph dengan ukuran 2000x1000 piksel. Daerah sampel tulang kortikal diambil dari tulang kortikal rahang bawah bagian kanan dan kiri sekitar foramen mentalis dengan ukuran 128x128 piksel. Untuk mempermudah proses segmentasi maka dilakukan prapengolahan terhadap citra yaitu dengan contrast stretching dan grayscaling. Selanjutnya citra hasil prapengolahan dilakukan segmentasi menggunakan metode active contour. Metode ini diawali dengan pembentukan pembentukan mask sebagai kurva awal, dari kurva awal ini kemudian kurva akan bergerak keluar atau kedalam sesuai dengan bentuk tepi dari tulang kortikal. Ujicoba dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic). Segmentasi dari 21 data citra dental panoramic radiograph menggunakan metode Active Contour dapat melakukan segmentasi tulang kortikal kanan dengan prosentase akurasi 90,67%, sensitifitas 90,14% dan spesifitas 91,55%. Tulang kortikal kiri dengan prosentase akurasi 89,37%, sensitifitas 86,59% dan spesifitas 91,23%. One important stage in the processing of this image is segmentation. The accuracy in determining the diagnosis of a disease is determined by the accuracy of the segmentation stage.This study used a dental panoramic radiograph image with the size of 2000x1000 pixels. The area of cortical bone samples taken from the cortical bone of the lower jaw right and left about the mental foramen with 128x128 pixels. To simplify the process of segmentation is carried out preprocessing on the image that is by contrast stretching and grayscale. Furthermore, image segmentation results of preprocessing conducted using active contour method. This method begins with the formation of the formation of the mask as the initial curve, from the initial curve is then the curve will move in or out according to the shape of the edge of the cortical bone.Tests performed using the ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic). Segmentation of 21 dental panoramic radiograph image data using Active Contour method can perform with the right cortical bone segmentation accuracy percentage of 90.67%, 90.14% sensitivity and 91.55% specificity. Ujung Kulon National Park is a national park with a lot of biodiversity that is almost extinct, but it has still not been realized by many students. Students' understanding and concern for the flora and fauna found in the TNUK area can be trained through learning based on environmental literacy. This study aims to determine the validity level of research-based e-modules on conservation themes to train environmental literacy attitudes of junior high school students. The research method used is research and development Research and Development R & D) concerning Thiagarajan, then adapted to the capabilities and needs of researchers, it is limited to 3 stages: define, design, and develop. The instrument used is a validation instrument sheet, which three validators will carry out, each on material expert validation, media expert validation, and teaching materials expert. The validation results obtained on the material expert get a percentage value of 82.88% with the category "very valid", on the media expert get a percentage value of 90.91% with the category "very valid", and on the teaching materials expert get a percentage value of 91.55% with the category "very valid" so that from the results of the validation of the research-based e-module conservation theme can be used with some revisions.Abstrak. Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon merupakan salah satu taman nasional yang mempunyai banyak biodiversitas yang hampir punah akan tetapi hal tersebut masih belum disadari oleh banyak siswa. Padahal pemahaman dan kepedulian siswa terhadap flora dan fauna yang terdapat di kawasan TNUK bisa di latih melalui pembelajaran yang berbasis literasi lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat validitas e-modul berbasis riset tema konservasi untuk melatih sikap literasi lingkungan siswa SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan Research and Development R & D) dengan mengacu pada Thiagarajan, kemudian disesuaikan dengan kemampuan dan kebutuhan peneliti sehingga dibatasi pada 3 tahapan saja, yaitu: tahap define, design, dan develop. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar instrumen validasi yang akan dilakukan oleh 3 validator masing-masing pada validasi ahli materi, validasi ahli media dan ahli bahan ajar. Didapatkan hasil validasi pada ahli materi mendapatkan nilai persentase 82,88% dengan katagori “sangat valid”, pada ahli media mendapatkan nilai persentase 90,91% dengan katagori “sangat valid” dan pada ahli bahan ajar mendapatkan nilai persentase 91,55% dengan katagori “sangat valid” sehingga dari hasil balidasi tersebut e-modul berbasis riset tema konservasi dapat digunakan dengan beberapa revisi.

By applying the technology of composite ecological floating bed, a research was conducted to compare the eutrophic pollutant removal effects in domestic sewage among different filler proportions under static conditions. The results of proportion comparison experiments showed that the proportion of Plant: Filler = 1:1 had the best effects on NH4+-N with the average removal rates as 97.93%, while as Plants: Filler = 1:1/2 had the best effects on TN and TP with the average removal rates of 89.05% and 91.55% respectively.

We present the first measurement of the left-right cross-section asymmetry (A LR ) in Z-boson production observed at the SLAC Linear Collider. In 1992 the SLD detector recorded 10 224 Z events produced by the collision of longitudinally polarized electrons with an unpolarized positron beam at a center-of-mass energy of 91.55 GeV. The average electron beam polarization during the run was (22.4 ± 0.6)%. We measure A LR to be 0.100 ± 0.0440 (stat.) ±0.004 (syst.) , which determines the effective weak mixing angle to be [Formula: see text].

Both compounds crystallizes monoclinic, space group C52h-P21/n with the lattice parameters t-ZnOZn3(AsO4)2: a = 9.807(3), b = 8.180(2), c = 9.967(2) Å , β = 116.53(2)°, Z = 4 and h -ZnOZn3(AsO4)2: a = 9.743(3), b = 8.163(8), c = 17.933(2) Å , β = 91.55(2)°, Z = 8. Similarities and differences of the crystal structures will be discussed.

Cette thèse présente trois contributions principales liées à l'approche de programmation linéaire pour les jeux à champ moyen (MFGs).La première partie de la thèse traite les aspects théoriques des MFGs permettant simultanément arrêt optimal, contrôle stochastique et absorption. En utilisant la formulation de programmation linéaire pour ce type de MFGs, un résultat général d'existence pour les équilibres de Nash MFG est dérivé sous des hypothèses faibles à travers du théorème de point fixe de Kakutani-Fan-Glicksberg. Nous montrons que cette méthode de relaxation est équivalente à l'approche par martingales contrôlées/arrêtées pour les MFG, une autre méthode de relaxation utilisée dans des articles précédents dans le cas du contrôle. De plus, sous des conditions appropriées, nous montrons que notre notion de solution satisfait un système d'équations différentielles partielles (EDP), ce qui permet de comparer nos résultats avec la littérature sur les EDP.La deuxième partie se concentre sur un algorithme numérique pour l'approximation de l'équilibre de Nash MFG en tirant profit de l'approche par programmation linéaire. La convergence de cet algorithme est démontrée pour deux classes de MFG, les MFG avec arrêt optimal et absorption, et les MFG avec contrôle stochastique et absorption. Le schéma numérique appartient à la classe des procédures d'apprentissage. En particulier, nous appliquons l'algorithme Fictitious Play où la meilleure réponse à chaque itération est calculée en résolvant un problème de programmation linéaire.La dernière partie de la thèse porte sur une application des MFGs à la dynamique long terme de l'industrie de l'électricité. Différents scénarios macroéconomiques et de politique climatique sont possibles pour les années à venir, or le scénario exact reste incertain. Par conséquent, les producteurs conventionnels ou renouvelables visant à sortir du marché ou à y entrer, respectivement, sont confrontés à l'incertitude concernant le prix du carbone et les politiques climatiques à venir. Les deux classes de producteurs interagissent par le biais du prix de l'électricité. Des stratégies d'équilibre de Nash sur des temps d'arrêt sont considérées et le problème est analysé à travers d'un modèle MFG. À cette fin, nous développons l'approche de programmation linéaire pour les MFG d'arrêt optimal avec bruit commun et information partielle en temps discret. Nous montrons l'existence d'un équilibre de Nash MFG et l'unicité du prix de marché en équilibre. Enfin, nous étendons l'algorithme numérique développé dans la deuxième partie de la thèse pour illustrer le modèle avec un exemple empirique inspiré du marché de l'électricité britannique<br>This thesis presents three main contributions related to the linear programming approach for mean field games (MFGs).The first part of the thesis is concerned with the theoretical aspects of MFGs allowing simultaneously for optimal stopping, stochastic control and absorption. Using the linear programming formulation for this type of MFGs, a general existence result for MFG Nash equilibria is derived under mild assumptions by means of Kakutani-Fan-Glicksberg's fixed point theorem. This relaxation method is shown to be equivalent to the controlled/stopped martingale approach for MFGs, another relaxation method used in earlier papers in the pure control case. Furthermore, under appropriate conditions, we show that our notion of solution satisfies a partial differential equation (PDE) system, allowing to compare our results with the PDE literature.The second part focuses on a numerical algorithm for approximating the MFG Nash equilibrium taking advantage of the linear programming approach. The convergence of this algorithm is shown for two classes of MFG, MFGs with optimal stopping and absorption, and MFGs with stochastic control and absorption. The numerical scheme belongs to the class of learning procedures. In particular, we apply the Fictitious Play algorithm where the best response at each iteration is computed by solving a linear programming problem.The last part of the thesis deals with an application of MFGs to the long term dynamics of the electricity industry. Different macroeconomic and climate policy scenarios are possible for the coming years, and the exact scenario remains uncertain. Therefore, conventional or renewable producers aiming to exit or enter the market, respectively, are facing uncertainty about the future carbon price and climate policies. Both classes of producers interact through the electricity market price. Nash equilibrium strategies over stopping times are considered and the problem is analyzed through a MFG model. To this end, we develop the linear programming approach for MFGs of optimal stopping with common noise and partial information in discrete time. We show the existence of an MFG Nash equilibrium and the uniqueness of the equilibrium market price. Finally, we extend the numerical algorithm developed in the second part of the thesis to illustrate the model with an empirical example inspired by the UK electricity market

Presentiamo dapprima il problema della stabilità delle soluzioni al problema di Cauchy tramite il metodo Lyapunov; prima in dimensione finita, e poi in spazi di Banach. Poi verifichiamo che l'equazione fondamentale di percezione cromatica ricade nel setting considerato e che il funzionale di Lyapunov associato verifica le ipotesi che assicurano la stabilità.

The purpose of this thesis was to develop and validate a liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) method to measure salivary cortisol and testosterone. Furthermore, to use this method to analyse saliva samples collected during an exercise study measuring the hormonal response to acute exercise. The ongoing contribution to knowledge provided by this research is the application of a developed and validated LC-MS method to analysis of cortisol from pre and post exercise saliva samples, and evaluation of the cortisol and testosterone response to three different training sessions; including an interval session (INT), tempo run (TEMP) and aerobic circuit training (CIR). An LC-MS method was developed to measure cortisol and testosterone. The mass spectrometer used was a triple quadrupole BioQ (Waters/Micromass, UK) coupled with a 1200 series HPLC machine (Agilent Technologies, UK). Optimisation of various parameters was undertaken including: cone voltage and capillary voltage, followed by optimisation of liquid chromatography (LC) parameters such as; mobile phase gradient and flow rate. Saliva samples were collected at rest, and hormones measured with the new LC-MS method and ELISA to validate the developed method. Finally, heart rate and salivary and plasma cortisol and testosterone response to acute exercise were tested, to compare the response to different training protocols in runners. Following this, the MS method underwent further validation against ELISA. Results revealed optimum MS parameters were: cone voltage 25 V; capillary voltage 3.5 kV and LM and HM resolution 8 Da. For the LC method, mobile phase flow rate was optimised at 0.1 mL/min, with a gradient profile ranging from 50 to 95% methanol (MeOH), and a run time of 15 minutes. Sample preparation was also considered (solid phase extraction); and wash phase of 10% MeOH, 10 times sample concentration and reconstitution with 80% MeOH were optimised to improve analyte recovery and detection. Comparison of cortisol measured at rest with LC-MS and ELISA (n=22) revealed a correlation between methods (r=0.83, P<0.001). The exercise study showed the INT elicited a higher peak heart rate (172±11) than CIR (148±10) or TEMP trials (163±10). INT also produced a higher RPE (15 ±2) than CIR (13±1) and TEMP (14±2) trials. Salivary cortisol increased at all time points post exercise in INT and remained higher than rest (1.29 ± 0.51 ng/mL) at 60 minutes recovery (3.13 ±1.59 ng/mL). Salivary testosterone increased pre to post exercise in CIR (119.7±39.5 pg/mL to 150.1 ±51.5 pg/mL), TEMP (142.4±76.5 pg/mL to 185.0±49.1 pg/mL) and INT (117.5±23.5 pg/mL to 176.3±46.0 pg/mL) trials. There was also a correlation between cortisol measured in plasma and saliva (r=0.813, p=0.0001). Additionally, comparison of salivary cortisol measurements obtained with mass spectrometry and ELISA (n=85) showed a correlation (r=0.934, p=00001). In conclusion, validation revealed cortisol could be quantfied accurately and precisely with LC-MS. Additionally, INT elicited a higher mean RPE and cortisol response than TEMP or CIR.

Iniciaremos com o trabalho de Euler sobre as pontes de Königsberg, pois é com ele que se dá início as pesquisas neste ramo científico da Matemática. Em seguida resgataremos a descoberta de Euler acerca da “propriedade geral dos sólidos limitados por faces planas”, conhecida hoje como relação de Euler. Seu trabalho, intitulado “Demonstratio nonnullarum insignium proprieatatum, quibus solida hedris planis inclusa sunt praedita”, surgiu do incômodo de demonstrar que existia uma propriedade geral para os sólidos limitados por faces planas, uma vez que a propriedade geral para os polígonos já era conhecida. Também iremos trabalhar com as obras de Cauchy e Lhuilier que contribuíram enormemente com a evolução da propriedade citada por Euler. Para encerrar, destacaremos algumas observações sobre a Característica de Euler, assunto que se desenvolveu a partir da preocupação deste e que hoje faz parte da Topologia Algébrica.<br>This dissertation aims to work topology in high school using as a teaching resource the History of Mathematics. We will start with Euler’s work about the bridges of Königsberg, is with them that begins the research in this scientific branch of Mathematics. After that, we will redeem Euler’s discovery about the “ general property of the solids bounded by flat faces”, known today as Euler’s relation. His work, entitled “ Demonstratio nonnullarum Insignium proprieatatum, quibus solida sunt hedras planis included praedita” arose from the inconvenience of demonstrate that there was a general property for solid bounded by flat faces since the general property for the polygons was already known. We will also work with Cauchy and Lhuilier’s works, which contributed a lot of the evolution of property mentioned by Euler. As closing, we will detach some observations about Euler’s Characteristic, a subject that was develop from Euler’s concerns and now is part of Algebraic Topology.

Considerando que são poucos os documentos que versam a respeito do desenvolvimento do Cálculo Numérico no Brasil, decidimos por analisar um período na História do Ensino de Cálculo Numérico, mediante o livro de Agliberto Xavier. O referido livro é fonte primária e, portanto, essencial para o desenvolvimento deste trabalho. A proposta foi desenvolvida por meio de uma pesquisa histórico-documental, realizada na Biblioteca da Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos (EESC/USP), na Biblioteca do Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e da Computação (ICMC/USP); na Biblioteca do Instituto de Matemática e Estatística (IME/USP), no Museu Casa Benjamin Constant, e no NUDOM - Núcleo de Documentação do Colégio Pedro II, no Rio de Janeiro. Este trabalho inclui uma análise do livro feita através de uma descrição do conteúdo exposto pelo autor, e comentários ao final de cada capítulo, de forma a compreender os passos utilizados pelo mesmo.<br>The aim of this work is to present an analysis of the book written by Prof. Agliberto Xavier, entitled Théorie des Approximations Numériques et du Calcul Abrégé, published in France in 1909. Considering that there are few documents regarding the development of the Numerical Methods in Brazil, we have decided to analyze a period in the History of Numerical Methods Teaching, using the book of Agliberto Xavier. The related book is primary source, therefore, essential for the development of this work. The proposal was developed by a historical analyses of documents found in the library of the Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos (EESC/USP), in the library of the Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e da Computação (ICMC/USP); in the library of the Instituto de Matemática e Estatística (IME/USP), in the Museum Casa Benjamin Constant, and in the NUDOM - Nucleus of Documentation of the Colégio Pedro II, in Rio de Janeiro. This work includes an analysis of the book made through a description of the content displayed by the author, and commentaries at the end of each chapter. With these commentaries we believe that the reading will be easier.

No caso de alunos não-falantes, os familiares têm grande importância no processo de avaliação, pois os pais são os maiores conhecedores das formas de expressão de seus filhos, sendo imprescindíveis para obtenção de informações a respeito dos centros de interesse, habilidades comunicativas e vocabulário do aluno. Após um trabalho anterior realizado pelos pesquisadores com a finalidade de construir um Protocolo para Avaliação de Habilidades Comunicativas para Alunos Não-Falantes Em Situação Familiar, o objetivo dessa pesquisa foi desenvolver esse mesmo protocolo. Para tanto, o desenvolvimento do protocolo foi realizado por estudos. No Estudo 1, reformulamos a primeira versão do Protocolo para Avaliação de Habilidades Comunicativas para Alunos Não-Falantes em Situação Familiar e criamos uma outra versão desse mesmo protocolo, intitulada protocolo reformulado, que contava com as seções: Identificação, Principal, Rotina, Preferências, Profissionais e Auxiliares, sendo que a seção Principal continha 59 itens. Ainda no Estudo 1, fizemos a aplicação do protocolo reformulado e analisamos os resultados dessa aplicação. A aplicação ocorreu na cidade de Curitiba-Pr e contou com a participação de 17 pais de alunos com deficiência. Os resultados do Estudo 1 deram origem à segunda versão do protocolo, que continha as mesmas seções das versões anteriores, sendo que a seção Principal continha 64 itens. No Estudo 2, realizamos a aplicação da segunda versão e fizemos a análise dos resultados dessa aplicação, que também aconteceu em Curitiba-Pr e contou com a participação de 17 pais e uma avó de alunos com deficiência. No Estudo 3, realizamos a aplicação e a reaplicação da segunda versão do protocolo...<br>The evaluation is a time-demanding process, since not only is it aimed at evaluating the subject deficits but also its needs and skills. In case of non-speaking students, family members have great importance on the evaluation process, for parents know better their children s forms of expression and are irreplaceable for the purpose of acquiring information concerning student s center of interest, communication skills, and vocabulary. Following a previous work by the authors trying to set the frame of an Evaluation Protocol of Communication Skills for Non-Speaking Students in Family Situation, the present research intends to establish the Protocol s final version. For doing so, the Protocol s development was carried at trough studies. In Study 1, we have reformulated the first version of the Evaluation Protocol of Communication Skills for Non-Speaking Students in Family Situation, and created another version of the protocol, named Reformulated Protocol, which was formed by sections: Identification, Principal, Routine, Preferences, Professionals, and Auxiliaries, noticing that the Principal section contained 59 items. Still in Study 1, we have applied the reformulated protocol and analyzed its results. It took place in the city of Curitiba, Pr, and 17 parents of challenged students participated. Results of Study 1 originated the second version of the protocol, which was formed by the same sections of previous versions, noticing that the Principal section contained 64 items. In Study 2, we applied the second version and proceeded with the analysis of the results, which also happened to take place in the city of Curitiba, Pr, and 17 parents and one grandparent of challenged students participated. Os experimentos de seletividade desenvolvidos no Laboratório de Biologia e Criação de Insetos da Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias de Jaboticabal UNESP foram realizados mediante a utilização de duas metodologias: uma nova metodologia proposta no LBCI, onde foram avaliados o número de ovos parasitados, porcentagem de parasitismo, porcentagem de emergência, longevidade e razão sexual das gerações F1 e F2 dos parasitóides, e no segundo experimento, utilizando-se da metodologia preconizada pela IOBC, foram avaliados o número de ovos parasitados, porcentagem de parasitismo, porcentagem de emergência e redução no parasitismo. Observou-se que nas duas metodologias os inseticidas endossulfam e etofenproxi não mostraram seletividade aos parasitóides, matando ou inibindo a oviposição, independente do hospedeiro utilizado. Triflumurom mostrou-se seletivo aos parasitóides somente em ovos de hospedeiros naturais quando a nova metodologia (LBCI) foi utilizada. Em testes com a metodologia da IOBC/WPRS triflumurom mostrou-se seletivo às duas espécies de parasitóides, não interferindo nos parâmetros biológicos; entretanto a utilização dessa metodologia interferiu nos resultados quando mais de uma espécie foi utilizada na realização dos experimentos, sendo passível de questionamento.<br>The aim of this work was to evaluate the selectivity of pesticides triflumurom, etofenprox and endosulfan for two species of Trichogramma; T. pretiosum and T. exiguum, in different hosts: A. kuehniella, S. frugiperda and P. xylostella, under laboratory conditions. The research was conducted at Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias de Jaboticabal (FCAV-UNESP), in the Laboratório de Biologia e Criação de Insetos. The tests were based on two methodologies: a new methodology for selectivity tests which was developed in LBCI and the IOBC/WPRS methodology. Using LBCI methodology parasitized eggs, percentage of emergence, percentage of parasitism, longevity and sex ratio were evaluated for generations F1 and F2. Using IOBC methodology were evaluated parasitized eggs, percentage of emergence, percentage of parasitism and parasitism reduction. The endosulfan and etofenprox were harmful to parasitoids inhibiting the parasitism in all hosts or killing the insects by two methodologies. Triflumurom was selective to parasitoids just in natural host eggs when the new methodology was applied. When the IOBC methodology was applied triflumurom showed selectivity for both species of parasitoids but the use of more than one specie of parasitoid using this methodology influenced the results being this methodology passible for discussions.

O edifício em questão é formado por quatro pavimentos, blocos cerâmicos e lajes maciças estando apoiado sobre sistema de vigas baldrames e estacas, sendo que as estacas estão sobre um pequeno radier. Após obtenção dos resultados experimentais necessários, foram feitas análises teóricas da distribuição das ações verticais, utilizando-se dos modelos de cálculos atualmente conhecidos e também através de um software comercial baseado no Método dos Elementos Finitos. Fez- se comparações com os resultados obtidos através dos ensaios experimentais com o intuito de verificar qual modelo de cálculo melhor representou o comportamento da alvenaria. A fim de avaliar a distribuição das ações verticais, o edifício foi ensaiado através de carregamentos uniformemente distribuídos - bandejas com água - sobre as lajes dos diferentes pavimentos, medindo assim, os valores de reações de apoio nos pontos instrumentados. Como principal conclusão, verificou-se que para cálculos manuais de distribuição de ações verticais as paredes não devem ser tratadas como isoladas, mesmo para edifícios de pequena altura, com poucos pavimentos, mas como pertencentes a determinado grupo, por causa da existência de interação entre elas.<br>This research was carried out in order to know, through theoretical and experimental analysis, the distribution of vertical loads along the height of the walls of a building in unreinforced structural masonry with ceramic blocks in small scale. The building in question consists of four floors, ceramic blocks and slabs being supported on system foundation beams and piles, the piles are upon a small raft. After obtaining the necessary experimental results were made theoretical analysis of the vertical loads distribution, using the currently model calculations and also with a commercial software based on finite element method. Comparisons were made with the results obtained from experimental tests with in order to determine which calculation model best represented the behavior of masonry. In order to evaluate the distribution of vertical loads, the building was tested by imposing uniformly distributed loads - trays with water - upon the slabs of different floors, thus measuring the values of support reactions at points instrumented. The main conclusion, it was found that for manual calculations of the distribution of vertical loads the walls should not be treated as isolated, even for buildings of small height, with few floors, but as belonging to a particular group, because of interaction between them.

O método de investigação do corpus, sob a perspectiva da Semiótica (principalmente no campo da Figuratividade), da Filosofia e da Teoria Literária, foi dividido em dois momentos: a microanálise e a macroanálise. Na primeira parte foi analisado de maneira sistemática o poema de abertura da obra, “Partida”, com o objetivo de reunir unidades temáticas e forma de construção do texto, destacando-se a questão do gênio e a construção do delírio poético. O segundo passo foi estender tais instâncias para os outros poemas do livro, com o objetivo de configurá-las como recorrências na obra do poeta. A conclusão coteja as duas partes e propõe uma estrutura mínima da poética carneiriana, fundamentada nas teorias da modernidade, principalmente relacionadas à construção do sujeito lírico e ao diálogo com a tradição.<br>This dissertation presents a study of the book Dispersão from the modern Portuguese poet Mário de Sá-Carneiro published in 1914. The corpus investigation method, under the Semiotics (specially on Figurativity), Philosophy and Literary Theory perspective, was divided into two phases: the microanalysis and the macroanalysis. The first part, the overture poem from Dispersão, “Partida”, was systematically analyzed aiming at to gather thematic units and form used in the poem construction, highlighting the genius issue and the poetical delirious construction. The second part consisted in extending such elements to other poems of the book in order to represent them as recurrences in the poet’s work. The conclusion compares both parts to propose a minimum structure to Sá-Carneiro’s poetry, based on theories of modernity specially concerning the lyrical subject construction and the dialogue with literary tradition.

Por isso, a pesquisa clínica e pré-clínica nessa área são a chave para a descoberta de um tratamento adequado. Na pesquisa pré-clínica, são utilizados protocolos que reúnem vários modelos comportamentais para refinar o estudo do comportamento animal, porém, há dúvidas de que possa existir interferência nos dados de um procedimento quando é utilizado o mesmo animal. Assim, o objetivo maior deste estudo é conhecer a possível interferência de procedimentos sucessivos no mesmo animal, de modo a se estabelecer uma bateria sequencial de procedimentos para a avaliação de atividade ansiolítica e antidepressiva. Foram utilizados camundongos suíços, os quais foram submetidos a exposições consecutivas a dois diferentes procedimentos experimentais, com intervalo de 30 minutos entre cada uma. Foram detectadas interferências decorrentes da pré-exposição a determinados procedimentos, das quais algumas foram solucionadas apenas com a inversão na ordem de exposição. Após a identificação dos procedimentos que não promoviam interferência sobre os parâmetros avaliados no procedimento posterior, foi estabelecida uma bateria sequencial, que possibilita a reutilização dos animais, otimizando o uso de substâncias e dos próprios animais<br>Anxiety disorders and depression, both ranked among the most frequent diseases, afflict the central nervous system. They are comorbid in most cases, which can thus be even more prejudicial to the patient. For this reason, pre-clinical and clinical research in this area constitutes the key to discovering an adequate treatment. Pre-clinical research utilizes protocols that combine several behavioral models to refine the study of animal behavior. However, doubts arise from possible interference in data from a procedure that utilizes the same animal. Thus, the primary objective of the present study is to ascertain the potential interference of successive procedures on the same animal, so as to establish a sequential battery of procedures to evaluate antidepressive and anxiolytic activity. Swiss mice were utilized and submitted to consecutive exposures to two different experimental procedures, separated from each other by a 30-minute interval. Interferences resulting from pre-exposure to determinate procedures were detected, some of which were resolved only by inverting the order of exposure. After the identification of procedures that did not interfere with parameters evaluated in a subsequent procedure, a sequential battery was established to enable the reutilization of animals, thus optimizing the use of substances and of the animals themselves

Abstract Turbocharger has experienced a prompt expansion in vehicle industry in recent years, because it enables downsizing of internal combustion engines (ICEs) so as to cutting down CO2 emissions. Turbocharger turbine efficiency is vital for the performance and emission of ICEs. Conventionally, turbines are designed and optimized under steady and uniform inflow conditions, but they are always fed with pulsating and swirling inflow on ICEs. Understanding turbine behaviors under enginelike unsteady swirling inflow conditions is significant to improve turbine on-engine performance. The purpose of the present study is to examine and compare the unsteady and steady swirling inflow effect on turbocharger turbine performance. The investigation reveals that the turbine suffers substantial efficiency reductions under swirling inflow conditions, no matter under unsteady or steady state, and the efficiency reductions are related with the intensity of inlet swirls. The unsteady and steady swirling inflow leads to reductions in both the absolute and relative flow angles. The swirling inflow results in different effect on turbine performance under unsteady state from steady state. Time lags exist between the unsteady swirling inflow affect the turbine performance. Besides, unsteady swirling inflow effect lead to fluctuations of turbine performance parameters, which discloses a coupled effect of the unsteady and swirling inflow. The unsteady effect and the swirling inflow effect do not simply superpose with each other, but have complicated interactions with each other. Both pulsating and swirling inflow can lead to circumferential flow distortions at rotor inlet by themselves, and when turbine is fed with both pulsatile and swirling inflow together the circumferential flow distortion would be result of their synergetic effect.

Abstract Launch systems development today is heading in two, seemingly divergent, directions. A first direction is towards bigger launchers, designed to carry more than 50 tons into low Earth orbit (LEO). On the other hand, there’s growing interest from government agencies and start-up companies alike in very small vehicles for dedicated launches of small satellites, vehicles that can place just a few hundred, or even a few dozen, kilograms into LEO. At the same time, space programs are starting to look into the possibility of using the existing turbines of rocket engines turbopumps working on classical fuels to work on alternative fuels. The desired characteristics of being a simple, lightweight, high specific work output, low mass flow rate turbine easily translate into supersonic turbines and outweigh the disadvantage of having low efficiency compared to subsonic turbines. Such a turbine needs proof of concept because, at small scales, the flow changes dramatically due to end wall losses which may cause the turbine to choke prematurely and combined with the effect of shock wave losses, characteristic to a supersonic flow, this effect can turn out to be critical. This paper presents a methodology to design such a turbine, taking into account the requirements derived from an application represented by a micro launcher with a maximum payload of 100 kg. As compared to the design of a classical turbine, this methodology is focused on geometrical limitations, to ensure the manufacturability of the turbine, as well as aerodynamic efficiency. The methodology was applied for obtaining the geometry of a turbine for the aforementioned application using a classical fuel as design point. 3D numerical simulations were computed for this geometry, and the efficiency of the turbine was obtained within 8% of the analytical data. To facilitate the use of different fuels, a simple and fast method was also developed for predicting the performance of a turbine of known geometry and performance for an initial working fluid when changing the nature of this working fluid. Benefiting from having the performance already estimated for another working fluid (the design fluid), the Mach numbers similarity criterion can be used to estimate the performance of the same geometry when changing the working fluid, as a known practice in the gas-turbine field. The Mach number appears as a scaling parameter in many of the equations for compressible flows, shock waves, and expansions. Not only is it suited for similarity of a classical turbine, it is also appropriate for a supersonic turbine, due to the fact the conditions behind shock waves are only dependent on the Mach number and the fluid’s properties. Using this method, the performance of the designed turbine was computed for a completely different working fluid than the design one. The largest difference in power output generated by changing the working fluid is of 170%. A new set of numerical simulations was done, and the results confirmed the validity of the method by obtaining a value of the power output within 6.5% for four other working fluids.

Abstract Understanding the amount of air that enters a gas turbine is important for calculating their performance and efficiency. Flow meters are almost never used to measure that flow in production engines. Typical flow meters are impractical because the air flow into the compressor is very large, up to 1400 lbs/s (635 kg/s) or 1,000,000 ft3/min (28,300 m3/min), and typically an intentional pressure drop is involved in the measurement. This pressure drop negatively impacts the performance of the engine. If inlet air mass flow were known accurately without negatively impacting the engine performance, then engines could be run more efficiently. Currently, inlet mass flow is typically inferred, rather than measured. This leads to increased safety margins which require engines to be run more conservatively, i.e., at lower power. This paper describes a novel, inexpensive, and accurate air mass flow measurement system with negligible impact on engine performance.

Technical and economical evaluation of solar thermal power plants constantly gains more importance for industry and research. The reliability of the results highly depends on the assumptions made for the applied parameters. Reducing a power plant system to one single, deterministic number for evaluation, like the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE), might end in misleading results. Probabilistic approaches can help to better evaluate systems [1] and scenarios [2]. While industry looks for safety in investment and profitability, research is predominantly interested in the evaluation of concepts and the identification of promising new approaches. Especially for research, dealing with higher and hardly quantifiable uncertainties, it is desirable to get a detailed view of the system and its main influences. However, to get there, also a good knowledge on the stochastic interrelations and its interpretation is required. Therefore, this paper mainly assesses the influences of basic stochastic assumptions and suggests a methodology to consider suitable stochastic input, especially for parameters of systems still under research. As examples, the comparison between a parabolic trough plant with synthetic oil and direct steam generation is used.

Abstract Mobile heat pipe small reactors, with their simple structure, high mobility and inherent safety features, is a hot frontier topic for research at present. Based on Fluent software, numerical simulations are used to study the changes in the steady-state operating parameters of a high-temperature potassium heat pipe, and to investigate the effects of the horizontal acceleration, inclination angle and saturation temperature of the mass inside the heat pipe on the overall heat transfer performance of the heat pipe. It is found that the heat transfer performance of the heat pipe increases as the saturation temperature of the mass inside the tube decreases; the overall thermal resistance of the heat pipe tends to decrease and then increase slightly with increasing horizontal acceleration; the overall thermal resistance of the heat pipe tends to decrease and then increase with increasing tilt angle.

Abstract Gas entrainment by free surface vortices in the Residual Heat Removal System (RHRS) would affect the safety of the reactor at the mid-loop operation for nuclear power plants. Thus, it is important to estimate the occurrence of this entrainment accurately. In this work, two-phase Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of a T-junction are performed. In the T-junction, the diameters of the branch/main pipes are 40/142.5 mm, and the lengths of the branch/main pipes are 3Db/6Dm. The Volume of Fluid (VOF) method and RNG k-ε model are employed in this simulation to get a clear gas-liquid interface. And, several cases of different flow rates at the mid-loop operation are studied. The simulation results could show the phenomena of free surface waves, the free surface vortex formation and evolution, gas entrainment by free surface vortex. At a low flow rate, the free surface in the main pipe is relatively stable with no wave, there is no occurrence of vortex core or vortex in the T-junction. With the flow rate increasing, the free surface in the main pipe begins to fluctuate, vortex core occurs below the free surface. It evolves downstream and disappears in the main pipe soon. The free surface waves in the main pipe become more intense when the flow rate continues to increase, and the free surface vortex begins to entrain air into the branch as the vortex core evolving downstream in the main pipe in a very short time. The phenomena of numerical simulation show a good agreement with experimental results. In this paper, physical fields are also analyzed to determine the effect and mechanism of the gas entrainment by free surface vortices.
