AbstractWe present 3D zero-beta ideal MHD simulations of the solar flare/CME event that occurred in Active Region 11060 on 2010 April 8. The initial magnetic configurations of the two simulations are stable nonlinear force-free field and unstable magnetic field models constructed by Su et al. (2011) using the flux rope insertion method. The MHD simulations confirm that the stable model relaxes to a stable equilibrium, while the unstable model erupts as a CME. Comparisons between observations and MHD simulations of the CME are also presented.

The Bribery Act (BA) became law in the UK on 8 April 2010 after decades of work to update the anti-bribery laws in the state which are perceived to be archaic, ineffective and not in line with the demands of the modern global economy. The BA covers bribery globally, redefines the substantive criminal facets of bribery and creates a new bribery offence with liability for institutions when its representatives or employees partake in bribery domestically or overseas. As lack of knowledge of the new Act is not a defence to a bribery offence, it would be beneficial for corporations to update their understanding of this issue to facilitate an effective update of their compliance procedures.

The Fossil Insect Network was created 33 years ago in 1996 in Strasbourg, France, under the auspices of the European Science Foundation. Since then, several meetings were organised: 1998—First International Palaeoentomological Conference in Moscow, Russia; 1998—World Congress on Amber Inclusions in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Country, Spain; 2000—Brazilian Symposium on Palaeoarthropodology in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil; 2001—Second International Congress on Palaeoentomology, Fossil Insects, Kraków, Poland. This Congress in Kraków was also the origination of the International Palaeoentomological Society. The year 2005 was very important as three meetings, i.e. the Palaeoentomological Conference, the World Congress on Amber Inclusions, and the International Meeting on Palaeoarthropodology were decided to merge together as Fossils X3. This decision was made in Pretoria, South Africa. Following the International Congresses on Fossil Insects, Arthropods and Amber, Fossils X3 continued in 2007—Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Country, Spain, 2010; in Beijing, China, 2013—Byblos, Lebanon; and 2016—Edinburgh, Scotland, where ‘International Fossil Insects Day’ was declared and is now celebrated on each 1st of October.

Nesta dissertação salientamos a importância que estes instrumentos revelam na prossecução do interesse público por parte da Administração Pública. Ademais, cumpre identificar quais as alterações sentidas com a revogação do Regime Excecional e temporário da Reabilitação de Edifícios, previsto no Decreto-Lei n.º 53/2014, de 8 de abril, promovido pela entrada em vigor do recente Regime de Reabilitação de Edifícios ou Frações Autónomas, consagrado no Decreto-Lei n.º 95/2019, de 18 de julho e tentar responder a algumas questões que surgiram com esta mudança legislativa.
Urban Rehabilitation and Building Rehabilitation are two forms of intervention in the territory enshrined in the scope of Urban Planning Law. In this dissertation we highlight the importance that these instruments reveal in the pursuit of public interest by the Public Administration. In addition, we identify which changes were felt with the withdrawal of the Exceptional and temporary Regime of Building Rehabilitation, foreseen on the Decree-Law n.º 53/2014, of April 8, promoted by the entry of the recent Regime of Building Rehabilitation or Autonomous Fractions, enshrined in the Decree-Law n.º 95/2019, of July 18, and try to answer some questions that arose with this legislative change.

AbstractThis chapter focuses on discursive strategies of legitimation in mainstream Malay-language newspapers during the 13th and 14th general election campaigns. It analyses how editorials and columns published in Berita Harian and Utusan Malaysia constructed arguments during the campaign periods from 20 April to 4 May 2013 and 28 April to 8 May 2018. The chapter examines how particular relations of power were enacted, reproduced and legitimised within Malaysia’s government-owned mainstream media, where control was institutionalised. To contextualise and illuminate the discursive and social practices of both campaigns, the analysis is grounded in the discourse-historical approach’s conception of argumentation and pragma-dialectics’ ten rules for rational dispute and constructive arguing. This chapter, therefore, looks at the argumentation strategies employed in editorials and columns serving as a methodical justification of validity claims reflected linguistically using speech acts. The findings demonstrate the politics of fear that characterises much of Malaysian right-wing rhetoric, particularly how fear of the future was employed by Barisan Nasional as it struggled to maintain and retain legitimacy during both campaigns.

AbstractThe experience of the development of inclusive education strategies in various countries has been the source of various conceptions and practices, which have gradually evolved into the axis of the education policy of the late twentieth and early twenty-first century. This chapter presents an overlook of insights that are significant for the practical implementation of inclusive education and substantiated by scientific research. As the perception of inclusive education developed from meeting special educational needs in general schools (Florian. Int J Incl Educ 23(7–8): 691–704. 10.1080/13603116.2019.1622801, 2019) to recognising the variety of needs of all students (Meyer et al. Universal design for learning: theory and practice. CAST, 2014), the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach was presented to the pedagogical circles. Chapter 6 features Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s announcement on 8 April 2013 that the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) had changed its name to the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS). Emerging as leader in May 2010, Baghdadi was pivotal in continuing the group’s revival in Iraq. However, when the Arab Spring reached neighboring Syria in early 2011, within months war had broken out and, in January 2012, Baghdadi sent ISI members to join the war effort. Under the title of Jabhat al-Nusra (JN) and the leadership of Abu Muhammad al-Jawlani, they quickly built a reputation for their military prowess and outreach strategies but their link to ISI was publicly unknown. When Baghdadi declared that JN was an extension of his group in his 2013 announcement, it had seismic effects for the global jihad triggering a bitter conflict between ISIS and al-Qaida.

Malaria is currently affecting more people in the world than any other disease. On average, two members of each household suffered from malaria fever monthly, with females and children being most vulnerable to malaria attacks. This chapter assessed communities' perception about malaria epidemic, weather variable and climate change in metropolitan Kano. Information was extracted related to communities' perception about malaria epidemic and climate change. Socio demographic characteristics of respondents in the study areas were extracted and analyzed. 75% of the participants were males, while 25% were females, malaria disease affected 79.66% and 59.66% respondent perceived that heavy rainfall, floods and high temperature are better conditions to the breeding and spread of malaria vectors. Hospital records revealed that Month of March and April (2677 and 2464, respectively) has highest number of malaria cases recorded between December 2010 to June 2011. Further research is recommended for in-depth information from health officials related to raising awareness.

Smart education has sparked substantial scholarly interest. The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent acceleration of digital learning further underscore the importance of in-depth research in this area. The purpose of this study is to investigate the research that appears in the Scopus database and to give a comprehensive evaluation of literature published on smart education in order to identify historical and present trends as well as the future scope of research. The present study conducted a bibliometric analysis of the research articles related to smart education published in scopus from 2010 to April 2023 (articles, review papers, and conference papers in social sciences and business, management, and accounting domains) The results indicate a rapid increase in the number of publications and citations in the field, as well as the emergence of new research topics and themes. The findings of this study provide insights into the current state of research on smart education and identify potential areas for future research.

Extended Abstract and [has] the potential to stimulate local and regional economies” (p.3). A city centre or town centre has been recognised as the beating heart and public legacy of an urban fabric either in a small town, medium-sized city, metropolis or megalopolis. Within this spectrum of scales, city centres’ scopes significantly vary in the global context while considering the physical as well as the intangible and the spiritual features. Concerns such as the overall dimensions, skyline, density and compactness, variety of functions and their distribution, comfort, safety, accessibility, resilience, inclusiveness, vibrancy and conviviality, and the dialectics of modernity and traditionalism are only some examples that elucidate the existing complexities of city centres in a city of any scale (overall dimension) (for further details see for instance Behzadfar, 2007; Gehl, 20210; Gehl and Svarre, 2013; Hambleton, 2015; Lacey et al., 2013; Madanipour, 2010; Roberts, 2013). Regardless of the issue of the context, Gehl (2010) define city centres as interconnected with new concepts such as “better city space, more city life” and “lively and attractive hub for the inhabitants” (pp. 13–15). Roberts (2006) explains the notion of a city centre or town centre as a space “in which human interaction and therefore creativity could flourish”. According to her, the point can realise by creating or revitalising 24-hour city policies that can omit the “‘lagerlout’ phenomenon, whereby drunken youths dominated largely empty town centres after dark” (pp. 333–334). De Certeau (1984) explains that a city and subsequently a city centre is where “the ordinary man, a common hero [is] a ubiquitous character, walking in countless thousands on the streets” (p. V). Paumier (2004) depicts a city centre particularly a successful and a vibrant one as “the focus of business, culture, entertainment … to seek and discover… to see and be seen, to meet, learn and enjoy [which] facilitates a wonderful human chemistry … for entertainment and tourism These few examples represent a wide range of physical, mental and spiritual concerns that need to be applied in the current and future design and planning of city centres. The term ‘concern’, here, refers to the opportunities and potentials as well as the problems and challenges. On the one hand, we —the academics and professionals in the fields associated with urbanism— are dealing with theoretical works and planning documents such as short-to-long term masterplans, development plans and agendas. On the other hand, we are facing complicated tangible issues such as financial matters of economic growth or crisis, tourism, and adding or removing business districts/sections. Beyond all ‘on-paper’ or ‘on-desk’ schemes and economic status, a city centre is experienced and explored by many citizens and tourists on an everyday basis. This research aims to understand the city centre from the eyes of an ordinary user —or as explained by De Certeau (1984), from the visions of a “common hero”. In a comparative study and considering the scale indicator, the size of one city centre might even exceed the whole size of another city. However, within all these varieties and differences, some principal functions perform as the in-common formative core of city centres worldwide. This investigation has selected eight similar categories of these functions to simultaneously investigate two different case study cities of Tehran and Belfast. This mainly includes: 1) an identity-based historical element; 2) shopping; 3) religious buildings; 4) residential area; 5) network of squares and streets; 6) connection with natural structures; 7) administrative and official Buildings; and 8) recreational and non-reactional retail units. This would thus elaborate on if/how the dissimilarities of contexts manifest themselves in similarities and differences of in-common functions in the current city centres. With a focus on the age-gender indicator, this investigation studies the sociocultural aspect of inclusiveness and how it could be reflected in future design and planning programmes of the case study cities. In short, the aim is to explore the design and planning guidelines and strategies —both identical and divergent— for Tehran and Belfast to move towards sociocultural inclusiveness and sustainability. In this research, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the studies of the current situation of inclusiveness in Belfast city centre have remained as incomplete. Thus, this presentation would like to perform either as an opening of a platform for potential investigations about Belfast case study city or as an invitation for future collaborations with the researcher for comparative studies about age-gender inclusiveness in city centres worldwide. In short, this research tries to investigate the current situation by identifying unrecognised opportunities and how they can be applied in future short-to-long plans as well as by appreciating the neglected problems and proposing design-planning solutions to achieve age-gender inclusiveness. The applied methodology mainly includes the direct appraisal within a 1-year timespan of September 2019 – September 2020 to cover all seasonal and festive effects. Later, however, in order to consider the role of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the direct appraisal was extended until January 2021. The complementary method to the direct appraisal is the photography to fast freeze the moments of the ordinary scenes of the life of the case study city centres (John Paul and Caponigro Arts, 2014; Langmann and Pick, 2018). The simultaneous study of the captured images would thus contribute to better analyse the age-gender inclusiveness in the non-interfered status of Tehran and Belfast. The LHD 8 amphibious assault ship utilizes a hybrid propulsion plant, where the ship has the capability to be propelled by electric propulsion motors or gas turbine engines all of which is controlled and monitored by a state-of-the-art Machinery Control System (MCS). Unlike the previous ships of the class which were steam powered, the hybrid drive is designed to allow economical low speed fuel efficiency on electric motors as well as a traditional gas turbine power plant for all other mission areas. This will yield significant fuel savings over the life of the ship. The integrated machinery control system is likewise expected to reduce life cycle costs through reduced manning. After a successful series of sea trials, the LHD 8, Makin Island was delivered to the US Navy on April 2009 and departed the builders’ yard in July 2009 for a transit around the tip of South America to her homeport of San Diego, CA. The paper discusses the results of Builders and Acceptance Trials as well as the in-service experience of the ship on her maiden voyage. Examples are given of predicted vs. expected fuel consumption rates, design issues encountered and corrective measures taken as well as feedback from operators on the overall machinery plant design the MCS and its ease of operation. Included in the paper are ship drawings, photos and diagrams.

Combined heat and power (CHP) systems are widely used considering the prevention of global climate change and the reduction of energy costs. In distributed CHP systems, both high efficiency of elements and good coordination of the systems are considered as the points to solve. We had been researched and demonstrated the micro gas turbine CHP system with heat storage at Sapporo City University from April 2006 to March 2010. At first, the start times of microturbine (MGT) and heat storage system (HST) was set up by schedule timers. In 2008 the schedule timers were substituted to a new programmable logic controller (PLC) and the start times of MGT and HST were calculated as the function of temperature outside and room temperature. Setting the start time of MGT at maximum 5 hours before 8:00 and interlocking relays of HST on MGT, the start times were calculated from temperature outside and room temperature at 21:00 the day before. Control of start time using PLC was demonstrated from Feb. 21, 2009 to June 1 and from Nov. 16 to Jan. 7, 2010. It is shown the time series data of temperature and analysis of the CHP with the original boiler heating system.

The first works on the act on housing cooperatives appeared in mid-2019. Work on the project of the then Ministry of Investment and Development was interrupted by the election calendar. The second attempt took place in 2020 (draft act of April 9, 2020 on housing cooperatives). The project is part of the concept contained in the National Housing Program. During the consultations, a number of comments and opinions were received. According to, inter alia, The original draft of the Government Legislation Center contained the statutory privilege of cooperatives over other entities operating in the field of housing construction. For this reason, it was necessary to prepare a new draft act on housing cooperatives and the rules for the sale of real estate belonging to the municipal real estate resource in order to support the implementation of housing investments, which appeared on July 21, 2021. on a voluntary association of people who pursue their housing goals. The project relates not only to housing cooperatives, but also to newly established housing cooperatives.

Objectives: The objective of our present study was to evaluate the efficacy of radical vaginectomy with or without radical hysterectomy in patients with FIGO stage I and II vaginal cancers. Materials and Methods: A retrospective study was carried out on 13 patients aged 35 – 78 years. All the patients underwent radical surgery for vaginal cancer from April 2010 till June 2015. Kaplan- meier analyses was used to calculate the disease free survival and overall survival at 12 months. Results: The mean age of patients was 54.9 years. Twelve patients were with FIGO stage I while one had stage II vaginal cancer. The histopathology was squamous cell cancer in 9 patients, small cell neuroendocrine cancer in two patients and malignant melanoma in 2 patients. The lesion was confined to upper 2/3 of vagina in 8 cases and lower 1/3 was involved in 5 cases. All the patients underwent radical surgery. Lymph node dissection was done in eleven patients out of whom lymph nodes were positive in 4 patients. Three patients had positive margins. Adjuvant treatment was given to patients with positive margins or positive nodes. Six patients did not require any adjuvant treatment and two patients defaulted adjuvant treatment. One patient developed Vesico-vaginal fistula. Over a follow up period ranging from 6 to 67 months, recurrence developed in two patients and one of them died of disease. The 12 months Disease free survival was 82.1% and 12 months Overall Survival was 90.9%. Conclusion: Stage I and selected stage II vaginal cancer patients have good outcomes in terms of survival and local tumor control if managed judiciously by initial surgery followed by selective adjuvant therapy.

The article presents selected methodological assumptions of developing and evaluating landscape attribute maps that could be used in the process of the implementation of the European Landscape Convention (ELC). The Convention led to the passing of the Act of 24th April 2015 on the modification of some acts due to the enhancement of landscape protection tools. Article 7 implements changes in the Act of 23rd March 2003 on spatial planning and land use management. Determining general rules for landscape auditing and defining the priority landscape are elements of the changes. On 11th September 2015, the regulations that partially carry out the recommendation of the Convention entered into force. The regulations oblige local governments to conduct landscape auditing (not less often than every 20 years). The article presents a new method for evaluating the aesthetic-scenic value of landscape (EEVL), developed by the author on the basis of conceptual works done between 2004 and 2008. Tests of this method started in 2008. Then an assessment of the aesthetic value of the municipality of Pozezdrze in the Masurian Lake District was made. The three measurements, collected in 2008, 2012 and 2016, were then used in comparing the dynamics of landscape transformations considering the aesthetic value over 8 years. The research enabled the assessment of the usefulness of the method in landscape auditing.

In spite of popularity of the Gaussian distribution in financial modeling, we demonstrated that Levy’s stable distribution is more suitable due to its theoretical reasons and analysis results. We study the possibility of construction indicators- precursors relying on one of the most power-law tailed distributions - Levy’s stable distribution. Here, we apply moving window based procedure for calculation of Levy’s parameters - a - stability and /?- skewness for daily values of Dow Jones Industrial Average (from 1 March 2000 to 28 March 2019), the gold price (from 1 April 1968 to 8 May 2019) and Brent crude oil price (from 2 January 1986 to 6 May 2019) which show their effectiveness as indicators of crisis states. For the construction of the indicators, were selected time series of and, accordingly, for oil. Dow Jones’ time series has the period from 2 January 1920 to 2019. We conclude that a and /3 parameters of Levy’s stable distribution of the observed assets, which demonstrate characteristic behavior for crash and critical states, can serve as an indicator-precursors of the unstable states.

Forskningsprojektet har indsamlet data i perioden april 2020 til august 2020, og særligt i perioden fra midt april til juni, hvor alle landets daginstitutioner genåbnede efter cirka en måneds nedlukning af landets offentlige institutioner som følge af regeringens retningslinjer. Der er ligeledes indsamlet data i perioden august til oktober 2020, og igen i perioden januar til februar 2021. Der er således tale om tre empiriske nedslag hen over cirka et år af pandemiens forløb i relation til daginstitutionsledere og pædagogisk personale i landets daginstitutioner. De data, der ligger til grund for denne rapport, omfatter en spørgeskemaundersøgelse rettet mod daginstitutionsledere og en spørgeskemaundersøgelse rettet mod pædagogisk personale i daginstitutioner, geografisk fordelt over hele landet. Fælles for spørgeskemaundersøgelserne er et fokus på at udforske, hvordan daginstitutioner har arbejdet under COVID-19 pandemien, dels under selve nedlukningen i marts-april, hvor flere af landets daginstitutioner har fungeret som nødpasning, særligt for forældre med kritiske samfundsfunktioner, og dels under genåbningsfaserne, der officielt blev påbegyndt i midten af april og især har forløbet hen over forår og tidlig sommer 2020. Derudover er der ad to omgange foretaget en række forskningsinterview med daginstitutionsledere. INTRODUCTION: Given the increased risk for infections among pregnant patients and newborns, vaccination against influenza (>50,000,000 annual US cases affecting all ages) and pertussis (>15,000 annual US cases disproportionately affecting newborns) are recommended among pregnant patients in order to protect them and their babies via passive immunity to cover a newborn’s window of vaccine ineligibility. Though flu and Tdap vaccination rates among pregnant patients have been trending upwards nationally, there is still room for improvement to achieve optimal rates. OBJECTIVES: The primary objectives were to study factors that affect the vaccination rates at the University of Tennessee Family Medicine Clinic at Memphis (UTFMC-M), compare those rates with national pregnancy flu/Tdap vaccination rates, and to generate recommendations based off observed factors associated with vaccine uptake to improve flu/Tdap vaccination rates in UTFMC-M pregnant patients. METHODS: This was a retrospective chart review of UTFMC-M patients who were pregnant from September 1, 2019-April 24, 2020 (included 2019-2020 flu season) (n=465). Variables studied included demographic data (race, age, insurance), immunization history (vaccine status, history of physician encouragement), and prenatal history (parity, number of prenatal visits, trimester at first visit, high risk clinic (HRC) admittance status). Vaccination status was based on ACIP recommendations (Flu shot eligible = any gestational age; Tdap eligible = ≥27 weeks). Positive HRC admittance was noted for patients with ≥2 visits to the UTFMC-M HRC, a clinic that specializes in high risk pregnant patient care. RESULTS: The patient sample was predominantly black (84.3%) and insured by Medicaid programs (88%). Among eligible UTFMC-M pregnant patients, 50.1% were flu-vaccinated (n=465); 73.8% were Tdap-vaccinated (n=317); and 52.1% were Flu+Tdap-vaccinated (n=317). No significant associations were found between vaccine uptake and HRC status, parity, and age. However, statistically significant relationships were found between vaccine uptake and physician encouragement (positive relationship with flu shot: X2(1, N = 465) =131, p < 0.001, Tdap: X2 (6, N = 465) =476, p < 0.001), number of prenatal visits (flu shot group median 8 visits, Tdap group median 9 visits vs. unvaccinated group median 4 visits; p < 0.001), and early trimester age at first prenatal visit (X2(6, N = 465) =47.635 , p CONCLUSION: 2019-2020 UTFMC-M vaccination rates were on par with 2018-2019 US flu vaccine rates and higher than 2018-2019 US Tdap and Flu+Tdap rates. There were statistically significant relationships between vaccine uptake at UTFMC-M and physician encouragement, number of prenatal visits, and early trimester age at first prenatal visit but no significant relationships with UTFMC-M HRC admittance, parity, or age. Recommendations following from our observations to address further vaccine rate improvement include: continue vaccine encouragement, continue booking multiple visits (8 for flu, 9 for Tdap), prioritize Tdap vaccine higher for late trimester intake patients, and focus on flu vaccine encouragement and education.
