В статье исследуется музыка Авенира де Монфреда (1903–1974) к мультфильмам польско-французского кинорежиссёра Валериана Боровчика (1923–2006). Сотрудничество де Монфреда и Боровчика длилось на протяжении 1960-х годов, за это время в тандеме режиссёра и композитора было создано четыре разных по жанру, графике, драматургии и звуковому оформлению работы: «Ренессанс» (1963), «Энциклопедия бабушки в 13 томах» (1963), «Концерт месье и мадам Кабаль» (1964), «Театр месье и мадам Кабаль» (1967). В наследии композитора киномузыка не была превалирующим видом творчества, однако основные черты стиля де Монфреда в области академической музыки прослеживаются и в его киноработах. The article examines the music of Avenir de Monfred (1903–1974) for cartoons by Polish-French film director Walerian Borowczyk (1923–2006). The collaboration between de Monfred and Borowczyk lasted throughout the 1960s, when four works of different genres, graphics, drama and sound design were created in tandem with the director and composer: “Renaissance” (1963), “Encyclopedia of the Grandmother in 13 Volumes” (1963), “Concert of Monsieur and Madame Cabal” (1964), “The Theater of Monsieur and Madame Cabal” (1967). In the legacy of the film composer, music was not the predominant type of creativity, but the main features of de Monfred's style in the field of academic music can be traced in his film works.

Stephen L. Wood re-defined Platypus such that its members are native to realms outside of the Americas and transferred most Neotropical species out of that genus. I have come across 44 species that still remain, though, and these are treated here. In total, I report 49 new generic assignments, 30 of which are transfers out of Platypus. I propose 22 new synonymies, eight of which are Platypus species that are synonymized with previously transferred species. Six Neotropical species are left in Platypus, for reasons detailed in the text. These taxonomic acts affect the compositions of eight of the 11 Neotropical genera of core Platypodinae. These taxonomic changes prepare the foundations for future revisionary work on the American Platypodinae.

Plumes can emit from stacks of power plants, refineries and so on. Plume rise depends on multiple factors including stack exit diameter, exhaust gas velocity, effluent temperature, wind speed, lapse rate etc. Increased stack height because of plume rise plays a significant part in reducing ground level concentrations of air pollutants in downwind direction. Various equations have been proposed for prediction of plume rise such as Holland (1953), Rauch (1962), Briggs (1965) etc. In the present paper a plume rise formula was derived from the Rauch (1962) and Lucas-Moore-Spurr (1963) equations. The results revealed that: 1) the derived equation calculated plume rise more accurately than the Stone and Clarke (1967), Lucas-Moore-Spurr (1963) and Csanady (1961) formulas, 2) the derived formula overestimated plume rise by a factor of approximately two and 3) the coefficient of heat emission rate played a key role in calculation of plume rise.

Long-term variability of the cold subsurface water (CSW) in the Okhotsk Sea is analyzed on the base of all available oceanographic data collected in March through August of 1946-2015 (total 65,742 stations). The Integral Heat Content (IHC) is calculated for each station and average annual IHC anomalies of the cold subsurface water are determined by month and by 2-degree grid. The IHC anomaly series are analyzed using the EOF analysis. Cycles with period of approximately 30 years are revealed in the variations of the subsurface layer heat content. Thus, in the 1946-1950, its temperature decreased, but it grew since 2009-2010 to 2015. The warming of CSW was also observed in the 1951-1964 and 1978-1994, while the cooling was in the 1965-1977 and 1995-2008. Based on this criterion, the CSW thermal condition in certain years is classified as «extremely cold» in 2001, as «cold» in 1949, 1950, 1951, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1966, 1967, 1969, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1999, 2000, 2010, 2012, as «normal» in 1946, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1957, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1975, 1979, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, as «warm» in 1948, 1956, 1964, 1968, 1974, 1981, 1984, 1987, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1997, 2015, and as «extremely warm» in 1963. Statistically significant correlation is found between changes of the CSW thermal conditions and long-term variations of atmosphere and ocean climate indices, as well as local patterns of the atmosphere-ice-ocean interaction in the Okhotsk Sea and adjacent onshore and offshore areas of Asia and the Pacific Ocean.

The formation of the island of Surtsey over 3.5 years, remains one of the best-documented volcanic, island-forming eruptions to date. The basaltic submarine volcanic activity was detected on November 14, 1963, where ocean depth was 130 m prior to the eruption at the southern end of the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago. The eruptions occurred in several phases involving explosive and effusive activity, including the initial submarine phase on November 12–13, 1963. Separate phases of subaerial volcanic activity occurred during November 14, 1963–January 1964, January–April 1964, April 1964–May 1965, May–October 1965, December 1965–August 1966, and August 1966–June 1967. Seismic data quality from this period is inferior compared to that of modern monitoring systems. Four permanent seismic stations were operated in Iceland at the time, whereof only two, located at 115 and 140 km distance, had the sensitivity to record tremor from Surtsey. Nevertheless, the scanned analog seismograms (http://seismis.hi.is/) show that the eruptive activity was accompanied by considerable seismic activity, both earthquakes, and volcanic tremor. Earthquakes were primarily associated with changes in vent location. Both spasmodic and harmonic tremor was identified, both with low (<3 Hz) and higher (3–5 Hz) characteristic frequencies. The results indicate a complicated relationship between tremor and magma flow rate or style of activity. During the explosive eruption, the highest magma flow rates occurred in the first 10–20 days, a period with little observed tremor. The highest tremor is observed in December 1963–March 1964, after the discharge rates had dropped substantially, and on a timescale of hours-to-days, no clear relationship between tremor and eruption style is observed. The same applies to the effusive activity, where no seismic tremor was observed during most of the effusive eruption of Surtungur, despite the fact that magma flow rates were ~3 times higher than during later phases where some tremor was observed. We review the current state of taxonomy of the oribatid mite genus Metabelba Grandjean, 1936 (Damaeidae) and present an amended generic diagnosis. In contrast to Subías (2004) we consider Allobelba Kunst, 1961 and Neobelba BulanovaZachvatkina, 1967 as separate genera, not subgenera of Metabelba. We consider the subgenus Metabelba (Parametabel- ba) Mihelčič, 1964, to be a nomen nudum and propose a new subgenus—Metabelba (Pateribelba) n. subg., with type species Metabelba (Pateribelba) sphagni Strenzke, 1950—to replace it. Pateribelba n. subg. includes species of Metabelba without the propodolateral apophysis. Together with the type species, the following named species (new combinations) belong to this subgenus: Metabelba (Pateribelba) italica (Sellnick, 1931); M. (P.) romandiolae (Sellnick, 1943); M. (P.) platynotus Grandjean, 1954; M. (P.) ericius Kunst, 1957; M. (P.) rhodopeia Kunst, 1961; M. (P.) filippovi Bulanova-Zachvatkina, 1965; M. (P.) flagelliseta Bulanova-Zachvatkina, 1965; M. It was found in Central Bohemia (Czech Republic), Upper Silesia (Poland) and South Tyrol (Italy). Metabelba romandiolae and M. sphagni are redescribed and illustrated. Metabelba gladiator Mihelčič, 1963 is considered to be junior synonym of M. romandiolae. Metabelba lanceolata van der Hammen, 1952 is considered to be a junior synonym of M. sphagni. We also provide a ten-tative diagnostic key of the known species of Metabelba (Pateribelba) n. subg., based on detailed study of available species and a review of literature data.

The species considered in the genus Rhizopulvinaria were revised on the base of morphological and ecological data. Significant intraspecific morphological variability was shown for Rh. artemisiae s. l. The mode of life and reproductive biology of this species is briefly discussed. Este artigo descreve e analisa as mudanças da linguagem visual religiosa da revista Cruz de Malta Marcha no ano 1962 que surgem junto com um novo lema da revista, “Juventude em luta para um mundo melhor”. Como base se comparou capas dos anos 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963 e 1964 e alguns exemplos do uso do desenho gráfico nas edições da revista de 1962. Percebe-se como a tentativa de estender as fronteiras da atuação da igreja incluindo um diálogo sobre os problemas mais urgentes globais e nacionais da época rompe com padrões da cultura visual que antecipam os anos 70 e 80 por um breve momento. O rápido desaparecimento dessa linguagem religiosa visual vanguarda depois um ano parece hoje como antecipação ou pré-anúncio dos eventos que acabam preparando a ditatura militar brasileira de 1964.

Background: Many modern pharmaceutical products were launched during 1950–1980, as reflected in advertisements in the British Medical Journal ( BMJ). One of the first therapeutic areas to benefit from novel effective medications was psychiatry. Methods: We examined BMJ advertising material between 1950 and 1980, including every other issue over six-month periods (October–March) in 1950/1951, 1955/1956, 1957/1958, 1960/1961, 1962/1963, 1965/1966, 1967/1968, 1970/1971, 1972/1973, 1975/1976, 1980/1981. We recorded numbers of adverts for all pharmaceutical products and for psychiatric drugs; we also recorded trade names, generic names and marketing company. Results: Advertising in BMJ peaked in the 1960s and declined markedly in the 1970s. Adverts for psychiatric drugs as a percentage of total pharmaceutical product advertising was broadly similar during 1955–1980, but with peaks in 1960/1961, 1970/1971 and 1975/1976, reflecting the entry of several novel compounds into the market. The peak marketing of antipsychotic drugs, sedatives and anxiolytic drugs was in 1960 and of antidepressants 1970. The time course of the rise of tricyclics and the switch from barbiturates to benzodiazepines can be seen. Drugs for psychiatry rose from ninth (1955/1956) to fourth (1975/1976) in terms of the number of products in the top 10 therapeutic areas. There is no evidence that they were advertised more aggressively (number of adverts/number of products). Conclusions: The birth of modern psychopharmacology is reflected in th e advertising of psychiatric drugs in BMJ. Many drugs currently used, or their closely related successors, were launched in the early to mid-1960s. This rise in modern pharmaceuticals preceded several other major therapeutic areas.

توضح هذه الدراسة طبيعة الدبلوماسية بين الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وبلغاريا التي بدأت في عام 1903، وقد تم تعليقها من عام 1941 إلى عام 1947، ولكن بعد عدة مشكلات قطعتها الولايات المتحدة مع بلغاريا في عام 1950، إذ بدأت الاخيرة عدت محاولات لإعادة العلاقات والتي تكللت بعودتها عام 1959، ولكن لم يتم فتح المفوضية إلا في عام 1960، ورغم عودة العلاقات لكنها لم تكن بمستوى جيد من التطور والاستقرار خصوصاً بعد تعرقل عملية تسوية المطالبات المالية الامريكية، ومطالب بلغاريا الحصول على حقوق الدولة الاولى بالرعاية التجارية، ولكن اكثر ما اثر في استقرار تلك العلاقة ردود الافعال البلغارية على الازمات التي حدثت خلال عام 1961، منها التعرض لممثلي البعثة الدبلوماسية للمفوضية في واشنطن من مضايقات، وكذلك بسبب العملية الامريكية التي تعرضت لها كوبا من قبل الولايات المتحدة باسم (خليج الخنازير) وازمة جدار برلين، وكذلك خلال عام 1962، مما عرض المفوضية الامريكية في صوفيا إلى عدة تظاهرات غاضبة بسبب ازمة الصواريخ في كوبا، لتهدأ العلاقات مع وفاة الرئيس الامريكي جون كينيدي 1963.

As preparation for a revision of the Neotropical genera Adelopsis Portevin, 1907, Paulipalpina Gnaspini and Peck, 1996, and Parapaulipalpina Gnaspini, 1996, we review and redescribe the earlier named species and code characters of their genitalia. These characters are then used to redefine species groups. (all from Brazil), Paulipalpina consuelo sp. n. from Peru, Adelopsis portevini sp. n. and Paulipalpina aragua sp. n. from Venezuela, and Paulipalpina coatepec sp. n. from Mexico. Iutururuca Gnaspini, 1993, described as a subgenus of Adelopsis, is here considered a junior synonym of Adelopsis Portevin, 1907, which is defined as having no subgenera.

Vasile Voiculescu (1884-1963), besides being a well-known writer, was also a prominent, much respected physician who practiced between the two world wars. He attended the courses of the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy in Bucharest for a year (1902-1903), but gave up on them in order to attend the Faculty of Medicine. The literary debut took place in 1912 in the journal Convorbiri literare. He published the first volume of lyrical poems in 1916 and in 1918 he was granted the Academy Award for lyrical volume From the Aurochs Country and other poems. In 1935 he became a member of the Academy of Sciences of Romania and in 1941 he received the National Poetry Prize. The following volumes of poems are: Ripeness (1921), Poems with Angels (1927), Destiny (1933), Ascent (1937), Gleams (1939). His work also includes a short story: The Demiurge (1943). Shakespeare's last imaginative sonnets in Vasile Voiculescu’s translation (1964), and the novel Zahei-The blind (1966), Sentimental Gymnastics (1972) are published posthumously. The present article is aimed at revealing the world of Voiculescu’s short stories.

Semashko National Research Institute of Public Health, e-mail: spglyantsev@mail.ru Received: August 08, 2018 Accepted for publication: September 12, 2018 The article presents the evidence of a scientific revolution in transplantology that occurred in the world in 1960-1964 with the shift of the paradigm from the impossibility of homoplastic organ transplants to the hope on their feasibility. It began in 1960 with awarding the Nobel Prize to P. Medawar and F. Burnet for the discovery of artificial immunological tolerance, it had its continuation in 1961–1962 with the advances in experimental transplantation of vital organs undertaken in conditions of mechanical circulation (R. Lower, N. Shumway) and immunosuppression (K. Reemstma), and completed with human transplantations of lung in 1963 and of heart in 1964 (J. Hardy). In those years, the concept of mechanical support for an ill heart by using an implanted mechanical assist device was developed and introduced (1963). But even against that background, V.P. Demikhov's achievements in homologous organ transplantation and the development of biological techniques to overcome tissue incompatibility looked impressive. His highest achievement was the transplantation of a supplemental heart to the dog Grishka in June 1962, and the dog survived with it for 141 days. However, after the discoveries in the field of transplantation immunity, the train of experimental transplantation where V.P. Demikhov was riding, began picking up speed very quickly, and the Soviet surgeons were to jump on its footboard.

Between June 1959 and March 1964, the democratic governments of Brazilian presidents Juscelino Kubitschek (January 1956 – January 1961), Janio Quadros (January–August 1961), Ranieri Mazzilli (August–September 1961) and João ‘Jango’ Goulart (September 1961 – April 1964) received no support from the World Bank (WB), which refused to fund even a single new project during this period. During this same period, and, more specifically, between July 1958 and January 1965, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the WB's twin institution, granted financial assistance to Brazil only twice: a controversial and highly conditional Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) signed in May 1961; and a non-conditional and automatically approved Compensatory Financial Facility (CFF), granted in May 1963 to compensate Brazil for the decrease in coffee prices on the international market.This attitude towards Brazil changed significantly following the military coup of March 1964. Money flowed into the country and by 1970 Brazil had become the largest receiver of WB funds and a chronic borrower from the IMF, signing two SBAs in 1965, and one per year between 1966 and 1972. We use recently disclosed material from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank archives to analyse the relationship of these two institutions with Brazil and to foster the debate on their political neutrality, arguing that the difference in the IMF's and especially the WB's relations with the military regime reflected, more than anything else, the existence of an ideological affinity between the parties with regards to the ‘right’ economic policy.

The types of Xyleborus nagaoensis Murayama, 1934, and X. ohtoensis Nobuchi, 1981 were examined and are confirmed to be correctly placed in Xyleborus. Lectotypes are designated for Xyleborus ishidai Niisima, 1909, and Xyleborus septentrionalis Niisima, 1909.

Η εξέταση των ελληνο-νατοϊκών σχέσεων μέσα από τα κινηματογραφικά επίκαιρα της περιόδου 1961-1968 αναδεικνύει τον τρόπο με τον οποίο η επίσημη, εκλαϊκευμένη, κρατική προπαγάνδα αντανακλά την ελληνική κυρίαρχη αντίληψη για το ΝΑΤΟ και τον ρόλο του. Στη διετία 1961-1963 οι αναφορές στο ΝΑΤΟ είναι συχνές και «ενθουσιώδεις», το 1964 (καθώς ξεσπά νέα κρίση στο Κυπριακό) οι αναφορές περιορίζονται, το 1965 απουσιάζουν εντελώς, τα επόμενα δύο χρόνια είναι σύντομες, ενώ τα δύο πρώτα χρόνια της δικτατορίας ακόμη και δευτερεύοντα νατοϊκά ζητήματα προβάλλονται εκτενώς. Η εναλλαγή κυβερνήσεων επέφερε ελάσσονες αλλαγές στην προβολή του ΝΑΤΟ. Υπήρχαν, όμως, κάποιες αμετάβλητες σταθερές, κυρίως η θέση ότι η συμμαχία, πρωτεργάτης της ειρήνης και της ευημερίας, εγγυά- ται την εδαφική ακεραιότητα της χώρας. Η εξέλιξη της κρατικής προπαγάνδας καταδεικνύει ότι το ΝΑΤΟ αποτέλεσε σταθερή πολιτική επιλογή όλων των πολιτικών δυνάμεων που άσκησαν εξουσία κατά τη δεκαετία του 1960.

Diosdado Macapagal, Philippine President from 1961-1965, whose career was made rich by working in the foreign service, belonged to a tradition of championing a Foreign Policy shaped under America’s tutelage, adhering to democratic ideals, dismissive of Communism, and indifferent to neutralism and non-alignment. While various groups branded this policy as one of mendicancy that jeopardized Philippine Independence itself, President Manuel Roxas, who instituted it in 1946, was given little to no option but to side with America. The Second World War’s apocalyptic results required prompt and massive reconstruction and industrialization, necessitating foreign aid. This study reveals a chapter in the Philippines’ Cold War History, which show instances of balancing the state of dependence on America with neo-realist postures. Macapagal worked for Land Reform to peacefully address Communism within and collaborated with America in the name of national security to counter possible foreign communist infiltration. In an anarchic world forged by Cold War developments, Macapagal secured US financial and military assistance and defended national interest in a neorealist posture to the point of championing views more orthodox and even contrary to that of America. Filipino’s preference for collaboration with America made the neo-colonial situation manageable at that time, to still reap whatever the superpower is willing to give while it promoted its own global agenda. X-ray diffraction and neutron spectra present a peak assembly whose maxima are centered at angles corresponding to Bragg's law.Analysis of diffracted intensity profiles in each peak can be used to estimate such morphologic characteristics of the samples as preferred orientation (Brindley and Kurtosy, 1961; Martin, 1966); crystallite sizes (Scherrer, 1919; Warren and Averbach, 1950; Wilson, 1962; and Guérin et al., 1986); and crystal shapes (Wilson, 1949). Such analysis can also be used to estimate the determination of residual stress and lattice defects (Warren and Averbach, 1950; Wilson, 1963). In such studies, a detailed analysis of the diffraction distribution is required and consequently adjustment of intensity values must be carried out, as they are affected by systematic errors in the measuring apparatus (for detailed description, see Klug and Alexander, 1974 and Wilson 1967).

Niyaz Kuramshevich Dautov (1913–1986) was a singer (lyric tenor), opera director, teacher, People’s Artist of the RSFSR (1957) and professor (1986). He was born in Kazan in 1913. In 1938, he graduated from the Tatar Opera Studio at the Moscow Conservatory. From 1939– 1943, he studied at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1953, he graduated from the Ural Conservatory. In 1943–1956 and 1960–1964, heworked as a soloist and director of the Sverdlovsk Opera and Ballet Theater. In 1965–1975, Dautov N. was the chief director of the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theater. In 1956–1960 and from 1975 to 1986, he worked as a soloist and the chief director of the Tatar Opera and Ballet Theater. In 1975–1986, he became the head of the Department of Opera Training at the Kazan Conservatory (since 1982 he was a professor).Niyaz Dautov was an Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1954), People’s Artist of the RSFSR (1957), Laureate of the TASSR G. The purpose of the article. The article identifies the main factors that influenced the formation and development of Mykola Malyshko’s artistic style in the context of the cultural and artistic processes of the 1960s. Methodology. The following scientific methods are combined: analytical, systematic, historico-cultural, contextual, comparative, and art analysis. The use of these methods allowed us to investigate the period of study of Mykola Malyshko at the Kyiv State Art Institute in 1961–1967, to outline the circle of communication of the artist, as well as to determine the characteristic features of his creative style. Scientific novelty. The work is the first fixation of unknown facts from the creative biography of Mykola Malyshko. Conclusions. During the studied period, Malyshko tries himself as an easel painter, monumental painter (mosaic), sculptor. After analyzing the currently existing information, namely «Svoboda, yak vyiavliaietsia, – tse volia dlia svavoli… : [besida Oleny Yehorushkinoi ta Pavla Hudimova z khudozhnykom M. O. Malyshko ta yoho druzhynoiu N. M. Denysovoiu], s. Maliutianka, Kyivskoi obl., 2012–2013 rr.», we can confidently assert that the main factors that influenced the formation and development of Mykola Malyshko’s artistic style in the 1960 s, were active participants in the activities of the club of creative youth «Suchasnyk» and attempts to move away from the methods of socialistic realism in art. This is clearly illustrated by: a mosaic portrait of T. G. Shevchenko made in 1961; exhibitions at the Taras Shevchenko Kiev State University 1963–1964; the development in 1967 of scenography on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Les Kurbas, which he implemented together with colleagues Viktor Grigorov and Viktor Ponomarev during his studies at the Kiev State Art Institute and in sketches from summer student practice in 1962 and 1964,that the artist himself considers significant in the formation of personal creative style.

Uroleucon cichorii (Insecta: Hemipteroidea: Rhynchota: Sternorrhyncha: Aphididae) is an invasive alien species in the fauna of Belarus. In 1854 the species has been described by C. L. Koch from Germany. For the first time U. cichorii has been noted in Great Britain in 1876, in Estonia – 1894, in Romania – 1896, in Italy – 1900, in Belgium – 1901, in Crimea – 1903, in Latvia – 1924, in Poland –1930, in Netherlands – 1939, in Finland – 1941, in Ukraine – 1945, in France – 1948, in Sweden – 1949, in Norway – 1953, in Denmark – 1954, in Moldavia – 1955, in Austria – 1956, in Czech – 1958, in Hungary – 1959, in Bulgaria – 1960, in European Russia – 1962–1964, in Bosnia and Herzegovina – 1963, in Serbia – 1963, in Lithuania – 1963–1980, in Macedonia – 1964, in Switzerland – 1967, in Spain – 1971, in Sicily –1973, in Corsica – 1973, in Balearic Islands (Mallorca) – 1982, in Belarus – 1986 and Greece – after 1992. It is obvious that this chronological list describes a history of aphidological research rather than spreading of the invider across the European regions. As considered, the species has Mediterranean origin. Outside of Europe the species is known from Near East as well as Central Asia, Korea and North America. As host plants U. cichorii s.str. uses common chicory (Cichorium intibus L.) and related species of Cichorieae (Asteraceae). The species is known as a pest of common chicory (including leaf chicory) and endive. For the first time U. cichorii has been registered in 1986. At present the species is common for C. intibus growing on roadsides and in other ruderal biotopes. During 1986–2018 U. cichorii has been registered in the all regions of the Republic of Belarus. The map of geographic points of registrations is given. It is obvious that the invider’s expansion in the regions of Belarus is finished. The species is holocyclic and monoecious. Feeding on forage plants contributes to the loss of a significant amount of plastic substances, which leads to their dehydration and slow growth, and, as a result, a slight deformation of the stem. Uroleucon cichorii (Insecta: Hemipteroidea: Rhynchota: Sternorrhyncha: Aphididae) is an invasive alien species in the fauna of Belarus. In 1854 the species has been described by C. L. Koch from Germany. For the first time U. cichorii has been noted in Great Britain in 1876, in Estonia – 1894, in Romania – 1896, in Italy – 1900, in Belgium – 1901, in Crimea – 1903, in Latvia – 1924, in Poland –1930, in Netherlands – 1939, in Finland – 1941, in Ukraine – 1945, in France – 1948, in Sweden – 1949, in Norway – 1953, in Denmark – 1954, in Moldavia – 1955, in Austria – 1956, in Czech – 1958, in Hungary – 1959, in Bulgaria – 1960, in European Russia – 1962–1964, in Bosnia and Herzegovina – 1963, in Serbia – 1963, in Lithuania – 1963–1980, in Macedonia – 1964, in Switzerland – 1967, in Spain – 1971, in Sicily –1973, in Corsica – 1973, in Balearic Islands (Mallorca) – 1982, in Belarus – 1986 and Greece – after 1992. It is obvious that this chronological list describes a history of aphidological research rather than spreading of the invider across the European regions. As considered, the species has Mediterranean origin. Outside of Europe the species is known from Near East as well as Central Asia, Korea and North America. As host plants U. cichorii s.str. uses common chicory (Cichorium intibus L.) and related species of Cichorieae (Asteraceae). The species is known as a pest of common chicory (including leaf chicory) and endive. For the first time U. cichorii has been registered in 1986. At present the species is common for C. intibus growing on roadsides and in other ruderal biotopes. During 1986–2018 U. cichorii has been registered in the all regions of the Republic of Belarus. The map of geographic points of registrations is given. It is obvious that the invider’s expansion in the regions of Belarus is finished. The species is holocyclic and monoecious. Feeding on forage plants contributes to the loss of a significant amount of plastic substances, which leads to their dehydration and slow growth, and, as a result, a slight deformation of the stem. Six species are (re-) described and illustrated: L. (s.str.) aterrima Lohse, 1967, L. (s.str.) balearica Lohse, 1967, L. (s.str.) lusitana Lohse, 1955, L. (s.str.) mariei Jarrige, 1963, L. (s.str.) mateui Jarrige, 1954, and L. (s.str.) osellai Zanetti & Shavrin, sp.n. (Portugal, Spain). The following new synonymies are established: L. (s.str.) fontinalis Kiesenwetter, 1850 = L. (s.str.) fontinalis gustavi Herman, 2001 syn.n., L. (s.str.) mateui = L. cazorlana Lohse, 1987 syn.n., L. (s.str.) pubescens Mannerheim, 1830 = L. fageli Lohse, 1960 syn.n. A lectotype is designated for L. (s.str.) fontinalis. Images of habitus and aedeagi of L. (s.str.) aterrima, L. (s.str.) balearica, L. (s.str.) cazorlana, L. (s.str.) fontinalis, L. The old Vilnius University was the craddle of vascular surgery in the Great Duchy of Lithuania. Several dissertations were written on vascular diseases and surgical technique in 1816–1825. But it was not until 1936 that an attempt to operate on blood vessels and perform angiography was made. In the period 1952–1956, only solitary operations of injured arteries and veins were performed. A. Dirsė was the first to start reconstructive surgery in cases of peripheral arterial disease (1961). He initiated the production of synthetic vascular grafts in Kaunas in 1960. These grafts were the best ones in the former Soviet Union. The unit for vascular surgery was established at the University in 1963 and from then on vascular surgery started its way to the most effective and popular specialty in this country. There are six vascular centers in Lithuania, performing about 3500 restorative procedures and about 500 radiological revascularizations per year. Luis García Berlanga es quizás el director más importante que el cine español ha dado. Sin embargo no es tan conocido internacionalmente como merece. Su espaldarazo internacional comienza en 1953, en el Festival de Cannes, donde obtiene dos premios con su genial filme "Bienvenido Mister Marshall" (1952). Entre ese año y 1981 el valenciano participa en varias ocasiones en los mejores certámenes cinematográficos del mundo: Cannes, Venecia, Berlín, y uno de sus mejores filmes, "Plácido" (1961), es nominado a los Oscar de Hollywood. Desde 1957, Caretas publicó la sección “Ají Molido”, a cargo del artista arequipeño Guillermo Osorio Oviedo, quien satirizó los diferentes problemas y tensiones políticas peruanos a través de sus caricaturas. La sección finalizó en octubre de 1968 y abarcó gran parte del segundo Gobierno de Manuel Prado (1956-1962), así como las elecciones generales de 1962 y 1963 y el primer Gobierno de Fernando Belaúnde Terry (1963-1968). Es así que, en el marco de las reformas electorales planteadas por Belaúnde, se volvieron a implementar las elecciones municipales, lo que dio lugar a dos comicios de este tipo durante su gestión: el primero en 1963 y el segundo en 1966. En el presente artículo nos centraremos en analizar los recursos formales e iconográficos que utilizó Guillermo Osorio en las caricaturas realizadas en el contexto electoral de 1966, al crear una campaña contra la candidatura de Jorge Grieve Madge.

It remains unclear whether coordination of wing and respiratory movements is universal among birds during flight (Tomlinson, 1963). However, it is certain that many species demonstrate some form of coordination between wing and respiratory movements (Marey, 1890; Groebbels, 1932; Zimmer, 1935; all cited in Hart and Roy, 1966; Tomlinson, 1957, 1963; Lord et al. 1962; Hart and Roy, 1966; Berger et al. 1970b; Butler et al. 1977; Butler and Woakes, 1980). Ratios of wing beat frequency to respiratory frequency (fw/fv) ranging from 1:1 to 5:1 have been described, some species showing variation in fw/fv (Lord et al. 1962; Berger et al. 1970b; Butler and Woakes, 1980).

The article discusses the perception of the Institute of Research and Social Studies (Ipês) in relation to the agrarian issue, between the years 1963 and 1966, aiming at analyzing the worldview of anti-communist groups in the 1960s. As its primary sources, the article deploys publications from the Institute itself, such as Reforma Agrária, Bases e Soluções, Reformas de Base: a posição do Ipês, Ipês Monthly Bulletins, and major newspapers. Ipês was an anti-communist group, formed by civilians and military, founded in 1961, whose members engaged in the articulation of the 1964 military coup. Sectaries of this organization, such as Paulo Assis Ribeiro, were incorporated into the Castello Branco government, participating in the formulation of the Land Statute (ASSIS, 2001; DREIFUSS, 2008). Ipês defended a program of changes for Brazil in opposition to the Base Reforms advocated by the João Goulart government. Carrying on with our mas-ter’s degree dissertation, entitled O discurso anticomunista do Ipês entre 1963-1966 [The anti-communist discourse of Ipês between 1963 and 1966], the article also analyzes the relation between the agrarian reform model defended by Ipês and its perspectives on the rural worker, as well as the connection of these pro-posals with its anti-communist conceptions, its doctrinal principles in defense of the Alliance for Progress and the Mater et Magistra letter, and its connection with the principles of the Escola Superior de Guerra [War College].

The lunar tides in earth current (viz., Telluric current) at Barrow (71° 18'N, 156°47'W) have been studied by using hourly values of N-S and E-W components for the period 1963-1965 and 1961-1962, respectively. The study shows that significant results can be obtained from data for even short periods of Telluric current. Further it has been found that there is good agreement between lunar semi-diurnal oscillations in earth currents (studied by Egedal and Rougerie) and Telluric current (present study).
