Testo completoThis study explores the representations of animals in Greek and Vietnamese literature, drawing on naturalistic, functional, and cultural analyses. The works examined include Aesop's Fables (Loayza edition), Babrius' Fables, and Phaedrus' Fables for the Greek corpus, and for the Vietnamese corpus: Kho tàng truyện cổ tích Việt Nam, Tục ngữ, ca dao, dân ca Việt Nam, and Lý trong dân ca người Việt. This research first identifies the animals featured in the works, then analyzes their symbolic, narrative, didactic, and aesthetic roles, their religious and mythological meanings, as well as their biological traits. The data are sorted thematically to allow for a comparison of the two traditions for the identification of common and divergent trends. The analysis of 2,490 zoonymes affords the building of an animal database that reveals the ambiguity of names, and that distinguishes animals of the two different faunas. This study aims to determine the animal representatives that are credible for examination and to delineate 52 animal representatives common to the two studied corpora. The analysis of narrative patterns in the Greek and Vietnamese corpora reveals the diversity of narrative forms present in the sample texts. Thus, the texts of the corpora are analyzed taking into account their literary genre, whether they are fables, proverbs, sayings, popular poems, or songs, so that this does not pose any problem to this comparative work involving the two cultures. This therefore made it possible to point out the similarities between Greek and Vietnamese texts at the narrative level. This way, it is discovered that the animals featured in these two collections of texts are imbued with cultural symbols and embody deep beliefs. The naturalist information concerning the morphology and behavior of animals, collected and examined in the two collections of texts abounds and is authentic, attesting to the many similarities in the faunas of the two regions represented in the corpora. The methodological approach adopted highlights the relevance of comparative literary research in the study of animal representations

Testo completoThe topic of the present graduation thesis is “Zoological code in ensuring intercultural / interlingual communication (on the example of phraseological units with zoonym in Chinese, Russian and English)”. The purpose of the investigation lies in revealing the national-cultural and universal components of the zoological code using the example of phraseological units with zoonym in Chinese, Russian and English, which contribute to ensuring an adequate translation process for intercultural communication in the three languages. The subject of the research is phraseological units with zoonym in Chinese, Russian and English. The research uses a comparative method to determine the national-cultural and universal figuratively connotative features of phraseological units with zoonym in the three above-mentioned languages. The results of the research may be used in the process of mutual translation between Chinese, English, and Russian languages; in lexicographic practice for compiling a trilingual dictionary of zoonyms; in the classes of linguoculturology and intercultural communication, as well as for the purpose of teaching Russian to foreign students.

Testo completoEN : The thesis presents the study of English dialect phytonyms and zoonyms on the material of three English dialects – Essex, Cumberland and Lancashire. The study researches three thematic groups of phytonyms and eight of zoonyms. The research of dialects has a special interest in modern linguistics as they are the constant sources of language innovation and reveal the peculiarities of regional culture, local customs and social way of life. The purpose of this research paper was to study structural (morphological and syntactic), derivational and semantic characteristics of phytonyms and zoonyms in a dialect continuum of Essex, Cumberland and Lancashire in the 18 – 19 centuries. The analyses showed that flora and fauna of the regions studied is variable and rich, especially in grass, vegetables, fruits, berries, flowers, crops, domestic animals, birds, fish, cattle. That shows the pecularities of living and spheres of work which prevail in the studied regions and also proves the stereotypical image of England as of the “green” country with lashy woods and parks. Practical analyses underhold on morphological, structural and semantic level showed that the dominant phytonimic pattern of phytonyms and zoonyms is nominal with one derived stem; one and more stem words are also present.
