Abstract (sommario):
Interest in the “women's theme” is actualized in Russian humanities at the turn of the 21st century in terms of the feminology, historical anthropology and the history of everyday life. However, the “women's theme” in the exemplary collections of copies translated into Russian in the 17th century, still attracts little attention of researchers. This paper for the first time draws attention to women's issues as one of the cross-cutting ones in the code “Great Mirror” in its first Russian translation. The image of a woman is characterized basing on the material of 163 articles. The content of the examples is correlated with the events of the historical past of Ancient Rus` and Russian everyday life of the 17th century. The collection devotes considerable attention to the “evil wives”. Examples of women's activity show its manifestation not only as a vice, but as a social service. A woman is encouraged to lead a Christian lifestyle, to be submissive and faithful to her husband. At the same time, the source praises her wisdom and intelligence and readiness for self-sacrifice for the sake of her family and husband. Still weak, yet already noticeable in the chapters of the “Great Mirror”, manifestations of a new attitude towards women that flourished in the transitional period of Russian culture and modern times — development in the assessment of a woman's personality, strengthening women's status in the family, breaking stereotypes about a woman — were introduced not only by elements of European culture that have penetrated into Russian everyday life, but also the world culture`s plots inherent to the “female theme” of the collection.

Abstract (sommario):
Women's Studies Archive: Rare Titles from the American Antiquarian Society, 1820‐1922 provides literature by female authors on the American woman's experience in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It is the third database in Gale's Women's Studies Archive, which is only one of a number of Gale Primary Sources collections. It contains more than one million pages of works from the American Antiquarian Society, all authored or edited by women. The works available here are drawn from the American Antiquarian Society's library collections and cover a wide variety of nonfiction subjects and fiction genres. This database is relatively easy to navigate, though the numerous available search and browse functions may prove confusing to some. Despite this relatively minor complication, this resource offers a broad and varied range of materials from female authors in the time period indicated above. This is not a subscription database; instead, it must be purchased. The price, based on full-time enrollment (FTE), can range from $22,080 to $27,600. The licensing agreement for this database is too long, overly detailed, and sometimes repetitive, but in most ways is average in its composition.

Abstract (sommario):
The 2017 New York State suffrage centennial provided momentum for institutions to review and reimagine their women's history collections. Five of the many museum exhibitions timed to this anniversary— Votes for Women: Celebrating New York's Suffrage Centennial at the New York State Museum, Woman's Protest: Two Sides of the Fight for Suffrage in New York at the Cayuga Museum, Beyond Suffrage: A Century of New York Women in Politics at the Museum of the City of New York, and Hotbed and Collecting the Women's Marches at the New-York Historical Society—offer an opportunity to examine curatorial strategies that build on and share existing women's history collections, often accompanied by pointed acknowledgments of the unfinished struggles for voting rights and women's rights. As a constellation of historic sites and museums, state and federal commemorative commissions, and public and private funders join forces to bring these materials and the ideas they carry out of storage and into the exhibition gallery, this study of New York-based institutions speaks directly to commemorations being planned for the 2020 centennial of the Nineteenth Amendment and to new collecting projects in U.S. history museums more broadly.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract This paper is concerned with the ethical aspects of museum metadata. These are not always immediately evident when working with the metadata related to museum objects, although, I will argue, they are embedded in the object, accumulated at each phase of its journey into the institution; and continue to accumulate while it is part of a collection. This takes place against a backdrop of new development and possibilities afforded by digital technologies for building connections between and across heritage collections online, which can result in these complicated metadata potentially entering the data ecosystem. This eventuality, I will argue, has ethical and technical implications which need to be considered and understood through the theoretical lenses of critical data studies, museum informatics and the growing calls from museum scholars and others to decolonisation of museum collections. Using a small collection of drawings from the Pitt Rivers Museum of Anthropology and World Archaeology at the University of Oxford, I will demonstrate how difficult museum metadata can be buried deep in museum documentation, and how this data, once brought to the surface by digitisation, can expose the trauma of a collection’s origins. I will go on to ask whether the current models used to share heritage data online are appropriate mechanisms for materials with such sensitive histories, and ask how best to handle them in the increasingly digital future.

Abstract (sommario):
Even though the concept of Womanism has roots in Black Feminism, still it can form some relevance and connection with Indian Feminism. Alice Walker (1944-) an African Black woman writer has positioned “Womanist/Womanism” in her critically acclaimed collection of essays, “In Search of Our Mother’s Gardens: Womanist Prose”. Roughly, in Post-Independence India, women’s active involvement in politics advances their positions. The proportion of women in the Indian Education System skyrocketed. Due to awareness, Indian women make decisions in the realms of social, economic, and religious issues as well. Now, women lawyers, activists, politicians, administrators, and others focus on the upliftment of women’s conditions in India. These give birth to women-specific organizations, acts, amendments, and laws. In Indian Feminism based on the above-discussed layouts, there have been three waves in the last eighty years. Indian Womanism can be one of the most significant segments of Indian Feminism of the contemporary era. The primary aim of the Researcher is to conceptualize Indian Womanism while unwrapping the palimpsest narrative of Prabha Khaitan’s autobiography named A Life Apart. The second contention is to situate Prabha Khaitan as the best possible exemplar of an Indian Womanist instead of an Indian Feminist in the background of A Life Apart: An Autobiography.

Abstract (sommario):
African-American women have been inappropriately and unduly, stereotyped in various contrasting images as slaves post-slavery, wet nurses, super women, domestic helpers, mammies, matriarchs, jezebels, hoochies, welfare recipients, and hot bodies which discloses their repression in the United States of America. They have been showcased by both black men and white women in different ways quite contrary to their being in America. Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, Gloria Naylor, Gayl Jones, Paule Marshall, Sonia Sanchez, Toni Cade Bambara, to name a few writers, have put forth the condition of black women through their works. They have shown the personality of many a black women hidden behind the veils of racism, sexism, classism and systemic oppression of different sorts. Walker coined the term Womanism in her 1984 collection of essays titled In Search of Our Mothers’ Gardens: Womanist Prose. Womanism advocates consensus for black women starting with gender and proceeding over to race, ethnicity and class, with a universal outlook. Womanism offers a positive self-definition of the black woman’s self within gendered, historical, geographical, ethnic, racial and cultural contexts too. Walker’s novel The Temple of My Familiar 1989 is a womanist treatise putting forth the importance of womanist consciousness and womanist spirit. The novel is a tribute to the strength, endurance and vitality of black womanhood. The novel revolves around three pairs of characters and their lives to showcase the lives of African Americans and coloured population in America. The three couples namely Suwelo and Fanny, Arveyda and Carlotta, Lissie and Hal showcased in the novel, belong to different age groups and different, mixed ethnicities. Through them, Walker depicts the lives of marginalized population in America, and the umpteen trials they face for being who they are. Furthermore, this paper showcases how Womanism as a theory can really enliven the life of the black community, especially black women when put into practice.

Abstract (sommario):
Редакторы отстаивали равенство прав и социальную защиту женщин, пропагандировали духовную миссию женщины в советском социуме. the world of woman is multifaceted, many works of classics are devoted to it, it is reflected in paintings, poems and songs. Woman has always been associated with comfort and family. One of the main historical sources that help in the study of a particular issue are journal publications. The purpose of this article is to analyze the main storylines reflecting the image of woman and the system of social values in the magazine "Soviet Woman" for the period from 1954 to 1964. Using the method of content analysis, 120 issues of the magazine were processed. Thanks to what it was possible to construct the image of the Soviet woman of that period, which from the 50s of the XX century began to change from the image of a "woman-military" and "woman-worker" to the image of a business and respectable woman. The magazine "Soviet Woman" paid much attention to the formation of a woman in the USSR not only as a citizen, but also as an independent person. It covered legislative issues concerning Soviet women and children, touched upon economic issues, in particular, the types of benefits and amounts of allowances for working women and single mothers. A large place in the magazine was occupied by reports on various worldly exploits of Soviet women: doctors, teachers, workers of industrial plants and scientific institutes. The magazine also paid attention to moral and ethical issues of Soviet women and family life. The magazine paid much attention to the spiritual world of Soviet women. A separate block were materials devoted to the issues of fashion and beauty. For the readers illustrations and patterns of modern collections of clothes were offered, there was a technological description of sewing knitwear, advice on facial skin care and restoring the attractiveness of the female figure. The paper concludes that a Soviet woman should harmoniously combine family and professional roles while receiving higher education. The importance of a woman's self-realization in the family and household is also raised. The community forming around the magazine consisted of an all-female audience. Both girls, women, and adult ladies found useful information for themselves. In general, the magazine Soviet Woman was the official representative publication in the USSR, which shaped the lifestyle of the Soviet woman in the spirit of moderate feminism. The editors advocated equal rights and social protection of women, and promoted the spiritual mission of women in Soviet society.

Abstract (sommario):
In her collection In Search of Our Mothers’ Gardens: Womanist Prose (1983), Alice Walker explores how African American women preserved and passed down a heritage of creativity and beauty in spite of brutality. I argue in this essay that African American quilting forms a revelatory subject for the womanist project taken up by theologians. As both symbol for and implementation of the creative practice Walker heralds, quilting unearths aesthetics as vital to being human. Theologically rendered, quilting unfolds theological aesthetics for and with womanist theological anthropology. Theologically engaging historical, literary, and personal narrative, I show how womanism and quilting enrich theological conceptions of aesthetics and personhood.

Abstract (sommario):
Urmila Pawar’s autobiography Aaydan (The Weave of My Life: A Dalit Woman's Memoirs) is a moving saga of a socially deprived woman who fights all odds in life. Pawar narrates the pitiable tales of three generations of Dalit women driven deeper into invisibility by the patriarchy. In her memoir, Pawar not only shares her tireless efforts to surmount hideous personal tragedies but also conveys the excitement of an awakening consciousness among the Dalit community. This paper explores the relevance of Dalit autobiography in the present scenario with particular reference to Urmila Pawar's autobiography The Weave of My Life: A Dalit Woman's Memoirs. She delicately navigates her readers through her long journey from the harsh landscape of the Konkan region to Mumbai, first as a Mahar and later as a woman as she challenged the conventions of both caste and gender to emerge as an activist and strong literary voice. Urmila Pawar is an Indian writer and activist, born in a Hindu Mahar family in Maharashtra. Apart from The Weave of My Life she has published several short story collection which talk about the caste-class and gender axes in everyday life. She is a prominent figure in the Dalit and feminist movements. Her writings are hailed as a critique of social discrimination.

Abstract (sommario):
The purpose of this paper “Men’s Sexual Trauma Resistance in Black American Folklore: A Postcolonial Criticism of Negro “Woman Tales” from the Gulf States” was to discuss the reflection of postcolonial sexual trauma and resistance to it through storytelling among African Americans in the Gulf States. The study was concerned with 3 folktales classified under the cycle “Woman Tales”. The folktales were selected from the collection made by Zora Neale Hurston in the southern states of Alabama, Florida, and Louisiana from 1927 to 1930 and compiled in the book Every Tongue Got to confess: Negro Folktales from the Gulf States (2001). The postcolonial approach and trauma theory based on the interpretative qualitative method and library research was used in the discussion of the selected folktales. It was found that the performance of the “Woman Tales” is informed by the black men’s traumatic memories of slavery and post-slavery emasculation. Black male narrators imitate trauma narratives in which they reflect male sexual trauma and recreate black woman identity to contain it. Through this imitation and reflection, the folktales challenge the legacy of the plantation patriarchy by reconstructing a woman's identity that is docile to black masculinity.

Abstract The case of a 60-year-old woman with a history of chronic alcoholism and chronic liver disease is presented as a clinical case. During a hospitalization, a diagnostic imaging test reveals a possible complicated chronic pancreatitis with multiple abdominal collections. Of note is the displacement of one of the collections at the thoracic level along with a pre-existing large hiatal hernia, which, in turn, is compressed and laterally displaced by the collection, causing abdominal pain and dyspnea in the patient. Literature on intrathoracic collections secondary to complicated chronic pancreatitis is scarce. Therefore, in a patient presenting with typical abdominal pain of pancreatitis and dyspnea, it is mandatory to consider this condition in the broad differential diagnosis that needs to be established.

Abstract (sommario):
Woman’s language is utilized to communicate and express her ideas. Woman’s language is treated different from man. Abstract (sommario):
The importance of addressing the continuance of gender bias in children's literature cannot be overstated. Considering that children, as the intended audience of children's literature, should be agents of change in society, particularly with relation to gender roles equality. The issue addressed in this study is how women are portrayed in Arleen A. Kingdom Tale Collections, a collection of children's books authored by a woman. The purpose of this paper is to describe and explain the gender bias towards female and male characters in Kingdom Tale Collections. This literary work is created by a woman and will discuss the description of the status and role of women; therefore, feminist literary criticism will be employed as the guiding theory and methodology. This descriptive qualitative research approach obtains its data with a focus on feminism literary critique in the study of literature. The results of this study pertain to the portrayal of gender bias faced by the main female character, including the notion that a woman must be beautiful despite her mental and physical weakness, whereas a guy with a strong body is autonomous and intellectual. Second, the woman must be able to cook and sew for her family, but she cannot pursue a job that is substantially distinct from the male characters. Third, a virtuous woman is shown as possessing a weak and timid disposition. They are portrayed in the novel as lacking the bravery to express their heart's desires; women will always be expected to submit to the desires of men, whilst men are free to express their hearts. This study concludes that there is still a gender bias in the form of women's domestication as a manifestation of traditional gender norms. As if their life depend on the benevolence of males, women are portrayed in the domestic sphere as mere accessories. This, of course, further demonstrates that gender bias persists in children's literature from the "Kingdom Tale Collection," despite the fact that the story's author is a woman, and that it appears to be a problem that will persist in our culture.

Abstract (sommario):
Literature does not encourage gender inequalities. Inequalities among the poets generally decide the language of the literature. Generally, women are considered to be different types of the concept of men. These types of irrational thoughts still exist. Still men feel that it is inappropriate to talk about women’s issues. If a woman declares her thoughts and feelings by herself, it’s called as feminine. Men cannot withstand some of the pains which can be endured only by women. These pains should be revealed by woman in the writing form. Feminism can be classified into three types namely, 1) write against men, 2) woman should reveal her pain through the writing skills of men, and 3) to establish an own writing method with heart. Of all the three types, only third type can be effectively used by woman to ascertain her needs. There are only four literatures have taken for this article. The main objective of this article is to reveal the men’s ideology about portraying women only on the basis of colour, shape and not to think beyond these two.

Abstract (sommario):
Interwar Culture from Adam Matthew is a rich and multidisciplinary resource bringing together numerous periodicals from the interwar period (1919‐1939) and covering a wide range of topics such as fashion, entertainment, home and family life, the women's movement, and children's literature. The collection consists of two modules: one covering the 1920s (which has been released) and another covering the 1930s (which is coming soon, presumably by 2023). Module 1 contains thousands of individual periodical issues from 27 different titles, ranging from the familiar (The Strand, Homes & Gardens) to the less familiar and, in many cases, previously unavailable online (Peg's Paper, Chums). Content ranges from highbrow fashion magazines like Art, Goût, Beauté, and Femina to low-priced homemaking titles such as Woman's Home Companion to children's publications such as The Modern Boy and The Schoolgirls’ Weekly. The collection also includes distinctive titles such as The National Advocate, purportedly the United States’ oldest temperance publication; The Labour Woman and Woman's Weekly, publications aimed specifically at working women; and Time and Tide, a uniquely female-produced publication covering politics and culture. Theatre Magazine, known for its sumptuous color photographs, is another standout title in the collection. The interwar period was a time of great cultural change and technological innovation, and the evolution of entertainment, culture, and fashion can be traced in various ways in the pages of these periodicals. With many of the included titles targeting women in particular, these periodicals helped define as well as record the changing ideas and fashions of this era, such as the move away from Victorian ideals to the more practical ideas and fashions of the flapper generation and the burgeoning world of working women. Boasting visually crisp and clear images from the pages of the original publications and a user-friendly search/browse interface, Interwar Culture has much to offer researchers across numerous disciplines as well as casual users simply interested in the significant and tumultuous years of the 1920s and 1930s.

Abstract (sommario):
IN1895,GRANT ALLEN PUBLISHED A NEW WOMAN NOVELentitledThe Woman Who Did. This treatise-like novel appeared as part of the Keynotes Series, a group of ideologically progressive texts published by John Lane for Bodley Head in the 1890s. As Margaret Diane Stetz writes, Lane made this series “a haven for ‘New Woman’ fiction, naturalistic short stories, and ‘decadent’ poetry and art” (72). Marketed as status and sex objects (81), many of the thirty-three novels and short-story collections that make up the series concern themselves with New Woman issues such as marriage and female sexuality. Lane had taken the name for this series from George Egerton'sKeynotes(1893), a collection of short stories told from the perspective of an emancipated woman. The Woman Who Did, published two years later, also featured a New Woman and became the most notorious book of the series. Combining a free-love, anti-marriage message with a tragic plot, Allen's novel focuses on a clergyman's daughter, Herminia Barton, who refuses to marry the father of her child, Alan Merrick, on feminist principles. Unwilling to enter an institution that she compares to “vile slavery” (43), she chooses to live unmarried with her lover and daughter until his death. She withstands the calumny of family and friends and years of grieving and penury only to discover in the end that her daughter rejects her feminism and views her illegitimacy not as the “supreme privilege” her mother believed it to be, but rather as a “curse” (132). In a way typical of New Woman novels, the story ends with the heroine's suicide.

Abstract (sommario):
This is a case of a 77-year-old woman with a 4.0 cm gas-containing iliopsoas bursa collection in the setting of mild-to-moderate degenerative joint disease. Given the limited extent of this patient’s osteoarthritis and the absence of infectious signs or symptoms, both of which are typically related to gas collections at the hip, it was difficult to determine the aetiology of the patient’s gas collection, whether it was related to her pain, and how best to manage her symptoms. Even in the setting of her MRI findings, which showed the gas collection lifting the iliopsoas tendon off the bone, the gas-containing bursa ultimately appeared to be a minor component of the patient’s pain and definitive treatment of her underlying joint disease with a total hip arthroplasty allowed for successful pain management. Our case report demonstrates an unusual presentation of iliopsoas bursitis with a surprising response to medical, interventional and surgical management.

Abstract (sommario):
Object. Spontaneous intracranial hypotension due to a spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak is an important cause of new daily persistent headaches. Spinal neuroimaging is important in the treatment of these patients, particularly when direct repair of the CSF leak is contemplated. Retrospinal C1–2 fluid collections may be noted on spinal imaging and these are generally believed to correspond to the site of the CSF leak. The authors undertook a study to determine the significance of these C1–2 fluid collections. Methods. The patient population consisted of a consecutive group of 25 patients (18 female and seven male) who were evaluated for surgical repair of a spontaneous spinal CSF leak. The mean age of the 18 patients was 38 years (range 13–72 years). All patients underwent computerized tomography myelography. Three patients (12%) had extensive retrospinal C1–2 fluid collections; the mean age of this woman and these two men was 41 years (range 39–43 years). The actual site of the CSF leak was located at the lower cervical spine in these patients and did not correspond to the site of the retrospinal C1–2 fluid collection. Conclusions. A retrospinal fluid collection at the C1–2 level does not necessarily indicate the site of the CSF leak in patients with spontaneous intracranial hypotension. This is an important consideration in the treatment of these patients because therapy may be inadvertently directed at this site.

Abstract (sommario):
Aim. To create a collection of samples from women at different stages of pregnancy to search for early biomarkers of preterm birth.Material and methods. In order to standardize the sample collection, standard operation procedures have been developed with a step-by-step protocol for each research member at the clinical (collection of medical data and biological material) and laboratory (transportation, sample preparation, storage, quality control) stages.Results. As of October 1, 2020, the collection includes peripheral blood samples from 182 women. Whole blood, serum, plasma, buffy coat and urine were collected during pregnancy, and placenta and umbilical cord blood samples — during labor. Clinical and medical history data was obtained about each pregnant woman, which includes data on the woman’s health status, the course and outcome of pregnancy. An electronic catalog has been created with information on samples (data on clinical characteristics and the number of aliquots of each sample type). The quality control (assessment of DNA and microRNA) was carried out, which showed the compliance of the obtained samples with the quality criteria and the preservation of initial characteristics during long-term storage. On the basis of collection, a study has begun to assess the level of microRNA expression in various types of biomaterial, in order to search for early biomarkers of premature birth.Conclusion. The creation of a collection of samples from pregnant women is a significant groundwork for future fundamental and applied research in various fields of biomedicine. This collection may provide an in-depth study of the pathogenesis of various pregnancy complications and the development of new methods for their diagnosis and treatment.-

Abstract (sommario):
Background/Aims The concept of the ‘pregnant man’ was developed to encourage pregnant women's partners to be involved in pregnancy in a culture that does not encourage men's involvement in ‘womanly’ affairs. It is intended to encourage men to support their wives in seeking maternal care during pregnancy, to reduce risk and encourage a safe birth at a hospital facility. This study's aim was to explore the role of husbands during their wife's pregnancy. Methods This was a mixed-methods, community-based, cross-sectional study with couples who had a child <1 year old or who were pregnant. For quantitative data collection, 398 respondents (194 husbands and 194 wives) reported their opinions on male partner involvement and its barriers. A sample of 20 women participated in focus group discussions for qualitative data collection. These data were analysed using oral reflective analysis. Results Few men (15.5%) and even fewer women (9.3%) reported that husbands regularly participated in antenatal care visits. The reasons for this lack of involvement included being ‘too busy’ (18.1%), financial constraints (7.5%) and antenatal care opening hours restricting working husbands from accompanying their wives (13.8%). Conclusions Community-based education and husband-to-husband peer education should be prioritised by the Ghana health service to encourage men to be involved in their partner's antenatal care during pregnancy. More research is needed on partner engagement in maternal and child health services, particularly earlier in a woman's pregnancy.

Abstract (sommario):
The article offers an analysis of the paremias of Russian, French, Malagasy and Spanish, devoted to women. The research material was the paremiological units of these languages, obtained by continuous sampling from collections of paremias, works of art and bilingual dictionaries, the selection criterion is the presence of a woman’s lexical unit (French femme , Spanish mujer , Malagasy Vehivavy ) or a description of appearance, significance, behavior function as mother, wife, housewife, etc. in paremias in considered linguocultures. The purpose of the study is to reveal the universal and cultural-specific features of the concept of a woman in the considered corps of the Russian, French Malagasy and Spanish paremies. The tasks of the work also include consideration of the peculiarities of the paremiological and lexical units used in this fragment of the linguistic picture, as well as to describe the general and non-coinciding aspects of the origin and functioning of the antiparemia and the use of gradualness in the paremies. The selection and analysis of paremiological units showed that in the languages in question one can find paremic units characterizing a woman as ideal, intelligent, strong, etc. person, and also the importance of a woman as a housewife and her superiority over a man. A significant part of the analyzed linguistic material is made up of paradoxes in which a woman is compared with a female animal, a plant or object with which a certain quality of a woman is associated, and also a woman is presented as a stupid, talkative, unreliable, lazy, capricious person or unreasonable wife. The originality of the research is that the first time the analysis of the comparative consideration of the paremias about the woman on the material of the Russian, French, Malagasy and Spanish languages and the lexical and paremiological material of the Malagasy language introduced into the scientific circulation is made.

Abstract (sommario):
Ida Lilian Slater (1881-1969) was one of the first women to work as a geologist in a male world, and although her career was short, she made important contributions to the Early Palaeozoic of Wales and Scotland. Her main work was based on a collection of a group of fossil scypho-zoan polyps gathered not by her but by another significant woman, Elizabeth Anderson, widely known as Mrs. Robert Gray (1831-1924). The majority of this collection is kept at the Natural History Museum (NHM), London, and the Sedgwick Museum, Cambridge. She worked in the former one for two years describing species and comparing specimens for her monograph on British conulariids. Although her work was based not only on this group, she will be remembered by her important contribution to the conulariids through collections. The NHM collection is considered the best in the world in terms of diversity and the second best in its number of specimens, while the Sedgwick Museum has a smaller collection that is still considered the second best in diversity and number of specimens in the United Kingdom. Her work has been cited for more than 100 years and continues to be cited to this day by researchers on this group of fossils.

It is related to re-establishing a family by means of a woman’s remarriage. The content includes the following: it was forbidden to call the husband in a remarriage as jiafu “substitute father.” It was forbidden for children to call each other as brothers and sisters if they were not fathered by the same man. A widow with children was not allowed to transfer the property of her deceased husband to her maternal family or to the family she remarried into. It was forbidden to force a widow to remarry. The issuance of the wuyin statute was directly associated with the scandal of Lao’ai 嫪毐. Lao’ai had had an affair with the mother of the First Emperor of Qin, fathering two sons with her, and claiming himself as the substitute father of the First Emperor. The Stele of Mount Tai and the Stele of Mount Kuaiji praised the First Emperor for “defending and demarcating the boundary of the inner and the outer, forbidding licentious behavior, so that both men and women are pure and honest” 防隔内外,禁止淫泆,男女絜誠. The First Emperor also named the widow Qing 清 of the Ba 巴 region as a chaste woman and built the Terrace of the Woman Huai Qing 女懷清臺. Those events serve to confirm the relevance between the wuyin statute and the scandal of Lao’ai. Because the term “substitute father” had a notorious reputation, the Han people replaced it with “stepfather” (jifu 繼父) when calling the husband of a remarried mother.

Abstract (sommario):
Archivists who work on African American collections are increasingly more aware that traditional sites of African American agency and autonomy are becoming more unstable. The need to capture the perspectives and histories of these institutions is urgent. The challenges become more acute when communities recognize the need to preserve their legacies but do not have the resources or support to make it happen. African American material culture and history remains at risk of co-optation from large institutions and individuals seeking to monetize and profit from collecting Black collections. Endemic in that process is the risk of these institutions controlling the narrative and inadvertently or deliberately erasing the narratives of these diverse communities from that community’s perspective. Cultural memory workers focused on African American collections face numerous challenges: the risk of losing the materials or communities themselves; partnering with organizations and administrations with differing, and perhaps conflicting agendas; working on projects with limited or term funding; and the emotional labor of being a person of color in a predominantly white field trying to support communities that can often reflect their own experiences. How can libraries, museums, and archives bring these communities into the world of archives and empower them to protect and share their stories? How can archivists, particularly those of color, find support within their institutions and the archival profession, to accomplish this work of preserving African American cultural heritage? How can archives support genuinely collaborative projects with diverse Black communities without co-opting their stories and collections? The authors will address these questions in this article, discussing their experiences working with a variety of institutions—predominantly white universities, Black colleges, churches, neighborhoods and families. The authors also include their reflections from their National Conference of African American Librarians panel presentation in August 2017 on these related topics.

Abstract (sommario):
The article examines the features of the image of a woman in the debut collection of Maria Mash from Lviv, «Today Definitely Not». It was found that this image does not fit into the thematic scheme: a lonely woman / a woman in love / a beloved woman. Because loneliness for the lyrical heroine is not the absence of a loved one, but the lack of understanding with him. Hence the need to find the exact word to describe feelings in order to form a common language of love. The image of a woman in M. Mash's collection is, at first glance, quite traditional (family welfare is in her hands, she rejoices in her husband's success and feels created for his happiness, and in her husband she sees her protection and partner for the «dance of life»). At the same time, this female image is individualized in the expression of emotions (for example, there are at least 14 types of love). Despite the fact that the woman in M. Mash's poetry is deeply feminine (she aspires to romance, has a chivalrous attitude towards herself, beauty and an ideal), she can only be called a romantic woman. Harmony in relationships is very important for the lyrical heroine, but no less weighty – the harmony of daily existence (so «today» is a whole life), a sense of inner balance and creative realization. Although the lyrical heroine of Maria Mash's debut collection invites her husband to dance, she does not allow him to control her thoughts and emotions. The woman from Maria Mash's poetry reveals herself to be self-sufficient, single-handedly changing the world for the better. The analysis of the image of a woman in the collection «Today Definitely Not» by Maria Mash proved the fundamental falsity of the binary opposition: «traditional/self-sufficient woman», which is common in feminist and gender studies.

Abstract (sommario):
This research started from the differences in the people's views in Sagaranten District, Sukabumi Regency related to female clerics. It stems from the idea that it is appropriate for the ulama to be addressed to men with religious knowledge because the ulama are heirs to the prophets while the prophets are men. In addition, women are a place for slander so they have strict limits when working in society. The author uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the people of Sagaranten District, Sukabumi Regency have both traditional and modern patterns of thought. The conventional view sees that a woman who has religious knowledge cannot carry out religious activities in a community with a mixed congregation of men and women. It is based on women being slander so that a woman's voice is considered aurat (which must be hidden). Second, the modern view views that women who have religious knowledge can be involved in society. There are no restrictions as long as they are able and have the opportunity.

Abstract (sommario):
Nyentana is a marriage system where the woman proposes to the man, and then the man moves into the woman's family. Nyentana marriage is an alternative for families who have only daughters to continue the descent. Finding a man who is willing to commit to nyentana is not easy, especially for the only daughters in the Tabanan district, which is known for its nyentana tradition. The various problems that only daughters face can cause psychological issues. This study aims to describe the subjective well-being of only daughters in relation to the nyentana tradition in Tabanan. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews with five respondents who were only daughters aged 21-24 years and domiciled in Tabanan. The data analysis used theoretical coding. The results found five findings that described subjective well-being in only daughters, such as awareness of responsibility, family love, gratitude, and life principles in the nyentana tradition; challenges in getting nyentana; self-assessment as an only child; dreams for the future; and responses to problems. This study is expected to be a reference for individuals who seek to improve their quality of life.

Abstract (sommario):
Background. Degenerated intervertebral discs in the lumbar spine are commonly found with vacuum phenomenon. In a few cases, gas can migrate into the lumbar spinal canal and compress the nerve root. Case Presentation. We report a case of lumbar radiculopathy caused by epidural gas collection in a 59-year-old woman. Originally, the gas was formed in the intervertebral disc and possibly migrated backward because of the motion of lumbar spine, forming a single large gas formation. The nerve root was freed from the gas-filled cyst after needle puncture was performed. Patient’s symptoms in the leg were significantly relieved following surgery. Conclusion. There is still no satisfactory explanation for the pathogenesis of gas formation in the spinal canal. In our case, the presence of gas in the spinal canal and gas inside a narrowed disc suggests a communication between the two structures.

Abstract (sommario):
Introduction The fourth trimester or postpartum period is a concept that places the woman (newborn and couple) at the centre of care, within the family. In this study, an instrument was developed to enable the puerperal woman/couple to plan and organise the postpartum period, in order to facilitate adaptation during this period. The theoretical framework of Laurie Gottlieb's Strengths-Based Nursing Care guided this process. Objective This study begins with the research question: What difficulties does the puerperal woman experience in the postpartum period? Its objectives are: to identify the triad's bio-psycho-social needs in the first 12 weeks postpartum, the puerperal woman's/couple's strategies for overcoming perceived difficulties and the items to be included in the postpartum plan, from the maternal perspective. Methods A descriptive exploratory study with a mixed-methods approach, with a questionnaire administered to mothers aged between 18 and 39, obtaining 141 responses with eligibility criteria between April 14 and May 5, 2023. The data collection tool was shared through groups of mothers on social networks (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp). Content analysis was carried out according to Bardin and semantic categorization was used to process the qualitative data and statistical analysis of the quantitative data. Results The study revealed the difficulties, the needs of the triad in the first 12 weeks, the strategies or strengths to overcome the difficulties and the suggested items for the postpartum plan. Conclusion It can be concluded that the postpartum plan is an innovative concept, since pregnant women/couples focus on drawing up the birth plan, unaware of or not valuing the postpartum plan. However, most of the participants considered planning to be one of the strengths or strategies for a positive experience of the fourth trimester.
