Abstract (sommario):
Interest in the “women's theme” is actualized in Russian humanities at the turn of the 21st century in terms of the feminology, historical anthropology and the history of everyday life. However, the “women's theme” in the exemplary collections of copies translated into Russian in the 17th century, still attracts little attention of researchers. This paper for the first time draws attention to women's issues as one of the cross-cutting ones in the code “Great Mirror” in its first Russian translation. The image of a woman is characterized basing on the material of 163 articles. The content of the examples is correlated with the events of the historical past of Ancient Rus` and Russian everyday life of the 17th century. The collection devotes considerable attention to the “evil wives”. Examples of women's activity show its manifestation not only as a vice, but as a social service. A woman is encouraged to lead a Christian lifestyle, to be submissive and faithful to her husband. At the same time, the source praises her wisdom and intelligence and readiness for self-sacrifice for the sake of her family and husband. Still weak, yet already noticeable in the chapters of the “Great Mirror”, manifestations of a new attitude towards women that flourished in the transitional period of Russian culture and modern times — development in the assessment of a woman's personality, strengthening women's status in the family, breaking stereotypes about a woman — were introduced not only by elements of European culture that have penetrated into Russian everyday life, but also the world culture`s plots inherent to the “female theme” of the collection.

Abstract (sommario):
Women's Studies Archive: Rare Titles from the American Antiquarian Society, 1820‐1922 provides literature by female authors on the American woman's experience in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It is the third database in Gale's Women's Studies Archive, which is only one of a number of Gale Primary Sources collections. It contains more than one million pages of works from the American Antiquarian Society, all authored or edited by women. The works available here are drawn from the American Antiquarian Society's library collections and cover a wide variety of nonfiction subjects and fiction genres. This database is relatively easy to navigate, though the numerous available search and browse functions may prove confusing to some. Despite this relatively minor complication, this resource offers a broad and varied range of materials from female authors in the time period indicated above. This is not a subscription database; instead, it must be purchased. The price, based on full-time enrollment (FTE), can range from $22,080 to $27,600. The licensing agreement for this database is too long, overly detailed, and sometimes repetitive, but in most ways is average in its composition.

Abstract (sommario):
The 2017 New York State suffrage centennial provided momentum for institutions to review and reimagine their women's history collections. Five of the many museum exhibitions timed to this anniversary— Votes for Women: Celebrating New York's Suffrage Centennial at the New York State Museum, Woman's Protest: Two Sides of the Fight for Suffrage in New York at the Cayuga Museum, Beyond Suffrage: A Century of New York Women in Politics at the Museum of the City of New York, and Hotbed and Collecting the Women's Marches at the New-York Historical Society—offer an opportunity to examine curatorial strategies that build on and share existing women's history collections, often accompanied by pointed acknowledgments of the unfinished struggles for voting rights and women's rights. As a constellation of historic sites and museums, state and federal commemorative commissions, and public and private funders join forces to bring these materials and the ideas they carry out of storage and into the exhibition gallery, this study of New York-based institutions speaks directly to commemorations being planned for the 2020 centennial of the Nineteenth Amendment and to new collecting projects in U.S. history museums more broadly.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract This paper is concerned with the ethical aspects of museum metadata. These are not always immediately evident when working with the metadata related to museum objects, although, I will argue, they are embedded in the object, accumulated at each phase of its journey into the institution; and continue to accumulate while it is part of a collection. This takes place against a backdrop of new development and possibilities afforded by digital technologies for building connections between and across heritage collections online, which can result in these complicated metadata potentially entering the data ecosystem. This eventuality, I will argue, has ethical and technical implications which need to be considered and understood through the theoretical lenses of critical data studies, museum informatics and the growing calls from museum scholars and others to decolonisation of museum collections. Using a small collection of drawings from the Pitt Rivers Museum of Anthropology and World Archaeology at the University of Oxford, I will demonstrate how difficult museum metadata can be buried deep in museum documentation, and how this data, once brought to the surface by digitisation, can expose the trauma of a collection’s origins. I will go on to ask whether the current models used to share heritage data online are appropriate mechanisms for materials with such sensitive histories, and ask how best to handle them in the increasingly digital future.

Abstract (sommario):
Even though the concept of Womanism has roots in Black Feminism, still it can form some relevance and connection with Indian Feminism. Alice Walker (1944-) an African Black woman writer has positioned “Womanist/Womanism” in her critically acclaimed collection of essays, “In Search of Our Mother’s Gardens: Womanist Prose”. Roughly, in Post-Independence India, women’s active involvement in politics advances their positions. The proportion of women in the Indian Education System skyrocketed. Due to awareness, Indian women make decisions in the realms of social, economic, and religious issues as well. Now, women lawyers, activists, politicians, administrators, and others focus on the upliftment of women’s conditions in India. These give birth to women-specific organizations, acts, amendments, and laws. In Indian Feminism based on the above-discussed layouts, there have been three waves in the last eighty years. Indian Womanism can be one of the most significant segments of Indian Feminism of the contemporary era. The primary aim of the Researcher is to conceptualize Indian Womanism while unwrapping the palimpsest narrative of Prabha Khaitan’s autobiography named A Life Apart. The second contention is to situate Prabha Khaitan as the best possible exemplar of an Indian Womanist instead of an Indian Feminist in the background of A Life Apart: An Autobiography.

Abstract (sommario):
African-American women have been inappropriately and unduly, stereotyped in various contrasting images as slaves post-slavery, wet nurses, super women, domestic helpers, mammies, matriarchs, jezebels, hoochies, welfare recipients, and hot bodies which discloses their repression in the United States of America. They have been showcased by both black men and white women in different ways quite contrary to their being in America. Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, Gloria Naylor, Gayl Jones, Paule Marshall, Sonia Sanchez, Toni Cade Bambara, to name a few writers, have put forth the condition of black women through their works. They have shown the personality of many a black women hidden behind the veils of racism, sexism, classism and systemic oppression of different sorts. Walker coined the term Womanism in her 1984 collection of essays titled In Search of Our Mothers’ Gardens: Womanist Prose. Womanism advocates consensus for black women starting with gender and proceeding over to race, ethnicity and class, with a universal outlook. Womanism offers a positive self-definition of the black woman’s self within gendered, historical, geographical, ethnic, racial and cultural contexts too. Walker’s novel The Temple of My Familiar 1989 is a womanist treatise putting forth the importance of womanist consciousness and womanist spirit. The novel is a tribute to the strength, endurance and vitality of black womanhood. The novel revolves around three pairs of characters and their lives to showcase the lives of African Americans and coloured population in America. The three couples namely Suwelo and Fanny, Arveyda and Carlotta, Lissie and Hal showcased in the novel, belong to different age groups and different, mixed ethnicities. Through them, Walker depicts the lives of marginalized population in America, and the umpteen trials they face for being who they are. Furthermore, this paper showcases how Womanism as a theory can really enliven the life of the black community, especially black women when put into practice.

Abstract (sommario):
Редакторы отстаивали равенство прав и социальную защиту женщин, пропагандировали духовную миссию женщины в советском социуме. the world of woman is multifaceted, many works of classics are devoted to it, it is reflected in paintings, poems and songs. Woman has always been associated with comfort and family. One of the main historical sources that help in the study of a particular issue are journal publications. The purpose of this article is to analyze the main storylines reflecting the image of woman and the system of social values in the magazine "Soviet Woman" for the period from 1954 to 1964. Using the method of content analysis, 120 issues of the magazine were processed. Thanks to what it was possible to construct the image of the Soviet woman of that period, which from the 50s of the XX century began to change from the image of a "woman-military" and "woman-worker" to the image of a business and respectable woman. The magazine "Soviet Woman" paid much attention to the formation of a woman in the USSR not only as a citizen, but also as an independent person. It covered legislative issues concerning Soviet women and children, touched upon economic issues, in particular, the types of benefits and amounts of allowances for working women and single mothers. A large place in the magazine was occupied by reports on various worldly exploits of Soviet women: doctors, teachers, workers of industrial plants and scientific institutes. The magazine also paid attention to moral and ethical issues of Soviet women and family life. The magazine paid much attention to the spiritual world of Soviet women. A separate block were materials devoted to the issues of fashion and beauty. For the readers illustrations and patterns of modern collections of clothes were offered, there was a technological description of sewing knitwear, advice on facial skin care and restoring the attractiveness of the female figure. The paper concludes that a Soviet woman should harmoniously combine family and professional roles while receiving higher education. The importance of a woman's self-realization in the family and household is also raised. The community forming around the magazine consisted of an all-female audience. Both girls, women, and adult ladies found useful information for themselves. In general, the magazine Soviet Woman was the official representative publication in the USSR, which shaped the lifestyle of the Soviet woman in the spirit of moderate feminism. The editors advocated equal rights and social protection of women, and promoted the spiritual mission of women in Soviet society.

Abstract (sommario):
Identity, who we are, is at the core of every human being, thus at the core of every character from every play. How the character identifies his self through gender and sexual identity will shape both physical and emotional choices that an actor will make through the rehearsal process. As an actor, it is absolutely imperative to resist the urge to pass judgment on the characters we portray. As more characters in modern drama are openly gay, there is an increasing urge for an actor to fall into campy stereotypes. Through a performance of the role of Molina in Manuel Puig's Kiss of the Spider Woman, this thesis will examine the blurring line of gender identity of the leading man in contemporary drama and explore the challenges of portraying a feminine man in a non-stereotypical way, remaining true to the identification of the character. A thorough historical analysis presents a look at the evolution of the homosexual throughout modern drama, from self-loathing party boys of the seventies to ordinary fathers, husbands, and sons in modern households. A structural analysis of Puig's text will aid in the choices made by the actor. Lastly, a complete character analysis will examine the psychological motivations behind Molina's actions as well as the changes in his gender and sexual identity throughout the piece. This thesis will culminate in a comprehensive development, rehearsal and performance journal, which will document and address challenges, discoveries, failures and victories during the production process.

Abstract (sommario):
The Collection tells the story of Barbara, a fifty-something, Christian, teacher, wife, and mother, as she is forced to return home after her estranged father's death. Named executrix of his estate, Barbara navigates family secrets, repressed childhood trauma, and her mentally ill father's legacy. Using Attachment Theory and Intergenerational Theories of Personal Development, this research discusses the development and relationships of the characters in The Collection to demonstrate the connections between their child and adult selves—specifically, the role of Barbara's parents and childhood in her suppressed anger. Framed within the context of Carolyn G. Heilbrun's feminist critique of women writers and women characters, this paper connects socio-psychological theories to investigate how the patriarchal gender norms Barbara's mother instilled in her daughter result in Barbara's suppressed anger, strained interpersonal relationships and adult religiosity. The relationship between adult Barbara and her aging mother is discussed in context of these theories and compared against women characters in Siri Hustvedt's The Blazing World and Elizabeth Strout's Olive Kitteridge. Finally, the paper calls for further research into and understanding of the causes and effects of women's anger, as well as an essential shift in how both men and women are permitted to express emotions.

Abstract (sommario):
African American Studies
Ph.D.
In November 2006, award-winning novelist, Bebe Moore Campbell died at the age of 56 after a short battle with brain cancer. Although the author was widely-known and acclaimed for her first novel, Your Blues Ain't Like Mine (1992) there had been no serious study of her life, nor her literary and activist work. This dissertation examines Campbell's activism in two periods: as a student at the University of Pittsburgh during the 1960s Black Student Movement, and later as a mental health advocate near the end of her life in 2006. It also analyzes Campbell's first and final novels, Your Blues Ain't Like Mine and 72 Hour Hold (2005) and the direct relationship between her novels and her activist work. Oral history interview, primary source document analysis, and textual analysis of the two novels, were employed to examine and reconstruct Campbell's activist activities, approaches, intentions and impact in both her work as a student activist at the University of Pittsburgh and her work as a mental health advocate and spokesperson for the National Alliance for Mental Illness. A key idea considered is the impact of her early activism and consciousness on her later activism, writing, and advocacy. I describe the subject's activism within the Black Action Society from 1967-1971 and her negotiation of the black nationalist ideologies espoused during the 1960s. Campbell's first novel Your Blues Ain't Like Mine and is correlated to her emerging political consciousness (specific to race and gender) and the concern for racial violence during the Black Liberation period. The examination of recurrent themes in Your Blues reveals a direct relationship to Campbell's activism at the University of Pittsburgh. I also document Campbell's later involvement in the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), her role as a national spokesperson, and the local activism that sparked the birth of the NAMI Urban-Los Angeles chapter, serving black and Latino communities (1999-2006). Campbell's final novel, 72 Hour Hold, is examined closely for its socio-political commentary and emphasis on mental health disparities, coping with mental illness, and advocacy in black communities. Campbell utilized recurring signature themes within each novel to theorize and connect popular audiences with African American historical memory and current sociopolitical issues. Drawing from social movement theories, I contend that Campbell's activism, writing, and intellectual development reflect the process of frame alignment. That is, through writing and other activist practices she effectively amplifies, extends, and transforms sociopolitical concerns specific to African American communities, effectively engaging a broad range of readers and constituents. By elucidating Campbell's formal and informal leadership roles within two social movement organizations and her deliberate use of writing as an activist tool, I conclude that in both activist periods Campbell's effective use of resources, personal charisma, and mobilizing strategies aided in grassroots/local and institutional change. This biographical and critical study of the sociopolitical activism of Bebe Moore Campbell establishes the necessity for scholarly examination of African American women writers marketed to popular audiences and expands the study of African American women's contemporary activism, health activism, and black student activism.

Abstract (sommario):
Spanish
Ph.D.
This doctoral dissertation is a paleographic transcription of a Spanish chivalric romance written by Beatriz Bernal in 1545. Cristalián de España, as the text is referred to, was printed twice in its full book form, four parts and 304 folios. It was also well-received outside of the Iberian Peninsula, and published twice in its Italian translation. This incunabulum is quite a contribution to the chivalric genre for many reasons. It is not only well-written and highly entertaining, but it is the only known Castilian romance of its kind written by a woman. This detail cannot be over-emphasized. Chivalric tales have been enjoyed for centuries and throughout many different mediums. Readers and listeners alike had been enjoying these romances years before the libros de caballerías reached the height of their popularity in Spain. Hundreds of contributions to the genre are still in print today and available in numerous translations. Given this reality, it seems highly suspect that this romance, penned by a woman, and of excellent quality, is not found on the shelves next to other texts of the genre. Cristalián, despite what scholars of the genre have erroneously posited, was not an obscure text in sixteenth-century Spain. Bookstore and print-shop inventories of its time list numerous copies of Bernal's romance in bound book form, which confirm that Cristalián was circulating for at least sixty years. The purpose of this dissertation is two-fold. In order for Cristalián to be included in conversations of any nature, it must be made available. This transcription of Book I and II seeks to accomplish that. Secondly, current scholarship must re-imagine erroneous constructions of sixteenth-century reader's preferences. These prevalent constructions have often excluded noteworthy contributions to literature, especially those written by women. My aim is to redress this imbalance by analyzing Beatriz Bernal's written text and her writing strategies. The first three sections of the accompanying study more thoroughly address the challenges facing women writers in sixteenth-century Spain while also considering issues of literacy, reader preferences, and text distribution of the period. The last sections of the study are devoted specifically to the chivalric genre, and to Bernal's exemplary romance, Cristalián de España. Also included in the appendix are woodcuts from both Castilian editions, the proemio from the second edition, the chapter rubrics from Book I and II, and an index of characters from the narration.

Abstract (sommario):
Suiting the Modern Woman documented the evolution of women's power dressing in the 20th century by featuring four major components: thirteen period suit silhouettes, the power suits of twenty-eight influential and successful high profile Texas women, a look at the career and creations of Dallas designer, Richard Brooks, who created the professional wardrobe for former Texas Governor Ann Richards, and a media room which showcased images of working women in television and movie clips, advertisements, cartoons, and fashion guidebooks. The exhibition served as an application for contemporary museum education theory. Acting as both the exhibition coordinator and educator provided an opportunity to develop interpretative strategies and create a meaningful visitor experience.

Abstract (sommario):
Introduction: According to WHO, obstetric violence is characterized by lack of humanity, respect and care for the parturient woman and her baby. Attitudes such as mistreatment, cursing and procedures without the woman's consent in health institutions are considered as obstetric violence, causing psychological and physical trauma to the pregnant woman's life. Objectives: To describe the level of knowledge of nulliparous women from different social classes in the Federal District and surrounding areas, regarding obstetric violence. Methods: This is a cross-sectional descriptive study, with a quantitative study, with the objective of evaluating the level of knowledge of nulliparous women about obstetric violence. The methodology used is the snowball technique, in which contacted women through social networks and sequential and continued referrals to family and friends. The participants will be invited to participate in the survey and will receive all information regarding the study, as well as your participation in the study. Results: It was observed a high number of students with little knowledge about obstetric violence, mainly in the questions involving enema (bowel lavage) 44.6%, 32.7% of women are unaware of Kristeller maneuver as a type of obstetric violence and 31.7% of women are unaware of the use of trichotomy 26.7% do not agree. Regarding the restriction of locomotion of the parturient, 26.7% have heard about it, but do not know, and 13.9% do not agree. Conclusion: In general, this study showed a greater lack of knowledge about obstetric violence among nulliparous women, regardless of socioeconomic class.

Abstract (sommario):
This chapter looks at Lisa Oettinger's trunks, the contents of which unravel not one but two family stories, which Lisa purposefully joined: her own German-Jewish past and that of her husband's family, which is rooted in reformist Islam. The suitcases are therefore filled with the relics of German/Jewish/Muslim/South Asian bourgeois life and reflect one woman's efforts to make sense of her displacement by collecting objects from Germany and South Asia that “matched” or mirrored one another. Indeed, the carefully preserved intimate items are the material traces of a quite extraordinary migration story. Ultimately, Lisa Oettinger's collection saved two families from being forgotten: the Oettingers from Marienwerder and the Ur-Rahmans from Lahore. The collection allows them not only to live on in their things but also to join their family traditions in one box. For that reason, her collection is neither specifically Jewish nor specifically Muslim. It is in-between.

Abstract (sommario):
The woman, since God created her, was equal to the man, and a foundation on which life, the family, and society rest. Girlfriend, lover, dancer, singer, wife. Arab poetry immortalized many women, such as Abla Bint Malik Al-Absi, Habiba Antarah Bin Shaddad, Laila Habiba Majnoon Bani Amer, Buthaina Habiba Jamil, Afra Habiba Urwa, and the birth of Habiba Ibn Zaydun. In the modern era, poets emerged who had the upper hand in dealing with the issue of women, and talking about them in their poems. He describes her, flirts with her, praises her charms, or attacks and criticizes her. In this research, I wanted to address the image of the woman in the poetry collection (The Brunette Said to Me) by Nizar Qabbani, in an attempt to clarify his position towards her as it was revealed in this collection that we chose. Because it is his first collection of poetry. The aim of the study is to clarify the true image of women in this collection of poetry from the poet's perspective, his attitude towards her, and his view of her, while he was in the prime of his life and in the prime of his youth. The researcher uses the descriptive and analytical approaches, presenting and analyzing Nizar Qabbani's poems related to this topic as contained in his poetry collection (The Brunette Said to Me). To deduce, clarify, and extrapolate her image or images from the poet's perspective.

Abstract (sommario):
In the XX–XXI centuries, Assyrian art monuments suffered many destructions and acts of vandalism. The main preserved layer for study is small plastic ivory. The “woman in the window” motif, presented in the collection of the Sulaymaniyah Museum in Iraq and previously not considered in the scientific field, has an exceptional plot for the period of the Neo- Assyrian Empire.

Abstract (sommario):
Context: Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease is an inflammatory disorder, which presents with intraocular, auditory and central nervous system involvement. It has two distinct courses: acute onset and chronic recurrence, whose differential diagnoses are, respectively, diseases of the optic neuromyelitis spectrum, and chronic meningitis. The diagnostic criteria developed by the international disease committee in 2001 classify patients into: probable disease (ocular findings only), incomplete (ocular plus cutaneous system or neurological manifestations) and complete (when the three forms occur together). Methods: Report the case of a patient seen at the emergency room of Santa Casa de São Paulo, diagnosed with Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease. Case report: 43-year-old woman, reporting occipital headache, with irradiation to the retro-orbital region, progressed to sudden bilateral amaurosis, in addition to conjunctival hyperemia. Neurological physical examination presented bilateral visual acuity (Snellen)> 20/200, poorly delimited optical discs. Uveitis and scleritis were also found. Brain and orbit MRI showed: bilateral retinal detachment, with small subretinal collections; regular thickening and impregnation of the choroid; tenuous episcleral impregnation; alteration of the sign of the inner ears, more evident in the cochleae; tenuous linear leptomeningeal impregnation at the level of the cerebellobulbar cistern. Liquor: 21 cells (99% lymphocytes), 31 proteins and 47 glucose, negative culture for bacteria. We proceeded to infusion 1000mg of methylprednisolone for 3 days, with daily use, subsequently, of prednisone 60mg, with significant improvement of the condition. Conclusions: It is a rare disease, but it must be recognized by every neurologist, since it is treatable and can leave serious visual sequelae.

Abstract (sommario):
The situation of women in the engineering world has different aspects. On the one hand, it can be stated that women are well received in certain areas of the technological world, and they are very integrated into academia. In other areas, such as the world of industrial business, recognition is more complex being those less open environments. Last century, the woman who broke the taboo in Spain was the mayor of Bilbao and the first industrial engineer graduated in Spain in 1912, Pilar Careaga. By means of her public presence, her message could reach the general society, but as something exceptional. At the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao, the first female Industrial Engineer was Pilar Ipiña, graduated in 1965. Fifty-three years had passed. Women in Engineering, more than a century later, remain a clear minority. While it is true that the presence of women in engineering schools is socially fully accepted, it is no less true that many young women dismiss the possibility of approaching that world from an early age. The lack of benchmarks seems to be a clear factor. Many of the engineers who are being interviewed in the search for ideas to motivate girls and young women, end up seeing lacks of references when asked about it. While the experience of being a woman in such a traditionally male field has lights and shadows, reflect of what can be seen in different referenced studies, a positive message must be transmitted, as this has been the experience of both engineering students and workers in academia or in the business world. Proposing solutions to smooth out the differences in numbers between men and women in the world of Engineering and Science requires knowing the causes, in order to be able to carry out actions that lead to collecting women's talent and with the appropriate training give it all the value that can achieve, both in the improvement of society as a whole and in the personal development of each of them. The aim is to achieve real equal choice between women and men and put everyone at the service of a better society. Equality is theoretically achieved, but it can still be improved.

Abstract (sommario):
Orthoses are products considered assistive technology for maintaining or expanding the skills of people with physical disabilities (Pwd), promoting greater social integration. All Pwd's who have sequelae of hemiplegia/hemiparesis need to use an orthosis. Generally, such an artifact has characteristics that interfere negatively during its use. The design of products (orthesis and footwear) separately often meets the functional requirements but has limitations regarding the conditions to facilitate usability and offer attractive aesthetic attributes that can promote a pleasant experience for people with disabilities. Such aspects influence the way people move around and interfere negatively in the physical rehabilitation process. Rapid prototyping can contribute to the development of these products in a personalized way and provide better patient satisfaction. For this, it is necessary to develop a digital model with reliable dimensions and formats based on three-dimensional scanning. The objective of this study was to demonstrate the quality of the digital model through image capture by different instruments and image processing procedures to obtain the three-dimensional model. Three-dimensional scanning was performed in a hemiparetic woman, patient at APAE-Jaú. The procedures performed were Kinect device and Skanect software; tomography scanning, and digital photogrammetry technique using a professional camera and the software Agisoft Metashape. All scans were aimed at the development and production of orthoses. It was noted that the most efficient digital model for the development of a customized orthosis was the tomography procedure. The software for developing the three-dimensional model is free, however, data collection to obtain the image (CT scanner) is expensive.

Abstract (sommario):
Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common cause among women, with invasive ductal carcinoma (ICD) being the most prevalent and having great phenotypic and genotypic heterogeneity and the ability to metastasize. In turn, mastitis is an inflammation in the breast region, infectious or noninfectious causes, most commonly affecting lactating women. Objectives: It is intended to report a case of ICD accompanied by infectious mastitis and its reverberations. Case Report: A 27-year-old woman presents with a clinical history of mastitis in her left breast that occurred about 3 months ago after weaning her son. She also explained about the use of antibiotic therapy, multiple previous drainages, and local complication with engorgement, edema, erythema, and purulent drainage in the surgical ostium of the left breast. A new drainage and material collection was carried out. Computed tomography of the chest indicated a solid heterogeneous lesion, dense, irregular contours, with areas of air trapping, liquefaction, and cleavage plane with the left pectoralis major muscle and ipsilateral axillary adenomegaly. Pathological pathology confirmed the hypothesis of neoplasia, indicating grade III ICD in comedonecrosis. Immunohistochemistry demonstrated triple-negative character and culture, positivity for Corynebacterium renale. She started neoadjuvant chemotherapy with reduced breast volume and absence of secretion today. Discussion: This is a common and problematic situation in health systems. Repeated outpatient referrals, invasive processes without resolution, aggravating the patient’s case. Moreover, it is noted that mastitis has delayed the diagnosis of the neoplasm, which, depending on the delay, may result in a worse prognosis or a more aggressive or expensive treatment. Conclusion: The diagnostic investigation of neoplasms is of great importance in case of prolonged mastitis not responsive to treatment, due to the fact that many mastitides may come from neoplastic processes that generate the lesion, which can make this injured area conducive to bacterial proliferation.

Abstract (sommario):
A Monoclonal antibody (MCA) against α2-plasmin inhibitor α2-Pl) designated as JTP-1 inhibited antiplasmin act ivity and complex formation of a2-PI with plasmin. By using this MCA we tried to observe plasma-clot lysis (CL) in vitro and to estimate the level of total fibrinolytic capacity in plasma. As reported previously (Blood 55: U83, 1980) spontaneous CL is a striking feature of the plasma derived from a patient with α2-PI deficiency. We showed that this abnormally increased fibrinolysis was solely due to the deficiency of α2-PI. However, the contribution of plasminogen activator (PA) and its inhibitor to this specific patient' plasma -CL has been under discussion. Therefore, to test whether similar CL can be found in normal plasma without an addition of PA, plasma clots were made after incubation of plasma from normal volunteers containing 125i fibrinogen with various concentration of JTP-1, and fibrinolysis was measured by counting the soluble radioactivity. The addition of JTP-1 to plasma led to a dose-dependent enhancement of the soluble 125i fragment-release from the clot. However, JTP-1 had no effect on a2-PI-deficient plasma-CL. Other anti-a2-PI MCAs whose epitopes were not involved in the reactive site of a2-PI had no effect on CL and rabbit anti-mouse immunoglobulin IgG neutralized this JTP-l-inducing CL completely. Immunodepletion of tissue PA (tPA) or plasminogen from plasma decreased the rate of CL but that of prourokinase did not. To determine the role of PA inhibitor (PAl) released from platelets (pits) in the regulation of CL in vitro, plasma clots were made from pits poor plasma (PPP) and pits rich plasma (PRP), and CL was observed in the presence of JTP-1. There was almost no difference of the lysis time between PPP clot and PRP clot, although plasma clot from pregnant woman was lysed slowly. These results strongly suggest that endogenous t-PA in plasma is still functionally active after blood collection and CL is mainly prevented by a2-PI in vitro.-plasmin inhibitor (a2-Pl) designated as JTP-1 inhibited antiplasmin act ivity and complex formation of a2-PI with plasmin. Abstract (sommario):
This directory of surveys contains data on families and households in developing countries. The emphasis is on intergenerational linkages as well as conjugal ties and co-residential arrangements. Surveys that do not situate individuals within a family or household context are excluded. Thus, many labor force surveys with data on the employment status and earnings of men and women are not included unless they also collected data on respondents’ children and/or households. The same is true of contraceptive prevalence surveys that limit their attention to women’s reproductive behavior. The majority of surveys included in the directory are either household-based or woman-based. Most of the information for this directory was collected through two mailings to a total of 1,250 individuals or institutions in developing and developed countries. Requests for information were also mailed directly to various institutions involved in data collection and storage. Recipients were informed about the project’s goals and asked to complete a questionnaire on each survey for which they were responsible or of which they had specific knowledge.
