Abstract Interventions utilizing consumer-grade wearable and mobile devices may support older adult health and wellness. However, rapid technology change and short industry product release cycles limit timely incorporation of these devices. We developed a novel, multi-stage process to rapidly move from within-team evaluations to lab- and field-based participants studies based on small-sample technology testing methods from Human-Computer Interaction. We present findings from a first-stage evaluation of the Amazfit Bips smart watch for potential use in studies with older adults as part of the methodology validation. A four-person research team conducted evaluations using: 1) a wearables framework for user experience and feature availability; and 2) the System Usability Scale (SUS). Evaluators wore the watch seven days straight from the box. User experience checklists indicated high usability. However, corresponding comments identified challenges with downloading the mobile app, pairing the watch and phone, navigating watch and mobile interfaces, and privacy controls. Average SUS score was 65.6 indicating marginal usability (C grade). While meeting study goals, divergence in usability perceptions suggest the process could be improved by completing each set of instruments separately for the watch and mobile app rather than all at once. Given failures in pairing, app navigation challenges, and small screen size, the Amazfit Bips may be best suited for studies among older adults with a high degree of technical proficiency. For those with little technical experience or high disease burden, training materials and dedicated training with support may be required. Future steps are lab- and field-based tests with older adult participants.

Background Decreasing levels of physical activity (PA) increase the incidences of noncommunicable diseases, obesity, and mortality. To counteract these developments, interventions aiming to increase PA are urgently needed. Mobile health (mHealth) solutions such as wearable sensors (wearables) may assist with an improvement in PA. Objective The aim of this study is to examine which behavior change techniques (BCTs) are incorporated in currently available commercial high-end wearables that target users’ PA behavior. Methods The BCTs incorporated in 5 different high-end wearables (Apple Watch Series 3, Garmin Vívoactive 3, Fitbit Versa, Xiaomi Amazfit Stratos 2, and Polar M600) were assessed by 2 researchers using the BCT Taxonomy version 1 (BCTTv1). Effectiveness of the incorporated BCTs in promoting PA behavior was assessed by a content analysis of the existing literature. Results The most common BCTs were goal setting (behavior), action planning, review behavior goal(s), discrepancy between current behavior and goal, feedback on behavior, self-monitoring of behavior, and biofeedback. Fitbit Versa, Garmin Vívoactive 3, Apple Watch Series 3, Polar M600, and Xiaomi Amazfit Stratos 2 incorporated 17, 16, 12, 11, and 11 BCTs, respectively, which are proven to effectively promote PA. Conclusions Wearables employ different numbers and combinations of BCTs, which might impact their effectiveness in improving PA. To promote PA by employing wearables, we encourage researchers to develop a taxonomy specifically designed to assess BCTs incorporated in wearables. We also encourage manufacturers to customize BCTs based on the targeted populations.

Based on one simulated skin-electrode electrochemical interface, some electrochemical characteristics based on skin-electrode contact pressure (SECP) for dry biomedical electrodes were analysed and applied in this research. First, 14 electrochemical characteristics including 2 static impedance (SI) characteristics, 11 alternating current impedance (ACI) characteristics and one polarization voltage (PV), and 4 SECP characteristics were extracted in one electrochemical evaluation platform, and their correlation trends were statistically analysed. Second, dry biomedical electrode samples developed by the company and the laboratory, including textile electrodes, Apple watch, AMAZFIT rice health bracelet 1S, and stainless steel electrodes, were placed horizontally and vertically on the “skin” surface of the electrochemical evaluation platform, whose polarization voltages were quantitatively analysed. Third, electrocardiogram (ECG) collection circuits based on an impedance transformation (IT) circuit for textile electrodes were designed, and a wearable ECG acquisition device was designed, which could obtain complete ECG signals. Experimental results showed SECP characteristics for dry electrodes had good correlations with static impedance and ACI characteristics and the better correlation values among 2-10 Hz. In addition, polarization voltages in vertical state were smaller in horizontal state for dry biomedical electrodes, and polarization voltage of electrode pair (PVEP) values for Apple watch bottom was always smaller than ones for Apple watch crown and LMF-2 textile electrode. And the skin-electrode contact impedance of IT textile electrodes was less than the traditional textile electrodes.

In the modern era like today, watches not only function as timepieces, but have become a fashion trend for the community, especially teenagers. The increasing market demand for watches opens up opportunities for counterfeit watch sellers to sell their products by claiming that the watches they sell are genuine watches by offering relatively cheaper prices compared to genuine watches. This is very detrimental to consumers and also the watch industry. To minimize fraud committed by fake watch sellers, it is necessary to know the price of the original watch in advance, before buying the desired watch. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to predict the price of watches using the Random Forest method and will be developed into a web system using the Framework Flask. The results of the study using 3337 trees obtained an accuracy rate of 84,98% with a MAPE of 15,02%. The most influential variable on the price of watches is the material variable with the level of importance obtained at 0,359. After getting the best model, the model is then developed into a web system using the help of the Framework Flask and Heroku which can later be accessed online.

Nowadays, watching films at home is one of people's entertainment. Netflix is a service provider for watching films and provides many types of film genres. However, of the many films available, it makes users confused to choose which film to watch first. The solution to the problem is a system that provides recommendations for the best films to watch based on user ratings. Twitter is still people's favorite social media to express their feelings, thoughts, and criticisms. In this system, tweets serve as input data that will be processed into data with rating values. This research implemented a recommendation system based on user ratings from tweets using collaborative filtering combined with Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification and implemented it on user-based and item-based. The test results in this study show that Collaborative Filtering gets the best RMSE value results on item-based 0.5911 and 0.8162 on user-based. The Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification algorithm using hyperparameter tuning produces item-based values with a precision of 85.03% and recall of 90.71%, while user-based values with a precision of 87.75% and recall of 88.95%.

Moviegoers refer to online audience movie ratings before deciding to watch a movie. They are more inclined to watch a movie with a high average rating. We develop a system to predict average audience movie ratings based on the lead cast and crew at an early stage of movie production. After valuing multiple scenarios, investors can use our study to select the lead cast and crew objectively. Judicious selection of the key cast and crew is extremely important as investors commit to large sums of money as professional fees while signing contracts with them. Our study uses a relatively large sample of 1687 Indian movies spread across 10+ languages released in India between 2010 and 2019 to identify the important predictors influencing average audience movie rating. Identification of important predictors improves the explainability of the prediction model, which increases the investors’ trust in the predicted values. The best model, random forest, reduces the baseline prediction error of the average rating by 10.21%.

Users in the new age have countless choices of movies to watch, which creates the need for recommendation algorithms that will suggest a list of the best movies. The Recommendation algorithms will help users select the best movie to watch based on their personal choices and movie features. The first challenge among researchers is to find the most suitable dataset for the evaluation of recommendation algorithm performance. The work in the paper introduced a new MFRISE dataset to fulfil this challenge partially. The dataset is constructed using social data like Wikipedia, YouTube and other web sources with the help of web scraping data. The proposed algorithm uses Collaborative as well as Content-Based Filtering to produce more accurate results. This architecture is based on the biclustering technique to improve the accuracy of the predicted ratings for better recommendations. The biclustering method involves simultaneous clustering of the user, as well as movie dimensions. The biclustering method will uncover the hidden insights from the intersection of two clusters. The method has produced more relevant recommendations by reducing error values in the prediction of user ratings. The RMSE for the new algorithm is observed as 0.83, which is better than that of many popular algorithms. The paper presents several experiments for analysing the proposed bi-clustering method using meta-features of the new proposed dataset. The future development of the biclustering method is suggested at the end of our paper.

She is a woman holding a mirror up to her face – a fairly common trope in our artistic tradition, and one with which Woodman often engaged and manipulated throughout her tragically brief career. But the reflective side of the mirror is not directed at her, as we often see in such pictures. Rather, it is directed at us, or whoever happens to be looking at the image. In the mirror, we should see our face, or us looking back at ourselves, narcissistically, no doubt, or confidently self-aware. But we do not see ourselves. Rather, we see her back and the back of her head. In other words, and paradoxically, she faces us with her back turned towards us. She looks out at us looking at her refusing to look at us. Abstract This book brings together three subjects which command our attention because of their changing roles in everyday life, language, writing, and mobility. In different ways, borders are being crossed, redrawn, and redefined as we watch, and while comparable processes could be observed in the past, they are today more conspicuous than ever, being propelled by demographics, technological innovation, and consumer capitalism. The said three subjects interact in various ways and have an impact on language contact which, as this book is designed to show, are best captured by a processual view along the lines laid out for social analysis by Norbert Elias. The processual view of language and society adopted here is congenial with the sociolinguistic paradigm developed over the past several decades, with one important difference, it assigns writing a central position. Sociolinguistics has always concentrated heavily on speech and largely ignored writing, although the social importance of writing cannot be denied. Giving written language its due in this book, then, has four reasons. (1) Writing is the most consequential technology ever invented. (2) Writing both suggests stability and defines borders. (3) Linguistics, while emphasizing that writing is external to language, is nevertheless indebted for its analytic categories to writing. (4) By turning virtually everyone into a writer/producer of texts, the digital revolution has fundamentally changed communication patters in ways that impact both social formations and language. Computer mediated communication (CMC) has transformed the social functions of writing and, through it, language.

Especially if the Dead show he’d dropped for was a good one. And the one that evening at the Greek Theater in Berkeley was a hot one indeed. Sometimes. when the concert is only so-so. you get the introspective Carp at the end of the evening-not bad if you’re in the mood to watch a guy sit in a chair for three or four hours saying almost nothing.

For an audition, it is unwise to choose a lengthy aria, unless the item has been specifically requested. Be certain to sing your best item first. Do not save it for another round (which may never come). Most judges make up their minds about talent and potential during the first thirty to sixty seconds of singing. Generally, the singer will be permitted to choose his own first aria; the adjudicators may then select one or two others. At callbacks, the singer is usually asked for something other than his first-round choice. Because contrasting material will allow the judges to evaluate vocal prowess more fully, something bravura and something of a cavatina nature should be among the available choices.

Mental health problems are estimated to affect one in four people each year in the UK, making mental illness one of the commonest presentations to GP surgeries, outpatient clinics, and Emergency Departments. Yet many doctors and medical students feel uncertain about how to approach patients with a psychiatric disorder. The key to becoming a good psychiatrist lies in the clinical interview. There are few physical signs or investigations that allow doctors to diagnose psychiatric illness, so a detailed history and mental state examination are important. As a psychiatrist, you are in the privileged position of having patients tell you their personal stories, and the skill is in listening attentively and asking relevant questions to help to clarify parts of the story. The best way to practise these techniques is to watch experienced clinicians at work and to interview patients yourself. Obviously diagnosis is important, so you need to be aware of the types of symptoms that fit with each type of disorder, as well as the medical conditions that may mimic psychiatric illness. Investigations may be necessary to rule out other diseases, and you need to be able to request these appropriately. Psychiatrists have access to a range of treatments—medical (e.g. antidepressants), psychological (e.g. cognitive behavioural therapy), and physical (e.g. electroconvulsive therapy)—and you need to know which ones to recommend. Most of these treatments are delivered in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, so you should be clear about the roles of each team member. Finally, there is overlap between psychiatry and the law, which can raise interesting ethical issues. It is sometimes necessary to treat a person against their will, for the safety of that person or others, so you need to know about mental health law. Psychiatrists are also often requested to provide a second opinion in difficult capacity assessments.

The Name of the Rose is a 1986 film by Jean-Jacques Annaud, a novel adaptation, and a co-production of German, French, and Italian companies. The Name of the Rose, as it is known, is a 'historical mystery without police' by Umberto Eco, in which the 'political' authority war between the ruling power and the papacy institution, the conflicts between sects, and the pressures of religion on the people in Europe at the beginning of the 14th century, were woven like needlework through a seven-day slice of life and the seven sins associated with seven deaths. It is a tough novel with a detailoriented approach and philosophical weight in which Eco's deep knowledge is reflected in every line. The Name of the Rose is a book that has been translated into many languages, has been selected in the list of The Top 100 Crime Novels of All Time by the British Crime Writers' Association, and has been criticized for its approach to religion, but has also received much acclaim. Due to these features, it is a long and luscious work that carries serious risks to be adapted into cinema, and every detail has a meaning that cannot be ignored. Yet, in every frame of the film, in all open and closed spaces, the misery of the famine years of the Middle Ages, the bitter face of poverty, and the oppression of religion can be seen and felt. As those who have read the novel will remember, Eco began to describe the structure and the environment from the moment the protagonists started to see the monastery from afar. Once inside the monastery, all structures of the complex were explained in detail in terms of their place, size, form, relations with each other, and decoration. Undoubtedly, it is not possible to reflect this much detail properly in a limited time; however, it must be admitted that Annaud managed to reflect the general historical and architectural atmosphere as best as he could. The scenes in which we watch the eerie depictions of the reliefs, which also observe uneasiness and even fear, make the audience at least as uncomfortable as Adso.Cinema, which expresses its concerns through moving images, is a field of study that reveals its existence in other art branches and has to follow the technology closely. Literature and cinema, which have a common dramatic source, have always progressed art in art, and in The Name of the Rose, the relationship and affiliation of architecture, which is a visual field of study focused on intervention in space and designing the space for cinema has come to life in a much stronger and more violent way.

Leaders of a support group often debrief after each meeting. So, when we started the group for widowed fathers, we made a point of scheduling time for this practice, even though it would make long days even longer. We used these conversations to reflect on any new themes that emerged during the session, the interpersonal dynamics between the men, and any changes we needed to make to the group. What neither of us anticipated was how moved we would be by these men and what they were building together. Month after month, as the two of us talked following each meeting, we marveled at the fathers’ willingness to share their fears and vulnerabilities. Their authentic exchanges with each other belied the stereotype that men are reluctant to talk openly about their feelings. Each time a father articulated a concern or newly discovered insight, the others responded with honesty and compassion. They were becoming part of something larger than themselves. We found this project as interesting and meaningful as any professional work either of us had ever done. It was also uncharted territory. Because no one had ever led a support group for widowed fathers whose wives died from cancer, there were no books, articles, or lectures to guide us as group leaders or to shed light on the unique challenges these men were facing. Like the fathers, we were participants in this experiment and were committed to giving it our best shot. The group sessions generated plenty of painful, awkward moments during which we had little or no comfort to share. They also sparked moments of profound insight, inspiration, and humor. Our post-meeting discussions gave us a chance to compare notes and appreciate the progress of each man and the group as a whole. Returning home after each session, we would tell our wives how great the group was that evening. Once a month we each felt especially grateful that we could share these successes with our spouses. During our debriefing session on the night “Ring Watch” ended, we sensed that the group was at an inflection point.

Abstract According to the Periodic Safety Review Process, the safety level is re-assessed every ten years, considering national and international operational feedback, evolution of knowledge and best available practices. Protection against natural hazards is part of this safety level re-assessment. In the current global change context, climate change impact has to be integrated in external natural hazards estimations, such as climatic hazards or external flooding. EDF has consequently implemented a climate watch approach. Undertaken approximately every 5 years, roughly in line with the publication of the assessment reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and with the update of safety licensing basis during Periodic Safety Reviews, this approach is intended to: - revisit the climatic hazards which present a plausible or certain upward trend, and could lead to an increased reference hazard level, - monitor the reach of target levels which should trigger a thorough analysis (concept of Major Climate Event) to ensure the robustness of the reference hazard level between two periodic reviews. This climate watch approach is developed in partnership with the scientific community and is based on the following activities: - compile and analyze datasets on hazards that are subject to changes with climate change (observed and modelled time series), - develop knowledge of associated climatic phenomena (models, projections). The application of this approach is presented in two steps: - the key implications of the last climate watch exercise carried out in 2015, which identified climatic hazards whose evolution is unfavorable and is plausible or certain for the sites of EDF NPPs: ○ High air and water temperatures (for the “heat wave” hazard) ○ Sea level (for the “external flooding” hazard for coastal or estuary sites) ○ Drought or « low flow » hazard for fluvial sites; - the results obtained for the 900 MW units, for which EDF started the 4th periodic safety review in 2019. Such an approach, which is closely linked to periodic reviews, ensures the robustness of nuclear power plants to the climatic hazards through the consideration of the updated hazard levels.

Since the dawn of the Internet, abundance of content and information is constantly being created and shared at the speed of light across different media. Media technologies have given us almost unlimited access to choose and interact with vast amount of content and information. We seem to be in active control in choosing what information we want to see and interact with on the internet. Ironically, with all this interactive freedom, most of us still prefer to watch their favorite TV programs or films passively on interactive media platforms. New technologies such as streaming TV have provided many new platforms to present passive content but to what extent how these new technologies have affected the form and shape of content remains a question. Simply by looking at the ratio of programs for traditional passive viewing vs. programs with interactive content, the audience has spoken by choosing to watch conventional content passively. Interacting with content is more than just choosing what pre-made content to watch, for that we always have our remote control. Interacting with content is about having our own say or control about the outcome or direction of a story [1, 2]. Unlike what many media theories have predicted many years ago, interactive narrative has not become mainstream and would never replace conventional form of storytelling. Nevertheless, as more content is being delivered on mobile or personal computer in addition to the big screen, more interactive content will be made available in the foreseeable future. Many popular 4As video games have already mixed conventional storytelling elements with some interactive gaming functions in recent years [3]. This paper focuses on the concepts of choice and decision-making in storytelling and how interactive functions could be blended in with the narrative. Decision-making has always been an important part of storytelling, in which it’s the storyteller who make decisions for the characters and for the audience. A good story may still be best uninterrupted and told by the storytellers who know about the crafts of storytelling [4, 5]. Typical audience still enjoy watching adventure chosen for them rather than to choose their own adventure. This paper discusses the role of interactivity and the concept of choice-making in interactive storytelling.

With the advance in technology and social media usage, first-person recording videos has become a common habit. These videos are usually very long and tiring to watch, bringing the need to speed up them. Despite recent progress of fast-forward methods, they do not consider inserting background music in the videos, which could make them more enjoyable. This thesis presents a new method that creates accelerated videos and includes the background music keeping the same emotion induced by visual and acoustic modalities. Our approach is based on the automatic recognition of emotions induced by music and video contents and an optimization algorithm that maximizes the visual quality of the output video and seeks to match the similarity of the music and the video’s emotions. Quantitative results show that our method achieves the best performance in matching emotion similarity while maintaining the visual quality of the output video compared with other literature methods. With any new mode of transportation comes new fears for both the public and those involved in the industry. The advent of the transcontinental railroad was no different. When the transcontinental railroad was complete and trains became more commonplace for travel, the biggest fear became the worst case scenario: a head on collision between two trains. The idea of the head on collision remained the biggest fear of the public because it happened and was based on reality, but was rarely witnessed, which made the idea even more lofty. But with the standardization of time in the 1880’s, there were fewer crashes and collisions of railroads, but people were still afraid. Railroad companies began to brainstorm the best way to change public perception, and began to stage head on collisions open to public viewing for a small fee. Naturally, the idea took off, and head on collisions between trains became the next source of entertainment. For $2, spectators could watch two locomotives crash into each other at speeds of 58 miles an hour in Crush Texas, or even cheaper in Ohio. But this was more than just entertainment. William Crush, the most famous locomotive smasher had actually worked on the railroad known as the Katy. When asked by the executives of the railroad to boost sales, head on collision was his solution. Despite multiple injuries suffered in the crowd from shrapnel and an exploded boiler, this showcase worked, and ridership of the Katy increased dramatically. Crush’s display was not the first, or last time this took place around the country, but it was the most deadly, which makes it the most memorable and begs the question “what role do these staged collisions play in railroad history?” Ridership in the decades leading up to these staged collisions was steadily declining, and safety measures were not taken into consideration. But with these staged collisions that turned around. People, not just the public were able to see and study the different collisions and put minds at ease. But it also tells about the United States population at the time. These staged collisions could not have happened in any other era because of the industrial revolution which allowed railroad companies to begin to replace old locomotives and iron tracks with steel.

Problematic species, which include invasive, exotic, and harmful species, fragment native ecosystems, displace native plants and animals, and alter ecosystem function. In National Parks, such species negatively affect park resources and visitor enjoyment by altering landscapes and fire regimes, reducing native plant and animal habitat, and increasing trail maintenance needs. Recognizing these challenges, Heartland Inventory and Monitoring (I&M) Network parks identified problematic plants as the highest-ranking vital sign across the network. Given the need to provide early detection of potential problematic plants (ProPs) and the size of network parks, the Heartland I&M Network opted to allocate available sampling effort to maximize the area searched. With this approach and the available sampling effort in mind, we developed realistic objectives for the ProP monitoring protocol. The monitoring objectives are: 1. Create a watch list of ProPs known to occur in network parks and a watch list of potential ProPs that may invade network parks in the future, and occasionally update these two lists as new information is made available. 2. Provide early detection monitoring for all ProPs on the watch lists. 3. Search at least 0.75% and up to 40% of the reference frame for ProP occurrences in each park. 4. Estimate/calculate and report the abundance and frequency of ProPs in each park. 5. To the extent possible, identify temporal changes in the distribution and abundance of ProPs known to occur in network parks. ProP watch lists are developed using the best available and most relevant state, regional, and national exotic plant lists. The lists are generated using the PriorityDB database. We designed the park reference frames (i.e., the area to be monitored) to focus on accessible natural and restored areas. The field methods vary for small parks and large parks, defined as parks with reference frames less than and greater than 350 acres (142 ha), respectively. For small parks, surveyors make three equidistant passes through polygon search units that are approximately 2-acres (0.8 ha) in size. For large parks, surveyors record each ProP encountered along 200-m or 400-m line search units. The cover of each ProP taxa encountered in search units is estimated using the following cover scale: 0 = 0, 1 = 0.1-0.9 m2, 2 = 1-9.9 m2, 3 = 10-49.9 m2, 4 = 50-99.9 m2, 5 = 100-499.9 m2, 6 = 499.9-999.9 m2, and 7 = 1,000-4,999.9 m2. The field data are managed in the FieldDB database. Monitoring is scheduled to revisit most parks every four years. The network will report the results to park managers and superintendents after completing ProP monitoring.

Inflation has decreased since April, and it is projected to continue to reduce significantly throughout 2024 as it converges toward 3%. In September 2023, the headline annual inflation rate was 10.99% and completed six consecutive months of declines. Core inflation, excluding food and regulated items, has experienced three consecutive months of reductions and currently stands at 9.5%. The reduction in inflation has been slower than the projected by the Central Bank and market analysts, primarily due to: More persistent price increases in services and regulated baskets, which are affected by indexation mechanisms of past inflation and minimum wage. Increases in some prices of perishable food items. Going forward, monetary policy actions will continue contributing to inflation reduction in 2024 and its convergence toward the 3% target during 2025. Projections for 2024 consider the impact of the El Niño with moderate effects on food and energy prices, the implementation of healthy taxes, and necessary adjustments in fuel prices. Economic activity and employment continue to grow, with a projected GDP growth of 1.2% for 2023. The economic slowdown this year allows economic activity and consumption and investment expenditures to align with the long-term productive capacity of the economy, contributing to inflation reduction. For the third quarter, available economic indicators suggest an annual GDP growth of 0.4%. Despite the low growth rate, economic activity would maintain the high levels achieved in the first half of the year. Employment continues to grow in most economic sectors, and the unemployment rate remains historically low. The economic slowdown has been milder than the projected by the Central Bank, resulting in an upward revision of the 2023 growth rate from 0.9% to 1.2%. For 2024, the economy is expected to maintain a slow growth pace (0.8%), contributing to the inflation convergence to the target. Private consumption will adjust, while investment levels will remain lower than before the pandemic. In 2025, the economy is expected to return to growth rates close to those sustainable in the long-term. These adjustments in the economy are reflected in a reduction of the current account deficit and less vulnerability to external conditions changes. The policy interest rate remains at 13.25%, currently appropriate level to consolidate inflation reduction toward the 3% target and to foster sustainable economic growth. In the September and October meetings of 2023, the Board of Directors, by majority, decided to keep the interest rate unchanged at 13.25%. The current monetary policy stance is driven by persistent high inflation, forecasts and expectations of inflation exceeding the 3% target, and with levels of economic activity close to its productive capacity. The Bank will continue to monitor the economy and its key risks to make decisions that are in the best interest of the country. Some important risk factors to watch in the coming months include: El Niño phenomenon evolution, which may result in additional impacts on inflation. Wage adjustments that will be determined in the coming months. The persistence of higher price increases, particularly, in the services sub-basket. The behavior of global short and long-term interest rates that may affect the exchange rate. The economic slowdown. Reducing inflation brings multiple benefits to the economy: Reducing inflation toward the target supports the preservation of wage purchasing power. Low and stable inflation prevents regressive income and wealth redistributions. In particular, low-income individuals and the unemployed have fewer mechanisms to shield themselves from the eroding impact of inflation on their income and savings. When inflation is low, it becomes more predictable and facilitates the development and continuity of long-term financing markets (such as TES and mortgages), enabling the financing of government, corporate, and household investment projects. Additionally, when inflation is low, real interest rates are lower, making it more affordable to finance these projects. When inflation is low and stable, price movements of goods and services are more informative about the sectors in which it is most valuable to increase production. This leads to a better sectoral allocation of capital and labor and, therefore, to raising the total productivity of the economy.
