Abstract (sommario):
L’usage du graphisme dans la musique a existé tout au long de la histoire avec des différentes caractéristiques dans chaque période. Cependant, durant le XXe siècle, les nouvelles technologies apportent une nouvelle perspective à l’usage du graphisme dans la musique. L’UPIC (créée par le compositeur Iannis Xenakis en 1978) représente une évolution importante dans la création d’œuvres pour bande électronique due à la facilité de son usage et en même temps crée un lien importante entre la musique et les aspects visuels. L’usage de l’UPIC était assez limité par rapport à sa synthèse, la représentation de la structure musicale et la conception graphique des œuvres. Néanmoins, le compositeur et chercheur mexicain Julio Estrada trouve des solutions pour concevoir les différents aspects sonores de façon graphique à travers sa méthode chrono-graphique. D’ailleurs, la représentation graphique de la musique montre des aspects cognitifs importants par rapport à la façon dont nous concevons la musique. Ainsi, l’usage du graphique pour l’analyse ou la création peut être perçu et conçu de façon différente pour chaque individu. En même temps, les graphiques peuvent être utilisés pour remarquer des structures ou des éléments dans une œuvre musicale
The use of graphic design in music has existed throughout history with different characteristics in each musical period. However, during the 20th century, new technologies brought a new perspective about using graphic design in music. UPIC system (created by composer Iannis Xenakis in 1978) represents an important evolution on electroacoustic music works due to that it’s easy to use and it creates an important link between music and visual aspects at the same time. UPIC system was very limited about synthesis, representation of the musical structure and the graphic design of the works. Nevertheless, Mexican composer and researcher Julio Estrada founds some solutions to design the different graphical aspects of the sound through his chronographic method. In fact, the graphical music representation shows important cognitive aspects about our perception of music. Thus, the use of the graph for analysis and composition can be perceived and designed differently for each individual. At the same time, graphs can be used to highlight musical structures or elements in a musical work

Tiriamojo darbo objektas: Jūros pabaseinio upės: Akmena ties Paakmeniu, Jūra ties Taurage ir Šešuvis ties Skirgaliais. Tiriamojo darbo tikslas: Išanalizuoti sausinimo poveikį Jūros pabaseinio nuotėkiui. Tiriamojo darbo uždaviniai: 1. Nustatyti Jūros pabaseinio upių debito priklausomybę nuo atmosferinių kritulių. 2. Išanalizuoti sausinamų plotų kaitą Jūros pabaseinyje. 3. Įvertinti žemių sausinimo dinamikos pokyčius. 4. Įvertinti Jūros pabaseinio nuotėkio pokyčius drenuotuose plotuose. Tiriamojo darbo metodika: Darbui atlikti panaudoti 1951 – 2009 metų paros nuotėkio, metinio kritulių kiekio, vidutinės paros oro temperatūros duomenys ir nusausintų plotų apimtys. Sudarytas kritulių įtakos debitui grafikas, kuris parodo glaudų šių rodiklių ryšį. Nustatyta žemių sausinimo dinamika tiriamose upėse. Sudaryti nuotėkio koeficiantų kitimo grafikai. Tiriamojo darbo rezultatai: 1. Akmenos (ties Paakmeniu), Jūros (ties Taurage) ir Šešuvio (ties Skirgaliais) upių vidutiniai metiniai debitai ir metiniai kritulių kiekių rodikliai yra glaudžiai susiję. 2. Didžiausias nusausinim intensyvumo rodiklis 1995 metais nustatytas Akmenos upės 1,6. Mažiausias nusausinimo rodiklis yra Jūros upės baseine, ties Taurage - 1,2. Šešuvio upės baseine šis rodiklis 1,27. 3. Akmenos upės baseine iki 2000 metų buvo nusausinta 70 procentų žemės plotų. Jūros upės baseine iki 2000 metų nusausinta 72 procentai žemių. Objects of the research: The Jura river watershed (rivers: Akmena near Paakmenis, Jūra near Taurage, Šešuvis near Skirgaliai). Aim of the research: The influence of wetland drainage area on the Jura river watershed runoff. Objectives of the research: 1. To determine the influence of precipitation on the flow rate of rivulets belonging to the Jura river watershed. 2. To analyse the changes in the drained areas of the Jura subbasin. 3. To evaluate the change of dynamics in land drainage. 4. To evaluate changes in the Jura basin runoff in drained areas. Methods of the research: The following data (of 1951-2009) were used: 24 hours flow rate, annual amount of precipitation, average day and night temperature, areas of drained land. A graph of correlation between precipitation and flow rate, which shows a direct relation, was drawn. The graphs of flow rate koefficient variation were created. The findings of the research: 1. The average annual river flow rates and annual precipitation rates of the rivers: Akmena (at Paakmenys), Jura (at Taurage) and Šešuvis (at Skirgaliai) are closely related. 2. The highest rate of drainage intensity in 1995, the river Akmena 1.6. The minimum rate is the Jura drainage basin, near Taurangė - 1.2. Šešuvis basin the figure 1.27. 3. O tema abordado, SISTEMA DE UNIDADES PADRÃO ESCOLAR - UPEC, possui como objetivo a criação de unidades prediais escolares, projetadas para apoiar o ensino público primário e secundário. A principal característica onde se apoia todo o sistema, é sua flexibilidade. As unidades escolares são viabilizadas e construídas, a partir de um estudo de dimensionamento e classificação em função da demanda local, à época de sua implantação. Daí serem superadas em capacidade, em alguns casos, em curto espaço de tempo. O Sistema proposto permite o crescimento das edificações, habilitando-as para a ampliação do número de usuários existente. A transformação das edificações através da ampliação de suas instalações físicas faz-se de forma natural, sem prejuízo do aspecto formal e sem interromper as atividades escolares durante o período letivo, uma vez que não interfere de forma direta nos espaços existentes. Concebido no sistema estrutural metálico, dado à sua afinidade com os objetivos de nossa proposta, contempla principalmente os seguintes itens: • Flexibilidade • Baixo custo de implantação • Rapidez na execução da obra • Facilidade de transporte • Desmonte e locomoção com reaproveitamento • Possibilidade de industrialização. • Adaptabilidade ao terreno As unidades escolares, denominadas UPECs, classificam-se segundo o número de salas de aula, que pode variar de 4 a 16. Os crescimentos foram previstos caso a caso de acordo com a categoria de cada edificação. A viabilidade do sistema construtivo metálico foi analisada pela USIMINAS, que se posicionou de forma favorável ao projeto apresentado. ______________________________________________________________________________________________
ABSTRACT: This work aims at the designing of schools, proposed to the primary and secondary degree, sponsored by the government. The main characteristic of this system is its flexibility. The schools are designed and built according to previous researchs concerning its dimensions and classification according to its local conditions at time of implantation.In this case, they are likely to become surpassed in short time. The system allows the expansion of the building according to its new requirements, fulfilling the needs of the different categories concerning the number of classrooms, and is conceived in steel structures, so that the exchange of categories is achieved in a natural way, keeping the formal aspects and without interference in the school activities.The following itens are considered: • Flexibility • Low costs of implantation • Fast erection of building • Easy transportation • Easy dismounting and new use • Industrialization possibilities • Adaptability to the site The school units are classified according the number of classrooms with can vary from 4 (four) to 16 (sixteen). The expansions where studieds according to each categorie of building. The feasibility of the constructive system was analized and aproved by USIMINAS.

Disertacijoje nagrinėjamos biogeninių medžiagų migracijos Lietuvos upių pakrančių nuogulose ypatybės ir jų įtaka upių vandens kokybei. Tyrimų objektu pasirinkti šeši skirtingose Lietuvos hidrologinėse srityse esantys tipingų nuogulų upių baseinai. Toks objektų pasirinkimas leidžia darbo rezultatus taikyti bet kuriame Lietuvos upės baseine. Disertacijos tikslas – atsižvelgiant į klimatines bei upės baseino geomorfologines sąlygas nustatyti biogeninių medžiagų migracijos ypatybes nuogulose, gruntiniuose ir paviršiaus vandenyse, siekiant įvertinti biogeninių medžiagų koncentracijų kaitą upių pakrančių skirtingų nuogulų aeracinėse zonose ir jos įtaką upių vandens kokybei. Darbe analitiniais, natūriniais ir eksperimentiniais tyrimais, matematiniu modeliavimu įvertinami biogeninių medžiagų koncentracijų kaitos dėsningumai upių baseinuose ir pakrantėse. Disertaciją sudaro įvadas, trys skyriai, bendrosios išvados, naudotos literatūros ir autoriaus publikacijų disertacijos tema sąrašai. Įvadiniame skyriuje suformuluota tiriamoji problema, darbo aktualumas, tyrimų objektas, formuluojamas darbo tikslas bei uždaviniai, darbo mokslinis naujumas, darbo rezultatų aprobavimas, ginamieji teiginiai. The PhD thesis deals with the characteristics of biogenic substance migration in the Lithuanian riverbank sediments and its impact on the river water quality. Six catchments of rivers with different dominant sediments, located in different hydro-logic areas of Lithuania, were selected as the object of the research. Such object selection allows to apply the results of the work to any catchment of a Lithuanian river. The aim of the thesis is to establish the characteristics of the migration of biogenic substances in sediments, ground and surface waters, taking into considera-tion climatic and geomorphological conditions of the river catchment, in order to evaluate the change in the concentration of biogenic substances in riverbank aeration zone of different sediments as well as its impact on the quality of the river water. Analytical, field investigations and experimental studies as well as mathematical modelling were applied in the work to evaluate the patterns of the change of concentration of biogenic substances in river catchments and riverbank areas. The thesis consists of an introduction, free chapters, general conclusions and lists of references as well as the author’s publications on the topic of the PhD thesis. Skirtingos vandens kokybės upėse bentoso dumblių bendrijų tyrimai atlikti 2004–2006 m. Tyrimų metu iš viso identifikuota 61 rūšis, kuris priklauso 5 skyriams (Cyanobacteria, Rhodophyta, Xantophyta, Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta), 6 klasėms (Cyanophyceae, Florideophyceae, Xantophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Conjugatophyceae) ir 17 eilių (Chroococcales, Oscillatoriales, Nostocales, Acrochaetiales, Batrachospermales, Hildenbrandiales, Tribonematales, Vaucheriales, Centrales, Pennales, Microsporales, Oedogoniales, Chaetophorales, Ulotrichales, Cladophorales, Tetrasporales, Zygnematales). Skirtingos vandens kokybės upėse didžiausia rūšių įvairove išsiskyrė melsvabakterės (Cyanobacteria) bei žaliadumbliai (Chlorophyta). Atitinkamai identifikuotos 25 ir 19 rūšių, kurios atitinkamai sudaro 41 % ir 31.1 % visų rūšių skaičiaus. Kitų klasių rūšių rasta mažiau: titnagdumbliai (Bacillariophyta) - 8 (13.1 %), raudondumblių (Rhodophyta) - 7 (11.5 %) ir gelsvadumblių (Xantophyta) - 2 (3.3 %). Tyrimų metu buvo pastebėta, kad bentoso dumblių paplitimas yra įvairus skirtingos vandens kokybės upėse (II, III, IV ir nenustatytos vandens kokybės). Šiose upėse taksonominis santykis panašus. Plačiai tirtuose vandens telkiniuose paplitusios rūšys: Chamaesiphon incrustans, Heteroleibleinia kossinskajae, Audouinella chalybea, Vaucheria sessilis, Cocconeis placentula, Achnanthidium minutissimum, Gomphonema truncatum, Aulacoseira islandica, Melosira varians ir Cladophora glomerata. Investigation of benthic algae communities were carried out in the rivers of different water quality during the period 2004–2006. In total, 61 taxa were identified during this research. They belong to 5 divisions (Cyanobacteria, Rhodophyta, Xantophyta, Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta), 6 classes (Cyanophyceae, Florideophyceae, Xantophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Conjugatophyceae) and 17 orders (Chroococcales, Oscillatoriales, Nostocales, Acrochaetiales, Batrachospermales, Hildenbrandiales, Tribonematales, Vaucheriales, Centrales, Pennales, Microsporales, Oedogoniales, Chaetophorales, Ulotrichales, Cladophorales, Tetrasporales, Zygnematales). In the rivers of different water quality the biggest variety of species belongs to cyanobacteria (Cyanobacteria) and green-algae (Chlorophyta). There were detected 25 and 19 species respectively, which accordingly constitutes 41 % and 31.1 % of the whole number of species. The variety of other species were less rich: diatom (Bacillariophyta) - 8 (13.1 %), red-algae (Rhodophyta) - 7 (11.5 %) and yellow-algae (Xantophyta) - 2 (3.3 %). During the study was mentioned that benthic algae distribution are different in the rivers of different water quality (II, III, IV and unknown water quality classes). Abstract (sommario):
Baigiamojo bakalaurinio darbo tema - Tauragės miesto įtaka Jūros ir Šešuvio upių taršai. Darbo tikslas - įvertinti Tauragės miesto ir paviršinių lietaus nuotekų įtaką Jūros ir Šešuvio upių vandens kokybei. Darbe aprašyta esama upių būklė. Nustatyti Jūros ir Šešuvio upių svarbiausi taršos šaltiniai Tauragės mieste ir aptartos upių vandens kokybės gerinimo galimybės. Atliktas Jūros ir Šešuvio upių vandens užterštumo eksperimentinis tyrimas. Mieginiai buvo paimti šešiose vietose: du mėginiai paimti aukščiau miesto, du – miesto ribose ir du už miesto. Mėginiuose buvo išmatuotos: pH, skendinčių medžiagų (SM) kiekio, BDS7, naftos produktų, bendro azoto ir fosforo koncentracijos reikšmės. Nustatyta: pH svyravo 7,8 - 8,2; bendrojo azoto Jūros vandenyje padidėjo, bet DLK neviršijo. Bendrojo fosforo kiekiai svyravo 0,083 - 0,133 mg/l. Šešuvio upėje bendrojo fosforo kiekiai viršijo paviršinio vandens telkiniams nustatytas normas. Naftos produktai Jūros ir Šešuvio upėse neviršijo DLK reikšmės. Po lietaus naftos produktų kiekis padidėjo neženkliai. Skendinčių medžiagų kiekis Jūros ir Šešuvio upėse svyravo 38 - 63 mg/l. Po lietaus skendinčių dalelių kiekis viršijo DLK reikšmę.. Jūros ir Šešuvio upių vandens kokybei gerinti darbe numatytos priemonės: sutvarkyti Tauragės miesto lietaus nuotekų sistemą, įrengiant nuotekų valyklas; renovuoti buitinių nuotekų valyklą; sutvarkyti upių pakrantes, pritaikant jas rekreacijai.
Bachelor’s final work, Tauragė town influence on pollution of rivers the Jūra and the Šešuvis. The subject of the research- to assess Tauragė town and surface rainfall influence on water quality of rivers the Jūra and the Šešuvis. The current status of rivers is described in the theoretical part of this work. A diagnosis is given of the main pollution sources of rivers the Jūra and the Šešuvis in Tauragė. Opportunities how to improve water quality of these rivers are discussed at the end of this work. Pollution of rivers the Jūra and the Šešuvis is analysed in the practical part of the research. Samples were taken at six locations: two samples were taken above the town, two- in the town and two- outside the town. pH, suspended matter (SM) content, BDS7, total means of nitrogen and phosphorus concentration were measured. A diagnosis was given that pH ranged from 7,8 to 8,2; total nitrogen in water of river the Jūra was increased, but didn’t exceed the DKL. Total phosphorus levels ranged from 0,083 to 0,133 mg/l. Total phosphorus levels in river the Šešuvis were below standards. Oil products didn’t exceed the DLK values in both rivers. After raining amount of oil products rose slightly. Suspended matters in both rivers ranged from 38 to 63 mg/l. After raining suspended matters exceeded the DKL value. Abstract (sommario):
The content of this dissertation consists of three parts. In the first part, optimal control strategies are developed for Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) following the clearance of fault conditions. UPFC is one of the most versatile Flexible AC Transmission devices (FACTs) that have been implemented thus far. The optimal control scheme is composed of two parts. The first is an optimal stabilization control, which is an open-loop 'Bang' type of control. The second is an suboptimal damping control, which consists of segments of 'Bang' type control with switching functions the same as those of a corresponding approximate linear system. Simulation results show that the proposed control strategy is very effective in maintaining stability and damping out transient oscillations following the clearance of the fault. In the second part, a new power market structure is proposed. The new structure is based on a two-level optimization formulation of themarket. It is shown that the proposed market structure can easily find the optimal solutions for the market while taking factors such as demand elasticity into account. In the last part, a mathematical programming problem is formulated to obtain the maximum value of the loadibility factor, while the power system is constrained by steady-state dynamic security constraints. Aniterative solution procedure is proposed for the problem, and the solution gives a slightly conservative estimate of the loadibility limit for the generation and transmission system.

Study of the UPCF applied to long lines O avanço da eletrônica de potência e de sua aplicação em Sistemas Elétricos de Potência proporcionaram uma nova tecnologia denominada FACTS - Flexilble AC Transmission Systems . Sob o conceito FACTS, encontram-se encontram-se equipamentos para a compensação da potência reativa, regulação de tensão e controle estático e dinâmico do fluxo de potência ativa em linhas de transmissão. Os equipamentos FACTS atualmente pesquisados vêm apresentando novas perspectivas de controle para os sistemas de potência até então não verificadas com o uso de compensadores convencionais. Dentre os equipamentos FACTS pesquisados está o Compensador Generalizado. O Compensador Generalizado oferece a possibilidade de um controle simultâneo e independente do fluxo de Potência ativa e das tensões nas barras do sistema. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é analisar o funcionamento do Compressor Generalizado em regime permanente aplicado a linhas longas. É avaliado sua situação operando numa linha de 2400 km. Dois casos extremos foram abordados: compensação sob carga nominal e compensação sob rejeição de carga. Os resultados obtidos com o Compensador Generalizado foram comparados com os resultados prévios obtidos através de uma compensação realizada com o uso de capacitores série e reatores em derivação. Desta forma, foram verificadas as vantagens oferecidas pelo Compensador Generalizado em relação a outros equipamentos e as possibilidades oferecidas aos sistema de transmissão face às novas alternativas de controle de fluxo de potência proporcionadas.
The improvement of power electronics and its application in Power Systems introduced a new technology denominated FACTS - Flexible AC Transmission Systems. The FACTS concept includes equipment for reactive compensation, voltage regulation and static and dynamic control of the active power flow in transmission lines. The FACTS equipment under recent researches is showing new perspectives for power systems controlling, which were not achieved with conventional compensators. Among the researched FACTS equipment, there is the Unified Power Flow Controller. The UPFC provides a simultaneous and independent control of the active power flow and the voltages in the system. The main objective of this study is to analyze the steady state operation of the UPFC applied to long lines, specially the case fo a 2400 km line. Two extreme cases are discussed: compensation under rated load and compensation under load rejection. The obtained results with the UPFC are compared with previous results from a compensation performed with series capacitors and shunt reactors. Thus, this study presents the advantages of the UPFC in regard of other equipment and the possibilities offered to the transmission systems due to the new provided alternatives for power flow controlling.

This work reflects upon the use of the 'microlearning' technique in the teacher's learning proccess. The experience of microlearning in UPC is developed as part of the proccess of induction that 'Quality Education Department' (Departamento de Calidad Educativa) gives to the new teachers. The results of the term 2006-02 of the analysis of the 'teachers skills' in the microlearning are shown and the possibilities that this technique offers are disscussed. This helps the new teachers to reinforce their pedagogical skills and to understand and work under the Educational Model of the UPC. At the same time it gives and accepts feedback so that the teacher can continue to complement their pedagogical learning.
El trabajo presenta una reflexión sobre el uso de la técnica de la microenseñanza en la formación de docentes. La experiencia de microenseñanza en la UPC se desarrolla como parte del proceso de inducción que el Departamento de Calidad Educativa brinda a los profesores nuevos. Se presentan los resultados del análisis de las Habilidades Docentes en las Microenseñanzas realizadas en el ciclo 2006-02 y se discute sobre las posibilidades de capacitación que brinda esta técnica, ayudando a los docentes nuevos a reforzar sus habilidades pedagógicas y alinearse al Modelo Educativo de la UPC. A su vez, otorga retroalimentación y permite brindar sugerencias para que el profesor pueda seguir formándose como pedagogo

The processing characteristics of PVC compounds play a major role on the ability of the equipment to control the final properties of the product. Therefore, information on the effect of processing conditions on such characteristics. and its influence on the final properties can lead to an optimization of the extrusion process. In this work. a statistically based experimental design was used in order to investigate the role of the operating conditions on the extrusion of a simple lead based PVC formulation. Both a single and a twin screw extruder were used - they were instrumented, and data collected by computer. A die was designed for the formulation used. with both shear and extensional flows being taken into account. These experiments produced both core samples along the screw(s) and final products with varying states of fusion. The fusion mechanism on processing was monitored with the help of electron and light microscopy techniques. thermal analysis and density measurements. In both types of extruders the primary particles were found to fuse well before the grains, but the overall mechanism differs for each type of machine. An experimental technique was developed for the study of the Residence Time (RT) and Residence Time Distribution (RTD) of the material in the processing equipment. These functions were related to the operating conditions and compared with the available models for extrusion. The degree of fusion of the processed products was assessed by rheology and thermal analysis. A range of mechanical properties, relevant to the general end - use of rigid PVC formulations. was analysed: flexural. tensile and impact properties were found to be directly related with fusion level. Hardness, measured using a newly developed apparatus. proved to be a potential technique for the degree of gelation of PVC formulations.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to create a comprehensive study of measurement accuracy of coordinate measuring machine (hereinafter CMM) Zeiss UPMC 850 Carat S-ACC (hereinafter Zeiss Carat) for the needs of the national metrological institute in Brno in accordance with ČSN EN ISO / IEC 17025 and the follow-up system standards of the ČSN EN ISO 10360 series. Additionally, it includes the creation of instructions for the calculation of measurement uncertainty, which will be put into effect in an accredited calibration laboratory. The first part of the work focuses on the description of the current state of knowledge and the definition of basic concepts in the field of metrology and accurate measurements on CMM. The second part describes the Zeiss Carat measuring machine, identifies the individual contributors to the resulting measurement uncertainty and defines the methodology for their quantification. The last part deals with the evaluation of calibration data and the calculation of the expanded measurement uncertainty of the Zeiss Carat instrument, which is used to quantify its accuracy.

Vandens kokybės tyrimus atlieka Aplinkos ministerijos regionų Aplinkos apsaugos departamentai ir Aplinkos apsaugos agentūra. Tyrimų objektu pasirinktame Mūšos upės baseine analizuoti vandens mėginiai, imti aukščiau ir žemiau miestų, žemės ūkio įtakos vietose, upių žiotyse ir Lietuvos respublikos pasienyje. Remiantis Mūšos upės baseino cheminiais-fiziniais parametrais nustatyta, kad daugelio šio baseino upių vanduo 1997 – 2004 metų periodu buvo užterštas. Kulpės (žemiau Šiaulių) ir Obelės (žemiau Radviliškio) vanduo buvo smarkiai užterštas azotinėmis bei fosfatinėmis medžiagomis; Kulpės (žiotyse), Mūšos (žemiau Kulpės įtekėjimo) – azotinėmis ir fosfatinėmis; Lėvens (žiotyse) – tik fosfatinėmis medžiagomis. Tik kai kuriose upėse stebimas vandens taršos mažėjimas. Tarp aukščiau ir žemiau miestų paimtų mėginių teršalų koncentracijų stebimas ryškus skirtumas. Iš žemės ūkio naudmenų (kurių plotas sudaro 65% viso Mūšos baseino ploto), pasklidosios taršos pavidalu, į vandens telkinius patenka azoto, fosforo junginiai bei organinės medžiagos. Remiantis teoriniais skaičiavimo metodais nustatyta, jog didžiausia žmonių sukeliama dirvožemio antropogeninė apkrova yra Šiaulių, Radviliškio ir Pasvalio rajonuose. Gyvulių sukeliama antropogeninė apkrova didžiausia yra Pasvalio, Pakruojo ir Radviliškio rajonuose. Didžiausia bendra žmonių ir gyvulių antropogenine apkrova pasižymi Pasvalio ir Pakruojo rajonai, mažiausia – Šiaulių rajonas. Daug šio tipo teršalų yra buitinėse bei pramoninėse... The researches of water quality are made by regional Departments of Environment Protection of Ministry of Environment. In watershed of the Mūša were analysed samples of water taken at upwards and downwards the river from cities, agricultural spheres of influence, influx of the river and at the border of Republic of Lithuania. According to chemical-physical parameters of the Mūša watershed, in period of1997 - 2004 year, water in the most of watershed rivers was polluted. Water in the Kulpė( downwards Šiauliai) and the Obelė (downwards Radviliškis) was heavily polluted with nitric and phosphatic compounds; The Kulpė (at influx),the Mūša (downwards the Kulpė) – nitric and phosphatic;the Lėvuo(at influx) – only phosphatic. Only in some rivers degression of pollution was detected. There is a large difference between concentrations of pollution in the samples taken upwards and downwards the city. Agricultural landed property pollutes water with nitric, phosphatic compounds and organic substances. According to theoretical methods of calculation, the largest amount of anthropogenic load to soil caused by human goes to districts of Šiauliai, Radviliškis and Pasvalys. The anthropogenic load to soil caused by animals is observed in districts of Pasvalys, Pakruojis and Radviliškis. The largest anthropogenic load to soil caused by human and animals can be found in Pasvalys and Pakruojis districts, the least – in Šiauliai district. Pagrindinis šio darbo tikslas buvo ištirti hidromorfologinių upės savybių ir invasinės rūšies, Dreissena polymorpha poveikį vandens moliuskų bendrijų struktūrai. Pasirinktos penkios tyrimų upės: Babrungas, Lakaja, Peršokšna, Verknė ir Žeimena. Taipogi atliktas laboratorinis eksperimentas, įvertinti dreisenos apaugimo poveikį Unio pictorum somatiniam augimui. Tyrimo metu, iš viso rasta 31 vandens moliuskų rūšis. Didžiausia rūšinė įvairovė nustatyta šaltavandenėjeVerknės upėje (22 rūšys), o mažiausia, 7 rūšys – šiltavandenėje Lakajos upėje. Pirmą kartą Lietuvos gėluosiuose vandenyse, Vilkokšnio ežere ir Verknės upėje aptikta Potamopyrgus antipodarum rūšis. Buvo tikrinta hipotezė, kad didžiausias dreisenų gausumas yra upės ištakose, o upės kontinuume jis mažėja. Ryškiausias dreisenų poveikis vietinėms vandens moliuskų bendrijoms nustatytas ties ištakomis, kur šios invazinės rūšies gausumas ir biomasė didžiausi. Šis poveikis gradientiškai mažėja nuo ištakų link žiočių. Be to, buvo tikrintas hidromorfologinių upės savybių, tokių kaip gruntas, srovės greitis, poveikis moliuskų gausumui, biomasei ir bioįvairovei. Nustatyta, kad substratas, srovės greitis ir pati upė turi reikšmingos įtakos moliuskų gausumui ir biomasei. Bioįvairovę reikšmingai įtakojo tik grunto tipas. Taip pat, tikrinta hipotezė, kad nedidelis dreisenų apaugimas neturi reikšmingo poveikio Unio pictorum individų somatiniam augimui. The main objective of this work was to investigate the effect of hydromorphological features of the rivers and invasive species to the molluscs community structure. The selected rivers were: Babrungas, Lakaja, Peršokšna, Verknė and Žeimena. In these rivers mollusc abundance, biomass, biodiversity and dominance were examined. What is more, the laboratory experiment was made to check the influence of infestation of Dreissena polymorpha on Unio pictorum mussel somatic growth. Durind the study, 31 species of freshwater molluscs were found in 5 examined rivers. The bigest species richness was found in a coldwater river Verknė (22 species) and the lowest – in warmwater river Lakaja (7 species). First time in a freshwaters of Lithuania, invasive species Potamopyrgus antipodarum was found in a lake Vilkokšnis and Verknė river. The hypothesis, that dreissena is most abundant near the outfall and decreases in the continuum of the rivers was tested. The most significant effect of Dreissena polymorpha to the mollusc communities was found to be near the outfall of the rivers, where its abundance and biomass are biggest. This effect declines, because zebra mussel abundance and biomass decreases in the continuum of the river. Neste trabalho são exploradas as potencialidades e efeitos de possíveis aplicações do UPFC (Unified Power Flow Controller) em redes elétricas. Este recente equipamento da família FACTS, apesar de mais complexo, apresenta rapidez e versatilidade de respostas que podem justificar sua aplicação em redes elétricas. São apresentados modelos matemáticos deste dispositivo, para regime permanente e transitório, utilizando transformações para coordenadas ortogonais. Com base nas respostas obtidas, durante as simulações das aplicações estudadas, pode-se constatar que a tensão série e seu posicionamento angular, introduzidos pelo UPFC, desempenham um importante papel no controle rápido e eficiente do fluxo de potência. Como contribuição deste trabalho, explorou-se a conexão do conversor shunt ao enrolamento terciário de autotransformadores, demonstrando a viabilidade do controle do fluxo de potência nestes equipamentos de transformação. O esquema proposto, instalado em transformadores em paralelo, eleva a disponibilidade de operação do UPFC, aumentando a flexibilidade operativa do sistema em implementações práticas. Através da formulação apresentada, o transformador de acoplamento shunt, convencionalmente utilizado pelo UPFC, apresenta dimensões reduzidas. Foi também examinada a possibilidade de limitação de correntes de curto-circuito, equilibrados ou não, com a ação dos controles do UPFC, particularmente, aprofundando a análise do seu desempenho mais eficiente diante de curtos monofásicos. Os resultados satisfatórios obtidos permitem considerar a viabilidade de limitação destas correntes como um subproduto interessante da atuação deste dispositivo FACTS.
In this thesis, the UPFC (Unified Power Flow Controller) various capabilities and effects for possible network applications, are studied. Although its structure is relatively more complex, when compared to the other FACTS controllers, its fast response and versatility can justify its application within the network. By utilising the orthogonal co-ordinates transform both the steady-state and transient mathematical models of the UPFC, are presented herein. Based on the results obtained and regarding the applications studied, it can be stated that the UPFC series voltage along with its phase angle play an important role for the fast and efficient control of the power flow. As a contribution of the present work, it has been proposed the connection of the shunt converter to the tertiary winding of autotransformers, demonstrating in this way the feasibility for controlling the power flow over such transforming assets. The proposed scheme, which regards two paralleled transformers, offers the UPFC a high operation availability increasing the system operative flexibility in actual implementations. By means of the proposed approach, the shunt coupling transformer, usually utilised in a classical UPFC configuration, presents a reduced size. Also, by utilising the UPFC control actions, it has been examined the possibility of short-circuit limitation over balanced and unbalanced circuits. Particularly, it has been analysed the UPFC most efficient performance towards line-to-ground faults. The satisfactory results obtained lead to consider the UPFC feasibility in limiting such currents; this, as an interesting by-product of this FACTS device action.

Sibiromycin is produced by actinomycetes of Streptosporangium sibiricum and structurally belongs to family of pyrrolo-1,4-benzodiazepines. Sibiromycin is characterized by antibacterial and especially antitumor activity but due to its proved cardiotoxicity it cannot be used. The following research of possible therapeutic sibiromycin utilization is concerned on new nontoxic derivatives produced by genetic manipulated strains of S. sibiricum. For this purpose a new routine chromatographic UPLC-UV method with analyte preconcentration was developed and partially validated. A fermentation broth was extracted by solid phase extraction (SPE) on OASIS MCX columns with the sorbent based on a cation-exchange. Eluted extract was evaporated, reconstituted in methanol and loaded onto UPLC BEH C18 column and analyzed under gradient mode with mobile phases of methanol (A) and trifluoroacetic acid (B). Detection limit of the method was determined as 40 ng/ml, the recovery was 74.75 % and its reproducibility expressed as RSD was 5.18 %. The method was applied to comparison of sibiromycin production by S. sibiricum on 13 different fermentation media. Será un espacio de coworking para el desarrollo y maduración de proyectos, donde los jóvenes recibirán la asesoría de expertos en los diferentes aspectos relacionados a su emprendimiento. Las ideas de negocio que ingresarán a “StartUPC” pueden ser de diferentes especialidades, por ejemplo estar relacionadas al campo de la ingeniería, emprendimientos en salud, agroalimentarios, comunicaciones, diseño, entre otros. Backgrounds: Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a common disease in clinical. When the bacterium starting from urethra and go through the urinary tract, and forming a high incidence of progress into urosepsis. Many animal models of UTI have been established but none of them mentions the urosepsis has been induced. During the first phase of this study, we developed a novel urosepsis animal model by clinical UPEC strains via UTI. Nowadays UTIs clinical treatment is usually treated with antibiotics, but antibiotic-resistant strains of UPEC have starting to emerge. So finding novel agents to treat antibiotic-resistant strains infections has become a priority. Bacteriophage could be a great potential substitution treatment for antibiotic-resistant strains infections. The second phase of this study was to isolate and characterize phage that might be used in prevention and treatment of UTI caused by UPEC Materials and Methods: To execute the first phase, first of all the clinical isolated UPEC GFP transformed strain was prepared to infect via urinary tract of Wistar-Kyoto rats. After injected GFP-UPEC 1×109 CFU in 1 ml LB through their urethra using catheter, rats central body temperatures were measured continuously and the WBC were counted at 0, 6, 12 and 24 hr as well, followed by sacrificed at 48hr. Organ samples include kidney, liver, lung and small intestine were removed immediately after sacrificed and were fixed 48hr in 10% buffered formaldehyde, stained with hematoxylin and eosin, and detected by fluorescence microscope to determine the GFP-UPEC location in organs. The second phase bacteriophage was been isolate from environment, we will do some tests, host range analysis, one-step growth curve, phage adsorption and electron microscopy, to characterize the bacteriophage. Results: After UPEC strain been injected to the bladder, rats central body temperature had risen up and WBC was elevated gradually and peaked on the 24hr after infection. In addition, biopsy results presents many GFP-UPEC were found in kidney, liver, lung, and small intestine, indicated the bacteria could translocate when urosepsis was happened. On host analysis 521 UPEC strains 142 strains were been infected. One-step growth curve of bacteriophage UPEC, burst size averaged 200 PFU per infected cell after 25 min. Adsorption of bacteriophage to UPEC, approximately 73% were adsorbed at 8 min post-infection. On TEM It revealed a non-contractile tail and an icosahedral head, a morphology characteristic of members of the family Siphoviridae. Conclusion: Sepsis can define when presence systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) caused by bacterial infection. In this study, after the injection there are two criteria which is accord to the standard of SIRS, first the average temperature is above 38°C, second the WBC is at high level >12×109/L (>12,000/mm³). Moreover, we observe bacterial translocation through biopsy at kidney, liver, lung, and small intestine using GFP-tagged. In summary, we demonstrate a novel urosepsis animal model in this study and shown that a bacteriophage able to lyse UPEC isolates.

Methods of recycling unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) window frame waste were investigated. The quality of untreated granular waste was compared to that of waste treated by a range of contaminant removal processes including melt filtration and dissolution. Processability of each recyclate was evaluated by using a highly instrumented single screw extruder that enabled melt viscosity and process variation to be monitored in real time. Product quality measurements such as mechanical properties and surface defects were made on extruded strip, and the nature of the stabilizers present was determined. The mechanical properties of recyclates were found to be comparable to or better than those of virgin material in all cases and conformed to industry standards for window profile. Contaminant removal stages significantly reduced the amount of large surface defects detected in extrudate. Processability was comparable to that of virgin compounds, but melt viscosity varied among different batches of recyclate, depending on the source and composition of the original PVC formulation.

Continuando con su sólido y sostenido compromiso con el desarrollo social del país, la Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) inició, por quinto año consecutivo, las inscripciones para el Premio Protagonistas del Cambio UPC 2015. Este concurso busca destacar la labor de 10 jóvenes a nivel nacional, que vienen trabajando proyectos con alto impacto social y que están generando una mejora sostenible en las comunidades donde operan. Gracias a sus 4 ediciones anuales anteriores, este importante premio cuenta hoy con 40 ganadores de más de 15 ciudades del país, quienes han sido capacitados por la UPC para potenciar sus iniciativas, formando parte de una red mundial de emprendedores sociales. Asimismo, han logrado beneficiar a más de 1 millón de personas, de manera directa e indirecta, a nivel nacional. Estos ganadores han generado un gran impacto en el país en áreas como Desarrollo Económico; en Negocios Inclusivos; en Salud, Nutrición y Calidad de Vida; en Educación para el Desarrollo; y en Medio Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible. “Creo que a todos los emprendedores sociales se nos presentan grandes retos para lograr nuestras metas. Es por ello que es tan importante tener espacios como el Premio Protagonistas de Cambio UPC que nos motiva e impulsa para seguir con nuestros proyectos. Siempre estaré agradecida con la Universidad por todos los aprendizajes y el gran impacto que tuvo este Premio en Crea+ y en mi crecimiento como líder. El Premio Protagonistas del Cambio UPC cuenta con el apoyo del diario El Comercio, la revista Somos, el Grupo RPP, Clínica Delgado del Grupo Auna y Coca Cola; instituciones comprometidas con el país y con aquellas acciones de responsabilidad social que trabajan a favor de mejorar la calidad de vida de todos los peruanos.

La Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), a través de su carrera de Diseño Profesional de Interiores, realizó la premiación del II Concurso de Diseño UPC – Decor Center. Este evento contó con la participación de 92 alumnos de 4to, 5to y 6to ciclo de la carrera de Diseño Profesional de Interiores de la UPC, quienes presentaron un total de 31 proyectos con la misión de diseñar el interior de una tienda de calzado de 360m2, ubicada en la esquina de la Av. El Polo con Av. El Derby, en el distrito de Santiago de Surco. Los alumnos que se hicieron merecedores del primer puesto fueron: Paola Olaechea Ibáñez, Mayra Sarmiento Martínez y Uri Solano Zevallos; quienes sobresalieron por su creatividad utilizando las últimas tendencias en acabados y decoración. Los ganadores del segundo puesto fueron los alumnos Maria Fernanda Jordan Boyasbeck, Katherine Larios Chumpitaz y Allison Rodríguez Silva.
