Testo completoThe study examines the relationship of these institutions with the University of Botswana within the affiliation system. The issues that were investigated were related to the affiliation system in general, and whether it was beneficial to both the University of Botswana and the affiliated institutions. It was found from the study that the relationship is a symbiotic one. Furthermore, the study looked into the articulation of the programmes of the affiliated institutions with those of the University of Botswana. The issue of the level at which diplomates from the Affiliated Institutions join a degree programme at the University of Botswana was also discussed. The current system is that after three years of doing a diploma at an affiliated institution, the diplomate will join a degree programme at the University of Botswana at year two with a diploma that was awarded by the University of Botswana. As a result the diplomate will spend three more years on the degree programme. Moreover, the issue of semesterising the affiliated institutions&rsquo
programmes, like those of the University of Botswana, was also looked into. Another issue considered was that of monitoring Quality Assurance in the affiliated institutions by the University of Botswana.

Testo completoService delivery is one of the most important aspects of the Higher Education sector not only when dealing with international students. It is imperative that higher education institutions should monitor and evaluate its administrative and academic employees. There is a need for a good performance system, which includes standards that define whether staff performances have merits or shortcomings. This will encourage staff to be proficient in their work environment. It is also important to equip staff with service delivery training. This research project examines staff and students’ experiences of internationalisation at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. The researcher identified problems that international students encountered at CPUT, subsequently made recommendations, which deal with how to improve CPUT services to international students. The researcher undertook a quantitative research approach by administering a closed-ended questionnaire, which was compiled by a registered statistician. The study found that most of the participants did not understand or were not aware of internationalisation at CPUT. A majority of the participants did not understand their role when it came to assisting international students. They perceived that whatever international students required had to be sought from the international office. They understood their role within CPUT in terms of meeting the university’s objectives, as being that, which is set out in the university’s Vision and Mission.

Testo completoThe increase of international competitiveness, the speed of change in competitive environments and the emergence of the knowledge economy, require significant changes in the speed of innovation in Brazilian companies. The great challenge for companies is to leave the traditional model of development of products and services to an open innovation model involving new management models and partnerships with institutions of Science and Technology (ICT´s). The universities, which until then were seen mainly as a source of knowledge and human resources, are now directing their skills for developing technology. This university-industry cooperation is a complex dynamic and is the result of a number of factors, one of them the training of corporate employees. This requires a greater commitment of the company with the education and development of these to acquire a sustainable competitive advantage. In this environment we have an important tool that are corporate universities, which emerged in Brazil in 1998 in order to promote continuing education for employees of companies seeking to increase competitiveness. So we made a descriptive qualitative research study with multiple cases method through in-depth interviews being studied three Brazilian corporate universities, Petrobras University (UP), the Algar University (UniAlgar), and Bematech University (UB). The results generated conclusions about (a) the link between corporate universities of Petrobras, Algar e Bematech, and the areas of R & D & I of their respective companies, (b) the main current and future challenges of corporate universities analyzed, (c) the stage of cooperation between corporate universities and ICT\'s, (d) the characteristics of corporate universities that influence R&D&I and university-industry cooperation, which eventually were basis for the propose of (e) a model for the Corporate University management of R & D & I to intensify the processes in cooperation University - Company. The main results point to an important link between the UC\'s and intensification of R&D&I processes on training and qualification of personnel who develop or may develop R&D&I, moreover, has, by its characteristic educator, an important participation in the process of university-industry cooperation. Thus the model can help organizations develop UC\'s to make a decisive role in achieving its strategic challenges.

Abstract Universities in Taiwan are searching proactively the upgrading measures so as to alleviate the pressure of higher education deregulation and shrinkage of educational resources. Previous western researches demonstrated that industry-university collaboration not only expedites industrial R&D and innovation but also enhances university’s competitiveness. We find from literature review that American university-industry collaboration emphasize more on the institutional operation in universities. Empirical evidences prove that well managed governmental funding induces private R&D investment and enhance R&D performance. Intermediary institutions are more employed to facilitate university-industry collaboration in Germany and the UK. Thus, this research is aimed at researching on the influences of university-industry collaboration based on its types, scales, and university types. Empirical results show there is positive correlation between a university’s ranking and its university-industry collaboration activities. Universities have better performance than their technological university and technological institute counterparts in both project numbers and scales. Synthesizing empirical results, we demonstrate positive correlation in university-industry collaboration and university competitiveness in Taiwan. Relevant suggestions are discussed in conclusion. With the globalization and development of technology, the world is becoming more and more competitive. It’s important for enterprises to obtain external knowledge and technology from university. The cooperation between Industry and University is one of the best ways. Concurrently, an efficient model is necessary to rapidly reach the Industry-University Negotiation , which including a systematic tool for analysis and record. To solve above problems, this research proposes the concept of Industry-University Cooperation Strategy Map to analyze and evaluate Industry-University Cooperation behaviors with the systematic analysis. Through screening the possible enterprises, and ranking the candidate, the times of Industry-University Negotiation then can be shorten to increase the efficiency of Industry-University Cooperation. To verify the methodology proposed for the Industry-University Cooperation Strategy Map, a case study was made with one university and twenty different scale enterprises. The ranking of negotiation candidates can be analyzed and determined efficiently. Also, the cooperation track between Industry and University can be successfully recorded. That is, this methodology can make industry and university win-win.

The evolution of the interaction between industry and university has followed the demand of industrial development. The economic development in Taiwan over the past 60 years, has witnessed different stages from agricultural economy, industrial economy to knowledge economy; therefore, the industrial management, school education and the cooperative model between industry and university have also varied along the economic development. In addition, the government in Taiwan has been actively fostering the industry university cooperation and with fruitful achievement. However, there is no such policy in the world that can perfectly plan in every detail. Every successful policy must reform itself with the evolution of time. In this paper, I observe the industry - university cooperation from another perspective and look for the possibilities of further improvement on the cooperation. The primary focus of this study is on the result analysis among several universities that have programs in the field of industry university cooperation. I have examined the cooperation cases between technological universities and the National Science Council of Executive Yuan in order to find out the strength and weakness in each case. In the mean time, I have surveyed the result of industry university cooperation programs in three universities: National Taiwan University of science and technology, National yunlin University of science and technology; Kun Shan University. As for those technological universities and colleges that are interested in establishing industry-university cooperation programs, I have offered some advice and proposed points for attention.
