Testo completoToday, the patrimony is not studied in school as a subject of its own. However, it has become a part of curricula, specific frameworks have been set up, educational services are provided. Thus, patrimony is now a central cultural element which facilitates interdisciplinary education, and knowledge acquisition and a wide diffusion of culture. However, its teaching varies. The main factor appears to be the teacher's personal interest in patrimony, but differences between regions also need to be taken into account : different heritages are passed on in the region Nord-Pas-de-Calais or in the region Centre and this regional differentiation does have a strong influence on the kinds of identity, memory, and citizenship that are passed on and that vary whether one lives in Centre or in Nord-Pas-de-Calais

Testo completoOur thesis focuses on the place of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in school-based AIDS prevention, using the example of Family Life Education Clubs (NFE). secondary and secondary schools in Senegal. We wanted to show that the introduction of ICTs in health promotion partly overcomes the limitations of the traditional prevention campaigns that are being promoted, and whose quintessence of information is difficult to reach the population. Thus, our intention is to reveal how actions led by the non-governmental organization (NGO), called the Population Education and Study Group (GEEP), under the aegis of the Ministry of National Education of Senegal, help raise awareness and empower young people with a knowledge gap in the field of sexuality. Thus we intend to respond to the scientific concern about how the use of ICTs by pupils can contribute to their empowerment in teaching. We conducted interviews with GEEP members and its partners, which are supplemented by information collected by questionnaire from college and high school students who are members of the EVF clubs. A comprehensive approach has allowed us to document the ICT practices of students and to understand how actors perceive the use of ICTs in sexual health promotion. Our research has highlighted several benefits of using ICTs, but also limitations related to access. We were able to show that the introduction of ICTs in AIDS prevention appears to be a pedagogical innovation for teachers, at the same time as it helps to broaden the learning audience, through the strong appeal that these ICTs have for young people. The click info ado system, a digital medium for information on the issues studied, has enabled collaborative work and networking between the Ministry of Education and the partners of the EVF clubs. These initiatives have improved the behaviour and risk attitudes of young people through their appropriation of messages on various topics related to sexuality such as early or unwanted pregnancies, clandestine abortions, infanticides, sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS, etc. They are largely supported by the autonomy acquired by students who connect to the platforms on their initiative with full responsibility, to open up more and more to the taboo subject of sexuality in Senegalese environments. ICTs in Teaching-learning aims to improve the skills to be acquired in various disciplines whose use can be considered as a support in learning strategies for the benefit of the school curriculum and even in learning citizenship. However, these successes do not conceal the limits of an educational strategy characterized by a lack of computer equipment, very limited maintenance and unstable access to the Internet connection. The future of AIDS prevention in juvenile settings then depends on a massive investment in ICTs, and a widespread use of them in Senegal

Testo completoWhen COVID-19 emerged as a global pandemic in March 2020, schools were among the first settings to be closed to curb the transmission of SARS-CoV-2. However, the choice of closing school for a relatively long time was quite controversial and largely debated, especially for the harmful effects on students’ well-being and learning development. Therefore, governments worldwide gradually reintroduced in-person activities in schools, implementing various control measures to manage positive cases. The approaches taken by different countries varied, with some adopting reactive strategies in response to confirmed cases, while others implemented more proactive measures as the pandemic progressed. Schools remained vulnerable environments, especially in the absence of vaccination for younger students and the emergence of more contagious variants such as Delta and Omicron. In this thesis, I estimated the transmissibility of SARS-CoV-2 within schools for different variants and evaluated a range of testing and screening strategies to provide safe options for keeping schools open while minimizing educational disruption. To achieve this aim, I developed an agent-based model to simulate SARS-CoV-2 spread through face-to-face interactions among students and teachers in a primary and secondary school in France under different epidemic contexts. I fitted the model to the student prevalence data gathered from pilot and experimental screening campaigns conducted in specific pandemic phases, from the emergence of the Alpha variant in 2021 to the Omicron variant in early 2022 in France. I thus estimated the effective reproductive number in both schools and the contribution of school-based transmission to the overall spread in children. I then assessed the effectiveness of different intervention protocols in limiting importation and onward transmission, reducing school absence, and optimizing testing resources through a cost-benefit analysis. The results contained in this dissertation shed light on the role of school contacts as a potential source of renewed transmission during the COVID-19 pandemic, showing that transmission in schools represented a considerable contribution. According to our results, regular screening with large enough adherence can reduce cases and absences even under high-incidence conditions, as experienced during the Omicron wave of early 2022. The higher effectiveness achieved by weekly screening compared to reactive strategies is also confirmed by our retrospective analysis of a real-world experiment in a selected number of French primary schools during the Delta and Omicron waves between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022. Although COVID-19 no longer represents a global emergency, it will continue to circulate with other seasonal respiratory viruses (i.e., influenza, Respiratory Syncytial Virus, etc.) in children during the winter. The modelling framework developed in this thesis is well-suited for studying the transmission of respiratory viruses in densely populated settings, such as schools, quantifying the extent, and evaluating the impact of potential mitigation measures in the future

Testo completoContemporary national and international law attempt to protect children and students alike from abuse. As a result, consumerism has transformed the child into "king" and the student into "client". Notions of obedience, honour, respect and peace although claimed, are no more recognised as compulsory. The State advocates a double approach, both protective and educational, to give meaning to the notions of authority and schooling. This duality is indeed necessary and has to result in the co-operation of institutions to be effective. Now, not only is this cohesion not evident but delinquency in the cadre of the school system is indeed present. Company reforms to establish equality in terms of training have not removed failure in schools. The study of exogenic and endogenous factors in delinquency reveals that education received is the source of this syndrome. Societal vulnerability (Walgrave, 1992), combined with threatened parental authority and the development of sexism within the family unit transmit this emphasis of "survival of the fittest" to the new generation. Essential values have lost their meaning. The "bad" is made commonplace and the "good" demeaned for students whose profile is "aggressive", "vulnerable" or "fragile and unstable". It is reinvesting meaning to parental authority as well as the mission of schools that adolescents will again be able to know "who they are", "why they are here" and "where they are going". The key to avoid entering into delinquency in the cadre of the school system is the valued triangle between parents, teachers and students
Barlet, Aline. "Le confort dans le milieu scolaire". Paris 10, 1994. http://www.theses.fr/1994PA100086.
Testo completoThis research aims to define comfort, a complicated matter which has never been fully studied till today. Comfort can be defined from various components, i. E. Social atmosphere and physical environment. For collegians, social atmosphere has a biggest importance. So, in order they feel well, social atmosphere has to be particularly satisfying. Moreover, social atmosphere has an impact on the way children feel their physical environment. So, if social atmosphere is good, physical environment is satisfying and reciprocal. By another way, characteristics of environment have an impact as regards physical comfort in the structure of a general definition of this concept. When physical environment is satisfying, physical comfort is unknown. On the opposite, if physical components are not satisfying, physical comfort becomes important for them. Nevertheless, children have some requests in matter of physical environment, concerning more particularly functional aspect of school buildings. Thus, they give us an homogeneous and durable definition of the notion of comfort
Coulibaly, Oumar. "Dermatophytoses en milieu scolaire au Mali". Thesis, Aix-Marseille, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014AIXM5084/document.
Testo completoTo determine the epidemiological characteristics of dermatophytoses in Malian schoolchildren, we conducted three cross-sectional surveys between December 2009 and February 2012 in three public primary schools located in three climatic zones. A randomly selected sample of 590 schoolchildren (mean age: 9.7 years, 286 males) participated in this study. Overall, three hundred and twelve participants were diagnosed to have dermatophytosis lesions, giving a 52.9 % prevalence of clinical dermatophytoses. Tinea capitis was the most common clinical presentation, with a 39.3% prevalence, whereas the prevalence other dermatophytoses was 13.6%. A high (59.5%) prevalence rate of confirmed cases of tinea capitis was observed in the Sudano-Guinean climatic zone. Male gender and living in this climatic zone were independent risks factors associated with tinea capitis. Mycological culture found T. soudanense (41.3%), M. audouinii (36.5%), T. violaceum (3.7%), T. mentagrophytes (2.1%), and the combination of T. soudanense with M. audouinii (14.8%) or T. mentagrophytes (1.6%). In addition, we found a high contamination rate (73.2%), with two anthropophilic dermatophytes: T. soudanense (53.3%) and M. audouinii (46.7%), of hairdressing tools in peri-urban area of Bamako. Regarding anti-dermatophyte therapy, we showed a significant in vitro activity of squalamine against clinical dermatophyte isolates, with MICs ranging from 4 to 16 mg/l. In a phase II, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, clinical trial, a topical treatment with squalamine ointment was well tolerated and exhibited a partial clinical activity in the treatment of tinea capitis

Testo completoThis thesis concern the integration of the technologies in poor's schools. Specifically this study took place in Harlem (New York) in a junior high school which is mainly Hispanic. The objective of this thesis is to understand the disparity of the technology in schools and how actors working within a school in Harlem tried ti reduce this disparity by learning (apprenticeship) this technology by the pupils. The management and the teachers of this school set up a project of establishement based on computing technologies in educational practices. Nevertheless, this objective was reached very late. Our main interrogation is to understand how the integration of a project centred on the technology at school can be made in discriminated environment. By trying to answer this question, we distinguish two elements of analysis in order to realize the social evaluation of the technologies in schools. The firs one allows us to seize the local setting-up of the technologies. The second reports the influence of the new regulations of the educational system on setting-up because we cannot examin the impacts of a technology without studying how it is implanted in the school. Furthermore, this setting-up of the technologies comes true in a school in transformation. Finally, to report this setting-up in a discriminated environment we also lean on the effective schools. This one allows to understand better how the immediate school environment can contribute. We cannot generalize our conclusion to all schools in discriminated environment having the technology, but the results of this thesis do not confirm our hypotheses of the beginning. Indeed, we thought that the technology implanted in a school could improve the results of the students when there is a good appropriation. Our research showed that the best results of the pupils are not owed to the integration of the technologies in the school, but rather to the elements set up around this project, that we find in the course of the effective schools such as a direction (management) with strong influence, followed by frequent evaluations, security and order in the school, and valuation of the school by the parents

Testo completoAmong the children who have failed at school, lots of them are immigrants. As a school psychologist, my observations led me to the hypothesis that the cultural shock, because of the immigration, could give rise for the children to a disorganized traumatism leading to various pathologies. Then the child is brought to built himself in his new culture with more or less happiness. This hypothesis is proved by the detailed study of four cases. A six-year old child from the antilles, nevrotic, refusing to leran to read in relation to the maternal thaumaturgy ; an egyptian child, six years old, suffering from castration anguish, a thrity-year old french woman whose son had aftermath from a cerebral traumatism, showing suicidal tendencies after a succession of viols ; an african chil struck down by mutism becazuse of the difference of his culture. The study of these cases takes into account the cultural importance of the traumatism. The ethnopsychiatric approach of the psychological consultation as it was conceived by g. Devereux and t. Nathan was proved to be efficient in the recovery of these cases. This methodology brings precision in the psychological treatment of these children at risk and in the same way avoiding them the way of the inadapted childhood
Monnin, Éric. "L'olympisme : pratiques et représentations en milieu scolaire". Besançon, 2007. http://www.theses.fr/2007BESA1018.
Testo completoQuestions inevitably arise from the growth of the olympic phenomenon along with the general fervour it creates around the globe. To answer them one should look back to the times of ancient Greece when the Olympic Games appeared; thus, one gets a better understanding of what Pierre de Coubertin had in mind when he revived them in 1896. He coined the neologism “olympism” and wished to promote gatherings of peace-minded people from all over the world. But the nature of modern olympism is a complex one, partaking of myth, utopia and ideology. Each of these aspects should be investigated if one wants to grasp how they are perceived in today’s society. Few studies have been made on the theme of olympism in the educational milieu, which offers much scope for research work. Conducting an investigation has proved to be an adequate tool for understanding the practices and perceptions related to olympism among the pupils and physical education teachers in secondary schools. To that end, a survey has been carried out through questionnaires; 273 answers from pupils and 82 from teachers have been collected in the local education authority of Besançon. Processing these answers has made it possible to gauge the gap between the practices and perceptions of the two target groups. Analysing that survey is a real opportunity to reflect on the olympic system and to put forth explanatory hypotheses on the perception of that phenomenon in the educational milieu

Testo completoThe ambition of the research is to raise the question of Criminal Law's enforcement in one of key-sectors of our society : the educational sector. Starting with an inventory of the acts of delinquency in schools, it tries to explain and describe two chronological situations : the first one seems to be typical of a certain inefficiency of Criminal Law in this sector, due to difficulties raised as far as qualification and proceedings are concerned. The second is marked by an opposite restoring to favour of Criminal Law in schools, carried out on the one hand by implementing the existing Law and on the other hand by adjusting it to the specificity of school delinquency. The measurement of its consequences permit to expect that the thesis will have some value of assessment concerning the definition in the years to come of a policy of prevention and treatment of school delinquency

Testo completoThis thesis aims to the teaching of chess in school, peri-school and out-of-school fields. The first part presents the relations between the game and education under their pedagogical, psychological, psychoanalytical, sociological and philosophical aspects. A historical survey is given which ends in the twentieth century with a survey of writers who applied in the psychoanalytical approach to chess. This documentary research finishes with a comparative study of different chess teaching experiences in a range of about thirty countries. The second part called "action-research on chess pedagogical practics", introduces the whole problematic and methodology of achieved experiences. The evaluation of those experiences was mostly made through forms sent to pupils, parents, teachers, group interviews with the pupils and individual interviews with administrative staff. This analysis is settled according to institutionnal, psychological and pedagogical plans. In spite of academic resistances, mostly in the school field, this experience has been positively judged. It seems necessary to develop a specific formation for the teachers and educators who will deal with chess teaching. (560 references bibliog. )

Testo completoFrom spontaneous revelation, to revealing of the body, from immediate to belated revelations, the child's path to revelation of sexual violence, is a path of suffering. Thousands of children go to school everyday and among them are abused children, victims of more or less aggravated sexual violence. There are children who have been abused within the family environment or even within their own school. As school is a space of interactions between adults and children, it is often a privileged sphere words may be spoken, where the child, victim of abuse, may try to reveal his suffering. Revelations of sexual violence in school enter a space which is neither a place of criminal investigation nor a medico-legal institution , nor a therapeutic setting. Such revelations entail a contamination of suffering upon the adult to whom the child has confided, upon the educational institution, in which the complexity of psychical instinctive and fantasy lif of concerned individuals comes into play. The revelation brings to light unconscious positions of the persons it confronts, as well as their instinctive choices, their unresolved œdipal conflicts, and triggers subjective positions which the person may not even be aware. Such revelations bring to light the fragility as well as the weak points in the school institution itself. Our research examines the consequences of such revelations on an interpsychical as well as intersubjective level. We base our analysis on the notion of the traumatic tryptich, that is to say, the consequences for the child victim, for the adult confidante, and for the school institution. Our aim is to understand what can help the revelation process to become a positive event which can give the child the opportunity of living with the trauma of abuse and not merely surviving

Chad is one of a number of african countries suffering from illitercy, a low rate of school attendance, and the poor quality of education available in the schools. In this country, entering puipils have little or no knowledge of the language or languages used in teaching; moreover, the practice of this or her language is limited to oral expression. The teacher also generally speacks a language learned at a young age which is different both from the language of teaching and the language of his or her pupils. A quantitative and qualitative insufficiency of teaching materials and teachers, a low national income and the mediocre living conditions, the sheer size of the territory and the underdeveloped system of roads, the linguistic diversity and the cultural incompatibilities are also at the root of the deficiencies, delays and withdrawals which occur during the school cycle. We have gone to the bery ("zaghawa") community to observe, describe and analyse the learning of french an arab by children whose mother tongue is berya. . .

Testo completoThis study aims at analysing the representations and ordinary use of school librarians and students in the documentation space known as “Centre de Documentation et d’Information” (CDI) in French secondary schools. The school library is understood as a documentary space both in a physical and digital way. Its use is academic, information-related, but also social. Use and representations are studied spatially. In this dimension, the actors are seen as individuals with a spatial ability of their own, who experience the documentation space : indeed, beyond sheer visual aspects, we look into the dynamics of the space as it is said to be experienced. The methodology used is qualitative. Semi-directed interviews are carried out with school librarians and students in five middle schools. Participative photo elicitation interviews allow us to show the different visions of the documentary space that the various actors may have. The analysis of the results shows different kinds of documentation landscapes, created by both professionals and students in their everyday use

Testo completoAdaptation classes" in nursery schools and primary schools in France were created in 1970. They areaimed at helping children with learning difficulties to enter the process of instruction and to adapt themselves to ordinary teaching methods (prevention or treatment of scolastic difficulties). How do the teachers of "adaptation classes" search for means to achieve these aims ? Semi-directif interviews have been done with fifty teachers of "adaptation classes" working in a section of the Paris suburbs during the section year 19851986. These teachers mainly practice active pedagogical methods favoring a natural process of instruction (the pupils building knowledge themselves) to satisfy the children's basic needs. But there is a gap between these pedagogical methods and those practiced in most ordinary classes, which is an obstacle for the integration or reintegration of pupils of "adaptation classes" to the ordinary system. To reduce this gap, and also to decrease any feeling of exclusion or alienation that their pupils might feel, most teachers of "adaptation classes" establish professional contacts with their colleagues teaching ordinary classes, thus contributing to a general transformation of methods and to a better adaptation of the school system for all children

Testo completoInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT) are more and more daily accessible and used, especially by young people. These new types of social interactions offer various opportunities (Valkenburg, 2010). At the same time, they bring also with them new forms of violence. Research on cyberviolence has developed considerably worldwide since the beginning of the millennium. However, in France, except the work of Blaya (2010, 2013), research in this area remains rare and few data about the occurrence, nature and mechanisms of this phenomenon are available. Consequently, the objective of this thesis is to assess the extent of cyberviolence amongst adolescents in France, as well as to analyze the characteristics of this new form of violence, and finally to explore its processes related to school context, especially school climate. To do so, we carried out a victimization and self-reported violence survey on 3586 secondary schools students in several school authorities/boards. The collected data allow us to highlight the percentage of adolescents who reported to have been victims and/or authors of each types of violence during the school year. A special care was paid to the measurement of cyberbullying, which we defined as a repeated and/or cumulated violence. Finally, statistical analysis were made in order to test the effects of sociodemographic variables, digital practices and cyberviolence experiences on victimization and perpetration. It mainly appears that cyberviolence is a real problem although the most severe forms of cyberbullying remains low. To complete the quantitative survey and “open the black box”, interviews were conducted with 34 middle school students. Our aim was to deepen our understanding of the experience of the actors, by questioning them on their logics of action and the meaning they confer. Among other things, our analysis enabled us to observe a link between the social relations in the school context and in the digital context. These results emphasize the need to consider school environment, notably school climate, to fight against cyberviolence

Testo completoThe bullying among pupils can be characterized by conflicts, hazing, humiliation, teasing, aggressive behaviour and exclusion of group of peers. Unfortunately, it is often neglected and remains a hidden problem despite the frequency and the suffering it may cause in most of its victims. Through the studies of our sample, which included students at the onset of adolescence and the statistics of bullying in three countries, France, England and South Korea, we tried to explore specific aspects between the three countries in relation to bullying. We hoped that this would help us to understand possible common characteristics of school bullying, the interaction between the determinant factors, the manifestation of bullying and finally to obtain the strategies required to fight this social dilemma, which are adaptable to each country and their individualistic needs. The education politics and cultural background in schools, all different from one another, cause the different aspects of bullying to appear in forms, places and on pupils' opinions on the victim and the bully. The different phenomenon and the representation of bullying among peers require different methods in preventing and handling the problem

Testo completoABMA (increased well-being for better learning) is a health promoting school program based on international literature on the concept of health promoting schools. The planning and implementation of the health promotion program ABMA was constructed in the Lyon school board in 19 pilot schools. The program goal is to guide a school to become a health promoting school. The project is within the framework of interventional research. Our study consisted of identifying the enabling and inhibiting factors in the implementation of a health promotion program in the French education system. Evaluation methods are mixed: quantitative, but primarily qualitative. Independent variables correspond to individual characteristics of the school, to academic performance and to school climate. The dependent variables correspond to the level and quality of implementation of the program as well as the support process in the school. The results highlight the importance of the support process and show that the implication of the school board is essential for the long-term success. For schools, the main facilitating factors for global health promotion development are the involvement of the principal, regular communication to the entire educational community, a good initial evaluation of current conditions and individualized support

Testo completoThis doctoral thesis proposes a rational and scientific approach to the phenomenon of paroxysmal violence in schools. Through the prism of urban “cindynics” (risk science), we first highlight the possible motivations of violent reaction against the school system and its actors. Are they sufficient to explain the use of extreme violence ? We secondly offer some consolidated elements to answer, based on 156 events spread over a century across 5 continents and 25 countries. After extensive focus on spaces of commission, a typology of the perpetrators is precisely established. The analysis then focuses on socio-cultural determinants of these criminal actions in a single, cyclical and societal combination. This detailed review then allows the modeling of criminal processes at work, gender and age of the perpetrators. Criticality levels of identified risk factors are estimated to bring out the “minimum cuts” of a causal tree (pre-accident phase). It aggregates to a tree consequences (post-accident phase) around the “central event dreaded” that is the act of school shooting. The interest of the “bow tie” thus formed extends beyond the stage of diagnosis. This discursive model assumes ultimately declination barriers of risk mitigation that prefigure, in a transactional approach to security, a comprehensive and multidisciplinary strategy of anticipation to mass murders in French and European schools or universities
