One of the articles in this issue stems from award-winning research that was presented at the 29th Annual Richard Frucht Memorial Lecture Series and Student Conference (2023). Developing countries are increasingly decentralizing forest governance by granting indigenous groups and other local communities formal legal title to land. However, the effects of titling on forest cover are unclear. Rigorous analyses of titling campaigns are rare, and related theoretical and empirical research suggests that they could either stem or spur forest damage. We analyze such a campaign in the Peruvian Amazon, where more than 1,200 indigenous communities comprising some 11 million ha have been titled since the mid-1970s. We use community-level longitudinal data derived from high-resolution satellite images to estimate the effect of titling between 2002 and 2005 on contemporaneous forest clearing and disturbance. Our results indicate that titling reduces clearing by more than three-quarters and forest disturbance by roughly two-thirds in a 2-y window spanning the year title is awarded and the year afterward. These results suggest that awarding formal land titles to local communities can advance forest conservation.

The article deals with the optimization of the cataloging process of dissertation abstracts at the State Scientific and Technical Library (SSTL) of Ukraine. Automation of entering bibliographic descriptions of dissertation abstracts into the database is based on the fact that according to the current rules a bibliographic description of the publication is created from the title page. However, abstracts do not have a cover sheet, so the main information is taken from the cover. According to the rules for composing a thesis abstract, the title page is designed so that each paragraph contains certain bibliographic information. The process of automating the creation of a bibliographic description of abstracts, in fact, involves the programmatic placement of indices of division in the text from the covers of these documents, which facilitates their further import into the relevant database. The analyzed automated abstract introduction process was developed with the help of VBA software for Word and tested in the Scientific Research and Development Fund department of the SSTL.

As Korea grew after liberation, social and cultural changes occurred and were reflected in the content and cover design of coming-of-age novels. In a situation where Korea's bildungsroman is also changing and developing, we found that research on cover design for this was very insufficient, and attempted to study the characteristic semantic system of the cover design of Korean bildungsroman by era. The research method targets the cover designs of 166 coming-of-age novels published from the 1970s to 2023. First, the meaning of keywords and titles by era of the content of the coming-of-age novels is analyzed, and second, the meaning of the cover design of the coming-of-age novels is visualized. Analyze it by dividing it into images, colors, and typography, and check the flow and patterns of change by era. Third, we analyzed the relationship between keywords and visual elements by era in the content of coming-of-age novels. Looking at the analysis results, firstly, the composition of the parts of speech in the title by era appeared to be diversifying and becoming more complex, from 1 type of ‘noun’ structure in the 1970s to 17 types of parts of speech in the 2020s. Second, in terms of images, the oil painting technique of illustrations was used the most, and as the 2000s progressed, the frequency of using the entire cover as an image increased, and the use of stripes also gradually expanded. In terms of color, in the 1970s the hue distribution was medium brightness and low saturation, in the 1990s it was a hue distribution of wide brightness and saturation with warm colors and neutral colors, and in the 2020s the hue distribution was again centered on neutral colors and cool colors with medium brightness and low saturation. appear. In terms of typography, horizontal writing, center alignment, single line, serif, asymmetrical layout, and color changes were used to emphasize headings. Third, the concreteness and abstractness of titles and images were analyzed. In the 1970s, abstract expressions were very high, and concrete expressions were used more in the 2000s. In terms of visualization of the title, the average matching rate was 63%, and it was analyzed that the specificity of the title affects image visualization. In general, keyword visualization was relatively high in the 1970s, but the matching rate gradually decreased thereafter.

The research dealt with two prominent components of the novel: the title and the cover. This is because these are the gateways for the reader to enter the world of surprise and interpretation. They are also the trigger that arouses the reader’s passion towards the text and interact with it. The study dealt with these components , their definition, importance and status in guiding the reader, and their role in highlighting the text in an artistic and aesthetic way that helps the recipient to decipher semantics, and to show its artistic and creative dimensions. The analysis began with the title because of its great importance in producing the narrative’s discourse. It is the cornerstone on which the author builds his idea, and carries the most intense and suggestive semantics. The title also constitutes the bridge that connects both the dispatcher and the receiver together. The cover is also an essential component, not only because it contains the text inside, but because it carries symbols that suggest specific indications that the writer wants to allude to . The cover had on it the title, the author's name and biography , critical opinions, and a quote from the novel epitomizing the novel’s tragedy. It also contained many plastic paintings such as a hand, splashed blood, palm trees, buildings, etc., as well as colors and drawings extracted from the text. The research also analyzed the connotations carried by the components of the cover as a whole, and it showed the interrelationship among its different components. It also revealed the core idea of the novel, which indicates consistency, harmony and unity of all the elements that make up the text.

The article is devoted to the analysis of sources containing information on the land heraldry of the Tsardom of Moscovy, which reflected territorial title of the Russian rulers. The historiography usually mentions 5–6 artefacts and pictorial sources with images of such coats of arms. In fact, the complex of these sources can be significantly expanded. The author has managed to collect information about ten artefacts, two visual and four written sources, which allow to follow the evolution of the title heraldry in pre-Petrine Russia starting from the 16th century. Furthermore, two seals descriptions containing information about land coats of arms remain unpublished. The analysis of sources leads to the following conclusions. The beginning of the Russian title heraldry dates back to the reign of Ivan the Terrible. It was probably connected with refining of his territorial titles after the Livonian War. The Great Seal of Ivan the Terrible (late 1570s) has a set of title seals with images, most of them quite simple. These emblems reflect mainly natural or economic features of specific lands. Some emblems are purely symbolic, some borrow directly from Western European heraldry. These title emblems (called seals prior to the 18th century) continued up to the Romanovs’ reign. For instance, the front of the seal of Ivan the Terrible became a source for title emblems reproduced on the armor of Pseudo-Demetrius I, which was made by Western European masters. They probably took their cue from an imprint of the front side of the seal sent with the order. Emblems from the reverse side of the seal were not reproduced on the armor. Under Mikhail Fyodorovich (apparently, in late 1620s) the complex of title emblems underwent its first significant transformation. Some emblems continued to the end of the 16th century, some were formed anew. The new system of title emblems translated into a description of seals made after the Moscow fire of 1626. This document is also yet unpublished. The reform of the title seals may have been associated with making of a new complex of royal regalia in late 1620s. The new seals appeared in the composition of the cover for tsar’s saadak (quiver), which, apparently, was made at the same time.

The irony pushes us to inquire about what is in the text of contradiction, irony, suspense, and other acts of paradox, as well as a departure from what is logical, or familiar, that attracts the attention of the addressee, and this is what drives us to introspect the text and interrogate it in order to get to know the intended product of the text or its real or metaphorical intent. On the other hand, the irony is more in the literary text than in the scientific texts. Therefore, critics add the word literature to it in their definition.
As it is represented by the paradox, we will seek to study the paradox of the title and the problematic that it may pose as the beginning of the text, and it expresses to us what is in the title of semantic overlap and existential contradiction or implicit (non-declared) with the main text or even a reference to it. From this point of view, we note that Najm Wali, as one of the most prominent Iraqi novelists who seeks to present a different and heterogeneous literature and benefits from the feature _Grebe_, especially the paradox, used titles for his novels that bear the characteristic of his paradoxes in most of them. In this study, we aim to analyze what is in these titles of irony in all its forms, based on the descriptive analytical approach. Through the following two axes:
A: The theoretical dimension: This is an affirmation of what is related to the literary paradox, the paradox of the title, and the star of Wali in terms of definition, definition, and analysis.
B: The logical dimension: This is concerned with applying literary irony to Najm Wali’s titles, such as: “The Hill of Lahm,” “The War in the Tarab Neighborhood,” “The Picture of Joseph,” and “A Place Called Kumait.”
One of the results obtained by this study is that Najm Wali used the technique of title paradox, as a desire to draw the attention of the recipient to what is going on in his Iraqi society from the bitter reality, and on the other hand, he tried to reconcile the title and the cover, and to employ irony in all its forms with the main text for the same goal as well.

Artificial Neural Networks are known to provide a good model for classification. The goal of this research is to classify books in Bahasa (Bahasa Indonesia) using its cover. The data is in the form of scanned images, each with the size of 300 cm height, 130 cm width, and 96 dpi image resolution the research conducted features extraction using image processing method, MSER (Maximally Stable Externally Regions) to identify the area of book title, and Tesseract Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to detect the title. Next, features extracted from MSER and OCR are converted into a numerical matrix as the input to the Backpropagation Artificial Neural Network. The accuracy obtained using one hidden layer and 15 neurons is 63.31%. Meanwhile, the evaluation using 2 hidden layers with a combination of 15 and 35 neurons resulted in accuracy of 79.89%. The ability of the model to classify the book was affected by the image quality, variation, and number of training data.

<sec><title>SETTING</title>Asbestos exposure can cause mesothelioma, a form of cancer which should be recorded by cancer registries. However, such registries currently cover only a small fraction (16%) of the population in India. Because India still uses asbestos, it is important to understand its health impact, especially the number of mesothelioma cases.</sec><sec><title>OBJECTIVE</title>To assess the number of mesothelioma cases in India and compare these to the number reported to the National Cancer Registry.</sec><sec><title>DESIGN</title>We used the Right to Information Act 2005 to gather data for 83 hospitals across India from 2012 to 2022-2023.</sec><sec><title>RESULTS</title>From a total of 83 hospitals, there were 2,213 cases of mesothelioma from 2012 onwards. During the 2012–2016 period, the number of reported cases in the Cancer Registry was 54, whereas 1,126 cases were reported by these hospitals for this period. Only 21 (25%) of the hospitals assessed in this study were part of the population-based national cancer registry programme. Overall, cases of mesothelioma occur far more frequently than are reported in cancer registries.</sec><sec><title>CONCLUSION</title>National record-keeping is inadequate and the system needs to be expanded and improved across all of India. This will provide more effective reporting and help to highlight the risk of exposure to asbestos.</sec>

In this study, the researchers focus on the meaning of the DECADE album cover from They Fell From The Sky music band. This was chosen because the artwork used is quite attractive and has This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive method. The analysis was carried out using the semiotic theory of Roland Barthes and the pragmatics theory of John Searle. This study aimed to determine the meaning contained in the cover design of the DECADE album. This research shows that between context signs and visible signs, there is a relationship where the two synergize in the title. The band, namely "They Fell From The Sky," by using a skull image that uses an astronaut costume in an iconic, denotative, and connotative symbolizing "death," a form of death because "falling from the sky" so the message to be conveyed is to publish the Decade album which for ten years or "a decade" like struggling until astronauts in outer space experience death as if falling from the sky. The Astronaut's skull artwork entitled in Indonesian "Binasa" ("Perish" in English) which is the basis of the DECADE album cover design, also strengthens this interpretation. In the era of traffic, controlling traffic is equivalent to mastering influence and economic benefits. At the video level, under the premise of the same video content, it is very important to study what kind of cover and title can be more attractive to people. Unlike most previous studies that focused on YouTube videos, our data came from Bilibilis videos. This paper tried to use two neural network models, ViT and Bert, combined with GPipe and backend fusion multimodal data fusion methods, to predict the possible click-through rate and popularity of a specific video based on its existing video cover and title. In the process, we switched to different visual and language models to complete the same training task, with the goal of comparing the impact of different models on the results. By adjusting the weight of two models, we finally achieved a good result of up to 62% accuracy.

As Title IX approaches its 50th anniversary, the state of its application to athletic departments within federally funded schools at the secondary and postsecondary levels evokes the expression “the more things change, the more things stay the same.” Title IX has been credited with successfully addressing sexual stereotypes that generally limited opportunities and created barriers for students to realize their full potential as athletes, citizens, parents, scholars, and workers (Buzuvis, 2012). As much as the educational landscape has changed as a result of Title IX, there remains a concern that schools do not have the mechanisms in place to ensure compliance five decades after the law was passed. The purpose of this study was to examine what college athletes know about Title IX and how they come to know it through a survey instrument comprised of five open-ended questions. Consistent with previous studies of coaches, athletics administrators, educators, and athletes, nearly 50% of the college athletes participating in this study did not know what Title IX was. For the remaining 50%, their perceptions of Title IX reveal large gaps in foundational understandings of what Title IX requires and how it works. The words of the respondents offer a window into their understandings and relationship with Title IX which cover a full spectrum from “it opens up the door for everyone” and “gives female athletes the support they need to succeed” to it results in an “illogical” way to achieve fairness.

Franklin Covey Co., the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit held that the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII of Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA), and New York state law do not proscribe an employer's self-insured employee health plan from excluding surgical impregnation procedures from its coverage. Although the court found that infertility qualifies as a disability under the ADA, it restricted required coverage of certain infedty treatments.Title I of the ADA prohibits an employer from discriminating on the basis of disability “in regard to … fringe benefits available by virtue of employment, whether or not administered by the covered entity.” The ADA defines “disability” as “a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.” In Bragdon v. Abbott, the U.S. Supreme Court found that reproduction was a major life activity under the ADA.

Modern seismic data have become an essential toolkit for studying carbonate platforms and reservoirs in impressive detail. Whilst driven primarily by oil and gas exploration and development, data sharing and collaboration are delivering fundamental geological knowledge on carbonate systems, revealing platform geomorphologies and how their evolution on millennial time scales, as well as kilometric length scales, was forced by long-term eustatic, oceanographic or tectonic factors. Quantitative interrogation of modern seismic attributes in carbonate reservoirs permits flow units and barriers arising from depositional and diagenetic processes to be imaged and extrapolated between wells.This volume reviews the variety of carbonate platform and reservoir characteristics that can be interpreted from modern seismic data, illustrating the benefits of creative interaction between geophysical and carbonate geological experts at all stages of a seismic campaign. Papers cover carbonate exploration, including the uniquely challenging South Atlantic pre-salt reservoirs, seismic modelling of carbonates, and seismic indicators of fluid flow and diagenesis.

So here it is: a physico-chemical approach to sociology.If Harvard publishes treatises like Wilson's Sociobiology, how can we rejectHamdard's New Dimensions as being out of hand? After all , Wilson is azoologist with hardly a flair for sociology in his dossier.The author of this book, Mirza Arshad Ali Beg, is a trained andexperienced chemist with graduate degrees from Karachi (MSc.) and BritishColumbia (Ph.D.). He began in 1941 as a senior research officer at the PakistanCouncil of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) and in 1985 becamethe director of its facilities in Karachi. Since then, he has been promotedto the secretarial rank in this organization. Dr. Beg has also held severalimportant posts in national and international organizations.Apparently, Dr. Beg is a qualified, experienced researcher in chemistry.As such, it is to his credit that in this book he has ventured far afield fromhis area of specialization. This book is a testimony to the fact that sociologyis not, has not been, and must not be the exclusive domain of sociologists.All throughout its relatively brief history, sociology has benefitted from thecontributions of historians, philosophers, psychologists, even engineers. Salah satu grub musik yang menggunakan strategi ter-sebut pada cover album mereka adalah Silampukau. Band ini merupakan salah satu band folk asal Surabaya yang memperoleh perhatian dari penikmat musik Tanah Air melalui album mereka berjudul Dosa, Kota, dan Kenangan yang dirilis pada tahun 2015. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis visual dari cover album Silampukau Dosa, Kota, dan Kenangan. Peneliti mengguna-kan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, serta dokumentasi yang berkaitan dengan gagasan perancangan dan nilai estetika cover album. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain cover album menggunakan prinsip desain unity, rhythm, dominasi, balance, proporsi, simplicity dan clarity. Pembuatan ilustrasi menggunakan teknik cukil, sedang-kan pada elemen tipografinya menggunakan font custom dengan jenis dekoratif untuk logo band dan menggunakan font Kessel 105 untuk judul album. Basically, the function of the album cover is to protect the LPs, cassette tapes, or compact discs that are in it. However, over time, album covers began to be designed in such a way as to attract public attention as well as to become a visual representation of the musical works contained therein. One of the music groups that uses this strategy on their album cover is Silampukau. This band is one of the folk bands from Surabaya that has received the attention of Indonesian music lovers through their album entitled Dosa, Kota, dan Kenangan which was released in 2015. This study aims to analyze the visuals of the cover of Silampukau's album Dosa, Kota, dan Kenangan. Researchers used a quali-tative descriptive method. The data were obtained through interviews, observations, and document-tation related to the design idea and the aesthetic value of the album cover. The results of the study show that the album cover design uses the design principles of unity, rhythm, dominance, balance, proportion, simplicity and clarity. The illustration uses the cukil technique, while the typographical elements use a custom font with a decorative type for the band logo and use the Kessel 105 font for the album title. (Jack) Gallagher (one half of Robinson and Gallagher, the finest double act in British imperial historiography). The complete sentence from which the title is derived reads as follows: ‘But for us the road to Asia lies through the swing doors of the Grafton Hotel in Dublin, one of the cover headquarters of the revolutionary Irish Government’. From time to time, alas, even Gallagher (like Homer) nodded, and it has to be said that his typically arresting image of the route to Asia is somewhat occluded by the fact that there is not, and never has been, a Grafton Hotel in Dublin. (He was evidently thinking of the Gresham Hotel.) Yet the underlying point of his image is sound.

Two handwritten notes found in a small volume published in 1564 – an older one relating to the first owner bearing the name of Ulisse Aldrovandi placed at the top of the title page, and the second one bearing the location on the tail of the book – have aroused great interest in the possibility that it could belong to the famous naturalist’s library in Bologna. A third note, placed on the doublure of front cover, refers to an unknown later owner whose identity will be sought out, based on the little information reported. Starting from these handwritten notes, the journey of the book is reconstructed in space – from Aldrovandi’s library in Bologna to the Historical Library of the Orazio Comes Botanical Museum kept at the MUSA Museum Centre in Portici – and in time – from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century.

This paper describes a new system for extracting and classifying bibliography regions from the color image of a book cover. The system consists of three major components: preprocessing, color space segmentation and text region extraction and classification. Preprocessing extracts the edge lines of the book and geometrically corrects and segments the input image, into the parts of front cover, spine and back cover. The same as all color image processing researches, the segmentation of color space is an essential and important step here. Instead of RGB color space, HSI color space is used in this system. The color space is segmented into achromatic and chromatic regions first; and both the achromatic and chromatic regions are segmented further to complete the color space segmentation. Then text region extraction and classification follow. After detecting fundamental features (stroke width and local label width) text regions are determined. By comparing the text regions on front cover with those on spine, all extracted text regions are classified into suitable bibliography categories: author, title, publisher and other information, without applying OCR.

With a view to settling native title claims by negotiation rather than litigation, it is common practice in Australia for the Indigenous applicant groups' case to be outlined in writing in a rather brief and concentrated way. This may be called a ‘negotiation report’, or a ‘connection report’, for example, depending on the region. Anthropologists may be asked to contribute to this report, or even to write the whole of it. In it they usually provide a skeletal outline of the nature of the applicants' relationships to the area subject to a determination of native title. This would normally cover the nature of their rights and interests in the country and how those rights and interests are acquired, a history of the applicant group's connection to the relevant country from the establishment of British sovereignty to the present, and exemplars of the kind of evidentiary material that would be expanded if called upon during any later adversarial process, should the latter occur. In this brief paper I offer some suggestions that might be considered by anthropologists who have been engaged to write such reports.

Land as school infrastructure is often neglected in the certification process. This research emphasized that school land certification is essential and whether it automatically includes authority over everything on it, what land rights can be given to the school, and how it is carried out. This research used the normative juridical research method by leaning on empirical research. Secondary data taken from library research dominates this research. The data was obtained through document studies or library studies. Furthermore, some primary data was obtained through observations. Land certificates is a piece of solid evidence to ascertain the rights of the education provider as the subject of rights so that they can defend their rights from claims by other parties. However, it does not automatically cover all authority over what is on the land because it is a part of the horizontal separation principle. School land can have the status of State land and can also have four types of land rights owned by the education providers, namely Freehold Title, Building Right Title, Cultivation Right Title, and Mortmain (Waqf) right. The rights can be obtained through sporadic registration or complete systematic land registration. The availability and readiness of facilities and infrastructure are essential in 21st-century education and learning because they will significantly affect learning.

The title of this editorial is from the work of the great philosopher Alice Cooper who penned a song of the same name in 1972 (look it up, kids – it was on vinyl!). While for many it is spring that represents new life blooming, for those involved in higher education, spring simply mocks us. As the trees and flowers blossom, birds return from their migration to warmer latitudes, faculty and students are locked in an epic struggle to somehow cover all the material promised in one of the great works of fiction, the syllabus. The faculty hope that some amount of what they have helped students discover sticks through the summer and beyond. Those who teach introductory courses like yours truly live in dread of the future comment from a colleague that the students you taught the semester before say that they have “never heard of” some concept into which you poured your heart and soul to get across its importance, even beauty. Students are trying to figure out if it is possible to learn an entire semester of geology in the weekend before the final (spoiler alert—it is not).

This research aims to determine the meaning behind the cover of the 11-17 November 2019 issue of Tempo magazine with the main title "Anies' Budget Disgrace", which includes a caricature of one of the national figures, so as not to cause wild opinions and noise in the community. This research uses a qualitative approach method that produces descriptive data, with primary data obtained from the documentation of Tempo magazine and secondary data obtained from relevant literature and journals. The collected data is then analysed using Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotics with its trichotomous concept. The results of this study show that Tempo magazine has fulfilled its function of social control and is directly involved in monitoring issues of public interest. The caricature of Anies, depicted by Tempo as trapped in DKI Jakarta's budgeting system, is depicted as falling into a can of glue. Introduction: One of the legal goods provided by a notary is a cover note, which is a statement in the management of a deed or a notarial document stating that the deed is in progress and can be finished within the time set by the cover note.Purposes of the Research: A notary certificate is referred to as a cover note, as a substitute for the process of obtaining a certificate from a notary public, land title guarantees can be replaced temporarily depending on needs and developments. Notaries can make issue cover notes, which have legal consequences and make legal norms null and void. The legal basis for making and issuing cover notes is not yet known. This paper discusses two matters: What legal authority does a notary have to issue a cover note? What are the legal consequences of publishing a cover note by a notary? Methods of the Research: This is typical of legal writings that take a legal approach and examine legal concepts. In socio legal research, research begins with a hypothesis. After formulating the hypotheses, the hypotheses are tested. Data collection techniques in socio legal research are carried out through interviews, observation, questionnaires and document analysis.Results of the Research: However, notaries are allowed to issue and make cover notes because it is a form of agreement. This paper concludes that there is no legal basis for regulating cover notes. If the duties and authorities do not comply with the contents of the cover note, the law will result in a violation of Article 1366 of the Criminal Code.

The results are not copyright infringement if the creation and distribution of the Cover Version through information and communication technology media is non-commercial in nature and benefits the Author or related parties, if the Author expresses no objection to such production and distribution. If the act of covering a song does not meet the elements of Article 43 and Article 44, it is a Copyright infringement. What Gen Halilintar did was copyright infringement, because he made a cover of a song without fulfilling the above elements. The author does not fully agree with the judge's decision to completely reject Nagaswara's lawsuit, because what Gen Halilintar did was a copyright infringement. The basis for the judge's consideration was that the purpose of making cover came from subscribers. Many people cover songs through YouTube, Gen Halilintar covered Nagaswara's “Lagi Syantik” song without permission but still included the word cover and the song title. The basin material is chosen according to the thermal conductivity and lower cost analyses. An experimental and theoretical study have been done on solar still to optimize the design by examining the design, operational and climatic parameter on its performance. Single basin solar stills with basin volume of 500 mm × 500 mm ×200 mm have been fabricated by using saint gobian glass material. A 5 mm thick glass cover was used as a transparent material. This glass cover with an inclination of 13° is fixed to the vertical wall of the still. The whole assembly was air tight made with help of aluminium foil gasket and clips. This work mainly concentrates on the solar radiation, cover title angle, depth of the water.

Boronia pinnata Sm. (Rutaceae) is a plant that is widespread in New South Wales (Australia). Although there are no reports about the use of this species in the local ethnomedical traditions, recent investigations led to the characterization of several secondary metabolites, most belonging to the class of prenyloxyphenylpropanoids. Some of the compounds extracted from B. pinnata showed valuable biological properties, such as anti-inflammatory activity and in vitro inhibition of growth of Helicobacter pylori. The aim of this review is to cover what has been reported so far in the literature on the title plant from a phytochemical and pharmacological point of view.

Specifically, we used those activities where students receive knowledge, such as theoretical classes (T), computational (PC) and laboratory (PL) sessions, exercises (P), ECTS tutorials and bachelor thesis (TFG). Among the different activities, it must also be highlighted the undergraduate dissertation. The activities were conducted in different courses of the Chemistry degree of the University of Extremadura, in order to obtain information from the different competences that appear in the verification report of this title. Finally, the students filled out a survey giving their opinion about the skills acquired in each of the activities.</span></p><p class="Textoindependiente21"><span lang="EN-US">The results of the experience is that students achieve most of the skills considered in the title. Likewise, the results from the activities considered show that not all skills are achieved and other activities should be considered to cover those deficiencies. The activity that most contributes to the acquisition of transversal competences are laboratory practices, while for specific skills, the activities developed with large group of students (T and P) are the most significant. TFG is the activity that best covers most of competences, especially Basic and General.</span></p><p class="Textoindependiente21"> </p>

Indonesia's land-use and land-cover change (LULCC) is a global concern. The relocation plan of the capital city of Indonesia to East Kalimantan will be becoming an environmental issue. Knowing the latest land cover change modeling and prediction research is essential for fundamental knowledge in spatial planning and policies for regional development. Five articles related to integrated technology of geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing for spatial modeling were reviewed and compared using nine variables: title, journal (ranks), keywords, objectives, data sources, variables, location, method, and main findings. The results show that the variables that significantly affect LULCC are height, slope, distance from the road, and distance from the built-up area. The artificial neural network-based cellular automata (ANN-CA) method could be the best approach to model the LULCC. Furthermore, by the current availability of global multi-temporal and multi-sensor remote sensing data, the LULCC modeling study can be limitless

Vegetable and fruit consumption patterns in the United States indicate that most people need to eat far more fruits and vegetables to meet the current nutritional guidelines for a healthy diet. Following these guidelines would require more than doubling the harvested acreage for fruits and vegetables and could have serious environmental implications if unsustainable production practices were used. This situation will likely intensify with population growth and climate change. To answer the title question (can we grow organic or conventional vegetables sustainably without cover crops?), this paper focuses on the high-input, tillage-intensive vegetable production practices in the Salinas Valley of California, a region often called “the Salad Bowl of America.” This region has a serious problem of nitrate contamination of the groundwater that occurred as the agricultural systems here shifted from agronomic to high-value horticultural crops [primarily vegetables and strawberries (Fragaria ×ananassa)] over the past several decades. This raises questions about the sustainability of past and current vegetable production practices and indicates the need for a radical paradigm shift in nutrient management. Cover cropping is well recognized as a “best management practice” in vegetable production systems, but is still relatively uncommon in many of the most important vegetable production regions in the United States, including the Salinas Valley. It is argued that cover crops are an essential part of sustainable vegetable production because they provide a complex suite of unique ecosystem services during fallow periods that complement best management practices during cash crop periods. The reasons that cover crops are uncommon here are discussed and three alternative cover cropping strategies are described to potentially increase adoption of cover cropping in vegetable rotations. These strategies are focused on reducing residue management challenges and include a novel strategy to extract the juice from nitrogen-rich, immature cover crops for use as a liquid organic fertilizer in subsequent cash crops.

The cover image for this issue, from Moroccan artist Mounir Fatmi's installation Modern Times, depicts architectural structures and the cogs of a machine filled in with Arabic calligraphy, representing rapid architectural development and industrialization across the modern and contemporary Middle East. The title derives from the eponymous 1936 Charlie Chaplin film in which Chaplin's character Little Tramp is a factory worker during the Great Depression who, trying to keep up with the acceleration of the assembly line, is quickly overcome and succumbs to a nervous breakdown. Like the film, Fatmi's installation critiques unbridled development and draws attention to its human toll. It also explores two related features of the modern epoch: ceaseless motion and the acceleration of time.

The chapters in this book cover a wide range of topics within developmental neuropsychology, including a developmental theory of behavior, mathematical modeling, electrophysiology, lateralization, and adolescent substance abuse.

Semiotic analysis is concerned with monitoring the signs that reveal the components of text. This study aims to highlight the defining semiotic features included in Ahmed Al-Omari's Bilal's Code with particular reference to semiotic features including title, cover, dedication, preface, semiotics of colors, body language, characters, and time and place components. Using the descriptive- analytical method based on the mechanisms of semiotic analysis, the study tries to highlight the features of the semiotic formation that has played an important role in the foundation of the novel's aesthetic and narrative structure.The study came up with a number of results. The cover of the novel opened the text space on the symbols of racism and rebellion against torture. The title of the novel underlines significant connotations that the receiver has to unravel in order to study the relation between the symbol of the code and the connotations associated with the name Bilal. The beginning of the novel also highlighted Bilal's character, a child who possessed the qualities of boldness, endurance, and secrecy. The author also made use of the language of eyes in terms of sarcasm, love and hatred, perplexity and indifference. The features of the face and its expressive forms ranged from a face symbolizing identity, a face devoid of feelings, and a worried face. The tones of the voice also varied to indicate enthusiasm at times, astonishment in addition to sarcasm, anger and pain .Each character is associated with a symbol that goes along with its nature and its characteristics related to color and behavior. The novel also highlighted the semiotic significance of time and place.

The article provided a classification of scientific research relating to European Green Deal (EGD) issues to assess their compatibility with areas identified in the EGD strategy document and identify emerging future research directions. A systematic literature review was based on bibliometric analysis and focused on articles in Scopus and Web of Science databases. The systematic literature review aimed to identify, integrate and evaluate research on the selected topic based on clearly defined criteria. Research query included (TITLE-ABS-KEY (“EU” OR europ*) AND TITLE-ABS-KEY (“green deal”) ) in the case of Scopus and TS = (“EU” OR europ*) AND “green deal”) in the case of Web of Science. In total, 641 publication records were qualified for analysis. The bibliometric analysis allowed identifying eight thematic clusters and linking them to the eight areas of the European Green Deal strategy. The bibliometric analysis enabled the identification of eight thematic areas of international research undertaken in relation to the European Green Deal. These cover a variety of topics from social sciences, engineering, agriculture, sciences and natural sciences. Clusters included: Energy, circular economy, industry, building, mobility, food, biodiversity and pollution.

Back in 1993, as senior librarian at the Vernadsky Library in Kiev, Ukraine, in charge of cataloguing a newly uncovered Judaica collection, I came across an enigmatic manuscript entitled Sefer ha-ḥeshek. It did not match the bulk of the Judaica holdings. Nor did it fit in Abraham Harkavy's collection of medieval manuscripts. It was too Ashkenazic for Abraham Firkovich's Karaite papers, and too early for most of S. Ansky's nineteenth-century folkloric materials. The manuscript had a wooden cover, separate from the text, with a copper monogram Sefer ha-ḥeshek in Hebrew (hereafter—SH). SH's title appears randomly as a running head; the author occasionally refers to the title of the manuscript. Primarily because of its size—411 folios, 23 of them blank, some 760 filled pages altogether—and due to its magical contents, I discarded any attempts to identify the manuscript as a version of the well-known Sefer ha-ḥeshek, a twenty-or-so-page kabbalistic treatise on the names of the archangel Metatron attributed to Isaac Luria. Also, since the manuscript is not a commentary on the book of Isaiah or Proverbs, it could neither be Solomon Duran's nor Solomon ha-Levi's Ḥ eshek shelomoh.

This research aims to determine the classification of articles in journal of Pustakaloka, and specifically to identify the largest and smallest subject groups based on JITA Classification System of Library and Information Science. Data for this research consist of 174 articles from 2009-2021 publication. To assign the subject of an article, its title and keywords were analyzed. Abstract and article content were also analyzed if the title and keywords were not able to reflect the subject. The data were coded according to the JITA scheme, sorted and counted to build up subject groups. The three largest subject groups are Users, literacy and reading, followed by Information sources, supports, channels, then by Management and Information technology and library technology. Meanwhile, the three smallest subject groups are Information use and sociology of information, followed by Theoretical and general aspects of libraries and information, Housing technologies, and the last is Publishing and legal issues. This research identified that in general, the articles in Pustakaloka are concentrated on some of intermediate and specific level that cover the aspect of users, directional and management functions, pragmatic and technical issues.

Information and communication revolution has brought radical changes in the life style of users. Print media has broken the geographical barriers and also have become more so common with them. During the last few decades, the educational world has begun to appreciate the enormous potential of information and communication technology, which influences our future lives. Improved communication and information access is related to social and economic development. Print media provides an opportunity to bridge the gap between information rich and information poor. Audience research beside the media research is one of the stages which the study was undertaken, under this stage the data were collected from a sample of 80 subscribers from Herat University campus, using personal interview method with the help of well-structured pre-tested interview schedule. The study revealed that most of the readers rated the magazine as moderately effective. Ease in reading, attractiveness of the title and design of the cover page, among cover page components; readability, accuracy, clarity, usefulness, relevancy and adequacy of information among content components and letter size and number of pages per article and magazine among format components received the highest perception score.

THE three volumes of this book set out to cover the common and not so common zoonotic diseases. As the title implies, in many cases, for example actinomycosis, the diseases covered are common to humans and animals rather than being transmitted from animals to man. Volume 1 covers bacterial and mycotic diseases, volume 2, chlamydial, rickettsial and viral diseases and volume 3 deals with parasitic diseases. Each disease is dealt with systematically under the headings of: Etiology, Geographic Distribution, Occurrence in man, Occurrence in animals, Disease in man, Disease in animals, Source of infection and mode of transmission, Role of animals in the epidemiology of the disease, Diagnosis, and Control. This is followed by a bibliography. The style makes it easy to gain a quick overview or refresher on any particular disease that is covered. However, it does not lend itself to differential diagnosis based on clinical signs or symptoms. This means that the books are probably more useful for students, clinicians, epidemiologists, researchers and public health workers needing a quick update on a particular disease than for the diagnostician in the field or clinic.

This study discusses Marshel Widianto's roasting video broadcast on Najwa Shihab's Youtube media with the title "Young Power: What Happens If Young People Have Power". The purpose of this study is to analyze the elements of discourse using the Teun A. Van Dijk model on Marshel Widianto's roasting show that aired on Najwa Shihab's Youtube media with the title "Young Power: What Happens If Young People Have Power". The research method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. The data analysis technique used by the researcher was using content analysis. The technique used in data collection is the note-taking technique. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there are four different elements. Among them are semantic elements (background, details, intent) which discuss in detail the meaning to be conveyed in a discourse. Furthermore, the syntactic elements (sentence forms, pronouns, stylistics, and rhetorical) these four elements are used to analyze the form or sentence structure used by Marshel Widianto and the researchers found an emphasis made by using the inclusion of pictures, word order in the title, letter thickening. , the use of capital letters, colons and so on on the cover (clickbait) of videos that air on Najwa Shihab's youtube channel. The results of the analysis that have been carried out by researchers are of course different from other videos that appear on YouTube, this is due to ideological differences, the message to be conveyed in the discourse, packaging in a video and so on.Keywords: Youtube, Teun Van.
