AbstrakDalam studi-studi kebudayaan, legenda menempati posisi yang cukup penting mengingat fungsi dan peranannya yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Melalui pengkajian terhadap legenda, akan diperoleh gambaran yang komprehensif mengenai kondisi sosial budaya suatu masyarakat, terkait sikap dan pandangan, serta perilaku ritualnya. Hutan Sancang yang berada di kawasan Garut Selatan, menyimpan banyak misteri legenda yang mempengaruhi sikap hidup masyarakat di sekitarnya. Pandangan-pandangan sakral mereka tentang hutan Sancang serta kebesaran leluhur mereka, Prabu siliwangi, telah melahirkan sikap yang memuliakan alam. Berbagai tabu atau pantangan adat lahir dari sikap dan pandangan sakral terhadap hutan dan karuhun. Penelitian ini mencoba mengkaji beberapa legenda yang hidup di kalangan masyarakat di kawasan hutan Sancang, terkait dengan legenda leluhur orang Sunda, Prabu Siliwangi, yang telah melahirkan kearifan lokal masyarakat setempat dalam menyikapi dan melestarikan lingkungan alamnya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis. Melalui pendekatan ini, setiap fenomena sosial dan budaya yang didapati di lapangan dideskripsikan untuk kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori-teori yang sudah ada. AbstractIn cultural studies, legends have very important position considering the importance of their roles and functions in the life of a society. By studying legends we can gain a comprehensive description of socio-cultural condition of a society in relation to their ritual attitudes, views and behaviours. The forest of Sancang, which is located in southern Garut, has many mystery legends that influence people of the surroundingareas. Their belief in the sanctity of Sancang and the majesty of their ancestor, Prabu (King) Siliwangi, has resulted in glorifying Mother Nature. It is reflected in various taboos that were formed on the basis of attitude towards the sanctity of forest and ancestors. This research tries to study some legends that live among the people living around the forest of Sancang, especially the ones that have something to do with the ancestor of the Sundanese, Prabu Siliwangi). The legends have guided the people to create their local wisdom in facing and preserving Mother Nature around them. The author conducted qualitative method with descriptive analytical approach, through which every socio-cultural phenomenon is described and analyzed.

Culture is communication and communication is culture. Humans learn culture through communication. At the same time communication is a reflection of human culture. Culture is a subjective and objective element created by humans that increased survival of life and resulted in the satisfaction of actors in ecological niches. Cultures are spread among those who can communicate with each other because they have the same language and live at the same time and place. Culture can be learned, passed down from generation to generation. Culture can be learned through fairy tales, legends and myths. It is similar in a view of Sundanese public health on the tradition of eating fresh vegetables. This study aims to describe the public health view of Sundanese in the tradition of eating fresh vegetables. The research method used qualitative approach. Technique of collecting data was done by interview process and literature study. This study was conducted in Sumedang area of West Java. The results show that the healthy view in the tradition of eating fresh vegetables in Sundanese society is passed down from generation to generation and obtained through informal learning process, formal learning, fairy tales, and myths.

The tourism industry is one of the primary needs for the life of modern society today. Because of these factors, it makes the need for recreation or tourism increases. East Sakerta Tourism Village is one of the leading tourist destinations in the Kuningan Regency. This village has a long history and interesting community culture, but not many people know about it. This study aims to investigate the history of the East Sakerta Village as a popular tourist destination in West Java. The research method used is a qualitative method. This data collection method is carried out using the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method. Primary data collection was carried out directly and purposive sampling by interviewing key people, namely the village government apparatus, tourism community leaders (kompepar), and the community. FGD method was used to find out about the history, legends, and culture of the East Sakerta Village. The results of FGD findings consist of the religion, the history of the village, the local culture, the historical sites, the myths and legend, and the philosophy of Sakerta Timur Village. The philosophy concept is "Tumaritis" which is a village in the Sundanese and Javanese puppet which has a philosophy of mutual protection, security, and prosperity.

However, the leading Tourism Village of East Sakerta has the disadvantage of not having a thematic sign system that can provide a brand image and facilitate tourists who will visit the area. This study has the following objectives to find out a thematic concept for sign system at the East Sakerta Tourism Village. The research method used is a qualitative method. This data collection method is carried out using the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method. Primary data collection was carried out directly and purposive sampling by interviewing key people, namely the village government apparatus, tourism community leaders (kompepar), and the community. FGD method used to find out about the history, legends, and uniqueness of the East Sakerta Village to support the realization of thematic sign system design. The results of the FGD research show that the agreed thematic concept is "Tumaritis" which is a village in the Sundanese and Javanese puppet which has a philosophy of mutual protection, security, and prosperity

ABSTRACT Sancang forest has quite a variety of potential located in the South Garut area, holding many mystery legends that affect the attitude of life in the surrounding community. Some of the potential possessed include flora, fauna, and landscape that are still sustainable with the availability of water and air. In some forest locations, there is forest destruction that is generally done by persons outside the Sancang community. The efforts offered through this counseling include understanding the existence of elements of local culture, so that they do not perish along with the times and the current of modernization; how the natural environment affects the culture of a society; and how ethnopedagogic role is in preserving the balance of the ecosystem and making use of local culture. The Sancang community it self still holds the customary law "pikukuh" which has been passed down from generation to generation very strongly, so it is unyielding for indigenous people to break the law. This customary law indirectly makes the community have values and culture that tend to protect nature and the environment. This dedication activity was carried out to further foster public awareness of the existence of the Sancang forest in relation to the legend of the Sundanese ancestors who were still strongly held and had given birth to local wisdom of the local community in addressing and preserving the natural surroundings. With the concept of ethnopedagogic, it is hoped that it can improve the understanding of culture-based communities to protect the forest as a part of supporting people's lives. Ethnopedagogics views local knowledge or wisdom as a source of innovation and skills that can be empowered for the welfare of society. The object in this activity is the community around the Leuweung Sancang Nature Reserve (CA) as many as 40 people consisting of indigenous people, school students, and nature lovers groups. The contribution that can be given is to provide an understanding of the management and maintenance of local culture as a potential area that must be maintained, instilling knowledge about the role of ethnopedagogics in preserving the balance of the ecosystem and making use of local culture.Keywords: ethnopedagogic, local potential, Sancang ABSTRAK Hutan Sancang memiliki potensi yang cukup beragam terletak di daerah Garut Selatan, menyimpan banyak misteri legenda yang mempengaruhi sikap hidup masyarakat di sekitarnya. Beberapa potensi yang dimiliki diantaranya adalah flora, fauna serta bentang alam yang masih lestari dengan ketersediaan air dan udaranya. Di beberapa lokasi hutan, terdapat kerusakan hutan yang umumnya dilakukan oleh oknum orang di luar masyarakat Sancang. Upaya yang ditawarkan melalui penyuluhan ini meliputi pemahaman keberadaan unsur-unsur kebudayaan lokal, supaya tidak musnah seiring dengan perkembangan zaman dan arus modernisasi; bagaimana lingkungan alam mempengaruhi kebudayaan suatu masyarakat; dan bagaimana peranan etnopedagogik dalam melestarikan keseimbangan ekosistem dan mendayagunakan kebudayaan lokal. Masyarakat Sancang sendiri masih memegang hukum adat “ pikukuh” yang diwariskan turun temurun dengan sangat kuat, sehingga pantang bagi masyarakat asli untuk melanggar hukum tersebut. Hukum adat ini secara tidak langsung menjadikan masyarakat memiliki tata nilai dan budaya yang cenderung untuk menjaga alam dan lingkungannya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan untuk lebih menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap keberadaan hutan Sancang terkait dengan legenda leluhur orang Sunda yang masih dipegang kuat dan telah melahirkan kearifan lokal masyarakat setempat dalam menyikapi dan melestarikan alam sekitarnya. Dengan adanya konsep Etnopedagogik, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat berbasis budaya untuk menjaga hutan sebagai bagian yang menunjang kehidupan masyarakat. Etnopedagogik memandang pengetahuan atau kearifan lokal sebagai sumber inovasi dan keterampilan yang dapat diberdayakan demi kesejahteraan masyarakat. Objek dalam kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat sekitar Cagar Alam (CA) Leuweung Sancang sebanyak 40 orang terdiri dari masyarakat asli, siswa sekolah dan kelompok pecinta alam. Kontribusi yang dapat diberikan adalah memberikan pemahaman tentang pengelolaan dan pemeliharaan kebudayaan lokal sebagai potensi daerah yang harus dijaga, menanamkan pengetahuan mengenai peranan etnopedagogik dalam melestarikan keseimbangan ekosistem dan mendayagunakan kebudayaan lokal.Kata Kunci: etnopedagogik, potensi lokal, Sancang

The purpose of this study is to describe Palabuhanratu folklore, intellectual property of the Sundanese people, whose existence is increasingly eroded by foreign cultures. This research employed the descriptive-analytical method. It was employed to obtain an overview of Pelabuhanratu folklore. The results of the study revealed that: (1) Palabuhanratu folklore consists of eight pieces i.e. three legends and five fairy tales. (2) The structure of the story includes the character and characterization, plot, and setting. The story figures amounted from one to seven persons, dynamic and static classification. The story plots are all progressive and simple so that it is easy to understand. The location scene depicts past life, the area is still heavily forested, many large trees, rivers, and mountains that are still untouched by humans. Story events happened in the past, but there are no definite dates, months and years. Generally, the social background of the figures comes from royal or noble family circles. (3) The research found 25 cultural values. The twenty-five cultural values are classified into 5 categories i.e. cultural values of human relations with God, cultural values of human relations with their works, cultural values of human relations with other humans, cultural values of human relations with space and time, and cultural values of human relations with nature. Some of the above cultural values are still inherent in people's lives at the present, some have shifted, and some have undergone changes. (4) Palabuhanratu folklore can be used as a material for literature teaching and learning in schools, especially for enrichment material.AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan cerita rakyat Palabuhanratu yang merupakan kekayaan intelektual masyarakat Sunda yang keberadaannya semakin tergerus oleh budaya asing. Dengan demikian, perlu upaya nyata untuk menelusuri, mengkaji, dan memperkenalkannya kepada generasi muda, termasuk siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-analitis, metode ini digunakan dengan maksud untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai cerita rakyat Palabuhanratu. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat digambarkan sebagai berikut. (1) cerita rakyat Palabuhanratu terdiri atas delapan buah; tiga termasuk legenda dan lima termasuk dongeng. (2) Struktur cerita meliputi tokoh dan penokohan, alur, dan latar. Tokoh cerita mulai dari satu orang sampai tujuh orang, bertifikal dinamis dan statis. Cerita semuanya beralur maju dan sederhana, sehingga mudah dipahami. Latar tempat menggambarkan kehidupan tempo dulu, daerah masih berhutan lebat, banyak pohon besar, sungai, dan gunung yang masih belum terjamah oleh manusia. Peristiwa cerita terjadi pada masa lampau, namun tidak disebutkan tanggal, bulan, dan tahun yang pasti. Latar sosial, umumnya tokoh berasal dari lingkungan kerajaan atau bangsawan. (3) Nilai budaya yang ditemukan sebanyak dua puluh lima. Kedua puluh lima nilai budaya tersebut dikelompokkan ke dalam lima bagian, yaitu nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan Tuhan, nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan karyanya, nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan sesamanya, nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan ruang dan waktu, serta nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan alam. Nilai-nilai budaya tersebut ada yang masih melekat dalam kehidupan masyarakat sekarang, ada yang telah mengalami pergeseran, dan ada pula yang sudah mengalami perubahan. (4) Cerita rakyat Palabuhanratu dapat dijadikan bahan pembelajaran sastra di sekolah, terutama untuk materi pengayaan.

Sangkuriang dikenal sebagai tokoh dalam legenda orang Sunda. Tokoh ini kemudian banyak ditransformasikan ke dalam berbagai karya sastra. Salah satu karya sastra yang mentransformasikan tokoh ini adalah fiksi mini karya Godi Suwarna. Enam karyanya dalam buku Lalakon Awon, Godi Suwarna mentransformasikan tokoh ini menjadi seorang tukang perahu. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur teks, transformasi, dan pemaknaannya. Berdasarkan penelitian, diketahui bahwa struktur cerita Sangkuriang bentuknya sederhana, baik dari segi alur, tokoh, maupun latarnya. Selain itu, transformasi ditengarai terjadi berupa ekspansi dan konversi. Adapun makna yang didapatkan umumnya tentang kearifan memaknai hidup.Abstract: Sangkuriang is known as a main figure in the legend of the Sundanese people. The figure has been transformed into various literary works. One of the literary works transforming it is a short fiction by Godi Suwarna. In the six works in the book of “Lalakon”, he transformed the figure into a boatman. This study aims to describe the structure of the text, the transformation, and the meaning. The result of the research finds that the structure of the Sangkuriang story is simple in terms of plot, character, and its background. In addition, the transformations occur in the form of expansion and conversion. Moreover, the meaning of the stories is mostly about life wisdom.

AbstrakSang Kuriang karya Utuy Tatang Sontani dipandang sebagai drama fenomenal dalam sejarah sastra drama Sunda. Drama yang ditransformasi dari legenda Sangkuriang itu dikritisi sebagai drama yang paling inovatif jika dibandingkan dengan Sangkuriang pengarang lain. Artikel ini bertujuan menggali dan menelusuri makna drama Sang Kuriang karya Utuy Tatang Sontani dalam perspektif sastra bandingan. Topik utama dalam artikel ini berkaitan dengan pemikiran Sang Kuriang dengan mengangkat beberapa masalah (1) bagaimana pemikiran Sang Kuriang dalam menghadapi ketidakadilan? (2) bagaimana makna drama Sang Kuriang jika dibandingkan dengan mitosnya? Metode penelitian menerapkan teknik penelitian perbandingan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Utuy dalam drama Sang Kuriang telah berhasil “menghidupkan” kembali tokoh lama, Sang Kuriang yang telah menjiwainya dengan pikiran dan paham baru. Sang Kuriang karya Utuy tampil dengan versi dan makna baru yang berbeda dengan mitosnya. Sang Kuriang, drama dalam bentuk libretto karya Utuy Tatang Sontani dalam khazanah sastra drama Sunda ditempatkan sebagai drama Sunda pascakemerdekaan. Abstract The Kuriang works Utuy Tatang Sontani regarded as phenomenal drama in the history of Sundanese literature. The Drama which transformed from the Sangkuriang legend, was criticized as the most innovative drama than other Sangkuriang author. This article aims to explore and discover the meaning of the Kuriang drama works Utuy Tatang Sontani in the perspective of comparative literatur. The main topic in this article related to the Kuriang's thought to raise the issue of (1) how the Kuriang thinking in the face of injustice? (2) how to play the Kuriang significance when compared to the myth? This research used the techniques of comparative research. The results showed that the Kuriang Utuy drama has managed to "revive" the old figure back, the Kuriang that has been animating with new thoughts and understanding. The Kuriang Utuy works performed with the new versions and different meanings to the myth. Utuy Tatang Sontani's works, The Kuriang drama in the form of the libretto was the literary treasures of drama Sundanese post-independence .

The legend of Sangkuriang is often associated with the creation of Mount Tangkuban Perahu in West Java. It has been retold in various versions, including children's folklore and deconstructed narratives. Regardless of the variation, the story always involves instances of expulsion. There are three expulsions: the expulsion of the god into a dog and the goddess into a pig; the expulsion of Dayang Sumbi into the wilderness; and the expulsion of Sangkuriang by Dayang Sumbi. This study aims to compare the similarities and differences in the reasons behind these expulsions. By understanding the reasons behind the characters' expulsions, readers are encouraged to avoid making the same mistakes in the real world. The research utilizes a qualitative descriptive method with a comparative literary analysis technique, comparing two works: the Indonesian retelling of Cerita Rakyat Sangkuriang by Harnaeni Hamdan and the deconstructed novel Sangkuriang Garing by Givi Givani in the Sundanese language. The result of this research is that the expulsion happened because of forbidden love, pregnancy outside marriage, and killing one's father.

AbstrakWawacan Raden Panji Atmaka (WRPA) merupakan suatu karya sastra yang diindikasikan mengandung unsur-unsur sejarah. Oleh sebab itu, pengkajiannya menggunakan pendekatan sejarah. Untuk mendukung pendekatan ini, diterapkan metode komparatif-analitis supaya dapat dibuktikan bahwa indikasi-indikasi di dalam teks yang menunjukkan hubungan dengan sejarah. Untuk pemahamannya yang lebih luas, terutama dalam memperkirakan konteks zaman dan akar historis dari karya ini, perlu kiranya dibahas jejak-jejak historis yang relevan secara umum. Selanjutnya dianalisis unsur-unsur historis di dalam wawacan ini untuk memahami maknanya yang merefleksikan realitas zaman tertentu. Pada akhirnya, dapat ditemukan bahwa WRPA adalah sebuah karya yang memiliki unsur-unsur legendaris dari sejarah Kasunanan Surakarta dan Kesultanan Yogyakarta. Unsur-unsur legendaris itu meliputi dua aspek penting dalam masalah sejarah, yaitu latar tempat dan nama tokoh. Latar tempatnya adalah Yogya, Solo, Surakarta, Magelang, dan Kedu. Nama tokohnya adalah Sinuhun/Sultan Mataram dan Pangeran Mangkunagara. Latar tempat dan nama tokoh WRPA itu bersifat legendaris karena historis faktualnya hanya dari segi penamaan. Secara umum, WRPA juga menunjukkan satu bukti mengenai sejarah transformasi kebudayaan Sunda dengan kebudayaan Jawa. For support this approach, Analysis-comparative method is used for can be proved that indications in that text shows relation with history. For understanding in wider range, especially in conjecture period context and history root from this works, it is necessary to discuss the relevant history trail in a general. End then the history elements is to analyze the meaning of in this wawacan which reflects of certain period. In the end can be founded that WRPA is one work have legendary elements from history of Kasunanan Surakarta and Kesultanan Yogyakarta. The legendary elements consist of two important aspects in the historical problems, those are the places and the figures. The places are Yogya, Solo, Surakarta, Magelang, and Kedu. The figures are Sinuhun/Sultan Mataram and Pangeran Mangkunagara. Those becomes a legend because the factual history only in naming. Generally WRPA also shows one prove about transformation history of Sundanese culture and Java culture.

This research article is about the exploration of Sundanese folklore in the Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Geopark which is now also known as the Ciletuh Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark. It refers to an area along the south-west coast of Sukabumi West Java, Indonesia. The Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Geopark is rich not only with its natural diversity like geodiversity and biodiversity but also with its cultural diversity. This article is made as one of the outputs of the community service done in Waluran village in the Sukabumi regency of West Java. This village is just one tiny place situated in the vast areas of the Geopark. The problem is that the cultural diversity around the Geopark has not been thoroughly explored yet, including its folklore. Using qualitative method, this research is aimed at exploring the Sundanese folklore specifically the intangible one involving legends and tales through the active participation of the Palapah cultural activist community and the local tour guides. The community service results in the emergence of folklore explored by each target participant from their surrounding area and the majority of them deal with the naming of places called toponym. It can be explored that the geodiversity is reflected in the place names.

Kebudayaan identik dengan kesenian, upacara-upacara adat yang dilaksanakan oleh beberapa kelompok suku bangsa, pakaian adat, cerita rakyat atau legenda serta kesusastraan. Kebudayaan juga sering dikaitkan dengan segala hal yang tradisional. Salah satu contohh kebudayaan yang melekat di masyarakat Sunda, khususnya di Kecamatan Babakan Kabupaten Cirebon yaitu Upacara Adat Ritus Tiwu Panganten (UARTP). UARTP yaitu upacara iring-iringan pengantin tebu yang diarak dari balai pertamuan Pabrik Gula Tersana Baru sampai ke dalam Pabrik Gula Tersana Baru. Dalam UARTP mengandung unsur struktural yang merupakan susunan acara dalam kegiatannya, serta mengandung unsur semiotik yaitu ikon, indeks, simbol, alat, dan pelaku. Selain unsur structural-semiotik, UARTP juga mempunyai nilai kearifan lokal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif. Yang dideskripsikannya adalah tentang nilai kearifan lokal dalam UARTP dikaji dari unsur struktural semiotiknya. Setelah dianalisis, nilai-nilai yang terdapat dalam UARTP yaitu nilai kesejahteraan, kerja keras, disiplin, pendidikan, kesehatan, gotong royong, pengelolaan gender, pemeliharaan budaya, perduli lingkungan, ketenteraman, sopan santun, kejujuran, kesetiakawanan sosial, kerukunan dan penyelesaian konflik, komitmen, pikiran positif, dan rasa syukur. Konsép yang terdapat dalam UARTP, yaitu konsep- konsep permainan, folklor, ritus, mite, punduh, magi, teater. Fungsi yang terdapat dalam UARTP yaitu fungsi hiburan (rekreatif), alat pengesahan pranata-pranata dan lembaga-lembaga kebudayaan (kultural), alat pendidikan anak (edukatif), dan alat pemaksa atau pangawas agar norma-norma masyarakat akan terpanuhi (sosial). Unsur semiotik yang terdapat dalam UARTP yaitu unsur ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Culture is identical to artistry, indigenous ceremonies carried out by some ethnic groups, custom clothing, folk tales or legends and literatures. Culture is often associated with all things traditional. One form of Sundanese culture, especially in Babakan subdistrict of Cirebon district is the Traditional Ceremony of Bride’s Sugarcane Rite. This is a parade ceremony of sugarcane bride from New Tersana meeting hall to the New Tersana building. This ceremony contains structural elements in the form of programs. It also comprises elements of semiotics, which include icons, indexes, symbols, tools and actors. In addition, the ceremony contains local wisdom. The method used in this research is a descriptive method. It delineates the local wisdom extracted from the ceremony by examining semiotic structural elements. Results indicate that the ceremony has many values namely hardworking,discipline, education, health, mutual-cooperation, management of gender, cultural preservation, environmental care, security, courtesy, honesty, social solidarity, harmony and conflict resolution, commitment, positive thoughts and gratitude. The concepts identifiable in the ceremony include the concepts of games, folklores, rite, mites, punduh, magi, and theater. The ceremony has the following functions: entertainment (recreational), instrument of ratification and cultural institutions (cultural), children education tools (educational), and corecive tools to ensure that societal norms are met (social). The semiotic elements found in the ceremony are icon, indexes and symbols.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan keberadaan cerita rakyat di Wilayah Kabupaten Cianjur. Cerita rakyat yang ada di Kabupaten Cianjur memiliki ragam jenis yang berbeda. Berdasarkan pada isi tersebut cerita rakyat itu ada yang tergolong mite, fabel, parabel, dan legenda. Keempat jenis ragam cerita ini masih cukup dikenal di dalam kehidupan masyarakat, baik anak-anak, remaja maupun dewasa. Dengan demikian jelaslah bahwa cerita rakyat, khususnya legenda merupakan materi yang dapat menciptakan berkembangnya cerita rakyat yang bercorak baru dan selaras dengan perkembangan zaman. Fungsi cerita rakyat khususnya legenda di Kabupaten Cianjur memiliki fungsi sebagai berikut: (1) Sebagai alat untuk mewariskan tata cara hidup, dat istiadat, dan kebiasaan, (2) Sebagai alat untuk mewariskan kepercayaan, (3) Sebagai alat untuk menyampaikan pendidikan, baik pendidikan lahir maupun batin, (4) Sebagai cara untuk meyampaikan asal-usul terjadinya hal-hal yang mengandung sejarah, (5) Sebagai alat hiburan, mengisi waktu senggang. Penutur cerita rakyat cukup beragam, baik umur, jenis kelamin maupun pekerjaan. Dilihat dari jenis kelamin penutur pria lebih banyak jika dibandingkan dengan wanita, umur penutur rata-rata berkisar dari 36-80 tahun. Adapun pekerjaan umumnya sebagai pendidik (guru). Para penutur umumnya orang-orang yang dianggap mengenal dengan baik daerahnya masing-masing dan dianggap cukup mampu untuk memberikan informasi tentang daerahnya. Para penutur ini umumnya bersuku Sunda. The aim of this study was to describe the presence of folklore in Cianjur Regency. The folklore in Cianjur Regency has a variety of types. Based on the contents, the folklore covers myth, fable, parable, and legend. The four types are still well known in public life, whether children, adolescents and adults. Thus, it is clear that the folklore, in particular the legend, is the material that can create a new development of folklore characters and in tune with the times. The functions of folklore, in particular legend, in Cianjur cover (1) as a means to pass on the way of life, traditions, and customs; (2) as a means to pass on trust; (3) as a means to deliver inner and outer education; (4) as a way to present the origin of the things that contains history; and (5) as a means of entertainment, to fill spare time. The folklore tellers are quite diverse in age, gender, or occupation. Mostly, they are men. The average age of the tellers ranged from 36-80 years old. Generally, they are educators (teachers). The tellers are commonly the people who are considered to know well their regions and are considered capable enough to provide information about the area. The tellers are generally the Sundanese.

Artikel ini membahas proses penciptaan naskah drama Ambu Hawuk . Naskah ini diadaptasi dari cerita lisandan mitologi lokal yang berkembang di daerah Sunda. Cerita lisan dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalamdengan para informan yang mewakili berbagai versi. Setidaknya terdapat enam versi tradisi lisan mengenai tokohini, yaitu versi Cikawungading, Manonjaya, Cianjur, Sukaraja, Parungponteng, dan Galunggung. Dari keenamversi tersebut terdapat variasi dan kesamaan. Naskah ini mencoba membangkitkan kembali semangat feminismedalam peristiwa-peristiwa yang dijalin dalam legenda Ambu Hawuk. Sistem patriarki masyarakat Sunda lebih seringmemandang perempuan sebagai sebuah kaum yang memiliki keterbatasan dibandingkan dengan kaum laki-laki.Cerita ini menggambarkan seorang perempuan yang dianggap berada di belakang laki-laki dan menjadi bayangbayangseorang laki-laki, muncul menjadi seorang pemimpin.Kata kunci: Ambu Hawuk, naskah drama, tradisi lisan.ABSTRACTThe Creating Process of Drama Script Ambu Hawuk Based on the Oral Tradition and the GenderPerspective. This article discusses about the creating process of the drama script Ambu Hawuk. This script was adaptedfrom the oral story and the local mythology developed in Sunda. This oral story was compiled through the intensive interviewwith some sources of information that represented many kinds of versions. There are six versions of the oral traditiontalking about this character, namely: the version of Cikawungading, Manonjaya, Cianjur, Sukaraja, Parungponteng, and Galunggung. Of those six versions, there are varieties and similarities. This script tries to develop feminism spirit on someinterrelated events in Ambu Hawuk legend. From the perspective of Sundanese’ point of view on the patriarchy system, women are regarded as God’s creature who have more basic physical and mental limitations than men. This story describes a woman who is regarded as a person behind the man’s existence and becomes the man’s shadow; but soon afterwards, she becomes a leader.Keywords: Ambu Hawuk, Drama Script, Oral Tradition

The story of Sangkuriang or known as the legend of Mount Tangkuban Parahu, is a folklore living and developing in Indonesian society, especially in West Java. Sangkuriang is a local wisdom of the Sundanese which is full of messages, meanings and morals which can be learned and applied in everyday life by children. The development of technology and digital media allows everyone toaccess unlimited information. The easy access provides an opportunity to preserve cultural wealth with local wisdom values in digital packaging. Video mapping model is used to package the famous Sangkuriang legend in West Java. Video mapping is a technique of playing with projected light intoa certain area so that it is expected to atract children’s interest with more relevant media. This work uses design thinking theory and uses the 4p innovation approach from Chris Aton (2002). The creative work in producing the video mapping of Sangkuriang legend provides an alternative model for preserving the local wisdom values of Sangkuriang folklore which is more atractive and more accessible digitally.Keywords: Sangkuriang Folklore, Video Mapping, New Media ABSTRAKPesatnya perkembangan teknologi membuat setiap individu dapat mengakses sebuah informasi dengan mudah dan berbanding lurus dengan perkembangan media dalam menyampaikan sebuah informasi. Munculnya media - media baru (new media) yang berbasis teknologi dapat dijadikan sarana inovasi dalam mengembangkan cerita rakyat Sangkuriang menjadi bentuk yang lebih baru dan dapat menjadi nilai lebih dalam membangun minat anak untuk mendalami cerita rakyat Sangkuriang yang merupakan kearifan lokal masyarakat Sunda. Salah satu media baru (new media) yang dapat kolaborasikan dengan cerita rakyat Sangkuriang adalah video mapping, Video mapping merupakan salah satu teknik memainkan cahaya yang diproyeksikan terhadap bidang tertentu, dibuat dengan teknik-teknik tertentu sehingga menimbulkan ilusi optik. Metodelogi dalam perancangan video mapping menggunakan metode “Design Thingking” atau cara berpikir desain dalam mencari inovasi.
