Abstract (sommario):
The article describes the life and spiritual heritage of the great writer Abulkasim Firdausi. His life and work, methodological and ideological origins of the formation of Firdausi as a poet. Ferdowsi is widely regarded as the guardian of the Persian language and pre-Islamic Iranian cultural identity. Of all the peoples conquered by the Arabs in the 7th century, only the Persians can boast of a large literature in the languages of the local peoples before the conquest. Recently, when asked why most Egyptians, heirs of a great pre-Islamic civilization, speak Arabic and not Coptic, an Egyptian historian replied: "Because we did not have Ferdowsi."

Abstract (sommario):
Many college students in the United States arrive on campus with exposure to both traumatic events and typical negative life events, as well as varying levels of emotional wellness. One way that students may seek out help is through spiritually supportive wellness programming. The current study examines the prevalence of and relationship between traumatic life events, typical negative life events, and spiritual growth and decline as predictors of posttraumatic stress in a sample of undergraduates (N = 88) seeking spiritually supportive wellness. Traumatic and typical negative life events and spiritual decline were predictive of posttraumatic stress. Furthermore, a moderation effect was found such that while participants with high trauma exposure and high spiritual decline reported the highest posttraumatic stress, those with high trauma exposure and low spiritual decline reported lower posttraumatic stress, similar to those with low trauma exposure. These results have implications for the role of spiritual decline in the etiology of PTSD (Posttraumatic Stress Disorder) within emerging adult populations who identify as spiritual that warrant further study.

Abstract (sommario):

This qualitative research of the life stories of ten spiritual healers is focused on the threads of their journeys that led them to this unusual line of work, and their descriptions of their inner experiences while they do their work. Spiritual healers use some form of prayer, a communication with the world of spirit, as a significant part of their healing practices. Their stories reveal their controversial beliefs in invisible dimensions and how and why they believe they interact within these dimensions to experience their own mental, emotional, and spiritual healing, and offer this to others. A recurrent theme throughout participants’ lives is their ability to find positive meaning and personal growth through unusual adversity. They all have a strong sense of calling, of life purpose, that drew them to this work in divergent and fascinating ways, many having this awareness even as young children, with self-actualization as an expected purpose and outcome in life.

Abstract (sommario):
This descriptive correlational study aimed to determine the level of awareness towards spiritual well-being and the extent of the practice of spiritual care of nurses who care for non-covid and COVID-19-infected adult patients at a tertiary hospital in Metro Manila. Data were gathered using two standardized questionnaires namely: The Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS) created in 1982 by Craig W. Ellison and Raymond F. Paloutzian, and the Nurse Spiritual Care Therapeutics Scale (NSCTS) by Mamier and Tylor in 2015. Weighted Mean and Spearman’s Rho were used for the statistical treatment. Results of the study showed that the nurse respondents have a very high level of awareness towards spiritual well-being as to religious well-being (RWB) and existential well-being (EWB); they have a moderate extent of the practice in terms of spiritual care; there is a moderate significant relationship between the nurses’ level of awareness towards spiritual well-being in terms of religious well-being (RWB), existential well-being (EWB), overall spiritual well-being and their extent of practice of spiritual care. This implied that there is a relationship between the two variables accordingly but not to the highest degree; that is, the very high level of awareness towards spiritual well-being of nurses just moderately affected their extent of practice of spiritual care. Therefore, the researcher recommended more provision of spiritual care from the nurses for their patients.

Testo completo
Abstract (sommario):
The paper compares key life and spiritual experiences of St. Ignatius of Loyola with his literary works (the Spiritual Exercises, Constitutions and Spiritual Diary). It primarily focuses on events that influenced the “birth of a mystic” especially his stays in Loyola, Manresa and by the river of Cardoner. The paper also discusses a phenomenological description and interpretation of Ignatius’ spiritual metaphors and parables (God’s soldier – knight, life as a spiritual struggle, vocation as the call of the King, Christian life as a choice of Christ’s robe and its adornments). What is typical for Ignatius is that he radically shifted and spiritualized the semantics of this “secular” images. There is a spiritual theme that runs through Constitutions and which is based on a motif of spiritual love and not fear or discomfort. In Spiritual Diary Ignatius moves from spiritual metaphors and seeks new words to describe his mystical experience.

Testo completo
Abstract (sommario):
Spiritual tourism also known as one type of special interest tourism activity based on the expectations related with spirituality is now continuously developing and is being demanded by tourists. This demand is in line with the improvement of tourist information technology. Spiritual tourism will continuously develop due to the changes in the needs of the market. Initially, spiritual activities are directly connected with religion, and they have now shifted to the idea to something that is related with spiritual activities which include, creating comfort, pleasure and quality experience. Despite of the rapid development, it can be seen in the academic writing research, in which, there are still several researchers who argued religious and spiritual tourism as the same type of tourism. The phenomenon of religious spiritual tourism is more complex in the modern era and has been recognised as a separate tourism. Internationalising religious spiritual tourism in the context of people, places, and events has become a challenge. Religious spiritual tourism requires a new mode as a form of quality tourism development so that it will organise sociocultural life with varieties of unique customs and become a tool to increase regional income, creating job opportunities and indirectly improve Malaysians’ quality of life. Thus, there is an urge to integrate the religious aspect into spiritual tourism. Hence, this research aims to develop an Islamic Spiritual Tourism Model (ISToM) based on Maqasid As Shariah. It is hoped that the findings will contribute to the existing knowledge about values and provide implications for developing spiritual tourism sustainably.

The article presents the results of developing a model of reflexive quality of life management for the reproductive health of Russian students based on the explication of its value-semantic priorities, personal potential and for the strategy of accumulating human capital and spiritual and moral education. Reflexive management of the quality of life in relation to reproductive health means a purposeful process of influencing the changing parameters of the quality of life, initiated by the identification of spiritual and moral value-semantic priorities, personal and reproductive potentials of young people. The managerial function of the quality of life in relation to reproduction makes it possible to authenticate the will (desire) and active reflexive actions of a young person along the path of its preservation and generalization.

Abstract (sommario):
The author characterized the Ukrainian national values, national interests and national goals. It is emphasized that national values are conceptual, ideological bases, consolidating factors, important life guidelines on the way to effective protection of Ukraine from Russian aggression and building a democratic, united Ukrainian state. Author analyzes the functioning of the mass media in the context of educational propaganda of individual, social and state values, the dominant core of which are patriotism, human rights and freedoms, social justice, material and spiritual wealth of Ukrainians, natural resources, morality, peace, religiosity, benevolence, national security, constitutional order. These key national values are a strong moral and civic core, a life-giving element, a self-affirming synergy, which on the basis of homogeneity binds the current Ukrainian society with the ancestors and their centuries-old material and spiritual heritage. Attention is focused on the fact that the current problem of building the Ukrainian state and protecting it from the brutal Moscow invaders is directly dependent on the awareness of all citizens of the essence of national values, national interests, national goals and filling them with the meaning of life, charitable socio-political life. It is emphasized that the missionary vocation of journalists to orient readers and listeners to the meaningful choice of basic national values, on the basis of which Ukrainian citizens, regardless of nationality together they will overcome the external Moscow and internal aggression of the pro-Russian fifth column, achieve peace, return the Ukrainian territories seized by the Kremlin imperialists and, in agreement will build Ukrainian Ukraine.

Testo completo
Abstract (sommario):
In the article, advertising communication is explored in the context of socio-political, socio-economic, and cultural-legal processes in Eastern Galicia (1919–1939); The ideological and educational concept of advertising materials is outlined, and the features of shaping Ukrainian civic-state consciousness, national and universal moral-spiritual values, interethnic mutual respect, and tolerance under the influence of press advertising are characterized. In the four chapters of the monograph, a comprehensive study of the essence of Ukrainian press advertising communication in Eastern Galicia is conducted for the first time in the field of journalism science. Iryna Nironovych introduced documents and unpublished materials from eight Ukrainian and Polish archival funds into scientific circulation that are directly related to the development of advertising in Western Ukrainian press. The monograph characterizes the national dominant of press advertising discourse in the conditions of Ukrainian nation’s statelessness. After analyzing advertising in 23 newspapers and magazines, the author of the monograph revealed the specific features of creating information-rich, morally ethical advertising content based on Ukrainian ethnonational principles within the territory of the Polish state. The author also justified the necessity of advertising communication as a means of promoting social solidarity and shaping high moral and spiritual values, as well as humanistic worldview and national beliefs among advertisers and consumers. The monograph characterizes not only the content of information about products and services (verbal and non-verbal parameters) but also the mental traits that, in the conditions of the Polish state, contributed to the promotion of Ukrainian moral and spiritual values. Advertising serves a complex of functions that are essential for meeting the economic, social, cultural, and moral-spiritual needs of the human community. In the conditions of the Second Polish Republic, the situation of Ukrainians motivated advertisers to seek a special socio-psychological, educational, regulatory, and ideological approach to creating advertising. The article emphasizes that advertising announcements with elements of national-patriotic coloring encompassed two components – informational and ideological. Advertising for Ukrainian books on historical topics, magazines, and public organizations carried an enlightening and educational, as well as an emotionally informative character. Press advertising communication in the fields of industrial and agricultural production, trade, household services, and cultural and artistic life served as an emotionally rational factor in strengthening the information-psychological structure of the Ukrainian national community.

Tyson, Paul. Sovereignty and Biosecurity: Can we prevent ius from disappearing into dominium? Mέta | Centre for Postcapitalist Civilisation, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.55405/mwp3en.

Testo completo
Abstract (sommario):
Drawing on Milbank and Agamben, a politico-juridical anthropology matrix can be drawn describing the relations between ius and bios (justice and political life) on the one hand and dominium and zoe (private power and ‘bare life’) on the other hand. Mapping movements in the basic configurations of this matrix over the long sweep of Western cultural history enable us to see where we are currently situated in relation to the nexus between politico-juridical authority (sovereignty) and the emergency use of executive State powers in the context of biosecurity. The argument presented is that pre-19th century understandings of ius and bios presupposed transcendent categories of Justice and the Common Good that were not naturalistically defined. The very recent idea of a purely naturalistic naturalism has made distinctions between bios and zoe un-locatable and civic ius is now disappearing into a strangely ‘private’ total power (dominium) over the bodies of citizens, as exercised by the State. The very meaning of politico-juridical authority and the sovereignty of the State is undergoing radical change when viewed from a long perspective. This paper suggests that the ancient distinction between power and authority is becoming meaningless, and that this loss erodes the ideas of justice and political life in the Western tradition. Early modern capitalism still retained at least the theory of a Providential moral order, but since the late 19th century, morality has become fully naturalized and secularized, such that what moral categories Classical economics had have been radically instrumentalized since. In the postcapitalist neoliberal world order, no high horizon of just power –no spiritual conception of sovereignty– remains. The paper argues that the reduction of authority to power, which flows from the absence of any traditional conception of sovereignty, is happening with particular ease in Australia, and that in Australia it is only the Indigenous attempt to have their prior sovereignty –as a spiritual reality– recognized that is pushing back against the collapse of political authority into mere executive power.

Review question / Objective: This systematic review aims to compile and order all the training load measures, all fatigue assessments, and all well-being questionnaires used in volleyball training/match monitoring, systematizing them. Condition being studied: Training load: cumulative amount of stress placed on an individual from multiple sessions and games over a period of time. Neuromuscular fatigue: A response that is less than the expected or anticipated contractile response, for a given stimulation. Well-being: A continuous, active process, which is geared towards balancing one’s physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual wellness in order to enhance one’s life quality.5 In sport science the subjective measurement of the response to training and competition are used through the athlete self-report measures (ASRMs). Abstract (sommario):
The article reveals and characterizes the methodological features of teaching the discipline «Intellectual and Psychological Foundations of Mass Media Functioning» on the third year of the Faculty of Journalism at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The focus is on the principles, functions, and standards of journalistic creativity during the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Abstract (sommario):
The distressed/street children are deprived of the basic necessities of life, such as food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, and other supports – psychological and others, needed for a child. The government initiated six Shishu Bikash Kendra (SBKs) to improve the environment for street children, their quality of life, and future prospects. Bangladesh Shishu Academy (BSA), under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MoWCA), has designed a holistic model that will directly reach 1,500 children (250 under each SBK) and promote their education, livelihood opportunities, healthcare, and protection. SBK, being implemented by BSA, aims to improve the quality of life of these deprived children by providing accommodation and food with a major focus on education and training. This study examines the process of targeting and selecting children and assesses the situation of children living in the SBK. The major problem faced by the SBK children is accommodation, including access to bath and toilet facilities. In addition to limited floor space, most of the SBKs do not have adequate bathrooms and latrines. It is very important for the SBKs to have their own buildings with adequate bath and toilet facilities. The selection process may be changed as there is provision to accommodate more children. The number of children staying should be increased by changing the selection process (for example, collecting children from slums/remote areas). A protective environment is pivotal to governments’ commitment to ensuring that no child is deprived of the material, spiritual, and emotional resources needed to achieve their potential so that they can participate as full and equal members of society. BSA should make efforts to provide children with the necessary skill/vocational training and other assistance to ensure job prospects for them by networking with different government departments/agencies so that they can participate in income-earning activities and be capable of supporting themselves and become useful members of the society.

Lylo, Taras. THE MISSION OF A JOURNALIST IN THE ESSAYISTIC INTERPRETATIONS BY OLEGARIO GONZÁLEZ DE CARDEDAL. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, marzo 2024. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2024.54-55.12156.

Testo completo
Abstract (sommario):
The article analyzes Olegario González de Cardedal’s views on journalistic mission, that he interprets as a “ministry”. For him, a journalist is the minister of the word, the creator and the interpreter of events, the spokesperson of human being and the witness of human hope. For the Spanish Catholic theologian and author, the newspaper is both “structure and soul”. He believes that media is something more than an ordinary profitable enterprise and interprets journalism as a “spiritual ministry”. A prerequisite for the true ministry is the hierarchical system of values. In this context, for González de Cardedal the most important are “decisive values”, “permanent priorities”, from the positions of which one should think. He also defines two main ideals of mass communication: the development of nobility and the strengthening of freedom. In addition, Olegario González de Cardedal emphasizes such features of a journalist as the devotion to the truth, the respect for facts, the professional cognition of the order of reality, the empathy and the freedom in relation to the powerful of this world. Moreover, the essayist pays special attention to the need for a more targeted approach to the coverage of international events. Olegario González de Cardedal believes that a reader first of all looks in a newspaper not only for what helps him get closer to the people who live nearby, but also to those ones who live far away. This, in his opinion, is a necessity at a time when information is a source of orientation in the struggle for existence, especially at a time of integral challenges that make geographical distances relative. “Human life has already reached cosmic proportions, and we cannot be human without being neighbors. Even through a provincial newspaper, great events of the world must travel: its landscapes, its people, its destinies...” Recognizing the fact that all newspapers are fundamentally local, however, the thinker notes, they must all build a common consciousness, convince of the common purpose and hope. Keywords: journalistic mission, newspaper, values, ideals of communication, freedom.

Abstract (sommario):
The problems of the correlation of cosmopolitan and national identities are too complex to be unambiguous assessment, let alone alternative values (related to the ecological paradigm and the spiritual traditions of other cultures). However, it is obvious that without preserving the national identity, the integrity and independence of the national state becomes problematic. On the other hand, without taking into account the consequences of information wars and aggressive cosmopolitan tendencies of global media culture, there is a threat of losing the national information space and displacing it to the periphery of socio-political and economic life in Ukraine and in the modern world. In the process of working on research issues, the author of the article came out on the principles of objectivity, systematic and determinism, which in combination of their observance made it possible to determine the influence of the post-industrial information society on the formation of a new type of mass consciousness. As a result of the influence of globalization processes, there was a filling of the domestic information space with a supernational mass culture of entertainment, which in most cases leads to the spread of a primitive world outlook based on the ideology of consumption society, without leaving places to preserve sociocultural traditions and national identity. Therefore, given the problems of preserving national identity, it is necessary should be mentioned the information security of the state, which occupies one of the most important places, among various aspects of information security, since the unresolved problem of protection of the national information space significantly complicates the processes of formation of national identity.
