Abstract (sommario):
A healthy lifestyle is defined as ‘a way of living that lowers the risk of being seriously ill or dying early.’ Although barriers and facilitators of healthy lifestyles have been well-studied among populations like those with chronic non-communicable diseases, adolescents, and older adults in Asia, less information is available on barriers and facilitators perceived by the general adult population. Using a qualitative methodology and leveraging the socio-ecological model, the current study aimed to understand the barriers and facilitators of a healthy lifestyle in a sample of Singapore residents. Overall, 30 semi-structured interviews were conducted in English and other local languages from August 2020 to March 2021. Transcripts were analysed using framework analysis. Five main themes pertaining to personal, interpersonal, environmental, socio-cultural, and policy-level factors were classified under the two overarching categories of barriers and facilitators of healthy lifestyles. The results of this study offer important insights into understanding the barriers and facilitators to the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among people in Singapore. Furthermore, our findings illustrate the complex interplay between individuals, social relationships, environment, and policy that can act as either a barrier or a facilitator to adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract (sommario):
Socio-cultural background as a factor in social life can provide direction for how the community preserves local culture. The lack of knowledge about the existence of the Karangbesuki Temple site can be a sign that the socio-cultural literacy of the temple is still poor. Based on the conditions above, the priority of this research is to find out how the socio-cultural literacy of youth is related to the digital preservation of Karangbesuki Temple culture. This qualitative study used a phenomenological approach with five young people in the Karangbesuki area as informants. The characteristics of the management of Karangbesuki Temple still use the concept of self-help, so it does require community involvement, especially local communities. Karangbesuki youth, as members of the community, can help promote the site and learn to carry on oral traditions and justify history for the cultural preservation of Karangbesuki Temple. Impressive research findings show that the socio- cultural literacy of youth in the Karangbesuki area has made youth willing to carry out cultural preservation at Karangbesuki Temple. Youth also do not hesitate to make the history of Karangbesuki Temple their identity or attribute. Karangbesuki youth can be said to have been quite good at socio-cultural literacy which implements the culture preservation of Karangbesuki Temple. Youth have high knowledge about how they can play a role and act as successors to local culture. One proof of the results of this knowledge is the creation of a promotional video for the temple and the participation of youth in cultural activities and discussions. PPBI, as a facilitator of cultural knowledge of Karangbesuki Temple, also works with youth to be better at preserving the culture of the Karangbesuki Temple site.

Abstract (sommario):
This research aims to explore the role of spiritual leaders in shaping and strengthening socio-cultural communication networks in the Buddhayana community. The research focus involves analyzing the active role of spiritual leaders in facilitating interaction, maintaining cultural values, and forging interpersonal connections among Buddhists. This research method uses a case study with a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with spiritual leaders, community members, and participatory observations at religious activities. The results showed that spiritual leaders have a crucial role in shaping and maintaining socio-cultural communication networks. Not only acts as a spiritual leader but also as a facilitator of communication between individuals in the community. Spiritual leaders also play a role in transmitting Buddhayana values, promoting collaboration, and building solidarity among community members. The study also identified factors that influence the effectiveness of the role of spiritual leaders in the context of socio-cultural communication, including active involvement in daily activities, adaptability to technological developments, and the ability to understand community needs. These findings have important implications in understanding communication dynamics in the context of Buddhayana and may contribute to practical thinking to support spiritual leaders and Buddhayana communities in strengthening their socio-cultural communication networks. This research can serve as a foundation for the development of more effective strategies to maintain the sustainability of communication and cultural values within the Buddhayana community and may be applicable to other religious and cultural contexts.

Abstract (sommario):
A parallel mixed-methods study on 20 patient–caregiver dyads in an Asian population was conducted to explore the differential perceptions and barriers to ACP in dementia. We recruited English-speaking patients with mild dementia and their caregivers. A trained ACP facilitator conducted ACP counseling. Patient–caregiver dyads completed pre–post surveys and participated in post-counseling qualitative interviews. We used mixed-methods analysis to corroborate the quantitative and qualitative data. Differential perceptions of ACP were reported among dyads, with caregivers less inclined for further ACP discussions. Post-ACP counseling, caregivers were significantly more likely to acknowledge barriers to ACP discussions than patients (57.9% versus 10.5%, p = 0.005). Thematic analysis of the interview transcripts revealed four themes around barriers to ACP: patient-related factors (transference of decision making, poor cognition and lack of understanding, and dis-inclination to plan for the future), caregiver-related factors (perceived negative impact on the patient, caregiver discomfort, and confidence in congruent decision making), socio-cultural factors (taboos, superstitions, and religious beliefs), and the inappropriate timing of discussions. In a collectivist Asian culture, socio-cultural factors pose important barriers, and a family-centric approach to initiation of ACP may be the first step towards engagement in the ACP process. For ACP in dementia to be effective for patients and caregivers, these discussions should be culturally tailored and address patient, caregiver, socio-cultural, and timing barriers.

Abstract (sommario):
<p><em>Mudarabah is the core of the Islamic cooperation system, which is expected to improve people's welfare. Its practice in Islamic Financial Institutions (IFI) has not realized that goal. One reason is forcing this system to become a profit-oriented formal financial institution. This paper aims to reveal the problems of the institutionalization of mudarabah and attempt to reposition it from IFI to a cooperation system of Islamic socio-economic so that the lofty goals of this system can be realized. This research uses literature and field studies. Data mining techniques use documentation, interviews, and participant observation. The research findings show that four aspects are applied in worksheets that conflict with the essential characteristics of mudarabah, namely, capital and determination of profit sharing, business management, determination of business period, and guarantees. Efforts to reposition mudarabah into the cooperation system of Islamic socio-economic are carried out by removing mudarabah from the IFI and allowing it to become a cultural system that facilitates community needs in economic interaction or to become a cooperation system within the Baitul Mal which positions the Baitul Mal as nothing more than a facilitator that brings together sahibul mal and mudarib.</em></p>

Abstract (sommario):
This study aims to analyze the implications of linguistic mediation processes and educational proactivity in schools for the socio-educational adaptation of immigrant students. The study is based on empirical research and the perspectives of the main actors: the immigrant students themselves. To this end, a non-experimental and descriptive quantitative methodology was used. The sample consisted of 100 students of foreign origin enrolled in an Italian school located in a typical socio-cultural environment. The results show significant differences in linguistic mediation and socio-educational variables and differences in expectations of progress and social adaptation of students born outside Italy vis-a-vis students who, although born in Italy, are still considered foreigners. It will also analyze teaching proactivity as a communication facilitator for first-generation immigrant pupils born outside Italy. In conclusion, it is noted that, to favor multicultural environments where all students, regardless of their origin, feel accepted, integrated, and welcomed, it is necessary to utilize all available resources to promote improvements in teaching-learning processes and strengthen social relations.

Abstract (sommario):
Introduction. The relevance of considering the concept of facilitation in additional professional pedagogical education is due to the ongoing socio-cultural transformations in the world, and in society. The global challenges of the time dictate many paradigms and approaches to continuously improve the professional skills of teachers. These processes, in turn, entail changes in building the personality-oriented effective interaction of teachers on the advanced training courses. The study aims to examine the issues of awareness (reflection) by the teacher of their activity through the facilitating position of the teacher in the organization of training in additional professional education and productive interaction based on the principles of cooperation. Methods. The paper deals with the theoretical aspect that reveals the features of the phenomenon of facilitation, the qualities and skills inherent in the facilitator. The study relies on the methods of questioning, conversations, and the method of questions to one’s self (C. Rogers). Research results. The theoretical material on facilitation has been analyzed, a working definition of the “facilitation” concept has been given, the specific features of the facilitation as an effective means of interaction between teachers in the learning process have been identified. Conclusions. The introduction of facilitation in the process of training teachers helps to improve their professional skills, rethink their role in a constantly changing environment and build their interaction following the principles of cooperation (trust, empathy, mutual understanding and acceptance of others).

Abstract (sommario):
Access to information and communication technology (ICT) is becoming an increasingly important factor for education and training in the South Pacific region. While many studies have examined the attitudes and understanding of educators towards using ICT in their profession and for their professional development, studies that specifically deal with these matters in the socio-economic and cultural context of the South Pacific island states are rare. This study aims to address the gap in the literature by examining the professional development of blended learning facilitators working in remote and isolated communities of the Cook Islands. The research outcomes of this study are based on the analysis of in-depth, semi-structured interviews, and the theoretical foundation of this project is grounded in the social and situated theory of learning. The central finding of the study suggests that participation in online communities of practice offers ongoing opportunities for learning and development, and reduces the feeling of isolation associated with the geographical conditions of the South Pacific region.

Abstract (sommario):
This article explores the different ways in which a dance exergame can be used to teach dance in upper secondary school physical education. Particular attention is paid to the learning processes that students are involved in when the dance game is used as a teaching resource. A socio-cultural perspective on learning constitutes the analytical framework. The study demonstrates three different uses: instructor, facilitator and inspirer. In relation to these uses the students are involved in the following learning processes: learning by imitating, repeating, communicating, negotiating, instructing, modelling and using metaphors. It is argued that dance exergames can be used pedagogically to teach dance because they focus on the moves and steps and allow the teacher to focus on observing, supporting, assigning tasks and providing feedback.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper aims to study the role of local government in realizing sustainable marine tourism. Pemuteran Village is one of the best practices of sustainable marine tourism in the developing world. Three types of government roles were studied, namely: regulator, facilitator, and of executor.. These roles were positioned as exogenous latent variables in a causal relationship with sustainable marine tourism in the village. Sustainability is measured through reflective constructs, i.e. economic benefit, socio-cultural benefit, and environmental benefit felt by the local community of Pemuteran Village. The data were collected from 60 respondents, consisting of community leaders, non-governmental organizations, and tourism industry stakeholders in Pemuteran Village. Then, questionnaires were analyzed by structural equation modelling—partial least square (path modelling). The results show that the government roles did not have a significant effect on marine tourism sustainability. However, the role of local government and the existence of marine tourism sustainability were reflected significantly in its three constructs where the most represented construct in this relationship respectively are the role of facilitator and the environmental benefit. The most important finding in this research is that the role of local government was not only measured by regulator and facilitator roles, as in previous research, but includes analysis of the executor role. which proved significant in structural model evaluationone of the best practices of sustainable marine tourism — – partial least square (path modelling). Abstract (sommario):
There are a lot of divorces conducted outside the court that occurs in Cangkring Village, Indramayu Regency. Uniquely in this village Lebe (a marriage registrar officer) became a facilitator in matters of divorce including in terms of handling administratively the data of divorced couples without submitting to the Religious Courts. Through a socio-juridical study, it is understandable as a choice for the community in resolving conflicts in marriages. There are many reasons for choosing divorce by Lebe, the individual reasons, such as the geographical location of the village that far from the court, economic factors, early marriage, low human resources, or local socio-cultural conditions that affect a person to do divorce through the Lebe. Based on the theory of social action by Talcott Parsons, the actors who chose divorce through Lebe are considered easier to achieve its goal of divorce. Divorce by Lebe in Cangkring village is intended to curb peace and legal protection for the people who have a very high divorce rate. The community was given convenience because the rules in divorce are not as complicated as the divorce process in the Religious Court, even though it is considered illegal.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper explores the aesthetic function of integrating educational drama practice into English teaching. It aims to shed light on the potential benefits and implications of using drama techniques to enhance students’ language acquisition and overall learning experience. Through a comprehensive literature review and analysis, this study examines the relationship between aesthetics and education, highlighting drama’s unique capacity to engage students emotionally, intellectually, and creatively. By immersing learners in meaningful and contextually relevant theatrical experiences, drama practice encourages active participation, builds linguistic proficiency, fosters cultural understanding, and develops key soft skills. Furthermore, this research investigates various drama techniques, such as role-playing, improvisation, and performance, and illustrates how they can be effectively incorporated into English language curricula. Additionally, this paper highlights the importance of the teacher’s role as a facilitator in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students to explore their individual voices through drama. Ultimately, this study advocates for the wider implementation of educational drama in English teaching as a means to enhance students’ language proficiency, cognitive abilities, and socio-cultural competencies, ultimately promoting a more engaging and effective learning experience.

Abstract (sommario):
Management perspectives of the concept of «public dialogue» are revealed in the article on the basis of secondary data of the project of Сupertino (Сalifornia, USA), carried out in the 90s of the twentieth century by a research group led by W.B. Рeirce and V.E. Кronen. The view of the theory of coordinated control of meaning as the conceptual basis of this project allowed the authors to focus on the co-evolution of its methodological foundations and empirical potential, which was expressed in the development of criteria for evaluating any practical theory and improving its conceptual apparatus. The six key principles identified by the authors as SMM Grammar: coordination, forms of communication, event (case), forces of logic, position of the intermediary personality, and contextual reconstruction allow us to take a broader look at the possibilities of the modern field of scientific discourse and the communicative process as a whole. A long-term social dialogue allows us to harmonize the interests of different social groups not by unilateral managerial influence, but by allowing all stakeholders to engage in a constructive dialogue. The main empirical method here is contextual reconstruction of events (focus groups, group discussions, etc.) with the involvement of an рerson-рosition of the facilitator (moderator).

Abstract (sommario):
Education in the 21st century has become more technology integrated, and the shift from conventional modalities of teaching to technology-assisted teaching methodologies accelerated during the pandemic years. The current study employed a qualitative research design (n=12) to explore this shift and the expectations of these novel teaching modalities from both facilitator and learner perspectives in urban higher education settings in India. An inductive thematic analysis of the qualitative data revealed that there is a significant gap in lecturers’ and students’ definitions and expectations of smart learning environments. The themes that emerged from the data were bifurcated into lecturer and student perspectives on smart learning environments and included innovative nature, novelty and complexity, student excitement, and limitations of content. Based on the findings, lecturer and student expectations of SLE platforms had points of convergence and divergence which are unique to the socio-cultural positions of the participants. The current study argues the need to devise methods to improve the efficacy of SLEs in developing economies. Abstract (sommario):
While a number of studies have shown the potential and benefits of augmented reality (AR) technology for preschool education, less attention has been paid to the problem of children’s deep learning and development of the competencies applying AR and to the pedagogy of AR. The aim of the study presented in this paper is to uncover the educational predictors of deep learning and competence development of 5–7-year-old children using AR technology. The research adopted a quantitative research approach and a survey design. The participants were 319 preschool teachers using AR technology for children’s education. The study revealed that a statistically significant predictor of promoting deep learning in preschool children is teachers’ roles, based on a constructivist and socio-cultural approach, when using AR. The research highlights the roles of the teacher as a creator of learning contexts and situations that engage children; the teacher as a proactive facilitator of children’s learning; and the teacher as an educator who acts, thinks and reflects with children, among others. Statistically significant educational predictors of children’s competence development were found to be: teachers’ perceptions of AR technology, the roles assumed by teachers, and the areas of children’s education in which AR technology is used.

Abstract (sommario):
Learning a new language is often perceived as a complex task, necessitating practice across multiple skills. This research examines the significant role of media and institutional resources such as TikTok, YouTube, Netflix etc. in enhancing the learning of English languages in case of Kyrgyzstan which is under Russian language influence. These resources empower English language teachers by bridging communication gaps and facilitating clearer explanations of concepts. By minimizing teacher talk, lessons become more engaging for students. Furthermore, they offer opportunities for learners to see, hear, and interact with the language, thereby increasing their interest in English. These resources also provide real-life experiences that encourage active participation, making learning more concrete and relevant. Additionally, they enhance retention rates, transform the teacher’s role from a knowledge dispenser to a facilitator, and allow students to progress at their own pace. Moreover, they stimulate practice, foster discussion, and inspire higher levels of achievement among students. Employing case study and descriptive methods, this research analyzes the role of authentic language in language learning, exploring ideological patterns in news structures. The findings present practical strategies applicable in language classrooms to improve both language proficiency and socio-cultural awareness. It is recommended that innovative strategies establish a framework to help learners reflect on their language learning experiences.

Abstract (sommario):
Diversity and plurality are closely related fact with Indonesia. This plural society may generate two potential social conditions: harmonization and social conflicts. This study supports Talcott Parson’s Structural-Functional Theory that a good social system in a society, both structural and functional, could preserve harmonization between religions. This study aims to explore a socio-religious condition in Kampung Sawah Bekasi and Cigugur village by analyzing kinds of harmonization and religious living tolerance within the community and exploring each leader's effort to improve the harmonization and tolerance of religious living in a plural society. This study also used a phenomenologist qualitative method which used interviews, observation and documentation as data-gathering techniques. The research found that the harmonization and tolerance of Kampung Sawah Bekasi and Cibubur village community in religious living prevails with three main assets. They are social, cultural, and kinship. These harmonizations and tolerance of the community religious living in both places manifest in their good relationship, high social intimacy, tight brotherhood, high empathy, and helping each other because of kinship. It is also because of the efforts and the active role within the community from all levels, the community, the regional government and local figures. The role of religious leaders also enhanced these harmonizations and tolerance in both places in West Java as the controller, leader, facilitator and motivator. They helped each other to prioritize unity.

Abstract (sommario):
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the influence of the technological segment of the general environment in crowdfunding platforms’ operations in Brazil. Design/methodology/approach By means of a qualitative and exploratory approach, the research comprised the execution of a panel of experts via semi-structured interview scripts. For the data analysis, a content analysis with the software NVivo 9 was conducted. Findings One of the main results concerning this influence in the industry would be the expansion of internet access as key factor to scalability of operations and the use of analytics for developing markets. In addition, the cultural aspect emerges as facilitator for platforms access, thus the influence of technological segment cannot be analyzed without considering the cultural segment of the general environment. Research limitations/implications Research limitations relate to the qualitative approach; although valuable insights were obtained for strategic policy in crowdfunding platforms, generalization is not possible. Moreover, the limited number of experts in the panel who agreed to participate may have been an obstacle for richer results. Practical implications Among some implications to the strategic management of crowdfunding platforms in the country are investment prioritization in analytics, governance and transparency of operations and marketing. Analytics will enable more effective insertion in supporting communities and better selection strategies of projects with attributes of success; governance and marketing will aid platforms to reduce cultural resistance on the part of the potential users. Social implications Regulations regarding crowdfunding platforms as well as socio-cultural segment of the strategic environment are key aspects in fostering co-creation among participants and in bringing scale to crowdfunding operations; they may be mediated by technology. Thus, analytics along with marketing initiatives related to addressing shared practices in communities will have a significant impact on the adoption of crowdfunding. Furthermore, such task should be more intense than in developed economies where internet infrastructure and quality access are widespread. Originality/value Although various contributions have been made to the theme of crowdfunding, there has not been identified any paper addressing future influences of the strategic general environment, such as the technological segment, to the operations of crowdfunding platforms, especially in the Brazilian context.

Abstract (sommario):
The article focuses on integrating 21st century skills into the context of school education. It presents the generally accepted classification of skills; justifies the necessity of their formation in view of the socio-economic challenges of modern society; provides the strategies for their promotion in the framework of foreign language learning. The author carried out the analysis of current publications relevant to the topic of the research. Skills are traditionally grouped into four categories: 1) digital literacy (knowledge of science and technology; ability to receive, analyze, design, and visualize information; cultural awareness); 2) innovative thinking (adaptability, adequacy of response to the environment, self-organization, curiosity, creativity, ability to risk, analytical skills); 3) effective communication (team-building and leadership in a group, working in collaboration, interpersonal skills, social and civic responsibility, interactivity, e-learning and working through mutual development); 4) high productivity (ability to prioritize, programmatic planning and management, efficient use of resources, the ability to create the right quality product of their work). In practice, transformation in education system is expressed in changing learning models: 1) student-centered learning; 2) interactive teaching of "teacher-student" format; 3) the role of the teacher takes many forms: facilitator, curator, advisor, expert, who facilitates the task or project. To form cognitive and social skills while teaching English in secondary school, it is recommended to follow the didactic principle of students' consciousness development, to rely on a personalization and individual approach, to use problem-based learning technologies, to use interactive forms of learning. For the formation and development of personal competencies, it is recommended to carefully select authentic training materials facilitating the learners' curiousity and be problematic in nature. The results of the implementation of the proposed strategies provide for the creation of a success situation in the English language lesson, which allows the development of creative abilities, stimulates their expression, as well as promotes the expected learning outcomes.

Abstract (sommario):
In Ukraine, there is a steady trend towards the growth of the number of corporate training centers and the strengthening of their influence not only on the labor market, but also on the market of educational services. Specialists who are professionally engaged in the organization of the educational process in these centers combine in their activities a number of functions related to training and development of personnel, while performing various social roles: mentor, consultant, tutor, facilitator, coach, trainer, etc. Such activity requires the development of andragogic competence. The article reveals and substantiates the trends in the development of andragogical competence of pedagogical staff in the field of corporate education. They are correlated, on the one hand, with the development of adult education and training in general, and on the other hand, they are related to the strategy and mission of each specific organization. With this in mind, they can be classified into general and specific. Among the general trends important for the development of andragogical competence of corporate andragogues are: the dynamics of socio-political and socio-economic processes and phenomena, which must be realized, perceived, adapted to them (global aspect); awareness of one’s involvement in the world community with its general cultural and professional trends (cross-cultural aspect); diversification of educational services and broad involvement of different categories of adults as a result of ICT development (technological aspect); improvement of legislative and regulatory support for education and training of adults (legal aspect). The specific trends in the development of andragogic competence of corporate andragogues are: the growth of the role of the individual, his interests and needs (value aspect); strengthening of the subjective position in society, which requires the development of soft skills (activity aspect); expansion of the information space with simultaneous content changes of information, which require the ability to rework it and use it in new conditions (cognitive aspect); construction of one’s own strategy of personal and professional self-development (reflective aspect); independence and responsibility for one’s own health and livelihood (resource aspect). Awareness of these trends will allow corporate andragogues to take a subject position in the organization of training and development of the organization’s personnel, form ethical and social norms of professional behavior within the framework of the organization’s corporate culture, and independently determine the trajectory of their own development.

Abstract (sommario):
English abstract The use of sociocultural and socio-material theories in studies of the role of kindergarten employees in toddlers’ mathematical learning processes The purpose of the article is to describe how Lev Vygotsky’s and Karen Barad’s theories have been used to analyze the role of kindergarten staff in the mathematical learning processes of toddlers (up to 3 years old), in previous research. These theories were chosen because they have been dominant in Nordic research about the adult role in the mathematical learning processes of toddlers. The chosen studies which use socio-cultural theory, from the work of Vygotsky, emphasize the importance of the guiding adult and social interaction in providing mathematical learning opportunities for young children. Research based on Barad’s theory, on the other hand, highlights the role of facilitator that focuses on learning opportunities that arise in toddler’s bodily intra-actions with the material environment. The studies indicate that both perspectives provide different insights into the role of kindergarten staff in mathematical learning processes of toddlers. In future research, combining both perspectives could therefore contribute to understanding the variation and complexity in the practice of the kindergarten employees and their perspectives on the adult role in their contribution to toddler’s mathematical learning opportunities.

Abstract (sommario):
The networked society is challenging the localisation-based organisation of learning and education, especially for professional masters. The professionals need and want to be able to participate in continuing education and life long learning throughout life, however they don’t have to or want to move to university cities in order to pursue a master as well as they want to integrate the study with work based experiences and challenges. Therefore, there is a need to explore and develop new ways of organising educational programmes at masters level, which respond to the needs of the learner, utilize the opportunities of new ways of organising research based teaching and learning at the highest level. The solution is to design for research based learning organised as networked learning. Doing so offers access to a dynamic and flexible learning environment for students as well as professors. MIL (Master in ICT and Learning) is a masters programme organised as a networked learning environment for professionals and professors. MIL is in 2010 celebrating 10 years of birthday. More than 300 masters have graduated, most of them playing an active role in the transformation of the Danish educational system integrating new learning approaches supported by ICT. MIL as an institution in itself is a network, based in collaboration among leading research centres within five Danish universities on different core aspects of ICT and learning. This Symposium gives us an opportunity to reflect on selected issues and practices within MIL. We have selected four issues to explore, reflect and discuss more deeply: • Overall design of a networked learning master environment for professionals• The role of the supervisor and the facilitator• Engaging for digital democratic dialogues• Engaging for productive and producing aspects The overall theoretical approach is based in socio-cultural learning and cognition, and the methodological approach is practice based research. Symposia participants and paper abstracts Design of a Networked Learning Master Environment for Professionals – using the approach of problem based learning to establish a community of practiceThe paper is presenting the overall learning design of MIL (Master in ICT and Learning). The learning design is integrating a number of principles: 1. Principles of problem and project based learning 2. Networked learning / learning in communities of practice. The paper will discuss how these principles interact productively in the design of a networked learning environment for professionals. Problem-oriented Project Studies – the role of the teacher as supervising / facilitating the study group in its learning processesThe paper focuses on the challenges related to the role of the supervisor and the facilitator within problem- and project based networked learning. The facilitator role is viewed in the span of the therapist, the teacher /the expert and the facilitator. The paper is based on reflections on the experiences gained from many years of problem – and project based teaching and learning practices. The paper focus on the practice within Master in ICT and Learning (MIL), which is a primarily collaborative networked learning environment for professionals , which calls for a supervisor /facilitator, which is flexible and able to reflect the complexity role of the supervisor. The theoretical inspirations for the different roles are found in Habermas’s concepts and discussions of communicative actions and strategic communication. Exploring the Digital Democratic Dialogue in Networked Learning Environments. The paper is exploring the digital democratic dialogue in networked learning environments. The paper is going to take point of view in the dialogical practice within MIL (Master in ICT and Learning), and the learning design developed through the last 10 years. Theoretically, the paper will among others draw on Wittgensteins perspective on ‘language games’. A Theoretical Design for Learning Model addressing the Networked SocietyThe paper address that the transition from the industrial to the networked society produces contradictions that challenges the educational system and force it to adapt to new conditions. In a Danish virtual Master inInformation and Communication Technologies and Learning (MIL) these contradictions appear asa field of tension between time resources and the demand for educational quality. The aim is to provide a scaffold that ensures students´ acquisition of the subject matter within a time limit and at a learning quality that support their deep learning process during a subsequent period of on-line study work.

Abstract (sommario):
The problem of teaching speaking in the adult ESP classroom has not been sufficiently studied in Russia, although the challenges it poses differ significantly from those that traditional research on pedagogy can address. One of these challenges is that some Russian adult ESP students do not feel comfortable speaking English in front of their teacher and classmates, which leads to communication barriers. The review of the literature on andragogy, our observations, and the anonymous survey conducted among Russian adult ESP learners have revealed that this discomfort may be caused or compounded by such socio-cultural and psychological factors as the fear of appearing incompetent and difficulty assuming the subordinate role of a student. The given study explores these factors and suggests creating a number of conditions maximizing the benefits of speaking activities for adult ESP audiences. The first condition is a flexible class organization, in which students are mostly encouraged to interact with equals in respect of their social characteristics and language proficiency. It creates a favorable anxiety-reduced classroom atmosphere in which all learners are given an opportunity to demonstrate their strengths. Another condition is the students exposure to relevant learning content with interactive speaking activities representing real-life communicative situations. It raises adult learners motivation and reduces the impact of psychological constraints. The third condition is the teaching style of a facilitator rather than a superior, which involves recognizing that both the teacher and the adult learners are competent in their respective fields of expertise and therefore equal in status. This setting proves to foster the development of speaking skills in Russian adult ESP classrooms and thus may be recommended for this audience. Further research into the topic may reveal more factors underlying verbal interactions in adult ESP classroom.

Abstract (sommario):
Introduction. The vector of development of the education system, the choice of its contents, quality and results of training, style and spirit of the relationship of its participants, degree of their informative activity, intellectual and cultural growth are firstly caused by valuable attitudes of participants of the educational process. A teacher is a bearer of values. One of the main functions of the teacher is the education of the younger generation, the introduction of the person to moral ethics and universal values. In this regard, training of future teachers has to include the purposeful formation of the system of the internal, emotionally experienced values which will help them to cope with the complex of socio-cultural problems in the future professional activity. The aim of the paper is to present the research findings on the conceptual model of the dialogue space of education as the basis for the development of the future teacher axiosphere which corresponds to current ideological, social, economic, technological and other progressive civilization trends.Methodology and research methods. In the course of the research, fundamental ideas of the following scientific approaches were applied: humanistic approach – free and creative development of an individual; dialogical approach – pluralism of opinions and a variety of positions of subjects of education; axiological approach – attitude of the individual to the world around him/her, to other people and to himself / herself; activity approach – specific activity of the individual, aimed at appropriation of social experience by the person, change of the surrounding world and selfhood. To design and organize the model of the dialogue space, the methods of analysis, synthesis and generalization of the theory and practice were used. Results and scientific novelty. The authors presented the strategic guidelines of the interactive environment education: the development of social cooperation, using the pedagogical peaceful potential, the development of interpersonal and intergroup relations, organizing children spiritual and moral education as a national priority. The teacher value system was revealed empirically and described. It was found out that a modern teacher should responsibly perform the professional duties of a mentor, tutor and facilitator of the educational process. The authors clarified the concept of “axiological sphere” of the teacher. The teacher axiological sphere is considered as a complex of personal, professional-pedagogical and socio-cultural values. These values have separable functions. Firstly, they determine the content and nature of the educational activity. Secondly, they regulate the interaction of the participants of the educational activity. Thirdly, they stimulate personal self-expression of the members of that activity. Fourthly, they directly influence the efficiency and effectiveness of education. The conceptual model of dialogue space of education as a formation zone for the teacher’s axiosphere was designed on the basis of the theoretic-methodological, philosophical, psychological and pedagogical concepts of the leading scholars’ writings. The resources of this space were identified; its structural components were presented and proved. The implementation of the components mentioned above can create a special context for the humanitarian training of a future teacher; will give an opportunity of interactive development of students’ common cultural, communicative and special competencies; will increase students’ motivation to pedagogical activity, the search of new ideas for training, innovations and professional self-education. The authors demonstrated the value orientations typology and tactics of their acquisition by students at the dialogue level.Practical significance. The presented materials can be used in practice of the higher pedagogical education to improve the quality of graduates’ training through enrichment of their personality axiological sphere. The model for the formation of the future teachers’ value system in dialogue educational space will allow providing conditions for individualization of routes of their training taking into account different approaches to the organization of activity of education participants and features of their self-development.

Abstract (sommario):
In Tanzania, 27.1% of all women of reproductive age are currently using modern contraception and 16.8% have an unmet need for family planning. We therefore examined factors associated with family planning uptake after giving birth in two regions of Tanzania. The survey, which collected information beyond that collected in the Tanzania Demographic Health Survey, used a two-stage, stratified-cluster sampling design, conducted in April 2016 in Mara and Kagera regions in Tanzania. A total of 1184 women aged 15–49 years, who had given birth less than two years prior to the survey were included. Logistic regression mixed effect modelling was used to examine factors associated with family planning uptake. A total of 393 (33.2%) women used family planning methods and 929 (79%) required prior approval from their partners. Participation of men in utilization of maternal health care was low, where 680 (57.8%) women responded that their partners accompanied them to at least one antenatal care (ANC) counselling visit and 120 (10%) responded that their partners participated in family planning counselling. Women who did not want to disclose whether they had discussed family planning with their partners, strikingly had the highest percentage of using family planning methods after birth. Factors independently associated with family planning uptake included: having discussed family planning with the partner (aOR 3.22; 95% CI 1.99–5.21), having been counselled on family planning during antenatal care (aOR 2.68; 95% CI 1.78–4.05), having discussed family planning with a community health worker (CHW) (aOR 4.59; 95% CI 2.53–8.33) and with a facility health care worker (aOR 1.93; 95% CI 1.29–2.90), having primary or higher educational level (aOR 1.66; 95% CI 1.01–2.273), and being in union (aOR 1.86; 95% CI 1.02–3.42). Educational interaction with community and facility health workers, as well as having a supportive partner as facilitator increased uptake of family planning. This needs to be prioritized in regions with similar socio-cultural norms in Tanzania and beyond.

Abstract (sommario):
Background The incidence and mortality rates of smoking-associated lung cancer are high among Chinese immigrant smokers. Coming from a country with different smoking policies, culture, and economic background than the U.S., Chinese smokers may change their smoking behaviors after immigrating to the U.S. Objectives This study aims to explore the trajectory of smoking behavior change among Chinese immigrant smokers migrating to the U.S. Methods This qualitative study was guided by the Grounded theory. Semi-structured intensive individual interviews were conducted among 10 eligible participants. A purposive theoretical sampling method was used to recruit participants through a website. Individual interviews were conducted online, via telephone, or in-person in Mandarin. Data were transcribed verbatim in Mandarin, translated into English, and triangulated with follow-up interviews and dialogues among authors to enhance trustworthiness and consistency of the study. Process coding and content analysis were used to analyze data. Results A total of 10 participants, 7 males and 3 females, were interviewed. Results showed the trajectory of smoking behavior change among Chinese immigrant smokers went through three phases: 1) Beginning to smoke, which included learning to smoke from others, trying to smoke and learning to smoke, and hiding their smoking behaviors from others; 2) maintaining smoking, which included setting boundary around smoking, smoking as a facilitator or barrier to social interaction, feeling pressures related to smoking behavior, and making others happy: Collective smoking and controlling smoking desire; and 3) changing smoking behaviors, which included experiencing life events that were triggers to changing smoking behavior, boredom as a reason for relapses, personal will as a key to quitting smoking, and quitting smoking for a loved one. Although some differences existed between male and female Chinese immigrant smokers’ smoking behaviors, their trajectories of smoking behavior change were generally similar. Discussion Findings from this study can help health care providers to extend their understanding toward smoking behavior change among Chinese immigrant smokers across different socio-cultural contexts.

Abstract (sommario):
Total energy intake and the frequency and size of meals are profoundly influenced by the socio-cultural context in which it occurs. Simply eating with one other person increases the average amount ingested in meals by 44% and with more people present the average meal size grows even larger. The impact of social facilitation of energy intake on the individual appears to result from genetic effects both on the individuals' sensitivity to the presence of other people and also on the number of other people an individual tends to eat with. Culture markedly affects the choice of foods in the diet and the pattern of meals over the day. However, many of the social, psychological and physical variables that influence intake are similar across cultures.

Abstract (sommario):
The article shows that sculpture at the turn of the twenty-first century has undergone significant changes, expanding its content to include not only traditional genres but also digital forms. Digital sculpture has become a new medium that combines classical, impressionist, modernist, and postmodernist concepts using the possibilities of 3D modeling. The evolution of the concept of “digital sculpture”, which reflects the combination of art and technology, is considered. The morphological and technological features of digital sculpture, its influence on traditional art forms, and its role in contemporary art history are also analyzed. Emphasis is placed on the interaction of artistic experimentation with new media and the impact of digital technologies on the creation of artistic works. In particular, the transition from traditional materials to virtual modeling, which allows creating three-dimensional objects using specialized software and 3D printers, is revealed. The advantages of digital sculpture over traditional sculpture are identified. The significance of digital sculpture as the latest art practice that forms virtual objects using computer technology is actualized. The peculiarities of the perception of such sculpture in the context of changing traditional ideas about material objects are noted. Different states in which digital sculpture can exist both in the virtual world (animation, games) and in the physical world (augmented reality, 3D printing) are analyzed. It is stated that digital technologies make it possible to overcome material limitations and expand the possibilities of sculptural creativity, which affects the aesthetic ideas of contemporary art. The socio-cultural significance of digital sculpture is revealed, which is spreading in various fields of science, technology and art, in particular in education, medicine, forensics, industry, interior design, cinema, video games and other fields. It is suitable for recreating historical images, modeling bio-organisms, and for use in museum restoration. The educational role of digital sculpture lies in its visualization, which facilitates the learning process and stimulates interest in art. Since this art form expands the possibilities of creative realization, destroys stereotypes and forms new aesthetic approaches, it is now necessary to integrate theoretical and practical research for a deeper study of this artistic phenomenon and the introduction of the methodology of its study into the educational process of fine arts training of future specialists in artistic specialties.

Abstract (sommario):
The implementation of sustainability-oriented practices in small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has been discussed frequently over the years. Recent studies on sustainability have focused mainly on links between ecological and economic sustainability. This exploratory study aims to explore institutional barriers and facilitators regarding the implementation of sustainability-oriented practices in the Indonesian batik industry and to provide policy recommendations. The Indonesian batik industry is well-known for its cultural heritage and for being part of the Indonesian identity. Batik products are mostly hand-crafted by women crafters. The study used in-depth insights from two focus groups conducted with entrepreneurs active in the batik industry, while also building on earlier empirical insights. The lack of customer knowledge and socio-cultural and regulatory factors were found to be barriers to sustainability in batik SMEs. Ecological, technological, socio-cultural, and political factors were found to facilitate achieving sustainability objectives. This study contributes to the sustainable entrepreneurship and women entrepreneurship literature by considering facilitators and barriers as they are experienced by batik entrepreneurs and by furthering the conceptualization of sustainable entrepreneurs as either “committed” or “followers”.

Abstract (sommario):
The ethnopolitical situation in the North Caucasian communities is characterized by instability, which is caused not only by the socio-economic situation in the region, but also by socio-cultural processes. Recently, in the socio-cultural life of the region, the issues of the memory of history have been actualized in connection with the spread of various cultural meanings manifested in cultural memory, aimed at preserving and reproducing the integrity of the sociocultural organism, and historical memory, which is an ideological reflection of social reality, framed by political interests of ethnic entrepreneurs. The aim of the study is to determine which mechanisms of the reproduction of socio-cultural practices, namely, cultural memory and / or historical memory – prevail in the North Caucasian communities. The study revealed the dominance of historical memory as a factor in the dynamics of socio-cultural processes. This results in the formation by each ethno-nation of its “own” historical memory, the use of which leads to an increase of risks for the stability of ethnopolitical situation in the North Caucasus. The conclusion is made about the importance of activating the mechanisms of consolidation in the socio-cultural practice of the North Caucasian communities, and strengthening peace and cooperation between people of different ethnic and religious identity. This can be facilitated by the reorientation of the historical consciousness of the inhabitants of the North Caucasus region from historical to cultural memory.

Abstract (sommario):
Introduction. The article analyzes the problem of socio-cultural threats to the digital transformation of society. The digital transformation of society leads to the presence of large socio-cultural threats associated with the instability of the value system and Russian society as a whole, and as a result, with the distortion of socio-cultural identity. The study and comparison of socio-cultural threats will allow us to answer the question: where is the modern socio-cultural environment ofRussia in General and individual regions (socio-territorial communities) in particular in terms of the importance of the threats produced? The problem of studying young people's perceptions of sociocultural threats is becoming relevant and timely.Materials and Methods. To study the perception of socio-cultural threats to the digital transformation of society by young people, a 13-point questionnaire was developed. The study involved 583 people, residents of the cities of Ivanovo, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl (23% – men, 77% – women; average age 20,5 years). The responses received were interpreted and processed using qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis.Results. There are two types of threats to the security of digital transformation of society: social (growth of cybercrime, reduction of interpersonal communication, growth of aggression and antisocial behavior, information stress) and cultural (decrease in the cultural level of society, weakening of the unity of the people, growth of interethnic conflicts, erosion of traditional values). Regions are dominated by various socio-cultural threats, but usually include both social and cultural threats.Discussion and Conclusions. The problem of digital transformation of society can be determined by the lack of a sense of security in the main spheres of life of socio-territorial communities-interpersonal, everyday, ethnic, religious, political, economic, information, etc. Insecurity in these areas determines the actualization of relevant threats and risks. Prevention of sociocultural threats will be facilitated by an objective assessment of their reality by young people through the formation of socio-cultural identity, development of critical thinking and social interaction skills.

Abstract (sommario):
Female adolescents experience exacerbated vulnerability to the effects of gender inequities in refugee settings, where there is often a lack of protective societal structures and the politicization of their access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, which result in an increase in teenage pregnancy as compared to non-refugee settings. In the Mugombwa refugee camp in Rwanda, there were 47 adolescent childbirths in 2021 alone. This study explores the perspectives of female adolescents on the barriers underpinning adolescent unplanned pregnancy in the Mugombwa refugee camp. Focus group discussions were conducted with 16 adolescent girls between the ages of 10 and 19. The findings were analyzed using inductive and deductive thematic analysis. Barriers at the individual, interpersonal, communal, and institutional levels underpin unplanned adolescent pregnancy. Socio-cultural barriers of poverty and transactional sex, poor knowledge of contraceptives, negative peer influence, sexual coercion, poor parent–adolescent communication, negative health worker attitudes, selective SRH community outreach, and the inaccessibility of contraceptives emerged as themes influencing the sexual behavior of adolescents and unplanned pregnancies. The socio-cultural barriers and systemic facilitators of gender inequality associated with being an adolescent female in a refugee camp must be prioritized to alleviate adolescent unplanned pregnancy.

Abstract (sommario):
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a global mental health concern, with treatment often involving antidepressant (AD) medications. However, adherence to these medications remains a significant challenge. This study aims to investigate the factors influencing medication adherence among individuals with MDD in Erbil, Iraq. This study was conducted at Erbil Psychiatric Hospital, a leading mental healthcare facility in Erbil city. Participants aged 18 to 65, diagnosed with MDD as per the DSM-5 criteria, were treated with antidepressants. The recruitment of 106 participants was facilitated by their treating psychiatrists at the hospital. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 22, standard for social science research. Out of the 106 participants, 64.2% were females, and 35.8% were males. The largest age group was 35–45, comprising 33% of the sample. A vast majority (99.1%) were under regular follow-up, with only 0.9% experiencing relapse. The primary antidepressant used was selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) (72.6%). Most participants (61.3%) reported very high medication adherence. The notable barriers included treatment duration (13.4%), forgetting to take antidepressants (11.9%), frequent medication refills (17.9%), cultural and religious beliefs (19.3%), stigma (19.3%), travelling issues (42.9%), and lack of hospitals and clinics (30.8%). Healthcare facilitators such as effectiveness of antidepressants (27.5%), patient-provider relationship such as trusting healthcare providers (50.7%), and reminders such as keeping pills in visible places (65.9%) were prominent facilitators aiding adherence. Future research should focus on culturally tailored interventions and collaborative efforts among stakeholders. By addressing socio-cultural nuances and enhancing mental health support, more effective strategies can be developed to tackle medication adherence challenges in Erbil’s unique context.

Abstract (sommario):
This article locates and critiques monolingual discourses within applied performance praxis in the United Kingdom and South Africa, suggesting starting points for facilitating multilingual actors’ vast linguistic resources. Set out as a theorized reflection of praxis, I interrogate how the facilitator can draw from actors’ linguistic resources without perpetuating dominant and potentially damaging language ideologies, by which I refer to the socially shared beliefs about language that shape and are shaped by language use. I discuss the powerful language ideologies connected to so-called ‘standard’ English and constructed by dominant institutions to discover how they are reproduced in performance praxis. I also analyse performance examples engaging complex linguistic conditions related to both student and refugee groups in the United Kingdom and South Africa to discuss varied facilitation approaches in context. Through my reflection, I reveal the complexities and opportunities for the facilitator navigating the socio-culturally and politically fraught terrain of language.

Abstract (sommario):
Urban Indigenous populations encounter distinctive challenges in maintaining traditional dietary practices, compounded by the complexities of socio-economic and environmental factors and the modern urban lifestyle. This qualitative study explores the perceptions of healthy eating, along with the facilitators and barriers to such practices, among urban Indigenous peoples in Saskatoon, Regina, and Prince Albert. Through virtual interviews, we engage 14 participants from these cities. Utilizing NVivo for thematic coding, we apply inductive thematic analysis to reveal relevant themes. The study highlights a preference for nutrient-rich, natural, and minimally processed foods, with a significant emphasis on incorporating traditional Indigenous foods into diets. These preferences are deeply entwined with cultural identity and underscore the importance of traditional foods in maintaining cultural heritage and promoting well-being. Despite the intrinsic value of these traditional foods, participants face several barriers to healthy eating, including economic constraints, limited access to traditional foods, and the psychological impacts of historical trauma. Nevertheless, facilitators such as community and family support, engagement in traditional food practices, and a growing awareness of nutritional knowledge are identified as being crucial in supporting healthy dietary choices. This research underscores the complex interplay of cultural, economic, and environmental factors in shaping the dietary practices of urban Indigenous peoples.

Abstract (sommario):
The impact of cultural commodification tends to refer to negative patronage issues, and little attention is paid to discussions of social adjustment. Puri Saren Agung Ubud is a cultural heritage landmark that then commodifies its culture. Framed by Fairclough's form of commodification, Cohen's socio-cultural impact, and Grimble & Wellard's stakeholder role principles, this research investigates the socio-cultural consequences of cultural commodification and the role of stakeholders in responding to these consequences. Based on qualitative research with hermeneutic phenomenological analysis, the results show that cultural commodification occurs in three terms of social phenomena, namely genetics, rationality, and functionality. Performing arts as a tourism product has experienced a shift in the function of sacralization towards secularization for the needs of exoticism; the impact of cultural commodification also produces economic motives, a means of stress relief, creating motivation, sunnum bonum actions, and strengthening relationships. The impact of cultural commodification needs to be addressed in a form by stakeholders, in this case, ARCGM (Academy, royals, community, government, media), so that tourism mobility at Puri Saren Agung Ubud creates prosperity and quality. The roles of ARCGM stakeholders are 1) academy as drafter; 2) royals as policy creators and facilitators; 3) community as implementer; 4) government as coordinator; and 5) media as an accelerator and mediator. This study proposes stakeholders build tourism mobility with innovation in local values to strengthen socio-cultural identity. This study allows for a better understanding of sociocultural consequences as a basic framework for formulating policies, regulations, and collectivities.

Abstract (sommario):
Contemporary states act as facilitators and this facilitation can be result oriented and successful only when effective governance is ensured. In the era of globalisation, greater emphasis is being laid today on good governance because of the critical link between the state and the global community. The nation states need to reinvent themselves and reframe their development strategy, which requires a thorough revision of their existing approach to international relations and internal governance. As a part of the ongoing administrative reform process, e-governance envisages a structural change in the bureaucracy and is perceived as a key to a more flexible and proactive governance in tune with the concerns of citizen-friendly administration. The present article explores the challenges and prospects of e-governance and tries to delve into the complex socio-cultural dynamics alongside political-bureaucratic initiatives that are crucial factors for the successful transition from traditional governance to the electronic governance. It attempts to situate the ongoing Digital India Mission in the larger context of good governance by examining the case study of the Indian Province of Odisha, where a silent but stunning revolution is taking shape.

Abstract (sommario):
The levels of latrine utilization were lower than the levels of latrine ownership in rural areas owing to certain psycho-social barriers hindering latrine construction and consistent utilization. The study was aimed to identify the proportion of latrine construction and usage and to explore the psychological, socio-cultural and structural factors influencing latrine ownership and utilization. A community-based cross-sectional study was carried out at the four villages of Villupuram district for three months. After IEC clearance, information was collected from a representative sample of 422 households. Direct observation of the latrines was employed along with surveys. The data were entered and analysed in MS Excel. Categorical variables were expressed as frequencies and percentages. Further, the reasons were categorized into psychological, socio-cultural and structural factors. About 54.7% households owned a latrine and among them 46.8% were using it. Psycho-social factors such as convenience, habitual nature, privacy and space constraints in open defecation influenced latrine ownership. Fear of snakes and insects, safety and protection, time saving and proper functioning latrines with availability of water facilitated latrine utilization are of concern. A multi-faceted strategy employing context-specific behaviour change communication along with Government's financial support would improve both latrine construction and utilization.

The CIF is a private, voluntary, non-profit organisation founded in Germany in 1960. CIF consists of National Branches in many countries including New Zealand. A typical exchange programme includes orientation, providing a theoretical framework to the social, economic and cultural trends in the country. Participants, who come from many different countries, make presentations about their work, as well as the socio-economic situation and cultural trends of their own country. This facilitates cultural exchange and sharing of ideas and skills.

Abstract (sommario):
Humans’ aspirations for development have unsustainably placed momentous pressure on the Earth. Peripheral Africa remains the most susceptible region to climate change and its impacts. By considering externality and world-systems theories, this article uses the Delphi external experts (DEE) approach to weigh the perceptions of global (and mostly core) experts regarding climate change response/sustainability. The socio-econo-technological development factors that contribute to Africa’s climate change issues are evaluated. The article concludes that despite the high rankings of the factors related to emissions’ propensity, such as energy and transportation, governance and socio-cultural preferences are the two factors that are statistically significant to climate change and vulnerability to it. The global governance structure fostered by the core countries facilitates unequal exchanges. Notwithstanding, responsive governance structures are advised for the periphery. Governance is analogous to a thermostat that can be used to regulate other development factors, in particular to entrench socio-cultural preferences that may have a desirable future impact on the climate.
