Abstract (sommario):
For most of the colonized nations, the achievement of independence turned an illusion with the perpetuation of disguised imperialism which most of the postcolonial critics have termed as “neocolonialism”. Neocolonialism can be defined as the deliberate and continued survival of the colonial system in independent states by turning them into victims of political, psychological, economic and social domination carried out through subtle means that exclude direct violence. An inspiring advocate for freedom, justice, and human rights for the downtrodden peoples of the world, Kenya’s most celebrated postcolonial writer Ngugi Wa Thiong’o has depicted neocolonialism in many of his fiction and non-fiction works among which the novels A grain of Wheat and Petals of Blood are most influential. This study aims to show the emergence of local elites in the wake of independence in Kenya where white colonizers are replaced with them in order to initiate a new phase of exploitation. By depicting the major characters and their association with the former colonial forces and delineating various aspects of post-independent Kenya, this study will focus on the existence of neo-colonialism and its fatal impacts on the masses as represented in the respective novels. On the basis of the philosophy of neocolonialism by scholars like Frantz Fanon, Kwame Nkrumah and Ngugi himself, this study will also showcase how Ngugi sketches the continuation of classism and the prevalence of bourgeoisies in his novel A Grain of Wheat and Petals of Blood.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Wilhelmina Wittigschlager’s novel, Minna: Wife of the Young Rabbi, published in 1905, serves as a case in point for characterizing a young audacious Jewish female protagonist who, against all odds, by breaking societal conventions and exercising a strong will and remarkable determination, attains individual freedom and struggles for political and social justice This study has yielded some important insights regarding the key role Minna’s multiple racial, religious, and national identities play in the construction of her fictional self. By examining the cultural, historical, and societal influences upon Wittigschlager, as she was in the process of writing the novel, this paper aims at showing how the fictional portrayal of a Jewish defiant female protagonist is interlaced with the factual lifestyles, culture, and representations of some actual contemporary female rebels such as Lucy Parsons, Emma Goldman, and Hesya Gelfman Minna’s Jewishness serves as the central point of her characterization, while the exploration of the pertinent socio-historical, cultural, political, and economic aspects outlines the environment in which her character was conceived

Abstract (sommario):
Literary and cultural texts are essential in shaping emotional and intellectual dispositions toward the human potential for a sustainable transformation of society. Due to its appeal to the human imagination and human empathy, literature can enable readers for sophisticated understandings of social and ecological justice. An overabundance of catastrophic near future scenarios largely prevents imagining the necessary transition toward a socially responsible and ecologically mindful future as a non-violent and non-disastrous process. The paper argues that transition stories that narrate the rebuilding of the world in the midst of crisis are much better instruments in bringing about a human “mindshift” (Göpel) than disaster stories. Transition stories, among them the Parable novels by Octavia Butler and Kim Stanley Robinson’s The Ministry for the Future (2020), offer feasible ideas about how to orchestrate economic and social change. The analysis of recent American, Canadian, British, and German near future novels—both adult and young adult fictions—sheds light on those aspects best suited for effecting behavioral change in recipients’ minds: exemplary ecologically sustainable characters and actions, companion quests, cooperative communities, sources of epistemological innovation and spiritual resilience, and an ethics and aesthetics of repair.

The Object of the Study. Justice as a social phenomenon, a property, and the system-forming side of social relations. The Subject of the Study. Systems aralysing the phenomenon of justice as an objective characteristic of social relations at the theoretic and conceptual levels in the socioeconomic sphere. The Purpose of the Study. The category of justice, its essential, meaningful characteristics in the context of socioeconomic relations. The Main Provisions of the ArticleIn the context of globalization of social processes, the problem of justice has acquired special importance both in theoretical, ideological and practical terms. In the system of socio-economic relations, justice as an objective property of these relations is determined through the socio-philosophical category, which indicates the correspondence of appropriation as a process of securing resources, property, means of production, material goods, services and various types of income for an economic entity or an individual to the results of their activities. At each stage of social development, economic justice has its limits , which are the interests of the state and social groups. The latter dictate their demands for the application of the principles of justice, primarily through decent remuneration for work. As an economic problem, justice is manifested in the form of claims, conditions imposed on the political power about effective taxation and adequate tax burden on the population. But in general, the study of the problems of justice in economic relations is closely related to the need to find more effective options for the development of production and society. On a socially significant scale, socio-economic justice acts as the expediency of the emerging property relations, and their transformation at a certain historical stage. The dynamics of changes in economic relations, the basis of which are property relations, causes changes in the specific meaning of justice in this process

Abstract (sommario):
In the 1970s and early 1980s, discussions of social justice in the social science literature focused largely on social class. The implicit assumption of much of the literature was that a more just society would be achieved through the reduction of inequalities in the distribution of economic and social resources. Since then, there has been a growing focus on plural aspects of social justice. Many writers now distinguish between distributive, cultural and associational aspects of social justice. However, the different implications of these facets of social justice for different groups, and potential tensions between them, have rarely been adequately recognised. Given New Labour's focus on social justice, and its belief that attaining greater social justice is compatible with achieving greater efficiency in the public sector, there is a need to examine more closely the understandings of social justice underpinning a range of policy initiatives.

Abstract: Carlos Barragán Castro's literary works skillfully weave together discussions of natural science with a thoughtful exploration of how the science fiction genre can bring about political and social change in twenty-first-century Colombia. In contrast to the prevailing dystopian themes in Western science fiction, Barragán grounds his ideas in the concept of affective posthumanism. In this framework, individual identity becomes intertwined with a mutually beneficial relationship between species, influenced by new scientific and technological developments. His writing delves into ethical and political aspects, infusing the narratives with thought-provoking considerations of ethics, human rights, and justice in a posthuman setting.

Historically, it has been proved that since the ancient times of existence of human society, since primitive community, there have been not only deviations, but also other forms of excessive behavior through breaking the rules, values and social relations of life where they existed. However, the forms of breaking such behavioral rules and the manner of reaction towards these behaviors have changed during the course of development of human communities in accordance to economic ties and as a result also to those cultural. With time passing and the emergence of classes in societies, as well as due to the influence of economic conditions in the life of all members of organized society within a state, crime became a more massive social phenomenon. Thus, in order to successfully develop the fight against it, within class societies emerged a special instrument: the law through which certain behaviors were regulated.

Three (3) overarching themes were identified that extended through the dialogues and the drama: First, Making sense of the issues, where the students began to talk and make sense of social issues presented in the text such as citizenship, representation and language. Second, Friendship and compassion. Finally, Becoming critical: Understanding the multiple perspectives involved.

Abstract (sommario):
The article completes the series of publications about the nature and essence of the social Christian doctrine. The authors attempted to scientifically comprehend and generalize the features of the development of religious thought in Russia, consider issues of interfaith relations in the post-Soviet space, the ideas of Russian religious thinkers, the influence of social ideas on the spiritual, religious life and worldview in Russia. The article summarizes and answers questions about new knowledge regarding Christian social doctrine, develops the idea of insufficient study and attention on the part of scientists, representatives of the church and statesmen to Christianity as a social phenomenon. In a period of serious trials and the absence of a clear ideology, Christianity as a social institution, absorbing humanistic and moral values, is ready to take on paternalistic, regulating functions between the state and society in the social aspect, in the state aspect, the role of a conductor and mediator in the development of social justice, in the economic aspect – the development of the social aspects of the market economy, in the spiritual and moral aspect – the active dissemination and agitation of the principles of spirituality, moral values and traditions, the humanization of social relations between the individual and society, between public institutions. The article summarizes the conclusions about the similarities and differences between the Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox approaches within the framework of the Christian faith to issues of social justice, human rights, freedom of choice, including economic activity and entrepreneurship, as well as similarities, common origins and points of contact with social, liberal and socialist doctrines. Practical recommendations and guidelines are given for the popularization of Christian social teaching and the dissemination of its educational and humanitarian functions.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractThis essay examines the recent rise in popularity of science fiction in Africa. I argue that this growth can be traced to key shifts within the logic of structural adjustment programs. Over the last twenty years, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have begun to place a heightened emphasis on “poverty reduction strategies” (or PRSs). These PRSs have taken the two organizations’ longstanding commitment to free-market policies and adapted them to the rhetoric of social and economic justice by suggesting that “sustainable” welfare programs can only be constructed through the “long-term” benefits of well-planned “institutions.”As I show, this vision of long-term development has encouraged a move toward fictional forms capable of speaking to elongated temporal scales. Using Nnedi Okorafor’s novelLagoonas my primary example, I investigate how sci-fi narratives have struggled to represent social agency within thelongue duréeof institutional planning.

Abstract (sommario):
The article is devoted to the problem of the dialectic of research and regulation of the social sphere as the basis of fair distribution relations. The problem of justice is a phenomenon that reflects the nature of social relations in modern conditions, the process of formation and development of a model of social behavior of various social communities, groups and individuals. Based on the experience of social practice, the authors highlight the regularity of the dialectics of interaction between social and economic spheres, and argue that the positive dynamics of economic indicators observed in recent years in modern Russia can be a regulator of social justice through the improvement of the mechanism and level of social protection of individuals. Today, the issue of social protection of underprivileged sections of the community amid modernization is becoming relevant. It is already becoming clear that this process is complex and painful, and this is not only due to organizational obstacles. It must be imagined that the real state of the social structure is characterized by many retirement-age, disabled and low qualified people. All this actualizes social protection of the population in the process of modernization. This is an important part of ensuring real social justice that exists in a civilized society. Based on this, such a direction can and should be considered as a factor able to mitigate conflicts and contradictions. Due to its universality and diversity, the problem of justice includes philosophical, sociological, and psychological aspects. At the same time, the underlying causes of social justice violation and the real mechanisms for its restoration should be found in the economic sphere.

Abstract (sommario):
The article is devoted to the search for conceptual solutions to the problem of ensuring sustainable economic growth in the new unstable economic conditions. This topic remains extremely relevant in the modern world, where various challenges are faced, such as climate change, resource depletion, population growth, increased social inequality and other problems. The authors explore the evolution of the concept of sustainable development, highlighting various essential aspects of understanding the category of sustainability. In different time periods, climate change and environmental challenges, social justice and efficiency, global cooperation and risk management, digitalization and technological innovation have consistently been at the center of the problem of sustainable development. As a result, strategies to reduce the negative impact on the environment and adapt to climate change have been replaced by strategies of green technologies, which, in turn, have been replaced by strategies of international cooperation and coordination of actions by all members of society to solve global problems of our time. The authors prove the importance of considering not only environmental, but also social aspects when developing sustainable development strategies to ensure social justice and improve the quality of life of all segments of society. In conclusion, the authors conclude that risk management related to economic instability, environmental changes and other factors requires new strategies for sustainable development, which in turn is impossible without effective public management, public involvement, and informed decision-making.

Abstract (sommario):
With the recent surge of mob justice in South Africa, this paper investigates whether recourse to mob justice serves a legitimate purpose and especially whether it serves justice or falls within the conceptual meaning of justice. In so doing, the paper undertook a literature review in view first to identify the possible causes of mob justice and whether or not mob justice serves a legitimate purpose in society. The literature reveals that mob justice aims to ensure security and maintain social order due to state inefficiency to provide security to its citizens. Mob justice becomes a mechanism of social control, policing, and society’s expression that the criminal justice system has failed. However, the paper could not find any related literature on the question whether mob justice falls within the philosophical concept of justice. It finds that the current discourse on mob justice literature focuses on the social and economic aspects of mob justice, delving into the possible reasons behind the attacks, or the legal aspects of mob justice. The paper is therefore relevant as its objective is to determine whether mob justice meets the conceptual meaning of justice and if there is a place for such conduct within a constitutional society. The paper found that mob justice falls short of the philosophical understanding of justice and is no more than injustice. It recommends a policy shift in the form of community involvement in policing.

Abstract (sommario):
In recent decades, environmental justice has become a defining concept in socio-spatial inequality research, political debates, and activism. Environmental justice research, which is essentially based on theories of social and spatial justice and providesa normative framework for thinking, focuses on the unequal distribution of environmental harms and risks and their social consequences. Environmental justice research aims to explore the economic, social, health, and legal differences that individuals and groups face in their environment as a result of environmental processes, decision making, power relations, and law enforcement practices. This is largely related to the subjective perception of individuals and the perception of injustices by different actors. In the vast majority of environmental justice studies, spatiality provides a framework for interpreting and understanding environmentally unjust situations and processes. Environmental justice is therefore not only a natural, but also a socially dependent phenomenon, in which the key element is nevertheless the non-human factor (e.g. environmental events such as floods), which affects individuals and groups indifferent ways. As a result, an environmentally unjust state and situation may occur. The evolved injustices also interact with inherited spatial inequalities, existing socioeconomic systems, and the institutional structures that originally shape them. This paper summarizes the theoretical framework of environmental justice in geography and spatial sciences. The study adapts the theory of justice to post-socialist and Hungarian specificities and forms of environmental injustice, and examines decision-making processes and the perception of risks. In Hungary social problems and differences have been increasing in recent decades, and marginalisation and polarisation processes have added new spatial patterns to existing inequalities, directly and indirectly affecting environmental processes as well. Attempts at eliminating environmental injustices have resulted in new injustices, or deepened existing ones, due to the lack of a complex socio-environmental spatial approach of interventions. The solution to these injustices presupposes the effective and meaningful involvement of the affected people in policy-making and implementation processes, regardless of gender, age, origin, identity, or income. Otherwise, the unjust situation will persist and crisis areas affected by environmental injustices may develop.

Psychologists have studied certain elements of wellness, and various aspects of fairness, but they have seldom studied the interaction between the two. As a result, it is not surprising that there is a paucity of educational, community, clinical and social interventions to promote wellness and fairness in concert. In this paper I present a framework of justice consisting of substantive and contextual types. Distributive and procedural justice constitute the two main types of justice. Interpersonal, organizational, cultural and communal justice are contextual types which embed within them the two substantive aspects of justice. I explore how these various kinds of justice impact human development across six facets of well-being: interpersonal, communal, occupational, physical, psychological and economic. I claim that for children and adults to achieve optimal human development, these facets of well-being must be supported by various types of justice.

Abstract (sommario):
In his Bottlenecks: A New Theory of Equal Opportunity, Joseph Fishkin claims he presents an entirely new way of thinking about equality of opportunity. The core of the new theory is the call for opportunity pluralism, which consists in enlarging the range of opportunities available to people at every stage in life. In this essay, we discuss how successful Fishkin is at shaking the way economists think about equality of opportunity. We identify two aspects of Fishkin's theory that deeply conflict with economic theories of equality of opportunity. Those aspects have to do with the way economists interpret the ethical values of respect for preferences and responsibility. We also argue that the way Fishkin suggests to look at opportunities can help economists fill gaps in the way they define well-being and social justice. (JEL A13, D63, I31).

Abstract (sommario):
The article deals with the problems of conceptualizing the European historical studies. The special role of a stage by stage solution in a so-called «social approach» on the way to all-rounded humanization of state-forming strategies of European nations and of the system of European international relations in general is being underlined. The emphasis is laid on the historical role of the common European values. It is also accentuated that decisive factor to achieve success in joining the space of European unity is in integrity of understanding the ideals of Freedom and Justice. Since internal and external components of European freedom and justice are so closely intertwined, their separate interpretation, in author’s opinion, has no epistemological perspective whatsoever. The stable economic prosperity and social progress are becoming more dependent on the global economic situation. At the same time, social protection of citizens in a number of countries, as well as the authority thereof in the contemporary world fully depends on the moral and ethic maturity of the elites, the level of confidence in society, the general level of culture and the rate of individual responsibility of citizens for their future. The issues abovementioned acquire special meaning under the modern-day circumstances of sharpening the geopolitical competition concerning Ukraine. The contemporary financial and migration crisis of the EU only enhances the influence of the social factor on the collective consciousness of «old» and «new» Europeans, frequently engendering rather dangerous tendencies in European life.

Abstract (sommario):
Social justice is a form of aspiration within a country or religion. Achieving social justice is not an easy task and is often difficult to attain. In reality, the current state of society is perceived as not having achieved equitable justice, especially in economic, educational, employment, and other aspects. Nurcholish Madjid, as a religious and national thinker, is concerned with issues of life, including religion, nationalism, and social justice. It is therefore necessary to understand Nurcholish Madjid's thoughts on social justice in Indonesian society and what needs to be done to achieve a just life. The research method is conducted by collecting data related to the discussion taken from journals or articles related to social justice. The research found that the lives of people, especially in Indonesia, have not been evenly distributed in terms of economy, education, and employment. Therefore, there is a need for cooperation between society and the state to achieve a just life in nation-building. Fundamentally, the state plays a crucial role in ensuring social justice for its people. Social justice means the absence of differences or discrimination in living. Nurcholish Madjid also states that the role of youth is crucial in making changes in the present and future. Any form of discrimination, coercion, and others can disrupt the principles of community life. As religious communities, we should not only focus on worship but also on the social aspects of religion because every religion teaches goodness. Discrimination and other forms of differences will only divide society and make it increasingly difficult to achieve social justice.

Abstract (sommario):
Just over twenty years ago, the Kyoto Protocol brought nations together to address the emergent issue of climate change. To support the development of energy policy, a number of academic fields were strengthened, particularly surrounding sustainable development and the economic, environmental, and social aspects of sustainability. This research focuses on the social aspects of energy policy, beginning with climate justice, through to the emergence of energy justice and the notion of a just transition. Through a bibliometric analysis of 5529 academic studies incorporating energy policy and social equity across relevant academic fields, strong ties among five distinct schools of thought were identified. Interestingly, energy transitions scholarship appears distinct from most social equity and energy justice related scholarship. There is a need to better integrate disparate schools of thought in order to achieve a just transitions framework able to address inequities in energy policy outcomes in the Paris Agreement era and beyond.

Abstract (sommario):
The author assesses the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union (the Court) in which the European business freedoms collide with national labour law. The approach of the Court will be scrutinised with the aim of discovering the extent to which the Court encroaches upon the Member States’ autonomy in the field of labour law. This topic became popular directly after the landmark decisions in Viking and Laval of December 2007. Both cases addressed conflicts that were related to socio-economic diversity in the European Union following the enlargements. In the end, the Court decided where the balance between the conflicting economic and social values had to be struck and, by doing so, did not grant any room of discretion to the Member States. Since then, the freedom of establishment and the freedom to provide services have obtruded themselves into the sphere of national labour law. The Court has broadened its jurisdiction in the socio-economic field not only in cross-border situations but also in internal situations via its interpretation of social policy Directives by virtue of Article 16 CFREU. The research shows that the Court is assessing the legitimacy of restrictions imposed by national labour law in seemingly different distinguishable ways since 2007. Although the Court does not seem to aspire to a uniform labour law system throughout the European Union, its approach applied in Viking and Laval cannot be considered a thing of the past. Due to poor reasoning, it is not clear when and where the Court draws the line. Since its rulings cannot readily (or even at all) be subject to political review, the ensuing legal uncertainty leads to anxiety about the Court being the ultimate decider in the socio-economic field.

Abstract (sommario):
The problem of techno-economic approaches to evaluating energy transition pathways has been constantly reported in the literature. Existing research recognises the critical role played by social aspects in energy systems models. System dynamics (SD) has been pointed out among modelling techniques as a suitable tool to evaluate the interdisciplinary nature of energy transitions. This paper explores how energy system-related SD models have incorporated social aspects through a literature review. Models were assessed based on their geographical resolution, time horizon, methodological approach, and main themes: supply-demand, energy-economy-environment (3E), energy-transport, water-energy-food (WEF) nexus, and consumer-centric and socio-political dynamics. Social aspects considered include behaviour and lifestyle changes, social acceptance, willingness to participate, socio-economic measures, among others. As expected, the representation of social aspects was not standard among the papers analysed. Socio-economic aspects were most commonly included in supply-demand and 3E models. Energy-transport and WEF models mainly incorporated changes in travel and consumption habits, respectively. The last theme had a more diverse approach to social aspects that deserves further attention, especially for energy access and justice issues. Other research lines include modelling approaches combination, enhanced participatory and transparent processes during model development, and use of SD models in policy-aiding and stakeholders’ information processes.

Abstract (sommario):
Globalization, an outgrowth of technology, while informing us about people throughout the world, also raises our awareness of the extreme economic and social disparities that exist among nations. As part of a global discipline, nurses are vitally interested in reducing and eliminating disparities so that better health is achieved for all people. Recent literature in nursing encourages our discipline to engage more actively with social justice issues. Justice in health care is a major commitment of nursing; thus questions in the larger sphere of globalization, justice and ethics, are our discipline's questions also. Global justice, or fairness, is not an issue for some groups or institutions, but a deeper human rights issue that is a responsibility for everyone. What can we do to help reduce or eliminate the social and economic disparities that are so evident? What kind of ethical milieu is needed to address the threat that globalization imposes on justice and fairness? This article enriches the conceptualization of globalization by investigating recent work by Schweiker and Twiss. In addition, I discuss five qualities or characteristics that will facilitate the development of a viable and just global ethic. A global ethic guides all people in their response to human rights and poverty. Technology and business, two major forces in globalization that are generally considered beneficial, are critiqued as barriers to social justice and the common good. To turn human nature into humanity and righteousness is like turning the willow into cups and bowls. The book of Mencius

Abstract (sommario):
In an era of rapid scientific and technological progress, the concept of sustainable development has become an important framework for addressing the multifaceted problems of resource scarcity, environmental degradation and social inequality. This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the evolution, principles and practical application of the concept of sustainable development, emphasising the interconnectedness of its three main dimensions: environmental, economic and social. The paper explores the integrity of the concept of sustainable development in different dimensions. The goal of the study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the evolution, principles and practical application of the concept of sustainable development, emphasising the interconnectedness of environmental, social and economic aspects and their impact on sustainable development. The concept of sustainable development has evolved from early forestry practices to a broader encompassing of environmental, social and economic aspects. The concept gained prominence in the 20th century with the Club of Rome report and the Rio Earth Summit, leading to the widespread adoption of sustainable development as a guiding principle for global development. Central to sustainable development is the idea of meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The article identifies three traditional components of sustainable development: environmental, social and economic, and explores their interrelationship. Environmental sustainability focuses on the responsible use of natural resources and pollution management. Economic sustainability emphasises the importance of long-term economic stability and growth, while social sustainability addresses issues of equality, social justice, well-being and quality of life. The intersection of these pillars shows how integrated approaches can contribute to a resilient, equitable and livable environment. The publication highlights the role of sustainable development goals and standards in various areas. By harmonising environmental, economic and social goals, sustainable development offers a pathway to a resilient and prosperous global society. This holistic approach is essential to ensure the well-being of present and future generations in an increasingly interconnected world. The article emphasises the need for coordinated efforts at the local, national and global levels.

The article analyzes idealistic views on the phenomenon of "civil society". The authors emphasize that civil society is a society of justice and civil consensus, where each citizen is guaranteed civil, political and socio-economic rights and explores the basic features (features) of civil society. First, it is a society of justice. The next major feature is civic consent, that is, the establishment of a new social order through dialogue and spiritual and political consensus.According to the authors, human rights are guaranteed in every democratically organized society, and the state claiming to be legal has no right, but is obliged in its legislation to foresee and actually guarantee by legal and other means those rights which are due to the state recognitions acquire the character of subjective legal rights. As a result of the adoption of international standards by states, the very concept of a person and in domestic law becomes legal and designates citizens of that state, as well as foreigners and stateless persons who reside in its territory. And human rights are those rights that belong to every person regardless of their nationality. The authors conclude that no sharp and insurmountable boundary can be drawn between human rights and citizens' rights. Human rights are a social category. They are formed objectively as a result of the development and improvement of social production and the system of public administration of society in the form of social opportunities to enjoy various economic, political and spiritual benefits, and exist before their state recognition. And citizens' rights are those human rights that are under the protection and protection of the state.

Islamic banking, with principles based on Islamic law, has developed rapidly and become an important part of the global financial system. In the last few decades, Islamic banking has not only been seen as an alternative to conventional banking, but also as an instrument that can make a significant contribution to sustainable economic development. Sharia principles such as the prohibition of riba (interest), maisir (speculation), and gharar (uncertainty) as well as a commitment to social justice and general welfare provide a strong foundation for promoting a sustainable and inclusive economy. This research describes the challenges and opportunities of Islamic banking in realizing sustainable economic development in the form of writing based on literature studies carried out by finding secondary data obtained from literature studies carried out. In expressing the challenges and opportunities of sharia banking in realizing sustainable economic development, it is carried out using the concept of sustainable economic development by looking at three aspects, namely social aspects, economic aspects and environmental aspects.

The Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), as an integral part of the Arab and Islamic worlds, share many of the same traditions of dispute resolution as other countries in the region, important aspects of which can be traced back to the pre-Islamic era. Nevertheless, the singular history of Palestine and the Palestinians has necessarily made its mark on these common traditions. This contribution is therefore an opportunity to discuss some peculiarities of the Palestinian Sulha system that has emerged over the last decades, in the wake of drastic and unsettling transformations in the Palestinian reality. Ultimately, one cannot discuss this issue without an understanding of the effect that the ongoing 38 year-old military occupation has had on the very fabric of the society, on the social, political and economic levels, and the internal politics that ensue.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper explores the dynamics of Mizo Christian revival spirituality in North East India during British colonialization, examining its interactions with primal religious consciousness and its impact on social justice. It challenges the perception that Mizo revival spirituality is disembodied and otherworldly, emphasizing its deep-rooted connection to socio-cultural aspects. By considering its relationship with primal religion, the paper reveals the social implications of Mizo revival spirituality. It explores how the yearning for heaven within the revival movement relates to socio-economic liberation in present life, particularly in the context of Mizo primal eschatology. Additionally, it investigates the influence of revival spirituality on the liberation of slaves (bawi) and famine relief efforts. Furthermore, it highlights how the revival spirituality itself operated as a liberating force, freeing the Mizo community from the constraints of Western Christian cultural hegemony. This paper underscores the significance of Mizo revival spirituality in creating a third space that integrates elements of Christianity and primal religion, contributing to a transformative paradigm for social change in North East India.

The article examines the concept and essence of an inclusive economy, highlights the main scientific and practical approaches and existing methods for assessing the level of inclusiveness of the country’s development. Having highlighted the ubiquity of this concept and its involvement in all aspects of the development of society, it is proved that there is no objective assessment that would fully reflect the level of inclusive economic development. However, unresolved contradictions of current market relations are a sure prerequisite for solving social issues of society through the proclamation of inclusive principles, which include such aspects as: economic growth, social integration, social justice, etc. In conclusion, it is concluded that the principles of an inclusive economy are rather guidelines for the development of society than an objective model of its development.

This paper argues that integrating the inequality perspective into Environmental Economic Geography (EEG) and trying to disentangle the manifold interrelationships between economic, social, and environmental disadvantage could be worthwhile efforts. Based on three case studies – the debate on urban environmental justice in German cities, the spread of alternative food systems and food-sharing initiatives in Germany, and the socially selective migration in hazard prone areas in rural coastal Bangladesh – we demonstrate that aspects of social inequality indeed matter for EEG thinking.

Abstract (sommario):
Islamic economics is an economic system that is a minority used in the world compared to other economic systems. Islam is a comprehensive religion and governs all aspects of life including economics. Islamic economics aims to create economic schemes that refer to Islamic principles, such as social justice, balance, avoiding usury, and sustainable growth. The economic sources of sharia come from the Quran, as Sunnah or al Hadith, the history of Islamic society, and empirical data. The state has an important role in supporting and regulating Islamic economic practices through appropriate regulations and policies. The state and the Islamic economy have the same interest in creating social justice, economic stability, and public welfare. The relationship between religion and state also affects the development of a country's sharia economy. In Indonesia, the government has supported the implementation of the sharia economy through various regulations and policies such as the Sharia Banking Law. With the right support from the state, the Islamic economy is expected to develop faster and provide benefits to the community.

AbstractAlthough the federal government and several state governments have recognized that structural discrimination limits less privileged groups’ ability to be healthy, the measures adopted to eliminate health disparities do not address structural discrimination. Historical and modern-day structural discrimination in employment has limited racial and ethnic minority individuals’ economic conditions by segregating them to low wage jobs that lack benefits, which has been associated with health disparities. Health justice provides a community-driven approach to transform the government’s efforts to eliminate health disparities, by acknowledging the problem of structural discrimination; empowering less privileged groups to create and implement structural change; and providing support to redress harm.

Abstract (sommario):
In modern world, full of conflicts, social inequality, and cultural diversity, understanding justice is becoming a crucial task. The purpose of this study was to thoroughly investigate the concepts of justice in different traditions of philosophy to reveal the diversity and common features of understanding this concept. For this, the study employed a combination of methods of literary analysis and comparative analysis, followed by an interpretation of the concepts of justice in different cultures and religious traditions, as well as the historical method of research. The study resulted in the coverage of various concepts of justice in different traditions of philosophy, from antiquity to modernity, including the contributions of such prominent philosophers as Plato, Aristotle, Rousseau, Kant, and others. Furthermore, the study noted the significance of investigating social, economic, legal, and global justice as key aspects of modern society, which helps to identify ways to create a more just and equitable world. Economic justice was defined as a principle that provides equal access to economic resources and opportunities for all members of society. Social justice, as it turned out, has many dimensions, including equality of opportunity, distribution of resources and recognition of the dignity of every person. As for legal justice, the study showed that it is based on the principles of equality before the law, the right to defence and fair trial. Finally, global equity was considered as a principle that implies equality of participation and influence at the international level, as well as a responsible attitude towards global issues such as poverty, inequality, and climate change. The findings of this study can be used in academic circles to further analyse the concepts of justice, expand the theoretical understanding of the essence of justice, and its impact on various spheres of society, and can be used in educational institutions to teach students of philosophy, sociology, law, and other fields that study the principles of justice and their historical development

Abstract (sommario):
The article considers the conceptual basis of redistribution as an economic phenomenon that occurs at different levels of the economic system (household, market, state). The types of redistributive effects are determined: market redistribution (provided by the price mechanism) and public redistribution (formed as a result of the functioning of the public sphere). Key attention is paid to social redistribution, which proposes to distinguish between fiscal (carried out through the system of public finance through taxation, transfers) and non-fiscal (arising from government actions that affect the functioning of the market). The links between public redistribution and views on justice have been explored. Philosophical and moral-ethical aspects of public redistribution are considered. Attention is paid to the criteria of redistributive justice. Some provisions of the theory of public finance on the interpretation of the phenomenon of social redistribution are revealed. It is noted that consideration of the conceptual foundations of public redistribution requires a philosophical vision of justice, consideration of the procedural aspects of finding a political compromise in a modern democratic society, as well as an assessment of the economic effects associated with redistribution. It is noted that for a clear understanding of the overall effect of redistribution processes it is necessary to simultaneously analyze the efficiency of market exchange, the perfection of mechanisms of primary distribution of income by the market and the direction of fiscal redistribution and transfer policy through the public finance system. The lack of unambiguous criteria for ensuring redistributive justice is emphasized. This necessitates the widespread application of the criterion of injustice. The need to realize the importance of recognizing inequality as a methodological principle of economic functioning is pointed out. It is noted that this will contribute to a more rational formulation of normative goals and priorities of the state redistributive policy in applied research of public finance.

Abstract (sommario):
ABSTRACT This study examined the relationships between elements of the budgetary process (budgetary participation, the use of budgetary goals for performance assessments, and the use of budgetary goals for variable remuneration purposes), budgetary slack, and perceptions of justice, on the assumption that budgetary slack is an antecedent of perceptions of justice and acts as an intervening variable between elements of the budgetary process and perceptions of justice. Studies addressing the relationship between justice and slack have not considered the positive aspects derived from budgetary slack such as necessary and emergency resources. Moreover, most of these studies have focused on procedural justice and on an element of the budgetary process (budgetary participation), to predict feelings of justice and the creation of slack. The results of the study suggest alternative conceptions for analyzing the relationship between perceptions of justice and budgetary slack, going beyond the economic lens for the latter. By resorting to social exchange theory (SET), a perspective is provided on how elements of the budgetary process affect managers’ perceptions of justice and how budgetary slack, as an economic and social exchange resource, shapes those effects. Although researchers have already pointed to budgetary slack as being beneficial for the organization, no studies were found that have analyzed it as a predictor of perceptions of justice. A survey was conducted with a sample of 114 company managers and the hypotheses were tested with the application of structural equation modeling. The results reveal that budgetary slack is an inherent element of the budgetary process, conceived as an economic and socioemotional resource, according to the principles of SET, and used by organizations with a view to greater perceptions of justice. Budgetary slack is essential for predicting managers’ feelings of distributive and procedural justice regarding the budgetary process.

Abstract (sommario):
Considering economic inequality as a vulnerability, both in economic and social terms, the paper discusses, with the help of the two Rawlsian principles of difference (negative case - increase in economic inequality, positive case - decrease in economic inequality), nuances of the acceptability or unacceptability of any changes in it. The paper is structured in two sections, the context section, which presents the basic concepts and details of the difference principle in managing the growth of economic inequality, and a discussion section, which examines two aspects: a critical evaluation of the originary difference principle and a new (related) difference principle that can manage, from a social justice perspective, the decline of economic inequality in society. The last part of the paper includes results, conclusions and some future research directions.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper addresses the problem of allocating 30 unclaimed items to researchers in a fair manner. Five definitions of fairness are derived, considering philosophical, social, and economic aspects. A quantitative evaluation system is established to measure fairness. The allocation is then evaluated using this system. Foundational models, based on zero-one integer linear programming, are developed for each definition. Social interactions between researchers are incorporated into the models, including competition, collaboration, and an auction model. The second section introduces the concept of item relationships, as the value of items can be enhanced when certain items are possessed together. Matrices are used to represent these relationships, making the model more applicable to real-world situations. Sensitivity analysis is conducted to assess the accuracy of each model. The coding implements linear programming and analysis, presenting the results in various visual forms. After refining the model, distributions are calculated using different models and compared. The model is then applied to distribute items among five researchers, and multiple fairness assessments are conducted based on different definitions. The results indicate that, out of four definitions (sixteen in total), two are fair, one is relatively fair, and one is unfair. In conclusion, this paper utilizes linear programming to evaluate fairness in allocation scenarios. The model is refined with adjustments such as mutual interactions, auctions, item interdependencies, and relationships. It provides a comprehensive assessment of fairness and offers practical insights for decision-makers when addressing allocation issues, not only for this particular problem but also for similar situations in society.

Abstract (sommario):
This is an interdisciplinary study of the role of culture in the development of Nigeria as a nation. The essay raises questions, among which are: what are the externalized and internalized aspects of Nigerian national culture? Which innate concepts of this culture do contemporary Nigerians understand and which concepts are grasped or misunderstood by foreigners? Russian and Nigerian literary works – Nikolai Gogol's and Chinua Achebe's, to mention but two – are utilized to determine similarity and dissimilarity of the pervasive nature of materialism in two different cultures. The essay finds philistine the platitude of Nigerian cultural managers inherent in such externalized cultural fiestas as FESTAC '77 and Nigerian Carnivals, while the more beneficial one, the internalized aspects which we call the fundamental culture, are merely mulled over, wholly misjudged, and mostly left unexplored. The essay finds, furthermore, that development can only be strengthened when the internalized aspects of Nigerian traditional societies are understood and synthesized with modern hybrid cultures before human development can take place. The essay makes no pretence to being a specialist study; rather, it crosses the borders of fiction, the social sciences, cultural anthropology, and history.
