Abstract (sommario):
This study aimed to investigate the languages used in shop signs in three different areas in Semenyih, Selangor, Malaysia. Using a mixed-method approach, this paper identified the preferred language for shop signs in the town of Semenyih, Pelangi Semenyih, and Setia Ecohill, as well as examined the relationship between the language choice in signages and linguistic landscape in Malaysia. A total of 180 signboards was photographed to ensure the impartiality of data collection, and they were coded based on four aspects: full names of the shops in various languages, the business scope of the shops, the number of languages used in shop signs, size of the scripts, and layout of languages highlighted, adopted from the study of Shang and Guo (2017). Questionnaires and interviews with the shop owners were also employed to elicit information about their preferences regarding the language choice for their shop signages, which shed light on the impact of the development in Semenyih towards the choice of shop signages. The findings revealed that, despite the regulations imposed by the local city council (Majlis Perbandaran Kajang (MPKJ) or Kajang Municipal Town Council) on the permissible shop signages, the shop owners still used languages other than the Malay language in their signboards, such as English, Mandarin, and Tamil, with English being the most dominant one. This indicates that, as the towns develop, the linguistic landscape here changes with importance being given to signboards in English compared to Malay.

Abstract (sommario):
The article deals with the study of the semiotic opportunities of the urban space as a learning tool. The authors analyze the literature on urban research and point to the significant interest of the education system in various manifestations of urban life: architectural, design, environmental, adaptational, etc. The notion of “city” in numerous studies usually means an environment full of different natural objects and structures. The latter should include houses, sculptural and architectural monuments, specially organized urban space, for example, the city center and its peripheral area marked with certain signs. Researchers insist that a city is a complex semiotic space in which a citizen lives and navigates. Various types of signs are actively involved in the organization of urban life (Ch. Peirce). Thus, iconic signs make it easy to navigate the city without resorting to decoding symbolic signs, i.e. without reading the signs and names of, for example, stores: a boot hanging next to the signboard allows one to determine that the citizen is in front of a shoe store. A child navigates such signs easily, however, participating in orienting activities on par with adults. The purpose of this article is to consider the city learning opportunities for helping young children to form the semiotic activity which is included in various types of educational activities. The novelty of the research presented in the article is confirmed by the lack of scientific publications that directly consider the educational opportunities of urban space semiotics. The main research method is the code reconstruction method. The figure of a child plays an important role in the study. The child acts as the central subject of perception of the city-textbook. Following the idea of the most prominent researchers of semiotics, the authors regard the city as a text for a child to read. The analytical part of the article is based on recording children’s impressions of the urban text.

Abstract (sommario):
The purpose of this study is to propose a realistic improvement plan specialized in the business area based on the problems derived from the survey results to improve the brand image of cafes without signs. As there is a lack of prior research related to the absence of signboards, this study was conducted on all cafe brands without signboards without clearly selecting a specific cafe brand. As a result of the survey, most of the consumers who visit cafes without signboards receive brand-related information such as cafe photos, reviews, and locations through social media, and social media compensates for the inconvenience that may arise due to the absence of signboards. In particular, social media showed the possibility of being used as an effective tool to effectively deliver brand images to various customers, including the younger generation. However, the result of the satisfaction survey of cafes without signboards showed a rather low score of 3.06 (5-point Likert scale, 1-very low, 5-very high), and it was found that improvement was needed in various aspects. Accordingly, an additional survey was conducted to identify shortcomings and suggest five improvement plans to improve the brand image.

Abstract (sommario):
The study appeals to two works on Moscow sign boards: F. Distribuendi’s brochure and S. Krzhizhanovsky’s essay were aimed at examining the authors’ final conclusions and visions of both the imperial and soviet in conceptual form, rather than an ideological marker of chronological time of analysis of street sign boards in Moscow. The maximum coverage of the components of each of the stories about the decoration of sign boards guaranteed the presentation of these authorized stories as a completed narrative complex, which excludes the possibility of involving these works in premature, external to the consistent course of each of these stories, comparison. An analysis of Distribuendi’s narrative complex of Moscow signs showed that the continuing deterioration in the artistic level of ordinary signboards could not preserve the legendary history of their origins and preserve the possibility of reviews of these signboards as a new historical monument.A possible reform of the design of signboards in the form of unified completed forms is hindered not by the lack of calculations but only by the lack of omnipotent desire. F. Distribuendi’s vision of the desire for the final basis of the reform in the design of signboards connects this reform to all previous reforms in the empire, which were implemented only by the power and makes the whole narrative complex of Distribuendi’s work an organic imperial vision. Analysis of the narrative complex of S. Krzhizhanovsky’s essay on Moscow signs made it possible to identify a certain core in it, which streamlines the analysis of the presence of signboards in the city. This core was the vision of capturing the signboards of visual attention and memory of the average person as result of the organization of thinking in a pattern. The last option of thinking can level the sense of difference between people and everyday phenomena. Therefore, the liberation of sight and attention of the sign, an instruction of Soviet institutions from the performances of symbolic signs as the most powerful pattern of hunting for the buyer, was proposed to study further, but under the Soviet vision: transmission of knowledge about the final victory over thinking in patterns on sign boards to new generations.

Abstract (sommario):
Real Work Lectures (KKN) are a concrete manifestation of students' duties to fulfill life skills with the guidance of lecturers. One of the aims of the KKN program carried out in Kerumut Village is to create street name boards which are an important means of providing information about the location and names of streets in an area. There are no street signs yet, which makes it difficult for outsiders to find locations in the area. KKN STKIP and STEI Hamzar East Lombok students have planned a solution to overcome this problem by making directional signs, especially in Kerumut Village. The method used is direct partner solution, namely making road signs which include 8 signboards, with the size of each board being 50 cm x 30 cm. After completing the plaque making, it was continued with painting which was then continued with the installation of the board which was carried out by students and assisted by the local community. Installation of signboards includes signs for village officials' houses, directional signs to important places as well as signs for RT and RW area boundaries in Kerumut Village. Activities carried out in 4 hamlets, namely Toron hamlet, Gubuk Daya hamlet, Benteng hamlet and Dasan Lendang hamlet, were carried out well with the support and assistance of the village residents. There were no significant obstacles in the process of preparation, implementation and evaluation of activities, it's just that the process took a long time. Making and installing road signs or plaques is a form of participation, coordination and active involvement of students, lecturers and local village residents.

Abstract (sommario):
The social interest in outdoor advertising signs, which have been recognized as an important element affecting impressions of a town, has been gradually increasing. However, when these signs are fully scattered around commercial areas, an oppressive feeling may be experienced by people, which cannot be neglected. Thus, this paper attempts to identify the characteristics of such visual oppression in urban landscapes through factor analysis, aiming to control them in such a way that does not oppress people. In addition, comparisons between Japanese and foreign nationals (i.e., foreign students from the Republic of Korea and the People’s Republic of China) were carried out, in order to check for any differences in perception of oppressive feelings depending on nationality. At the same time, to check for the possibility of different levels of perception depending on nationality, 20 Japanese and 20 foreign nationals (including Koreans and Chinese) were selected as test subjects. We expect this study to provide useful research material when reviewing the possibility of creating desirable urban landscapes or establishing guidelines for outdoor advertisements. For the research, landscape pictures focusing on outdoor advertising signs (15 wall, 6 roof-top, and 6 projection advertising signs) were taken as a sample for analysis. They were then presented in a 3D cyberdome for factor analysis, focusing on an impression evaluation test in relation to oppressive feelings. In addition, among the data obtained from the sample analysis, “Proportion,” which was considered to be the most influential factor on the oppressive feeling, was studied. The correlation coefficient between these two populations was 0.918, revealing a high level of correlation; thus, all subjects were treated as a single population. The factor analysis revealed 50.87% for the first factor (Evaluation), 25.39% for the second factor (capacity), and 9.47% for the third factor (Emotion), suggesting a relationship wherein the first factor decreased when the oppressive feeling increased; while the oppressive feeling increased along with the second factor.

Abstract (sommario):
The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence algorithms have sharpened the focus on street signs due to their prevalence. Some street signs have consistent shapes and pre-defined colors and fonts, such as traffic signs while others are characterized by their visual variability like shop signboards. This variations create a complicated challenge for AI-based systems to classify them. In this paper, the annotation of the ShoS dataset were extended to include more attributes for shop classification. Then, two classifiers were trained and tested utilizing the extended ShoS dataset. SVM showed great performance as its F1-score reached 89.33\%. The classification performance was compared with human performance, and the results showed that our classifier excelled over human performance by about 15\%. The results were discussed, so the factors that affect classification were provided for further enhancement.

Abstract (sommario):
The paper presents a fragment of a research in the framework of up-to-date linguistic branch – onomastics, and deals with ergonyms based on visualization of different type. Linguistic landscape forms the material for the research as it reflects the developing language. The aim of the investigation was to analyze visualization-based ergonyms. The first stage of the research was to collect ergonyms on busy streets of central Moscow using continuous sampling method. 2700 units were found and sorted out according to the visualization means, such as pictograms, bright font, supragraphemic, capitalization, syntactic game, codographisation, paragraphemic signs, numerals. Besides it was found out what commercial enterprises’ nominations are mostly attractive to the citizens and which of them evoke positive, neutral or negative attitude. To meet the goal 90 respondents from various age groups were surveyed. The results obtained were systemized with the help of statistical analysis’ elements. It was stated that the most positive estimations were given to ergonyms with pictograms, the same units were claimed to be the most attractive. Bright signboards especially in yellow colour gained more positive remarks. Young people prefer laconic signboards more than the seniors do. Respondents of elder age tend to estimate ergonyms with codographisation rather negatively. Results obtained can be the base for signboards’ authors’ recommendations aimed at different age groups of potential consumers. Moreover, the data has some potential to be used in teaching several theoretical and practical disciplines, such as sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, linguaculturology, fundamentals of cross-cultural communication, professional and cross-cultural communication practicums, etc.

Abstract The characteristics of linguistic landscape are significantly impacted by the legal status of a language in question. Not all Slovak settlements in Hungary equally exploit the opportunities provided by law. Public space is a constantly transforming phenomenon which is in continuous motion; therefore, research in linguistic landscape always reflects a certain state or moment. Signboards and street signs appearing in the public space, the objects of our study, reveal a great deal of the linguistic dominance of a particular milieu, Piliscsév in this case. In case of bilingual street names, the most dominant practice is the Hungarian-Slovak bilingualism; thus, in most cases Hungarian signs are determining. Concerning the visual representation of street signs in Piliscsév, we have observed an interesting phenomenon which is unique and untraditional in the Slovak community in Hungary. The visual presence of Slovak language in street names indicates not only the representation of the ethnic language but also the local and ethnic bonds of the town.

Abstract (sommario):
The purpose of the article is to identify and describe the structure of urban signs containing code switching, foreign language or pseudo-foreign language information. This topic seems to be relevant, since modern cities with a Russian-speaking population are flooded with inscriptions that mislead about foreign cultural realities and are executed with grammatical and lexical errors. In the course of the study, the names of catering establishments, beauty salons, car service enterprises and law firms, fixed on the signboards of the respective organizations and presented for public viewing were analyzed. The specificity of the designations of service enterprises of various kinds and its compliance/nonconformity with the mission of the organization has been established. Analyzing the signboards as a verbal fragment of the urban landscape, the author of the article comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to introduce a new term - pseudo-multicultural identity. The phenomenon of pseudo-multicultural identity characterizes the communicative space of a large city and can be considered a destructive phenomenon formed in a pseudo-other-cultural environment, where the authors of foreign names neglect both the structure and the meaning of the proposed designations, and the target audience forms inadequate language stereotypes.

A safety sign is a sign of equipment to provide protection for workers or visitors in the workplace. American National Standards Institute Z535 (ANSI Z535) is used as a basic guideline for installing safety signs in the workplace because it is more communicative by using global symbols to overcome language barriers. Occupational Safety Division of Manpower and Transmigration Departement, East Java Province (UPT Keselamatan Kerja Surabaya) is a workplace that has a risk of occupational accidents. The preliminary surveys in the area of the 3rd floor of the Division of Occupational Safety (UPT Keselamatan Kerja) Surabaya revealed that there were many sites with insufficient safety signboards. Many of the installed safety signs did not comply with ANZI Z535 standards. This study aimed to evaluate the installation of safety signs compared to the ANZI Z535 standard on the 3rd floor of UPT K2 Surabaya. This was an observational study examining the installation of safety signs. The data were obtained using the ANSI Z535 safety sign checklist. We found 2 out of 5 types of safety signs were in accordance with ANSI safety sign standards with a comparison percentage of more than 66%, such as the notice sign (67.85%) and safety condition sign (75%). Three other types of safety signs were in the unfavorable category with a percentage of less than 66%, such as danger sign (65.63%), warning sign (50%), and caution sign (46.88%). Some sites required additional safety signs, such as warning signs (at distillation site), caution signs (oven, stairs), notice signs (cylinder storage, elevator, chemical warehouse), and safety condition signs (stair, eyewash).

Using the mixed method research approach, this study investigated the linguistic landscape of the central business district of Accra, Ghana. The study employed both the Ethnolinguistic Vitality Theory (EV) and the Place Semiotics Theory to explore the types of signage displayed by shop owners in the Makola market, the languages used on these signs, the dominant language(s) on the signs and how the use of language reflects the ethnolinguistic vitality of the local languages used in Accra. The findings present a very busy linguistic landscape where shop owners use the names of their companies and the products they sell as a marketing strategy through a variety of modes including signboards, billboards, taglines, and signposts to attract customers. There was also a preponderance of English in the linguistic landscape of Accra, which establishes English as a powerful tool for inter-ethnic communication and national integration, giving an implicit impression of low vitality of indigenous languages in the space.

This was done in view of the national policy in Saudi Arabia which aims to ensure correct Arabisation when inconsistencies have been observed in the Arab world. Moreover, it gives an indication of the linguistic landscape, which is necessary given the need to prepare the kingdom for the Saudi 2030 Vision and cater to the growing number of international visitors. Altogether, 184 signboards were observed and categorised, of which 68 were shortlisted for further analysis. Of these, 54 were A-E signs and 17 were E-A signs, with two in both categories. The majority (83.3%) of signs were bilingual with slight variation in relative size and display of information. Same sized lettering was displayed in 66.7%, and the same information in 64.8%. Remedial suggestions are given for language policy-makers to address the issue found of a few inconsistent and erroneous transliterations and spellings, which together accounted for 9.3%. Overall, the case is not as bad in Saudi Arabia as noted in some other Arab countries

Abstract (sommario):
A modeling procedure was proposed for the through-hole LEDs commonly used in traffic signs. The measurements from a sample batch of LEDs were performed at several midfield distances to provide a set of representative angular intensity distributions as the target pattern in the modeling process. The flat outer dimensions of the LED were accurately measured while the curvature and refractive index of the packaging dome were roughly estimated. These physical parameters were used to build a preliminary LED model in the Monte Carlo simulation software. The simulated angular intensity distribution at each distance was generated by tracing 20,000,000 rays. The normalized cross correlation (NCC) between the measured and simulated data was calculated to represent the resemblance of the model to the real LED. The roughly estimated parameters were then varied within their physical limits to optimize the NCC value. The possibilities of two parameters having interactions were also considered. The final model has all NCCs above 98.8% between the target and simulated patterns.

Abstract (sommario):
This study reveals how Virtual Landscape Linguistics (VLL) in Ubud-Bali can describe the community’s attitude when facing the global tourism industry. Data in shop signboards, information boards, and building names were collected using documentation techniques through the Google Street View application (update 2019–2021) along Raya Ubud Street, Bali, Indonesia. The selected data represents the categories of language variation and monolingual-multilingual signs. The findings show that English is used in most commercial signage, both monolingual and multilingual outdoor signs. On the other hand, the local language is seen on monolingual and multilingual outdoor signs in traditional restaurants, information boards, and vernacular building names. Through the display of English signage, tourists worldwide can see that Ubud has provided complete accommodation needs for foreign tourists. In addition, tourists can also see that the use of local languages such as Indonesian and Balinese on commercial signage and vernacular buildings shows the authentic value and culture of the local community as a tourist attraction. This study shows that VLL in the context of tourism has two functions. First, VLL helps travelers plan and organize their vacations better. Second, VLL allows stakeholders to promote their tourist areas virtually without neglecting their natural appearance.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractThis article argues that the commercialization of monarchical culture is more complex than existing scholarship suggests. It explores the aesthetic dimensions of regal culture produced outside of the traditionally defined sphere of art and politics by focusing on the variety of royal images and symbols depicted on hanging signs in eighteenth-century London. Despite the overwhelming presence of kings and queens on signboards, few study these as a form of regal visual culture or seriously question the ways in which these everyday objects affected representations of royalty beyond asserting an unproblematic process of declension. Indeed, even in the Restoration and early eighteenth century, monarchical signs were the subject of criticism and debate. This article explains why this became the case, arguing that signs were criticized not because they were trivial commercial objects that cheapened royal charisma, but because they were overloaded with political meaning. They emblematized the failures of representation in the age of print and party politics by depicting the monarchy—the traditional center of representative stability—in ways that troubled interpretation and defied attempts to control the royal image. Nevertheless, regal images and objects circulating in urban spaces comprised a meaningful political-visual language that challenges largely accepted arguments about the aesthetic inadequacy and cultural unimportance of early eighteenth-century monarchy. Signs were part of an urban, graphic public sphere, used as objects of political debate, historical commemoration, and civic instruction.

Abstract (sommario):
The linguistic landscape (LL) is an important part of the public space for the formation of the linguistic consciousness of the population. It acquires particular significance in the conditions of natural bilingualism in the national republics of Russia. The correlation of languages in the visual space reflects the realities of the functioning and implementation of the state’s language policy as a whole. In the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Yakut language has the status of a state language alongside the Russian language. In order to preserve and develop the languages of the republic, a long-term state programme is being adopted, which, unfortunately, does not reflect the linguistic landscape. The purpose of the study is to analyse the linguistic landscape of the urban-type settlement of Batagai, Verkhoyansky district. The study was conducted within the framework of the Summer Scientific School “Young Researchers of Verkhoyansk” in June-July 2023. In accordance with the purpose of the study, the following tasks were solved: collection of factual material by photographing institutional signs, banners, information materials, analysis of the representation of languages in visual LL, summary of the results. The method of collecting and analysing linguistic material, the statistical method, and the comparative analysis of photographic texts were used. In the first stage of the study, 369 units of LL were collected from two main streets of the village: Lenin and Ammosova. The collected material is grouped as follows: address signs, signboards, signs of operation hours, signs with prohibition or warning signs, information announcements, memorial signs, graffiti, billboards, signs of organisations, advertising posters. In the second stage, material was collected on the internal linguistic landscape of 16 buildings and amounted to 465 units. The internal linguistic landscape consists of information boards, announcements, advertisements, navigational information, etc.

Abstract (sommario):
A composite coating approach has been employed to produce phosphorescent materials for emergency exit signs. The coating consists of a reflecting undercoat, a middle coating comprising phosphorescent pigments in a water based ceramic, and a final transparent silica topcoat. The effects of size and amount of pigments in the ceramic based coating on the luminance of the materials was assessed and compared with the Japanese Industrial Standard for safety signboards (JIS Z9107). The luminance increased with the amount of pigment in the coating, and samples with more than 20% exceeded the standard. Luminance 10 times higher than the JIS standard was obtained with 50% phosphorescent pigments. The luminance increased initially with the number of applications of the ceramic based coating but there was no further increase for more than 4 applications. The water-based phosphorescent ceramics developed here are superior in optical characteristics and made entirely of inorganic materials. It is considered that these are excellent materials for phosphorescent emergency exit signs. In addition, the materials can be applied at room temperature for example to metal substrates or by silkscreen printing on tiles, and then calcined at low temperature. This type of processing makes them suitable for a whole range of applications.

Abstract (sommario):
The present paper investigates the multilingual written texts of the signboards in the public space of Yemen. It attempts to apply Reh's (2004) typology of multilingual writing. Reh introduces four strategies of multilingualism: duplicating, fragmentary, overlapping, and complementary. They refer to the arrangement of information in the inscriptions of multilingual signs in a given linguistic landscape (LL). To achieve this purpose, a data corpus of 755 multilingual signs in the LL of Yemen has been used, the majority of which are bilingual in Arabic and English. The analysis showed that all four strategies of duplicating, fragmentary, overlapping, and complementary multilingual writings were generally employed in Sana'a's LL. While overlapping and complementary multilingualism were totally absent in the top-down signs, duplicating and fragmentary multilingualism had much higher frequency over overlapping and complementary ones in bottom-up signs. Keeping in mind that speech community in Yemen is monolingual in Arabic, the absence or low frequency of overlapping, and complementary signs in both top-down and bottom-up levels can be explained by the fact that these two types of texts presuppose multilingual readers since knowledge of all the languages involved is necessary to understand the whole message. The model of writing mimicry system proposed by Sutherland (2015) is also examined. Writing mimicry system was found to be a salient feature of the public space of Yemen performing some specific functions; it is only used for advertising and promotional purposes rather than expressing the identity of ethnolinguistic minorities. The study also revealed that Sana'a multilingual LL is characterized by the use of Arabicised English, glocalisation and multifunctional signs, all of which are employed to serve a general purpose of promoting, and advertising commodities and showing modernity and success. Standard Arabic appears on almost all of both top-down and bottom-up signs. The scarce use of Yemeni Arabic is indicative of the notion of Arab nationalism. Linguistic nationalism refers to the communicative and symbolic functions of Standard Arabic in articulating national identity in the LL of Yemen.

Abstract (sommario):
According to Article 35 of the Law on Languages of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), state and municipal institutions are required to have official signs for both official languages of the Republic, Yakut and Russian, and for districts densely populated by indigenous northern minorities, for their languages, which are defined by the law as official languages. The aim of this research is to analyse the errors made in translating the official signs of educational institutions in the Neryungrinsky district of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). To accomplish this objective, the following tasks were carried out: 1. Collecting and sorting photographs of signs of educational institutions; 2. Analysing the source text in Russian, i.e. highlighting the order of presentation of information about the institution; 3. Analysing the translated text, i.e. evaluating the accuracy of the translation and identifying translation errors; 4. Categorising translation errors into five groups: graphic errors, spelling errors, errors in translating abbreviations, word order errors and grammatical errors; 5. Linguistic analysis of the identified errors; 6. Development of the correct version of the translation of the signs. The research uses statistical counting and comparison methods to identify the schemes of presentation of information about institutions on signboards, methods of observation and comparison of signboard texts to develop the most optimal translation option in the presence of several translation options for the same information, and methods of analysis and synthesis to describe translation errors and justify the correct translation option. Practical recommendations in the form of schemes and vocabulary developed in the course of this study are universal and can be applied to other organisations of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia); this is the reason for the relevance of the study. The analysis outputs are applicable for training translators at M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University, citing the scientific, practical, and linguodidactic potential of this work.

Abstract (sommario):
The traffic sign identification and recognition system (TSIRS) is an essential component for autonomous vehicles to succeed. The TSIRS helps to collect and provide helpful information for autonomous driving systems. The information may include limits on speed, directions for driving, signs to stop or lower the speed, and many more essential things for safe driving. Recently, incidents have been reported regarding autonomous vehicle crashes due to traffic sign identification and recognition system failures. The TSIRS fails to recognize the traffic signs in challenging conditions such as skewed signboards, scratches on traffic symbols, discontinuous or damaged traffic symbols, etc. These challenging conditions are presented for various reasons, such as accidents, storms, artificial damage, etc. Such traffic signs contain an ample amount of noise, because of which traffic sign identification and recognition become a challenging task for automated TSIRS systems. The proposed method in this paper addresses these challenges. The sign edge is a helpful feature for the recognition of traffic signs. A novel traffic sign edge detection algorithm is introduced based on bilateral filtering with adaptive thresholding and varying aperture size that effectively detects the edges from such noisy images. The proposed edge detection algorithm and transfer learning is used to train the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models and recognize the traffic signs. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated and compared with existing edge detection methods. The results show that the proposed algorithm achieves optimal Mean Square Error (MSE) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) error rates and has a better Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) ratio than the traditional edge detection algorithms. Furthermore, the precision rate, recall rate, and F1 scores are evaluated for the CNN models. With the German Traffic Sign Benchmark database (GTSRB), the proposed algorithm and Inception V3 CNN model gives promising results when it receives the edge-detected images for training and testing.

Abstract (sommario):
Padang Ganting Hot water springs, Tanah Datar regency has experienced a drastic increase in tourist visits in 3 years. Although the problem faced is that visitors often faint due to soaking in hot water and there are even some who are found dead after soaking in hot springs. In addition, visitors' neglect of health protocols in the context of preventing the transmission of Covid-19 while in the bathing area is also a problem that cannot be ruled out. This is exacerbated by the lack of information provided at the bathing location and the incompetence of the management officers in carrying out their respective duties, thereby risking the safety of visitors. Especially now that we are in the Adaptation of New Habits to fight the spread of the Coronavirus, no preventive action has been taken at this tourist attraction which refers to the Covid health protocol. The purpose of this activity is to increase the manager's understanding of K3 and CHSE (cleanliness, health, safety, and environment) at the Padang Ganting Hot Springs tourist attraction. The method of implementing this service activity begins with an initial survey in the field and then continues with Focus Group Discussion activities then training related to the implementation of CHSE (cleanliness, health, safety, environment), installation of occupational safety and health signs and signs calling for the application of CHSE and ends with monitoring and mentoring both directly and online at this tourist attraction. The result of this activity is that managers understand and implement CHSE, the availability of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) at Padang Ganting hot springs, and the installation of occupational safety and health signs (OSH) and the installation of signboards an appeal for the application of CHSE in Padang Ganting hot springs. So, can avoid the risk of visitors fainting and even dying while soaking in the Padang Ganting Hot Springs.
