Dévoiler le statut sérologique n’est pas toujours facile pour les personnes vivant avec le VIH (PVVIH). Ce mémoire a pour objectif d’explorer les facteurs influençant le dévoilement du statut sérologique à leurs partenaires sexuels par des hommes Haïtiens hétérosexuels vivant avec le VIH/SIDA. Trois centres hospitaliers ont été impliqués dans le recrutement des participants. Dix-huit (18) entrevues semi-dirigées ont été réalisées. Les principaux éléments qui facilitent le dévoilement du statut sérologique par les participants sont l’utilisation constante des préservatifs, le besoin d’amour et le sentiment de libérer leur conscience. Les principales barrières évoquées par les participants sont la peur de la discrimination, la peur de la divulgation de leur statut et la peur des réactions des partenaires. Une association significative a été trouvée entre la présence de symptômes et le dévoilement du statut sérologique (p˂ 0.05). Il est important de considérer ces facteurs qui visent à encourager le dévoilement. D’autres études sont nécessaires non seulement auprès de cette population, mais aussi auprès d’autres groupes à risque pour ultimement améliorer les programmes d’interventions entourant la prévention du VIH.
Revealing the HIV status is not always easy for people living with the HIV (PLHIV). This thesis aims to explore the factors influencing the disclosure of HIV status to sexual partners by heterosexual men Haitians living with HIV/AIDS. Three hospitals were involved in recruiting participants. Eighteen (18) semi-structured interviews were conducted. The main elements that facilitate disclosure of HIV status by participants are the consistent use of condoms, the need for love and the feeling of freeing their conscience. The main barriers cited by participants are the fear of discrimination, fear of disclosure of their status and fear of partners’ reactions. A significant association was found between the presence of symptoms and disclosure of HIV status (p˂0.05). It is important to consider these factors aimed at encouraging the unveiling. Further studies are needed not only for this population but also from other groups at risk to ultimately improve interventions programs for HIV prevention.

Le thème de la sexualité entre un homme et une femme concerne l'indication d'un travail à l'œuvre dans la détermination même des termes proposés dans ce titre : sexualité, homme, femme, entre. Il explicite l'écart existant entre une attribution dite naturelle ou biologique des caractères sexuels à un être humain d'un côté et, de l'autre, la présence audible de l'inconscient en ce qui concerne les enjeux sexuels qui construisent tous les sujets. Etre un homme ou une femme, ou ne pas se sentir comme l'un ni comme l'autre, avoir une sexualité et être sexué, vivre les mouvements ayant lieu dans les espaces tracés entre,les identités et les relations sexuelles, autant de thèmes qui nous permettent d'entrevoir les voies qui nous amènent loin de toute référence à un sexuel qui « va de soi ». Ce travail interroge la sexualité en ce qu'elle indique d'un sexuel qui n'est pas seulement la vie sexuelle manifeste et visible, il s'agit de la penser en ce qu'elle fait résonner de l'inconscient, de l'infantile et de ce qui est en mouvement chez le sujet. Ce qui nous conduit à l'entrelacement entre la sexualité et la temporalité du sexuel comme un thème qui dépasse celui de l'identité sexuelle, et qui indique la rencontre amoureuse comme sujet transversal, notamment pour la réflexion sur l'assignation (et l'auto-assignation) d'une identité d'homme, de femme, ou d'autre

Ce travail a consisté à évaluer l’acceptabilité de la prophylaxie pré-exposition (PrEP) pour la prévention du VIH, puis à identifier les facilitateurs et obstacles qui pourraient affecter la mise en place de cette stratégie de prévention chez les hommes ayant des relations sexuelles avec d’autres hommes (HSH) au Bénin. Il en ressort que la PrEP est peu connue des HSH. Toutefois, la quasi totalité des enquêtés, une fois informés par rapport à cette méthode de prévention, était disposée à l’utiliser si elle est rendue disponible. Certains facteurs ont été jugés importants par les HSH à prendre en compte dans le processus de l’implantation de cette stratégie. Le risque de diminution voire de l’abandon de l’utilisation du condom existe. Toutefois, cela ne devra pas entraver la prescription de la PrEP. Les prescripteurs devront accompagner les HSH désireux d’utiliser la PrEP dans la prise de décision concernant les options de prévention (PrEP et/ou préservatif) en accord avec leurs valeurs et leur désir.
We evaluated the acceptability of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention and identified the potential facilitators and obstacles that could affect the implementation of this prevention strategy among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Bénin. The results showed that PrEP is not well known to MSM. However, once informed about this prevention tool, almost all surveyed men were willing to use it if made available. Some factors were viewed as important by MSM to be considered in the implementation process. The risk of reducing or even abandoning condom use exists. However, this should not hinder the prescription of PrEP. Prescribers should accompany MSM who wish to use PrEP in making decisions about prevention options (PrEP and / or condom) in accordance with their values and desires

Following phenomenological and comprehensive perspectives, this doctoral dissertation describes the contexts of men-to-men cruising for sex and sex work focussing on space, time and mobility. Ethnographic data collected in public spaces located in the south of France and Barcelona over a decade (1995-2005) challenge AIDS research categorization in term of sexual identity and marital status, and confront urban sociology to an anthropology of secrecy. Cette étude, en partant de l' analyse de l'ordre traditionnel chinois des sexes et de la politique de non différentiation sexuelle qui a été appliquée entre 1949-1978, met l'accent sur les phénomènes culturels spécifiques (L’écriture du corps ; Culture vulgaire populaire; Le phénomène du célibat des femmes aujourd’hui) qui ont émergé dans la société chinoise dans les années 90, et l’influence de l'ordre traditionnel sur le mariage des femmes, ainsi que l'émergence de l'industrie du sexe à grande échelle. L'étude a cherché à montrer les contradictions et les conflits des femmes dans le contexte social sur le thème de la libération des femmes. A partir de 1949, la libération des femmes établie par texte de loi, est tombée dans d'autres problématiques pendent la période de mutation. D'une autre manière, la femme est à nouveau "observée". Après la mise en œuvre d’une politique d’ouverture et de réforme de la Chine, la réapparition d’une culture de masse est un des changements les plus visibles d’une ‘modernisation’ à la chinoise. On voit l’émergence d’une culture de masse féminisée où dominent les couleurs vives, le sexe et la sensualité. La féminisation commence par celle des femmes, elles-mêmes, après une trentaine d’années pendant lesquelles les spécificités féminines avaient été gommées. Cette féminisation devient également un symbole de « modernisation » et fait partie des valeurs propres aux femmes. On voit émerger un stéréotype de « la femme professionnelle », et la ‘beauté’ est devient un critère très important. La culture populaire, la production et la reproduction des images sur les femmes, ont pour résultat que les femmes perdent leur personnalité indépendante. Et par là même on peut voir naître les conflits internes entre « l'observateur » et « l'observée » de la « femme moderne »
This study focuses on specific cultural phenomena (Writing the Body, popular vulgar culture, transition of modern single women) which have emerged in the Chinese society in the 90s, the influence on the traditional order of marriage of women and the emergence of the sex industry. It tries to show the contradictions and conflicts of women in the social context of women’s liberation. From 1949 the equalization of women was established by the law but since the 1980s a period of change is influencing the modern women presenting new challenges. After the implementation of a policy of openness and reform in China, the resurgence of a mass culture is one of the most visible changes of a "modernization" with Chinese characteristics. We see the emergence of a feminized mass culture dominated by sex and sensuality. The feminization begins with the women themselves, after thirty years during which the forced equality led to the loss femininity. This feminization is also a symbol of "modernization" and is part of the values of the women. A stereotype of the "professional woman" emerged, and "beauty" is becoming a very important criterion. Popular culture, production and reproduction of images of women resulted in women losing their independent personality. And thus we see internal conflicts arise between the "observer" and "observed" in the "modern woman"

Cette recherche porte sur les violences sexuelles subies par les hommes, conceptualisées comme des violences de genre. Elle adopte une approche biographique et porte une attention particulière aux rapports d’âge imbriqués au genre, mais aussi à la sexualité et la classe. Les analyses s’appuient sur deux enquêtes quantitatives, Virage (2015) et CSF (2006), ainsi que cinquante entretiens biographiques avec des répondants à Virage ayant déclaré des violences sexuelles.Au total, 3,1 % des hommes déclarent avoir subi des violences sexuelles au cours de la vie, presque exclusivement avant 25 ans et perpétrées par d’autres hommes, toujours plus âgés. L’approche biographique permet de souligner l’importance des mécanismes de domination au sein de l’institution familiale, en particulier dans la banalisation des violences et leur silenciation. Elle souligne que les violences constituent des facteurs de vulnérabilité dans les parcours de vie, en fonction des conditions de vie dans l’enfance, et plus tard sur la trajectoire de santé, sexuelle et dans les relations interpersonnelles. Cette recherche met également en lumière les rapports aux normes de genre, de sexualité et de conjugalité des hommes qui déclarent des violences. Ceux-ci se positionnent de manière moins inégalitaire que l’ensemble des hommes, au sein d’un espace des masculinités opposant masculinités hégémoniques égalitariste et conservatrice. L’approche biographique est répliquée pour théoriser les « parcours de violences », constitués de plusieurs trajectoires : exposition, silenciation, qualification et énonciation. Ces dernières permettent d’analyser les évolutions dynamiques des rapports de pouvoir, durant les violences et lorsqu’elles ont pris fin. Après avoir isolé six trajectoires types d’exposition, deux groupes se distinguent : les hommes ayant vécu des violences (très) jeunes et/ou cumulées, notamment au sein de la famille ou de l’entourage proche ; et ceux les ayant subies à l’adolescence ou durant la jeunesse, dans des contextes scolaires, de sociabilités masculines et d’entrées dans la sexualité. Les premiers ont un parcours de violences particulièrement difficile, qui marque les parcours de vie. Les violences laissent des traces mais ne marquent pas durablement les parcours de vie des seconds. Toutefois, tout au long de la thèse, l’analyse montre que les hommes non hétérosexuels sont plus exposés, plus silenciés, moins soutenus et plus mis en vulnérabilité tout au long du parcours de vie
This research focuses on the sexual violence suffered by men, as gender-based violence. It adopts a life course approach and a particular attention to age and gender relations, as well as to sexuality and class. The analyses are based on two quantitative surveys, Virage (2015) and CSF (2006), and fifty biographical interviews with Virage respondents who had reported sexual violence. In total, 3.1% of men report having been sexually assaulted in their lifetime, almost exclusively before the age of 25 and perpetrated by other men, always older than themselves. The life course approach highlights the importance of mechanisms of domination within the family institution, particularly in trivialising and silencing violence. It underlines the fact that violence is a factor of vulnerability in the life course, depending on living conditions in childhood, and later on the trajectory of health, sexuality and interpersonal relationships. This research also highlights the particular relations to gender, sexuality and conjugality norms of men who report violence. These men position themselves less unequally than men as a whole in the space of masculinities, highlighting an opposition between hegemonic egalitarian and conservative masculinities.The biographical approach is replicated to theorise the ‘pathways of violence’, with several trajectories: exposure, silencing, qualification and enunciation. These make it possible to analyse the dynamic changes in power relations, both during the violence and once it has ended. After isolating six typical exposure trajectories, two groups stand out: men who had experienced violence at a young age and/or at multiple times, particularly within the family or close social circle; and those who had suffered violence in adolescence or during their youth, in the context of school, male social life and sexual initiation. The former have a particularly difficult pathway of violence, which leaves its mark on their lives. For the latter, the violence leaves its mark but does not have a lasting effect on their lives. However, throughout the thesis, the analysis shows that non-heterosexual men are more exposed, more silent, less supported and more vulnerable throughout their lives

L'épidémie de VIH a introduit la question du risque et de la maladie dans les rapports entre les femmes et les hommes. Parmi les stratégies mises en place du niveau individuel au niveau collectif, différentes selon les situations et inscrites dans des représentations infléchies par le contexte culturel, celles relatives aux personnes atteintes par le VIH sont primordiales. Ce « traitement social » est marqué par des différences et des similitudes entre les hommes et les femmes, qui induisent certaines recompositions des rapports entre hommes et femmes. Cette recherche, qui relève simultanément de l'anthropologie médicale et de l'anthropologie du genre, décrit et analyse la dimension du genre dans le traitement social de l'infection à VIH dans le système de soin au Cameroun. L'analyse des représentations de la maladie à travers les messages sanitaires des années 1980 à 2000 révèle les stéréotypes de genre prévalent dans la société camerounaise et leurs usages dans la prévention. L'expérience d'hommes et de femmes vivant avec le VIH dans le système de soin montre ensuite des différences entre leurs perceptions et conduites, qu'ils soient patients ou professionnels de santé, de l'annonce du statut jusqu'à sa révélation au partenaire. Puis c'est à travers l'expérience du traitement antirétroviral que des différences entre les hommes et les femmes apparaissent dans le système de soin. Enfin, l'étude de la gestion de la sexualité, de la procréation et de l'allaitement montre comment les rôles sociaux des hommes et des femmes se construisent de manière particulière pour des personnes vivant avec le VIH, dévoilant un aspect du genre dans la société camerounaise
The HIV epidemic has brought the issue of risk and disease into relations between women and men. Among the strategies set up from the individual to the collective level, varied in different situations and shaped by culturally framed representations, those relating to people living with HIV are crucial. This "social treatment" is marked by differences and similarities between men and women, which induce some reconstructions of the relationships between men and women. This research, which belongs simultaneously to the fields of medical anthropology and anthropology of gender, describes and analyzes the gender dimension of the social treatment of HIV infection in the health care system in Cameroon. The analysis of disease representations through health messages from 1980 to 2000 reveals the gender stereotypes prevalent in the Cameroonian society and their use in prevention. The experience of men and women living with HIV in the health care system then shows the differences between their perceptions and behavior, whether patients or health professionals, from announcement of HIV status by health professionnals to disclosure to partner. Then men and women’s experience of antiretroviral therapy reveal gender dimensions in the health care system. Finally, the study of the management of sexuality, pregnancy and infant feeding shows how the social roles of men and women are built in a special way for people living with HIV, as a window an aspect of gender in Cameroonian society

Ce mémoire s'intéresse aux relations de pouvoir entre les hommes et les femmes telles qu'elles s'expriment à travers les "scripts" sexuels (Gagnon) dans six oeuvres québécoises écrites après les années 2000. Deux critères déterminent le choix des oeuvres : la sphère de légitimité à laquelle elles appartiennent et le sexe des auteurs. Le premier chapitre s'intéresse à deux oeuvres légitimées écrites par des femmes : La Brèche (2002) de Marie-Sissi Labrèche et Infrarouge (2010) de Nancy Huston; le deuxième chapitre aborde deux romans légitimés écrits par des hommes : Bouche-à-bouch e [i.e. bouche] (2003) de Mauricio Segura et L'aimé (2007) d'Antonio D'Alfonso; enfin le troisième chapitre étudie, quant à lui, deux recueils de nouvelles érotiques relevant de la littérature populaire, l'un écrit par une femme, l'autre par un homme: Grande aventure et petites histoires libertines (2007) de Julie Bray et Tentations voluptueuses (2006) de Martin Lortie. Chacun des chapitres se divise en quatre parties. Dans la première partie, sont étudiés le genre des voix narratives en lien avec le sexe des auteurs. La deuxième partie s'emploie à tracer le portrait des personnages féminins et masculins principaux à l'intérieur des oeuvres. Les troisième et quatrième parties étudient plus spécifiquement les scènes sexuelles, d'abord à partir de l'analyse de l'espace et ensuite à partir [de] l'analyse des"scripts" sexuels. Les orientations en matière de lutte contre le VIH/Sida s’accordent sur la nécessité de mettre en œuvre une offre de prévention plus diversifiée pour limiter les nouvelles infections auprès des populations les plus touchées par l’épidémie. En Afrique de l’Ouest, les hommes ayant des relations sexuelles avec les hommes (HSH) sont particulièrement vulnérables à l’infection par le VIH. Dans ce contexte, la réponse des programmes VIH repose principalement sur les services de santé offerts par les associations communautaires. Cependant, peu de données sont disponibles sur les HSH séronégatifs bénéficiant d’une offre diversifiée de prévention en Afrique de l’Ouest, aussi bien sur leurs motivations à être suivi dans des services communautaires que sur leurs comportements sexuels à risque. Ce travail s’appuie sur les données recueillies dans une cohorte interventionnelle (CohMSM) offrant aux HSH séronégatifs un suivi trimestriel préventif mise en œuvre par des associations communautaires (Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Togo). Les résultats montrent que les besoins de ces participants sont en faveur d’une offre de santé sexuelle globale. L’accès à la PrEP est également considéré par les HSH comme un besoin prioritaire au regard de leurs comportements sexuels à risque. Cette thèse a également permis de mieux identifier les HSH présentant un risque élevé d’exposition à l’infection par le VIH. Le suivi préventif offert semble aussi réduire les pratiques sexuelles à risque des HSH les plus exposés au risque d’infection. Ces résultats contribuent ainsi à mieux appréhender la mise en place d’une offre diversifiée de prévention auprès des HSH dans un cadre communautaire
The new HIV/AIDS guidelines recommend a combined package consisting of multiple preventive strategies to limit new infections among the most affected populations. In West Africa, men who have sex with men (MSM) are especially vulnerable to HIV infection. In this context, the response of HIV programs primarily relies on healthcare services provided by community-based organizations. However, there is limited data regarding HIV-negative MSM accessing a combined preventive package in West Africa as well as on their motivations for being followed-up in community-based services and on their risky sexual behaviors. This work used the data collected from an interventional cohort (CohMSM) offering a quarterly preventive follow-up to HIV-negative MSM in community-based settings in four West African countries (Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Togo). The results demonstrate that the needs of the participants are in favor of a comprehensive sexual health offer. Access to PrEP is also considered by MSM as a priority need in view of their high-risk sexual behaviors. This also helps to better identify MSM who are at high-risk of exposure to HIV infection. Furthermore, the quarterly preventive follow-up also appears to reduce risky sexual practices in MSM most at risk. Thus, these results contribute to a better understanding of the implementation of a combined prevention package for MSM in a community setting

Cette thèse propose une analyse sociologique compréhensive du travail d’individuation et d’identification de genre des migrant.e.s iranien.ne.s en France et s’inscrit dans la question sociologique plus générale des formes d’adaptation des acteurs à un nouvel environnement social, moral et normatif. C’est particulièrement le cas entre la France et l’Iran en raison des contrastes concernant les identités et les rôles de genre et la sexualité. La thèse a pour objectif de répondre à deux questions. Comment ces personnes migrantes font-elles pour adapter leur travail d’identification de genre forgée en Iran aux nouvelles normes et aux nouveaux attendus propres à une société française, non plus imaginée depuis l’Iran, mais éprouvée socialement ? Symétriquement, quels sont ces attendus et ces normes de genre propres à la société française que doivent découvrir, comprendre et prendre en compte (d’une manière ou d’une autre) ces hommes et ces femmes venus d’Iran ? L’idée qui guide la recherche est que l’appareillage théorique classique (acculturation, intégration, socialisation) ne permet sans doute pas de rendre compte de la dimension composite d’une adaptation au nouvel environnement qui combine à la fois l’adoption de nouvelles normes et pratiques, la conservation de ce qui n’est pas flexible dans l’habitus et/ou les convictions religieuses et la syncrétisation d’une néo-ethnicité irano-française. L’enquête a été réalisée par entretiens et observation au sein des espaces domestiques auprès d’hommes et de femmes ayant été totalement socialisés au sein de la société postrévolutionnaire iranienne et qui, devenus migrants en France, doivent comprendre (en une « ethnologie inversée ») et s’adapter aux normes françaises de féminité par le vêtement, aux interactions entre les hommes et les femmes, et à une sexualité dissociée de la conjugalité, le tout dans un contexte fortement contraint par les stéréotypes négatifs envers les migrants du Sud et les musulmans. Ce travail d’individuation peut se résumer au final par l’articulation sous tension entre deux principales dimensions de leur expérience : une « individualité familiale » issue de leur socialisation en Iran et qui est partie-prenante d’une « identification composite » faite d’un travail continu et réflexif d’ajustement social et subjectif
This thesis proposes a comprehensive sociological analysis of the work of individuation and gender identification of Iranian migrants in France, as a part of the broader sociological question of the adaptation of actors to a new social, moral and normative environment. This is particularly the case between France and Iran because of the contrasts concerning identities and gender roles and sexuality. The thesis aims to answer two questions. How do these migrant people adapt their gender identification forged in Iran to the new norms and expectations of a French society, no longer imagined from Iran, but socially experimented? Symmetrically, what are these expectations and norms of gender specific to the French society that must discover, understand and take into account (in one way or another) these men and women from Iran? The idea that guides the research is that the classical theoretical apparatus (acculturation, integration, socialization) probably does not allow to account for the composite dimension of an adaptation to the new environment that combines both the adoption of new norms and practices, the preservation of what is not flexible in habitus and / or religious convictions and the syncretization of an Iranian-French neo-ethnicity. The survey was conducted through interviews and observation in domestic spaces with men and women who have been fully socialized in the post-revolutionary Iranian society and who, having become migrants in France, must understand (through an "inverted ethnology" ) and adapt to French norms of femininity through clothing, interactions between men and women and a sexuality divorced from conjugality, all in a context strongly constrained by negative stereotypes towards migrants from the South and Muslims. This work of individuation can be summed up in the end by the tension between two main dimensions of their experience: a "family individuality" stemming from their socialization in Iran, which is a complicated part of a new "composite identification" made through a continuous and reflexive work of social and subjective adjustments

Cette recherche se penche sur la réalité de femmes qui exercent les activités de neggâfa ("ordonnatrice des cérémonies") et de neqqâsha ("poseuse de henné") dans un quartier populaire de Marrakech. Ce travail explore à la fois le poids des rapports de pouvoir et les stratégies de résistance que ces femmes déploient face aux différentes formes de domination auxquelles elles sont confrontées en tant que femmes, de classes populaires et Marocaines, dans une perspective articulant les rapports sociaux de genre, de classe et postcoloniaux. Globalement, ces systèmes de pouvoir se renforcent entre eux pour invisibiliser et dévaloriser ces activités et les femmes qui les pratiquent. Elles sont stigmatisées, et leurs activités sont invisibilisées par le discours dominant, marqué par une vision orientaliste qui occulte le travail des femmes des classes populaires marocaines en général. Cette invisibilisation/dévalorisation permet de contenir le pouvoir que l'exercice de ces activités pourrait apporter aux femmes qui les pratiquent, et donc de préserver l'ordre établi, aussi bien du point de vue des rapports sociaux de sexe que des inégalités sociales, intrinsèquement lièes à la configuration postcoloniale de la société. Cependant, ces femmes sont aussi actrices de leur vie: face aux différentes formes d'oppression qu'elles subissent, elles mettent en place des stratégies de résistance propres. C'est précisément dans les marges créées par leur exclusion (économie informelle, culture popualire, sociabilité féminine populaire, rôles féminins stigmatisés, etc. ) qu'émergent des pratiques d'autonomisation propres aux femmes des classes populaires
This research explores the reality of women working as neggâffat ("masters of ceremonies") and neqqâshat ("henna workers") in a popular neighbourhood of Marrakech. The study analyses the importance of power relations as well as the resistance strategies developed by these women in reaction to the different forms of domination they face as women of working class and as Moroccan, in a cross-cutting perspective in terms of gender, class and postcolonial relations. Overall, those oppressions reinforce each other, making invisible, or 'invisibilizing', and devaluating the activities of neggâffat and neqqâshat and the women performing them. They are stigmatized and their activities are 'invisibilized by the dominant discourse, marked by an Orientalist approach occulting the work of working class women at large. This 'invisibilization''/devaluation allows to contain the power that the parctice of these activities could provide to the women practicing them, and thus allows the established order to be preserved, from a gender perspective as well as a class perspective, the latter being intimately tied to the postcolonial nature of society. Neverthless, these women are also actors of their own lives: confronting different forms of appression, they implement specific resistance strategies. It is precisely in the margins generated by their exclusion (informal economy, popular culture, popular feminine sociability, female stigmatised roles. . . ) that empowerment strategies particular to working class women emerge

The present thesis is a study of contemporary Brazilian cinema focused on the constitution of female gazes. This study is based on film analysis and aims to describe an aesthetic model in opposition to the dominant (male) gaze that structures the majority of film production. It develops a perspective that distinguishes itself from classical feminist theory, by means of a shift in focus from the historically consecrated pair of opposites (masculine versus feminine) to an emphasis on what films offer as indications pointing to new symbolic structures. Its goal is to shed light on the constitution of a cinematic female gaze, and to describe the structural lines that define it

Cette étude est le fruit de rechercherches menées au sein de deux groupes touaregs vivant au Mali, les Imédedaghen, qui observent un mode de filiation matrilinéaire, et les Kel Adagh qui sont patrilinéaires. La conceptualisation des notions de chaud et de froid est le fil conducteur utilisé dans cette thèse pour comprendre la construction socialeet symbolique du genre. Ces notions, provenant du système thérapeutique touareg, sont largement utilisées pour désigner les personnalités individuelles mais aussi les situations auxquelles chacun est confronté dans la vie quotidienne et les différentes phases de la vie. Le but étant de trouver et retrouver continuellement l'équilibre entre le chaud et le froid, les Touaregs ont mis en place des systèmes éducatifs qui offrent à chacun la possibilité de connaître et intégrer une place au sein de la société. Le mariage apparaît comme un lieu privilégier de rencontre entre des éléments duels, chaud/froid, masculin/féminin, intérieur/extérieur,qui sont en définitive complémentaires. Il est aussi le lieu d'expression des valeurs individuelles et collectives acquises pendant l'éducation. Compte tenu des fractures économiques et politiques que vivent les Touaregs depuis plusieurs décennies, de nouvelles catégories sociales ont émergé notamment dans des ce tres sédentaires et l'objet d'une analyse. Une étude comparative émerge ainsi de ce travail. Elle a pour but de mettre en relief les glissements conceptuels qui ont lieu dans cette société en mutation. Le non-aboutissement de l'éducation, la scolarisation, le séjour dans des pays voisins fortement marqués par l'islam, la perte des repères qui permettent à l'individu de trouver son identi é, poussent les générations de sédentarisés et de sédentaires à emprunter des notions extérieures à leur société ppour se définir. Les hommes cherchent alors à faire des valeurs masculines des valeurs dominantes et les femmes privilégient les valeurs matérielles aux valeurs sociales. Le mariage est perçu, pour les uns,comme un moyen d'être reconnu socialement, pour les autres, comme un moyen d'atteindre l'équilibre.

Ce travail intitulé « La vision du monde sexuée chez Agustina Bessa-Luís : l'exemple de Os Super-Homens, A Sibila, Vale Abraão et Um cão que sonha » s'attache à démontrer l'existence d'une vision du monde sexuée dans ces romans de la romancière portugaise, c'est-à-dire un point de vue sur le monde marqué par la sexuation. Cette vision du monde est celle de la domination féminine. Elle se présente la forme d'une structure thématique et repose sur un système social et référentiel : le pouvoir des femmes et leur nature supérieure. Elle reproduit en partie la catégorisation sexuée contextuelle et les rapports sociaux de sexe et les déconstruit à partir du maximum de conscience possible mobilisé par la romancière à un moment de son parcours de production. Elle est donc une prise de position contestataire réflexive et évolutive résultant de la condensation du travail de déconstruction menée par l'écrivaine et est ainsi un acte de conscience et de connaissance. Cette vision du monde traduit un désir de totalité et se propose de participer à la construction sociale de la réalité, en bousculant les représentations sociales des lecteurs à partir d'un processus de prise de conscience
This work entitled “The sexed world view in Agustina Bessa-Luís : the example of Os Super-Homens, A Sibila, Vale Abraão and Um cão que sonha” attempt to demonstrate the existence of a sexed view in these novels of the Portuguese woman writer, that is to say a point of view which is marked by “sexuation”. This world view is the feminine domination. It presents under a form of a thematic structure and it stands on a social and referential system: the power of women and their superior nature. She reproduces in part the sexed and contextual categorization and the sexed relations and she deconstruct them as well from the maximum of consciousness mobilized by the novelist at some specific moment of her career. Therefore, she is an anti-establishment and reflexive stands which evolutes as a result of the condensation of the deconstruction work led by the novelist. This world view translates a desire of totality and intends to participate at the social construction of the reality, by shaking up the social representations of readers form a process of awareness

Objectif : Explorer les motivations qui amènent des hommes âgés de 18 à 35 ans, qui vivent sur le territoire québécois et qui n'ont pas reçu de diagnostic de dysfonction érectile (DE) d'un professionnel de la santé, à performer leur identité de genre en consommant des médicaments pour le traitement des problèmes de DE, obtenus sans prescription du médecin. Problématique : Depuis l'avènement du Viagra en 1998, la consommation de médicaments pour le traite-ment des problèmes de DE, obtenus sans prescription du médecin, semble augmenter sans cesse malgré les effets que cela peut entraîner sur la santé, la qualité de la relation de couple et l'identité de genre des hommes qui en consomment. Les compagnies qui produisent ces médicaments ne visent qu'à rendre leur consommation essentielle à l'expression de la sexualité masculine (Croissant, 2006) en offrant une vision qui se place, selon plusieurs auteurs (Giami, 2004 ; Grace, Potts, Gavey et Vares, 2006), en continuité avec les dictats de la socialisation masculine, dont la pornographie est partie prenante (Crooks et Baur, 2009 ; Dorais, 2011 ; Tremblay, 2012), et les injonctions de la société de performance qui encourage la médicalisa-tion de toutes les sphères de la vie sous peine d'être un sous-homme (Croissant, 2006). Cadre théorique : C'est par la théorie de la performativité élaborée par la philosophe Judith Butler dans Gender Trouble: Feminism and the Subversion of Identity, publié en 1990, que sont explorées les précon-ceptions construisant les identités des hommes performant leur sexualité en intervenant médicalement sur leur corps en consommant des médicaments destinés au traitement des dysfonctions. Méthodologie : Sept hommes âgés de 21 à 32 ans ont livré leurs perceptions sur leur consommation de médicaments pour le traitement des DE, obtenus sans prescription du médecin, leur sexualité et leur mascu-linité au moyen d'entrevues qualitatives. Résultats : Les répondants ont une vision hétéronormative de la masculinité et de la sexualité qui exige parfois la prise de médication pour y correspondre. Certains d'entre eux ont usé du médicament pour stimu-ler et maintenir leur érection et les autres l'ont fait pour retarder leur éjaculation. Discussion : Neuf préconceptions relatives à la sexualité masculine des répondants ressortent des entre-vues telles « La pornographie est hyperréelle et la sexualité est pornographique », « Le féminin est dange-reux », « Le médicament pour le traitement des dysfonctions érectiles permet à l'homme de préserver son identité intacte », etc. Mots-clés : dysfonction érectile, usage récréatif, illicite, Viagra, performance, hyperréalité, masculinité, sexualité, hétéronormativité, hétérosexisme.

Cette étude propose l’analyse de représentations queer dans le cinéma des années 2000. Plus précisément, elle porte sur la façon dont l’abus sexuel au masculin est représenté dans deux films produits en 2004, soit La mauvaise éducation (La mala educación), du réalisateur espagnol Pedro Almodovar, et Mysterious Skin, du réalisateur étatsunien Gregg Araki. À l’aide de la réflexion contenue dans Ça arrive aussi aux garçons : l’abus sexuel au masculin du sociologue Michel Dorais, l’objectif vise à démontrer comment cet événement traumatique influence de manière significative la construction identitaire et sexuelle des personnages principaux. De manière plus générale, ce mémoire positionne ces deux réalisateurs dans la grande et riche lignée du cinéma queer, qui met en scène des désirs hors norme et des identités sexuelles alternatives. Le premier chapitre porte sur les théories queer et ses diverses manifestations au grand écran. Il permet par la suite de réunir Almódovar et Araki dans une même étude et de souligner la pertinence de cette réunion. Le deuxième chapitre s’intéresse, à l’aide d’analyses d’extraits significatifs des films, à la façon dont chacun met en scène l’abus sexuel au masculin et comment cet événement se présente dans la vie des protagonistes. Le dernier chapitre se penche sur la construction identitaire et sexuelle des personnages principaux, afin de mieux comprendre l’incidence de l’abus sexuel. Jumelée aux travaux de Judith Butler, l’approche queer sera donc mise de l’avant dans cette étude qui se montre d’emblée attentive, d’un point de vue cinématographique, aux notions de sexe, de genre et de désir, et ce, à travers l’analyse de plusieurs extraits filmiques et d’éléments à la fois narratifs et structurels particulièrement significatifs quant à la représentation de l’abus sexuel au masculin.
This study proposes to analyze queer cinema representations in the 2000s. It focuses on how the male sexual abuse is shown in two films released in 2004, Bad Education (La mala educación), from the Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar, and Mysterious Skin, from the American director Gregg Araki. Applying ideas from sociologist Michel Dorais, in his 1997 book, Ça arrive aussi aux garçons: l’abus sexuel au masculin, we aim to show how this event significantly influences the identity and the sexual construction of the films’ main characters. More generally, this study places these two directors in the large and rich tradition of queer cinema, which focuses on unconventional desires and sexual identities. The first chapter deals specifically with queer theory main ideas and its various manifestations in cinema, which allows us to bring Almodóvar and Araki together in one study and to emphasize the relevance of this reunion. The second chapter focuses on significant scenes from the movies that show how each director presents male sexual abuse and how this event reflects on the lives of the protagonists. Finally, the last chapter analyses problems of identity and sexual construction in the main characters, to see how sexual abuse has affected them. Coupled with the work of Judith Butler, the queer approach in film studies is therefore adapted in this thesis, in order to emphasize the importance of concepts like genre, sexuality, and the manifestations of desire through the analysis of several scenes from the corpus. Therefore, particularly significant narrative and structural elements, as regards to the representation of male sexual abuse in cinema, will be studied

Cette thèse s’appuie sur une ethnographie de l’expérience et du vécu des hommes aux identités sexuelles multiples. Ce faisant, ce travail vise à articuler analyse du contexte économique et sociopolitique dans lequel s’articule l’expérience de l’homosexualité au Sénégal à celle de l’ordinaire de ceux dont il est question dans ce volume. L’analyse des discours, écrits et violences souligne la nécessité de replacer la controverse sur l’homosexualité dans un contexte politique et historique plus large. La controverse sur l’homosexualité dans l’espace public relève de logiques et dynamiques liées au passé notamment colonial, mais aussi aux enjeux du présent relatifs au contexte du Sénégal contemporain. Les réactions violentes contre l’homosexualité depuis 2008 témoignent de la difficulté pour les hommes rencontrés de vivre une sexualité non orthodoxe et de l’existence d’identités sexuelles multiples. Ces réalités multiples doivent se comprendre en raison des représentations faites sur les pratiques sexuelles entre hommes et de l’illégitimité de ces pratiques présente dans plusieurs secteurs de la société sénégalaise. Ces logiques de dissimulation mettent à jour les problèmes auxquels se confronte une politique de prévention ciblée en direction de ceux qui sont nommés dans le contexte du sida MSM [Men who have sex with men]. Les différentes formes de violence et les inégalités sociales dans lequel s’insère le vécu des hommes aux identités sexuelles multiples nous renseignent sur leur rapport à la sexualité (avec les hommes et les femmes) et à la maladie. En outre, l’analyse ethnographique permet de rendre compte de la multiplicité des expériences relatives à l’homosexualité. Elle révèle divers degrés de connaissance et de reconnaissance de l’homosexualité au Sénégal. Cela permet ainsi d’envisager conjointement expérience du mépris et de la violence d’une part et formes de reconnaissance sociale d’autre part
This work is based on ethnography of experience of men with multiple sexual identities. In doing so, this work aims to articulate analysis of the socio-political context in which articulates the experience of homosexuality in Senegal than the regular ones discussed in this volume. The analysis of speech, writing and violence underlines the need to put the controversy over homosexuality in a broader political and historical context. The controversy over homosexuality in the public space is particularly related to colonial past, but also to the present context of contemporary Senegal. The backlashes against homosexuality since 2008 attest to the difficulty encountered men live an unorthodox sexuality and the existence of multiple sexual identities. These multiple realities must be understood as a result of representations made on sexual practices among men and the illegitimacy of these practices present in several sectors of Senegalese society. This logical concealment update problem that confronts a targeted prevention towards those named in the context of AIDS MSM [Men who have sex with men]. Different forms of violence and social inequality in which inserts the experiences of men with multiple sexual identities tell us about their relationship to sex (with men and women) and disease. In addition, ethnographic analysis can account for the multiplicity of experiences regarding homosexuality. It reveals varying degrees of knowledge and recognition of homosexuality in Senegal. This allows considering jointly experience of contempt and violence on one hand and forms of social recognition on the other

Cette thèse s'appuie sur une ethnographie de l'expérience et du vécu des hommes aux identités sexuelles multiples. Ce faisant, ce travail vise à articuler analyse du contexte économique et sociopolitique dans lequel s'articule l'expérience de l'homosexualité au Sénégal à celle de l'ordinaire de ceux dont il est question dans ce volume. L'analyse des discours, écrits et violences souligne la nécessité de replacer la controverse sur l'homosexualité dans un contexte politique et historique plus large. La controverse sur l'homosexualité dans l'espace public relève de logiques et dynamiques liées au passé notamment colonial, mais aussi aux enjeux du présent relatifs au contexte du Sénégal contemporain. Les réactions violentes contre l'homosexualité depuis 2008 témoignent de la difficulté pour les hommes rencontrés de vivre une sexualité non orthodoxe et de l'existence d'identités sexuelles multiples. Ces réalités multiples doivent se comprendre en raison des représentations faites sur les pratiques sexuelles entre hommes et de l'illégitimité de ces pratiques présente dans plusieurs secteurs de la société sénégalaise. Ces logiques de dissimulation mettent à jour les problèmes auxquels se confronte une politique de prévention ciblée en direction de ceux qui sont nommés dans le contexte du sida MSM [Men who have sex with men]. Les différentes formes de violence et les inégalités sociales dans lequel s'insère le vécu des hommes aux identités sexuelles multiples nous renseignent sur leur rapport à la sexualité (avec les hommes et les femmes) et à la maladie. En outre, l'analyse ethnographique permet de rendre compte de la multiplicité des expériences relatives à l'homosexualité. Elle révèle divers degrés de connaissance et de reconnaissance de l'homosexualité au Sénégal. Cela permet ainsi d'envisager conjointement expérience du mépris et de la violence d'une part et formes de reconnaissance sociale d'autre part.

Sa pratique, dans les milieux bourgeois, faite de regards, sourires et effleurements est bien timide mais, signe de son caractère subversif, les représentations qui en sont faites sont apocalyptiques. A travers les « confidences et récits du moi » - journaux intimes ou oeuvres autobiographiques - et les « regards croisés sur l'autre » - presse, guides de séduction, ouvrages de moralité ou de médecine, romans, films et chansons -, ce travail montre comment, de 1870 a 1968, le flirt, de phénomène de c1asse sociale devient un phénomène de classe d'age, le modèle d'éducation sentimentale dominant, non plus puritain et duel, mais sensuel et partage. II montre comment ce jeu amoureux, en remplaçant Ie principe du « tout ou rien » par celui du « plus ou moins », a permis de dedramatiser Ie serieux de I'amour et de ses enjeux, et a appris à des generations de jeunes gens et de jeunes filles a naviguer entre soumission et insoumission, a ruser avec la loi et a la transformer de I'interieur. Ce travail montre aussi comment Ie flirt a rapproche les sexes et redéfini les rapports de domination. Comment, faisant le lit du mariage d'amour et préparant celui des amours libres, il a dissocie expériences erotico-sentimentales et engagement, sexualité et procréation.

Ce mémoire de maîtrise en recherche-création se divise en deux parties, soit un recueil de fictions et un essai théorique. Le bleu des garçons regroupe douze fictions interrogeant le désir masculin. La forme versifiée des textes explore la frontière entre prose et poésie, alors que la mobilisation de stratégies narratives variées et d’un style minimaliste exacerbe les non-dits de chaque situation, tout en brouillant la ligne entre le réel et l’imaginaire. Qu’ils soient fils, oncles, amoureux, queers, traîtres ou voyageurs, les protagonistes de ces fictions se rejoignent à travers la mise en doute de leur identité, de leur sexualité et de leur rapport avec autrui dans un moment de crise concentré dans l’espace et le temps. En continuité avec les considérations narratologiques du recueil, «Pourquoi se refuser, ce soir, à cette supposition?» Imaginaire et contamination narrative dans Dix heures et demie du soir en été de Marguerite Duras étudie l’adhésion de la narration de ce roman aux fabulations de la protagoniste. Notre essai analyse comment l’émotion et les appréhensions croissantes de cette dernière, initiées par le désir, contaminent le regard narratif en focalisation interne et contribuent à l’objectif cognitif de l’œuvre : faire du sensible son événement central.
This Master’s Dissertation in research-creation splits in two parts: a collection of short fictions and a theoretical essay. Le bleu des garçons regroups twelve fictional stories questioning masculine desire. The texts’ versified form explores the limit between prose and poetry, while the use of various narrative strategies, along with a minimalist style, highlights every situation’s underlying sense and blurs the line between reality and imagination. They might be sons, uncles, lovers, queer men, traitors and travellers, the protagonists of these short fictions still come together as they challenge their identity, their sexuality and their relationship with others in a critical moment condensed in time and space. Ensuing from the creative part’s narratological issues, “Why refuse oneself, tonight, to this supposition?” Imagination and narrative contamination in Marguerite Duras’s Dix heures et demie du soir en été studies this novel’s narrative adherence to the protagonist’s imagination. Our essay analyses how the narration’s gaze and internal focalization are contaminated by the main character’s growing emotion and apprehensions initiated by desire, while assisting the book’s cognitive objective: making passion its central event.

Sexualitet och intimitet kan yttra sig på fler sätt än penetrativt sex, som handhållning och komplimanger. Vårdpersonal har som arbetsuppgift att hjälpa sina patienter att uppnå bästa möjliga hälsa och sexuell hälsa, samt att dokumentera detta, speciellt för sjuksköterskor. Syfte: Examensarbetets syfte var att belysa vårdpersonals erfarenheter vid samtal om sexualitet och intimitet med äldre som bor på särskilt boende. Metod: En litteraturstudie med kvalitativ ansats skrevs. Databaserna PubMed och CINAHL användes. Elva artiklar valdes och kvalitetsgranskades. Resultat: Ansvarsdiffusion rådde då en del av vårdpersonalen ansåg att det var en del av deras profession att ta upp sexualitet och intimitet, medan andra av vårdpersonalen ansåg att det var patientens ansvar att ta upp samtal om ämnet. Vårdpersonal upplevde samtalen som obekväma på grund av normer, rådande tabun kring ämnet och kunskapsbrist. Vårdpersonals bemötande varierade beroende på faktorer som uppväxt och religion. De handlade också olika beroende på sin bekvämlighetsnivå. Barriärer, kommunikationssvårigheter och normer hindrade öppen kommunikation om sexualitet mellan vårdpersonal och äldre. Konklusion: Det framkom att vårdpersonal kände sig obekväma och dåligt förberedda inför samtal med äldre om sexualitet och intimitet. Bristande stöd från arbetslaget och bristande eller icke-existerande rutiner till hur en ska gå tillväga spädde på tystnaden kring ämnet. Vidare utbildning inom ämnet behövs för att rutiner ska implementeras och för att vårdpersonal ska kunna utvecklas i sina professioner.
Background: Sexual health is a human right for everyone, including elderly people. Even though taboos and prejudices may contradict this. Sexuality and intimacy may show itself as more than penetrative sex, such as hand holding or compliments. It is included in nursing staffs’ duties to help their patient achieve the best possible health, sexual health, and to document this, especially for registered nurses. Aim: The aim of this literature review was to explore nursing staffs’ experiences in conversations about sexuality and intimacy with elderly people living in nursing homes. Method: A literature study with qualitative approach was written. The databases PubMed and CINAHL were used. Eleven articles were selected and quality-reviewed. Result: Diffusion of responsibility prevailed when some of the nursing staff felt that it was part of their profession to address sexuality and intimacy, while others of nursing staff thought that it was the patient's responsibility to raise conversations about the subject. Nursing staff experienced the conversations as uncomfortable due to norms, the current taboo about the subject and the lack of knowledge. Nursing staffs’ approach varied depending on factors such as upbringing and religion. They also acted differently depending on their level of comfort. Barriers, communication difficulties and norms prevented open communication about sexuality between nursing staff and elderly people. Conclusion: It was found that nursing staff felt uncomfortable and poorly prepared for conversations about sexuality and intimacy with elderly people. Lacking support from the work team and inadequate or non-existent routines on how to proceed increased the silence about the subject. Further education about the subject is needed to implement routines and to enable nursing staff to develop within their professions.

Este trabalho discute a construção da Masculinidade, na contemporaneidade, vista a partir do modelo Masculinidade Hegemônica e Heteronormativo, no qual os valores socialmente elaborados e desejados são transmitidos e repassados, de acordo com as necessidades históricas e contextuais. Para tal discussão, utilizamos incursões etnográficas em salas de bate-papo localizadas em sítios de relacionamento na internet e na revista Mean’s Health, como campo de pesquisa em que, como espaços de interrelações pessoais e meio de comunicação e informação, a manifestação das masculinidades encontra condições ideais de exposição, afirmação, negação e reelaboração. Os dados coletado foram analisados mediados teoricamente com base em três categorias analítica: sexualidade, gênero e identidade. Essas categorias analíticas deram suporte para compreender como a masculinidade se produz e reproduz, ora mantendo, ora subvertendo a ordem social, mostrando que a masculinidade passa, nos dias de hoje, por mudanças em sua concepção, da qual podemos denominar de masculinidades
This paper discusses the construction of masculinity, in contemporary, seen from the model and heteronormative hegemonic masculinity, in which values are socially produced and desired transmitted and transferred, in accordance with the historical and contextual needs. For this discussion, we use incursions ethnographic in rooms chat located in sites dating on the internet and in magazine Mean's Health as a research field in which, as spaces for inter-personal relations and means of communication and information, the manifestation of masculinities find ideal conditions of exposure, affirmation and reprocessing. The data collected were analyzed theoretically mediated based on three analytical categories: sexuality, gender and identity. These analytical categories have provided support to understand how masculinity is produced and reproduced, sometimes keeping, sometimes subverting the social order, showing that masculinity is, nowadays, by changes in its design, which we may call masculinity

Abstract (sommario):
Through empirical, qualitative research and theorisation of the associated findings, this thesis investigates how certain children's homes may operate, making specific reference to sexuality and sexual abuse issues. Two children's homes in two different local authorities were researched via ethnographic research over a two year period. This involved utilising participant observation techniques in conjunction with formal interviews and documentary analysis. The documentary analysis entailed analysing logbooks, care plans and policy or practice documents around residential care and sexuality. The number of interviews conducted as part of the ethnographic fieldwork totalled 39 and the interviewees were comprised of residential workers, managers, social workers and children. This fieldwork was supplemented by 64 non-ethnographic interviews with residential staff, ex residents and other relevant personnel such as HIV workers. Both contemporaneous and historical practices and perspectives were evaluated, information about historical practices being drawn from interviews with some workers and ex-residents and from analysis of past documents in the ethnographic studies. Overall information was gained about over 100 different settings and 14 different local authorities. The empirical work commenced in 1994 and was concluded in 1997. Additionally media documents relating to scandals surrounding the sexual abuse of children in these settings were analysed. Children's homes are 'last resort' residential settings that children, predominantly abused teenagers, or those with behavioural problems are placed in by local authorities. Although the monolithic Victorian poorhouses and asylums were their historical predecessors, contemporary children's homes are now becoming increasingly smaller and many are intra community located. Despite assumptions by some commentators that these settings are no longer institutionalised this research showed the converse; many typically incorporating most of the characteristics delineated by Goffman (1961) as defining 'total institutions'. These features included isolation, uniform treatment of residents, rigid regimes, an emphasis on surveillance and control, and divisive child and staff cultures. These institutionalised settings intensified both the potential for, and the actual occurrence of, sexual and other forms of abuse of children by peers, staff and outsiders. Local authorities perpetuated the abuse not only by inadequate training, policies and support but often by failing to investigate allegations or follow them through thorough! y. The social construction of childhood induding child and adolescent, gendered sexuality, affected how children were perceived both generally and with regard to sexuality in these settings. This led to a protectionist, paternalist stance towards children in care which allowed them little voice and few rights. 11 The sexual beliefs, behaviour and responses of both children and staff were also examined in a deconstructionist manner which revealed the impossibility of separating sexuality from notions of either sex or gender. Sexed, sexualised and gendered behaviour was therefore shown to be performative and also subject to interiorisation, although simultaneously incorporating massive anomalies and instabilities. Both the notions of performative gender and institutionalisation were then broadened and evaluated in terms of a wider analysis of power. The institutionalisation and stigmatisation of children in children's homes was shown to be linked at micro, meza and macro levels with concepts of class, dangerousness and deviance. The sexual beliefs and behaviour of staff, children and the organisations they are embedded within was also found not only to be influenced by the settings and organisations themselves but by wider, gendered, legal, social and psychological structures, laws and discourses.

Nessa dissertaÃÃo, desenvolvo minha narrativa a partir dos conflitos pessoais e sociais desses indivÃduos, mostrando tambÃm outras formas de visÃo sobre o deficiente fÃsico, que estÃo ligadas à erotizaÃÃo dos corpos desviantes e à pornografia da deficiÃncia. A metodologia utilizada decorreu de uma necessidade proveniente do prÃprio campo de estudo, a netnografia foi, portanto, a ferramenta mais conveniente, jà que possibilita a interaÃÃo atravÃs da internet, o que proporcionou uma maior acessibilidade aos e dos interlocutores. As entrevistas realizadas foram mediadas primeiramente presencialmente e posteriormente por vÃdeo conferÃncia.
The objective of this study is to analyze how men with spinal cord injury experience their sexuality from a different body/identity as paraplegia or quadriplegia, considering the interference of erotic and effective exchanges in these experiments. In this dissertation, I have developed my narrative from personal and social conflicts of these individuals, also showing another ways of seeing the handicapped, which are linked to the eroticism of outsider bodies and pornography of handicap. The methodology used is the product of a need from the field of study itself, so the nethnography was the most convenient tool, because it allows interaction through the internet, which afforded better accessibility to and for interlocutors. Firstly, the interviews were in person and later mediated by videoconferencing.

RESUMO A lesão medular acarreta conseqüências trágicas à vida de uma pessoa. Essa lesão causa a paraplegia (parte inferior do tronco) ou tetraplegia (paralisia dos quatro membros), além de significativas alterações nas funções motoras e sensitivas, porque a medula é um centro regulador que controla importantes funções dentre as quais as atividades sexuais. A sexualidade foi eleita como temática central deste estudo, por que ela constitui-se em um aspecto relevante das perdas sofridas pelos lesados medulares. Tais perdas são constatadas empiricamente, nos atendimentos, pela equipe de reabilitação, quando o paciente traz expectativas e ansiedades em relação a seus problemas pessoais e conjugais. Esse estudo teve como objetivo conhecer e compreender especificidades do lesado medular em suas relações afetivas e sexuais, tendo em vista contribuir para a qualidade de vida individual e familiar dos mesmos, bem como auxiliar profissionais e políticas de reabilitação. Trata-se de uma pesquisa trilhada pela metodologia qualitativa fenomenológica ancorada na perspectiva da psicologia existencial humanista e na ontologia da filosofia do diálogo de Martin Buber. Participaram dez homens com lesão medular adquirida, na faixa etária de 24 a 50 anos, casados e solteiros, que recebem atendimento em uma clínica de fisioterapia na cidade de Ribeirão Preto São Paulo, com disponibilidade para responder questões semi estruturadas com a finalidade de oferecer dados para caracterizar o perfil de cada colaborador e como também para participar de uma ou mais entrevista, gravada, mediante sigilo de identificação. Essa entrevista foi mediada pela questão: Descreva-me acerca da sua sexualidade ao longo de sua vida e, em especial, após a lesão medular. Os depoimentos foram submetidos aos momentos de análise que se constituem em: leitura global de todos; releitura de cada um - apreensão das unidades de significados; agrupamento em categorias; convergências e divergências dos significados e analise compreensiva e análise geral do fenômeno indagado. Os resultados apontam para análise compreensiva das cinco categorias: 1ª) A vivência da sexualidade antes da lesão medular adquirida; 2ª) Percepção de estar com uma lesão medular adquirida; 3ª)O relacionamento com a companheira;4ª) A vivência da sexualidade após o corpo adquirir a lesão medular; 5ª) A pessoa com lesão medular adquirida e seus projetos de vida. A interpretação dos depoimentos revela desolamento, solidão, revolta, dores pela desestruturação da vida pessoal, familiar e profissional desencadeada pela lesão. Essa realidade remete-os a um modo de ser identificado pela ontologia buberiana de superficial e impessoal. A reabilitação é apontada como uma possibilidade de integração e replanificação do projeto de vida pessoal, familiar e profissional. ABSTRACT Medullar lesion causes tragic consequences to a persons life. This lesion causes paraplegia (paralysis of the lower part of the trunk) or tetraplegia (paralysis of the four limbs), in addition to significant alterations in the motor and sensitive functions, because the medulla is a regulating center that controls important functions, within which the sexual activities. Sexuality was chosen as the central theme of this study, because it constitutes a relevant aspect of the losses suffered by men with acquired medullar lesion. Such losses are verified empirically in the assistance given by the rehabilitation team, when the patient brings expectancies and anxieties in relation to his personal and marital problems. What is this, the sexuality of men with acquired medullar lesion? It is a research based on the phenomenological qualitative methodology anchored on the perspective of humanist existential psychology and on Martin Bubers ontology of dialogue philosophy. Ten married and unmarried males with acquired medullar lesion, at the age range of 24 to 50 years, who receive assistance in a physiotherapic clinic in the city of Ribeirão Preto, state of São Paulo, participated in the research with the objective of offering data to characterize the profile of each collaborator, as well as to take part in a recorded interview, under the condition of secrecy in their identification. Such interview was mediated by the request: Talk about your sexuality along your life and, especially, after the occurrence of your medullar lesion. Their statements were submitted to the moments of analysis of phenomenological reduction, which are composed of: a global reading of all of them; a rereading of each one;an aprehension of the units of meanings; a grouping into categories; convergences and divergences of the meanings and a comprehensive analysis of the following five categories: 1st) The experience of sexuality before the occurrence of the medullar lesion; 2nd) The perception of having an acquired medullar lesion; 3rd) The relationship with his mate after the occurrence of the acquired medullar lesion; 4th) The experience of sexuality after his body acquired the medullar lesion; 5th) The male individual with acquired medullar lesion and his life projects. The interpretation of the statements reveals desolation, loneliness, indignation, resentment for the disruption of their professional, familiar and personal lives, brought about by the lesion. This reality places them in a way of being identified by the Buberian ontology as superficial and impersonal. Their rehabilitation is pointed out as a possibility of integration for a professional, familiar and personal life project.

Resumo: Este trabalho discute a construção da Masculinidade, na contemporaneidade, vista a partir do modelo Masculinidade Hegemônica e Heteronormativo, no qual os valores socialmente elaborados e desejados são transmitidos e repassados, de acordo com as necessidades históricas e contextuais. Para tal discussão, utilizamos incursões etnográficas em salas de bate-papo localizadas em sítios de relacionamento na internet e na revista Mean's Health, como campo de pesquisa em que, como espaços de interrelações pessoais e meio de comunicação e informação, a manifestação das masculinidades encontra condições ideais de exposição, afirmação, negação e reelaboração. Os dados coletado foram analisados mediados teoricamente com base em três categorias analítica: sexualidade, gênero e identidade. Essas categorias analíticas deram suporte para compreender como a masculinidade se produz e reproduz, ora mantendo, ora subvertendo a ordem social, mostrando que a masculinidade passa, nos dias de hoje, por mudanças em sua concepção, da qual podemos denominar de masculinidades
Abstract: This paper discusses the construction of masculinity, in contemporary, seen from the model and heteronormative hegemonic masculinity, in which values are socially produced and desired transmitted and transferred, in accordance with the historical and contextual needs. For this discussion, we use incursions ethnographic in rooms chat located in sites dating on the internet and in magazine Mean's Health as a research field in which, as spaces for inter-personal relations and means of communication and information, the manifestation of masculinities find ideal conditions of exposure, affirmation and reprocessing. The data collected were analyzed theoretically mediated based on three analytical categories: sexuality, gender and identity. These analytical categories have provided support to understand how masculinity is produced and reproduced, sometimes keeping, sometimes subverting the social order, showing that masculinity is, nowadays, by changes in its design, which we may call masculinity

O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar as questões de gênero e sexualidade suscitadas a partir da presença de professores homens que atuam nos Anos Iniciais do Ensino Fundamental em duas roças no interior da Bahia. Ao longo do processo de generificação das profissões, diversos ofícios foram feminizados. Contudo, o magistério se destaca entre os demais, pois ainda hoje há uma acentuada demarcação dessa profissão como ideal para as mulheres. A pesquisa situa-se nos campos teóricos dos estudos de gênero, estudos culturais e pós-estruturalismo e estudos das masculinidades. A roça foi compreendida na pesquisa enquanto um lugar generificado e sexualizado que apresenta seus próprios discursos nas construções de gênero e sexualidade. Embora não seja o foco central da pesquisa a Educação do/no Campo também é abordada na dissertação, uma vez que é nessa modalidade de ensino que as duas escolas pesquisadas estão inseridas. A metodologia escolhida foi a etnografia e como procedimentos de produção de dados foram utilizadas a observação-participante, a elaboração do caderno de anotações e entrevistas-semiestruturadas Foram entrevistados dezesseis adultos, sendo pais, professores/as gestores/as e quatro crianças, duas de cada escola. Além das conversas informais com diversos atores sociais da comunidade escolar e rural, mas os três professores homens são considerados os principais informantes da pesquisa. A partir das análises realizadas é possível concluir que a presença dos professores homens na docência com crianças ainda desperta questionamentos, tensões e pânicos morais. Foi possível observar que essas construções discursivas refletem nas suas aulas e na relação com as crianças. A partir dos dados produzidos emergiram três categorias analíticas centrais: o medo da pedofilia, os questionamentos em torno das masculinidades dos professores e as práticas pedagógicas que buscam um distanciamento de qualquer elemento considerado culturalmente como feminino. Por meio de diferentes discursos esses homens ao optarem por uma profissão historicamente feminizada são vistos como fora do lugar.
The current paper aimed to analyze gender and sexuality issues aroused from the presence of two male teachers who work in the First Years of Elementary School in two different sites in the countryside in the State of Bahia. Along the gender formation process present in the occupations, several ones were considered feminine. However, the teaching stands out from the others, once even today there is a pronounced demarcation of this profession as ideal for women. The present research is located in the theoretical fields of gender studies, cultural studies and also post-structuralism. The countryside was understood in the research as a gendered and sexualized place which presents its own discourses in the construction of gender and sexuality. Although it is not the central focus of this research, the Education in/of the countryside is also approached in the dissertation, once it is in this teaching modality that the two researched schools are inserted. The methodology chosen was the ethnography and as the data production procedures the participative-observation was utilized, as well as the elaboration of a diary for notes and also semi-structured interviews Sixteen adults were interviewed, among parents, teachers, school administrators as well as four children, two from each school. Besides the informal conversations with several social actors from the school community and the rural community, the three male teachers were considered the main informers of the research. From the carried analyzes it is possible to conclude that the presence of male teachers within the context of the teaching practicing with children still provokes questionings, tensions and moral panic. It was possible to observe that such discursive constructions are reflected in their classes and in their relation with the children. From the produced data, three central analytic categories emerged: the fear of pedophilia, the questionings around the teachers‟ masculinities and the pedagogical practices which search for a distance from any element culturally considered as feminine. By means of different discourses, these men, by opting for a historically feminine profession are seen as out of their places.

Bakgrund: Antalet ålderspensionärer kommer att öka i vilket medför ökade krav på framtidens hälso- och sjukvård. Äldres sexualitet är ett ämne som är stigmatiserat i samhället och inom vården, men är av betydelse då det är naturligt oavsett ålder. På ett vård- och omsorgsboende är den äldre beroende av vårdpersonal och vårdpersonalens attityder kan vara avgörande för den äldres sexuella hälsa. Syfte: Att undersöka vårdpersonalens attityder gentemot sexualitet hos personer över 65 år på vård och omsorgsboenden och vilka faktorer som påverkar attityderna. Metod: En litteraturöversikt enligt Friberg där resultatet bygger på elva utvalda originalartiklar som söktes fram via databaserna Cinahl och Ageline. Huvudsöktermerna som användes var: sexualitet, äldre, vård- och omsorgsboende och attityder. Resultat: Vårdpersonalens aktuella syn på äldres sexualitet påverkade hur de agerade när situationer uppstod. Negativa attityder karaktäriserades av låg ålder, mindre generell arbetserfarenhet, lägre utbildning och kunskap och ifall vårdpersonal identifierade sig som religiösa. Högre ålder, mer arbetserfarenhet, högre utbildning och mer kunskap medförde positivare attityder. Diskussion: Konsensusbegreppet hälsa och begreppet värdighet låg till grund för diskussionen. Huvudfokus låg på huruvida faktorer påverkar vårdpersonalens attityder samt vem den ansvarige är gällande äldres sexualitet.
Background: The number of pensioners will increase which leads to more demands on health care in the future. Elderly’s sexuality is a topic that is stigmatized in the society and within health care, but is meaningful because it’s a natural part of life regardless of age. In a nursing home, the elderly are dependent on health care workers for care and their attitudes may be crucial for the elderly’s freedom to express sexual behavior. Aim: To examine health care workers’ attitudes toward elderly’s sexuality in nursing homes and the factors that influence the attitudes. Method: A literature overview according to Fribergs method was conducted where the results are based on eleven original scientific articles sought out through the databases Cinahl and Ageline. The main keywords used were: sexuality, elderly, nursing home and attitudes Results: Health care workers current views of older peoples’ sexuality influenced how they acted when situations arose. Negative attitudes were characterized by a young age, less general work experience, less education and knowledge and self-identification as religious. A higher age, more work experience, higher education and more knowledge led to more positive attitudes. Discussion: The concept of health and the term dignity helped support the discussion. The main focus lied on factors that affected health care workers’ attitudes as well as the question regarding responsibility when it comes to elderly’s sexuality.

Introdução No contexto da valorização crescente do teste anti-HIV como estratégia de prevenção programática, a promoção do teste anti-HIV como estratégia de prevenção entre homens que fazem sexo com homens (HSH) é fundamental. Objetivo - Analisar os fatores associados tanto ao uso rotineiro como episódico do teste anti-HIV. Métodos - Os participantes foram 946 HSH entrevistados pelo Projeto SampaCentro em locais de sociabilidade HSH da região central de São Paulo entre novembro de 2011 e janeiro de 2012, nunca testados ou que procuraram o teste espontaneamente. A metodologia de amostragem foi a time-space-sampling e foram utilizados protocolos do Stata 12.0 para análise de amostras complexas. Os homens que se testaram por rotina ou episodicamente foram comparados aos nunca testados. As variáveis analisadas nos dois modelos de regressão de Poisson foram divididas em três níveis: características sociodemográficas (primeiro nível); socialização na comunidade gay e exposição da orientação sexual, discriminação e opiniões e atitudes em relação ao HIV/Aids e ao teste (segundo nível); percepção de risco, estratégias de prevenção e práticas e parcerias sexuais (terceiro nível). Resultados Os homens que se testaram rotineiramente eram mais velhos e moradores no Centro de SP. Além disso, tinham exposto a orientação sexual para profissional de saúde, sido discriminados em serviços de saúde mas não por amigos e/ou vizinhos (em razão da sexualidade) e não mencionaram medo do resultado do teste como motivo para HSH não se testarem. Também tinham maior probabilidade de conhecer pessoa soropositiva e de ter parcerias estáveis sem sexo anal desprotegido nas casuais (comparado a ter apenas parcerias casuais protegidas). Os homens que se testaram episodicamente eram mais velhos, residentes do Centro de SP, não moravam com parentes, expuseram sua orientação sexual para profissional de saúde, não reportaram medo do resultado do teste como barreira, conheciam pessoa soropositiva e mencionaram parceria estável sem sexo desprotegido com parceiro casual ou então sexo desprotegido em parcerias casuais (comparado a ter apenas parcerias casuais protegidas). Conclusões Os mais jovens, os que moram fora do centro de São Paulo, e os que expões menos sua orientação sexual são os segmentos que menos se testam rotineira ou episodicamente. Assim, dependem de ações para que seu direito seja protegido e assegurado. A estigmatização e a discriminação da homossexualidade deve ser combatida para que não impeça o acesso ao teste e a outros serviços de saúde. Disseminar informações e socializar os mais jovens para o diálogo sobre as estratégias de prevenção biomédicas e estratégias comunitárias de prevenção é necessário. Para ampliar o acesso e qualidade da testagem como recurso fundamental de programas de prevenção permanece o desafio de sustentar o debate sobre sexualidade e prevenção a cada geração, assim como nos programas de formação de educadores e de profissionais de saúde de todas as áreas.
Introduction The relevance of HIV testing is growing in programmatic policies. Promoting HIV testing among men who have sex with men (MSM) is of utter importance. Objective Analyze factors associated with routine and episodic use of HIV testing. Methods Our participants were selected from the database of Projeto SampaCentro, a time-location sampling serobehavioral surveillance survey of MSM in São Paulo, Brazil, that took place between November 2011 and January 2012. Our participants were 946 MSM not HIV positive who were never tested or whose last testing was client-initiated. All analysis were performed using complex samples protocols in Stata 12.0. Men were divided in routine testers, episodic testers and men who had never tested. Routine testers and episodic testers were compared to those who had never tested using two Poisson regression models. Variables were divided in three levels of analysis: sociodemographic (first level); socialization in gay community and disclosure of sexual orientation, discrimination, attitudes and opinions on HIV/AIDS and testing (second level); risk perception, prevention strategies and sexual practices and partnerships (third level). Results Routine testers were older and lived in Central São Paulo, had more frequently disclosed their sexual orientation to a health professional and been discriminated against in health service settings, were less likely to having suffered discrimination from friends and/or neighbors and to point fear as a barrier to testing, were more likely to know someone infected with HIV and to mention steady partners without unprotected anal intercourse (UAI) with casual partners (compared to having only casual partners with no UAI). Episodic testers were also older and more likely to live in Central São Paulo, less likely to live with relatives, more likely to have disclosed their sexual orientation to a health professional, less likely to point fear as a barrier to testing, more likely to know someone infected with HIV. This group more frequently mentioned steady partners without UAI with casual partners and UAI with casual partners, regardless of mentioning steady partners (compared to having only casual partners with no events of UAI). Conclusion Young MSM, those who live outside Central São Paulo and those less ready to disclose their sexual orientation are the MSM segments that are less likely to test, routinely or episodically. Therefore, programmatic actions are needed to ensure their rights are protected. Stigmatization and discrimination of homosexuality must be mitigated so that it wont be a barrier to information about prevention and testing services. Additionally, information on biomedical and communitarian prevention technologies must be shared and presented to those not yet familiar with these strategies. In order to improve access and quality of testing, the challenge of sustaining the debate about sex, sexuality and prevention remains, as new generations of MSM will need to be introduced to this debate. The same is true for the course curriculum of health professionals and educators.

The objective of this study is to analyze how men with spinal cord injury experience their sexuality from a different body/identity as paraplegia or quadriplegia, taking into account the interference of erotic and effective exchanges in these experiments. In this dissertation, I develop my narrative from personal and social conflicts these individuals, also showing other forms of vision for the handicapped, wich are linked to the bodies of deviante eroticism and pornography of disability. The methodology used resulted from a need from their own field of study, so the nethnography was the most convenient tool, because it allows interation through the internet, wich provided greater accessibility to and interlocutors. Firstly, the interviews were in person and later mediated by videoconferencing.
O objetivo deste estudo é analisar como homens com lesão medular vivenciam sua sexualidade a partir de uma diferença corporal/identitária como a paraplegia ou a tetraplegia, levando em conta a interferência das trocas eróticas e afetivas nestas experiências. Nessa dissertação, desenvolvo minha narrativa a partir dos conflitos pessoais e sociais desses indivíduos, mostrando também outras formas de visão sobre o deficiente físico, que estão ligadas à erotização dos corpos desviantes e à pornografia da deficiência. A metodologia utilizada decorreu de uma necessidade proveniente do próprio campo de estudo, a netnografia foi, portanto, a ferramenta mais conveniente, já que possibilita a interação através da internet, o que proporcionou uma maior acessibilidade aos e dos interlocutores. As entrevistas realizadas foram mediadas primeiramente presencialmente e posteriormente por vídeo conferência.

TITLE: SEXUALITY WORKPLACE ISSUES AMONG DIRECT SERVICE PERSONNEL WORKING WITH POPULATIONS WHO ARE INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED IN COMMUNITY INTEGRATED LIVING ARRANGEMENTS: A CASE STUDY MAJOR PROFESSOR: Dr. Roberta Ogletree Background: The purpose of this study was to explore DSP workplace experiences, preparation, employee training, emotions, and perceptions in regards to types of sexual and affectionate behaviors exhibited by intellectually disabled adults in their care in the CILA setting. The study focused on analyzing these topics in relation to sexuality/affectionate behaviors experienced in the CILA workplace using a qualitative case study method. This analysis provided an understanding of what ideas and values DSPs brought to their roles of guiding the sexuality/affectionate behaviors of residents in their care and identified additional training needs from the DSP perspective to help them better do their jobs. Methods: Principles found in qualitative evaluation research were used to examine the influence of sexuality and affectionate behaviors and training within its naturally occurring world. The case was comprised of DSPs from the selected organization, located in a rural college town of approximately 25,000 people. Nine DSPs from five different CILA homes participated in the study. Data were generated using semi-structured interviews, observation of behaviors on interview video tapes, observation of emotional verbal cues on interview audio tapes, document analysis, and field notes. Results: Major themes were identified from data and organized around the research questions. Common categories under affectionate behaviors were dating, flirting, friendship/socialization, holding hands/hugging, media/technology, and problematic behaviors. Common categories under sexuality behaviors were groping, masturbation/females, masturbation/males, and problematic behaviors. Less common categories were affectionate behaviors-attention seeking/ego, sexuality behaviors – sexual intercourse, and sexuality behaviors – dating and marriage. Once data were categorized, each category’s responses were sorted to identify overarching theme areas for recommendations. The themes were Employee Training and Development, Socialization Needs (Affectionate Behaviors, Sexuality, and Relationships), and Language Issues (Positive, Negative, and First Person). Primary strengths identified included thinking of residents as family, the feeling of strong management support, and lack of significant conflict within the CILA homes. Elements that detracted from the DSP experience included low rate of hourly pay, employee turnover among DSP supervisors, lack of specific sexuality education for both staff and residents, limited retention of mandatory training topics, and lack of communication of sexuality policies and procedures. Conclusions were a need for additional training for DSPs and staff on the topics of human sexuality and affectionate behaviors in CILA homes; examining DSP training to increase knowledge retention in the staff; better communication of policies, procedures, and protocols regarding sexuality and affectionate behaviors that pertain to how situations are handled in CILA homes; and ensuring all training materials use first person language.

Esta pesquisa está situada no campo dos Estudos Culturais em Educação, desde uma perspectiva feminista e pós-estruturalista. Tomo como objeto de pesquisa o sítio de relacionamentos para homens gays www.disponivel.com. Através dele os internautas podem criar pequenas narrativas de si e apelidos para serem identificados online, bem como elaborar títulos para suas páginas pessoais, definir seus hobbies, selecionar fotografias e vídeos e publicá-los na internet. No estudo que faço, existe um conjunto de estranhamentos que me movem a pensar: por que aquelas páginas, por que motivo aqueles perfis - e não outros - são os "favoritos"? Como mapear as descrições de corpo e gênero mais "preferidas" do disponivel.com? Quais são os traços marcantes dos modos de ser homem gay postos nos perfis favoritos? Como se produzem aí as representações de corpo? Quais são as tensões presentes nas afirmações sobre identidade sexual (gay) e identidade de gênero (masculinidade)? Nos perfis analisados, os internautas aderem a um projeto mostrar-sombrear de partes específicas de seus corpos, o que produz um adensamento de significado em algumas zonas corpóreas. O pênis torna-se o rosto do corpo, subscrevendo o pertencimento ao gênero masculino e criando um modo pornográfico de ver o corpo e de dizer da sua masculinidade e sexualidade.
This research was made in the field of Cultural Studies in Education, in a feminist and post-structuralism perspective. I take as object for my research the www.disponivel.com, a website for gay men. On this website, its users can create short self-text and nicknames to be identified online, as well as create titles for their personal profiles, define their hobbies, select photographs and videos to be published on the internet. In this study there is a variety of questions I formulate: why do these profiles - and not other ones - are the favorites? How to describe the descriptions of body and gender published on the favorite profiles? What are the most impressive ways of being gay men shown on the favorite profiles? How does appear the representations of body? What are the tensions between sexual identities (gay) and gender identities (masculinities)? I take body as a cultural product of political and historical contexts. I also use a social, historical and political perspective of the gender concept, its ways of constructing among relations of power inside the culture, which institute subject-positions.

O acometimento por uma doença crônica como o câncer se constitui em uma ameaça à vida e tem repercussões físicas, psicológicas e sociais no decorrer da existência. No caso do câncer de próstata, sabe-se que seus tratamentos podem interferir na sexualidade masculina, causando perda do desejo sexual e disfunção erétil. Considerando esta realidade, o objetivo deste trabalho foi compreender o modo como homens com câncer de próstata vivenciam e atribuem significados à sua sexualidade. Optou-se pela metodologia da pesquisa qualitativa, na perspectiva da Fenomenologia Ontológico-Hermenêutica de Heidegger. E utilizou-se a história oral de vida como estratégia de acesso aos relatos dos colaboradores. Foram entrevistados 10 homens com câncer de próstata que foram submetidos a tratamentos, com idades entre 51 e 82 anos, pertencentes às classes econômicas D a B2. Os resultados dos relatos possibilitaram a construção de cinco categorias: 1) A temporalidade da infância e da adolescência; 2) A temporalidade da vida adulta: o casamento, a família e os relacionamentos afetivo-sexuais; 3) O adoecimento: as relações afetivo-sexuais após a vivência do câncer; 4) O horizonte do silêncio: o que vela e desvela o ser; e 5) Projeto de vida. A análise interpretativa desvelou a dor e o sofrimento desses homens ao apresentarem disfunção erétil e seqüelas no seu desempenho sexual, atributo do ideal de masculinidade advindo do sistema patriarcal. As vivências de dor remetem-se aos modos de existir autêntico e inautêntico. A inautenticidade foi observada na recusa em aceitar a facticidade da existência, ou seja, a concretude de um corpo que envelhece, adoece e deixa de responder ao desejo sexual. O acometimento pelo câncer de próstata potencializa o contato com a própria finitude, e alguns colaboradores fogem à angústia que surge quando se constata a possibilidade última e mais própria do existir: a morte. Esses homens buscam, então, os tratamentos disponíveis para a disfunção erétil e projetam seu porvir na possibilidade de voltarem a ter ereções satisfatórias, o que expressa o sonho do desempenho sexual vivido na juventude. Todavia, nessa trajetória, alguns colaboradores apresentaram um modo de existir autêntico, evidenciado pela compreensão da temporalidade de sua existência. Seus relatos desvelaram a consciência de que, por não poderem escapar à finitude, lhes resta aceitar as modificações na sexualidade e buscar vivenciá-la de acordo com seus limites e possibilidades. O modo de existir autêntico, que constitui a abertura do homem para o poder-ser-si-mesmo, foi desvelado na afetividade e no diálogo dos colaboradores com suas parceiras. Nesse momento em que os homens perdem a capacidade de ter ereções e sentem-se frágeis em sua masculinidade, se permitem expressar um aspecto fundamental da existência: a afetividade. A abertura para falar sobre si mesmo e ouvir sua parceira evidencia a dimensão do cuidado e da solicitude na relação afetivo-sexual. Os resultados deste estudo apontam para a compreensão ontológica do ser do homem com câncer de próstata na Pós-Modernidade e podem contribuir na construção de práticas de atenção à saúde mais humanizadas.
The effect for a chronic illness as cancer constitutes in a threat the life and has physical, psychological and social repercussions in elapsing of the existence. In the case of cancer of prostate, it is known that its treatment can intervene with the masculinity sexuality, causing loss of the sexual desire and erect dysfunction. Considering this reality, the objective of this work was to understand the way as men with cancer of prostate live deeply and attribute meanings to their sexuality. It was opted to the methodology of the qualitative research, in the perspective of the Martin Heidegger?s Ontological ? Hermeneutical Phenomenology. It was used verbal story of life as strategy of access to the stories of the collaborators. Ten men with cancer of prostate had been interviewed who had been submitted the treatments, with ages between 51 and 82 years, pertaining to economic classes D to B2. The results of the stories make possible the construction of five categories: 1) the temporality of infancy and the adolescence; 2) the temporality of the adult life: the affective marriage, family and sexual relationships; 3) the sickness: sexual affective relations after the experience of cancer; 4) the horizon of silence: what close and disclose the being; 5) life project. The interpretative analyzes exposed the pain and the suffering of these men when presenting erect dysfunction and aftermaths in their sexual performance, attribute of the ideal of masculinity happened of the patriarchal system. The pain experiences send the ways to it to exist authentic and fake. The fake way was observed in the refusal in accepting the fact of the existence, or either the acceptance of a body that ages, sickens and leaves to answer to the sexual desire. The effect for cancer of prostate elevates the contact with the proper end and some collaborators runs away to distresses that it appears when the last possibility is evidenced and more proper to exist: the death. These men search then, the available treatments for the erect dysfunction and project their future in the possibility to come back to have satisfactory erections, what express the dream of the lived sexual performance in youth. However, in this trajectory, some collaborators presents a way to exist authentic, evidenced for the understanding of the temporality of their existence. Their relates disclosed the conscience of that, for not being able to escape to the end, it remains to accept the modifications to them in the sexuality and in accordance with to live deeply their limits and possibilities. The way to exist authentic, that it constitutes the opening of the man to be able to be same itself, was disclosed in the affectivity and the dialogue of the collaborators with their partners. At this moment when the men lose the capacity to have erections and feel themselves fragile in their masculinity, if they allow expressing a basic aspect of the existence: the affectivity. The opening to speak about himself exactly and to hear his partner evidences the dimension of the care and the attention in the affective-sexual relation. The results of this study point with respect to the ontological understanding of the being of the man with cancer of prostate in Post-modernity and can contribute in the construction of practical of attention to health more humanized.

The aim of this study was to describe and analyse the constructions and

interplay of gender, ethnicity and sexuality between female and male careworkers

and residents in a nursing home. To explore this from a qualitative

everyday life’s approach, material was collected through participating observations,

interviews, and informal conversation with careworkers and residents.

The result points out that historical patterns of gender and caring related

to this context still matter and affect both careworkers and residents. For

example, female careworkers talked about the concept of caring as a genuine

female experience, while male careworkers, who were in a minority, instead

talked about caring in more gender-neutral words. The result also indicates

that a larger number of male careworkers not necessarily leads to a higher

grade of gender equality. Instead, the presence of male careworkers made the

traditional gender-power order more visible.

When analyzing outcomes of the interplay of gender, ethnicity and sexuality,

it was obvious that this was a complicated process. On one hand this

interplay of different categories seemed to affect female and male careworkers

in a similar way. On the other hand the interplay of gender, ethnicity and

sexuality can confront female and male careworkers with different types of

dilemmas. Therefore, an attempt to understand the position and experience

of being a careworker with non-Swedish background or being a nonheterosexual

careworker must include a gender-perspective.

A main result from the study was that the careworkers supported the residents

to perform their social gender-identity through the daily interactions.

These interactions were foremost influenced by the careworkers’ own expectations

about older women’s and older men’s needs and behaviour. The four

gender-constellations that occurred in the care-interactions also differed

from each other with regard to what careworkers and residents talked about,

and how they talked and acted. Even if the outcome from different types of

gendered meetings differed, there were also some similarities. It was obvious

that both female and male careworkers seemed to think and talk about the

female residents as more dependent and vulnerable than male residents. To

conclude, traditional norms and a gender-power order that influences society

also affects careworkers and residents in the nursing home.

Detta är en studie vars syfte ämnar till att undersöka vilken roll vårdpersonal har i att ge de äldre möjligheter till sexualitet under tiden de är boende på äldreboende samt hur de arbetar med äldres sexualitet. Vår ambition är att ta reda på hur vårdpersonal bemöter och arbetar med frågor som rör de äldres sexualitet samt vilka förutsättningar det finns för intimitet på äldreboenden. För att utforska detta valde vi att genomföra semistrukturerade kvalitativa intervjuer med vårdpersonal yrkesverksamma vid ett antal olika äldreboenden i Stockholm med omnejd. Den insamlade empirin har därefter analyserats med hjälp av Pierre Bourdieus teori om fält och doxa.                       Studiens huvudresultat visar att äldres sexualitet ses som en ickefråga och att frågan därför inte aktivt arbetas med. Studien visar även att det går att lokalisera en rådande doxa på det här fältet som i sin tur påverkar vårdpersonalens bemötande. Vårdpersonal ser äldres sexualitet som privat och undviker därför gärna att prata om det. Eftersom vårdpersonal har denna syn påverkar det även vilka anpassningar det görs i den fysiska miljön för att äldre ska kunna uppleva intimitet och fysisk närhet. Slutligen visar studien att för att kunna bemöta och arbeta med frågor rörande sexualitet måste vårdpersonal ha relevant kunskap vilket vidareutbildning inom sexologi skulle kunna ge.
The purpose of this study is to investigate what role nursing staff have in providing the elderly with opportunities for sexuality while living in retirement homes and how they work issues regarding the sexuality of older people. Our ambition is to find out how nursing staff respond to and deal with issues related to elderly people's sexuality and which possibilities for intimacy there is in retirement homes. To investigate this, we chose to conduct semi-structured qualitative interviews with nursing staff at a number of different retirement homes in Stockholm and surrounding areas. The collected data has then been analyzed using Pierre Bourdieu's theory of field and doxa.                       The study's main findings show that elderly people's sexuality is seen as a non-question and therefore not a subject nursing staff actively work with. The study also shows that a prevailing doxa can be located in this field, which in turn affects the treatment given by nursing staff. Nursing staff see elderly people's sexuality as something private and therefore avoids talking about it. Because nursing staff have this view, it also influences what adjustments are made in the physical environment in order for the elderly to experience intimacy and physical proximity. Finally, the study shows that in order to respond to and work with issues related to sexuality, nursing staff must have relevant knowledge which further education in sexology could provide.

In Sweden there is a limited research about adults with intellectual disabilities and their sexuality through a social work perspective. This study aims to study how workers in group homes and their managers describes the residents sexuality and describes how they approaches their sexuality at work. And if there’s any facilities or hindrance that affects the sexual space. 5 semi-structured interviews with managers and coordinators, and 3 focus groups with carers where made. For analysis script theory and the charmed circle have been used. The result shows that people who works at group homes has no guidance or collective ways to approach sexuality in their work. They talk about an open approach but often describes the residents as asexual and connects sexuality with the level of disabilities. The respondents acknowledge that they need more knowledge. The conclusion is that there’s a need for more knowledge and guidance for people who work at group homes to extend the space for sexuality for adults with intellectual disabilities.

I grew up writing private diaries. However, when I got my masters degree, I was invited to re-read my writings. As I re-read it I realized that I did not write about the racial issue. This absence became a highly relevant fact that made me realize and question myself about the powerful of schooling that taught me to be a man, or rather to be male, white, heterosexual and christian, fundamentally. So today, I visualize that a "pedagogy" circulates within different educational spaces (at school, in the family, in religious spaces, in leisure spaces, in the media, in the street, at work, etc.) that ends up (re)producing inequalities of race, gender and sexuality. In this perspective, social markers of race, gender and sexuality will be presented in a vision, intersectional, polymorphic and polyphonic. According to Narrative Studies; I conjugate the verb to write/search attached to the verb to exist. And so, I'm narrating what happens to me, I write what touches me as a minor people, bastard, always unfinished.
Eu cresci escrevendo di?rios ?ntimos. No entanto, quando cheguei ao mestrado, fui convidado a re-ler os meus escritos. ? medida que ia re-lendo percebi que n?o escrevia sobre a quest?o racial. Essa aus?ncia, tornou-se um dado altamente relevante que fez com que eu percebesse e me questionasse sobre os poderosos ?instrumentos de escolariza??o? que me ensinaram a ser homem, ou melhor, a ser macho, branco, heterossexual e crist?o, fundamentalmente. Ent?o, hoje, visualizo que no interior de diferentes espa?os educativos (na escola, na fam?lia, nos espa?os religiosos, nos espa?os de lazer, na m?dia, na rua, no trabalho, etc) circula uma ?pedagogia? que acaba por (re)produzir desigualdades de ra?a, g?nero e sexualidade. Nesta perspectiva, os marcadores sociais de ra?a, g?nero e sexualidade ser?o apresentados em uma vis?o, interseccional, polim?rfica e polif?nica. Essa pesquisa resultou das inquietaÃÃes provocadas por nossa prÃtica clÃnico-hospitalar com homens portadores de cÃncer peniano submetidos à amputaÃÃo cirÃrgica do pÃnis. Percebemos, quanto a isso, a existÃncia de uma dissimetria entre o discurso desses homens e aquele sustentado pela medicina e pela psico-oncologia, o qual à centrado, sobretudo, no funcionamento sexual amparado na anatomia e fisiologia. Essa nÃo-coincidÃncia nos despertou o desejo de problematizar essa questÃo em uma pesquisa de mestrado, tendo em vista as possibilidades de favorecer em nosso trabalho, junto a essa equipe, uma maior coerÃncia entre o acompanhamento desses pacientes e suas experiÃncias para com esse dano real sofrido. Nosso objetivo geral foi investigar o impacto da penectomia na sexualidade masculina; e os especÃficos, identificar possÃveis saÃdas encontradas pelo sujeito para a satisfaÃÃo pulsional na ausÃncia do pÃnis e verificar os destinos desse impacto em relaÃÃo aos pontos de ancoragem da virilidade e seus respectivos deslocamentos. Para tanto, procuramos, na medida do possÃvel, escutar esses homens a partir da tÃcnica analÃtica, abstendo-nos de dirigirmos suas falas, embora nÃo se tratasse estritamente de uma psicanÃlise. Destarte, procuramos estabelecer uma maior coerÃncia entre a nossa pesquisa e a clÃnica psicanalÃtica, espaÃo privilegiado da pesquisa psicanalÃtica no sentido que lhe à dado por Freud e Lacan. Escutamos seis sujeitos, por ocasiÃo de suas revisÃes pÃs-cirÃrgicas, oriundos do ServiÃo de Urologia do Hospital do CÃncer do Cearà â ICC, local onde se deu a nossa prÃtica para com eles. O tempo decorrido desde a cirurgia atà o encontro conosco variou de dez meses a trÃs anos, e a mÃdia de idade das pessoas atendidas foi de 60,5 anos. ApÃs cada encontro, as falas dos sujeitos foram anotadas e, posteriormente, relatadas sob a forma de vinheta clinica. Assim, mantivemo-nos fiÃis aos significantes por eles produzidos, inerentes Ãs suas subjetividades e nÃo a um saber prÃvio a elas. Quanto aos resultados obtidos, destacamos: a dissociaÃÃo entre amor e desejo presente na vida amorosa dos sujeitos pesquisados; o confronto com a tarefa de reconstruir a imagem viril, perante a mulher e os outros homens, sem o sustentÃculo imaginÃrio fornecido pela anatomia; a tendÃncia de elaborar o sem sentido da doenÃa e da cirurgia atribuindo-as ao exercÃcio da virilidade junto a outras mulheres, que nÃo a esposa; e a ausÃncia de âvida sexualâ para os que ainda possuem o coto peniano, contrariando o que preconiza o saber mÃdico quanto à capacidade de gozo sexual dos pacientes parcialmente penectomizados. ConcluÃmos que atravÃs de uma escuta psicanalÃtica foi possÃvel perceber que, no discurso desses sujeitos, a sexualidade se mostra, de certo modo, refratÃria aos modelos reabilitadores restritos à dimensÃo funcional da sexualidade e, portanto, redutÃveis ao comportamento dos mesmos quando do ato sexual. Isso evidenciou a relevÃncia de um trabalho mais abrangente para com eles, nÃo restrito a intervenÃÃes pedagÃgicas, com o intuito de fazer com que eles elaborem a perda sofrida e possam lidar de forma simbÃlica com a sua nova realidade, inclusive corporal.
This research arises from our restlessness concerning clinical and hospital-related practice involving men suffering from penile cancer who underwent surgical removal of the penis. We perceived that there was dissonance between these men‟s discourse and that one advanced by medical community and psycho-oncologists, centered mainly on sexual functioning as supported by anatomy and physiology. That discrepancy aroused our desire to tackle the issue by means of a master‟s research considering the possibilities of improving with this work a more coherent design for the follow-up of the patients and their experiences related to a serious damage sustained. Our general objective was to evaluate the impact of penectomy on male sexuality; and, as specific objectives to identify possible alternatives found by patients to fulfill the satisfaction drive in face of penile absence, and ascertain where the reflecting impact would end considering virility anchorage points. Leaning on analytical techniques, we tried to listen to these men, avoiding directing their speeches, considering that this was not psychoanalytical sessions. We tried to establish a more coherent design between our research and psychoanalytical practice, a privileged tool adopted by psychoanalytical research if one considers the meaning of this tool as developed by Freud and Lacan. We heard six subjects during their post-surgical evaluation visits, all of them referred by the Urological Service from the Cancer Hospital of the State of CearÃ, where we developed our research. The time between surgical procedure and our encounter with subjects ranged from 10 to 36 months, mean age of them being 60.5 years. After each encounter, we took notes of the subjects‟ speeches, and later presented them as a clinical sketch. Thus, we kept ourselves tuned to major issues inherent to patients‟ subjectivities and not to previous knowledge that we could have about those values. As upshots of our investigative work, we can highlight the dissociation between love and desire in the amorous lives of subjects; the struggle of them to rebuild their virile image in face of female counterpart and other men, lacking as they were the strong imaginary force provided by anatomy; the trend to elaborate on life‟s meaninglessness as a result from disease and surgery preventing them from exerting their virility in relation to other women but the wife; the absence of âsexual lifeâ for those who maintain a penile stump, thus disputing the medical knowledge that propounds existence of a capability for sexual pleasure by patients who underwent partial penectomy. We concluded that by means of a psychoanalytical hearing technique it was possible to assess from the subjects‟ discourse that sexuality presents itself to a certain extent resistant to rehabilitating models based solely on its functional dimension, and, therefore, restricted to patient behavior in relation to the sexual act. This disclosed the importance of a more extensive work with those patients without restricting itself to pedagogical interventions, but aiming at making patients elaborate on their loss and help them tackle in a symbolic way their new reality, including bodily configuration.

Genom definitionen av sexualitet från Världshälsoorganisationen (WHO) tydliggörs sexualitetens centrala och grundläggande del av att vara människa. Rätten att oberoende av bland annat funktionsnedsättning själv bestämma över sin kropp och sexualitet står formulerad i de mänskliga rättigheterna, vilka förtydligas ytterligare i konventionen om rättigheter för personer med funktionsnedsättningar. För personer med intellektuella funktionsnedsättningar har omgivningen och framförallt yrkesverksammas attityder och föreställningar kring sexualitet visat sig påverka möjligheterna till dessa sexuella rättigheter. I detta tar denna studie sin utgångspunkt. Syftet för studien är att identifiera och belysa attityder och föreställningar kopplat till sexualitet, kön och intellektuella funktionsnedsättningar bland yrkesverksamma inom gruppbostäder enligt LSS. Vidare syftar studien också till att belysa yrkesverksammas syn på den egna rollen i relation till stödanvändares sexualitet. Genom semistrukturerade intervjuer, vilka kompletterades med vinjetter, har materialet till undersökningen samlats in och vidare analyserats. Resultatet tyder på överlag positiva och tillåtande attityder och föreställningar bland yrkesverksamma. Gällande kön uppvisades vissa skillnader bland de yrkesverksammas föreställningar, vilka främst berörde risker för sexuella övergrepp. Av resultatet framkom vidare en central upplevelse av ansvar. De yrkesverksamma uttryckte att det genom deras yrkesroll åligger dem ett ansvar att såväl stötta, främja, skydda och möjliggöra för stödanvändare att uttrycka och utveckla sin sexualitet. Vidare uttrycktes svårigheter att veta hur detta ansvar kan erbjudas i form av stöd och ett behov av vägledande riktlinjer som stöttar yrkesverksamma i situationer kring stödbehov kopplat till sexualitet blev tydligt.
From the definition of sexuality by the World Health Organization (WHO), sexuality stand as a central and fundamental part of being human. The right to independently, regardless of e.g. disabilities, decide over your own body and sexuality is written in the declaration of human rights, which is further clarified in the convention of the rights of people with disabilities. For individuals with intellectual disabilities, the surrounding community and foremost the professionals’ attitudes and perceptions about sexuality, has proven to influence the concession of these sexual rights. The aim of this study is to identify and elucidate attitudes and perceptions connected to sexuality, gender and intellectual disabilities among professionals working at group homes in accordance with LSS. Further, this study aims to illuminate the professionals’ view on their own role, relating to the user’s sexuality. Semi-structured interviews, supplemented with case-descriptions, formed the material which was then transcribed and further analysed. The results mainly indicates positive and allowing attitudes and perceptions among the professionals. Regarding gender, certain discrepancies among the professionals’ perceptions were shown, which mainly concerned the risks of sexual abuse. The personnel articulated that, embedded in their professional role, laid a responsibility to support, enable and protect the users’ opportunities to express and develop their sexuality. Further, difficulties knowing how this responsibility could be offered as support was expressed by the sample. A need for guidelines serving the professionals in situations connected to user-support and sexuality was identified as essential.

La lesión medular traumática es un proceso sobrevenido que supone una necesidad de adaptación de la sexualidad a la nueva realidad. Objetivo principal: conocer el estado de la salud sexual de los hombres y mujeres con lesión medular traumática. Método: estudio cualitativo-cuantitativo con 3 partes: - Revisión de historias clínicas para conocer el registro de la sexualidad en las mismas. - Análisis sobre la salud sexual mediante cuestionarios. - Análisis mediante Teoría Fundamentada de entrevistas en profundidad sobre las vivencias en su sexualidad a raíz de la lesión. Conclusiones: El registro sobre sexualidad por parte de los profesionales es escaso, tanto en cantidad como en calidad. Traumatic spinal cord injury due to its sudden and unexpected nature, implies a need to adapt sexuality to the new reality. The objective of this work is to know the state of sexual health of men and women with traumatic spinal cord injury. To do this, a review of electronic medical records was carried out, sexual health was analyzed using self-reported questionnaires and in-depth interviews were carried out to analyze sexual changes as a result of the injury. After spinal cord injury, sexual identity, the experience of sexuality, eroticism and lovemaking need to be readjusted. The desire, interest and importance given within the couple's relationship to erotic relationships are maintained, although satisfaction with them decreases. Little support is detected from health professionals in advising and accompanying this process.

Cette thèse propose une lecture du changement social chez les Na de Chine à partir d’un terrain effectué dans deux villages na pendant onze mois et demi entre 2012 et 2014. L’analyse est structurée autour de la situation touristique qui constitue, en tant que contexte, le fil conducteur pour saisir les transformations de différents domaines du monde social na. Deux niveaux d’analyse se dégagent de l’ensemble, la maisonnée et les personnes. Les maisonnées en tant qu’unité sociale de base de l’organisation sociale déterminent à la fois les relations entre proches et la socialité na ainsi que la reproduction sociale. Les personnes ont permis de mettre en perspective les pratiques et les discours des Na quant à leurs intimités. L’approche comparative constitue une méthodologie permettant de restituer les transformations du point de vue que les Na estiment eux-mêmes comme signifiant. Le tout s’attache à mettre en évidence que de nouvelles valeurs et désirs amenés par la confrontation d’individus, aux univers culturels, politiques et économiques différents, avec l’entreprise touristique ont reconfigurés à la fois les actions économiques des maisonnées et les affects des Na en ce qui concerne leurs relations intimes. Afin de continuer à faire prospérer leurs maisonnées, les Na se sont adaptés à l’économie de marché en remodulant les pratiques d’entraides et d’échanges qui participaient de la socialité na. Si des formes d’indigénisation de l’économique se donnent à voir, la mise en concurrence des maisonnées sur le marché touristique transforme les pratiques même de ces maisonnées. De nouveaux arrangements intimes participent également de ces transformations. Les nouveaux désirs et affects des Na montrent que les sociabilités sexuelles, plutôt que de dépendre d’un ordre social collectif et donc des impératifs et besoins pragmatiques de la maisonnée, sont aujourd’hui pensés en termes de désirs individuels. L’ethnographie menée démontre ainsi que de nouvelles dynamiques sexuelles recomposent la société na, avec pour conséquence une préférence pour la conjugalité, le mariage ou la cohabitation. Cette thèse propose ainsi de saisir la manière dont la situation touristique a recomposé les pratiques et les désirs, na au point de reconfigurer les maisonnées et les relations entre proches par l’apparition de nouvelles stratégies économiques et de nouvelles économies de l’intimité. Nourrie d’une anthropologie dynamique du changement social et d’une perspective anthropologique de l’économie-politique, la thèse propose un canevas d’analyse croisant les maisonnées, les relations entre proche, la sexualité et le tourisme. The analysis is based on the study of the “touristic situation” which constitutes, as context and analysis framework, the guiding thread to capture the transformations of different areas of the social world. Two levels of analysis emerge: the house and personhood. The former as a basic social unit of the social organization determines both relatedness and sociality as well as social reproduction. The latter (personhood) puts in perspective the Na practices and narratives about their intimacies. The comparative approach, here preferred, is a methodology for restoring transformations from the point of view that the Na themselves consider significant. The thesis aims to highlight the new values and desires brought by the confrontation of individuals from different cultural, political and economic universes, against the background of dramatic expansion of the tourism business. It reconfigured both the economic actions of the house and the affects of the Na regarding the intimate relationship. In order to continue to prosper their house, the Na adapted to the market economy by reshaping the practices of mutual help and exchange that took part in the Na sociality. If forms of economics indigenization can be seen, the competition between houses on the tourist market transforms the very economics practices of these houses. New intimate arrangements are also part of these transformations. The new Na desires and affects show that sexual sociabilities, rather than depending on a collective social order and thus on the pragmatic needs and requirements of the house, are today thought of in terms of individual desires. The conducted ethnography thus demonstrates that new sexual dynamics recomposed the Na society, with consequent preference for conjugality, marriage or cohabitation. This thesis proposes to grasp the way in which the tourist situation has recomposed the practices and the desires to the point of reconfiguring the house and relatedness by the emergence of new economic strategies and new intimates’ economies. Through a dynamic anthropology of social change and an anthropological perspective of economics-politics, the thesis proposes an analysis framework that crosses social fields such as the house, relatedness, sexuality and tourism.
