Abstract (sommario):

Uporaba antičnih imen, znakov in podob dobiva v Sloveniji po osamosvojitvi drugačen pomen. Antiko je vzelo "za svojo" tako potrošništvo kot zdraviliški turizem. Analiza primerov iz Slovenije je pokazala na trend "rimskih prostorov" v zdraviliščih in wellness centrih. Po vzoru iz tujine je v zadnjem desetletju "rimski trend" postal v Sloveniji zelo popularen predvsem v opremljanju savn. Zdravilišča so se v posnemanju oprla na institucijo rimskih term ter prevzela določene prostore, npr. tepidarij kot največkrat zastopani sodoben "rimski" prostor. Značilnost sodobnih rimskih savn je mešanje rimskih, grških, predvsem pa sodobnih elementov v temperaturi, načinu ogrevanja in dekoraciji prostorov.

AbstractSalmonid alphavirus (SAV), genus Alphavirus, family Togaviridae, is a single-stranded RNA virus affecting Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). It is known to be responsible for pancreas disease (PD) and sleeping disease (SD) which are increasing problems, causing high fish mortality and economic losses in the European aquaculture industry. Pancreas disease was first described in Atlantic salmon in Scotland in 1976 and a similar disease caused by the closely related sleeping disease virus was first described in rainbow trout in France. There have also been reports of salmonid alphavirus infections from other European countries, including Ireland, England, Norway, Germany, Italy, and Spain. Salmonid alphaviruses have been classified into six subtypes (SAV1–6). SAV1 and SAV4–6 cause pancreas disease in Atlantic salmon in Ireland or Scotland, SAV2 is the causative agent of sleeping disease in rainbow trout, and SAV3 has been detected in Atlantic salmon in Norway. The aim of this paper was to summarise current knowledge of infections caused by salmonid alphavirus and diagnostic methods including the newest techniques, and to briefly describe prevention from SAV infections by vaccination.

Abstract (sommario):

Leta 1995 je bil v Savi pri Termah Čatež najden za Slovenijo nov takson pijavke, katerega značilnosti se ujemajo z vrsto Glossiphonia slovaca (Košel 1973). Taksonomija te vrste in njenega sestrskega taksona G. paludosa (Carena 1824) še ni povsem razjasnjena. Večkrat so z zadnjim imenom poimenovali dve nesorodni vrsti, razlikovanje med sestrskima taksonoma pa ni bilo zadovoljivo razdelano. Avtor se je na podlagi molekularnih in biogeografskih razlik odločil, da je smiselno ločevati obe vrsti. Sava pri Čatežu je s sedmimi vrstami pijavk ena najbogatejših lokalitet v Sloveniji. Za ta odsek Save je predvidena zajezitev za hidroenergetske potrebe, kar bi uničilo habitat nekaterih v Sloveniji zelo redkih pijavk.

V članku so zbrana in komentirana tista mesta v Strabonovi 7. knjigi, kjer piše o Donavi in Savi. Že Herodot je Donavo opredelil kot najpomembnejšo njemu znano reko; pri grških piscih se je zanjo uveljavilo tračansko ime Istros, ki se je tudi pozneje uporabljalo za spodnji tok Donave. Zgornji tok se je imenoval Danuvius/Danubius, ime je verjetno keltsko. Kot božanstvu so Danuviju postavljali oltarje; blizu sotočja Drave in Donave so skupaj z njim počastili tudi boga Drava. Savo je poosebljal bog Savus, ki so ga častili ob zgornjem, nevarnejšem toku reke do Siscije. Skupaj z Adsaluto sta imela svetišče nad brzicami pri Podkraju nasproti Hrastnika, blizu območja nevarnih slapov. Strabon poleg drugih rek dvakrat omenja sicer neznani Noar, ki so ga enačili s celo vrsto rek, med drugim tudi z Odro, vendar je natančna analiza Strabonovega besedila pokazala, da gre lahko le za spodnji tok Save. Izviri Save Dolinke v Zelencih pri Podkorenu so bili sveti kraj, kjer so častili Saverkno.

Ovaj rad bavi se životom slikara Save Šumanovića koji je pre 80 godina, 30. avgusta 1942. streljan na pravoslavnom groblju u Sremskoj Mitrovici, zajedno sa 120 građana Šida, mesta u kojem je u roditeljskoj kući proveo najvažnije formativne, kao i poslednje godine svog života. Do danas mu se ne zna grob. Bio je jedna od najpoznatijih žrtava ustaškog režima u Drugom svetskom ratu u Jugoslaviji. Rad ne tumači slikarstvo Save Šumanovića, već nastoji da oslika milje u kojem je slikar živeo i radio te kroz njegovu biografiju i događaje pokušava da objasni istorijski kontekst koji je doveo do tragičnog kraja Šumanovića. Slike i skice Save Šumanovića danas se nalaze u Parizu, gradu u kojem je živeo u tri navrata, u Zagrebu, gde se školovao, u Beogradu, gde je priređena njegova poslednja samostalna izložba, pred sam početak Drugog svetskog rata, u Novom Sadu u Spomen-zbirci Pavla Beljanskog te u Šidu u kojem je nastao najveći deo njegovog opusa i u kojem je 1952. osnovana Galerija slika “Sava Šumanović”, zahvaljujući daru Savine majke, Perside Šumanović. U radu su, osim biografskih knjiga i zapisa savremenika o Savi Šumanoviću, korišćena i ekskluzivna pisma Save Šumanovića, koja su ljubaznošću porodice kolekcionara Milana Vereša bila dostupna autoru. Autor je koristio i intervjue koje je radio sa poznavaocima života i dela Šumanovića, kao i arhivske novinske članke, arhivu Televizije Beograd, te knjigu služavke Marije Demšar koja je tokom Drugog svetskog rata radila u kući Šumanovića u Šidu.

Straipsnyje pristatomas nacionalinių stereotipų ir grupinio tapatumo tyrimas Vilnijos krašte. Iš viso tyrime dalyvavo 214 lietuvių, rusų, lenkų ir žydų tautybės respondentai, kurie užpildė klausimyną apie tipiškus tautybių atstovų bruožus. Dažniausiai minimi bruožai buvo laikomi stereotipiniais. Lietuvio stereotipas: darbštus, nacionalistas, kultūringas, ir mylintis savo šalį; lietuviai apie save: darbštus, mylintis savo šalį, paklusnus, ir santūrus. Rusų stereotipas: mažai kultūringas, draugiškas, ir tingus, turi gerų bendravimo įgūdžių; rusai apie save: paprastas, atviras, ir darbštus, mėgsta ir žino, kaip bendrauti. Lenko stereotipas: spekuliantas, arogantiškas, mažai išsilavinęs ir mandagus; lenkai apie save: darbštus, kultūringas, mandagus, ir religingas. Žydo stereotipas: protingas, vieningas su tautiečiais, žino, kaip gyventi, kultūringas, ir draugiškas; žydai apie save: protingas, darbštus, prisitaikantis ir orientuotas į švietimą. Visose grupėse aptiktas grupinio favoritizmo reiškinys (H. Tajfel). Daroma išvada apie stiprų teigiamą etninį identitetą visose tirtose grupėse.

Šiuolaikiniame ir vis labiau skubančiame pasaulyje naujovės bei išradimai uţvaldo vis didesnę rinkos dalį. Mokslininkai, dizaineriai ir kitų specialybių ţmonės stengiasi kaip išmanydami palengvinti vartotojų ir tiekėjų rinką. Tik ar viskas, ką jie siūlo rinkai, yra sveika mūsų organizmui?Ar maistas, gėrimai, kosmetika, technologinės naujovės, vis labiau tobulėjanti farmacija ir kita, ką mes su mielu noru priimame, nėra mums nuodinga? Reikia atkreipti didesnį dėmesį į patį ţmogų.
The main issue analysed in this work is the harm done to a human body by the six factors: drugs, genetically modified organisms (GMO), air pollution, cosmetics, radiation and preservatives. Health is the most important human value and the majority of nowadays world solutions may reduce it faster than we think it could. Hereinafter these main factors crippling our health will be shortly discussed.

Abstract (sommario):

This paper is about save systems and will analyze save functions in various games. Save systems in games are usually blamed for harming the suspension of disbelief as it is an act taking place outside the game and should only be used for its intended purpose: letting the players store their game data, and progress whenever they need. The game save function developed as rapid leaps of technology were made, with the beginning era of home consoles and home computers allowing players to spend more time playing, creating a demand for longer play sessions in games which lead to a need of methods for storing game data. The analysis of save systems is carried out in this paper by using MDA Framework (Mechanics, Dynamics, Aesthetics), a tool used for documenting game design. This framework can be used to analyze a game from a designer‟s or player‟s perspective. By reversing the framework ADM (Aesthetics, Dynamics and Mechanics) one can analyze the user experience, which is how the player perceives the game‟s aesthetics to be, depending on the dynamics and mechanics. This analysis aims to provide knowledge of how consistency in game design and the save system can be used to create a cohesive game world that facillitates the player's experience and immersion.

Abstract (sommario):

Driven by an envisioned potential of merging theories and practices of play with studies of fashion sustainability, this research went through a play-centric design process to explore the question of How can play and games help reduce fashion waste? Seven design experiments investigated different game impact goals that could have a positive effect on the pursuit of fashion sustainability. The main research findings show that games can create a safe space for players to challenge their own conceptions of fashion. The results also show that games have great potential to assign meaning to garments through shared memories, secrets, stories and meaningful words. Furthermore, the study shows that modular clothes designed as games have the potential to playfully engage their wearers for long, sparking social interaction and inspiring new playful ways to engage with fashion. Additionally, beyond the design process results and actionable insights, this research considers the exposure of its framing to be a crucial contribution. Fashion sustainability is, therefore, a pressuring topic that needs people to be engaged in what they do and know best, in order for transformation to happen. Can games save fashion? The answer is probably no, but this research has proven that play and games offer a fruitful path to start trying.

Savo unikalumo išgyvenimas psichoterapinėje grupėje Šiame magistro darbe buvo tiriamas savo unikalumo išgyvenimo psichoterapinėje grupėje fenomenas. Įvadinėje dalyje į unikalumo fenomeną buvo pažvelgta iš filosofinių (S.Kierkegaardo, M.Heideggerio, M.Buberio, P.Tilicho) ir psichologinių (G.W.Allporto, C.R.Rogerso, S.M.Jourardo, J.Bugentalio, V.Franklio, A.R.Beisserio) idėjų perspektyvos. Buvo siekiama išsiaiškinti, kaip savo unikalumas patiriamas konkrečioje psichoterapinėje grupėje ir apibrėžti unikalumo fenomeną konkrečiai tiriamųjų grupei. Tyrime buvo naudojamas fokusinių grupių metodas. Fokusinė grupės buvo organizuojamos trumpalaikių psichoterapinių grupių kontekste. fokusinėse grupėse dalyvavo 13 žmonių: 11 moterų ir 2 vyrai. Buvo surengtos 2 fokusinės grupės, kurias pagal iš anksto paruoštą planą vedė moderatorius – šio darbo autorė. Gauti duomenys buvo apdoroti A.Giorgi fenomenologinės analizės metodo pagalba. Sudaryti 10 specifinių situacinių savo unikalumo fenomeno apibrėžimų, kuriais remiantis buvo suformuluoti 2 bendri galutiniai fenomeno apibrėžimai. Šio tyrimo rezultatai parodė, kad: 1)savo unikalumo išgyvenimas psichoterapinėje grupėje yra sudėtingas fenomenas, pasižymintis didele pasireiškimų įvairove; 2)savo unikalumo patyrimas psichoterapinėje grupėje glaudžiai susijęs su universalumo patyrimu: savo unikalumas išgyvenamas kartu su universalumu su grupės dalyviais arba tuoj po jo; 3)savo unikalumo patyrimas trumpalaikėje psichoterapinėje grupėje yra... The Phenomenon of Uniqueness in a Psychotherapy Group The phenomenon of uniqueness in a psychotherapy group was studied in his master‘s degree work. Introduction was dedicated to review the human relationship phenomenon from the philosophical (S.Kierkegaard, M.Heidegger, M.Buber, P.Tilich) and psychological (G.W.Allport, C.R.Rogers, S.M.Jourard, J.Bugental, V.Frankl, A.R.Beisser) perspective. The aim of this work was to explore in what way the phenomenon of uniqueness is experienced in a certain psychotherapy group and define the phenomenon of uniqueness for the certain research group. The method of focus group was used in this research. Focus groups were organized in the context of short-term psychotherapy groups. 13 persons were participating in the focus groups: 11 women and 2 men. 2 focus groups were created, which were managed by the author of this study based on provided plan. The results were processed using A.Giorgi phenomenal method. 10 specific situational definitions of the phenomenon of uniqueness were created, which were used to formulate two ultimate definitions of the phenomenon. Les mousses liquides font partie de la vie de tous les jours : dans la tasse de cappuccino le matin, dans la vaisselle du soir, ainsi que dans les sodas accompagnés de mentos. Cette matière très aérienne (64% d'air au minimum) est un excellent milieu pour absorber les vibrations, quelques couches de bulles suffisent à diminuer fortement l'intensité d'une onde acoustique passant au travers. Présentement, presque tous les modèles existants pour les mousses liquides ne traitent que des temps longs, cette propriété d'atténuation des vibrations est décrite dans très peu de modèles. Pour décrire ces propriétés, on décide d'étudier la vibration individuelle d'un des éléments constitutifs des mousses liquides, les films de savon. En mesurant la relation de dispersion d'un film, ainsi que l'amplitude de vibration en fonction de la fréquence, on parvient à mesurer la dissipation d'un film unique, ce qui nous permet de mieux comprendre les mécanismes de dissipation dans une mousse liquide
Liquid foams are a common occurence in our daily lives : in the cappucino cup in the morning, when washing dishes the evening, or when Mentos are put in a carbonated drink. This light material is mainly constituted of air (64% at least) and is an excellent damper for vibrations, since a few layers of bubbles are enough to strongly reduce the intensity of a propagating acoustic wave. At the moment, almost every model used to describe liquid foams focus on long-time behaviour and this dampening property is described only by a few models. To describe these properties, we decide to sudy the individual vibration of a soap film, which is an elementary brick of a liquid foam. By measuring the dispersion relation, and the vibration amplitude as a function of frequency, we can measure the dissipation for a single soap film, which allows us to have a better understanding of the dissipation occuring in a liquid foam

El presente proyecto de tesis, situado en la ciudad de Huancayo, es el resultado de la búsqueda por un ordenamiento y una mejora de una ciudad presa por la informalidad, el centralismo y la inseguridad. Después de un análisis urbano, se llegó a la conclusión que el mayor punto de inseguridad e informalidad es justamente el centro de la ciudad, donde se sitúan más de cinco diferentes mercados en un radio de medio kilometro. Todo esto ocurre a menos de un kilometro del centro histórico de la ciudad, propiciando la poca accesibilidad, escaza seguridad y un bajo atractivo sobre una ciudad tan maravillosa como la incontrastable Huancayo. Son por estos motivos, que se tomo la decisión de proponer un mercado, lo suficientemente alejado del centro como para descongestionarlo del caos que generan los diferentes mercados que actualmente funcionan ahí, pero sin perder de vista a la gran cantidad de usuarios que utilizan este equipamiento. Teniendo en cuenta los puntos anteriores, se busco la zona mas desabastecida de la ciudad y con mayor potencial; San Carlos, es sin duda un barrio que ha ido creciendo al punto de casi convertirse en un distrito. En la actualidad no existe un mercado formal que abastezca esta zona, tampoco un gran equipamiento o espacio público que genere una convivencia adecuada entre los ciudadanos. El proyecto “Mercado San Carlos” propone un ordenamiento, una mejor animación en la zona, mayor seguridad y una convivencia que mejore la calidad de vida de los pobladores.
The present thesis project, located in the city of Huancayo, is the result of the search for an order and improvement of a city imprisoned by informality, centralism and insecurity. After an urban analysis, it was concluded that the greatest point of insecurity and informality is precisely the center of the city, where more than five different markets are located within a radius of half a kilometer. All this occurs less than one kilometer from the historic center of the city, leading to poor accessibility, scanty security and low attractiveness over a city as wonderful as the undeniable Huancayo. It is for these reasons, that the decision was made to propose a market, far enough from the center to decongest it from the chaos generated by the different markets that currently operate there, but without losing sight of the large number of users who use this equipment. Considering the previous points, we searched for the most underserved area of the city and with the greatest potential; San Carlos, is undoubtedly a neighborhood that has grown to the point of almost becoming a district. At present there is no formal market that supplies this area, nor a great equipment or public space that generates an adequate coexistence among citizens. The "Market San Carlos" project proposes an order, a better animation in the area, greater security and a coexistence that improves the quality of life of the inhabitants.

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper proposes the use of an on-demand, ride hailed and ride-Shared Autonomous Vehicle (SAV) service as a feasible solution to serve the mobility needs of a small city where fixed route, circulator type public transportation may be too expensive to operate. The presented work builds upon our earlier work that modeled the city of Marysville, Ohio as an example of such a city, with realistic traffic behavior, and trip requests. A simple SAV dispatcher is implemented to model the behavior of the proposed on-demand mobility service. The goal of the service is to optimally distribute SAVs along the network to allocate passengers and shared rides. The pickup and drop-off locations are strategically placed along the network to provide mobility from affordable housing, which are also transit deserts, to locations corresponding to jobs and other opportunities. The study is carried out by varying the behaviors of the SAV driving system from cautious to aggressive along with the size of the SAV fleet and analyzing their corresponding performance. It is found that the size of the network and behavior of AV driving system behavior results in an optimal number of SAVs after which increasing the number of SAVs does not improve overall mobility. For the Marysville network, which is a 9 mile by 8 mile network, this happens at the mark of a fleet of 8 deployed SAVs. The results show that the introduction of the proposed SAV service with a simple optimal shared scheme can provide access to services and jobs to hundreds of people in a small sized city.</div></div>

Abstract Shared autonomous vehicles (SAVs) encompassing autonomous driving technology and car-sharing service are expected to become an essential part of transportation system in the near future. Although many studies related to SAV system design and optimization have been conducted, most of them are focused on shared autonomous battery electric vehicle (SABEV) systems, which employ battery electric vehicles (BEVs) as SAVs. As fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) emerge as alternative fuel vehicles along with BEVs, the need for research on shared autonomous fuel cell electric vehicle (SAFCEV) systems employing FCEVs as SAVs is increasing. Therefore, this study newly presents a design framework of SAFCEV system by developing an SAFCEV design model based on a proton-exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) model. The test bed for SAV system design is Seoul, and optimization is conducted for SABEV and SAFCEV systems to minimize the total cost while satisfying the customer wait time constraint, and the optimization results of both systems are compared. From the results, it is verified that the SAFCEV system is feasible and the total cost of the SAFCEV system is even lower compared to the SABEV system. In addition, several observations on various operating environments of SABEV and SAFCEV systems are obtained from parametric studies.

Advancements in semi-autonomous vehicles (SAVs) are amongst the most popular topics in transportation. Proponents of SAVs cite the potential for reducing crashes, roadway congestion, stressful commutes, and increasing independence for persons with disabilities. This enthusiasm is however tempered by crashes involving SAVs. Articles in the popular press cite limitations of the technology, however, crashes rarely have a single cause, and it is important to consider other possible factors. This paper explores the influence of several factors including how SAVs change the responsibility of the driver from operator to supervisor and why drivers are poorly equipped for this supervisory function. We discuss how the opacity of the vehicle’s operation, intentions, and internal states make it difficult for the operators to develop mental models of the systems that enable them to anticipate the automations’ actions. Drivers may instead rely on anthropomorphic reasoning to predict the system’s actions by evaluating how they would respond in a given situation. We explain why anthropomorphisms are problematic and, in some cases, increase crash risk. Finally, we review why drivers operate SAVs in violation of the Operational Design Domain limitations and the contributory role of drivers’ assumptions of the capabilities of SAV technology.

Submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) growing in estuarine and coastal marine systems provides crucial ecosystem functions ranging from sediment stabilization to habitat and food for specific species. SAV systems, however, are sensitive to a number of environmental factors, both anthropogenic and natural. The most common limiting factors are light limitation, water quality, and salinity, as reported widely across the literature. These factors are controlled by a number of complex processes, however, varying greatly between systems and SAV populations. This report seeks to conduct an exhaustive examination of factors influencing estuarine and coastal marine SAV habitats and find the common threads that tie these ecosystems together. Studies relating SAV habitats in the United States to a variety of factors are reviewed here, including geomorphological and bathymetric characteristics, sediment dynamics, sedimentological characteristics, and water quality, as well as hydrologic regime and weather. Tools and methods used to assess each of these important factors are also reviewed. A better understanding of fundamental environmental factors that control SAV growth will provide crucial information for coastal restoration and engineering project planning in areas populated by SAVs.

Why should people--and economies-- save? The typical answer usually focuses on the need to protect against future shocks, to smooth consumption during hard times, in short, to save for the proverbial rainy day. This book approaches the question from a slightly different angle. While saving to survive the bad times is important, saving to thrive in the good times is what really counts. People must save to invest in their own and their children's health and education, live productive, fulfilling lives, and end their days in comfort and peace. Firms must save so they can grow productive enterprises that employ more workers in better jobs to produce quality goods for domestic and international markets. Governments must save to build bridges, highways, and airports that support a productive economy, to provide quality services to their citizens, and to assure their senior citizens a dignified, worry-free retirement. In short, countries must save for a sunny day¿a time when everyone can bask in the benefits of growth, prosperity, and well-being. This book explores how households, firms, and governments can address the savings problem in Latin America and the Caribbean in pursuit of that sunny day.

This technical note (TN) was developed by the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center–Environmental Laboratory (ERDC-EL) to provide an overview of the ecosystem services delivered by submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) to estuarine and coastal ecosystems and to describe potential methods for the beneficial use of dredged material (BUDM) to aid in SAV restoration. Although dredging tends to have a negative association with SAV habitats, BUDM may provide an opportunity to expand suitable SAV habitat to areas where depth is the primary limiting factor. Recent in situ observations have shown that SAV has opportunistically colonized several dredged-material placement sites. This TN provides context on BUDM for SAV habitat restoration to encourage increased strategic placement.
