Abstract (sommario):

BackgroundPsoriasis (PsO) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) can greatly impact quality of life and result in substantial personal and societal costs. Complete and up to date data on the prevalence and incidence of these conditions and whether these change over time and vary by age is important for healthcare service planning so that specialist care and funding can be appropriately allocated.ObjectivesTo determine the prevalence and incidence of PsO and PsA in males and females from 2009-2019 across all age groups in England.MethodsWe used Clinical Practice Research Datalink AURUM, a primary care electronic health record database, including 20% of the English population. The codes used to identify patients with PsO and PsA were selected by rheumatologists and dermatologists and cross-checked with published code lists from other studies to ensure inclusion of all relevant codes. All included patients must have data for at least 1 year before their diagnosis. The annual incidence and point prevalence were calculated from 2009-2019 and stratified by age/sex. The study period ended in 2019 to avoid COVID-19 pandemic affecting results.ResultsThe prevalence of PsO and PsA in males and females increased annually, peaking in 2019 (PsO males 2.41% [95% confidence interval (CI) 2.40, 2.42]; PsO females 2.60% [95% CI 2.59-2.61]; PsA males 0.20% [95% CI 0.20-0.20]; PsA females 0.21% [95% CI 0.21- 0.22]), as illustrated in Table 1. In 2019, the prevalence of PsO and PsA was highest in the over 65 years age group; PsO 4.25% [95% CI 4.22-4.28] and PsA 0.38% [95% CI 0.37-0.38]. The annual incidence (per 100,000 person years) of PsO has gradually decreased in males (from 168 (164-171) in 2009 to 148 (145-151) in 2019) but in females it has been stable with a slight annual decrease (from 180 (177-184) in 2009 to 173 (170-176) in 2019). AbstractThe hyperfine structure of transitions in the three-step scheme 5 d 6 s ^22 D _3/2–5 d 6 s 6 p ^4 F $$_{{5/2}}^{^\circ }$$ –5 d 6 s 7 s ^4 D _3/2– (53 375 cm^–1) $$_{{1/2}}^{^\circ }$$ of lutetium ionization is studied for ^175Lu, ^176Lu, and ^177Lu isotopes using the photoionization laser spectroscopy method. Values of the magnetic dipole ( A ) and electric quadrupole ( B ) interaction constants are determined, as well as the energies, the isotope shifts, and the radiative lifetimes for the 5 d 6 s 7 s ^4 D _3/2 and (53 375 cm^–1) $$_{{1/2}}^{^\circ }$$ levels.

The following compounds were prepared by cocrystallization of their components from MeOH or MeCN and structurally characterized by low-temperature X-ray diffraction: Na[N(SO2Me)2]·HN(SO2Me)2·2 (12-crown-4) (2, orthorhombic, space group Pna21). Na[N(SO2Me)·HN(SO2Me)·(15-crown-5) (3, monoclinic. P21/n), Na[N(SO2Ph)2] · HN(SO2Ph)2 · 2 (12-crown-4) (4. monoclinic. P21). (MeNH)2COHN(SO2Ph)2·0.5 MeCN (5, monoclinic. P21/n). The four structures exhibit [(RSO2)2N-H ··· N(SO2R)2]- anions as rare examples of intermolecular [N-H ···N]- homo- conjugates. The N ··· N distances of the asymmetric hydrogen bonds are. in order. 266.9(6). 276.0(3). 291.3(4) and 279.4(2) pm. the corresponding N-H···N angles amounting to 137(10), 176(3), 177(4) and 177(2)°. The asymmetry of the hydrogen bonds is clearly reflected in the geometry of the NS2 groups (amine moieties: N-S 162.3-165.2 pm. S-N-S 124.5-127.1°; amide moieties: N-S 159.7-161.8 pm. S-N-S 119.1-122.6°). The dihedral angles formed by the NS2 planes vary from 51.8° in 4 to 87.6° in 5. The crystal lattices of 2 and 4 consist of discrete ions, sandwich-type [Na(12-crown-4)2]+ complexes acting as the counter-ions. In 3. Na+ is coordinated in an out-of-cavity pattern by the five polyether oxygen atoms and further accepts two Na-O bonds from the amide moiety of the complex anion [Na-O(crown) 241.5(2)-249.9(2), Na-O(anion) 235.0(2) and 263.9(2) pm]. Thе surprising structure of 5 contains homoconjugated 1.3-dimethylurea cations [(MeNH)2C-O-H ··· O=C(NHMe)2]+, which are formed via a very strong asymmetric [O-H ···O]+ hydrogen bond [О···О 247.7(2) pm. O-H ··· O 172(3)°] and are associated with the amide moieties of the anions through a set of N-H···О bonds to form infinite chains: the MeCN molecules occupy lattice cavities.

ZusammenfassungDie Radioligandentherapie (RLT) mit radioaktiv markierten PSMA-Liganden (z. B. Lu-177-PSMA-617) und die Peptid-Rezeptor-Radionuklidtherapie (PRRT) mit radioaktiv markierten Somatostatin-Analoga (z. B. Lu-177-DOTATATE) haben sich über die letzten Jahre als vielversprechende Therapieoptionen bei metastasierten, kastrationsresistenten Prostatakarzinomen bzw. inoperablen oder metastasierten neuroendokrinen Tumoren entwickelt. Das Theragnostiknuklid Lu-177 weist dabei neben der Therapie-relevanten Beta-Minus-Komponente eine, auch für die Bildgebung gut nutzbare, Gammaemission auf, die eine direkte quantitative Bildgebung und Dosimetrie der Radiopharmakonverteilung möglich macht. Die Patienten-spezifische 3D-Dosimetrie auf Basis der quantitativen Lu-177-Bildgebung ist dabei der Schlüssel hin zur individualisierten Therapiekontrolle und -planung in der RLT und PRRT, in denen bisher vornehmlich noch standardisierte Aktivitätsmengen verabreicht werden. Jedoch ist die Ermittlung robuster Dosiswerte klinisch aufwändig, sowohl bez. des Messaufwands als auch hinsichtlich der Auswertung der Daten, und die starke Variabilität der Dosiswerte und deren Abhängigkeit von der verwendeten Methodik erschweren die Etablierung Therapie-spezifischer Dosis-Wirkungsbeziehungen. Gerade der Vergleich von Dosimetriedaten zwischen den Kliniken erfordert eine systematische und vereinheitlichte Dosimetrie mit akzeptablem klinischem Aufwand. Die Genauigkeit der Dosimetrie ist derzeit v. a. limitiert durch Effekte der Bildgebung. Zusätzliche Fehler können sich bspw. durch eine ungünstige Wahl der gemessenen Datenpunkte, Bewegungsartefakte, Überlagerungseffekte in der planaren Bildgebung oder durch eine nicht vollständig klinisch durchführbare Definition der Zielregion (z. B. Knochenmark) ergeben. Die 3D-Dosimetrie, unter Berücksichtigung zusätzlicher physikalischer oder biologischer Parameter (z. B. Dosisrate), kann in der Radionuklidtherapie einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Etablierung von Dosis-Wirkungsbeziehungen liefern, allerdings ist die klinisch-physiologische Interpretation der 3D-Dosisverteilungen derzeit noch stark limitiert durch Bildartefakte und Bildrauschen in den zur Dosimetrie eingesetzten SPECT-Bildern.

Firstly, mention is made of a 'fossil-rush' in 1856 at Tingewick, Buckinghamshire where brick-clay was being extracted; the response to a note in the Times (6 January 1857) was overwhelming and it would be interesting to collate specimens in museums which originated from this source. Secondly, the fate of Stowe's personal collection is also unrecorded; he died on 22 June 1860 in Buckingham and circumstantial evidence indicates that the collection remained in the family until at least 1871. Syncuaria Gilbert, 1927 is revised and Skrjabinocara Kurashvili, 1940 placed in synonymy with it. Nine species are recognized: S. ciconiae Gilbert, 1927 (type species); S. buckleyi (Ali, 1957) n. comb.; S. decorata (Cram, 1927); S. longialula Wang, 1976; S. leptoptili (Gedoelst, 1916) (=S. parvepapillata Macko, 1962a, 1962b); S. bressoui Gretillat, 1970; S. hargilae (Baylis and Daubney, 1923); S. diacantha Petter, 1961; and S. squamata (Linstow, 1883) n. comb. Redescriptions of the latter five species are provided. Six other species are regarded as species inquirendae: S. calcarata (Molin, 1860), S. contorta (Molin, 1858), S. longeornata (Molin, 1860), S. rostombekovi (Kurashvili, 1940) n. comb., S. ardeae (Smith, Fox and White, 1908), and S. sturni (Ozerskaya, 1927). Syncuaria longevaginata (Molin, 1860) is transferred to Desportesius, resulting in D. longevaginatus (Molin, 1860) n. comb. Syncuaria squamata was found in 11 of 18 young of the year double-crested cormorants (Phalacrocorax a. auritus (Lesson)) from Lake Erie, Ontario, Canada, indicating that transmission of this species occurs on the breeding ground of its final host.

Phytochemical investigation and anthelmintic activity of Salsola imbricata Forssk was carried out. Phytochemical analysis showed the presence of anthraquinones, reducing sugar, tannins, saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids and cardiac glycosides. Analysis of anthelmintic activity exhibited that bark extract of S. imbricata is more potent than fruit extract. Minimum time for paralysis and death of worms (9 and#177; 0.6 and 13 and#177; 0.2 min.) was taken by chloroform extract of bark at concentration of 100 mg/mL whereas fruit extract of chloroform was taken minimum time for paralysis and death of worms (10 and#177; 1.1 and 16 and#177; 0.1min.) at concentration of 100 mg/mL.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the glycogen content (GC) of the rat hind limb muscles submitted to joint immobilization, either associated with metformin treatment (M, 1,4mg.ml-1) or not. In the metformin group, there was a significant increase in the GC (soleus - S 65% , white gastrocnemius - WG 30.5%, red gastrocnemius- RG31.7%, extensor digitorum longus - EDL 44%, tibialis anterior- TA 77.4%). The immobilization significantly reduced the GC (S 31.6%, WG 56.6%, RG 39.1%, ELD 41.7%, TA 45.2%) and weight (S 34.2% and ELD 27%), whereas in the group immobilized with the metformin, there was an increase in the GC of all the muscles (S 177%, WG 290%, RG 172%,ELD 47%, TA 217%), in addition to minimizing the weight loss of S (29.6%) and ELD (27.8%).

This research was conducted in April s / d June 2017 located in Fisheries Laboratory of University Prof. Dr. Hazairin, SH Bengkulu. The design of this study used a Completely Randomized Design with 4 Treatments and 6 repeats. The treatments were (1) = CornCob 157 gram, (2) = Corncob 167 gram, (3) = CornCob 177 gram, (4) = Corncob 187 gram. To know the effect or not done an analysis of variance and continued with a test of the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) 5% and 1%. The parameters observed were absolute weight, absolute length, feed conversion, feed efficiency, and fish survival. The results showed that giving different feed composition of corn cob feed was a significant effect on absolute weight growth, absolute length, feed conversion, feed efficiency but no significant effect on survival of Tawes (Puntius javanicus). Absolute weight growth, absolute length, feed conversion, and feed efficiency are best found in Treatment P1 = Corncob 157 grams and survival of Tawes (Puntius javanicus) 100%.

ImportanceNew approaches for the prevention of acute otitis media (AOM), the most common reason for antibiotic use in children, are needed.ObjectiveTo assess the efficacy of the Streptococcus salivarius K12 oral probiotics in the primary prevention of AOM.Design, Setting, and ParticipantsThis double-blind, randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted from August 1, 2020, to May 31, 2021, at 50 day care centers in the Oulu region of Finland. A total of 827 children aged 1 to 6 years attending day care were included. The exclusion criteria consisted of ongoing antimicrobial prophylaxis or immunodeficiency. The follow-up time was 6 months and was completed on May 31, 2021. Data were analyzed from October 24, 2022, to September 16, 2023, based on intention to treat.InterventionEligible participants were randomly allocated to receive 1 daily dose of a S salivarius K12 product or placebo every evening for 6 months. A daily dose was defined as 1 sachet of soluble oral powder for children younger than 3 years or 1 chewable tablet for children 3 years or older containing 1 × 109 colony-forming units of S salivarius K12.Main Outcomes and MeasuresThe primary outcome was the proportion of children with at least 1 episode of AOM requiring antimicrobial therapy within 6 months of randomization. All physician visits and purchases of antimicrobial drugs were retrieved from the electronic national medical record and prescription register. The primary outcome was met if the legal guardian had purchased an antimicrobial prescription for AOM.ResultsA total of 827 children with a mean (SD) age of 4.1 (1.6) years (433 boys [52.4%]) were randomized to S salivarius K12 oral products (n = 413) or placebo (n = 414). Thirty-four children (8.2%) in the S salivarius group and 24 children (5.8%) in the placebo group experienced at least 1 episode of AOM requiring antimicrobial therapy during the 6-month follow-up period (relative risk, 1.42 [95% CI, 0.86-2.34]; proportion difference, −2.44% [95% CI, −5.94% to 1.09%]; P = .17). Time to first AOM episode did not differ between the groups (174 [95% CI, 171-177] days in the S salivarius group vs 176 [95% CI, 173-179] days in the placebo group; P = .18).Conclusions and RelevanceIn this randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial, the daily use of the S salivarius K12 products for 6 months did not reduce the occurrence of AOM. ABSTRACT Hepatitis delta virus (HDV) small delta antigen (S-HDAg) plays a critical role in virus replication. We previously demonstrated that the S-HDAg phosphorylation occurs on both serine and threonine residues. However, their biological significance and the exact phosphorylation sites of S-HDAg are still unknown. In this study, phosphorylated S-HDAg was detected only in the intracellular compartment, not in viral particles. In addition, the number of phosphorylated isoforms of S-HDAg significantly increased with the extent of viral replication in transfection system. Site-directed mutagenesis showed that alanine replacement of serine 177, which is conserved among all the known HDV strains, resulted in reduced phosphorylation of S-HDAg, while the mutation of the other two conserved serine residues (2 and 123) had little effect. The S177A mutant dramatically decreased its capability in assisting HDV RNA replication, with a preferential and profound impairment of the antigenomic RNA replication. Furthermore, the viral RNA editing, a step relying upon antigenomic RNA replication, was also abolished by this mutation. These results suggested that phosphorylation of S-HDAg, with serine 177 as a presumable site, plays a critical role in viral RNA replication, especially in augmenting the replication of antigenomic RNA.

Experimental results and high-level quantum chemical ab initio calculations of the static polarizability α=α(ω=0)) of the cadmium 1S0 state are still in marked disagreement. Here we analyze this discrepancy by using experimentally determined dipole oscillator strength distributions (DOSD). It will be shown that within this procedure the experimentally determined static polarizability α0 will shift from 49.7± 1.6 au to considerably lower values. We now conclude an experimentally determined polarizability of α0 = 47.5 ± 2.0 au in much better agreement with the latest calculations of α0~ 46 au. Keywords: cadmium, polarizability, DOSD

Abstract Progenies from a half-diallel cross among six loblolly pines (Pinus taeda L.) and another among six slash pines (P. elliottii Engelm. var. elliottii) were field-tested in central Georgia for fusiform-rust (Cronartium quercuum [Berk.] Miyabe ex Shirai f. sp. fusiforme) resistance. Threeof each set of six parents were rated resistant (R) and three susceptible (S) to the fungus relative to check lots in previous progeny tests. For both species, relative susceptibility of the three types of progenies at age 5 years was R x R < R x S < S x S. The R x R and R x S progeniesin slash pine had considerably less infection than did the same types of progenies in loblolly pines. All S x S progenies were heavily infected. Heritability estimates for percentage infection and average galls per tree indicated that in these progenies, family selection should be based onpercentage infection for slash pine and galls per tree for loblolly pine. Trachyspermum ammi L, local seed’s essential oil and its crude methanolic extract were evaluated for antioxidant, antibacterial, and urease inhibition activities. Largely, 18 constituents were identified in the essential oil using The GC-MS. The promising constituent reported was terpeniodes; which seem to be responsible for the reported biological activities. DPPH Free radica1 scavenging assay was done to evaluate the antioxidant activities of both oil and crude extract. The DPPH scavenging activity results in lC50 values of 75 and#177; 0.05 and 300 and#177; 0.03. Antibacterial activity of the oil was carried out by using strains of Escherichia coli (89%), Bacillus subtilis (85%), and Streptococcus aureus (80%), while for the crude extract strains of E. coli (86%) B. subtle (89%), and S. aureus; (85%) were used. E. coil of T. ammi exhibits promising results with Aspergillus. flavus1 (86%) and Aspergillus1 Niger1 (87%). The phytochemical analysis of the T. ammi, crude extract showed the presence of saponins, flavonoids, steroids, terpenoids, and cardiac glycosides in the phytochemical investigation. Urease inhibition showed potent inhibition against B.P and J.B Urease with IC50 values of 85 and#177; 0.06 and 67.45 and#177; 0.8, respectively. Plant crude showed optimal results for B.P and Jack bean urease with IC50 values of 55.77 and#177; 0.01 and 35.56 and#177; 0.04, respectively.

Purpose:To investigate the effect of ingesting a caffeinated carbohydrate gel (CC) 10 minutes prior on 2000-m rowing performance compared with a carbohydrate-only placebo gel (CP).Methods:A counterbalanced, single-blind, crossover study design was employed (N = 13). All participants completed 1 familiarization trial followed by 2 experimental rowing time trials. The experimental trials were performed 10 min after ingesting CP (21.6 g of carbohydrate, 0 mg caffeine) or CC (21.6 g carbohydrate, 100 mg caffeine), and heart rate (HR), oxygen consumption (VO2), carbon dioxide production, minute ventilation (VE), respiratory-exchange ratio (RER), rating of perceived exertion (RPE), gastrointestinal discomfort (GI), and thirst perception (Thirst) were recorded every 200 m. Blood lactate [La−] was recorded immediately before and after exercise.Results:A paired-samples t test identified a significant improvement in 2000-m performance of 5.2 ± 3.9 s (1.1% ± 1.7%; P = .034). Two-way repeated-measures ANOVA revealed no significant treatment effect for HR (177 ± 8 vs 177 ± 9 beats/min, P = .817), VO2 (46.1 ± 6.5 vs 46.6 ± 6.2 mL · kg−1 · min−1, P = .590), VE (121.8 ± 14.7 vs 124.8 ± 15.7 L/min, P = .490), RPE, GI, or Thirst for CP and CC, respectively. Paired-samples t tests revealed no treatment effect for postexercise [La−] between CP and CC (11.72 ± 2.69 vs 12.26 ± 3.13 mmol/L, P = .534).Conclusion:A relatively low dose of caffeine (1.3 ± 0.1 mg/kg body mass) in an isotonic carbohydrate gel ingested only 10 min before performance improved 2000-m rowing time by 5.2 ± 7.8 s (1.1% ± 1.7%).

Abstract (sommario):

Complementary feeding is the systemic process of introduction of semisolid or solid food in infant at the right time in addition to mother’s milk in order to provide needed nutrition to the baby. A cross sectional study was conducted from January to December, 2020 to assess the level of knowledge and practice of nursing mothers regarding complementary feeding. Total 177 nursing mother were selected purposively and interviewed with a pre-tested semi-structured questionnaire. Face to face interview was conducted to collect data. P-value less than 0.05 were set as statistically significant. The knowledge and practice score were categorized into good (≥70%), satisfactory (50 to 70%), and poor (≤50%). Out of 177 respondents, majority 109(61.6%) had satisfactory knowledge regarding complementary feeding, 33(18.6%) had good knowledge and rest of them 35(19.8%) had poor knowledge regarding complementary feeding among the nursing mother. On the other hand 62.7% respondents had poor Practices, 24.9% had satisfactory practices and 12.4% had good practices regarding complementary feeding among the nursing mothers. There was highly significant association between knowledge and practice of complementary feeding (p <.000). Nursing mother’s knowledge regarding complementary feeding time was inadequate and practices were inappropriate. . It is the responsibility of health professionals to pass on the current information about proper infant feeding to mothers/care takers for promoting the healthy complementary feeding of the breastfeed child.

Исследована возможность использования метода плазмоактивированного атомно-слоевого осаждения для выращивания ориентированных пленок AlN на подложках Al2O3 при температурах менее 300oC. Проведены исследования образцов методами рентгенофазового анализа и эллипсометрии. Показано, что при длительностях плазменной экспозиции боле 20 s осаждаются пленки, обладающие показателем преломления, равным 2.03± 0.03. На рентгенограммах этих образцов присутствуют рефлексы (0002) и (0004) при углах 2Theta, равных 35.7o и 75.9o, характерные для гексагонального политипа AlN. У наилучшего образца для рефлекса (0002) ширина кривой качания на полувысоте интенсивности (FWHM) составила порядка 162± 11 arcsec.

For a processing time of 90 s the new film gave the same overall image quality and irradiation dose to the breast as the old system. If, instead, the processing time was increased to 150 s, a 43% reduction in kerma could be attained with the new film. With a developing temperature of 36°C and 150 s processing time, the noise is clinically acceptable. A nonparametric test showed no significant difference between the 2 films on the 0.01 level. At an X-ray tube potential difference of 25 kV, the mean absorbed dose to a 4.5-cm-thick breast was reduced from 1.7 mGy with the old combination to 1.0 mGy with the new one. The measurements were made with a moving grid.

To determine the possible role of acidic lysosomal vesicles in the transcellular transport of Ca, bidirectional Ca fluxes were measured across intestinal segments in vitro in the absence of electrochemical gradients. Mucosal addition of the weak base quinacrine (0.2 mM) caused a 67% decline in the mucosal-to-serosal Ca flux (Jm----s) across duodenum (175 +/- 34 vs. 58 +/- 9 nmol.cm-2.h-1, P less than 0.007) and reduced cecal Ca Jm----s (177 +/- 15 vs. 45 +/- 4, P less than 0.0001). Higher concentrations of up to 2.0 mM caused no further decline in cecal Ca Jm----s. Inhibition of cecal Ca Jm----s by mucosal chloroquine (0.1 mM) or ammonium chloride (10 mM) varied from 37 to 50%. Addition in vitro of quinacrine to enterocyte basolateral membrane vesicles failed to inhibit ATP-dependent Ca uptake. The present studies demonstrate that agents that collapse lysosomal pH gradients inhibit transcellular Ca transport. These observations are consistent with the hypothesis that Ca destined for transcellular transport is functionally associated with acidic lysosomes and that these organelles play an important role in transepithelial Ca translocation.

Plants have been widely used by humans since ancient times. They serve different purposes, especially shelter, heating, nutrition, war, equipment and medicine. Nowadays, they are widely used especially in the fight against diseases. In this context, in this study, the biological activities and health effects of Salvadora persica L. reported in the literature were compiled. S. persica is known by names such as miswak, koyoji, qesam, qisa and mastic. It is a multi-branched shrub or small tree that is two to three meters tall and has edible fruit. As a result of literature research, it has been seen that the plant has purposes such as health care and nutrition source. In addition, it has been shown in the literature that it has biological activities such as antioxidant, antimicrobial, anthelmintic, cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory and antidepressant activity. The most common and highly abundant compounds in the root, twigs, and leaves of S. persica were found to be benzyl isothiocyanate, benzyl nitrile, 1,8-cineol, butylated hydroxytoluene, isothiocyanatomethyl-benzene, and (2E)-hexenal. As a result, it is thought that S. persica can be used as a natural protective agent in terms of both its usage areas and biological activities.

The increasing prevalence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in the dairy industry has become a fundamental concern. Endolysins are bacteriophage-derived peptidoglycan hydrolases that induce the rapid lysis of host bacteria. Herein, we evaluated the lytic activity of endolysin candidates against S. aureus and MRSA. To identify endolysins, we used a bioinformatical strategy with the following steps: (1) retrieval of genetic information, (2) annotation, (3) selection of MRSA, (4) selection of endolysin candidates, and (5) evaluation of protein solubility. We then characterized the endolysin candidates under various conditions. Approximately 67% of S. aureus was detected as MRSA, and 114 putative endolysins were found. These 114 putative endolysins were divided into three groups based on their combinations of conserved domains. Considering protein solubility, we selected putative endolysins 117 and 177. Putative endolysin 117 was the only successfully overexpressed endolysin, and it was renamed LyJH1892. LyJH1892 showed potent lytic activity against both methicillin-susceptible S. aureus and MRSA and showed broad lytic activity against coagulase-negative staphylococci. In conclusion, this study demonstrates a rapid strategy for the development of endolysin against MRSA. This strategy could also be used to combat other antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Na poti do sem sem razmišljal, kako začeti to srečanje – in bolj sem razmišljal, bolj se mi je zdelo absurdno, da bi uvodoma predstavljal nekoga, ki ga vsi poznate. Pač pa lahko povem anekdoto, za katero mogoče ne veste vsi. V Društvu za antične in humanistične študije smo predlani prišli na idejo, da bi profesorja Gantarja predlagali za neko drugo nagrado, ki je imela med obrazci tudi obrazec za soglasje predlaganega. Naredil sem osnovnošolsko napako ter pisal profesorju, če ga lahko izpolni in podpiše. On pa mi je odpisal, da je nagrad v življenju dobil preveč in da prosi, naj ga ne predlagamo. Eksplicitno izraženi zahtevi se je težko upreti. Smo pa v društvu tudi poznavalci Otona Župančiča, ki je, kot veste, napisal, da gre osel enkrat na led, »baš to je oslovstvo«, in da modrec ve, kako je »danes pal«, jutri bo pa plesal po njem. Ko smo tako profesorja predlagali naslednjič, tokrat za Prešernovo nagrado, ga nismo nič spraševali. Na tem mestu bi se zato rad zahvalil Miljani Cunta s Slovenske matice, ki je vse to koordinirala, in SAZU, ki je predlog takoj podprla; resnično sem vesel, da ob tej priložnosti lahko sediva tukaj.

Due to interesting therapeutic properties of 177Lu and tumor avidity of tetraphenyl porphyrins (TPPs), 177Lu-tetraphenyl porphyrin was developed as a possible therapeutic compound. 177Lu of 2.6-3 GBq/mg specific activity was obtained by irradiation of natural Lu2O3sample with thermal neutron flux of 4 × 1013 n.cm-2.s-1. Tetraphenyl porphyrin was synthetized and labeled with 177Lu. Radiochemical purity of the complex was studied using Instant thin layer chromatography (ITLC) method. Stability of the complex was checked in final formulation and human serum for 48 h. The biodistribution of the labeled compound in vital organs of wild-type rats was studied up to 7 d. The absorbed dose of each human organ was calculated by medical internal radiation dose (MIRD) method. A detailed comparative pharmacokinetic study was performed for 177Lu cation and [177Lu]-TPP. The complex was prepared with a radiochemical purity: >97±1% and specific activity: 970-1000 MBq/mmol. Biodistribution data and dosimetric results showed that all tissues receive approximately an insignificant absorbed dose due to rapid excretion of the complex through the urinary tract. [177Lu]-TPP can be an interesting tumor targeting agent due to low liver uptake and very low absorbed dose of approximately 0.036 to the total body of human.

The nature of the text al-Kitâb and al-Sunnah of the provisions of inheritance is very limited and globally thus allowing the door of ijtihâd. Limited and global conditions said can be tolerated as long as does not violate the basic provisions of the Al-Qur’an itself. Results ijtihâd against inheritance verses of the Al-Qur’an in Indonesia partly contained in the compilation of Islamic law which was appointed by the Minister of Religion and the Presidential Instruction as a guide for religious court and Indonesia’s Islamic society in resolving the dispute case in the field of marriage law, inheritance and waqf. Article 177 of Book II of the Inheritance Law KHI those who called for the third part of the father although impressed hold because parts of it are not referred to by the verses of the Koran, but it does not make any mention of a new law which is different from the law of the Al-Qur’an. Based on the adage that an object must be an owner, the transfer of property to heirs who are still living with the media khalafiyah (forwarding ownership) in the case of Article 177 remain to be resolved by the law of the Al-Qur’an.

The crystallization of cadmium bis(1,3-thiazolidine-2-thionate), Cd(C3H4NS2)2 (1), is reported. Freshly prepared 1 reacts with Ph4P+X in a 1:2 ratio to give (Ph4P)2[Cd2(C3H4NS2)2X4] (X = I (4) or Br (5)). Crystallization of 1 from pyridine produces a solvate 7, which loses pyridine readily. X-ray analyses show that 1 has a polymeric sheet structure in which the C3H4NS2 ligands act as bidentate bridges through N and the exocyclic S and the Cd has a CdN2S2 kernel; 5 is isomorphous with 4, which contains a dimeric anion again with bridging through the N and exocyclic S of the heterocyclic ligands; and 7 is Cd(C3H4NS2)2(C5H5N)3·C5H5N, containing trigonal bipyramidal Cd(C3H4NS2)2(C5H5N)3 molecules, in which the C3H4NS2 ligands, both of which are monodentate and in equatorial positions, occur as a unique combination of S- and N-bound. Cadmium-113 NMR data for 1 in pyridine solution and solid-state CP-MAS 113Cd data for 1, 7, bis(pyridinium-4-thiolate)cadmium, and tetrakis(pyridinium-2-thiolate)cadmium nitrate are reported and discussed. The compound 1 has chemical and NMR spectroscopic properties that make it a useful standard for solid-state CP-MAS 113Cd NMR spectroscopy. Fokus utama penelitian ini yakni memanfaatkan energi yang terkandung didalam limbah panas dengan suhu < 55 C dengan penerapan penukar kalor tube bank sirip pelat datar susunan in-line sebagai sistem pemulihan limbah panas. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan efektivitas maksimum. Kecepatan udara bervariasi dari 0.5 hingga 2.5 m/s pada ST dan SL konstan. Pencatatan data terukur berupa temperatur, dan kecepatan setelah tercapai keadaan tunak. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas () menurun dengan meningkatnya kecepatan udara, dimana efektivitas () maksimum pada kecepatan udara 0.5 m/s sebesar 78,56%, sedangkan efektivitas () minimum pada kecepatan udara 2.5 m/s sebesar 47,69%. Penurunan efektivitas disebabkan oleh meningkatnya perpindahan panas actual (Qact) dan perpindahan panas maksimum (Qmax), namun gradien kenaikan perpindahan panas actual (Qact) sangat kecil jika dibandingkan dengan gradien kenaikan perpindahan panas maksimum (Qmax). Disimpulkan bahwa efektivitas () maksimum berada pada kecepatan udara minimum sebesar 0.5 m/s, yang berarti bahwa kecepatan udara lebih besar dari 0.5 m/s tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap efektivitas penukar kalor bare tube bank.

Abstract Abstract 5033 Background: Renal impairment (RI) is a relatively common feature of multiple myeloma (MM) and it has been shown in several studies that RI at diagnosis correlates to inferior survival, significant morbidity and increased early death rate. Aims: To understand the impact of RI on survival in the era of novel agents and to evaluate the efficacy of bortezomib-based treatment in patients presenting with RI. The primary endpoint of the study was overall survival (OS) in the whole population and renal response (RR) in 1st, 2nd and 3rd line treatment in a selected center (Karolinska). Time to progression (TTP), time to next treatment (TTNT), overall survival (OS) and MM response were the secondary endpoints. Methods: The study population included all patients diagnosed with MM since earliest January 2000 until latest June 2011 at 6 university clinics, 3 regional centers and 4 local hospitals in Sweden. A S-Creatinine limit of 177 μmol/L was chosen as cutoff for OS calculations. For a detailed analysis on RR all patients with MM with a S-Creatinine >=130 μmol/L that were diagnosed in clinical practice between January 2000 and July 2010 at Karolinska Huddinge and between January 2005 and July 2010 at Karolinska Solna were selected. This S-Creatinine limit was selected in an attempt to cover all MM patients with GFR <50 mL/min. The study population was divided into those receiving bortezomib and those receiving other drug combinations (control group). Results: The population consisted of 1642 patients, but S-Creatinine values were missing for 100 patients resulting in a study population of 1542 patients. Patients with S-Creatinine >=177 μmol/L (n=267) had a significantly worse median OS of 1. 9 years 95% CI[1. 5;2. 6] compared to S-Creatinine <177 μmol/L (n=1275), with a median OS of 4. 1 years 95% CI[3. 8;4. 4]; (p=<0. 001). Patients with >=177 in S-Creatinine receiving bortezomib (n=60) had a median OS of 2. 6 years compared to 1. 7 years in the control group (n=206) (p=0. 05). Of the 1542 patients, 556 were diagnosed and treated at our center. Ninety-five of these patients had a S-Creatinine >=130 μmol/L at diagnosis. Of the 95 patients 52 also had RI in 2nd line and 25 in 3rd line treatment resulting in a total of 172 treatment occasions where anti-myeloma treatment was given to patients with RI. There was no significant difference regarding age, sex, hemoglobin, β2-microglobulin, calcium, or albumin between the bortezomib-group and the control group. In the bortezomib-group, in 1st line treatment, 11 of 12 patients (92%) improved their GFR compared to 57 of 83 (69%) in the control group (p=0. 049). In the 2nd and 3rd treatment line the overall RR was 19% and 43% in the bortezomib treated compared to 23% and 28% in the control group (p=0. 749, and p=0. 257). When analyzing all treatment lines together the MM response was better in the bortezomib-group with significantly higher overall response rate of 80%, compared to 55% (p=0. 026). Median TTP in 1st, 2nd and 3rd line in the bortezomib-group was 18, 6 and 10 months and in the control group 11, 10 and 8 months. Median survival time was 3. 4 years for the control group, whereas 62% of the bortezomib treated patients still were alive at median time of follow up. Conclusion: RI is still an important prognostic marker in MM despite modern treatment with a proteasome inhibitor. Bortezomib-based regimens can partly overcome the negative impact of RI by a higher frequency of RR and MM responses, as well as an improved median OS in comparison to other treatment regimens for MM patients with RI. Abstract (sommario):

PPh4[ReF2Cl2(N2S2)] has been prepared by the reaction of PPh4[ReCl4(NSCl)2] · CH2Cl2 with sodium fluoride in acetonitrile suspension. The compound forms black crystals, which were characterized by IR spectroscopy as well as by an X-ray structure determination.Space group P21/c, Z = 4, 2525 observed unique reflexions, R = 0.053. Lattice dimensions at 20°C: a = 1277.4(3), b = 713.2(3), c = 2860.8(4) pm. β = 97.20(3)°. The compound consists of PPh4+ and [ReF2Cl2(N2S2)]- ions, in which the rhenium atom is surrounded octahedrally by two fluorine atoms, two chlorine atoms, and by the nitrogen atoms of a ReN2S2 five-membered ring, the fluorine ligands being in trans position to the N atoms. The bond lengths ReN (172; 177 pm) and NS (155; 160 pm) are in the range of double bonds, the S—S bond is relatively long (243 pm).

Abstract (sommario):

The murder of Jamal Khashoggi in the consulate of Saudi Arabia in Turkey is still controversial. The judgment relies on valid and reliable evidence. This study is vital due to investigating a murder case based on pragmatic meanings as language evidence broadcasted in media. This research employs Grice’s conversational implicature to investigate the murder of Jamal Khashoggi by analyzing the exposed recorded tapes of Jamal Khashoggi and the accused inside the consulate, the utterances of Khadija Changiz, the fiancée of Jamal Khashoggi, and Adel al Jubeir’s statements, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia as a representative of the Saudi Arabian. The design of this research is a case study, and content analysis is used to analyze the data based on Mayring’s (2000) qualitative content analysis. Based on the findings of the study, the recorded tapes of Jamal Khashoggi and the accused are outlined as ambiguous language. Saudi Arabia denied the murder by saving face, misleading the hearer, and skipping the questions, but later on, affirmed the murder and promised to bring justice. Hence, the results of this study will affect the verdict on the judicial decree, and the accusations will be prosecuted, and justice will be served to Jamal Khashoggi.

En esta investigación fueron evaluados 286 pacientes que presentaron conjuntivitis bacteriana como impresión diagnóstica más frecuente. En 286 cultivos microbiológicos realizados se obtuvieron 177 aislamientos bacterianos, encontrándose un 73.45% de flora Gram positiva siendo las especies más frecuentes S. epidermidis (48.46%), S. aureus (35.38%),S. pneumoniae (4.61%) y Corynebacterium sp. (2.31%). El 26.55% correspondió a bacilos Gram negativos de los cuales el 74.47% son enterobacterias y el 25.53% microorganismos no fermentadores. En este estudio no se encontró diferencia significativa entre la convivencia o no con animales y tipo de microorganismo aislado asociado a zoonosis.
