This research is about an Internet of Things (IoT) project and research about smart car development. IoT is machine or device that can transfer data over a network without a connection between human-to-human or human-to-device interaction. One of the significant of IoT is the revolution of smart car. This project is a research about smart car that help civilian in distress that have been caught in a natural disaster like land slide or even an earthquake and traps in a collapsed building or it can be a smart car that can recon the site. This smart car can assist the rescue squad to detect that survivor by going through the small hole that been create by the collapsed building and give the rescue squad the where about of the survivor and provide information to the rescuer about the site. The smart car also have solar system to power the system and can run longer than powered only with battery. The smart can also have anti capsize that may make the smart car overturn in the disaster site while roaming in the disaster to detect the victims. This feature help the smart car easily to roam freely with the unstable environment. The smart car also provided with camera for the rescue squad to analyse the structure in the disaster and avoid to dig the rubble or disaster site and killed the victims and the user can gain the insight of the site and gain information more detailed. The smart car can be controlled with a globe type controller for easier the user to control the smart car in the unstable and fragile site.

Abstract (sommario):
We compared the indicators of leukogram and ESR in the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic (2021) among employees of two institutions: SF "Peremoga Nova" Poultry Farm (15 people) and the State Fire and Rescue Squad (22 people). The workers of the poultry farm showed certain signs of the development of pro-inflammatory processes (an increase in the level of monocytes and ESR). Such signs are absent in the employees of the fire and rescue squad, which allows us to consider the conditions of professional activity as the main etiological factor of the identified trends. Emotional stress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic could be an additional trigger for the identified trends.

Abstract (sommario):
Purpose. The article discusses the possibility and necessity of forming and functioning of emergency rescue squads capable of carrying out a wide range of emergency rescue and other urgent operations at the mining industry facilities. Methods. The basis for theoretical researches was mathematical statistics methods, the mathematical modeling method, modeling and calculations related to the assessment of joint units forming and functioning for servicing hazardous production facilities of the mining industry. Findings. The study of statistical data on responses of the most loaded paramilitary mine rescue squads carried out on the territory of guarded hazardous production facilities of the mining industry of the Russian Federation for the period from 2015 to 2019 has been carried out. Substantiating the number of the mine rescue squads detachments for servicing calls has been carried out. The probabilistic, time and frequency characteristics of the failure-free call service have been used as criteria to substantiate the number n of the detachments. It has been found that accidents and incidents at mining sites are of a different nature, and mine rescue squads have a different load associated with the operational activity, which is explained by the industrial hazard of protected mining sites and industrial infrastructure. The main share of registered accidents at mining facilities are fires (52.4 %) and collapses (22.9 %). Research application field. The data obtained can be used in the organizational design of mine rescue units and services. Conclusions. The flow of destructive events at the mining industry facilities obeys the Poisson stationary distribution law, and the temporal characteristics of the mine rescue squads response process are described by the Erlang distribution. Methods of mathematical modeling functioning processes of urgent emergency rescue services can be used for organizational design of emergency rescue services and units at the mining industry facilities.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractObjectiveA disaster is a consequence of natural hazards and terrorist acts, which have significant potential to disrupt the entire wireless communication infrastructure. Therefore, the essential rescue squads and recovery operations during a catastrophic event will be severely debilitated. To provide efficient communication services, and to reduce casualty mortality and morbidity during the catastrophic events, we proposed the Tethered Balloon technology for disaster preparedness, detection, mitigation, and recovery assessment.MethodsThe proposed Tethered Balloon is applicable to any type of disaster except for storms. The Tethered Balloon is being actively researched and developed as a simple solution to improve the performance of rescues, facilities, and services of emergency medical communication in the disaster area. The most important requirement for rescue and relief teams during or after the disaster is a high quality of service of delivery communication services to save people’s lives.ResultsUsing our proposed technology, we report that the Tethered Balloon has a large disaster coverage area. Therefore, the rescue and research teams are given higher priority, and their performance significantly improved in the particular coverage area.ConclusionsTethered Balloon features made it suitable for disaster preparedness, mitigation, and recovery. The performance of rescue and relief teams was effective and efficient before and after the disaster as well as can be continued to coordinate the relief teams until disaster recovery. Abstract (sommario):
This paper assesses the Taipei's fire rescue capability against post-earthquake fires (PEFs) from a hypothetical earthquake. Taiwan's Shanchiao Fault was used as the trigger fault for establishing earthquake modeling assumptions. Monte Carlo simulation was used with hypocenter coordinates, the Richter magnitude scale, and earthquake focal depths as the uncertainty analysis variables for performing stochastic simulations of 100 sets of seismic event parameters. These parameters were entered into the Simple Earthquake Seismic System (SESS) and the Taiwan Earthquake Loss Estimation System (TELES) to conduct uncertainty analysis regarding PEFs. PEFs were simulated and the disaster readiness of all firefighting squads (strongholds) in Taipei was investigated to analyze the uncertainty in PEF rescues. The SESS analysis results indicate that the original risk probability was 25.26%, increasing to 45.88% with the activation of a regional mutual aid system. The original risk calculated by the TELES was 52.97%, which increased to 96.22% of the overall disaster response capacity requirements after the regional mutual aid system was launched. Although the SESS results remained below the 60% risk threshold following the launch of the regional mutual aid system, the rescue capacity was substantially increased. The TELES analysis results indicate that the regional mutual aid system can substantially increase local disaster rescue capacity, nearly satisfying all disaster resource scheduling requirements. The location, scale, and pattern of earthquakes and the resulting casualties are always uncertain. However, the results of this study verify that the 2 independently developed earthquake damage estimation systems can provide an effective reference for post-earthquake rescue scheduling assessments.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract: The tasks involved in rescue operations in coal mines are hazardous and life-threatening. Many explosions take place from time to time, but the miners are not aware of them. It is also very difficult for the rescue squad to comprehend the situation within the mine. Hazardous gases, high temperatures, methane leaks, and low oxygen levels are examples of environmental issues. An environmental monitoring robot system for remote sensing in coal mines is introduced in this study. This robot system is designed to remotely collect information about the coal mine's surroundings, in addition to performing observational tasks. As a result, this device can be thought of as a multifunctional sensor that enables distant sensing. When it senses danger, the robot system will send out signals warning rescuers to keep their distance. Lessons from the creation of the robot system may be applied to the development of future search-and-rescue systems

Childcare, which has been the responsibility of the family members and in the past exclusively happened inside the home, is not limited to one type anymore due to social change and participation of female in the labor force. Out-of-home childcare service has developed. For this reason, we discuss how micro-, meso- and macro-system factors influence the parents’ decision-making to choose grandparent childcare. This study takes qualitative method interviewing ten families with babies, ages 0-2, taken care of by the grandparents to gradually depict the look how grandparents care for their grandchildren. Most parents, influenced by factors like preferences, occupations, living patterns, financial conditions, childcare resources and system etc., choose grandparents as care givers. Moreover, on the one hand, grandparents as care providers help parents tackle childcare dilemma, but on the other hand, it also brings about the intergenerational differences in division of responsibilities and upbringing of children. It was discovered that the trend of increasing grandparent childcare, relatively economical and trustworthy, is restricted by personal and family condition. The effect of childcare system and polices, which only has subsidiary function, is not apparent here. Consequently, this study suggests the government formulate polices on the basis of grandparent childcare to increase diversified and close-to-public-opinion service and to create high-quality childcare service.

The fisheries acoustic technique, which is capable of directly assessing underwater populations over a large volume of waters in a short time, makes it a powerful tool for fisheries scientists. This paper dealt with the application of such technique to investigate the unexploited Purpleback Flying Squid (Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis) resource in the South China Sea. The results summarized as follows: (1) Mantle Length (ML) survey using especially designed squid jigger, which can cast down to a specific depth with notification of catching a squid specimen, as well as concurrent collection of in situ Target Strength (TS) using EK500 scientific echosounder were carried out and the results show : (i) the larger the ML the stronger the in situ TS; (ii) seasonal mean in situ TS of squid and its corresponding ML are -51.2dB and 15.0cm, in spring (February-April); -48.2dB and 18.9cm appeared in summer (May-July), -49.3dB and 17.1cm in autumn (August-October), -54.1dB and 13.8cm in winter (November-January), respectively. (2) A searching with validation algorithm was developed in this study to acquire the logarithm-linear relationship of in situ TS versus ML of the squid. The results are as follow: for ML from 10cm to 32cm. According to the depth range dispersion echoed by in situ squid TS, squid concentration of nighttime appeared in water column depth of 10-210m in spring and autumn; appeared in depth of 10-160m in summer and winter. (3) A procedure to extract the echo energy of squid signals from the total echo energy was developed, as to filter noises that mainly composed of background noise and. The precision improvement in Volume backscattering Strength (SV) due to such procedure is estimated about 11%. (4) Seasonal mean SV, which is essential for estimating abundance, of the squid obtained in this study show that: -77.9 dB in spring 1999, -70.6 dB in summer 1998, -75.8 dB in autumn 1999 and -72.2 dB in winter 1999. Seasonal mean squid abundance thus derived appeared to be 4.2 in spring; 8.9 in summer; 5.1 in autumn; and 26.1 in winter. (5) Female Gonad Index (GI), which is the ratio of gonad weight to total body weight multiplied by 100, is analyzed in this study. The results show: that GI is a good indicator for female maturation; GI larger than 3 (ML larger than 20cm) indicating a matured female, smaller than 2 (ML smaller than 15cm) indicating immature ones. Squids caught by in situ biological sampling device appeared that all matured in summer and all immatured in winter while both matured and immatured squid present in spring and autumn. (6) Assumed that the population of the Purpleback Flying Squid in the South China Sea was an enclosed stock and under a steady population condition in recent years, the basic population characters of this squid was postulated as follow: the main spawning season occurs in summer; the major detectable recruitment (ML large than 9 cm) occurs in winter with rather high density; yet the survival rate of this recruitment in next spring appeared to be low (about 20%). (7) The total surveyed one-degree square block area, within which biological survey conducted in this study has captured Purpleback Flying Squid, is about . The abundance of Purpleback Flying Squid in the South China Sea is estimated as individuals in summer 1998, which is also the spawning season of this species. The mean body weight of the squid in this season is about 0.3 kg, thus the estimated total standing stock size of this resource was about 1500 thousand metric tons in the offshore regions of the South China Sea.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractIn inland ports, where access is done navigating along an estuary, river or artificial canal, the operation may be strongly conditioned by the tide (in case it has enough wide run) or the water level in the river. The variations in water level imply restrictions on the draft of the vessels that can access such ports.Siport21 has been working for several years in ports of these characteristics, where there is no possibility to dredge the inland waterway. The alternative is to develop synchronization analysis tools, which allow identifying the “operational windows” and maximizing the draft of the vessels in transit operations. The result takes advantage of the tidal run by means of adequate planning, so that there is always enough underkeel clearance safety margin.Grounding risk estimation is elaborated applying Monte Carlo method. A failure (grounding) function is defined, considering the propagation of the tidal wave (water level and current), ship speed along the waterway, wind conditions, squat, and other variables. Probability distributions of all variables involved are considered, so that thousands of random navigation conditions can be simulated. This allows to estimate the failure probability. This methodology is applied to a practical case of a port that is carrying out actions to improve and optimize its operations. To do this, AIS data and tide data along the entire waterway, obtained from measurement sensors and a calibrated numerical prediction model, have been used.

Abstract When the republic of cells is threatened by physical damage, a panoply of responses explodes into action. The body has a 911 Rescue Squad, a SWAT team, a Rapid Deployment Force, a Red Cross, and a few other emergency response mechanisms that spring into coordinated action. A variety of specialized cells—some that were patrolling in the bloodstream and some that were waiting patiently in a kind of dormancy while nestled among the working cells of any given tissue—take emergency measures. The rescuer cells stop the bleeding, then clean up the debris of dead, dying, and damaged cells, and finally set about repairing and replacing whatever structures were lost.

Abstract When it was noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. Spain, 1899-1936. Angered by what he saw as the Catholic Church's indifference to suffering, Carda Lorca wrote: “We must rescue Jesus’ idea from your ruinous machinations.” While visiting New York City, he composed the dark poems posthumously collected as Poet in New York (including “Crucifixion”), which bitterly condemn modern culture. Accused by Franco of being a Russian spy, Garcia Lorca was executed by a firing squad during the Spanish Civil War. “Crucifixion” is translated from the Spanish by Greg Simon and Steven F. White.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract I had joined Newcastle upon Tyne City Police in 1955, when I was 16 years old. By the mid-l960s I was a detective constable in the city centre division, and subsequently spent seven years on the first drug squad in the North-East of England (Young 1977, 1979, 1991a). Having reached the rank of detective inspector, I obtained three year’s paid leave in 1974 on a Home Office Police Staff College Scholarship, and read Social Anthropology at Durham University. Returning to police work in 1977, I spent the next six years in and around the urban conurbation of Tyneside, and in 1982-3 was posted for some twenty months to South Shields as a deputy subdivisional commander—a somewhat grandiose piece of rhetoric for the prosaic position of local ‘chief inspector’. In many ways this rhetorical exaggeration is a pointer to the way symbolic form and gesture is used by the police to enhance and ‘construct their community . . . [thus] making it a resource and a repository of meaning’ (Cohen 1986: 17). It also gives an initial clue to the way the hierarchic principle dominates police thinking.

Abstract (sommario):
Building on the arguments presented in the previous chapters, this chapter is motivated by the following question: How does the drug enforcement regime’s addiction to increasing counternarcotic aid facilitate the expansion of American and other transnational corporate investments in Latin America and, in the process, create the conditions that give rise to corporate-induced repression? In answering this question, the chapter develops a theoretical framework that draws insights from the literature on foreign aid and its effect on foreign capital flows and then integrates these insights into theories of repression in dependent capitalist societies. It is argued that, in addition to combating drug trafficking, U.S. counternarcotic aid facilitates the expansion of American and other transnational corporate investments in Latin America by financing countries’ infrastructure development. In conjunction with neoliberal economic reforms, drug war infrastructure financing in Latin America is likely to facilitate the expansion of corporate investments by resource-seeking industries that require greater land use, which encroaches on the ancestral territories of Indigenous peoples. And, in response to Indigenous resistance to corporate appropriation of ancestral lands, resource-seeking transnational corporations will collude with local security forces, private security firms, and paramilitary death squads to repress and eliminate resistance to capital accumulation.

Abstract (sommario):
The cornerstone of modern biophysics is the comprehensive analysis by Hodgkin and Huxley (1952a,b,c,d) of the generation and propagation of action potentials in the squid giant axon. The basis of their model is a fast sodium current INa and a delayed potassium current IK (which here we also refer to as IDR)- The last 40 years of research have shown that impulse conduction along axons can be successfully analyzed in terms of one or both of these currents. Nonetheless, their equations do not capture—nor were they intended to capture—a number of important biophysical phenomena, such as adaptation of the firing frequency to long-lasting stimuli or bursting, that is, the generation of two to five spikes within 5-20 msec. Moreover, the transmission of electrical signals within and between neurons involves more than the mere circulation of stereotyped pulses. These impulses must be set up and generated by subthreshold processes. The differences between the firing behavior of most neurons and the squid giant axon reflect the roles of other voltage-dependent ionic conductances than the two described by Hodgkin and Huxley. Over the last two decades, more than several dozen membrane conductances have been characterized (Hagiwara, 1983; Llinás, 1988; Hille, 1992). They differ in principal carrier, voltage, and time dependence, dependence on the presence of intracellular calcium and on their susceptibility to modulation by synaptic inputs and second messengers. Our knowledge of these conductances and the role they play in impulse formation has accelerated rapidly in recent years as a result of various technical innovations such as single-cell isolation, patch clamping, and molecular techniques. We will here describe the most important of these conductances and briefly characterize each one. In order to understand more completely the functional role of these conductances in determining the response of the cell to input, empirical equations that approximate their behavior under physiological conditions must be developed and compared against the physiological preparations. In a remarkable testimony to the power and the generality of the Hodgkin-Huxley approach, the majority of such phenomenological models has used their methodology of describing individual ionic conductances in terms of activating and inactivating particles with first-order kinetics (see Chap. 6).

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract An optical measurement of membrane potential using a molecular probe can be beneficial in a variety of circumstances. One advantage is the possibility of simultaneous measurements from many locations. This is especially important in the study of the nervous system and the heart in which many parts of an individual cell, many cells, or many regions are simultaneously active. In addition, optical recording offers the possibility of recording from processes that are too small or fragile for electrode recording. Several different optical properties of membrane-bound dyes are sensitive to membrane potential, including fluorescence, absorption, dichroism, birefringence, FRET, nonlinear second harmonic generation, and resonance Raman absorption. However, because the vast majority of applications have involved fluorescence or absorption, these will be the only subjects of this review. All the optical signals described in this chapter are “fast” signals (Cohen and Salzberg, 1978) that are presumed to arise from membrane-bound dye; they follow changes in membrane potential with time courses that are rapid compared with the rise time of an action potential. Figure 6.1 illustrates the kind of result that is used to define a voltage-sensitive dye. In a model preparation, the giant axon from a squid, these optical signals are fast, following membrane potential with a time constant of less than 10 µsec (Loew et al., 1985) and their size is linearly related to the size of the change in potential (e.g., Gupta et al., 1981). Thus, these dyes provide a direct, fast, and linear measure of the change in membrane potential of the stained membranes.

Abstract (sommario):
In the Natural Language Processing field (NLP), Machine Reading Comprehension (MRC), which involves teaching computers to read a text and understand its meaning, has been a major research goal over the last few decades. A natural way to evaluate whether a computer can fully understand a piece of text or, in other words, test a machine’s reading comprehension, is to require it to answer questions about the text. In this sense, Question Answering (QA) has received increasing attention among NLP tasks. For this study, we fine-tuned BERT Portuguese language models (BERTimbau Base and BERTimbau Large) on SQuAD-BR - the SQuAD v.1.1 dataset translated to Portuguese by the Deep Learning Brazil group - for Extractive QA task, in order to achieve better performance than other existing models trained on the dataset. As a result, we accomplished our objective, establishing the new state-of-the-art on SQuAD-BR dataset using BERTimbau Large fine-tuned model.

Abstract (sommario):
Modeling sentence pairs plays the vital role for judging the relationship between two sentences, such as paraphrase identification, natural language inference, and answer sentence selection. Previous work achieves very promising results using neural networks with attention mechanism. In this paper, we propose the multiway attention networks which employ multiple attention functions to match sentence pairs under the matching-aggregation framework. Specifically, we design four attention functions to match words in corresponding sentences. Then, we aggregate the matching information from each function, and combine the information from all functions to obtain the final representation. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed multiway attention networks improve the result on the Quora Question Pairs, SNLI, MultiNLI, and answer sentence selection task on the SQuAD dataset.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract In the current generations of devices the die and its package are closely integrated to achieve desired performance and form factor. As a result, localization of continuity failures to either the die or the package is a challenging step in failure analysis of such devices. Time Domain Reflectometry [1] (TDR) is used to localize continuity failures. However the accuracy of measurement with TDR is inadequate for effective localization of the failsite. Additionally, this technique does not provide direct 3-Dimenstional information about the location of the defect. Super-conducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID) Microscope is useful in localizing shorts in packages [2]. SQUID microscope can localize defects to within 5um in the X and Y directions and 35um in the Z direction. This accuracy is valuable in precise localization of the failsite within the die, package or the interfacial region in flipchip assemblies.

Abstract (sommario):
Knowledge Graphs (KGs) are a type of knowledge representation that gained a lot of attention due to their ability to store information in a structured format. This structure representation makes KGs naturally suited for search engines and NLP tasks like question-answering (QA) and task-oriented systems; however, KGs are hard to construct. While QA datasets are more available and easier to construct, they lack structural representation. This availability of QA datasets made them a rich resource for machine learning models, but these models benefit from the implicit structure in such datasets. We propose a framework to make this structure more pronounced and extract KG from QA datasets in an end-to-end manner, allowing the system to learn new knowledge in incremental learning with a human-in-the-loop (HITL) when needed. We test our framework using the SQuAD dataset and our incremental learning approach with two datasets, YAGO3-10 and FB15K237, both of which show promising results.

Abstract (sommario):
Jumping is a natural exertion that occurs during a variety of human activities including playing sports, working, skateboarding, dancing, escaping from hazardous events, rescue activities, and many others. During jumping, the ankles in particular are expected to support the entire body weight of the jumper and that may lead to ankle injuries. Each year hundreds of patients are treated for ankle sprains/strains with ankle fractures as one of the most common injuries treated by orthopedists and podiatrists. The knee joint is also considered the most-often injured joint in the entire human body. Although the general anatomy of the lower extremities is fairly well understood, an understanding of the injury mechanism during these jumping tasks is not well understood. The aim of this study is to determine the reaction forces exerted on legs and joints due to vertical jumps, through musculoskeletal simulation and experimental studies to better understand the dynamic jump process and the injury mechanism. The joint reaction forces and moments exerted on the ankle, knee and hip joint during takeoff and extreme squat landing of a vertical jump were determined through the application of musculoskeletal simulation. It is concluded that during extreme squat landing of a vertical jump, joint reaction forces and moments were highest in proximal/distal and anteroposterior direction may cause most likely injury to the hip joint ligaments, ankle fracture and knee joint, respectively.

Abstract (sommario):
The analysis of the lower limb explosive power was performed on two of the most valuable Romanian triple jumpers in 2013.One of the tested athletes was Marian Oprea,Olimpic silver medallist in 2004 Athena and in a same time Romanian record holder on senior triple jump event with a result of 17,81 m. The other tested athlete was Valentin Scanghel, Romanian record holder, also in triple jump event on IIIthJuniors category, with 14,70 m, as personal best. The used device for the investigation of explosive power of lower limbs was Optojump Next System. In order to identify the level of explosive power of lower limb, each athlete performed three tests related to standing repetitive jumping of two legs and one test addressed to single maximal jump on two legs. The used tests were : 15 seconds repetitive jumps test; 30 seconds repetitive jumps test; stiffness jumps test and squat jump test. The order of test execution was:the first one,15sec. jump test, the second, 30 sec. jump test, then squat jump test and stiffness test. During the tests it was followed H-average height reached by center of mass, Tf- flying time, Tc- contact time, Pwr- power. Also, other parameters, such as: specific energy(J/Kg), specific power(w/kg), total energy (J) and total power(W)were determined by the Optojump Next System software on each performed test. Comparing the results we are able to identify the level of anaerobic alactacid power, the level of maximal explosive power and the level of reactive power and muscular elasticity, which can be used in the training process.

Abstract (sommario):
Fascism in the border region of Venezia Giulia/Julija krajina was confronted with the unfamiliar social and political conditions, ‘tradition’ and multiculturalism of the former territories of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In this territory, the beginnings of the heterogeneous resistance to the violence of the Italian authorities date back to the period between 1918 and 1920 and consisted mainly of the expression of ‘Slavic’ sentiments, various demonstrations, anti-Italian propaganda, and informing Yugoslavia about the situation in the area. In the pre-election period, the fascist squads attacked and destroyed everything that seemed hostile to them. On the day of the national elections on 15 May 1921 throughout the region incidents occurred, trying to turn the result in their favour by force. In particular, the Socialists and Communists were under attack in all of Italy. In Slovenian Istria, the best-known response to the violence is the local revolt in Marezige. A group of 11 fascists arrived in the village in the morning and immediately started provoking and forcing voters to vote for Blocco Nazionale. When the fascists started to shoot, the locals reacted spontaneously, attacking the fascists first with stones, and the fascists responded with shots. The outraged people killed three and seriously wounded one man. From Koper the available force of carabinieri and soldiers were sent, joined by fascists and three republicans. The latter immediately resorted to violence, but the soldiers and carabinieri soon restored order. However, in the marches that followed, the fascist squads took revenge on the nearby village of Čežarji. The Marezige uprising culminated in a highly publicised trial in Trieste. The fascists were acquitted based on the amnesty decree, which did not apply to the Slovenians. Those affected by the fascists’ rampage have never been compensated nor were they held responsible for their actions.
