Testo completoChina, a multinational country with 56 nationalities, has a complex linguistic configuration with more than two hundred languages within its borders. The prestige and hegemonic position of standardized contemporary chinese relegates the languages and cultures of the 55 ethnic minorities to the shadows, in contrast to a state policy that advocates the “flowering of the 56 nationalities in the great family of the Chinese Nation”. In the current context where China tackles controversially the ethnic issues and where we are witnessing an accelerated urbanization and globalization, this thesis aims to highlight the language practices, glottopolitical interventions, language representations, and sociolinguistic identity of Tibetans in their aspirations for educational and social success in mainland China, specifically in Shandong province – our field of research. Our reflection is based on a sociolinguistic survey, carried out with a group of Tibetan students attending school in Shandong, quantitatively and qualitatively
Cassagnaud, Josy. "Dynamique des représentations et des pratiques langagières en milieu plurilingue : le cas des jeunes, vivant dans un banga, à Mayotte". Rouen, 2007. http://www.theses.fr/2007ROUEL596.
Testo completoThis thesis explores the everyday uses of language by male adolescents in the multilingual environment of Mayotte. The sample chosen concerns 22 adolescents living in bangas, small huts built by the adolescents themselves at puberty, according to well defined rituals. Mayotte belongs to the Comorian archipelago situated in the Canal between Mozambique and Madagascar, The population is composed of three ethnical groups (African, Asian, and Mediterranean) and the presence of three families of languages (Bantu, Semitic, and Malay-Polynesian) is representative of the process of acculturation and assimilation that has integrated distinct and yet exclusive groups into a way of life peculiar to Mayotte. The present linguistic situation is the result of different waves of migration, without taking into account the fact that that this island has been French since 1841. Alongside French, two traditional oral languages are locally predominant (the Shibushi and the Shimaore). Indeed, Mayotte, unlike the three other islands that make up the Comorian archipelago, has a second native language derived from Sakalave, a language which originates in the north of Madagascar. This oral language has two variants, the Kibushi-Kimaore and the Kiantalaoutsi. Shibushi is spoken in about ten villages, while Kiantalaoutsi, apart from two villages, is only spoken by the inhabitants of the immediate outskirts of Mamoudzou. French, the colonial language, used in public services and in schools, has generated related socio-cultural learning problems. Inadequate knowledge of French may partly explain the level of academic failure even though perceptions towards French are undergoing a change, notably because of its importance on the linguistic marketplace : it is no longer perceived as a colonial language which render users “kafir” infidel, but instead as the “language of bread and butter,” enabling its users to find jobs. The adolescents in this survey used local languages mainly within their familial framework and among their peers. Local languages, shimaoré and shibushi fulfill two functions : one of integration and the other of identification – a function of integration insofar as the use of the local language is, in itself, evidence of affiliation. But although the adolescents questioned, endorsed their continued attachment to local languages, and particularly to their mother tongue, they nonetheless admitted unanimously that it was hardly possible to avoid using French. Moreover, they remarked a loss of vocabulary in local languages and the increased presence of words borrowed from French. As in the “cités,” of the suburban areas of France, a specific “youth language” has emerged as something of a trend in the urban areas of Mamoudzou, the capital of Mayotte, and this “youth language” has started to become generalized even in outer “bush” villages. The nature of the intended message, whether phatic, cryptic, or amusing, determines the choice of the language used, and this in turn, determines the extent of code-switching between languages observed. This phenomena of a specific “youth language” may also be observed in some African countries, in Madagascar and on the island of Reunion, etc. The emergence of a “language” for communicating with portable telephones has also been remarked along with the concomitant passion for these devices, and French tends to be favored with this mode of communication because local languages are not standardized enough. French has thus become the language of modernity. And although it may be inadequately mastered, French remains a very important part of the local linguistic repertoire and has evolved to the point where it is now the language used to express emotions, a fact attested by its favored status in love-letters. This situation of hierarchical bilingualism remains complex and much work is needed before a linguistic politic that allows more balanced multilingualism can be envisaged in order to prevent local languages from disappearing under the present hegemonic pressure of French

Testo completoThe linguistic policy in favor of the common romani in Romania induces a sociolinguistic rupture in the Roma linguistic practices and representations. The discourses supporting the standard romani imposition realize a unified representation of the Roma through the reduction of the signifiers' polysemy used to qualify them. Because of the fundamental dialogic property of language, these regulating language forces mark the Roma discourses without annihilating the subjective part in the naming, significations, or diverse representations of the identity positions - in discourse. The subjective discourse about language enforces a rupture in the language relation, evolving from a pragmatic relation to judgements of values. Finally, the school adds a reflexive and a subjective telation to language. It appears as an emergence's sign of a norm founded as a law not as an average use. The didactics choices concerning the treatment of variations, like a continuum or a hierarchy could be determinant regarding to the evolution of the Roma linguistic practices characterized by the diglossic rapport

Testo completoThe current compositional techniques tend to consider the musical speech according to a global nature. The combination of the various dimensions of the writing proposes distinct spaces; parametric spaces. These parametric spaces must be considered under a metaphorical optics: they represent the sound characteristics of the musical speech, the resultants of various associations of parameters. By taking supports on the analyses of Ethers by Tristan Murail, of Nachtmusik I by Emmanuel Nunes and of Spiri by Franco Donatoni I will try to characterize the various types of parametric spaces according to their aesthetic heritages. Lastly, I will analyze one of my works, Hier ne finira que demain et demain a commencé il y a dix mille ans, which is developed in his entirety on a dialectical between different parametric spaces. This last analysis will allow me, I hope for it, to propose the various characteristics raised in this thesis and to show the relevance of a use of these parametric spaces within a musical speech

Testo completoThis research work focuses on the language practices of alloglot students born in France. Its objective is twofold. On the one hand, it aims to study the language practices of these students based on their plurilingual and pluricultural skills and their exposure to French at home, in a comparative approach with allophone students. On the other hand, it claims to identify the representations, as well as the choices and didactic actions, of primary school teachers when they are responsible for teaching the language of instruction to these pupils. The problem of this study concerns the influence of the language practices of alloglot students born in France on the representations, choices and didactic actions of teachers in priority education (PE). Two hypotheses emerge from this: the over-representation of alloglot students in PE leads teachers to overestimate their language difficulties; the practical epistemology of the teacher and the language dispositions of alloglot students influence the joint didactic action in PE. The field of study includes eighteen classes of preparatory courses (CP) and medium courses (CM2) in EP and outside EP, for a total of 417 students and 18 teachers. The language practices of allophones born in France are examined in parallel with those of allophones at the context (EP/non-EP) and class level (CP/CM2) levels. The aim is to characterize the language practices of alloglots born in France and to question a specificity of plurilingualism in PE that may influence teachers' representations

Testo completoThis dissertation identifies language practices and representations of Syrian refugees living in Zaatari camp in Jordan. Its objective is to understand the socio-language reality as it is experienced from within the camp in order to offer suggestions for an education that address the specificities of refugees’ language needs. To do this, I carried out a microsociological study of the interviews I conducted with numerous refugees and the drawings they produced. Based on an interdisciplinary approach and an ethnographic methodology, two levels of analysis are proposed. The first level highlights the characteristics of the camp as an apparatus, its paradoxes, its toponyms, and some of its political and humanitarian issues. The second level focuses on the meaning and the role of language learning and its use in this marginal space. In so doing, this level sheds light on the changing dynamic of refugees’ language identity, their relationship to otherness, their language subjectivation, and their diverse motivations. The dissertation explores the change of language paradigm in the camp through various refugees’ everyday, professional, and educational situations. It analyzes the impact of such a change on refugees’ relation to languages, particularly Arabic and English. It further examines the language lessons that are provided by schools and NGOs and supports the need for a “tailor-made” school program that is appropriate for students who are survivors of trauma. The dissertation evaluates the relevance of a biographical approach aimed at reinforcing academic resilience and finally advocates for a plurilingual and intercultural education that would contribute to developing intersubjectivity and empathy among Syrian refugees and humanitarian workers

Testo completoThis thesis examines the links between the history of the french word "cité", the construction of four "cités" in Lyon, and the later interpretations of these projects and their name. It shows that the ways in wich cities and neighbourhoods are seen and represented are not static ; they are not built outside praxis that they would guide, but originate from within these praxis. The research suggests interactions between ordinary, professional and scholarly representations and questions the contribution of social sciences to the stigmatization of working class neighbourhoods
Leconte, Fabienne. "Ils parlent en Black : pratiques et attitudes langagières Black : pratiques et attitudes langagières des enfants originaires d'Afrique Noire". Rouen, 1996. http://www.theses.fr/1996ROUEL250.
Testo completoThey speak in "Black". This study presents the sociolinguistic situation of children originating from Africa in France. Based on a study involving 350 children ageing from 9 to 15, the author analyses their linguistic practices inside as welle a outside the family. Particular attention has been given to factors influencing the transmission of African languages in France : social, cultural, and factors related to the migration history and the sociolinguistic situation in the countries of origin. The roles of the communication situation, age and gender has also been taken in consideration. Furthermore, the author examines children attitudes towards their African language(s) and French. Moreover, the very important symbolic function of the African language is not incompatible with an eventual linguistic insecurity and the integration of sociolinguistic minorisation, whose target are the linguistic practices of migrant africans. Finally, using semi-directive interviews, the author examines the correlation beetween linguistic insecurity integration of the minorisation and construction of additive or substractive bilinguality

Testo completoThe research aims at determining to what extent the teacher's and pupil's linguistic pratices in the classroom contribute towards the creation of a mental image of sciences teached in school. This study is based on the idea that having a mental image of any subject helps the teacher and the pupils build a consciousness of that subject which will, in turn, contribute to clearer learning. The analysis of this image tries to highlight the way in which attitudes, values, knowledge and scientific concepts are constructed by the linguistic pratices used in the classroom. Numerous studies explore the aspects of verbal communication used during scientific activities which allow the building of, knowledge scientific attitudes and approaches. The linguistic pratices participate in the social building of knowledge and attitudes, appear advantageous for the updating of a certain image of the subject. In this study, the verbal interactions during a session of sciences and debates led by pupils of three CM2 classes using very different pedagogical approaches were analysed, from the point of view of linguistic practices, in order to show how the mental image was translated into acts. Analysis of pupil's and teacher's declarations also complete these characterizations. It thus becomes possible to get an insight into the intelligibility of the image of science in class
Nys, Marion. "Développement des représentations spatiales d'itinéraires virtuels : composantes cognitives et langagières". Thesis, Sorbonne Paris Cité, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015PA05H104/document.
Testo completoAlthough many studies have investigated spatial representation in young adults, little is still known about the processes underlying how they construct spatial models, the nature of these models, and how they develop in children. The originality of this thesis is two-fold: it studies both cognitive and linguistic processes involved in how children (5 to 11 years) and adults construct representation of virtual routes; it also examines individual differences in these processes. The first part of this thesis begins with a chapter that presents the main concepts underlying spatial cognition, as well as some experimental evidence concerning adults' spatial knowledge and the development of this knowledge during childhood. A second chapter then focuses on the role of language and a third one on the role of working memory in the construction of spatial representations. In order to understand how children construct spatial representation during development, a second part of the thesis presents three experiments investigating the development of landmark and route knowledge. The first two studies show developments in the quality and quantity of knowledge concerning both landmarks (i.e. specific entities encountered along the route) and the route (i.e. the sequential order of actions and landmarks). They also provide evidence supporting the specific role of landmarks associated with changes of direction ("decisional" landmarks) in children and adults. Developmental changes in spatial knowledge were assessed by both verbal and non-verbal measures, suggesting the existence of a unique representation or of two representations that are strongly related. The relation between verbal and non-verbal information in participants' representations is evidenced by their bias toward choosing a related landmark of the same semantic category, regardless of its visual characteristics. Nevertheless, analyses show that visuo-spatial abilities such as the perception of directions, but not verbal abilities, play a main role in accounting for individual differences. The third study, investigates verbal and visuo-spatial components of working memory, using a dual task paradigm in which participants performed a verbal or spatial interference task while memorizing routes. The results support the idea that representing itineraries mostly involves a spatial mode of encoding in children and a more verbal or mixed encoding in adults. To conclude, this thesis shows a development in children's capacity to build spatial representations of virtual routes. Although their representation seems to integrate both verbal and non-verbal components, non-verbal abilities appear to be most essential for children. The last part of the thesis discusses the implications of our results for our understanding of the development of spatial cognition in children, as well as future perspectives and conclusions

Desjeux, Cyril. "Pratiques, représentations et attentes masculines de contraceptions". Paris, EHESS, 2009. http://www.theses.fr/2009EHES0079.
Testo completoThe purpose of this thesis is to understand the masculine practices, representations and expectations about contraception. It is part of several sociologies (family, intimacy, gender, sexuality, science, body, health) and creates a new "interactionist" type of perspective. In other words, the contraceptive behaviour of men should be perceived as dynamic and in relation with the female partner. From an overall qualitative approach, which gives priority to an inductive and understanding starting point, this thesis will show that men's involvement in contraception, and mostly their ability to change, partly depend on the women who are part of their social, sexual and conjugal environment. On the one hand, the interviews of (26) men, (23) women health specialists (16) and men of Ardecom (2) show that a process increases men's awareness of contraception. During this learning process, women play the role of initiators (friends or sisters), educators (mother) or prescribers (partner). On the other hand, their involvement which stands at the crossroads of the intimate, private and public spheres of their life, means that men need to find another social and symbolic place, which includes a reappropriation phase
Monnin, Éric. "L'olympisme : pratiques et représentations en milieu scolaire". Besançon, 2007. http://www.theses.fr/2007BESA1018.
Testo completoQuestions inevitably arise from the growth of the olympic phenomenon along with the general fervour it creates around the globe. To answer them one should look back to the times of ancient Greece when the Olympic Games appeared; thus, one gets a better understanding of what Pierre de Coubertin had in mind when he revived them in 1896. He coined the neologism “olympism” and wished to promote gatherings of peace-minded people from all over the world. But the nature of modern olympism is a complex one, partaking of myth, utopia and ideology. Each of these aspects should be investigated if one wants to grasp how they are perceived in today’s society. Few studies have been made on the theme of olympism in the educational milieu, which offers much scope for research work. Conducting an investigation has proved to be an adequate tool for understanding the practices and perceptions related to olympism among the pupils and physical education teachers in secondary schools. To that end, a survey has been carried out through questionnaires; 273 answers from pupils and 82 from teachers have been collected in the local education authority of Besançon. Processing these answers has made it possible to gauge the gap between the practices and perceptions of the two target groups. Analysing that survey is a real opportunity to reflect on the olympic system and to put forth explanatory hypotheses on the perception of that phenomenon in the educational milieu
Abdellatif, Slama Soumaya. "L'adoption en Tunisie : vécu, pratiques et représentations". Thesis, Strasbourg, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012STRAG035.
Testo completoQuestioning adoption, in a context of a controversial evolution of the representations of parenthood in Tunisia, compels one to dwell upon the social, cultural and legal backgrounds where it belongs. Social discourse on adoption continues to promote the idea of a dichotomy of parenthood, divided between biological parenthood - "blood" or "natural" parenthood- and social parenthood - "emotional" or "heart-based" parenthood. Based on accounts of adoptive parents and adoptees, we tried to identify the different dimensions of the experience of adoption and of the relationships within the adoptive parenthood. In building a relationship of adoption, representations appear as a primary mediator. The study of the various points raised directly questions the role of multi parenting through the practices and representations of adoptive kinship in a socio-political movement. It also allows to determine the relationship between genealogy and subjectivity in the process of identity construction
Ben, Saad-Dusseaut Fatma. "Pratiques professionnelles du journalisme et représentations des victimes". Bordeaux 3, 2009. http://www.theses.fr/2009BOR30063.
Testo completoThe representations of victims in the media were analyzed in more general researches on the social reactions to the crime, but more rarely in the intrinsic mechanisms of the relation media-victims; an interaction which, let us imagine, possesses his own dynamics. Our theoretical reflection took support on an approach which journalistic exercise is considered as material and symbolic production based on interactions and social standards. The social logics determine the functioning of the journalistic practices through the various forms of interactions and dependences between the journalists and the society to which they belong. These engender representations which result from interpretations elaborated by the journalists of the social environment. The media space which seems accessible to the victims is it, really, only for a certain type of victims. We assist, obviously, a media exploitation targeted by the suffering of the victims and the representations which they embody. Besides, the exaggerated attention carried to the victims contributes to provoke a discursive formatting where several media impose their own specific railings on the reading of the "reality" which is other one than the way she treats the subjects of their preoccupation. This media exploitation of the suffering knows in his turn a second political exploitation. From there, it is not surprising any more to confuse “true” and “false” victims since the media validation of the suffering, got back by a “political doggedness”, seems to get the upper hand over the judicial and\or medical pledge. We have to hope that the " media due skids " in the conformist treatment and compassionnel to these victims, stressed by evident trade and political interests, will allow a questioning of the journalistic practices. A return towards ethical rules, among which media and journalists will assure the application and the respect, seems inevitable

Testo completoThis work is the fruit of a field investigation dealt with young people issued from Moroccan immigration (second and third generation) in Nanterre. It aims to study the report of the young people to their language of heritage. This study tried to answer the following questions: Are the arab and berber languages well transmitted in the Moroccan families at Nanterre? What do they represent for the young people? Which place do they take in the construction of their identity ? We started from an observation: the young people of the ` third generation' develop attitudes and linguistic practices different from those of the ` second generation'. In order to check this postulate, declared practices and observed practices were compared and confronted with what the young people themselves think of these practices (self-evaluation of skills) and with the representations they make of their languages of heritage (valorization/devaluation). This study shows that beyond their effectif transmission, the arab and berber languages preserve for all the young people a strong symbolic value. They are a paramount component of their identity

Testo completoA description of stutterings and speech disfluency is out of a corpus of of spoken arabic by algerian children a more thoroughfull analysis is carried out on the corpus of two pre-chool aged stutters. The analysis deals with the links between the loci of stuttering and linguistic aspects such as phonetical and morphological structure of the words, their place in the utterances, the length of the words and of the utterances, the structure and the modalitie of the utterance. It appers that the different kinds of stuttering (such as : repetitions, blocktensions, vocalic lengthenings, additions) cannot be dealt with in a single way as does the main stream of th litterature on the subject. The phonetic analysis shows that most of the sttutterings occurs on the back phonemes then on the middle phonemes, and the front phonems syntaxic analysis shows that the "function words" are more often stuttered than, in that order, the verbs, the names and the abjectives stutterings occur more frequently on the beginning of the word or of the utterance. When utterances are long stutterings reappear in the middle or at the end of the utterance. Lastly, stutterings seem to be connected with the complexity of the struture of the utterance, complexity which is itself linked the planning of the speech in work (especially for the assertions) and with the involvement of the speaker
Costa, Galligani Stéphanie. "Le français parlé par des migrants espagnols de longue date : biographie et pratiques langagières". Grenoble 3, 1998. http://www.theses.fr/1998GRE39041.
Testo completoThis study, which is at the intersection of the following disciplines linguistics, sociolinguistics and language acquisition, focuses on the french language skills, usages and practices of long term spanish migrants. It highlights the specificity of their language behaviour with regard to the relationship between their native language and french, the language of the country of migration. The linguistic objectives aim at a analysis of the data collected from four spanish migrants observed during an interview. A linguistic description of the speech of bilingual subjects, having received little schooling and no formal french lessons, is undertaken from the recorded interviews. This descriptive phase highlights their language behaviour in french (in terms of code-switching) which is examined in terms of grammatical categories selected according to the variance of forms. The sociolinguistic objectives embrace more individual aspects of bilingualism, particularly the vision subjects have of their own bilingualism, but also the importance of the languages in their verbal repertoire, their attitudes to the languages and finally the path of acquisition. The consequences of bilingualism in the context of migration will be apprehended largely from the point of view of identity with regard to the strategies developed by the subjects, such as the maintenance of their spanish accent as a sign of recognition of their bilingual identity

Testo completoMigrant children grow up in bilingual and multilingual surroundings in France and are often considered as allophones. The relationship of children to languages changes during their development, but few of them master two languages. We were interested in children growing up in immigrant families speaking soninke, which is a West African language of oral tradition. For that, by means the ELAL d'Avicenne, a unique tool created and developed by a multidisciplinary team in the department of child and adolescent psychopathology at Avicenne hospital, we met 4 to 6 year-old children in Mauritania (Soninke) and in France (French and Soninke). Language assessments of these children linked to their family stories and their parents' migration stories, have allowed us to initiate tracks on the factors involved in the acquisition and transmission of, the soninke language in France, and to show the importance of bilingualism, regardless of its degree, in transcultural situations

Testo completoThis study tries to understand the popular and bourgeois forms of social organization in the 19th century Lyon. The people don't exist in a sociological sense but take shape through shared behaviors. The "bourgeoisies" also exist as a group with common attitudes. But between them, there is a real gap of sensitivities; furthermore, the power represented by the "bourgeoisies" tries to impose its own norms. The power's normative project wants to cover the entire society in order to control it - old idea whose application could not be possible before the 19th century, in particular through lack of a good police system ; however, if a control is exerted, the total monitoring remains a chimera. Popular "self regulation", as for it, leads to the existence of norms which have to be followed by all ; their respect is ensured by the neighborhood which arbitrates disagreements by its presence and possible reactions. These two ways of managing the social operate in a same way but there is a gap between them, because the power's threshold of tolerance is lower than the people one hence disagreements, conflicts, deceits and also agreements and modus vivendi. Beyond all these relations of power, one of the lessons of this study is that the 19th century urban society cannot be come down to a falling of the "Ancien Régime" nor content itself to be the prelude to the modernity of the next century. This urban society has got its own logics which seem to disintegrate from the 1880's

Testo completoOccitan, historic language of a large part of Aquitaine is threatened. Today. Practices, representations, and public bill of this minority language, enable to assess its actual position. Sociolinguistic surveys conducted in the region, and the comparative ones, conducted in other occitan areas, highlight a minor intergenerational transmission. However, according to the interviews, the answers to the questionnaires dispatched to the culture officials and the detailed account of the associations, a real vitality appears. The description of institutional measures reveals the obstacles linked to the lack of official recognition of the regional languages in France. Integrating all these facts, Fishman’s scale (GIDS) gives a synthetic vision of the language that allows to assess the stage of threat which hangs over. This diagnosis then takes place in a Reversing Language Shift and prepares a thought about language planning for occitan in Aquitaine

Testo completoMotivated by the challenge of the human being’s construction based on the individual reading experience we focused our analysis onregional literature material recommended by the Guyanese State Department of Education. In connection with the general objective of the course of Literature which seeks the education of the citizen we questioned the opportunity to offer high school students, at least in this context, a larger exposure to regional literature that corresponds to their familiar environment and living experience. In French Guiana, the archetype of the modern, stable and homogeneous individual as an academic requirement legitimating the transmission of national culture generates most of the time offset situations that the learner subject has to manage. Nowadays, in a society reconfigured by massive migrations of the late twentieth century, the combination of traditional referents from a primary culture superimposed to the global media speech increases the consequences of those differences. In our opinion, students from French Guiana involved in regional literature that deals with a realistic approach of the society and with a reflection about civism are certainly more able to mobilize the relevant resources that they will reinvest in their personal learning process. The theoretical framework of our purpose is related, in terms of civic training, to the issue of transmission of literature as well as to the historical and educational context associated with it that also include the concept of Guyanese literature and the relation with the theories of literary reception and the scientific questions they imply. On the basis of a free reading offered to students and focused on a Guyanese writer’s corpus we intended, in terms of discourse analysis, to assess the relevance of this proposal. Our methodology is based on a qualitative analysis of collected data. This epistemological approach is essentially explorary, descriptive or progressive depending on the situations encountered

Testo completoToday, as french housing is becoming « sustainable », it is time to question ourselves about the practice of alternative conceptions, like geobiology and fengshui. Two points of view are at stake : professional pratices and representations of the relation between environment and human being. What are this practices and representations developed by geobiology and fengshui practioners ? What can these traditional conceptions tell us about the prevalent environmental approach ? Which connexions possibly exist between them ?Two situations seem to shap : the geobiology and fengshui practitioners would have a holist and monist perception of the environment-humain being relation, while the architects of the environmental approach would have a naturalist one. Three main corpus compound the empirical research : 45 interviews with practitioners, an analysis of 18 reference books, and an analysis of 9 archtectural projects, all coming from the three housing conceptions studied.Rupture biographic paths and near professional practices for the geobiology and fengshui, varied representations of environment and human being clustered around big types, existence of a « transfer » phenomenon wich leads to the definition of qualititve ad ethical ways of being, or « habitabilities », are the main results of this reseach. Geobiology and fengshui are certainly able to interrogate architectural and urban production, as our ecology. It was the final goal of this reseach, which lies on diferent sociology fields, and tries to propose a multidsciplinary look which aimes at the definition of a philosophy of live-in and a socio-anthropology of housing

Testo completoThis work of thesis is situated in the continuity of the searches on the contacts of languages in Senegal, multilingual country. Senegal just like the other French-speaking African countries presents a sociolinguistic space characterized by contacts between national languages and the official language, French giving birth to a form to speak urban called "urban Wolof" or "franwolof".This study concerns the Wolof and the sérère, the national languages of Senegal, in touch with French, within the framework of uses which are made in the New information technologies and of the Communication still (NTIC). Analyses will be led compared to the oral practices and from the messages collected on Facebook and on discussion forums. How the national languages that are the Wolof and the sérère are valued in the linguistic practices and on the Internet ? This main interrogation will be associated with the following various questions of research : what relationships national languages (Wolof and sérère) they do maintain in the oral and with French in the on-line exchanges? / What differences with the oral practices? The Wolof and the sérère are they valued in the linguistic practices and in the electronic exchanges ? How the participants and the Internet users show their identities in their exchanges? How materialize the representations of the speakers with regard to (compared with) the languages which they speak ? What is the place of both national languages at the beginning of the 21th century in a Senegalese society marked by the multilingualism? What is the place of the languages in the definition of the identities of multilingual speakers? / What interests (in the material and symbolic point of view) are made by the use of these languages by the speakers? What roles for their valuation? To bring answers to these questions, the analysis will concern the notions of identity, representations, diglossia, the statutes of these three languages which coexist within the Senegalese territory, on the arrangement, the linguistic politics led to Senegal etc. This work will lean on an analysis of conversations realized with participants wolophones and schooled sérérophones or not and of data collected on Facebook and on discussion forums. This approach will allow to approach the manners the participants of which resort to both national languages in touch with French in the conversations and in the electronic papersKey words: sociolinguistics, multilingualism, New technologies of information and the communication, Codeswitching, Wolof language, serere language, valorization

Testo completoThis research started from the following question. Why is sign language still perceived as an obstacle to integration of the deaf in French society, especially when it recognized as its own language, when a number of unimpaired people learn it, when it is present in the media and when interpreters are trained? By deconstructing the notions of integration and of language, we show, in an observation of daily language habits of the deaf and the unimpaired who surround them, that communication modes do not only affect interactions but also our sense of belonging: to a country with the language one speaks, to a region with the accent that one has, to a social class with the vocabulary one uses. In effect, language is often perceived as that which binds people together, defines a specific group, creates an identity. The deaf who practices sign language are categorized as a different and hermetic group than those who speak the French language, like individuals posing a problem of integration. Nevertheless, after a several years of immersion in the deaf population, it appears that in reality, any individual identity and language practice is plural. This plurality doesn't mean necessarily an identity rupture

Testo completoPremarital sexuality in Morocco faces a triple illegitimacy (religious, legal and social). However, despite being forbidden by norms, it exists in Morocco. This study attempts to decode the ways of thought, living and verbalization of premarital sexuality in the country despite the restrictive normative framework. It aims to analyze it in its different aspects: representations, social and media discourse, verbalization, the normative framework, the socialized money making observed outside the traditional professionalization of sex framework, new trends linkedto technological changes and their impact on sexuality, sex education, the significance and impact of the first sexual intercourse, the influence of demographic and socio-economic dynamics on sexuality and finally sexual and emotional gender relations. Its main objective is to shed light on social realities that discourse and normative representations are trying to play down. The goal is not to legitimize socially rejected sexual practices, but to understand them

Testo completoThis study aims at analysing the representations and ordinary use of school librarians and students in the documentation space known as “Centre de Documentation et d’Information” (CDI) in French secondary schools. The school library is understood as a documentary space both in a physical and digital way. Its use is academic, information-related, but also social. Use and representations are studied spatially. In this dimension, the actors are seen as individuals with a spatial ability of their own, who experience the documentation space : indeed, beyond sheer visual aspects, we look into the dynamics of the space as it is said to be experienced. The methodology used is qualitative. Semi-directed interviews are carried out with school librarians and students in five middle schools. Participative photo elicitation interviews allow us to show the different visions of the documentary space that the various actors may have. The analysis of the results shows different kinds of documentation landscapes, created by both professionals and students in their everyday use

Testo completoThis thesis focuses on the business corporation in France between its formal appearance in the law in the Commercial Code of 1807 and the Act of July 1867 that removes any government authorization previously requested for the creation of such company. The société anonyme has often been described as the necessary support of modern industrial capitalism, particularly in that it would have allowed significant concentration of capital. By observing closely the practices of different actors, this thesis aims to revise this representation, seeking to replace the public company in the political economy of the first half of the nineteenth century. This approach includes a research on the origins of the société anonyme – which we do not consider as a product of capitalist modernity – and a reassessment of the role of the state, which is one of the main users of this business form and whose intervention is necessary for the viability of such an institution. At a more general level, this thesis aims at questioning the interaction between law and economy, highlighting a process of construction and legal learning based on an ongoing dialogue between the existing law, the uses that are made of it and the State’s actions

Testo completoLinguistic habits in the north of Ille et Vilaine reveal mixtures between the local " langue d'Oïl " called gallo and french. The typological closeness of the two linguistic styles often leads the speakers to be unaware that they are switching or mixing from on code to the other. The sociolinguistic and communicational parameters sometimes hinder the use of regional phrases or sentences, but the speakers and in particular children at school, regularly produce a stigmatized in-between language. The main impact of the language représentations correlates with diglossia and vice versa. This diglossia has significantly weakened the speakers' self confidence and created linguistic insecurity. Schools have had a major role in this negative phenomenon, hence, as it is proposed here, the didactic methods should be adapted and based on French as Foreign Language, in order to consider the schoolchildren's first language. A pedagogy which helps the learners to be aware of these linguistic interferences is developed here, in order for them to be able to acquire and manage to use the required Standard French of the Department of Education

Testo completoConditions of access to language among children in diglossia context are very interesting when taking in consideration cultural and linguistic diversities. My reflection is about language practices in nurseries and pre elementary schools of Martinique. I am interested by noticing modalities about daily interactions in those areas, particularly by intentional distortions we can find in adult and child exchanges. I proceed by observing child and adult interactions in usual conditions of their exchanges. This observation is a natural one and belongs to human ethologic area (H. Montagner). Using a typology of language acts (Searle, Vanderveken) we can class collected data in five kinds of acts that represent observed exchanges. Taking in consideration diversity from collected distortions is in my opinion a prerequisite to dynamic of a necessary reciprocal comprehension for maturation of language and learning behaviors among small children in Martinique

Testo completoThis research is aimed at the emerging field of social and pedagogic interventions that can assist international students while studying abroad. Through the analysis of data gathered in “participactive” observation of “Autour du Monde”, the international students association in Nantes, and through multiple discussions and interviews of various co-actors of student mobility in France and in Nantes, we investigate how an associative involvement can overcome the institutional deficits in socialization and active participation of international students in the local society. This study also shows that voluntary commitment during periods abroad can be a learning experience for students, and highlights that communicative language as well as general competences (sociocultural and intercultural empirical skills and knowledge, in addition to soft skills and transverse collective skills generated in voluntary associations) can be developed from this commitment. Our goal is to identify and extend the action-knowledge generated by the students as well as to find possible links between the experiential informal learning within an associative environment and the creation of dedicated university training courses

Testo completoInternet and social digital networks (SDN) are, for the Breton language, a recent setting for social practices inwhich forms of recontextualization of a minority language in a post‐diglossic situation occur. The purpose ofthis thesis is to describe the transformations using a dialogical model of identity development. Such model focuses on a three‐dimensional analysis that encompassing the institutionalization forms of a language in a society, social representations of a language and social practices resulting in expressions of belonging. This dialogical process model, whose design is grounded in scholar works in the social history field, is first instantiated from a sociolinguistic perspective to describe SDN glottopolitical intervention characteristics in the post‐diglossia context. This conceptual model is then applied to in analysis of extended forms of sociability enabled, facilitated and structured by SDN both in a media and public communication context. Finally, the model allows the juxtaposition of the sociopolitical analysis of the Breton claim and the sociopolitical theory of public space on the three dimensions on which SDN have an effect: construction of social problems such as institutionalization, symbolic construction of territorial identity and citizenship as a social practice and way ofbelonging. Liberal glottopolitical interventions developed around SDN create forms institution of language based on both the market force and the autonomy capacity of social actors to build a regional territory

Testo completoThis doctoral research, carried out in two campi nomadi (Rome, Italy) is underpinned by a sociolinguistic approach that aims to analyse the plurality and heterogeneity of language practices observed among Roma inhabitants. Grasping the complexity and diversity of these practices requires an undertanding of the social space where they take place. The campo, as an anthropological living place and fieldwork will therefore be understood taking into account the human relations that emerge and the places that the Other is assigned or those one grants oneself. The objective is to proceed by "fragmentation" (Lorcerie, 2009), focusing on representations and individual discourses to account for the heterogeneity of practices. This also involves a process of deconstruction and comprehension of the mechanisms of ethnicization and identity, and of social and linguistic assignment that contribute to the development of categorizations of Roma groups. This research therefore starts from a specific social space, from an Italian "specialismo" (Tosi, 2007) so as to provide an analysis of the fragmented sociolinguistic practices of its inhabitants and to expound the "plural experience of their speech" (Canut, 2007)
