computacionais vêm criando ambientes de computação cada
vez mais completos e sofisticados, mas que ainda carecem
de softwares de integração que simplifiquem sua
utilização
e que melhor explorarem seu potencial. Para responder a
esta questão, sistemas de computação ubíqua vêm sendo
desenvolvidos para criar mecanismos de controle remoto e
unificado de aplicações e dispositivos. Além disso,
grupos
de pesquisa na área de multimídia abordam outras
questões
como a sincronização entre dispositivos, gerência de
recursos e definição de padrões de documentos. Este
trabalho visa unificar os esforços de ambas as áreas com
o
objetivo de realizar apresentações multimídia através do
paradigma de computação ubíqua. Neste trabalho,
apresentamos a infraestrutura de execução de
apresentações
ActivePresentation desenvolvida e baseada em diferentes
protótipos. Além disso, propomos um formato de documento
multimídia chamado NCLua para orquestrar tais
apresentações.<br>The diminishing costs and the diversity of computational
devices are creating
increasingly complex and sophisticated computational
environments.
Nonetheless, such environments still lack integration
software to simplify
their use and to better explore their potential. In
response to this issue,
ubiquitous computing systems are being developed to create
remote control
mechanisms of applications and devices. At the same time,
research groups
in the area of multimedia deal with other issues, such as
synchronization
between devices, resource management and document standard
definitions.
The purpose of this work is to join the efforts of both
areas in order to
build presentations using the ubiquitous computing
paradigm. In this work,
we introduce the ActivePresentation infrastructure, based
and developed
through the study of different prototypes. In addition, we
propose a multimedia
document format called NCLua to orchestrate such
presentations.

<p>Det finns många Människa – Maskin system där utvecklare gör avkall på en del funktionalitet för att inte riskera att systemets användare överbelamras med information. En användare kan till exempel få så mycket information presenterad via synsinnet att synsinnet inte hinner med, eller information som presenteras via flera sinnen och är motsägelsefull och därför medför att hjärnan gör felaktiga tolkningar av systemets tillstånd. Sinnesöverbelastning och kognitiv överbelastning medför att användaren riskerar att inte längre kunna utföra sina uppgifter tillräckligt snabbt, tillräkligt säkert eller överhuvudtaget.</p><p>Taktil presentation är presentation som använder känselsinnet. Genom att använda taktil presentation kan man avlasta övriga informationskanaler såsom synsinnet och hörselsinnet. Dessutom är det visat att även om en människa inte klarar av att ta in mer information via ett sinne kan det totala informationsintaget ökas genom att använda flera sinnen.</p><p>I det här examensarbetet har två demonstratorer utvecklats till Saab Aerosystems AB för att illustera hur man kan använda taktil information för att avlasta övriga sinnen och för att öka en användares situationsmedvetenhet och därmed öka prestationen.</p>

The master thesis project - Personal video: An Intelligent Presentation System (IPS) - was conducted at the Department of Communication Systems, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden. The focus of this thesis is designing, building, and evaluating an intelligent environment for giving presentations which makes all the technologies of the existing devices invisible to the presenter, i.e., to remove difficulties of configuration, compatibility, etc. from hindering the user from being able to give their presentation. IPS is an application in a hot research field - Ambient Intelligence (AmI) which is influenced by user – centered design. Therefore, the goal of IPS is to improve the user’s experience. As compared to a traditional presentation system, IPS integrating several independent applications hence improving the user’s efficiency and offering greater user friendliness. In this thesis, a prototype of IPS was designed which combines an online presentation room booking system (running on a context server), a CGI presentation control module (running on a presentation server), and a cross platform control panel (which could be running on a PC, laptop, PDA, cellular phone, etc.). This prototype realized our goals of providing an intelligent and comfortable environment for both the presenters and the system a dministrators.

Systemövervakning har blivit en stor del av företags IT-strukturer eftersom företag förlitar sig mer och mer på en välfungerande och högt presterande IT- struktur. När det sker problem i företags IT-strukturer så krävs det att de löses under relativt kort tid. För att hitta problemet så krävs det en mängd olika system som skall underlätta arbetet för människor som arbetar med systemövervakning och underhåll av IT-strukturer. För att tolka och bearbeta all den information som en IT-struktur tillhandahåller så krävs det system vars uppgift är att hjälpa människor att tolka den enorma mängd data en IT-struktur genererar. Denna rapport ger en beskrivning över hur arbetet för en systemadministratör kan förenklas med hjälp av ett integrerat övervakningssystem. Stora delar av rapporten kommer fokusera på vilken metod och protokoll som kan användas för att hämta information från olika övervakningssystem och även förslag på hur informationen kan presenteras för användaren.

The purpose of this thesis is to seek answers to the questions how the sales in a photo shop can be affected by animated commercial presentations and what the costs of producing such presentations would be. The costs are calculated from three different scenarios. The presentations produced has been for one single camera model and for selected products within three product groups; binoculars, digital cameras and printed matters. The task has included image processing of self-shot and existing photos, as well as arranging and animating the photos together with texts and three-dimensional models of selected products. The content and proceedings for each product group is presented separately together with problems occurred during the production. Eventually, the result chapter presents the sales statistics and calculated costs.<br>Detta examensarbetes syfte har varit att söka svar på frågorna om huruvida försäljningen i en fotobutik kan påverkas av rörliga reklampresentationer samt hur stor kostnaden skulle bli om arbetet utförts utanför universitetet. Kostnaderna har sedan beräknats utifrån tre olika tänkbara scenarion. Presentationerna som producerats har varit för en enskild kameramodell samt för utvalda produkter inom produktgrupperna kikare, kameror samt trycksaker. Arbetet har omfattat dels bildbehandling av egna och befintliga foton, dels disponering och animering av dessa foton tillsammans med textblock och animationer av tredimensionella modeller av vissa av produkterna. För varje produktgrupp redovisas innehåll och tillvägagångssätt tillsammans med problem som uppstått under produktionens gång. I resultatdelen redovisas sedan förändringen i försäljningen samt de beräknade kostnaderna med utgång från åtgången tid för respektive presentation.

Tolkningen av EKG är en viktig metod vid diagnostisering av onormala hjärttillstånd och kan användas i förebyggande syfte att upptäcka tidigare okända hjärtproblem. Att enkelt kunna mäta sitt EKG och få det analyserat och presenterat på ett pedagogiskt sätt utan att behöva rådfråga en läkare är något det finns ett konsumentbehov av. Denna rapport beskriver hur en EKG-signal behandlas med olika algoritmer och metoder i syfte att detektera hjärtslag och dess olika parametrar. Denna information används till att klassificera varje hjärtslag för sig och därmed avgöra om användaren har en normal eller onormal hjärtfunktion. För att nå dit har en mjukvaruprototyp utvecklats där algoritmerna implementerats. En enkätundersökning gjordes i syfte att undersöka hur utdata från mjukvaruprototypen skulle presenteras för en vanlig användare utan medicinsk utbildning. Sju filer med EKG-signaler från MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database användes för testning av mjukvaruprototypen. Resultatet visade att prototypen kunde detektera en rad olika hjärtfel som låg till grund vid fastställning om hjärtat slog normalt eller onormalt. Resultatet presenterades på en mobilapp baserad på enkätundersökningen.<br>The interpretation of the ECG is an important method in the diagnosis of abnormal heart conditions and can be used proactively to discover previ-ously unknown heart problems. Being able to easily measure the ECG and get it analyzed and presented in a clear manner without having to consult a doctor is improtant to satisfy consumer needs. This report describes how an ECG signal is treated with different algo-rithms and methods to detect the heartbeat and its various parameters. This information is used to classify each heartbeat separately and thus determine whether the user has a normal or abnormal cardiac function. To achieve this a software prototype was developed in which the algorithms were implemented. A questionnaire survey was done in order to examine how the output of the software prototype should be presented for a user with no medical training. Seven ECG files from MIT-BIH Arrhythmia database were used for validation of the algorithms. The developed algorithms could detect of if any abnormality of heart function occurred and informed the users to consult a physician. The presentation of the heart function was based on the result from the questioner.

Rapid Seriell Visuell Presentation (RSVP) är ett koncept som har möjligheten att påverka hur en användare konsumerar sin dagliga läsning. Denna metod att läsa skiljer sig från traditionell läsning på så sätt att enbart ett (ibland flera) ord visas i varje bildsekvens i motsats till traditionell läsning då läsaren har full överblick över den statiska texten. Eftersom denna metod att läsa skiljer sig i sådan utsträckning från traditionell läsning så finns det ett behov av att utveckla RSVP till att bli en allt mer intuitiv upplevelse för läsaren. Sex testpersoner intervjuas, varvid resultaten analyseras och utvecklas till en prototyp.<br>Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP) is a concept that changes every day reading into an efficient way of gathering information. Due to this innovative new way of reading, the importance of interaction that allows the user to interact with RSVP in an intuitive manner is needed to help the reader reach its full reading potential. This thesis puts existing RSVP programs to the test with the help of six participants in different ages. Through in-depth interviews with the participants, this thesis presents a possible new way of displaying information and interacting with RSVP. From analysing the results of the in-depth interviews, a prototype is created.

Utställningar kan ses som världens äldsta massmedia. Utställning innebär att man gestaltar en miljö där människor kan träffas och uppleva något med alla sina sinnen. Utställningsmediet kan ta tillvara på hela den moderna medietekniken och är därför väldigt lätt att utforma efter egna tankar och idéer. I detta examensarbete har utställningsmediet använts som en del i marknadsföringen av Pite Havsbad men också för att fira havsbadets sjuttioårs jubileum som äger rum i år, 2013. Utställningen består av två delar, dels en digital presentation men även en traditionell del. Rapporten avslutas med slutsatser samt rekommendationer för framtida utställare.

Denna rapport beskriver ett projekt med målet att utveckla ett elektroniskt skyttesystem utifrån mindre kostsamma standardkomponenter. Det utvecklade systemet avses inneha funktionalitet som är jämförbar med befintliga sådana system. En utredning av det utvecklade systemets precision ämnas utföras, och om precisionen visar sig vara undermålig behöver en utredning ge förslag på ytterligare hårdvara som krävs för att nå en högre sådan. Projektet resulterade i ett delvis sammankopplat, fungerande system. Systemet består av fysiska komponenter, en databas och en visningsklientsapplikation som bearbetar och presenterar data. Systemets fysiska komponenter innefattar fyra mikrofoner och en Raspberry Pi 2-enhet. Mikrofonerna registrerar ljudankomster och signalerar dessa till Raspberry-enheten, som sparar data i databasen. Denna data hämtas, bearbetas och visualiseras av visningsklienten.Systemet saknar i nuläget en fysisk träffyta, och precisionsbrister hos dess fysiska komponenter resulterar i opålitliga resultat, då mätvärden är okonsekventa utifrån upprepade träffar på en specifik position.<br>This report describes a project with the goal of developing an electronic scoring system from less costly standard components. The developed system means to have comparable functionality to existing such systems. An analysis of the developed system's precision is intended to be performed, and if the precision is found to be substandard an investigation needs suggest further hardware necessary for reaching a higher one.The project resulted in a partially connected, functioning system. The system consists of physical components, a database and a visual client application that processes and presents data. The system's physical components comprise four microphones and a Raspberry Pi 2 unit. The microphones register sound arrivals and signal these to the Raspberry unit, which saves data in the database. This data is retrieved, processed and presented by the visual client.The system currently lacks a physical target surface, and precision flaws in the system's physical components result in unreliable results, since readings are inconsistent from repeated hits at a specific position.

Uppsatsens syfte är att konstruera riktlinjer för en användarprofilering som motiverar till fysiskt träningsutövande, samt uppmuntra användarprofiler till att förmedla sanningsenlig träningsresultatet inom ett digitalt socialt nätverk inriktat på fysisk träning. Studien undersöker även utövares inställning till att dela med sig av sina träningsresultat. Målet är att ta fram specifika, konkreta och praktiska faktorer som skall kunna appliceras i verkliga digitala nätverk. En kvalitativ studie genomfördes genom intervjuer och observationer av en testgrupp på åtta personer med varierande träningskunskaper och bakgrund. Studien resulterade i två olika kategorier a) motivation till dokumentationstjänst i digitalt nätverk och b) användarprofilering. Resultatet visar att det intressanta i ett sådant nätverk är träningsresultatet och utvecklingskurvan. Nätverkets medlemmar är både sändare och mottagare och för att få tillgång till andra personers resultat måste man vara beredd på att visa sina egna resultat. Samtliga testpersoner tycks vara villiga till att dela med sig av sina resultat i större eller mindre utsträckning. Att dela med sig träningsresultat är en sekundär prioritering, det väsentliga är det personliga dokumenterandet av träningsresultatet. För att nätverket skall fungera i längden bör en profil dessutom vara sanningsenlig och tillförlitlig, ha kommentarer som kan hjälpa andra att bestämma träningsövningar och hjälpa en själv att ha kontroll på träningspassen samt möjlighet till normerade resultat som gör det mindre personligt och jämförbart med andra utövare.<br>This study examines digital motivation and user profiling to construct a set of guidelines that motivates users to engage in physical exercise, in a way that also encourage them to share workout documentation, training results and give recommendations in a digital network. It also examines people's thoughts at sharing the personal training results to others. This investigation is done in relation to an assignment where the client is involved in the development of an upcoming service which offers online documentation of physical workouts, mainly towards CrossFit. The qualitative study involved a test group of eight people with varied training knowledge and background. The study resulted in two different categories: a) motivation for documentation services in a digital network, and b) user profiling in a digital network within a training context. The conclusion shows that the significant part of this service is the individuals exercise result, visualized by a development curve in a way that makes it possible to compare your progress to others. Members of the network are both transmitter and receiver, meaning that in order to gain access to other people's results, one must be prepared to show its own results. All participants were willing to share their results to some extent. For the network to operate in the long run, user profiles must be truthful and reliable. Being able to make comments may be helpful to determine the exercise efficiency and suitability for oneself, but also for viewers seeking inspiration and suggestions on exercises. A normalized presentation of results is suggested, making the results less personal and comparable with other practitioners.

I forskningen behandlas valet av teknik för mobil presentation. Uppsatsen lyfter fram faktorer, vilket behöver diskuteras i samband med ett val. De olika teknikerna som diskuteras i uppsatsen är främst responsiv design, webbaserad applikation och nativ applikation. I samband med ett intresse ifrån SLU (Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet) används organisationen som exempel i uppsatsen, vilket är tänkt att ge ett förslag på hur informationen i uppsatsen skulle kunna relateras till en verklig situation. Arbetet är byggt på en stor samling av tidigare studier, detta för att stärka den information som presenteras i uppsatsen. Intervjuer med anställda på SLUs IT-avdelning har bidragit med en rik insikt i hur verkligheten skulle kunna se ut inom en organisation som denna. Studien bidrar med att lyfta fram faktorer, vilka är viktiga för valet av teknik och hur detta val skulle kunna diskuteras. Detta användes för att ge en rekommendation till SLU, vilket är ett exempel på hur denna uppsats resultat kan användas.

Ontology design patterns are used for creating quality modeling solutions for ontologies. The presentation of ontology design patterns is concerned with reusability of ontologies from a user perspective. The purpose of this research is to identify improvement areas in the presentation of content ontology design patterns. The objective is to analyze different content ontology design patterns and provide suggestions for possible changes in current templates and pattern presentation. The ontology design pattern templates were compared with existing templates of other patterns to identify improvement areas. After this, two surveys were conducted with novice users and expert ontology engineers to improve the readability and usability of content ontology design patterns from the user perspective and to discover differences in opinion while using the patterns. Based on the findings of comparison and survey results, we proposed suggestions to improve the current template and presentation of content ontology design patterns.

Instruktioner har syftet att förmedla ett arbetssätt eller utförande av en uppgift som användaren sen tidigare inte är bekant med. För att instruktionen ska vara framgångsrik krävs dock att den utformas på ett sätt som gör den enkel att använda och att tolka korrekt. Större efterfrågan på kundanpassning och krav på flexibilitet gör att tillverkande företag i allt större omfattning behöver effektiva metoder för att ta fram instruktioner. På uppdrag av PartnerTech i Åtvidaberg genomfördes under vårterminen 2014 ett examensarbete inriktat mot att underlätta framtagning och revision av instruktioner. Vilka presentationsformer som bäst stödjer användaren var också del av det huvudsakliga målet. Utöver det önskades även en metod för att kategorisera produkter efter monteringskomplexitet, vilket skulle underlätta fördelning av personal. PartnerTech är en kontraktstillverkare som ständigt ställs inför nya produkter och produktionsscenarion, vilket medför löpande behov av nya instruktioner. Bakgrunden till initiativet för projektet ligger i att den nuvarande metoden inte upplevs som tillräckligt effektiv och att kunskap från vetenskapliga studier saknas. Examensarbetet har utförts av en student vid det maskintekniska programmet på Linköpings tekniska högskola. Projektet inleddes med en studie av nuläget och forskningsresultaten inom de berörda områdena. Därefter utvärderades mjukvaran SolidWorks Composer för att se vilka fördelar den skulle kunna bidra till, jämfört med det nuvarande arbetssättet. Ett förslag till en layout för en alternativ form av instruktion utarbetades utifrån fynden under litteraturstudien, vilken senare testades på verkliga produkter. Parallellt utvecklades en metod för att kategorisera produkterna som produceras i Åtvidaberg. Projektet resulterade i en alternativ layout för instruktionerna och ett förslag till ny presentationsmetod. Som framtagningsverktyg föreslås Microsoft Powerpoint, vilket använts under projektet och visat på flera fördelar mot nuvarande program. Istället för att som idag använda utskrivna papperskopior av instruktionerna föreslås presentation via bildskärmar i form av ett bildspel. Utvärderingen av SolidWorks Composer visade att det finns potential för att effektivisera framtagningen av bilder för instruktionerna, förutsatt att ett antal kriterier uppfylls. Metoden för kategorisering av produkterna resulterade i en checklista, baserad i huvudsak på ja/nej-frågor.<br>The purpose of instructions is to pass a strategy or method for work on to a previously unexperienced person. For an instruction to be successful it must be designed in a manner that allows easy use and correct interpretation. The increasing demand for customer customization and flexibility leads to an ever increasing need for manufacturing companies to create and utilize instructions in an effective way. On the behalf of PartnerTech in Åtvidaberg, a project was conducted as a master thesis during the spring semester of 2014, with the target of facilitating the creation and revision of instructions. How information should be presented to best support the user was also a main objective of the project. Beside this, a method for categorizing the company’s products was requested, to facilitate the allocation of personnel at the assembly lines. PartnerTech as a contract manufacturer is continuously challenged with new products at various development stages. As a consequence, instructions needs to be created regularly. The initiative for the project originates from the dissatisfaction related to the current method. The master thesis has been conducted by a student at the mechanical engineering program at Linköping University. The initial part of the project involved a study of the current method and the company’s needs, as well as research within the concerned areas. Later the software SolidWorks Composer was evaluated to see which possible benefits it could hold. A proposal for a new layout of the instructions was developed, based on the found literature during the research. Instructions was established using the layout and principles, which then was tested on real products. Parallel to this a method for categorizing the products was developed. The project resulted in an alternative layout for instructions and a proposal for a new presentation method. The tool proposed for creating and maintaining the instructions is Microsoft PowerPoint, which was used during the project and showed several benefits compared to the current software. The evaluation of SolidWorks Composer showed that there is potential for more effective creation of images for instructions, given that some criteria is fulfilled. The method for categorizing products resulted in a checklist, based essentially on yes/no-questions.

Elite self-presentation through the biographical genre is a defining element of ancient Egyptian high culture from the Old Kingdom until the Roman period. My thesis centres on the biographical texts produced during the Ramessid period (c. 1280-1070 BCE), a time of significant change in elite domains of representation. Since biography has not been seen as a significant genre of this period, these texts, which are inscribed on statues, stelae, temple walls, and in tombs, have not been gathered together or studied as a corpus. Yet they are a key to exploring the diverse and highly individual ways in which a self could be fashioned and presented. I take a holistic approach to the interpretation of these texts, in order to examine the ways in which they were incorporated into their spatial and visual settings and could extend beyond them. My introduction sets out my aims and the broader anthropological framework which I apply to the Egyptian sources. The following four chapters are case-studies. Chapters two to four are organised according to site (Thebes and el-Mashayikh, Karnak, and Abydos), comparing strategies of self-presentation in tomb and temple contexts. The fourth is thematically oriented, and looks at the image and role of the king in non-royal biographies. In the final chapter, I draw together the results of my individual case-studies, discussing their common textual themes, the interplays of traditional and innovative motifs within them, as well as the implications of their diverse monumental contexts. I hope to demonstrate that the holistic approach I apply is relevant for the study of monumental discourse in other periods in Egyptian history and has the potential to locate the Egyptian material within broader frameworks for the study of premodern societies.

This thesis describes studies on the binding of peptides to the murine major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecule H-2D<sup>b</sup> (D<sup>b</sup>). The expression of the recombinant soluble D<sup>b</sup> molecule in Chinese hamster ovary cells and its subsequent purification by nickel affinity chromatography, gel filtration, and preparative native isoelectric focusing are reported. The product is the correct molecule, homogeneous, a dimer of dimers, and free of endogenous peptide. A novel binding assay based on the enhancement of natural tryptophan fluorescence by the binding of peptide is introduced. This assay is used to determine melting curves of the empty and peptide-loaded protein, and to measure association rate constants by stopped-flow fluorescence spectroscopy. Radioligand binding measurements of equilibrium as well as association and dissociation rate constants and their temperature dependence are reported. In agreement with earlier observations, the ratio of association and dissociation rate constants is much larger than the equilibrium association constant. Fluorescence anisotropy decay spectroscopy gives evidence for conformational alterations in the D<sup>b</sup> molecule upon peptide binding. The data, possible errors and ways to avoid them, and mathematical models of binding are discussed to obtain an overall picture of the binding process.

I dagens samhälle finns många företag som hanterar stora mängder information varje dag. Dessa företag har svårt att manuellt överblicka all information. Den stora mängden data kräver automatiserade processer för att utvinna intressanta mönster som människor sedan kan tolka och använda som underlag för vidare analys. En sådan process är klusteranalys vars syfte är att dela upp datamängden i olika segment för att kunna få en djupare förståelse för hur olika faktorer påverkar. Det ställs höga krav på att presentationen kan förmedla informationen på ett effektivt och enkelt sätt ifall de ska kunna användas av människor som, inte själva kommer i kontakt med arbetet med utan, bara använder resultaten som ett underlag i sin yrkesroll. Det är klusteranalysens stora styrka är då det kombinerar modern beräkningskraft med en presentation som med hjälp av varierande färg, form och storlek bidrar till att det blir enklare att urskilja resultatet med det mänskliga ögat.Huvudfrågan “Hur kan ett dataintensivt företag använda sig av klusteranalys som verktyg för att presentera data?” besvaras genom två delfrågor:● Hur kan klustring av göras inom transportsektorn?● Hur kan klustringsresultat presenteras för att underlätta för dem som skall använda resultaten?Studien bedrivs med en kvalitativ ansats och den övergripande forskningsstrategin var en kvalitativ kartläggning som följdes av en komparativ analys av teorin och empirin. De framtagna presentationsteknikerna användes som underlag i halv strukturerade intervjuer som sedan analyserades utifrån teorin för att leda fram till slutsatsen.Studiens slutsatser är att K-means kan användas som klusteringsalgoritm. Antalet naturliga kluster kan uppskattas med knäböjsmetoden och normalisering kan göras med Z-score.Klustringsresultat inom dataintensiva företag presenteras bäst genom parallella koordinater eller spridningsdiagram beroende på om syftet är att presentera läget eller ta fram beslutsunderlag.Studiens bidrag och konsekvens är att dataintensiva företag kan använda de slutsatser som dragits i denna studie som riktlinjer för hur de skall komma igång med klusteranalys. The aim of my project was to examine the extent to which endogenous expression of a largely renal-specific antigen influences the repertoire in adulthood of autoreactive T cells specific to that antigen. The renal-specific antigen, human α3(IV)NC1, is the target of autoimmune attack in Goodpasture’s disease. This protein was expressed and purified in recombinant (using bacterial and mammalian cell expression systems) and purified in native (extracted from human tissue) forms. Transgenic mice were generated that express HLA-DR15 (associated with Goodpasture’s disease) as their sole MHC class II molecule, and for which α3(IV)NC1 can be endogenous or exogenous. The CD4 T cell responses of these mice were then tested following immunisation with α3(IV)NC1. In mice with endogenous expression of α3(IV)NC1 there were no consistent detectable proliferative T cell responses to any α3(IV)NC1 peptides in a set of overlapping peptides representative of the entire sequence. In the mice lacking endogenous α3(IV)NC1 there were consistent responses to the peptide α3(IV)NC1 136-150. This contains part of the peptide recognised by the most abundant autoreactive T cells in patients with acute Goodpasture’s disease. Therefore, the T cell responses seen in man to an endogenous (auto)antigen have similar fine specificity to those seen in mice responding to the same protein as a foreign antigen. This is surprising as one might expect self-tolerance in man to be most secure to such dominantly presented and immunogenic (in HLA DR15 mice) self peptides. However, recent work suggests that the peptide most commonly presented in humans is normally destroyed during antigen processing, giving a possible explanation for the lack of tolerance. Future work should study why tolerance is ineffective to this particular peptide, whether tolerance can be reinforced, these questions could be addressed using a transgenic mouse model that develops Goodpasture-like pathology. In addition, how processing is defective in Goodpasture’s disease could be explored by making antigen presenting hybridomas from patient samples or from the transgenic mouse line described within this thesis.

Using presentation software such as PowerPoint or Keynote to sup- port lectures and presentations has become ubiquitous in both academia and industry. However, designing the visuals of presentation slides is a time-consuming and laborious task; repetitive steps are required for selecting templates, organizing objects, and optimizing layouts. To al- leviate these laborious works and to allow users to focus on preparing the contents of presentations, we present SmartPPT, a framework that supports the automatic generation of presentation slides from textual outline. We built a Recommender System model inside the framework that could pick up slide templates for input textual outline. To test its functionality and efficiency, two sets of user study procedures were conducted and shown that SmartPPT is time efficient in generating slides and it outperforms in user satisfaction when compared to user- handcrafted slides and the baseline condition, which was PowerPoint suggested templates.<br>Att använda presentationsprogram som PowerPoint eller Keynote för att stödja föreläsningar och presentationer har blivit allestädes närvarande både i akademin och industrin. Att utforma visuella bilder av presentationsmaterial är emellertid en tidskrävande och mödosam uppgift; upprepade steg krävs för att välja mallar, organisera objekt och optimera layouter. För att underlätta dessa mödosamma arbeten och låta användarna fokusera på att förbereda innehållet i presentationer presenterar vi SmartPPT, ett ramverk som stöder den automatiska generationen av presentationsbilder från en textvy. Vi byggde en Recommender System-modell inuti ramen som kunde plocka upp bildmallar för inmatning av textrutor. För att testa dess funktionalitet och effektivitet genomfördes två uppsättningar av användarstudieprocedurer och visade att SmartPPT är tidseffektivt för att generera bilder och användarna blev nöjdare jämfört med när man gjort handgjorda bilder eller använt PowerPoint-föreslagna mallar.

Goodpasture's, or anti-glomerular basement membrane (anti-GBM), disease is an uncommon, yet usually severe human autoimmune disorder characterised primarily by rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis (RPGN) and lung haemorrhage. The disease results from a sustained autoimmune response in which pathogenic autoantibodies are directed against the Goodpasture antigen [3(IV)NCI], a specific component, of certain basement membranes. Antigen presenting cells (APC) play a leading part in determining an individual's immune responsiveness by controlling how antigens will be displayed to CD4+ T-cells. APC are responsible for the internalisation, processing and presentation of extracellular antigens in association with MHC class II molecules at their surface. Further, the striking association between particular autoimmune diseases and HLA type suggests that HLA determined differences in presentation of self antigens may also influence the susceptibility to autoimmunity. The primary purpose of this project was to examine the Goodpasture antigen derived peptides processed and presented to T-cells by EBV-transformed human B-cells. This was achieved by following a sub-cloning strategy, in which cDNA from [3(IV)NCI], was stably transfected into a suitable cell line. A further batch of cells were maintained in identical conditions as a control. Following affinity purification, successive rounds of HPLC and mass spectrometry were utilised in order to identify putative antigen derived peptides. In addition to this, an immunoassay was developed in order to examine whether different affinity purified HLA-DR molecules (positively/negatively associated with Goodpasture's disease) bound synthetic Goodpasture peptides differently.

Video streaming is becoming a major channel for distance learning (or e-learning). A tremendous number of videos for educational purpose are capturedand archived in various e-learning systems today throughout schools, corporations and over the Internet. However, making information searchable and browsable, and presenting results optimally for a wide range of users and systems, remains a challenge.In this work two core algorithms have been developedto support effective browsing and searching of educational videos. The first is a fully automatic approach that recognizes slides in the videowith high accuracy. Built upon SIFT (scale invariant feature transformation) keypoint matching using RANSAC (random sample consensus), the approach is independent of capture systems and can handle a variety of videos with different styles and plentiful ambiguities. In particular, we propose a multi-phase matching pipeline that incrementally identifies slides from the easy ones to the difficult ones. We achieve further robustness by using the matching confidence as part of a dynamic Hidden Markov model (HMM) that integrates temporal information, taking camera operations into account as well.The second algorithm locates slides in the video. We develop a non-linear optimization method (bundle adjustment) to accurately estimate the projective transformations (homographies) between slides and video frames. Different from estimating homography from a single image, our method solves a set of homographies jointly in a frame sequence that is related to a single slide.These two algorithms open up a series of possibilities for making the video content more searchable, browsable and understandable, thus greatly enriching the user's learning experience. Their usefulness has been demonstrated in the SLIC (Semantically Linking Instructional Content) system, which aims to turnsimple video content into fully interactive learning experience for students and scholars.

Till grund för detta arbete ligger vår förra studie, ”Hur ser musikproducentens roll ut inom svensk populärmusik” och resultatet av den studien har vi i detta arbete omsatt i praktiken. Vi har nu arbetat med ett case, vilket bestod i att producera en sångerska och sammanföra hennes låtar till en homogen produktion för att slutligen presentera denna för två svenska majorskivbolag. Vid presentationen förde vi en diskussion med respektive A & R angående både vår presentation och artistpresentationer i allmänhet. Resultatet av arbetet är dels produkten, vilken är en demonstration av de tre låtar vi producerade samt de tips och reflektioner vi fick vid presentationerna.</p>

The doctoral thesis studied the behaviour of scientists on Internet profiles. The scientific community is founded on communication. The advance of research, the evaluation of research results, the reputation of individual scientists - all rest on constant interaction among the community members. The Internet, as a flexible channel for world-wide communication, has a considerable potential for the scientific community. Besides often discussed consequences for scientific publishing, the Internet also offers new opportunities for self-presentation of scientists. In this thesis, the online presence of scientists was studied with a 'positive lens', concentrating on how the Internet can be used to enhance scientists' individual self-presentation.
The doctoral thesis consists of five essays: an overview and four essays documenting separate research projects. The research was founded on the radical constructivist understanding of reality. It was classified as connected to three areas: research on science communication, research on digital identity, and research on generation of online content. Viewing the existing literature in these areas, three focal points were identified, which informed and guided the formulation of research aims and the implementation of research projects: focus on Internet self-presentation, assumption of strategic importance, and need for a holistic view. The aims of the thesis were (A) to develop a holistic understanding of scientists' Internet presence, (B) to study behavioural patterns on scientists' Internet profiles, and (C) to develop an instrument to support the development and management of scientists' Internet self-presentation. Based on these aims, four research projects were carried out. Each project pursued own research questions or objectives using suitable methods, yet all contributed to the overall aims of the thesis. Thus the thesis presents conceptual, empirical, and applied findings resulting from a multi-method approach and contributing both to research on Internet self-presentation as well as to practice in the management of online presence.

In a high-voltage direct current system (HVDC), a process is continuously recording data (e.g., voltage sampling). To access this data, the operator must frst set triggers, then wait for the transient- fault-recording (TFR) to complete, and fnally open the recorded fle for analysis. A more refned solution is required. It should allow the operator to select, add and watch the measuring points in real-time. Thus, the purpose of this thesis work is to read, process and present the samples continuously, as series in a graphical chart. Programming will be done by using iterative and incremental development. The result of this thesis work has been an executable application with a graphical user interface (GUI), able to showing the content in the buffers as a graph in a chart.

Studien har genomförts med tanke på att, i dagsläget, finns det en del viktig information som inte visualiseras och rapporteras inom företagen i tid och på ett bra sätt. Denna situation bidrar till att olika mätningar som genomförs inom företaget grundas på felaktiga informationer som inte är baserade på tidsaktuella och kvalitativa data, och inte baserad på analys av de verkliga aktiviteterna som sker på verksamhetsgolvet. I samband med användningen av Internet och introduktion av konceptet e-underhåll inom industrin, har operatörens roll ändrat från att vara passiv till att bli en aktiv aktör. Den här studien baserar på artiklar och böcker som först och främst handlar om IT, informationsteknologi och e-underhåll, men också på en fallstudie där observationer och intervjuer gjordes på plats på företaget CC Pack i Tibro. Studien har efter analys av det sätt på vilket informationen överförs idag inom företaget, kommit till ett nytt sätt att överföra och rapportera informationen mellan operatörerna, underhållspersonalen och produktionschefen. Detta betyder att informationen, med hjälp av det nya digitala formuläret som kommer att finnas i handdatorer, kommer att rapporteras i realtid när felen inträffar på maskinen. Detta kommer vidare att leda till att informationen ska medverka till att bestämma vilken maskin som ska prioriteras vid underhållsarbete. Det nya sättet att visualisera information med hjälp av handdatorer kommer därtill att minska beslutstid inom underhåll. Produktionschefen kommer att få in i systemet alla stopptider från maskiner i produktionen. E-underhåll är ett relativt nytt område som har flera fördelar men som företagen inte har hunnit utnyttja på ett bra sätt eftersom de resurser som finns inte används på ett effektivt sätt.

Detta examensarbete utfördes på Saab AB, Support & Service, i Tannefors, Linköping, samt vid Institutionen för datavetenskap på Linköpings universitet. Ett moment i kvalitetsarbetet för komplexa industriprodukter, som till exempel flygplan, är att skifta från tvådimensionellt konstruktionsunderlag till tredimensionellt. Tredimensionella modeller har funnits i flera år. Nackdelen med dessa modeller är att de inte kunnat bära någon extra information, förutom den information som krävs för att de ska vara uppritade. Tekniken har gått framåt och nu går det att lagra teknikinformation i modellerna samt göra simuleringar som inte gått att göra förut. I och med att teknikinformation finns i modellerna, går det även att använda denna information till de olika publikationer som skrivs. Syftet med denna studie är att analysera hur teknikinformationsflödet mellan modeller och användare kan komma att se ut vid användning av modellbaserat konstruktionsunderlag, samt att föreslå exempel på hur tekniska publikationer för Gripen NG kan komma att se ut i framtiden. När all information finns i modellen, behövs inte lika mycket personal som redigerar bilder eller skriver text. Detta kommer innebära ekonomisk vinst och efter ett tags användning, kommer det även ge en ytterligare ekonomisk vinst, eftersom användarna har lärt sig hur produkten fungerar och på så sätt blivit effektivare på att använda den än de nuvarande dokumenten.<br>This thesis was carried out at Saab AB, Support & Service, in Tannefors, Linköping, and at the Department of Computer Science at Linköping University. One item in the quality work for complex industrial products, such as aircrafts, is to shift from two-dimensional design data to three-dimensional. Three-dimensional models have been around for years. The disadvantage of these models is that they could not carry any extra information, in addition to the information necessary for them to be plotted. The technology has moved on and now it is possible to store technical information in the models and do simulations that didn't work before. As the technical information is contained in the models, you can also use this information to the various publications that are printed. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the technical information flow between models and users, and also to propose examples of how technical publications for the Gripen NG may be in the future when using model-based design documents. Once all information is in the model, it is not needed to have as much staff employed for editing pictures or writing text. This will involve a financial gain, and after some time, it will also provide an additional financial benefit, because the users have learned how the product works and will be more efficient in using it than the current documents.

A self-control procedure that involved a later onset of a stimulus signalling a small reinforcer within the waiting time for a larger reinforcer was investigated to determine a point of shifting preference and a discounting function as the delay varied. The results from Experiment 1 to Experiment 3 showed exclusive impulsive choices regardless of the delay. In order to examine if the results were due to the procedure and the parameters, or the species used, Experiment 4 attempted to obtain shifts in preference using simultaneous onset of stimuli with the same species. The results demonstrated no changes in preference but an increase in proportion of self-control choices was shown. Due to the limited information from the replicated studies, the accounts for the results could not be concluded. The explanations derived from choice models seemed most plausible, but limitations of the choice models were discussed.
