Abstract (sommario):

Abstract I articulate a classical-Marxist theory of technical change in the capitalist labour process, highlighting two contradictions. The management contradiction is the conflict managers experience between coordination (to increase efficiency) and discipline (to ensure valorisation). The workforce contradiction is the tension workers experience between productive socialisation and alienation. I submit that both contradictions were substantially muted from the earliest stages of capitalism through the Fordist stage but have become intensified in the postfordist period. Under postfordism, the basis of efficiency is economies of scope and flexibility, and thus there is a real efficiency advantage to empowering workers, via both multiskilling and employee involvement in problem-solving and decision-making. Postfordist capitalism has thus initiated an intensification of the management and workforce contradictions. In response, capitalist management is increasingly impeding the growth of the productive forces by failing to empower workers.

Abstract (sommario):

The development of skill requirements and VET constitutes a central field of hegemonic struggles under Postfordism. This development is linked to far reaching economic changes and transformations in the labour process, which lead in part to a replacement of taylorist tendencies of deskilling and strict bureaucratic control of labour through a partial reintegration of planning and execution and an alleged rehabilitation of skilled work. The postfordist understanding of skill conceptualizes the capabilities of workers as human capital which constitutes endogenous growth factors. This understanding is accompanied by an expansion, dynarnisation and subjectivation of the socially dominant concept of skills, which leads to new forms of subordination of workers under capital.

Die Kräfteverhältnisse in der Bundesregierung und in der NATO ließen dies nicht zu. Daß sie sich diesen Machtverhältnissen allerdings nicht entgegengestellt, sondern sie selbst mitvollzogen haben, verändert tiefgreifend die politische Konstellation. Abstract Contradictions of Adolescence. Narcissism and Triangulation in Postfordism Based on the actuality of conservative values, aspirations for security and for adjustment and status maintenance among (post-)adolescents, the article examines possible reasons for the failure of educating for more democracy, social competences, and tolerance. It is the latent messages and general conditions of socialization in postfordism, that neutralize or even thwart the pedagogical efforts. To investigate the subjective effect of this hidden curriculum, we recommend making use of the quite unattended hermeneutic adolescence research. For that purpose, the concept of the moratorium is extended by its sociopsychological dimension. Narcissism and Triangulation as developmental psychological concepts proved particularly helpful in this case. Contradictory normative requirements in adolescence socialization attack the already labile narcissistic balance as well as the triangulation of youths.

Basic tendencies of enterprises' innovative development management have been considered from the perspective of postfordist tranformations. It has been determined that mobility is a specificity of postfordist industrial management. Mobility provides dispersion of structural subdivisions all over the world, it doesn't need any governmental support and strict control. Total diversification of the kind allows to implement «high» technologies through global data revolution practically into all spheres of social life. The evolution of social relations types from feudalism up to Post-Fordism has been provided and their specifics defined. Analytical studies carried out have enabled to discover formed world innovative centres and – from global economic perspective – those of half-peripheral countries with low level of innovative development. The directions of China management of innovative development, whose combined innovation level steadily increases, have been described. It has been determined that a great many of world countries is not currently being on the postfordist stage, since an industrial labour is characteristic for them which defines their type as traditional or early industrial pre-modern. We've also found that innovation development governance at the global level through the prism of postfordist transformations manifests itself in looking for niche, strict subordination to global market mechanisms, decentralization under control of transnational corporations; at the national level: in decentration of social space and thinking, marginalization of urban population, migration; at the meso level: in orientation on consumer needs, considerable mobility of production, individualization under global standardization; at the micro level: in project approach, faster time to market, cost minimization. It has been determined that technological breakthrough evokes such social concerns as total control, alienation, job and security loss.

Este artículo presenta una genealogía del discurso académico del marketing con el propósito de comprender los objetivos gubernamentales actuales de esta disciplina en el contexto del Capitalismo Cognitivo, característico del Capitalismo Postfordista. Se utiliza la perspectiva foucaultiana para explorar cómo las prácticas académico-discursivas del marketing influyen en la subjetividad contemporánea, centrándose en la conducción de la conducta de aquellos que operan en el ámbito del marketing, como profesores, estudiantes, trabajadores y emprendedores. La investigación sugiere que estos objetivos deben ser contextualizados dentro de las transformaciones históricas del régimen productivo del Capitalismo Postfordista. Se concluye que el marketing contemporáneo es una tecnología de gobierno cognitivo que se ha ajustado a tres grandes objetivos: personalizar, relacionarse y construir imaginarios.

Es ist ein Gemeinplatz, daß sich der Wohlfahrtsstaat in der Krise befindet. Es stellt sich jedoch die Frage, ob es sich dabei um eine Krise im Wohlfahrtsstaat oder eine Krise des Wohlfahrtsstaates handelt. Im ersten Falle würden Teilreformen und/ oder ein radikaler Umbau ausreichen, um die Funktionsfähigkeit des Wohlfahrtsstaates für die gesellschaftliche Reproduktion wiederherzustellen, ohne seine grundlegenden Organisations- und Interventionsformen zu verändern. Wenn es sich jedoch um eine Krise des Wohlfahrtsstaates handelt, bedarf es eines neuen Systems der sozialen Reproduktion. Um zwischen diesen beiden Alternativen zu entscheiden, müssen die zentralen Bestimmungen von Wohlfahrtsstaaten, die hinter ihnen agierenden politischen Kräfte, ihre Funktionen für die soziale Reproduktion sowie die Ursachen und Formen ihrer Krisen untersucht werden. Dabei sind eine ganze Reihe relevanter Faktoren zu berücksichtigen. Dieser Beitrag beschränkt sich auf drei Themenbereiche: die Formen der sozialen Reproduktion, ihr Bezug zu den langen Wellen der Kapitalakkumulation und ihre gesellschaftliche und politische Basis.

Resumen Este texto se propone explicar el significado de las representaciones del tiempo vinculadas a la ética del trabajo postfordista. Para entender el sentido de estas representaciones se propone un análisis diacrónico. De este modo, el presente artículo se estructura en tres partes. Primeramente se describe la temporalidad de las sociedades preindustriales. En la segunda parte se muestra el proceso a través del cual el trabajo se elevó a la principal de las actividades humanas. Por último, en la tercera parte se analiza el significado de las concepciones del tiempo integradas en la ética del trabajo postfordista. Para la realización de este trabajo se han utilizado fuentes secundarias de carácter histórico y sociológico. En la tercera parte se han utilizado también los textos producidos por los especialistas en managament y por los representantes de las principales instituciones políticas internacionales, que legitiman la actual ética del trabajo.

The article is about the conflct of two approaches connected with relevant reflction of capitalism development. Common thesis about the nonmaterial nature of contemporary capitalism is critiсized. In contrast, it is postulated the thesis about fiancial nature of postfordism which can be described as «nonproductive» activity. It is Marx’s conception of general intellect reflcting in terms of inalienable property in the center of the analysis. Este artículo sostiene que el trabajo es entorno de individuación-transindividuación en la medida en que permite, potencia y despliega la individuación psíquica, siempre en vínculo con otros. Se basa en un estudio cualitativo, que utiliza la narrativa como técnica para describir dos trayectorias laborales de la ciudad de Medellín (Colombia), desde conceptos simondonianos —entre otros, tecnicidad, transducción, interindividual y transindividual, invención, individuo puro, ecumenismo—. Se muestra la pertinencia de mantener vigente el pensamiento del autor en los estudios críticos de las organizaciones y del trabajo, en particular al ahondar en la dimensión transindividual en los fenómenos psicosociales como el trabajo o relación técnica, en sus fases: fordismo y postfordismo.

The aim of this article is to present gated communities in Prague in the context of postmodern urbanization. The article focuses on the spatial distribution of gated communities, their social structure and the causes of emergence of these residential objects. The research is based on various scientific methods. The article shows that there is no statistically demonstrable logic behind the spatial distribution of gated communities in Prague. Particularly socially privileged inhabitants and affluent foreigners live in these residential areas. The emergence of gated communities in Prague is linked with various processes of postmodern urbanism (internationalization of capital and labour, social polarization, fragmentation, neoliberalism or postfordism).

Abstract‘Smart Manufacturing’ refers to a bundle of recent digital innovations together with the political initiatives that promote them. Public and academic debates indicate a fundamental shift in the socio-economic landscape, or a new era of capital accumulation in the language of regulation theory. A closer analysis of literature on Fordism and Postfordism, however, reveals that a ‘smart’ accumulation regime is at the most beginning to emerge, while earlier digitalization has already generated considerable impacts. This literature review first considers earlier contributions on digitalization and space that were published from the early 1980 s to the early 2000 s. It then discusses how this can inspire fresh views on Smart Manufacturing today.

Repressive Entsublimierung stellt für Marcuse ein Schlüsselelement der fordistischen Regierungsform dar: eine institutionalisierte Triebbefreiung, die der gesellschaftlichen Kontrolle dient. In meinem Beitrag entwerfe ich einen neuen Begriff repressiver Entsublimierung, um die postfordistische Regierungsform zu analysieren. Anders als im Fordismus ist dabei nicht die kommodifizierte Freigabe von Objektgenuss im Konsum zentral, sondern die kommodifizierte Freigabe von Selbstgenuss (Selbstverwirklichung, Bewunderung) in der Lohnarbeit.

Partiendo de los análisis (post)operaistas, proponemos explicar la transición de los dispositivos disciplinarios a los dispositivos de la sociedad de control, como el in- tento de capturar el exceso de subjetividad y la multiplicación de formas de vida que constituyen el modo inmanente de la producción de riqueza en la economía post- fordista. El capitalismo postfordista no es tanto una estructura de explotación que se pueda comprender, exclusivamente, con relación al concepto de plusvalía, sino un dispositivo de captura y apropiación de esa producción.

Loin de se limiter à l’évangile de l’éco-efficience de l’urbanisme durable, l’écologie politique de la ville vise à favoriser la relocalisation économique, le développement communautaire et la démocratie participative à travers la promotion de la « sphère autonome ». Néanmoins, l’extension de cette sphère nécessite du temps, actuellement contraint par la logique économique du régime postfordiste. Une défense du revenu suffisant garanti sera présentée à partir de la perspective de l’écologie politique et la pensée d’André Gorz, afin de montrer comment la libération du temps permet de multiplier les activités autonomes au sein de l’espace urbain.

In contrast to past practices of building cities against nature, today, nature is being reinserted into the urbanization process in new, although often contradictory ways. Reinsertion of nature in postfordist cities does not mean that the Fordist city was 'unnatural' or that cities after Fordism are more 'ecologically sustainable'. Rather, it signals an important transformation in the forms of urban growth. Some of the major aspects of cities' natures at the end of the millennium are shown, using current trends and events in the Toronto urban region.

En este artículo revisamos la crítica postoperaista a la teoría de la acción comunicativa de Jürgen Habermas a la luz de los problemas políticos abiertos por el régimen de producción postfordista. Atenderemos a la lectura postoperaista y habermasiana de los Grundrisse de Marx, prestando especial atención al concepto de trabajo vivo; analizaremos en qué medida el potencial hermenéutico de la acción comunicativa queda anulado por el desplazamiento del problema del nivel ontológico al ético; y argumentaremos que la dualidad entre trabajo material y trabajo inmaterial presentada por el postoperaismo no reproduce el dualismo habermasiano entre acción comunicativa y acción instrumental.
