Abstract (sommario):

The author attempts to reconstruct a short history of modern Polish literary studies not from the perspective of schools or methodological orientations that are usually applied, but from the perspective of what is known in sociology as cultural themes. This point of view offers the opportunity to (re)construct the process of continuity /discontinuity in the whole field of research focused on the problem of reference, which has been recognized as the most important one in Polish studies (as well as in Polish literature, and art) since its beginning in the first decade of the 20th century. In the broader scope the article attempts to rearticulate the definition of the discipline conventionally called “the theory of literature”, and to propose a new way of writing its history.

The article presents a review of specialized literature and an assessment of empirical studies related to the use of body cameras in law enforcement. Its main objective is to analyze the use and impact of these devices, focusing on their purposes, benefits and challenges in law enforcement. The literature review explores trends, policies and debates related to body cameras, highlighting their theoretically expected advantages and disadvantages. Additionally, the article offers a critical analysis of empirical studies examining the impact of body cameras in areas such as police use of force, anti-police complaints, and police compliance. By organizing and synthesizing existing literature, the article provides a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of body camera use in law enforcement. Key words: 1. Body cameras; 2. W pracy autor przedstawił charakterystykę historiografii dwudziestolecia międzywojennego dotyczącą historii policji. Zaprezentowane ogólnoświatowe i polskie trendy pozwalają zrozumieć sens treści publikacji naukowych i popularyzatorskich. Zainteresowanie przeszłością policji, jakie nastąpiło w dwudziestoleciu międzywojennym, koncentrowało się na XIX wieku, ale także na epoce nowożytnej (XVI-XVIII w.). Uwagę autora zwróciły dwa wydane w omawianym okresie tytuły: W. Strzeleckiego Bezpieczeństwo na ziemiach Polski. Od kmiecia grodowego do granatowej armii oraz W. Kawki, Policja w ujęciu historycznym i współczesnym. Te przekrojowe prace oparte na naukowej literaturze oraz źródłach w sposób reprezentatywny oddają obraz ówczesnej wiedzy dotyczącej policji. Wyjaśniają jej źródłosłów, przedstawiają kompetencje oraz poruszają niekiedy problemy społeczne, które stanowiły obszar działania omawianej instytucji.

ResumenEl presente artículo comenta el otorgamiento del Premio Nobel de Literatura del 2018 a la escritora polaca Olga Tokarczuk. Este premio constituye el sexto otorgado a un escritor polaco. Se discute la preeminencia de autores de un país europeo relativamente pequeño, con una lengua que solo la hablan treinta millones de personas y que no suele ser traducida; y se señalan algunas causas para ello. Asimismo se comenta la escasa presencia de autores de otros continentes en la lista de los premios Nobel de Literatura.Palabras clave: Olga Tokarczuk, Polonia, Premio Nobel de Literatura, poesía. AbstractThis paper comments on the awarding of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Literature to the Polish writer Olga Tokarczuk. This Nobel Prize is the sixth awarded to a Polish writer. The author discusses the preeminence of authors from a relatively small European country, with a language that is only spoken by thirty millionpeople and that is not usually translated, pointing out some causes for it. Abstract (sommario):

This paper presents the images of women in European culture and Old Polish Literature. The works devoted to women from the Middle Ages to Baroque focused on their social and political duties or artistic creation. The authors chose different literary forms: chronicles, poems, epigrams, laments, odes, sonnets, or epic works. The created characters included: a saint, a beloved lady, a donna angelicata, a hero of a chronicle or an autobiography. The works described their life, creative activity, or artistic aspirations. Some of them are panegyric poems, religious works, meditations, or love poetry. Women with an amazing sense of observation were discovering the space of literature and were participating in a world in its dynamic changes. They were excellent creators of humanistic and religious literature, referring to ancient tradition and European values.

In today’s Central Europe ethnolinguistic nationalism is the region’s standard normative ideology of statehood creation, legitimation and maintenance. This ideology proposes that in spatial terms, the area of the use of national language X should overlap with the territory of nation-state X, in which all members of nation X should reside. In terms of cultural policy, this means that only works written by “indubitable” members of nation X in language X can be seen as belonging to culture X. This self-limiting pattern of ethnolinguistic “purity” (homogeneity) excluded from 20th century Polish literature much of traditional Polish-Lithuanian culture and numerous authors writing in other post-Polish-Lithuanian languages than Polish. Democratization that followed the fall of communism in 1989 partly transcended this ethnolinguistic exclusion, but the old national policy has been back since 2015.

Belarusian literature in Poland after 1989. About the necessity of developing a literature databaseSpeaking about Belarusian literature in Poland we focus on fiction, its translation into Polish and the study of literature. The existence of the Belarusian literature in Poland in the post-war period is indicated by the following bibliographies: a bibliography of translations for the period 1945–1994 (G. Charytoniuk, Literatura białoruska w Polsce. Bibliografia przekładów za lata 1945–1994, Białystok 1996) and a subject bibliography for the period 1945–1998 (G. Charytoniuk, Polskie białorutenika literackie. Bibliografia przedmiotowa 1945–1998, Białystok 1998). The new political, economical and social conditions in Poland after 1989 have had an influence on the situation of the Belarusian literature. In addition to the existing departments some new university departments and scientific branches have been organized. Their aim is to realize new scientific projects connected with the Belarusian literature in Poland and Belarus. A lot of nongovernment organizations (funds, partnerships, associations) have been organized not only in Bialystok region, but also in the other parts of the country. A new publishing market has been established which has focused on the modern literature of Central and Eastern Europe including Belarusian literature. The Internet also plays an important role in popularization of the Belarusian literature. That literature has been included in the database of the National library (Przewodnik Bibliograficzny, Bibliografia Zawartości Czasopism), regional libraries (Bibliografia województwa podlaskiego) and the digital library (Polska Bibliografia Literacka). The information is searched by institutional scientific depositories and digital libraries. The considerable part of the information has not been registered in the bibliographic database. In this situation it is necessary to develop an integral literature bibliographic database of the Belarusian literature in Poland. Literatura białoruska w Polsce po roku 1989. O potrzebie tworzenia bazy literackiejKiedy się mówi o literaturze białoruskiej w Polsce, trzeba mieć na uwadze literaturę piękną, jej przekłady na język polski i literaturę przedmiotu. O obecności literatury białoruskiej w Polsce powojennej świadczą bibliografie: przekładów obejmująca lata 1945-1994 (G. Charytoniuk, Literatura białoruska w Polsce. Bibliografia przekładów za lata 1945-1994, Białystok 1996) i przedmiotowa lat 1945-1998 (G. Charytoniuk, Polskie białorutenika literackie. Bibliografia przedmiotowa 1945-1998, Białystok 1998). Nowe warunki polityczne, społeczne i ekonomiczne w Polsce po 1989 roku wpłynęły i na sytuację literatury białoruskiej. Pojawiły się nowe uniwersyteckie katedry i zakłady naukowe. Realizują one projekty badawcze uwzględniające literaturę białoruską w Polsce i na Białorusi. Powstały liczne organizacje pozarządowe (fundacje, towarzystwa i stowarzyszenia) nie tylko na Białostocczyźnie, ale i w innych miejscach w kraju. Utworzył się nowy rynek wydawniczy, który zwrócił uwagę i na współczesną literaturę krajów Europy Środkowej i Wschodniej, w tym białoruską. Ważną rolę w popularyzacji literatury białoruskiej pełni Internet. Literatura ta jest rejestrowana przez bibliografię narodową (Przewodnik Bibliograficzny, Bibliografia Zawartości Czasopism) i regionalną (Bibliografię Województwa Podlaskiego). Wyszukiwanie informacji ułatwiają instytucjonalne repozytoria naukowe i biblioteki cyfrowe. Znaczna część dokumentów pozostaje jednak poza rejestracją bibliograficzną. Pojawia się więc potrzeba stworzenia bazy literackiej dotyczącej literatury białoruskiej w Polsce, która dążyłaby do kompletności bibliograficznej.

We review economics research regarding the effect of police, punishments, and work on crime, with a particular focus on papers from the last twenty years. Evidence in favor of deterrence effects is mixed. While there is considerable evidence that crime is responsive to police and to the existence of attractive legitimate labor-market opportunities, there is far less evidence that crime responds to the severity of criminal sanctions. We discuss fruitful directions for future work and implications for public policy. (JEL J64, K42)

The article, based on an analysis of police records, the author’s own experience and available literature, presents the development of medical rescue in the Polish Police in the years 1990–2019. The article also gives examples of police rescue operations, which indicate police offi cers’ professional preparation to help other people in a state of sudden health emergency. On the basis of the analysis of the collected relevant literature, the author has adopted a hypothesis that the medical rescue service of the Polish Police, after many years of transformations, has become an essential element of the daily service of Polish Police offi cers.

Abstract (sommario):

The topic of the article is one of the German SS regiments stationed in occupied Poland and its role in The German occupation policy. While the history of the SS formation is very well known in both academic and popular science literature, its cavalry has not been elaborated in great detail thus far. Although this topic seems interesting, it has not yet been discussed in any book in the Polish language. Most of the literature related to this topic was published in German and English. The 1st SS Death’s Head Cavalry Regiment operated primarily in the General Government and was under the Higher SS and Police Command. Some of its squadrons also operated in areas annexed to the Reich, i.e. the Warta Voievodship (Reichsgau Wartheland). From this article we will learn about the formation of the SS Death’s Head cavalry and its gradual inclusion in the brutal occupation policy of the Third Reich in Poland. In the case of its formation, we are dealing with tasks such as combating the early partisan units, searching for weapons, participating in the creation of ghettos, or helping to eliminate Polish levels of the intelligentsia. Noteworthy is the participation of this unit in the production of the propaganda film “Kampfgeschwader Lützow”, in which Polish cavalrymen were presented attacking German tanks with sabres. This false image was reproduced after the war in some movies or books, and contributed to the distorted presentation of Polish soldiers in the defensive battles of 1939.

ABSTRACTThe author presents an empirical study of the direct corporate taxation policy process in the European Union. The study links three public policy literatures that are usually considered somewhat distinct and independent: the literature on the politics of tax reform, the literature on policy change and the political role of knowledge, and the literature on European integration. The examination of these literatures leads to a series of hypotheses which are used for addressing the analysis of the policy process. The conclusions assess the hypotheses and draw implications for the study of knowledge utilisation, policy change, and policy types.

W artykule przedstawiono dwutomową publikację Literatura a religia. Wyzwania epoki świeckiej (Kraków 2020) jako nowatorską analizę polskiej literatury po roku 1945, w której wykorzystano nowe koncepcje badania religijności i sekularyzmu, przede wszystkim prace Charlesa Taylora. Podkreślono, że zaprezentowane w monografii odczytanie literatury modyfikuje też obraz polskiej kultury, za której cechę charakterystyczną uznaje się religijność. W odwołaniu do ważnych dyskusji i tekstów na temat sekularyzacji w publikacji zastosowano rozszerzone rozumienia religijności, wyjęte z formuły konfesyjnej. Pozwala to na ciekawe odczytania dzieł takich pisarzy, jak Witold Gombrowicz, Miron Białoszewski, Stanisław Lem, Marian Pankowski, wzbogacające paletę polskich postaw wobec wiary. Autorka artykułu zwraca uwagę na dwutomowy podział pracy: tom pierwszy prezentuje metodologie i teoretyczne ujęcia zagadnienia literatury i religii; tom drugi – analizy twórczości konkretnych pisarzy. Dzięki temu czytelnik otrzymuje kompendium sygnalizowanego przez tytuł zagadnienia, które daje mu zarówno przegląd teorii i narzędzi metodologicznych, jak i przykłady czytania na nowo dzieł literatury polskiej. Faith and Its Phantoms: On the Margin of the Monograph Literature and Religion. Challenges of the Secular Age The article presents the two-volume publication Literature and Religion. Challenges of the Secular Age (Kraków 2020) as an innovative analysis of the Polish literature after 1945, in which new concepts of researching religiousness and secularity – mostly the works of Charles Taylor – were used. It was highlighted that the literature reading presented in the monograph modifies the image of Polish culture, whose characteristic feature is identified as religiousness. Referring back to important discussions and texts on the topic of secularisation, an extended understanding of religiousness taken out of the confession formula was applied. Such approach enables an interesting reading of works of such authors as Witold Gombrowicz, Miron Białoszewski, Stanisław Lem and Marian Pankowski, which enriches the range of Polish attitudes towards faith. The author of the article notes the work’s division into two volumes: the first volume presents the methodologies and the theoretical approaches to literature and religion; the second volume is dedicated to the analysis of the oeuvres of the specific writers. Thanks to it, the reader receives a compendium on the topic signalised in the title, which provides the overview of theories and methodological tools as well as examples of new readings of Polish literary works.

Financial inclusion has arisen as an important social policy agenda over the past twenty years. A scholarly literature has emerged that is very critical of financial inclusion, seeing it as part of the financialisation of the everyday. Often, this theoretical literature makes little reference to how financial inclusion was developing in practice. Conversely, much of the policy literature does not refer to theoretical controversies about financial inclusion. The result is that the theoretical and policy literatures are developing in isolation from one another. This article suggests that it would be much better if there were greater mixing between these different literatures. The scholarly literature can inform the direction of policy and the applied literature can develop more nuanced versions of financialisation.

Resumo Estudos sobre implementação de políticas públicas têm buscado melhores formas de compreender as falhas e a própria realidade desse processo. A partir de uma revisão sistemática da literatura, que contou com análise bibliométrica, este artigo aponta a historiografia e as frentes de pesquisa sobre a temática e analisa a autoria e as redes de cocitação de autores. Posteriormente, uma metanálise das publicações que compõem o portfólio teórico final (construído por meio do ano de publicação, número de citações e fator de impacto dos periódicos) apresenta as perspectivas e os modelos teóricos prevalentes, os resultados empíricos e as lacunas de cada trabalho. Resultados apontam que temas como governança, desenvolvimento sustentável, e-government, street-level bureaucracy (burocracia de nível de rua), políticas de saúde e descentralização dos processos da administração pública trazem um cenário de pesquisas relevantes para teorizações e aplicações empíricas das discussões do campo. Por fim, apresenta-se uma agenda de pesquisa futura.

Albania is a small country in Europe, which was under Turkish occupation for nearly five centuries. It did not regain its independence until 28 November 1912. During the occupation there was almost no foreign literature translated into Albanian, as more than 85% of the population were illiterate and in general there were no scientific institutions or schools. The first primary school was opened in 1887. Only in the 1920s, with the emergence of intelligentsia, world literature started to be translated into Albanian, which included Polish literature. However, the translations were not done from the Polish language but from Italian translations of it. The first Polish literary work translated into Albanian from Italian was the Nobel prize winner Henryk Sienkiewicz’s novel, Quo Vadis? (in 1933). The book was translated for the second time in 1999. The translation of Polish literature into Albanian gained momentum after World War II, and especially after 2000. So far, nearly 55 books by 34 Polish authors have been translated into Albanian, including Adam Mickiewicz (among them his great work, Pan Tadeusz), Henryk Sienkiewicz, Boleslaw Prus, Czesław Miłosz, Wisława Szymborska, Olga Tokarczuk, Ryszard Kapuściński, Tadeusz Różewicz, Witold Gombrowicz, Fr. Marcin Czermiński, and others. At the same time, 8 Albanian authors wrote books on Polish topics in Albanian. Apart from the Albanian translators from Albania, Polish literature has also been translated into Albanian by Albanians from Kosovo. In comparison with other European countries, Albania is a leader as far as the number of Polish books translated is concerned. Polish literature in Albanian is generally popular among Albanian readers. Some of the books are published for the second, or even after the third time.

In the geopolitical area of Eastern and Central Europe 20th century was a period of unwilling and un- planned migration of huge numbers of individuals, groups of people, societies or even whole nations, and the displace- ment of borders and states. Two destructive wars, two totalitarian systems fighting against each other forced millions of human beings to change the place of living. Especially the experience of the World War II settled the fate of many people in the region and caused several waves of political emigration. The author uses the term ‘old literature’ in broad sense, including also 19th century literary output, as for the big number of young researchers this period of history seems to be a very old one. Among the Polish refugees fleeing the country in various times and circumstances there were also politicians, soldiers, artist, writers, people of culture and scholars. The article presents and reminds of some Polish researchers of literature who had to change their country of living by political reasons, but did not abandon their research. The first group of emigrants formed those who left Poland short before or during the world war II. Some of them worked as professors at west European universities, an decided not to returned into the country occupied by Germans or emigrated with Polish Government, others get in Western Europe leaving Soviet Union with the Polish army formed by general Anders. They continued scholar work abroad and took part in formation of several new generations of researchers in Slavonic litera- ture. Another wave of emigration took place after the war, in late 40. and included mainly Polish citizens of Jewish origin who in spite of surviving the holocaust and returning home decided to leave Poland for fear of communism. A numerous emigration of Polish Jews was also provoked by communist government of Poland in march 1968. The author presents briefly the silhouettes of such scholars as Stanisław Kot, Wacław Lednicki, Józef Trypućko, Wiktor Weintraub, Jadwiga Maurer, Rachmiel Brandwajn and Jan Kott. The situation of 20th century Polish emigrants seems very similar to that of 19th and also represents the common experience of many Eastern and Central European countries and societies. Losing the homeland scholars of these countries also lost the close contact with their cultural roots, but on the other hand they gained a wider glance, distanced outlook of national literature and art and common platform of dialog and confrontation. Many times the foreign Universities, where they found the possibility to provide their research and meet the representative émigrés of other nations, became for them such places as Collège de France for Adam Mickiewicz and constitute the space where they all could meet together without mutual distrust and give lectures about Slavonic literature and culture for German, British of American students, inspiring them to pursue studies in Slavonic philology.

Abstract One topic rarely discussed in the policing literature is driving-related accidents, injuries, and deaths, despite the fact that, for example, such deaths vastly outnumber gun-related fatalities for officers on active duty. There is even less literature on automobile-related incidents and deaths in relation to rural policing. Based on 14 focus groups with police officers (n = 49) across a primarily rural Canadian province, we probe the various driving-related risks faced by these officers. Drawing from the literature on automobility, we examine the various aspects of driving that place officers at risk of fatality. We highlight the driving-related occupational risks specific to rural policing and how such risks inhibit their ability to conduct their jobs safely and effectively. We conclude with policy implications and avenues for future research.

<p>Przedmiotem rozważań dla niniejszego szkicu są przede wszystkim wątki feministyczne obecne w polskiej literaturze kobiet. Tekst podejmuje refleksję dotyczącą następujących kwestii: czy istnieje zjawisko literatury feministycznej w Polsce; czy wątki feministyczne są charakterystyczne tylko dla sztuki kobiet; jakie feminizmy obecne są w literaturze kobiet? Socjologiczna badania pokazują, iż w Polsce feminizm nie zyskuje aprobaty społecznej nawet wśród kobiet doświadczającyh nierówności płciowych. Ciagle pokutuje negowanie pozytywnej roli feminizmu, zakorzeniiła sie silnie postawa antyfeministyczna mająca żróło w braku wiedzy, streotypach odnośnie do ruchu kobiet. Ewa Malinowska wiele lat temu argumentowała, że ruch feministyczny w Polsce jest działaniem jednostek a nie kolektywnej pracy aktorów społecznych. Rodzimych korzeni literatury związanej z femiznimem upartuje się <em>Entuzjstkach</em> Narcyzy Żmichowskiej. Skupione wokół tego ruchu pisarki angażowały się w polityczną i edukacyjną działalność. Po okresie I wojny światowej, wraz z zyskaniem praw do głosowania i edukacji rodzima literatura kobiet zaatakowała zerwaniem wielu społecznych, obyczajowych tabu, w tym seksulanych, np. ciąża, macierzyństwo, aborcja, małżeństwo (G. Zapolska, Z. Nalkowska, M. Kuncewiczowa, P. Gojawiczyńska, I. Krzywicka, A. Gruszecka, H. Boguszewska and many others).Druga wojna światowa i póżniejszy PRL przysłoniły idee feministyczne, ważne tematy i problemy dla kobiet. Sytuacja uległa zmiane po 1989 roku wraz z debiutami pisarek nie tylko opisujących doświadczenia kobiece ale także otwarcie declarującycmi sympatię do feminizmu w wywiadach (np. Manuela Gretkowska, Izabela Filipiak, Olga Tokarczuk, Natasza Goerke). Współczesne literatura nie jest ofensywna, pisarki nie walczą i nie deklarują otwarcie femistycznej postawy, wartości.</p><p><strong>Feminism in Polish Women’s Literature</strong></p>SUMMARY<p>The subject of discussion in this sketch is first of all feminist themes present in Polish women’s literature. The text considers the following questions: whether the phenomenon of feminist literature exists in Poland; whether feminist themes are characteristic only of women’s art; what feminisms are present in women’s literature? Sociological studies show that feminism is not socially approved even among women who experience gender inequalities. The denial of the positive role of feminism still persists, and there is a deeprooted antifeminist attitude stemming from ignorance and stereotypes. Many years ago Ewa Malinowska argued that the feminist movement in Poland consisted in the activity of individuals rather than the collective work of social activists. The native roots of literature associated with feminism are sought in Narcyza Żmichowska’s Enthusiasts (Entuzjastki) group. The women writers participating in this movement were involved in political and educational activities. After World War One, after women were granted voting rights and right to education, women’s literature in Poland touched on many social and moral taboos, including sexual, such as pregnancy, maternity, abortion, or marriage (G. Zapolska, Z. Nałkowska, M. Kuncewiczowa, P. Gojawiczyńska, I. Krzywicka, A. Gruszecka, H. Boguszewska, and others). World War Two and the period of People’s Poland pushed feminist ideas and women’s important problems and subjects into the deep background. The situation changed after 1989 with the debuts of women writers who not only described female experiences but also openly declared their sympathies towards feminism in interviews (e.g. Manuela Gretkowska, Izabela Filipiak, Olga Tokarczuk, and Natasza Goerke). Contemporary literature is not aggressive, however: women writers do not fi ght and do not openly espouse feminist attitudes and values.</p>

This article describes the influence of the ancient and Christian tradition on the formation of the genology of the idyll. It is a species structure that has a special kind of motivation, which was manifested in the methods of its conventionalization. The author presents the stage of the entry of the idyll into Polish literature of the Renaissance starting with the first Latin-language traces of idyllic creativity by Pietro Illicino and Stanisław Koszutski. Currently, these literary works are little known, although the circumstances of their creation are very interesting. Furthermore, bucolic provenance was discussed, referring to the Italian and Greek traditions. The theme of ancient and Roman Catholic Arcadia was analysed. The systematized theoretical record includes information on the relationship of the idyll with other pastoral genres, such as eclogues, carols or pastorales. The article also interprets idylls that refer to the Christian concept of neoplatonic love, i.e. the divine Amor divinus and the wordly Amor profanus. The process of transforming a Latin idyll into a Polish-language idyll is presented in the context of cultural and literary conditions of that time. This article contains a description of important genre criteria (with the textual exemplifications) gradually adapted by the first authors of pastoral literature, such as: Jan Kochanowski, Szymon Szymonowic and the Zimorowic brothers. The opus of these poets prove the numerous transformations of idyllic criteria in specific textual realizations, showing the complicated path in the location of the idyll in the canon of literature and in Polish culture in general, with its lifespan and topicality at the same time. The study aimed to identify factors associated with suicide among police officers in Brazil. This is an integrative literature review that was based on the following guiding question: "What are the factors associated with suicide among police officers in Brazil?". Searches were performed in November 2023 in the scientific databases Virtual Health Library (VHL) (https:// pesquisa.bvsalud.org/portal/) and PubMed (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/), from the search key: ((POLICE) AND (SUICIDE)) and (BRAZIL). The descriptors used were extracted from the Mesh/National Library of Medicine platform. Original articles published in the last 10 years that presented characteristics, profile and risk factors associated with suicide were included. Literature review studies, dissertations, theses, letters to the editor and articles in duplicate were excluded. The studies were published between 2007 and 2022. The sample consisted of quantitative descriptive studies (n=3), retrospective cohort (n=1) and ecological time series (n=1). The surveys had samples mostly composed of military police men; only one study investigated federal highway police. The factors associated with suicide and suicidal ideation among police officers in Brazil were financial complications, psychopathological comorbidities, male sex, young age and incipient career graduation.

Police transformation policy to carry out community security functions is very adaptive in addressing the changing times. The research aims to map the transformation and strengthening of police infrastructure in response to the era of digitalization. The research uses a qualitative type of research with a literature study approach and policy analysis programmed by the Police. The results showed that the transformation policy consisting of organizational transformation, operation transformation, public service transformation, and supervise transformation is needed by the Police, especially in the current digital transition. Moreover, it can be carried out correctly if the Police have internally and externally owned by POLRI. The research concludes that transformative efforts and strengthening of police infrastructure strongly support the duties and functions of the National Police in securing the community.
