Abstract (sommario):

The article gives survey of the genesis of the Lithuanian periodicals and analyses the process of press development (in 1988 through 1995). The article deals with the conditions that determined emergence of the uncensored press of Sąjūdis movement during the Resurgence period (in 1988). The article reveals impact of publications of Sąjūdis movement on the Lithuanian society and the official press (in 1988 appeared about 70 publications of Sąjūdis movement) and the ways used by local individual editorial offices to disengage from "care" of the periodical press of the Communist Party. The article investigates development of the system of the Lithuanian periodical press after adoption of the Law on Mass Media (February 09, 1990) that liberated editorial offices from dependence on the Party and established the main provisions of freedom of the press. Communication process after 1990 resulted in appearance of new types of periodicals, in change of the status, publication structure and orientation of previous periodicals: a new system based on principles of self-adjustment was emerging. Appearance of multitude of different publications caused a problem of classification as there were neither criteria of classification nor types of groups of the periodicals identified. Therefore, certain data provided by statistical publications on the press do not reveal reality of journalistic practice. The author investigates structural development of the groups of different types of publications, gives survey of classification models provided by investigators of journalism and provides criteria for classification of periodicals that will enable to better reveal structural changes taking place in the system of the Lithuanian periodicals and development trends of the periodical press.

Abstract (sommario):

The lubrication by thin film has become a very important role in micro machine, magnetic storage device and so on. As the thickness of lubricant film becomes thinner to several nanometers, the conventional law of lubrication becomes unable to use. Nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulation (NEMD) was carried out to investigate the dynamic behavior of thin lubricant film confined between walls. The model used in these simulations is composed of two solid walls and fluorocarbon polymer lubricant. One of the walls is supporting a load and at the same time moving at constant velocity. Results indicate that the frictional behavior of confined lubricant varied with load; velocity field in the film retain liquid like structure under low load conditions, on the other hand, under high load conditions lubricant film becomes solidified and periodical stick and slip motion is observed at the layer near the wall. At the same time periodically vibrating friction force is observed. In this case, radius of gyration of lubricant molecules also changes periodically. It is concluded that the periodical vibration of friction force is caused by stick-slip with molecular deformation.

Abstract (sommario):

The article considers the role of periodical press bodies as exponents of the ideological views of the right-wing parties and organizations of the Volga region at the beginning of the XX century. The object of consideration is program provisions and ideological positions of a number of right-wing parties and organizations of the Volga region, the subject of the study are the periodical press bodies of these organizations, reflecting their conceptual attitudes on their pages and expanding, thanks to their format, presentation of programming details to the wide social strata. The purpose of this article is to show the opportunities of periodical press as mass media to reveal the ideological attitudes of right-wing conservative organizations. The retrospective, historical-comparative and problematic methods used for its implementation make it possible to compare the program and statutory provisions of the regional right-wing parties in the studied period with submission of their informative content in the press, to reveal redistribution and opportunities of program official documents and periodicals in this process. The conceptual ideological framework of political parties, including right-wing conservative ones, was laid down in the program and statutory provisions of organizations that had a certain textured limit. In such conditions, the periodical press organs acted as commentators on the ideological views of right-wing parties, on the one hand, and as mouthpieces and popularizers of their main ideas and political positions, on the other. The article uses specific examples to show the role of periodicals in explaining the programming of right-monarchical political parties and organizations and in broadcasting them to the masses. Based on the analysis of the publishing tasks defined by the periodicals and the slogans and subheadings placed in it, the main political views of the right-wing conservatives of the Volga region at the beginning of the XX century are revealed.

Abstract (sommario):

The authors of the article provide the main statistics of the Russian printed periodicals output in 2022, analyzing the typology of magazines, journals and newspapers, current state and trends in this sphere of the publishing business in Russia. The role of printed information in general and in the field of periodical publications — especially is outlined as the most reliable source of the social important information in the current conditions of the hybrid war with Western World. 13 tables with comments present the number of titles of magazines, journals and newspapers, their print runs, geography of issue, thematics and purpose. The acting normative base for the Russian state registration of printed periodicals and perspectives of its modernization is analyzed in accordance with the legislation about legal deposits, current state of publishing business and information needs of its main subjects. The article also tells about the main principles and historical traditions of the domestic statistics of printed periodicals which remain unchanged for many decades and such a situation provides the compatibility of statistical figures in this field of activities.

Recent historiography on the growth of periodical publishing has emphasized newspapers and journals as constituents of an emergent communications system in early modern Europe. This system comprised the newspapers, journals and other publications that contributed its content, and also the postal systems that were the principal method of distributing that content. This article describes how the growth of this system in central Europe was supported in large measure by financial incentives that it offered to both constituents. First, in contrast with postal systems in France and the UK, the Thurn und Taxis Reichspost inserted itself as a middleman in the sale of periodicals, which gave the Reichspost an incentive to promote the trade. Second, the financial conditions for periodical publication made their costs depend more heavily on costs that were scalable to circulation than is true today, which resulted in the viability of publications with a lower circulation. The same cost structure also made it possible for certain prominent periodicals of the era to earn considerable profits for their publishers, as illustrated in this article by Allgemeine Literatur-Zeitung , which was published in Jena from 1785.

Abstract (sommario):

Harvesting of silage maize in late autumn on waterlogged soils may result in several ecological problems such as soil compaction and may subsequently be a major threat to soil fertility in Europe. It was hypothesized that perennial energy crops might reduce the vulnerability for soil compaction through earlier harvest dates and improved soil stability. However, the performance of such crops to be grown on soil that are periodically waterlogged and implications for soil chemical and microbial properties are currently an open issue. Within the framework of a two-year pot experiment we investigated the potential of the cup plant (Silphium perfoliatum L.), Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus), giant knotweed (Fallopia japonicum × bohemica), tall wheatgrass (Agropyron elongatum), and reed canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea) for cultivation under periodically waterlogged soil conditions during the winter half year and implications for soil chemical and biological properties. Examined perennial energy crops coped with periodical waterlogging and showed yields 50% to 150% higher than in the control which was never faced with waterlogging. Root formation was similar in waterlogged and non-waterlogged soil layers. Soil chemical and microbial properties clearly responded to different soil moisture treatments. For example, dehydrogenase activity was two to four times higher in the periodically waterlogged treatment compared to the control. Despite waterlogging, aerobic microbial activity was significantly elevated indicating morphological and metabolic adaptation of the perennial crops to withstand waterlogged conditions. Thus, our results reveal first evidence of a site-adapted biomass production on periodical waterlogged soils through the cultivation of perennial energy crops and for intense plant microbe interactions.

Abstract (sommario):

The goal of this article consists in examination of periodical press issued by the Student Youth Unions of the Russian Far East in the early XX century. Based on the publications of archival printed sources, the author explores the conditions of creation, typological and informative peculiarities of the periodicals in the context of political-economic and sociocultural situation of the 1900-1922. The geography of the current research spreads to the entire Far East. Taking into account the historical context, the boundaries of the conducted research were extended to Zabaykalsky Krai – region that is historically referred to the Russian Far East, and zone of the Chinese Eastern Railway – Northeast China. The research is philological in its essence, leans on the interdisciplinary approach and synthesizes the knowledge of different sciences: literary studies, theory and history of journalism, and culturology. The scientific novelty consists in attraction of the new factual evidence – publication of periodical press that have not previously been the subject of analysis among the Russian and foreign scholars. The new approach in studying Russian journalism of the early XX century became the research of the general patterns of development, as well as peculiarities of functioning of the separate periodicals issued by the Student Youth Unions of the Russian Far East.

Abstract (sommario):

The article is devoted to the reflection in the periodical press of the Rostov region of 1950-1970 of the social policy of the state aimed at the development of state support for women, protection of mother-hood and childhood, improvement of living conditions of the Soviet family. The article reflects the activities of the state in the implementation of individual measures and the response of society to the initiatives of the Soviet government. Special attention is paid to the materials of the periodical press, on the pages of which the problems of motherhood and childhood in the Rostov region are reflected, the priority of solving certain issues by state authorities is revealed. The importance of publications in newspapers on this subject is noted, as the most accessible and mass forms of periodicals for broadcasting the necessary vector of state policy to society. It is concluded that with the help of printing in the Rostov region, an ideal inseparable image of a working woman and a woman-mother was purposefully constructed. In addition, there was a popularization of the thesis about the purposeful efforts of the leadership of the country's social services of the necessary conditions for a work-ing woman during her employment at work, and the simultaneous upbringing of children in kindergartens and nurseries.

Nowadays the great public libraries in Bulgaria are gaining the appearance of digital centers which provide new informational resources and services in the digital space. The digital conversion as a way of preservation is one of the important priorities of Regional Public Library in Veliko Tarnovo. In the last few years we persistently search for possible ways of financing by national and foreign programs in this direction. In the beginning the strategy was oriented to digitalization of the funds with most urgent conversion – these of the local studies periodicals from 1878 till 1944 year. The digitalization of funds will create conditions of laying the basement of full text database of Bulgarian periodical publications. The technology that is offered gives opportunities for including other libraries in the Unified index, which can develop it into a National Unified index of periodical publications. The integrated informational environment that is created is an attractive, comfortable and useful place for work in home or at work for researchers, historians, art experts, bibliographers. The library readers use very actively all informational services of the library internet page and work competently with the on-line indexes provided there, they find the necessary title, which can be demanded later for usage in home or in the library, using electronic means again.

Abstract (sommario):

The possibility of periodical mask fabrication with elements of minimal size by means of interference photolithography is considered. The method is based on application of striped interference picture of coherent light for photoresist exposition. The investigation of inorganic photoresist based on chalcogenide glass As 2 S 3 reveals high resolution, sufficient contrast and vertical edge of the masks stripe. The influence of exposure dose and development parameters on photoresist profile are analyzed with the help of the method of computer simulation of the development process. The possibility of decreasing the effect of standing light wave by means of additional homogeneous light irradiation is demonstrated. The optimal conditions for minimum size elements fabrication are found, which enables fabrication of periodical grating with a 80-nm-wide line and two-dimensional periodical structures with pillars of 50 nm cross-section.

Abstract (sommario):

A numerical investigation of directional solidification of Al-7wt.%Si alloy stirred by a rotating magnetic field is compared with experimental results. Experimental study of such process has revealed periodical macrosegregation in axial direction of the samples in the shape of a “Christmas tree”. Similar macrosegregation pattern is obtained in simulations for the two values of magnetic field. Numerical simulations have shown also that formation of the periodical structure depends not only on the external conditions but on the permeability of the mushy zone.

Abstract (sommario):

In this paper, through generally using basic priniciple of heat transfer and gear, established the transient conduction differential equation and its definite conditions. On the basis of tribology and engagement theory, established the periodical boundary condition. Using ANSYS Programm, we analyzed temperature distribution of a spur gear operating under transient friction heat, and its periodical change. Simultaneously, we get the flash temperature distribution on the engaged surface of spur gear and its change curves. The basis for precisely studying its thermal deformation and profile modification is also established.

In the paper is given a method of finding periodical solutions of the differential equation of the form $x''(t)+p(t)x''(t-1)=q(t)x([t])+f(t),$ where $[\cdot]$ denotes the greatest integer function, $p(t)$,$q(t)$ and $f(t)$ are continuous periodic functions of $t$. This reduces $n$-periodic soluble problem to a system of $n+1$ linear equations, where $n=2,3$. Furthermore, by using the well known properties of linear system in the algebra, all existence conditions for $2$ and $3$-periodical solutions are described, and the explicit formula for these solutions are obtained.

Abstract (sommario):

An origin of both accidental and systematic errors of Hipparcos star abscissae is studied in the frames of the great circle reduction algorithm, adopted in the Hipparcos mission. Systematic variations of the basic angle within one turn of the Hipparcos satellite may be caused by periodical irregularities of the thermal flow from the sun radiation inside the satellite optical unit, enclosed in a hexagonal envelope. This would lead to periodical errors in the star abscissae at certain periods. It is shown, that an oscillation of the basic angle with a period of 60 degrees is the most dangerous one, as it is amplifyed 4.5 times. Lindegren et al. (1992) found, that the sixth harmonic in the star abscissae residuals clearly dominated with an amplitude of 0.96 milli-arcsec. If this is caused by basic angle disturbances, it follows that the amplitude of such variation may be up to 0.21 milli-arcsec. It is pointed out, that the thermal basic angle disturbances are not the only reason to expect periodical errors in star abscissae. Random abscissa errors too are inevitably of strong periodical sort, the periods of the largest harmonics being 60, 30, 18.9 (2π/19), 14.4 (2π/25) and 11.6 (2π/31) degrees for a basic angle of 58 degrees. They arise from the spatial spectrum transformation of the white noise in the primary observational data due to so-called ‘non-rigidity’ of star abscissae. The non-rigidity term acts as a factor to the photon noise errors of observations for stars of certain magnitude. A radical way to diminish both accidental and systematic periodical errors in a future Hipparcos-like astrometric satellite would be to use two different basic angles (Makarov, 1992). The basic angles of 58 and 74 degrees were considered, as they were found to be an optimal combination. In that case an improvement of precision by a factor of 2.8 can be achieved with the same Hipparcos parameters, some part of which should be explained by doubling number of observations, that is 2. It may be concluded, that using two telescopes with different basic angles for space astrometry allows to increase significantly precision for a great deal of stars under the same conditions.

In this рарег we analyze the transient processes in two-dimensional dynamical system with discrete time (Henon map) demonstrating periodical oscillations. The method оf calculation оf the transient process duration and its dependence оn the accuracy of determination of the process and on the initial conditions is considered. Mechanisms leading to complication of this dependence are revealed. In the second part of the work we plan to consider the dependence of the mean duration of the transient process when controlling parameters change.

We characterize the homogenization limit of the solution of a Poisson equation in a bounded domain, either periodically perforated or containing a set of asymmetric periodical small particles and on the boundaries of these particles a nonlinear dynamic boundary condition holds involving a Holder nonlinear $\sigma(u)$. We consider the case in which the diameter of the perforations (or the diameter of particles) is critical in terms of the period of the structure. As in many other cases concerning critical size, a "strange" nonlinear term arises in the homogenized equation. For this case of asymmetric critical particles we prove that the effective equation is a semilinear elliptic equation in which the time arises as a parameter and the nonlinear expression is given in terms of a nonlocal operator H which is monotone and Lipschitz continuous on $L^2(0,T)$, independently of the regularity of $\sigma$.

Abstract (sommario):

The authors of the article cite the main statistical indicators of the output of printed domestic periodicals in 2023, especially analyzing in detail the typology of magazines and newspapers, the current state and trends in the development of this sphere in Russia. The role of printed information in general, and in the sphere of periodicals in particular, as the most reliable source of socially significant information in the current conditions of hybrid warfare with the West is emphasized. 14 tables with comments give an idea of the number of magazine and newspaper titles, their circulation, geography and languages of issue, subject matter and purpose. There has been an almost continuous decline in all annual core indicators for both these groups of publications since 2015. The article analyzes the current regulatory framework for Russian state press statistics and the prospects for its modernization in accordance with the legislation about legal deposit, the current state of the publishing industry and the information needs of its main subjects.

Abstract (sommario):

Polska Ludowa, published since April 1, 1945 in Poznañ, was among the most important periodicals of the Polish People’s Party (PSL), presided over by Stanis³aw Miko³ajczyk. The periodical consistently tried to present an image of reality that diverged from the model followed by the press coverage of other political parties, therefore it suffered from large scale censorship. The Regional Authority for the Control of Press, Publications and Performances did not permit the publication of news that could disturb the image of political life created by government propaganda. Therefore, articles prepared in the periodical from Wielkopolska were systematically purged of any references to the high social support enjoyed by the PSL or the party being discriminated against by state institutions. All releases describing cases of political terrorism were also blocked. All mentions of the Polish Workers’ Party (PPR) and its representatives in state authorities were particularly investigated. Censors would delete expressions that evidenced the privileged status of this party or its methods of political competition that defied the principles of democracy. This is indicated by the numerous steps censors took in the periods running up to parliamentary elections. Censors made frequent interventions in articles on social and economic topics as well. Significant restrictions also concerned articles discussing living conditions, security and economic crimes and abuses. The issues of international relations were touched on by Polska Ludowa to a smaller extent, which made censors pay particular attention to articles concerning the Soviet Union.

Abstract (sommario):

Professional periodicals have always been an important element of both professional communication and the system of continuous education and professional development of library professionals. Until 1919, there was no periodical published in Ukraine, which would highlight the current issues of library affairs. In the 20s and 30s of the XX century a significant number of periodicals were published, which were partially or fully revealed various issues of library construction in Ukraine. It was during this period that there was a surge in the development of librarianship as a science. At the same time, it is a period of total centralization, ideologization, planning, propaganda, rejection of generally recognized international trends, and orientation only on internal socio-political processes. Library periodicals of the first two decades of the Soviet era functioned in extremely difficult conditions, but on the pages of the periodicals, despite strict censorship, Ukrainian librarians tried to maintain the best traditions of the periodicals of leading Western countries. For many years, neither the dissidents nor the Sixties movement, who tried to defend historical justice and restore the free development of Ukrainian culture, mercilessly criticizing Marxist-Leninist ideas and the entire Soviet system, failed to change the situation. The study of Ukrainian specialized periodicals, the identification of their defining role in the development of Ukrainian librarianship, permanent informational support of scientific research, promotion of the heritage of culture and science in Ukraine and the world are extremely relevant in scientific, theoretical and practical aspects.

Although there is much discussion on the evaluation of the dissemination ability of sci-tech periodicals, there is no perfect evaluation method system in the existing studies, and especially the evaluation model is not operable. This paper converts the qualitative evaluation of the dissemination ability into a multi-criteria decision-making problem, and proposes a research method of sci-tech periodicals dissemination ability based on hesitant fuzzy linguistic. Firstly, this paper systematically combs the research progress of the evaluation of dissemination ability of sci-tech periodicals and multi-criteria decision-making under uncertainty. Then, a multi-criteria decision-making method based on hesitant fuzzy linguistic correlation is proposed, which fully considers the preferences of decision makers and effectively integrates the incomplete compensation hypothesis. Finally, the periodical topic planning, knowledge popularization recognition, publishing market operation ability and supporting discipline construction are selected as empirical conditions to verify the applicability and effectiveness of the model. At the same time, in order to make the empirical results more objective and scientific, the density clustering results of the questionnaire are used instead of the decision-maker membership score in the evaluation of dissemination ability. Theoretical analysis and empirical results show that the method proposed in this paper can be effectively applied to the evaluation of the dissemination ability of sci-tech periodicals.

Introduction. The paper analyses the Russian public sphere during World War I. Special attention is paid to the peculiarities of the functioning of the periodical press under the conditions of military censorship. The paper demonstrates how censorship restrictions regulated the discussion of issues that were of special political importance and transformed the publicity regime in the country. Methods and materials. The presented work is based on the principles of historicism and objectivity. The methodological framework for writing the article is the public sphere model proposed by J. Habermas, as well as special methodological approaches developed in the works of N. Luhmann. With a view to understanding and analysing the processes taking place in the public sphere, the research method of case studies is used. The source base of the study, in addition to publications in periodicals, consists of official documents regulating the activities of military censorship institutions in Russia. Analysis. The study reveals and demonstrates the possibilities of the periodical press to create a special sphere of publicity in the country through the information impact on the population. The article states that the press at the early stage of World War I did not differ in the variety of opinions, made no attempt to develop an objective overview of what was going on. First of all, the issues of the “fair war” and “inevitable victory” were brought up, which fueled the atmosphere of patriotic euphoria. At the same time, the military censorship suppressed any attempts to discuss the possibility of making peace between belligerent countries, even if they came from the supporters of military conflict, as it was the case with the article by P.A. Sorokin. The same trend was observed both in 1915 and 1916. Mentioning peace on the pages of the periodical press was equated with violations that the enemies could use to their advantage. Results. Thus, the press acted as only one, albeit very important, element of the public sphere within which the formation of public opinion took place during World War I. The mechanisms of the public sphere fulfilled one of the key tasks: due to its influence the population was mobilized in all areas of its practical activity. At the very beginning of the war, the press stood in solidarity with the authorities regarding the inevitability of the future victory of Russia and the need to protect the Fatherland from enemy attacks. The question of the duration of hostilities and the advent of peace was more complicated. However, as the war continued and the internal political crisis grew, the attitude towards the early conclusion of peace was changing, gradually transforming into hatred of all the actors of the war in the public sphere, with its own authorities taking the place of the enemy governments. Throughout the war, the pressure on the media by the censorship striving to maintain a pro-government publicity regime increased. However, at some point the transformation of the public sphere became irreversible and in many ways predetermined the events of 1917. The authors’ contribution. E.А. Antyukhova has defined the methodological approaches to the interpretation of the documents of the periodical press of World War I in terms of the public sphere, demonstrated its possibilities in the formation of public opinion. V.F. Blokhin has analyzed the existing points of view in the domestic and foreign historiography on the features of the functioning of the periodical press under the conditions of World War I, demonstrated the work of military censorship at different stages during the military conflict.

This paper presents a default structural model of sovereign debt under macroeconomic conditions and periodic news. I model the macroeconomic conditions to be a finite state of Markov chain, and the periodic news to be a predictable factor in the drifting and the diffusion parts in the underlying value of the representative firm. The innovation of our model is to characterize the price of sovereign debt and the sovereign credit spread associated with macroeconomic conditions, and to model periodic news with both continuous factors and periodic factors. Both the defaultable yield-to-maturity, the sovereign credit spread and the duration are related to the finite state of Markov chain and periodic news. Furthermore, we obtain a closed-form solution for the two-state Markov chain associated to macroeconomic conditions and periodical information update.

The article examines the publishing activities of the provincial journals «Simbirsk Eparchial Bulletin and «Samara Eparchial Bulletin» during the world war of 1914–1917. In their periodicals, Church editors and journalists tried to support the sense of patriotism in the society and to justify Russia’s role and mission in the war against the «Teutonic hordes». Also by 1916, social problems and ideological decline of the Russian monarchy are traced the journals. The author has implemented a detailed scientific analysis of previously formed knowledge and scientific approach in order to identify knowledge about the editorial and publishing policy of the Russian Orthodox Church during the war. In his scientific research, the author was guided by the historical method or, as it is formulated in another way, the principle of historicism. When conducting this research, the author relied primarily on special historical and general historical methods. The reliability of the research is conditioned by the use of real archival periodicals published in 1914–1917. The article is highly topical because using specific examples the author shows the information capabilities of the Church periodical press in war conditions.

In the conditions of “narrowing” the field of using the national languages of the Middle Volga region peoples, the study of historical experience of their use as a channel of cultural modernization and westernization of the society in the pre-revolutionary period is a topical subject of research. The purpose of the work is to analyze retrospectively the activities to translate and publish secular educational material and periodical press in the Chuvash language in Kazan in the late-imperial period (1905–1914). Liberalization of Caesarism’s internal politics during the First Russian Revolution, as well as emancipation of social consciousness of the national intelligentsia created favorable conditions for the appearance of the first periodicals and secular literature in the Chuvash language. One of the education centers, where at this time new Chuvash editions began to be published, was Kazan. The first Chuvash newspaper “Khypar” was published there as well as annual calendars, the Translation Commission under Kazan educational district organized translation and printing secular educational literature. Within the framework of this study, for the first time in the Russian historiography, the author makes an attempt to assess the role of Kazan in the formation of the Chuvash secular educational book and newspaper periodicals in pre-revolutionary period, he studies the activity of the Translation Commission under Kazan Educational District on compiling and printing secular educational literature, he shows the repertoire, the circulation and the years of Chuvash editions release. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the formation of secular book printing and the appearance of the first periodic organs in the Chuvash language played a significant role in the birth of the national movement and the growth of self-awareness in the Chuvash people.

How to enhance the combustion and reduce the total pressure loss in scramjet combustor are very critical for the practical application of hypersonic aircraft. Based on the dominant thermal mechanism of arc plasma, the plasma generated in combustor is regarded as a promising method to improve the combustion. As a result, the combustor model with transverse fuel jet and plasma generated by two discharge modes at the upstream of flameholding cavity is established and it is used to study the mechanism of fuel mixing enhancement through numerical investigation. The results show that an oblique shock wave would be formed at the upstream of the pseudo small plasma hump, and interact with the separation shock wave induced by the transverse jet. This results in the recirculation zone at the upstream of fuel jet being enlarged obviously. Besides that, under the non-reaction flow conditions, the total pressure recovery coefficient increases due to the plasma generated. However, the total pressure recovery coefficient varies apparently and the shear layer above the cavity is fluctuant when the plasma is generated by periodical discharge mode. While under the reaction flow conditions, the shear layer develops thicker and the total pressure recovery coefficient decreases. And due to the existing of plasma, the mole fraction of product water increases. But compared with the steady discharge mode, the level of water is lower and the total pressure recovery coefficient decreases more under the periodical discharge mode. Though the plasma generated by steady discharge mode shows better performance in assisting combustion and reducing the pressure loss, considering the energy saving and the use of different parameters of the periodical discharge, the same effects of enhancing the fuel mixing through enlarging the recirculation zone located at the upstream of fuel jet and promoting the mass exchange of cavity can be reached. More numerical experiments have to be done to optimize the parameters of periodical discharge plasma to receive a best improvement on the performance of scramjet combustor.

Nonlinear stage of quasi‐Cherenkov instability of electron beam under conditions of two‐ and three‐dimensional distributed feedback is simulated. The scheme of distributed feedback with two strong coupled waves is considered. Mathematical model of quasi‐Cherenkov electron beam instability is proposed. Numerical method to solve the nonlinear integro‐differential system, describing such instability, is worked out. Results of numerical experiments are discussed. The death of a police officer entitles members of his or her family to financial compensation under the conditions laid down by the law, with survivor’s pension as a principal type of this compensation. If the death of a police officer occurred in connection with the performance of his or her duties, the survivo’s pension is payable to his or her family members based on more favourable conditions. A recently enacted law of 8 February 2023 introduced a new type of compensation, called a ‘financial benefit’, to which family members are entitled when a police officer deceases while performing duties in conditions threatening his or her life or health

Publishing the findings of scientific research in reputable scientific publications affects the rate of knowledge dissemination. At the same time, most Belarusian scientific journals has been revising their publishing concept to meet the criteria set by citation indexes.The paper aim is to determine the status of the Belarusian scientific periodicals in the conditions of the developing model of electronic scientific communication in the post-Soviet states.At the first stage, the stream of publications by Belarusian researchers was identified, and the positive dynamics in 2011 to 2021 was recorded. Documents were analyzed by type and thematic categories. At the second stage, the list of Belarusian scientific journals was analyzed for their indexation in the science citation databases, the availability of the periodical website, the positive dynamics of the titles on the List of scientific publications for publishing the findings of dissertations recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of Republic of Belarus (List of publications of the Higher Attestation Commission), etc.Based on the analysis, it was revealed that Belarusian scientific journals are widely represented in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI); at the same time, there is a certain “stagnation” in their entering the international citation indices – Scopus or Web of Science. The authors emphasize the challenge of Belarusian scientific periodicals insufficient presence in the Internet, and of the absent websites of some periodicals.

The article is intended to acquaint a reader with that important role and place of the Basilian periodical Misionar which it played in the foundation of the Lay Order of Saint Basil the Great in the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church by the Righteous Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky. The article investigates the initial period of the foundation of the Lay Order of Saint Basil the Great, which was covered in the pages of the periodical Misionar in 1897-1898. The Lay Order of Saint Basil the Great, the earliest name of which is the Brotherhood of Law of Saint Basil the Great, was founded at the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in the time of the Dobromil's reform of the Basilian Order in 1897 by the hegumen of the monastery of Saint Onuphrius in Lviv, father Andrey Sheptytsky, the Order of Saint Basil the Great, the future metropolitan. In the pages of the periodical Misionar, which was also founded by the hegumen and father Andrey Sheptytsky, the Order of Saint Basil the Great, in May in the year of 1897, within June 1897 - December 1898 the materials were published relating to the earliest period of the foundation of the Lay Order of Saint Basil the Great. This is the period when the father A. Sheptytsky, the Order of Saint Basil the Great, fulfilled the duties of the hegumen of Lviv Monastery until August 26, 1898 and later was appointed as a Professor of moral and dogmatic theology at Krystynopol. The first editor of the periodical was the father Platonid Filias, the Order of Saint Basil the Great. By the time the father A. Sheptytsky, the Order of Saint Basil the Great, became the Stanislavsky bishop (1899), he was also the responsible editor of the periodical Misionar. The hegumen and father Andrey Sheptytsky, the Order of Saint Basil the Great, having founded Misionar and having founded the centres of the Brotherhood of Law, used the periodical to popularize the Brotherhood of Law and its development, thus encouraging readers to the perfect Christian life in the world in the community of Brotherhood in order to do good deeds for the benefit of all “Russ community” by joint efforts. The periodical provided information about the formation of centres of the Brotherhood of Law in localities, where the Basilian missions took place. The articles were printed that contributed to the formation of new centres and spiritual formation of community members. In particular, under the heading “The Life of the Saints”, the Basilian fathers, telling about the life of Saint Dalmat, his son Favstva and Saint Isaac, encouraged readers of Misionar to imitate the life of these Saints, the monastic life in the world and the formation of monasteries in villages, like the monastery of St. Isaac. They advised how this could be done. In the heading of the periodical “Misionarski Visti” [Missionary News], it was reported in which localities the centres of the Brotherhood of Law were founded. From May till December 1898, the story “The Christian community” was printed in 12 issues of the periodical that described the life of the law and the Christian life in general. These articles contributed to the spiritual formation of the members of the founded Brotherhood of Law and all readers of the periodical as well as the introduction of the “Rules of St. Father N. Vasyl V. for Mirsky people”, which were concluded by the hegumen and father Andrey Sheptytsky, the Order of Saint Basil the Great for the Brotherhood. Thus, favourable conditions were created for the foundation and development of the Lay Order of Saint Basil the Great, and the periodical Misionar played a special role in this. We can assert that the periodical Misionar occupies an honourable place in the entire now more than 120-year history of the existence and activities of the Lay Order of Saint Basil the Great in the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church.

In the article, based on research materials of periodical publications illuminated the literature value in cultural evolution of southern region of Ukraine in 1950-1960 yrs. It is specified that the literature in the USSR against the background of active political events of the 50's-60's yrs. considered by government institutions as an extraordinary phenomenon of culture, which has important socio-political value. The main value of the literary life of southern Ukraine research play the materials of local periodicals, which contain information missing from other types of sources. Like a historical source the newspaper has several advantages despite of subjective nature – information inexhaustibility, completeness, comprehensiveness, quick delivery of up-to-date information. The literary life of the southern region of Ukraine is presented in local newspapers: "Pivdenna pravda", "Bug'skay Zaray", "Chornomorska komuna", "Literaturnyy almanakh" (Odessa), "Naddnipryanskaya Pravda" (Kherson). The Literature in mentioned periodicals occurs as one of the traditional consideration objects – in common with music, theater, cinema and other areas of artistic activity. These sources contain extensive factual and analytical content with important stages in the history of southern Ukraine's literature The basic tendencies, substantive aspects and peculiarities of the literary life of the region are analyzed. The degree of interaction between a particular industry and the press has been established. Some conclusions are made. First of all, the literary life of the region was under the strict control of Soviet public association structures. At the second, most publications include the different types of artistic text analysis: philological, linguistic, stylistic, literary. It's worth to remark that interest of periodicals in the course of literary life say for to the cultural region integration into the Union space. In the third place, using periodicals as a source of knowledge in the cultural development research, can clearly identify the literary trends inherent in this region. In general, the newspaper periodicals of the 1950-60 th, taking into account certain historical conditions of its functioning, its ideological orientation, are an important systematized and chronological source of study of the cultural life of Ukrainian society during the liberalization of the Soviet regime.

AbstractIn the paper, we applied the paraxial region theory and Wentzel–-Kramers–-Brillouin approximation to study laser beam self-focusing in the interaction of laser and collisional plasma with periodical density ripple. The results have shown that, under the influence of collision nonlinear effect, laser presents stable self-focusing, self-defocusing, and oscillational self-focusing in the plasma. Besides, the parameters of plasma with periodical density ripple have a greater impact on the effect of self-defocusing and oscillational self-focusing than stable self-focusing. In certain conditions, beam self-defocusing and oscillational self-focusing would decline and even disappear, and stable self-focusing would further be strengthened. Hence, selecting a suitable periodic plasma system is advantageous for separating self-defocusing and oscillational self-focusing, and for the formation of a more stable collisional self-focusing.

Abstract (sommario):

The paper explores possibilities of satirical materials as a mechanism for adapting the rear population to everyday living conditions. The themes of household satire, which were developed in printed products produced during the First World War in the cities of the Volga region, are revealed. They are presented in individual satirical publications, as well as in the unofficial periodical press, in the publications of political parties and official authorities. The author analyzed the materials, including domestic satire, in the following areas: providing the population of the rear cities, combating drunkenness, using war for profit, social conflicts, stability of the internal political course, leisure opportunities. It is revealed that in the periodicals that appeared on the territory of the cities of the Volga region, satirical materials were presented by a number of genres: ditty, feuilleton, proverb, parody, cited literary form of prose and verse. The author came to the conclusion about the importance of satirical materials to reflect the everyday problems faced by the urban man in the street. Emphasizing that the source base is indirect, it was suggested taking into account the possibility of the influence of satire on the habituation of citizens reading periodicals to everyday problems associated with the War.

According to the general solution for waterhammer deriving by the author, this paper proved that the solution can be written in the form of the d'Alembert's wave functions. Some equations including the so-called the chain equation is derived with the help of the new solution. The periodical influence of the initial conditions on the results is discussed.

Abstract This article explores the role of translation in forming and legitimizing a Kurdish cultural identity through diverse renderings in the Kurdish magazine Hawar launched by Celadet Alî Bedirxan between 1932 and 1943 in Damascus. It also sheds light on the tense relationship between Kurdish and Turkish cultures, which also impacted the translational and cultural aspects of the periodical. This relation has relatively improved from the late twentieth century onwards. My argument is that the composition of Hawar as a whole and translations in the periodical aimed to form a Kurdish cultural identity and legitimize it both for the Kurds and worldwide audience in the historical conditions of the 1930s and 1940s. This article will point out the pivotal position of translation in the composition of Hawar and the role played by Celadet Alî Bedirxan as an agent in this undertaking.
